~Mistralton Airport + Plane~
Call it fate or the actions of some ethereal puppeteer hiding in the skies above, but through no real action or intent of his own free will, Fitzroy found himself standing upon the Mistralton airport Tarmac, the ginger haired former celebrity brought here by sheer happenstance of being in the wrong place at the right time. Caught up in his own narcissim and ego, the man in his late twenties had been doing his best to chat up two resistance lasses, the duo of beauties on their way to the teleportation area whilst the man so wrapped up with himself had been absentmindedly following them from behind. His fake Tommy gun strapped along his back as part of his attire; the man dawning that costume of one of his former movie roles in an attempt to strike a visual impact on the two girls.

Bigging himself up and unaware of just how little they seemed to care or even notice his presence, Fitzroy had followed the pair into the room where others had already begun to be teleported away, the man not even noticing how those around them had begun to disappear one by one; his own attention glued to the two gems that had caught his wandering eyes.
With the two lasses stopping just ahead of him and turning to face those in charge of the transportation, Fitz out of pure delusion had already begun to reach into his jackets inner left pocket; a stack of signed photographs of himself filling the space as his fingers tickled their presence. Fitz had assumed that they had stopped, turned and given him the thumbs up when in actuallity they had given those in charge of sending them to Mistralton the green light to send them all away; Fitz included.

In a flash of blindingly bright light, Fitz found himself standing upon the Mistralton Airport Tarmac, the sun above him causing him to take several steps backwards and squint as his eyes adjusted to the sudden change. However it wasn't the assault from the sun that had rendered him immobile. Unexpecting and unfamiliar with the sensation of teleportation, Fitz had felt a wave of nausea hit him; his body feeling weakened as if he were standing upon a boat amidst a large storm. Tipsy and feeling his senses begin to slip away, Fitz found himself standing upon unsteady feet as he wobbled back and forth; the feeling of wanting to hurl this mornings contents growing ever stronger as he found his vision waver and his body begin to descend backward. Fortunately or unfortunately for Fitz, a fellow Resistance member had noticed his state and had rushed over just as Fitz's was about to fall; the ginger haired actor falling backwards with his hand pressed against his face as if he were acting our a 'fainting scene'.

Momentarily unconscious from the after effects of the teleportation, Fitz had been strapped into a seat near the back of the plane, and was slowly beginning to recover from the after effects of the sudden teleportation, his head slumped against the passenger side window and his eyes opening to see the plane already high above in the sky as clouds passed underneath. As his vision returned to normal, Fitz still tipsy had begun to catch parts of Blue's speech, his ears twitching as Blue mentioned their Target.

"Nova HQ?!" barked Fitz as his body shot up; almost as if he had been injected with a dose of pure adrenaline. "Wh.. whaaaat?!" he continued, in pure shock, quickly realizing that he couldn't stand up due to being fastened tightly in his seat. Confused and in a state of panic, Fitz hadn't noticed the large hand come across from his left side, the man sitting next to him quickly placing his hand across Fitz's chest in an attempt to calm him down.

"Relax Friend, you're alright. Chimmy here has been using her soothe bell to help you recover" spoke the large man, as a skittish chimecho appeared from within the mans resistance jacket. "Looks like you caught yourself a bout of teleportation sickness... nothing to worry about though.. it happens to everyone" he continued, as the pokemon disappeared back into the mans jacket and hid itself from view. "As you heard... we are heading straight to Nova HQ, We are to act as a diversion for another group to carry out their own mission"

"A diversion?... thought Fitz inwardly as he maintained a brave face in front of the fellow resistance member. Though rather then outwardly showing his panic and confusion, Fitz had instead channelled one of his former roles and began to put on an act. "That seems like quite a waste of an opportunity, does it not?" spoke Fitz, his voice deeper and his chest puffed out. His question drew out a raised eyebrow from the other trainer. "Listen Bud, We could simply strike Nova HQ and take them by force, couldn't we? After all, I am here and I'll have you know I am quite the strong fighter. Heck, I'd probably rival Blue if I really put my mind to it!" Fitz continued, his confidence and self belief growing.

"Look.. between you and me, I've fought against six other trainers and beat all of them with ease... barely even broke a sweat, I am that strong" he added, though he did forget to add that it was all staged and a scene for a film that he had starred in several years back. Alas, his words did little to draw out the desired reaction and instead, the man next to him had simply forced a smile, passing off Fitz's delusions of grandeur as just another symptom of his teleportation sickness. "Ha... ha... Yeah... well that's.. good to know.." replied the man awkwardly as he stood up and began to take his leave. ".. Well.. the mission's the mission...so.. uh. anyway... I need... to.. uh.. check on a few... things....over there...bye." With that the man made his quick escape, leaving Fitz behind to bask in his own delusions as he half heartedly listened to the back and forth between Blue and other resistance fighters; his ego inwardly answering half of the question on behalf of blue as he sat there with a smug grin across his face.

~Goldenrod City~

The landing had been almost as bad as the sudden teleportation; Fitz nails having dug several lines into the arm rails as he held on for dear life during the rapid descent. Pale as a ghost and with sweat beading down his face, it was quite the surprise that Fitz had not passed out again, let alone hurled out the contents of his stomach. Eyes making contact with the man from earlier, Fitz resumed his earlier caricature and began to puff out his chest once more; his expression now one of confidence as he began to unbuckle his seatbelt and make his own exit from the plane.

They were here now, in the heart of Nova territory and there was not much he could do about it outside of going along with the flow. He may have acted the part in front of the man, but truly Fitz was on the verge of wetting himself as he spurned himself forward, motivated not to fight and accomplish the mission, but rather to not look like the one coward that stayed hidden upon the plane.

Following the lead of a ninja girl and a red haired man, a blue haired man Fitz holding his tommy gun in both hands had slipped himself into the group, following behind the majority of them as he continued to force himself onward, though with one eye looking for his own quick escape route should the need arise. Despite his roles on the big screen, when push came to shove he was well aware of just how much of a coward he was; though that knowledge was not enough to stop him from instinctually pretending that he could fight and be the main character of the story.

Walking into the back of another resistance member, Fitz hadn't noticed the Ninja's signal to stop and had it not been for the others in this group, he would have continued walking forward and potentially blown their cover. Thankfully though that didn't happen and from where he stood, Fitz could only gawk as the Ninja got to work, throwing her smoke bombs at several grunts that Fitz didn't even notice were nearby. "I can do this.." muttered Fitz to himself as he watched in shock and awe "As long as someone strong like her is here... I won't have to do much... Nothing more comforting than a stunt double for the harder stunts" he continued to say to himself, though his expression of shock, awe and relief was soon washed away with dread. Eyes still focused on Kugasa, he had watched her string shot away to the roof of a nearby building; the confidence that Fitz had just built gone instantly after seeing that superhuman feat. How were they meant to follow her up there?, What if everyone else in this group was not as strong as her?. His insecurities returned, replacing the false bravado.

Once more Fitz began to look for a way to make a quick escape. Not noticing that the rest from their group had made their way past the gas and the fallen grunts and had in turn left him all alone in the back. Two gun shots from the direction of where Alex had run off two had caused Fitz to raise his guard, his hands grasping his prop tightly, Fitz had been unaware of the smoke naturally gathering around him as the cities wind began to blow through, though before it had fully swallowed him in its poisonous grip, the man had just enough time to reach down for one of his luxury balls, the dark ball falling to the ground as Vinci appeared before him.

"V.V.. V.. V... V..inci... gusst" stuttered Fitz as he began to turn sporadically, his prop gun raised and his eye looking down the prop scope for any sign of someone coming at him. As he stood there frozen, the Smeargle after sighing inwardly and placing a palm to its face had began to get to work, the tip of its tail interchanging between grey, white and black as it began to draw a flock of 4 pidoves, the drawings on the ground moving in unison as a gust of wind began to spread the gas everywhere else but here.

Safe from the smoke, Fitz lowered his gun and stood up straight wiping the sweat from his brow as the threat of impending demise subsided. "This isn't that hard" he said to himself as he strecthed his back and turned to make his way to the opened gate; though upon turning he froze once more. The sight that was revealed before him had been the 'third strike and your out moment' and just as quickly as any composure had returned to Fitz, the ginger haired caricature had found himself lurched over and vomiting.

Now that the smoke was cleared, the bodies of several dead grunts had been revealed to him, though none were more disturbing than the large body with its face seemingly melted off.

Advancing towards Nova HQ, Alex left a trail of bodies in his wake. The Nova grunts had never seen him coming, and he made sure they wouldn’t live to regret it.

He clenched his teeth as he buried his knife into the neck of yet another man, trying his best to suppress any feelings of guilt.

It didn’t help very much.

For Lucas it seemed so easy to kill without remorse. Granted, Alex did handle it better than most. But he still couldn’t help feeling just a little bit sick taking a life. Hopefully that would change with time.

He had killed a few people before while running missions with Lucas. But, not enough to completely detach himself from the remorse inside. The man's face still appeared in his mind every time Alex blinked, burned into his being alongside all the others. “It's you or them” he reminded himself, speaking aloud without much thought.

“It’s okay to feel bad, Alex” Lucas chimed in over Alexander's comms, startling the younger man. “You aren’t weak because of it”

Alex opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted as a handgun was shoved into it. “You should really keep more quiet if you’re going to be sneaking around where you don’t belong” the woman on the other end of the gun suggested. Alex could only grunt in reply, clenching his eyes shut as he prepared for the inevitable.

But just as quickly as it had been shoved in, the gun was removed. This was followed by a foot, swiftly kicking him in the crotch. Alex keeled over, collapsing in a heap on the ground with a deflated groan. The woman followed him down, pinning him against the concrete.

“What have you got there, Asha?” a new voice called from the other side of the street.

“A noisy little Resistance boy" she called back, chuckling as Alex squirmed beneath her.

“Oh? Wait a minute, that one looks familiar…” the man commented as he came up behind the woman named Asha, leaning over and peering into Alex's eyes. “Wait a minute, is that… you're Reed's kid!”

Alex raised his head, trying to figure out how this man knew him. Reed's kid, he had called him. “You,” he paused in stunned realization, “you knew my dad?”

“Oh, I knew him alright” the man confirmed with a solemn nod. “Served with him in the war” Alex stared at the older man in shock, but on the other end of the line his mentor sat petrified in horror.

“Scaletta” Lucas muttered, then snapped to attention. “Alexander, you need to get out of there. Franklin Scaletta is not a friend” it took Alex a moment to realize who was talking, but when he did he finally managed to regain his focus. This was bad.

Sapphire Birch (Kugasa Karasuna)
Goldenrod - Somewhere between Nova HQ and Department Store, Johto

1b3f0536c265227b8b17d45bc07ad66b.jpg

Kuga stopped running to watch as Nova Admin Jay Rayne literally popped out into the skies above the city, standing above an invisible platform of some sort as he addressed them all. Listening to the lies and blatant hypocrisy from his lips without a word, her eyebrow rose as he danced with his pokemon. She’d heard rumors of such powers (z-something) being utilized by some trainers in the Alolan region, but it hadn’t been something she’d deeply looked into. Perhaps that was something that ought to be rectified should she decide to vacation in the sunny region…whenever she had the time, of course.

Between work for the resistance, their new gym in Orre, protecting Janine, and her own poison research + ninja training, it wasn’t as if she had very much time for leisure activities. Kuga wasn’t sure she even knew how to relax anymore, given the era of war they currently lived in. These days she always slept with her sword at her side.

As vaporeon melted into a fog, Kugasa figured she ought hurry to headquarters before a chunk of the resistance got themselves wiped out (or captured) on a decoy mission. She continued her charge. Seconds later, Kugasa felt the muzzle of gun against her head. Nova Admin Jay’s greeting followed.

“Jay Rayne…” Glancing at Troxtricity by her side whose body crackled, looking ready to blast their attackers with 15,000 volts of electricity, Kugasa shook her head and slowly raised her hands without turning around. When dealing with psychic pokemon—like the one in front of her—it was best not to think too much. Rely on instincts and experience. It wasn’t as if it was the first time Kugasa found herself with a gun to her head.

Her eyes flitted upward to see a Noivern and Talonflame as they roamed the skies in the distance. Likely Rayne’s pokemon since she didn’t see any Starburst beams flying at them. “I heard you were the one that captured Ruby.”

Got to keep character. Admittedly, she didn’t know much about Sapphire Birch beyond the basics, but she doubted Rayne did either. “Where is he!? What did you and your scum friends do to hi—?”

The sound of gunfire caused the previously motionless Spinarak on her arm to react instantly, a shimmering light green barrier of [Protect] encircling her as Kuga dived to distance herself from the line of fire. Palm against the cement, Kugasa flipped—like a ninja—and landed on her feet as a loud booming sound rattled her ears. Keeping her gaze averted from the source of the blinding flash, Kugasa slipped a hand into her pouch and sent a quick text message to Alan, certain he would inform either Blue or Green of the situation, as she sprinted towards the voice that called to her. Spinarak seemed to understand its trainer’s intention and expanded its bubble of [Protect] to envelop the one who attacked Nova Admin Jay as well. .

Meanwhile, Toxitricity, who’d been forced to shut its eyes because of the flasbang, scratched wildly at its protrusions, the sounds of a bass guitar growing louder and much more intense than before as it went into [Overdrive], generating powerful electrical vibrations to zap any and all of the foes within its range. Once it finished its performance, Toxtricity opened its eyes and shot a smug, superior look towards Gardevoir. The lowkey-versions always tended to look down on those that would try to challenge it, and Kugasa’s ninja-trained Toxtricity was no different. Ignoring Gardevoir’s trainer, who it didn’t even consider to be a match for it, Toxtricity waggled its finger at the psychic pokemon, striking it with a [Taunt].

Kugasa sighed, glancing at the dark-cloaked stranger that assisted her. Not Nova then. Yet she hadn’t seen him on the plane with other resistance members either. Civilian? Third party? The clothing he wore made him look like a nobleman of some sort. They seemed to be a bit wet as well. “Thanks,”

She redirected her eyes at Nova Admin Rayne and his pokemon. “But I can’t leave just yet.”

Even if she could try and escape, it only meant that Jay would set his sights on other resistance members—the real Platinum and Sapphire included. Lackies should be easy enough for the girls to handle…but a Nova Admin was a different matter altogether. From what she heard, he was skilled pokemon trainer, though exactly how skilled was hard to say. Skilled enough to utilize a power hailing from the Alolan region at least. Was he Alolan then? Had he participated in any of the league tournaments? Challenged the Fuchsia Gym? Rumors about him ran wildly from merciful to merciless so it was hard to say exactly what his personality was…but there was no run on sight order for him like the case of Admin Celene. The resistance would have to deal with him eventually and she wanted to know what she was up against.

Either way, Kugasa’s job was to buy time; Twenty minutes to be exact.

Whether she did so by keeping Nova Admin Rayne busy or not made no difference, but it was better for the resistance to keep mid-bosses like him isolated from the rest if they wanted to limit the casualties on their side…as much as possible anyway.

Kugasa reached into her pouch, prepared to throw out a ninja star or a pokeball depending on the situation. “I’ll cover you if you want to though. Toxtricity seems to want to challenge the Gardevoir and I’m used to fighting trainers that think they’ll beat poison types just by throwing out a psychic.”

Viktor "The Emperor"

5688-1841060616.jpg

Goldenrod - Near Nova HQ

Viktor was pleased to see the Birch girl head towards his position while the Team Nova Admin and their Gardevoir was distracted. It seems as though this Sapphire girl does have some sense, good. His left hand succeeded in removing the pin off of his smoke grenade and Viktor made to toss the helpful distraction when he felt some odd presence surrounding him. A quick glance showed the bearded man that it was merely a protective barrier crafted from a Pokemon's move and therefore nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, this short lapse in attention was enough for Viktor to miss the timing to throw the smoke grenade. A curse escaped his lips as he dropped the object belching out thick, red smoke that was now forming around Viktor and Sapphire(?). Well, I suppose this helps us too.

The bearded man was about to turn tail and escape from any further conflict with Admin Jay, preferably before the two Pokemon in the sky decided to zero in on their location and join in. I can hardly believe I almost missed those. Though, it is good that I know they are above us now. Wine red eyes lingered on the flying Pokemon for a moment longer as Viktor's foot shifted and he tensed his body to leave. Unfortunately, it was at this exact moment that Sapphire(?) had decided to speak up. "What!?" Viktor's eyes flashed with annoyance as they flitted back towards the girl he had chosen to assist. Surely this young one had misspoken or his ears were finally beginning to fail him. However, as a second, then another passed and the red smoke began to fully obscure both Viktor and Sapphire(?) he realized that the girl had not moved from her previous position. These kids are always so reckless! I take back my praise! A scowl made its way to Viktor's face, not that it was visible to any of the individuals present. "I will not allow a child to fight on my behalf. Let's get this done, quickly." The older male made no effort to hide his annoyed tone as his right hand pulled his Dagger out of its poison-filled sheath.

Now resolved to combat the Team Nova Admin in earnest, Viktor kicked the halfway spent smoke grenade at his feet over towards Jay and his Gardevoir, causing the smoke to begin to dispense over there now. Then his scarred left hand flexed as Viktor tried to remember what he had previously about operating Team Nova's Starburst Gauntlets. These gauntlets worked wonders against the Grunts, but something tells me that any Pokemon assisting Jay will not be so easily brought down by this tech. Regardless, they should serve well as a distraction until I can close the distance. With any luck, Cain will be in position by now too. Viktor decided to calmly walk out from the protection of the smoke cloud, rather than run forwards, blasting the Starburst energy everywhere. There was a time and a place for such desperate measures, but in the middle of an undecided battle was not one such place. Besides, if Viktor had decided to make use of the Nova tech without first ensuring he had a clear shot on Jay's Gardevoir, then he would be severely diminishing the combined fighting capabilities of Sapphire(?) and himself. Assuming the Birch girl and I are able to adapt to each others' fighting styles. Ignoring his own cynicism, Viktor set his eyes back upon the battle before him and more importantly, Admin Jay.

How to go about fighting this one... Viktor bent his knees and brought his dagger up before him in a reversed grip as he glanced about the area, searching for a very particular signal. A flash from an alleyway near the Gardevoir had the bearded male feeling a small dose of relief. Good, took him long enough. Now to distract this one. Viktor took a step forward, continuing his casual walk back towards the Nova Admin. "I don't suppose you will entertain an old man with a friendly duel?" The bearded man was not too concerned with being shot by Jay since he had taken the precaution to put on a bulletproof vest prior to touching down in Johto and in addition to that layer of protection, Viktor also had whatever Pokemon Move Sapphire(?) was using guarding him as well. Though, all that truly meant was that Viktor was not preparing to dart into the nearest alleyway if his current opponent decided to make use of the firearm in his hands. "I would not enjoy cutting down a young man like you on a night like this." His left wrist rotated, angling his fingers to face the night sky as though he were holding an imaginary wine glass in the center of his palm. Then, Viktor brought his index finger over to touch his middle finger as he angled the two touching fingers to point over towards the Gardevoir.

Nothing interesting happened for a brief moment, the confrontation between the Toxtricity and Gardevoir was progressing naturally while Viktor prepared himself for Jay's response. Then, a reddish blur darted out from the alleyway near Gardevoir and rushed forwards, making soft metallic clicks as it did so. Cain, the rushing figure, next wreathed its bladed arms in a midnight purple energy as it closed the distance. The Bisharp then swung forth with [Night Slash], aiming for the Gardevoir's exposed neck from behind as the red smoke from Viktor's kicked smoke grenade began threatening to obscure that fight entirely.

Rikki kicked at the resistance member's body until it slid off of her trident. It popped loudly as the friction from the movement combined with the flowing electricity.

"Gross." Shark girl grimaced, quickly snapping her attention back to her surroundings. The fighting was still ongoing, seemingly more and more resistance members and Nova grunts congregating onto the field. She was fully ready to jump back into a fight until a loud voice that protruded from everywhere and nowhere at once broke her focus. Shielding her eyes from the glaring sun, she recognized Admin Jay and his Pokemon as they addressed the crowd below. Most were stopped in their tracks to gaze up in wonder and, Rikki assumed, some healthy amount of fear to see what he had to say. Unlike the others however, the small Nova grunt didn't have the patience to sit and listen. She knew what their cause was and also knew there was no use in changing the resistance's mind. If they wanted a fight then that's what she would give them. The only thing she couldn't understand what their lack of adaptability. How were they so naive as to turn away from their plans?

She had been similar to them, long ago. Unbeknownst to Rikki, she might have been in the resistance if they had gotten to her first. However, fate always had a way to warp the innocent at some point. Nova had appealed to her love for Pokemon to drive their point home. Pokemon didn't belong under some ruling hand. What they were doing now would only be temporary. After the resistance gave up, Rikki and her Pokemon could live happily side by side, not as trainer and pet. With that reassuring thought, the shark grunt broke out of her memories and began plotting her next goal. Alison and Tommy had gone to the roof, but they hadn't contacted her since. It had only been a few minutes, but it wouldn't hurt to check on them, right?

Now with a determined glance at the roof, Rikki set off towards her destination. She managed to zap a few resistance members along the way, causing others to start chasing after her in revenge. Thankfully the fog from Admin Jay's Vaporeon began to settle on thick and she had lost her pursuers in only a couple of seconds. She managed to make her way up the twisting latter leading to the top of their headquarters, but what she found nearly stopped her in her tracks. Confusion and anger filled her mind. Admin Jay and an unknown assailant stood in an ever growing cloud of smoke, the tension from the both of them obvious from where she stood. The thing that worried her most was her brief glimpse of Bisharp heading straight for Gardevoir before they too were shrouded by the cloud.

"Aw man, I didn't wanna do this so soon. It was supposed to be dramatic!" Rikki whined to the cloaked man before whistling loudly. The scene was silent for a few minutes until a sudden crunch crunch crunch sounded up the side of the building. No sooner had it stopped before Garchomp's red eyes were visible through the blanket of white in the air.

"Who the heck are you?" Her question was directed towards, who she assumed, was another resistance member. She knew Admin Jay was capable of protecting himself and his Pokemon, but any backup she could bring seemed necessary.

Nikita
Location: Island home

With a house and simple cooking surface done Nikita had what was necessary for simple living. Still she was lacking some things as going to a river not to far away was annoying. Nikita needed water for more than drinking as despite her primal knowledge she did bother to try to keep clean and having to wander off the the river to wash up then back was annoying. She could move to the stream but even here rivers could go wild should the things at the source get angry. Nikita had never learned what loved at the water source, but she knew it was alive and after seeing the creatures Nova used she wondered if they were similar. Nikita had seen them from far away as they never came down from the heights and climbing was near impossible as winds seemed to kick up any time she tried. The things Nova had used could also be related to the fish that Nikita sometimes ate, though fishing took so much time she rarely tried. She could fish but that might take all day to actually catch anything and meat was harder to keep fresh than her berries and roots. So she had her list of needs and while she wasn't planning to stay in her current home forever she didn't feel like moving to an area she might end up getting washed away at. She could start work on a more complex house right away, but well house building was very dirty work and very tiering so having trudge to the river and back after a long day of building was not exactly appealing. Getting water to flow from the river was no easy task in truth as unlike in other places in the world she didn't have a pokemon that could help her, though there were pokemon below the island she was unware of that could do the job. So doing something like digging a ditch to bring water to her location was out and that really would likely be rather dirty and if the river flooded it might flood her home. She would have to use something with a large but limited capacity that even she could manage to do without help. The answer was bamboo, it grew naturally and fast ion the island, and sometimes Nikita would snack on the sprouts, but more importantly it was already a tube and was rot resistant. The plan was simple enough, Nikita would go and find a smaller waterfall area and create a miniature dam ion one of the steps that would direct through a bamboo pipe. This of course was easier said than done, finding the waterfall and making the dam and even a small net to catch twigs and stuff was easy but hollowing bamboo was a pain.

While hollowing out normal wood was annoying, though could by more or less burning a hole through it, bamboo was not as tough it was just tedious. The seems between sections extended into the stalk and created a series of barriers which had to be broke and scrapped away one at a time. It was after a day of cutting down Bamboo Nikita would decide she needed better tools than stone. Her old home had tools of metal, but they had been burned and would be useless. Nikita had used them and when they broke she tried to fix them, but never got it quite right and the metal was to strong for her to reshape. Still there were ways to get metal she could use for work. So She would take the next day off for a somewhat simpler task, creating charcoal. She had found it on accident and found once burned wood burned hotter than normal wood. She had tried to make it for awhile before discovering you had to cover the wood almost completely while it burned to make charcoal. Fire needed air and if you cut off most air from a wood fire it didn't make all the wood ash. The process was simple enough you didn't even have to wait for the mud to be fully dry if you made it right. Nikita would spend some time gathering decently sized and dry enough wood then arrange them into a cone space keeping the wood close together. Then she would take a bunch of dry leaves and cover the wood in them before making a large amount of mud. The mud was wet enough to be shaped but not runny so that it wouldn't overly wet the kindling and wood below. Nikita would cover most of the mound in mud leaving an opening at the top and creating several at the bottom. The next step was simple enough light the top on fire and wait for it to burn down to the bottom and while she waited work on the bamboo tubes. That was tedious but easy enough just take a smaller bit of bamboo and slam in it and against the sides one barrier at a time. When the fire could be seen at the bottom of the mound she covered each hole up with mud then the top as well. With that the only thing left to do was wait till tomorrow for the charcoal to fully burn and cool. In the mean time she had bamboo tubes to scrape.

Goldenrod City, Johto

Jay's thumb absently pushed the cylinder of his revolver-like gun while waiting to see what the Resistance woman would choose to do in this situation. Would she act on instinct and fight despite the risk of a bullet entering her head as soon as she did? Would she give up and be captured in exchange for her life? Would she try to talk her way out? It was always interesting how different people chose to act when they thought the next moment might be their last. Interesting and sad.

The woman chose option three. She was right that he'd been the one to capture Ruby. It had been an enjoyable battle, one that he'd been unfortunately forced to end too soon. He'd already apologized to the captured Ruby for what he'd done, but he knew the trainer would never forgive him. It was understandable, he'd never have forgiven Ruby if Ruby had accepted his hollow apology. That was how it should be.

Solitaire's attention shifted as she felt someone new enter her psychic terrain. The slight change wasn't unnoticed by her trainer. He didn't exactly want to waste effort on a whole group, so he'd just save interrogating the woman for later. The cylinder stopped as his finger pressed down on the trigger.

The gunfire was expected, the bullets veering off course as Solitaire protected her trainer with Psychic power without him bothering to move at all. The flashbang tossed his way was slightly less expected. The bullet that fired from Jay's gun wasn't metallic but instead a projectile of sickly orange light. Getting hit by an admin's StarBurst would have hurt like hell, probably knocked her out if it had hit the back of her head at point-blank range, but it wouldn't have killed like a real bullet. The bullet of StarBurst energy came into contact with the Protect thrown up by the Spinarak he hadn't previously noticed, and the two energies clashed. The barrier broke where the bullet had hit, but it was deflected enough that between the flashbang disrupting Jay's aim and the woman diving away, the bullet slammed into the ground instead of hitting either the woman or her pokemon. Despite bring made of mostly energy and not solid matter, the StarBurst bullet still managed to dig a small hole into the ground before disappearing.

Unable to see, Jay jumped back as soon as he thought his shot had missed. "Sol, aim!" He closed his eyes and raised his arm. Unlike himself, Solitaire could still tell where everyone was despite being blinded so long as they were inside her psychic terrain. So he let her move his arm to where she knew the enemy was while he pulled the trigger. Once in the direction the woman had dove, once in the direction the gunfire had come from, and three times in the direction of his Gardevoir herself. He trusted her judgement and didn't resist pulling the trigger where she aimed. After the sixth shot he spun his gun's cylinder but made no move to continue firing. Solitaire had stopped moving his arm. She'd pointed out where the enemy was, but that wasn't why she'd stopped. She'd had to put up a barrier to protect her trainer from the wave of electrified soundwaves the Toxtricity had blasted out. Jay would have told her to let him take the hit if it let him defeat the enemy, but there were many more enemies they still needed to deal with today, so she dropped offense to keep Jay safe. She wasn't able to raise a barrier to protect herself at the same time, so the electricity and sound slammed into her fully. It wasn't enough to take her down, so she was fine. Even through the flashbang and smoke, that loud electric frog with the irritating face had managed to Taunt her while she was busy tasking its attack.

Solitaire narrowed her ruby eyes at the Toxtricity. Following her trainer's plan still came first, but she'd definitely find time to make this stupid frog hurt. The StarBurst bullet her trainer had fired slammed into the frog's back, only for the frog to disappear in a puff of white smoke. A Substitute? Annoying frog. Even while distracted by the Taunt, Sol still managed to pay attention to the information coming to her from Psychic Terrain. There it was, and from behind... She let out a chiming laugh and clapped her hands together. Dazzling Gleam pierced the smoke obscuring her enemies, the stabbing beams of light hitting the Toxtricity as its real body reappeared in front of her, as well as the Bisharp trying to sneak up on her. The Gardevoir stepped forward, her cloak flaring out, and the two StarBurst bullets hit her, piercing right through the white cloak she wore and emerging without slowing through the other side on their way towards the Bisharp. Solitaire was saddened that she'd put holes in the clothes Jay had given her, but this was what they were meant for anyway, to obscure her movements and distract enemies. She'd just have to make him get her a replacement after this battle. Her eyes glowed with Psychic power with the specific intent of slamming that annoying frog six feet into the dirt.

While Solitaire dealt with taking her seeded anger issues out on those two pokemon, her trainer found himself stuck dealing with an unpleasant-looking old man. A duel? Jay almost broke character enough to laugh at the suggestion. "Sure, I'm in the mood for a duel. Just me versus you, and the woman behind you, and every single Resistance rat making a mess in this city. One of me versus one army of you. That sounds good to me. It is my job after all." Jay copied the man's motion of raising his palm as he mocked his suggestion of a gentlemanly fight, but his hand held a black and gold pokeball rather than being empty. His fake smile fell away. "Ace and Supes, lockdown and suppress the woman."

The Talonflame and Noivern circling above moved into action. Acedia's body turned into a burning comet as it closed its wings and plummeted towards the earth, only for it to snap them open at the last moment in a fiery explosion and shoot off horizontal to the ground, its wingtip drawing a flaming line that erupted into a wall of flame in the bird's wake. It only took a moment for the bird's Fire Spin to have cut off the woman and old man's potential path of retreat. And while the cover of smoke might have hindered Talonflame's sight from knowing exactly where the woman was hiding, Noivern's hearing could still track her every movement, even the woman's heartbeat rang out clear to the dragon flying above. Being one of Jay's more bloodthirsty pokemon, Superbia would have liked to just explode the woman's body with a nice loud Boomburst, but Jay had been specific about only suppressing the woman. The dragon grumbled about not getting to show up that annoying frog and prove that it wasn't the loudest thing in this city, but in the end it did as it was told and just used Supersonic to disrupt her body and mind without killing her.

Now to have Gula deal with the old man, Jay thought, the luxury ball containing his Tyranitar rolling out of his hand. And then he saw something that made him close his fingers back around the ball; a Garchomp had appeared to join the fight. "Ira?" No, it wasn't her. Of course it wasn't. He still had one of his Garchomp's scales on a necklace he could feel under his shirt. This was just a random Garchomp. But that was still enough reason for Jay to decide not to let Gula out of his pokeball. "Invidia," he sighed, returning the other pokeball to his waist. The Eelektross appeared and immediately wrapped itself around its trainer. "I just saw something unpleasant," Jay said without any hint of his usual mocking tone, "so I'm actually not really in the mood to waste time with you. Invidia, use Thunder Wave." Sparks of paralyzing electricity shot from the electric pokemon wrapped around Jay towards the old man in front of him.

~Apartment ---> Department Centre~
tumblr_pgxxn127aa1v0owago1_640.jpg
The sound of gunfire followed by the cacophony of screams could soon be heard by Mikhail, the long haired nova grunt dawning an eyepatch over his left eye as he strutted over to the ledge of his balcony and looked over. Like ants attacking another colony, the dots below were none other than Resistance fighters storming the city; their origin of attack unknown to the former game warden but their target almost clear as day as they ventured closer towards the Nova HQ. Unlike quite a few of the other grunts and Nova staff stationed in Goldenrod, Mikhail was one of the few that actually had his own accommodation within the city, a place where he could unwind without having to worry about hustle and bustle of grunt life within the HQ; especially on his day's off.

Turning around and entering his apartment, Mikhail already with the small automatic crossbow dangling on the right side of his waist and his whip strapped to his left side had begun to make his way over to where his prized possession was perched. The black limbless bow was a marvellous invention from the Nova Scientists, sleek in appearance and carrying a presence of pure seduction, the crossbow was a prime hunting tool and would surely come in handy when Mikhail's hunt began. It was obvious to even the below average IQ, that any day's off today were no longer in effect, not with the sudden arrival of prey to the predator's den being a clear issue that would warrant all grunts to be ready for orders. It was now open season on all Resistance fighters.

Returning to the balcony, Mikhail took notice of two large clouds of mist within close proximity to one another. The first just a small cloud that had appeared, the purplish grey mist swallowing whole a platoon of guards who were unfortunately tasked with guarding that entrance today. The 2nd mist bigger and a few blocks away yet quite obviously more recent due to how dense it was. Almost instantly Mikhail had an idea of who and what the source of that bigger smoke was, after all he had heard the stories whispered among the other gruntlings. With almost 100% certainty, that smoke was more than likely the work of their Admin, Jay. His calculated assumption soon proven correct of teleportation caught his attention; the former game warden's eye falling upon the sight of Jay.

Focused on the sight below, Mikhail was shaken back to his own duties as his receiver came to life, the voice of one of his squad members ringing in his ear. "Mikhail do you copy? Mikhail!, where are you!?" came the sketchy voice over the wireless receiver in his ear. "At home.. I'm off duty today. Did you forget?" replied Mikhail, strapping one of his boots on.

"I didn't forget! But do you realize the bloomin situation we are in?!. Do you really think the admins will allow you to stay off duty?" barked the man, whose zealousness was only rewarded with a response of pure silence. "Mikhail! Did you hear me?....Damn it, whatever... Listen, Our squad has been ordered to provide support. The commander has ordered you to take position above the department centre. Use that vantage point to your advantage and coordinate with us where the enemy is coming from. Is that clear?! If you aren't there its your ass on the chopping block, not mine. So make sure you haul yourself over there quickly!"

"Tch"
replied Mikhail, as a strong gust of wind blew past him, knocking the bottle he had with him prior onto the floor and causing it to smash loud enough for Logan to hear.

"What was that? Mikhail, answer, are you ok?!" came the voice from before. "Mikhail!"

"Relax Logan, it was nothing. I am currently on route to the department centre"
came the composed voice of Mikhail as he reached for one of his pokeballs, a red glow appearing next to him as Artemis took form. "Take me to the department centre, We are to provide cover from above. Listen Artemis, the goal is to maim and not kill. I would rather not taint my hands with the blood of people, and our goals are more likely to come to fruition should we capture a few resistance fighters for HQ to interrogate, however if there is no other choice then we do what we must". With that said, Mikhail took the next step and leaped over the balcony rail, soon finding himself free falling with both his arms outstretched and ready for Artemis to grab as the pair took to the skies and in a few minutes found themselves standing upon the roof the the large shopping mall.

Walking over to the edge, Mikhail had reached for his second pokeball, tossing it skyward as the ominous green shimmer of his dusk ball danced against the sun light. "Aegis, you know what to do. If anyone comes from behind, you have my permission to engage them. Remember, maiming is preferable over killing. " came the order and soon after the faint silhouette of the ghost pokemon disappeared; hidden from view. "Logan, inform the commander that I am in position. I see a small group making their way towards the magnet station. Perhaps to secure an escape route. Should I engage?"

"Negative, a squadron should be posted there. You are to provide cover for Admin Jay. From your position you should have a clear sight of where he is. Reports indicate that he is currently engaged with the resistance key figure 'Sapphire Birch'. Can you confirm this?"
replied Logan, though he sounded more out of breath then he had earlier done so. It didn't help that that there was also far more background noise echoing through the transmission, almost as if Logan had now found himself in the thick of things himself.

tumblr_pm8iv9MuOh1u1uof4o1_500.jpg
"Confirmed. I see Admin Jay presently engaged in combat with Sapphire Birch and a man of unknown origin or affiliation, Am I to actively assist?" questioned Mikhail, adjusting the scope of his crossbow as he scoured over the ongoing fight; a cloud of red smoke making it hard for him to grasp the full scope of the situation, beyond the basics. Presently, it was Admin Jay in combat with Sapphire Birch and an unknown man. A resistance lackey was the first thing to come to mind, yet even from here Mikhail was sceptical of that being the case. The man carried a presence, one that was far superior to that of a low ranked recruit.

"If you have a shot, then engage at your own discretion; however your main goal is to provide pest control. Admin Jay should be more than capable of handling the pair of them on his own, that being said, should more resistance members arrive then things could soon change. To ensure this does not happen, other squads have been ordered to head to their location as well. Your mission objective it to ensure that no other resistance members arrive to assist Sapphire Birch. Capturing her is of utmost importance and having less resistance fodder assisting her will only serve to better our chances, is that clear?

"That is clear"
sighed Mikhail, pulling his head away from the scope. Chances of him having a clear shot were slim to none, not with all that smoke making it hard to pinpoint his target and especially not with the arrival of a Garchomp and the diminutive shark figure that Mikhail had heard rumours about. Things were about to get real messy down there and firing off bolts into that soon to begin chaos would not be the most ideal of choices.

"Artemis, until that smoke clears, we are effectively powerless to get a good shot in. So for now, focus on scouring the streets for other resistance members that may interfere. Aegis, remain on guard on the floor below. Should we be the ones about to be ambushed, then you have my permission to engage. I will keep my eyes on the rooftops. The last thing we need is a resistance sniper".

As Mikhail said this, the battle scene in front of them had soon burst into life, Admin Jay taking the initiative.

Sapphire Birch (Kugasa Karasuna)
Goldenrod - Somewhere between Nova HQ and Department Store, Johto

1b3f0536c265227b8b17d45bc07ad66b.jpg

Kugasa watched silently as the clearly annoyed stranger, who had just referred to her as a child, left the second barrier of [protect] it created as a defense for both trainers against further incoming bullets …in order to challenge Jay Rayne to a duel. The first had been struck and shattered by a familiar, sickly orange light in condensed bullet form. Powerful. More powerful than the average Starburst grunt toy. Even with red smoke blurring her vision somewhat, Kugasa wasn’t deaf. She could still make out their relative positions based on their voice, the sound of their footsteps, gunfire, etc. Ninjas like her were trained to operate in the darkness, after all…and the art of ninjutsu, an array of skills that emphasized survival so they could complete their (often secret) missions. Using smoke for cover was a common tactic as well—ones all her pokemon were familiar with, whether it be for escape or otherwise.

As expected, Jay refused the request of man with a poisoned dagger.

Cautious. No-nonsense. Efficient. A tendency to lie as well. Those were the traits she’d picked up from listening to him thus far. She found it amusing that he complained about being alone when he was joined with another Nova grunt not long after—a cute girl with a trident. Likely the one Alan had been talking about. She noted the way the Admin’s attitude seemed to sour at the newly arrived Garchomp. If it was only Jay and his team alone, she wouldn’t mind staying to stall him with pokemon battles. It was the sort of thing that Edelweiss girl would’ve come up with. Assuming each one lasted at most 5 minutes, it’d only be 4 battles—not even an entire team back in the old days. Win or lose, she only had to buy twenty minutes. Yet the cloaked stranger’s intervention and the Admin’s rampant firing of Starburst didn’t make that idea very feasible. Not that she blamed them. During times of war, those notions like those were only for the idealistic.

And now she was being targeted by two large predators as well. Ace and Supes. Kuga wasn’t even going to pretend to know which was which.

Even as silently as she moved through the smoke to encircle Nova Admin Jay—and hopefully find an opportunity break gun in his hand before he could continue his wholely accurate aiming—the Norvern still found her. It was to be expected of a pokemon’s senses really—especially one that’s been trained. The gardevoir called Sol likely knew where she was as well, given the aura of psychic energy that layered the field. Even small pokemon like Spinarak had excellent senses when it came to incoming danger—a spider pokemon’s instincts, she supposed.

Sonic waves bounced off the semi-transparent barrier shielding her as Kugasa ducked behind what looked to be a house and pulled out two pokeballs, releasing the two ninjas inside. A surprisingly large—for its species at least—dinosaur-looking creature with a plant on its back emerged. On top it, a smaller bipedal amphibian with its tongue wrapped around its neck stood, its arms folded.

“Venusaur, I need you to block out one of the eyes watching us with Grassy Terrain. Greninja, cover us in case anyone attacks,” Kugasa ordered quietly as she jumped on Venasuar’s back.

Venusaur’s body glowed green and grass grew from its feet, like weeds on the street, to cover the field, dispersing the psychic energy in the air as it replaced it with its own floral energy. It was only a matter of time until the smoke dispersed and more Nova grunts swarmed the source of chaos, especially with two flying pokemon roaming the skies. Smoke wasn't very effective against creatures that could generate wind. Still it wasn’t entirely useless, so she threw more smoke bombs. Around Venusaur. In the direction of Jay’s voice. In that sense, the wall of fire blocking her paths of escape created by Jay’s talonflame was somewhat of a help as well. It kept her in, but it also served as a deterrent to keep others out.

While in disguise as Sapphire, Kuga was very aware of the fact that she painted a target on her back. That was the point of a decoy, and Kugasa didn’t mind (though she preferred not to) being “caught” for sake of the mission’s success…but it’d barely been 5 bloody minutes since her encounter with the Nova Admin Jay. As good at disguises as Kuga was, she didn’t doubt her identity would be discovered not long after…which would defeat the purpose of her being in disguise in the first place. Gengar still hadn’t returned from when she told it to search for Sapphire and Platinum, which meant two possibilities: her sneaky shadow pokemon had been captured or it had yet to find Platinum and Sapphire.

The first option was a bad outcome and Kugasa didn't know whether the latter was a good thing or not.

“As always, protect each other and watch for orange lights, but don't hesitate to flee if it starts to look to dangerous or I get captured.” That was a ninjas life. There was always a risk of getting killed or captured during an operation…but it was a life she’d chosen for herself. The same couldn’t exactly be said of her pokemon, despite what she said to Blue. She was the one that trained them to be ninjas, back when the Fuchsia Gym's ninja school was still active, after all. The bond they built was one of master and students.

Meanwhile, an explosion that sounded like thunder echoed where her noisiest pokemon fought with Jay’s Gardevoir. Dust billowed when Toxtricity was psykinetically high lifted into the air and forced hard into the (now grass covered) ground. Though it had managed to shoot a bolt of lightening to the ground to soften the blow somewhat, the tiny crater that formed from the resulting impact didn’t look painless either. With the height Toxitricity had been lifted, no normal human would’ve survived. The sound of gears cranking could be heard as Toxtricity slowly got up, shaking its head to clear away the dizziness as it used [Gear Shift]. Glaring at Gardevoir as its body crackled with electricity—the sound of which was a bit like a running engine—, Kuga’s second fastest pokemon—whose speed was a contender for Greninja—shot towards Sol like a bolt of lightening and sending a flurry of [Poison Jab]s its way. While Kugasa would have liked to give her full attention to Toxtricity’s battle as its trainer, and didn’t want to interfere unfairly in a battle that Toxtricity clearly wanted to win, Jay/Gardevoir’s usage of Starburst bullets was too dangerous to ignore. While Kuga kept an eye on the interaction between the two Nova officers and the dark cloaked man, with specific attention to the gun and trident that she could somewhat make out through the red (Viktor's) and white smoke (Kuga's), Greninja and Venusaur kept an eye on the two flying blurs circling above them, the latter remaining as motionless as a tree...unless something forced it to move of course.

Kugasa still felt like eyes were watching her, which kept her on edge, but honestly, it was hard to say whether those eyes belonged to pokemon or human. Either way there wasn’t much she could do about it. Attempting to burst through the flames and forcing the Nova Admin to give a chase was certainly through the city was certainly another option that could buy time and stall Jay, but she had no intention of abandoning the civilian that helped her. Why he would try to help a terrorist wanted in the Johto Region was a question she wanted answered, but that could wait until the mess they were in was over.

Goldenrod City, Johto

Porygon2 was keeping itself busy exploring the various subsystems that allowed a bird-shaped chunk of metal to fly through the air when a Porygon-Z just appeared out of nowhere inside the jet's internal systems. It immediately went on full-alert and took aim at the trespasser with Lock-On. The Porygon-Z didn't seem like it was about to attack, in fact it seemed just about as surprised by its sudden appearance as Porygon2 was, but Blue had left Porygon2 with the explicit direction to protect the plane.

While Porygon2 struggled to decide whether it should disable the plane right now, the safer option, or try to eliminate the Porygon-Z on its own, the Porygon-Z emitted a signal to someone at another location. "!" Porygon2 had messed up by hesitating, and now the enemy could track the signal back to the plane's exact location. Porygon2 deleted all the doubt blockers from its active program and fired off a full-power Zap Cannon at the trespasser that had now been reclassified as a threat in Porygon2's database. Battling inside the plane's systems would most likely damage it to the point of inoperability, but that was the order Blue given his pokemon. The longer it took Nova to fix the thing if they did get their hands on the plane the better.

Green, disguised as Lady Platinum, dove into another alleyway as a blast of water tore down the street behind her. As expected, Admin Rayne had planted his Vaporeon down in front of the entrance to Nova HQ. That strange move it used made the single pokemon way too effective at locking down an entire area, and Green didn't have a good way of dealing with it on her own. But it wasn't like the Vaporeon could be everywhere inside that cloud of mist at once. Green just had to wait for its focus to shift, indicated by it attacking them since she couldn't even see where the Vaporeon's body was inside the fog, and then she could make for the entrance. As difficult as the clouds made it for her and the other Resistance members to see, the Team nova grunts should be blind as well to see her coming through the fog. She could make it.

An arrow deflected off the brick wall too close to where Green was hiding for her to relax. Right. She could make it to the door, so long as she took out the Team nova sniper that had his eyes on her first. Another Hydro Pump from somewhere inside that blanket of mist barreled down the alley Green was hiding in. "Shit, it's too narrow to dodge." Green grabbed one of her pokeballs. "Jiggly!" Her partner Wigglytuff appeared to block the wall of water, but before it could another pokemon landed in front of it and blocked the attack with Protect. Green was about to be thankful to whichever Resistance member had assisted her until she noticed the blank expression on the Reuniclus that had protected her. It was a StarBurst pokemon. Green immediately grew suspicious, along with a mix of other emotions that rose up whenever she was faced with the results of StarBurst being used on a pokemon. "Jiggly, Tri-Attack!" A glowing triangle appeared around Green's Wigglytuff before three glowing beams shot into the sky at the Nova sniper flying above on their bird pokemon.

While the Reuniclus has the Vaporeon's attention and the sniper was distracted dodging, Green tossed down a smoke bomb and had Ditty Transform her face from lady Platinum to a random Team Nova grunt as she recalled her Wigglytuff. She stripped off her wig and dumped it and Platinum's clothes unceremoniously in the alley - Green prayed to Arceus their owner would never find out - and ran out of the smoke and fog looking easily passable as a Nova grunt that had gotten turned around in the mist. Even with the new disguise, the Team Nova grunts still guarding the building's entrance almost shot her before seeing she was dressed like they were. The faces of relief as they pulled her behind them into the "safety" of the HQ building turned Green's stomach, but she was far too practiced an actor to let that show on her face. No alarms went off and none of the grunts suddenly turned to shoot her, so Green assumed that meant Ditty's stolen face had tricked the facial-recognition watching everyone that entered the building. She was in.

Viktor "The Emperor"

5688-1841060616.jpg

Goldenrod - Near Nova HQ

This was all falling apart rather quickly, not that Viktor had expected anything different. Cain and the Toxtricity were fighting a losing battle; Cain was nearly struck by the two fired Starburst shots from Admin Jay; more of Team Nova arrived; Viktor and Sapphire's(?) escape was cut off, and now the older man had to throw himself at the dirt littered floor to narrowly avoid being struck by the Elektross's [Thunder Wave]. The frustration Viktor felt as he picked himself off of the street, like a lowly beggar, caused the bearded man's blood to boil. "You're weak. Not even worth killing." A distant voice from a distant memory taunted Viktor, eliciting a soft growl from him. I knew it would be difficult to assist the Birch girl, yet I did not anticipate this. Wine red eyes hardened as Viktor's free hand pulled out the other Pokeball he had clipped to the back of his belt. Though, I suppose it is my fault for acting soft in the presence of the young ones. Rushed footsteps brought Viktor closer to the blonde haired man before him and directly within the path of the Elektross's next attack. I shall rectify that mistake now. His scarred hand threw the Pokeball, launching the device straight at Jay's face while Viktor's feet brought him ever closer towards the other man, showing no intention of stopping.

The thrown ball opened up directly in front of the Team Nova Admin's face, but the Pokemon inside appeared behind the man. "Pandora, Toxic." The bearded man spoke calmly as the teal blue frog did as he ordered. Pandora let out a loud, gurgling croak to churn the lethal poison stored in the sac below her chin before she vomited out pure purple liquid. Though, the liquid did not hit Jay, the Elektross, the Gardevoir, or even Sapphire's(?) Toxtricity. Instead, the deadly poison struck the chrome and crimson form of Cain, coating the Pokemon with the purple liquid as the battered Bisharp quickly rushed towards the blonde haired man just in time to receive Viktor's next order. "Metal Claw, Cain." Viktor and his Bisharp were both on a collision course with Jay and the Elektross wrapped around the blonde haired man. Both the Pokemon and the bearded man wielded weapons that were slick with Pandora's poison, which was more than capable of sending even a Mamoswine into cardiac arrest if it made it into the bloodstream. However, mere moments before reaching Jay's position, Viktor made a stutter step, allowing him to dip away from the other man and run directly by the Nova Admin's left hand side while Cain struck from the right. This movement firmly placed Viktor behind Admin Jay, away from the new arrival, Garchomp and had the bearded man safely set beside Pandora. Now, with his new positioning behind Jay, Viktor felt confident enough to swing his poisoned Dagger at the powerful trainer before him. The purple coated Dagger neared the more exposed section of Team Nova Admin's back. Then, with a sickening squelch, the Dagger plunged into Jay. "Breathe." Viktor advised the other man as he shoved the blade further into Jay's flesh.

Laurel watched as Blue shouted over the roar of the engines, as he relayed strategies, warnings, even more warnings, he had to deflect some guy's remarks about danger, some talking about ninjas, whatever, it didn't matter to her. Everyone could else would do a good enough job being a distraction while she got her work done. She wasn't making any progress on her work, maybe, maybe if she went in there she could find more information about these damn machines and how they worked! FUcKiNg HelL.

She had a motive for being here. An alternative motive for her whole participation. Sure she would help with the infiltration part of this thing, but she had her plan, and she was bound to follow it. So when the plane landed, she took off, running straight for Goldenrod. Being a natural born resident of Johto, and having gone to Goldenrod many times before, she knew her way around without a care in the world, just walking along like she owned the place. This was her goddamn region, she wasn't going to squabble in the shadows like some kind of criminal! Nobody paid attention to you if you acted like you belonged.

But she did need something for her plan- A disguise. More specifically, a Nova Grunt uniform. Something that would allow eyes to pass over her easily without being suspicious. So, she waited. Waited in an alley for an unsuspecting young grunt to walk passed her alley, and-
The trap sprung, a tranquilizer dart stuck into someone's clavicle, and after a couple minutes of struggling, Laurel had a brand new, slightly used Nova Grunt uniform. Perhaps a bit too big, perhaps a miniskirt is a ridiculous thing to make your Evil Team uniform, but oh well, stripping in an alleyway was always on her bucketlist. Toooootally.

“I hate everything about this crop-top/miniskirt combo, but oh well!” She muttered, watching as things started to spiral out of control as the resistance clashed with Nova. She needed to find a group of Nova Grunts to blend into. Lo and behold a group of them was mobilizing not too far away, looking ready to run passed. So, while waiting for them to pass by, she shook out all her nerves, and smacked her face a couple times.
"You are a Team Nova Grunt. Probably new. You have been defending the base. You are retreating to the HQ to arm yourself better because you're a fucking idiot and forgot to grab LOADED clips for your pistol, you dipshit!" She said to herself, building a character on the spot and talking herself through her plan. "You are going to get into that building, pretend your supposed to be thre, find a computer, hack in, and start to just go nuts with downloading files. Then, get out. Evac to somewhere outside of the city. And get an Abra back to the Resistance. Simple! ... Right. I am an absolute idiot."

She waited for a moment, before dashing out directly behind the group of grunts that ran by. She hoped to just assimilate into the group, thinking her disguise would turn her into just a face in the crowd, but it didn't take long for that plan to go a little off-kilter when the Resistance started to shoot. Which was fine, it let her blend in better with the chaos, but someone nearby screamed and when she glanced over, she saw a grunt, fuck, maybe sixteen, fall over with a spurting wound on his thigh, screaming like a kicked animal. And she saw an even better opportunity. She ran right over to him and hauled him to his feet.
"Get up, soldier, you're not done yet!" She said, practically dragging the kid out of the fire zone.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH IT HURTS!" The kid screamed.
"Yeah, I bet it does! I would hate to be in your shoes!" Laurel replied, dragging him further.

She dragged him towards the HQ, taking note of the small child dressed like a shark defending the main entrance, and for a moment she forgot to keep a straight face and was just confused. Nova was recruiting children??? First the goddamn 16-year-old boy, now this... what? 12 year old? What the hell were they thinking?
"Who are you?" The kid asked as she continued hauling him away.
"Uhhh, Jessica ....Newbury. I'm new, I just started working like a week ago when I got the uniform!" She said, almost too cheerily, trying to take cues from the grunts around her to figure out how to go into the building with her injured teen. "I'm from Ecruteak!"
"I started... today?"

OH THANK FUCK, he won't know anyone. "Oof, thats unfortunate. Welcome to Team Nova!" She remarked, finally noticing that injured grunts were being dragged in a different direction. So she moved away from the front door, taking note of the strange-looking shark child and instead made her way to the side of the building, where the injured were being dragged. From there she snuck into the building and handed him off to a bunch of medics. She waited for a moment to see if they instructed her further, before deciding to fade into the background and run off.

Now just stay under the radar, pretend that you're supposed to be here. Find leads, probably a computer... and get out. Simple, right?
Oh, the situations she puts herself into.

Nikita
Location: Island home

A few days after making the Charcoal Nikita had her pipes ready, it had taken longer than she had expected. Really there was no easier way for her to make pipes and the bamboo had to be fully scraped or the water wouldn't flow right. Still she had gotten it done and when she wasn't scraping she had done lighter work namely weaving. Using smaller sections of bamboo cut and spilt into smaller strips of tough but flexible material. The creation was simple enough just weaving many strands down into a square. Then weaving more bamboo strips into circles slowly moving up in concentric circles. This would create baskets that could hold the charcoal she had made for latter use in something other than a pile on the ground. With that safe and stored in her hut she could focus on the pipeline. Well she could focus on building it as she had managed to scrape enough bamboo to make the journey form the waterfall to here.

Making the pipeline was easy enough using rocks she made a semicircle with the first tube in the center. A bamboo weaved net was in front of of the damn to keep random stuff out of it. The pipe would have running water before the rest was constructed. It was to make sure the links were all solid and that the water flowed correctly. There was also a trick to the pipes in that they needed to be in an alternating pattern. Large, small, larges and repeated. this allowed them all to be hammered together and form a fairly tight seal. The seal was finished by adding some river clay that would keep the water in. There was also elevation to consider as while the water would flow even if it was level thanks to the river at the back forcing water into it, a slope made that much faster. This was also a reason for using a more stepped waterfall as Nikita could select a decently high area to start and with her house already being on lower ground it would add the extra bit of flow she wanted. The pipes were easy enough to support a Y shaped stick could hold them up if driven into the ground properly, the flowing water softening the soil up so the driving got deeper with less force but would dry more stable. Where a stick could not be driven into the ground by hand a simple pile of mostly flat rocks did well enough to hold the pipe section up.

The final stretch by her house had to be built away from the house proper by a slope so the water could run down and away. Being on a slope was not exactly a good place to bathe so Nikita would need more bamboo to make a platform. The platform started with three full bamboo tubes laid from a more flat area of the slope over the slightly steeper slope. Then small bits of bamboo were roughly measure cut in half and laid over the three. None of this was right under where the shower would be and that was fine as Nikita planned have more than one release for the water. Then three smaller sections were placed over the half tubes and tined down onto the three beams below. with a little bit of work this provided a solid enough foundation, though Nikita found some rocks to put below the bamboo platform to try to hold the soil there just in case.

The pipe line done and the platform complete Nikita could finish the last part the actual shower part. The main part of it was a much thicker bamboo tube with three holes cut into it. The highest up was for the water going in with one not to far above where Nikita would stand and then one near the bottom of the tube pointed in another direction to avoid hitting the soil directly around it. The final steps were easy enough shove two more hollow bamboo tube into the holes, all the while having the water flowing into it. any leaks would be clocked by pushing in bits of plant fiber into the seams with some flattened wood till it stopped. operation was easy enough if she clogged the lower tube with a bundle of plant leaves and such that would fill up the main tube till if flowed into the top tube and down onto Nikita. With the middle shower tube being a bit smaller than the bottom or intake there would be a bit of pressure so it wouldn't shoot out a short distance so Nikita didn't have to be right under it.

With the shower done, Nikita could rest and enjoy it the full construction having taken over a week to finish with everything else she needed to do. She deserved a bit of rest and relaxation after that and to enjoy her shower and the ability to easily clean clothes and food. This would have all been faster with better tools, and that was next on her list, and after that she would improve her home making it out of more than twigs and grass. That however really needed metal tools for her to make it alone, as while she could do it with stone it was the much harder route.

Inside Nova HQ, Goldenrod City, Johto

Kirly, Sapphire's Gallade, barreled down the hallway deep within Team Nova HQ just ahead of his trainer. Just because Sapphire could beat a Nova grunt senseless with her bare hands didn't mean she was immune to a grunt with a gun waiting around the next corner to get off a lucky shot. Kirly could sense danger ahead with his psychic power only slightly better than Sapphire's sharp instincts, but he'd be able to react far quicker, or in the worst case he'd be able to take the hit for her. He'd already sensed one such ambush, a pair of grunts with guns in wait as he and his trainer had burst into the hall, but he'd been able to throw up a Quick Guard to block the bullets and knock out both with a Throat Chop and False Swipe, tossing them into a side room without Sapphire even having to slow down her mad dash deeper into the depths of this evil place. So it was as shocking to Kirly as it was to the Team Nova scientist when he barreled around the next corner and nearly slammed into her at full speed without sensing her there at all. The woman was dressed in a Team Nova lab coat, with long black hair and blue eyes wide in shock behind thick glasses. The Gallade flipped off the wall to stop its momentum and hooked its blade around the woman's neck before she could scream.

"Wait!" Kirly stopped whatever it was about to do as Sapphire skidded to a stop in front of the shaking Team Nova woman. She looked at the name on the woman's coat: Nox. "You, what's your name?"

The woman looked like she was on the verge of passing out or having a panic attack, but managed to remember her own name somehow. "D-Dominique. Dominique Nox. I-I'm just a lab aide. Please, I don't want to fight, just don't hurt me!"

Sapphire didn't remember Nox as one of the names the Resistance had on file of Team Nova scientists, but there was such a glaring lack of information when it came to Team Nova's R&D departments that was hardly surprising. The woman didn't have a Starburst gauntlet on her arms or inside her lab coat when she obeyed Sapphire telling her to show she wasn't hiding a weapon on her. "Fine, you'll do." Kirly moved his blade to the woman's back and pointed her down the hall. "Lead me to the cells where your group keeps important prisoners," Sapphire's voice spoke into the terrified woman's ear. "Try anything funny and you'll be left on the floor for the janitor to clean up later, got it?"

Platinum was making similar progress through the Team Nova building, but as soon as she found stairs she headed up instead of further down. While taking a second to catch her breath on the stairs she asked the red-haired maid about the situation on the surface. She was shown a vision of Admin Jay fighting a dark man she didn't recognize along with a person dressed like Sapphire. That was probably Green, she was always disguising herself as someone else during missions. So the one admin they knew would be home was out dealing with attack on the surface, seemingly unaware of the real infiltration that had already happened. No signs of Admin Celene, which was a blessing but also left a constant feeling of dread in the back of the mind. Just because she hadn't acted yet didn't mean she wouldn't the longer this chaos continued. The vision of the surface ended. Platinum hadn't really been able to catch her breath while seeing that, but she had to keep moving. Curse her lifestyle for not giving her the infinite stamina Sapphire had.

The sign inside the stairwell said she'd come from B6F. If the information from one of the spies the Resistance had managed to plant inside Nova was accurate, the floor just above should be where there were a bunch of server and electrical rooms. She wasn't good enough with technology to tell what was important and what wasn't in a room full of servers, so stealing important data was probably impossible, but at the very least she could try to make getting out a little bit easier by knocking out the building's power.

She found the right room easy enough - the majority of the B5 floor was just one massive server room - and had send out her Pachirisu to use Discharge and fry as many of the stacks of blinking electronics as she could, when Lopunny reacting to something Platinum's human ears couldn't hear made her freeze and hide behind a row of servers. The room was so loud that Lopunny hadn't been able to hear anyone approaching until the door of the room had opened. A Nova grunt had come in, but they hadn't seen Platinum it seemed. It seemed like they were looking for something though. "Pachirisu, Nuzzle," she directed her pokemon to sneak up on the grunt and paralyze them.

The electric squirrel run along the top of the server racks, jumped onto the shelves holding the countless wires flowing into the room like veins, and then dropped down onto the surprised grunt's shoulder, pressing its static-filled face against theirs and delivering a paralyzing shock. Platinum let out a relieved sigh as Pachirisu jumped to the floor, its job done, but the Nova grunt didn't react like a person suddenly paralyzed should. They'd been surprised for sure, but they didn't seem shocked at all. The grunt raised both hands without turning around. "Attacking first, I like it. Shows you're finally learning how real fights work, Plats."

Lopunny realized who the speaker was from their voice before its trainer did and lowered its guard. Platinum took a few seconds longer to work it out, especially since reality conflicted with her assumption of who it was up on the surface pretending to be Sapphire. "Green?"

"In the flesh darlin'," Green had Ditty shift a little to show it was really her. Ditty had been the one to take Pachirisu's Nuzzle, but thankfully its own Limber had prevented it from being paralyzed. It would not do for Green's stolen face to suddenly look like she'd suffered a stroke. That would probably raise some suspicions when she tried to walk back out the front door. "But you know, I probably couldn't have gotten in so easily if I was an enemy, what with you-know-who standing guard outside the door."

Platinum was so relived to see Green or at least hear her voice. This whole time she'd been feeling desperate and more than a little out of her depth. She'd been so on edge when someone had come in that she'd completely forgotten that she'd had the red-haired maid - actually the pokemon Latias - standing watch in the hall to prevent random Nova grunts from walking in... exactly like Green had done. Green had a good point there. Platinum should have noticed something was off if Latias had let a random grunt inside.

Ditty Transformed into an angry demon mask. " I kind of hoped you'd tell me at least, even if you didn't want to tell Blue, before running off and doing something stupid. Something stupid like this. But that's an argument we can settle after we've gotten out of this place. Tell me what your plan in here was."

"Sorry," was all Platinum could say about her not telling Green that she'd planned to help Sapphire behind Blue's back. She'd assumed that Green's friendship with blue was stronger than anything towards her or Sapphire or Ruby. They'd have a long talk after all this was over. But right now getting out was the more pressing issue. "Pachirisu was going to use Discharge to cause as much damage in here as possible to cover Sapphire and I escaping with Ruby."

"It's a start, I guess." Green took out her pokegear, which was displaying a timer counting down with a little over ten minutes left. "The signal to retreat will be sent out when this hits zero. That gives us ten minutes to grab as much data off these servers as we can." She pulled a handful of data stick from inside her shirt, and then a rectangular thing from her back. Platinum had knows Green to be one of the best the Resistance had when it came to infiltration and spy work, but she had no idea how Green managed to keep so many tools and supplies on her when she was constantly changing disguises. Green tossed Platinum a couple of the data sticks. "We don't know what data's stored where, so spread out where you plug these in. Partial data of maybe something important is better than full data of something unimportant. All we can do is hope we get lucky. And as for this," she picked up the rectangle.

"A bomb?" Platinum guessed the only thing she could think of.

"Not quite. I'm not willing to keep something that can get me blown up on my body. I leave that dangerous stuff to crazy people."

Platinum thought sneaking alone into Team nova HQ through the front door was something most crazy people would consider dangerous, but she didn't say that aloud.

"It's a thing... I forget what he called it, but it absorbs electricity and then releases it later. Like if I get shocked it absorbs that and then I can throw it back. It's still being tested, so it's not perfect, but it should work for us here."

"What for?" Platinum felt like she was missing something.

"If you shut down this place and then try to escape, you'll meet all the grunts coming down here to figure out the problem. If we have Pachirisu charge this thing up while we're downloading the data, we can meet up with Sapphire and Ruby, get closer to the exit, and then get out when the thing blows."

"Okay," Platinum nodded. Leave it to Blue and Green to show up to help even when she'd gone behind their back to do everything herself.

The old man circled around behind Jay as his Bisharp closed the gap to cut the Team Nova Admin with its Venom-laden blade. Of the two, it was far more important to avoid a touch from the Bisharp. "Invidia, Magnet Rise." The Eelektross pushed the full weight of itself and its trainer against the Bisharp's metal body, pushing it to the ground and using the recoil to throw Jay away and into the air. The move brought him into contact with the old man's knife, but it was far from the first time Jay's reckless actions had gotten him injured. The admin dripped blood from his wound as he retreated from the ground. "Supes, use Defog!" The Noivern swooped down and sent a strong blast of wind across the battlefield. The smoke was blown away, along with the Grassy Terrain that had begin spreading across the ground, finally giving Jay a clear view of his opponents. The old man was attempting to flee it looked like, but Acedia's wall of fire had blocked off his escape. Good, he needed to be repaid for the blood he'd drawn. Solitaire's fight was taking too long, he needed to break her out of that 1-v-1 she'd been taunted into.

"Ir-" Jay caught himself. "Garchomp! Dragon Breath at the Gardevoir and then take the girl and return to base!" The StarBurst gauntlet on his wrist flashed as his authority as Admin overrode the grunt's control over the pokemon. The land-shark fired a blast of dragon fire at Solitaire, who of course sidestepped the attack without looking thanks to her Telepathy keeping her aware of all her allies attacks, leaving the Toxtricity to deal with the Garchomp's attack while Solitaire instead slammed the Toxicroak the old man had sent out with Psychic power.

"Invidia, we're shooting to kill, Ion Deluge." Electricity crackled around the Eelektross and its trainer it was wrapped around. Jay raised his gun again, now crackling with electricity. Jay took aim and fired. The electrically-charged bullet flew out of the end of Jay's small revolver like it wad been launched from a railgun and hit the ground near the Bisharp, leaving a deep hole into the ground. For all the noise and force behind the bullet it may as well have been a bolt of lightning striking down. "Tch, didn't account for the recoil while airborne." He adjusted his aim for the next shot. "Ace, Acrobatics! Get the woman!" He fired a charged bullet directly at the Greninja standing guard over the woman playing Sapphire Birch as Acedia dove with its usual reckless speed and tumbled through the air right through the group of pokemon and bullets. If it got its talons into its prey, it'd release her almost immediately, using its built up speed to throw the woman at the solid wall of the building behind her. Jay fired three more charged shots in a less-controlled spray at the Greninja and Venusaur to cover Ace's attack, the latter of the two being a much larger and less mobile target to aim for without waiting for his body to stabilize between shots. His final shot was saved for the old man, which Jay had a relatively clear conscience about pulling the trigger on.

Sapphire Birch (Kugasa Karasuna)
Goldenrod, Johto

1b3f0536c265227b8b17d45bc07ad66b.jpg

Kugasa managed to see the dark cloaked stranger plunge a dagger—which she knew to be poisoned based on the scent she’d caught coming from the sheath earlier—into Jay Rayne using a combination of quick movements and pokemon in a triple assault as Rayne shot to the sky. Yet the Nova Admin was still conscious enough to give out orders. Must be a slow-acting poison, Kugasa, who bore the title of Poison Mistress, thought, as the fog of smoke was lifted and grass on the streets wilted from Novern’s defog. Moments later, Kugasa felt talons the back of her shirt and she suddenly found herself in the air, hurled at break neck pace towards the house behind her.

She gripped her hat to keep the wig from flying off.

Yet there was no sound of a crash or cracking of a spine. An aura of pink encased Kugasa as she suddenly stopped, barely an inch away from the wall as Spinarak used [Psychic] to save its trainer from what would’ve been a painful impact. Kugasa glanced at the flame-colored predator called ‘Ace’ that was sent after her, having no desire to try and fight/stab a pokemon if she could help it—especially one as quick as Jay’s talonflame seemed to be. While Spinarak glared menacingly at the larger pokemon that threatened them, Kugasa spoke loudly so her noisiest pokemon could hear her. “Tag in, Toxtricity. Use Shock Wave on the talonflame.”

Toxtricity, who’d been rapidly jabbing at Sol (or at least attempting to), was forced stop and flip backwards into the air, as a beam of bluish-whitish came energy from behind the gardevoir. Hearing its trainer, and seeing that Sol was no longer interested in a 1x1—what with its attention on holding Toxicroak down—blitz to cut between the red bird and its trainer, slamming the flying type with a powerful bolt of electricity while still in gear shift mode.

Meanwhile, Greninja, whose task was to cover his allies against any and all attacks, performed a quick series of handsigns before its webbed fingers slammed into Venasaur’s back as soon as the smoke covering them was dispersed. In a puff of smoke, tatami mats appeared as Kugasa’s ninja pokemon used [Mat Block] to cover its allies from the electric-powered bullets that came at them. One in front to Venasaur and itself. One in front of the dark cloaked trainer. Even one in front of Toxtricity and Kugasa, in case they needed it. At that same instant, a volley of large, spinning [Razor Leaf]s shot out from behind the tatami mat at blinding speeds towards the flying human that attacked them, each one with the strength to slice a gun--and probably a person--in half. Her pokemon were familiar with collaborating with each other whether she gave them orders or not, especially in the current era of pokemon war where weakness meant being hit by a mind-wiping orange light.

“We're retreating!” Kugasa called loudly, finally seeing the tiny sniper from atop the department store now that the smoke was gone. Kicking off the wall and flipping back onto Venusaur’s back, along with Toxtricity who followed its trainer—while keeping its eye on the talonflame—Kugasa motioned for the dark cloaked stranger—who had more weapons that a normal civilian should—to climb on…though it was up to him in that regard. Coming with a wanted terrorist had its own repercussions. Kugasa was done. It’d taken 10 minutes to find her costume. At least 5 minutes since her contact with Admin Jay. Retreating out of the city should take another 5 or 10 minutes. Plenty of the time for the girls to find Ruby and leave. Alan should’ve notified Blue of her situation as well.

Releasing her final pokemon, the ninja said simply. “Use tailwind, Crobat.”

Crobat flapped its wings, whipping up turbulent winds to surround them and push aside some of the flames as Venusaur burst through the wall of fire. “SAAAAAAAAUUUUUR!!!!”

Crouching behind the plant on venusaur’s back, along with most of her other pokemon except for Crobat who simply flew above to keep an eye on things from the sky, Kugasa could feel the heat from the intensity of talonflame’s fire, but it was mitigated somewhat by the winds that whipped up around her, increasing the speed of her largest pokemon as it barreled towards the city’s exit, leaping over piles of dead bodies, and snatching up any resistance member that looked like they might need help along the way with its vines. She tightened her grip on the hat, so the wig wouldn't fall off...yet anyway.

Alexander Reed

It was one of the most tense moments of Alexander's relatively short life. Lying there, pinned to the ground by one Nova Grunt as another that Lucas seemed to know somehow stood over them.

So the last thing he expected was for things to get even crazier. But they did, as he was suddenly nabbed by the vine of a passing Venusaur. Which would have been great, not being pinned down by two enemies anymore is almost always a good sign, except for the fact that one of the aforementioned grunts were still with him.

Asha, the blonde woman who had been pinning him to the ground prior, clung tightly against him. So tightly that when Alex was pulled away, she came along for the ride. Fortunately, she seemed just as surprised as he was at the sudden development.

Taking advantage of that confusion, Alexander nailed her with a sharp knee to the gut followed by a headbutt to the nose. However, it was not enough to break her grip. Blood ran from her nose as they continued to struggle in the air, suspended only by a single vine around the Resistance member's waist.

Alex had one advantage in this scuffle however; a very large knife. A very large knife that he jammed right into her shoulder. One that he was sad to see go as both Asha and the knife dropped into a tumble across the blacktop. Once the woman was out of sight, he raised a hand to his ear. The communicator was still there.

Alexander reporting in,” the young man sighed heavily into the microphone, “you owe me an explanation when I get back Lucas"

On the other end of the comms, Lucas and Specs shared a sigh of relief they would later both deny happened.

The most immediate threat taken care of, Alexander gave the vine a thankful pat. “I don’t know who you are, but you sure saved my bacon pal"

Quite a ways back Franklin stood, unmoving and completely at a loss in the face of what had just happened. One second the son of the person he had hated more than any other, the son of the man he had killed, sat at his mercy. The next, he was gone. Snatched up by a passing Venusaur ridden by what appeared to be some kind of ninja.

On his knees and lurching over, Fitz had just about completely emptied the contents of his stomach; he bile covering the street reeking of this mornings meal; Porridge, orange juice accompanied by banana chunks were the main ingredients of this masterful mess that he had hurled. It was an inevitable fate for Fitz, the unfortunate soul losing his battle against himself as the sights around him were far too overwhelming; especially for a man who had only intended to get the phone number of two beautiful ladies. Being caught up in war was not on todays agenda, nor was watching his fellow comrades completely murk the Nova Grunts.

It was a good few minutes before the ginger haired and ghostly pale man found the courage to move; the prostrated man forcing himself to crawl over to the sidewalk. As was the price for having a fragile stomach, Fitz found his body weakened from the vomiting and his head experiencing a wave of dizziness. To anyone watching, it was quite evident that Fitz was not built for this line of work.

Meanwhile, during this pathetic showing, Vinci -[ Fitz trusted Smeargle ] - had taken the liberty of sauntering over to a nearby alley wall. Rather than keeping watch over his trainer or showing some sympathy for the state he was in, the artisan had instead found his attention drawn to a far more important issue. Vinci as any proud smeargle, had taken offence to the sight of some alley way graffiti. The shambolic piece of art had depicted a giant trubbish looming over the fallen bodies of several resistance fighters.

Annoyed, not by the message the image sent, but rather by the obvious lack of artistic talent behind the painting. Vinci using his own artistic freedom had begun to paint over this mess; first covering the image in white to start fresh before using his nearby surroundings for inspiration; of course at Fitz's expense. What was once an image of pokemon domination, was now a masterful close up portrait of Fitz; a front facing view of the orange haired youth; his mouth ajar and in mid puke as the rainbow hue of bile could be just about seen from the darkness that was his maw. Of course the image was done in abstract, but to those that knew Fitz, the resemblance was undeniable.

It was as Vinci had just finished signing his latest artwork, that a group of resistance fighters had arrived on the scene, 4 to be exact, though whether the fourth was alive or dead was not clear as his limp body was presently being held upright by two of the others; the remaining member of the quartet being the one on guard to any potential attack from Nova. Stopping in their tracks as they surveyed the scene before them; it took them a good few seconds to realize that Fitz was sat across the road; head in hands as he breathed heavily. It almost looked like he had exhausted himself from a big fight and was now recovering from it; a misunderstanding that would soon cause relief to wash over the 3 conscious new arrivals; in front of them was a strong ally that would help in their retreat.

Quickly crossing the street, the presence of the resistance fighters was only noted by Fitz as their feet appeared in his field of view; the ginger haired man still looking downward onto the street as he tried to find some semblance of composure.

"A.. amazing... I don't even see a single resistance body..." murmured one of the two holding the unconscious man. "Yeah.. I know... but look at that... his face... its... I might just vomit..." spoke the only female of the quartet, her free hand rising to her mouth as she tried to contain her own bowels. "Then don't look at it..." came the response from the other.

Whilst the two bickered, the man on guard for potential attacks had knelt down in front of Fitz, the man surprised by the sight around him but not letting it deter him from their current objective, which was to bring the wounded back to somewhere safe; an endeavour that would be far easier with another helping hand.

"H.. hey.. did you do all this?!" questioned the lead resistance member "Hey... we could really use your help...someone as strong as...." he continued though Fitz didn't give much of a response, not until the keyword was mentioned and his opportunistic predator instinct took over. 'Strong?... Me?... Obviously....' he thought to himself, his ears twitching as he shot up onto two feet, almost knocking the resistance fighter over.

".. as strong as me?..." interrupted Fitz, his body absorbed by false bravado and his voice deeper to showcase his obvious masculinity and overwhelming strength. " hahaha, Why of course you could use my help... why wouldn't you want it?... I did after all singlehandedly dispose of these Nova scum... hahaha..." came the arrogant lies of Fitz. "Listen Bud... next time you see me with my hands in my head... don't interrupt me. I was saying a prayer for those I just killed... war comes at a price... ya know what I mean..." continued Fitz, his trusted partner Vinci in the background with two palms clawing at at his own face; dismayed at how its trainer was so naturally despicable.

Already the resistance fighter was having a hint of regret for approaching Fitz, the man having a dislike for those that actually seemed to relish being involved in this war. However their needs outweighed his immediate dislike for Fitz and while it pained him to bite his tongue and keep quiet, the man picked himself up and dusted himself off.

"The names Chevron, this is Mort and Mia and in between them is Ludwig..." at the mention of Ludwig's name, Chevrons tone began to change. "Look.. we could really use your help bringing Ludwig back to the plane... he took a big blow to the chest and hasn't woken since. Mort and Mia are wounded as well and if we get ambushed... I know the mission is important... but I doubt we could hold our own in another fight... and... if.. if something worse were to happen... I.. I'd never..." Chevron paused, holding back to urge to just break down. "... I beg you.. do you think you could help us get back to the plane?..." pleaded Chevron, the man knowing in his heart that it was highly unlikely for this battle seeker to want to run away from a fight.

Unbeknownst to him, fire works were going off in Fitz's head as a way out of this hell was handed to him on a silver plate. Presenting itself right in front of him, Fitz had just been given a way to leave the field of battle without looking like the coward he actually was. In Fitz's mind, he had just won the jackpot. "No need to beg Chevron, its my duty as one of the strong to help those in need... It would be shameful for me to do otherwise. I'll help guard you while we return to the plane. You have nothing to worry about, not when I am here"

"Great!"
chimed Mort and Mia, as Chevron breathed a sigh of relief.

Things were finally going Fitz's way.

~ Department Centre ~
7755ea61ca11236c1fd720144ecb8118.jpg
Perched upon the roof of the department building, the man known as Mikhail continued to observe the nearby surroundings; Artemis focusing upon the streets below whilst Aegis phased through the floors underneath; the ghost like guardian finding his efforts to be in vain as the search found no resistance fighters within the shopping mall. His attempt to be of use however would not go to waste as the general 'all clear' had given Mikhail the reassurance he needed to begin going on the offence.

It was during the time of Aegis's search that Mikhail had placed his eye upon the scope of his crossbow once more, the sniper scanning the various rooftops for opposing forces whilst occasionally returning to the ongoing battle below; the smoke billowing in every direction and making it still hard to grasp the full situation from above. Yet despite the smokescreen making it hard to see, It was evident that Jay was outnumbered as the roars of other pokemon could be heard from within the smoke.

As Artemis fired a feather towards a quartet of fighters on the streets below; causing one to be rendered unconscious, Mikhail had taken the opportunity to turn and face the returning Aegislash. During the time in which Aegis had been gone, Mikhail had taken note of an opposing sniper group setting up shop upon the nearby building across the street. Two to be precise, one potentially acting as a spotter whilst the other was the shooter; their lack of a Nova Uniform suggesting that they were not playing for the same team as Mikhail and were thus open to being attacked.

With a deviant grin appearing upon his face, the former game warden had began to instruct Aegis upon his next set of instructions. The disarmament and potential capture of Resistance fighters. "Aegis, Capture them" commanded Mikhail, his finger pointing towards the duo who were still preparing the sniper rifle. "Use false swipe to weaken them and block to prevent their escape. They are more valuable alive than they are as red paint on the side of a building. Go!." Aegis blinked in confirmation of the command before he disappeared; the ghost pokemon flying across to the other building while hidden from view. "Artemis, return your attention to the fight below. Those resistance fighters below will be in less of a hurry to intervene, now that they have seen what the consequences are of attempting to do so" instructed Mikhail, returning to his combat position; crossbow pointed downwards and with his scope presently following Sapphire's movements. "With the fight progressing as it is, an opening should present itself. When it does, use Spirit shackle. Sapphire Birch is not someone we can let escape; even if escape is unlikely with Admin Jay involved. If the capture of Sapphire isn't there, then we will get the next best thing. I'm sure HQ will have many questions for that other intruder" Artemis ruffled her feathers and leaped up towards a one of the stationary window cleaning platforms; the machinery presently docked upon the roof. Its position gave the Decideueye a much more preferable vantage point overlooking the fight below.

"Logan, dispatch a group up towards those office buildings across from my position. Aegis will have a couple of fighters ripe for questioning" spoke Mikhail via the receiver, the marksman not even allowing Logan to respond to the news as he continued to dominate the transmission. "The reinforcements you sent to contain the area have arrived and are now holding off the resistance fighters on the street below. Inform the commander that I am now engaging in the capture of Sapphire Birch and the mystery man. Thanks to the Noivern, I can finally see exactly what is happening" finished Mikhail before cutting off the transmission and slightly turning to face Artemis's direction.

"Patience, enjoy the thrill of the hunt up until its crescendo and when the prey slips and falls, that is when we strike" mumbled Mikhail, his trigger finger lightly caressing the trigger of his crossbow. Mikhail was not the type to risk exposing his position to those below, not when the chance for an ambush was still there for him to take, even if it meant that he had done nothing to stop the man and his Bisharp from executing their pincer attack on Jay, the result being another wound upon the Admins body. Jay was a big boy... he could handle a little pain.

Ignoring the injury to Jay, Mikhail continued to observe the fight below; not even turning to face Aegis as it dispatched the opposing Snipers with ease. The Ghost/steel pokemon had materialized out of thin air in front of the duo and in an instant swung sword arm down; the false slash leaving them conscious but incapacitated as their bodies fell limp. Meanwhile down below, the fight seemed to be something out of a superhero movie as the Team of Jay's pokemon continued to outpower and out manoeuvre the greater number of foes. The fluidity in command and movement showed a level of teamwork that simply didn't grow overnight and whilst the same could be said for Sapphire and her pokemon as well as the man and his bisharp; Mikhail could not help but shake his head in disappointment as the opposing fighters lacked precise teamwork between themselves. It was almost like they had never fought alongside one another before; though that was merely Mikhail making an assumption.

Through the scope of his lens, Mikhail glancing in the direction of Sapphire had made 'eye contact' with her. A quick click of Mikhail's tongue was all the annoyance he had shown from being exposed; yet even that did not cause him to fire a shot off in panic. His position exposed and with the opposition forces appearing to retreat; Mikhail raised his head from the scope and turned towards Artemis, knowing full well what needed to be done.

"Artemis, cut off their escape!. Use a Spirit shackle on the venusaur, if we stop their movements then even a blind man will land their shot" commanded Mikhail as he adjusted the zoom on his scope and counted the passengers riding upon venusaur. Whilst Sapphire and the old man were priority, he'd be damned if every single one of them escaped unscathed. All he needed was a moment for them to remain stationary and his shot would almost certainly find its mark in one of them. Though that was gonna be tricky with them quickly leaving his range of fire.

"Artemis now!"

Upon Mikhail's command, a large semi transparent purple arrow was let loose from Decideueye's grip, the projectile silent through the air as it flew straight and precise towards the faster than average venusaur. Though whether it hit the pokemon or not was not the issue, all Artemis needed was its shadow.. a silhouette that -thanks to Jay's fire and crobats wind causing the fire to grow in size on either side of the opening- was made momentarily longer than usual. Given the upward angle of the shot, the fire and relentless assault of Jay's pokemon acting as a distraction and the fact that it was an ambush, Mikhail was certain that the spirit shackle would hit its mark. All he needed now was for the retreating behemoth to cease its movement and *bang*, his crossbow would do the rest.

With a quick lick to the lips and a gentle caress of his crossbow, Mikhail readied himself to take the shot, the moment their movements were halted.

Viktor "The Emperor"

5688-1841060616.jpg

Goldenrod, Johto

Running was not something Viktor took any pleasure in doing, nor was it an action the older male was used to doing. Unfortunately, the Team Nova Admin's prowess as a Trainer left Viktor any favorable alternative. Besides, The bearded man thought as his steps brought him away from the fighters behind him and closer towards the wall of crackling fire. When I next encounter this man I shall pay him back for this. It would be rude not to do so after Jay went out of his way to show me just how unprepared I was. A burning sensation halted Viktor's advance and caused the man to instinctively pull away. Though, perhaps I should consider this wall first before I assume that I have managed to retreat. The sound of a muffled, gurgling croak drew the bearded man's attention back to the individuals behind him once more, forcing the older male to acknowledge that he had to take more than himself through the hazardous barrier before him. Viktor then sheathed his Dagger, knowing that if he wished to leave the area with the two Pokemon he brought with him, he would require both of his hands to be free.

"Count yourselves lucky." Viktor muttered to himself as he pulled out the Pokeball for Pandora and hit the Toxicroak with the returning beam from the storage device. Then, the older man rose his voice for his Bisharp to hear him, only for the loud, near ear shattering sound of Jay's shot to drown out his voice. Irritation flashed across his face as his left hand pulled out his Remington once more. Viktor fired off a few more shots at Jay's Gardevoir, mentally counting down his already low amount of remaining ammunition. "Cain!" The bearded man tried calling out to his Pokemon again. "To me!" After giving his order to Cain, Viktor then noticed the steaming mat that had been summoned to protect him from Admin Jay's electric volley. I will need to thank the girl should we manage to leave Goldenrod. The older man let out a few more shots; this time aimed towards Jay with the hope that the Gardevoir would be too preoccupied saving its Trainer from the weapon fire to prevent Viktor's depature.

The Bisharp swiftly closed the distance between it and Viktor, allowing the man to feel a small modicum of relief with his oldest companion back at his side. Though, the bearded man was not foolish enough to relax his guard even with Cain by his side. Team Nova were too much of a threat to be treated lightly, a feeling that was unfortunately not reciprocated, not yet. I will have to push through this fire wall if I wish to leave Johto. It may be painful, but not life threatening. I do have some doctors willing to treat me should I require. Viktor took a deep breath to prepare himself for the agonizing, searing sensation of his flesh being cooked, however, before the older male could step into the burning barrier, he heard the sound of thundering footsteps and felt the trembling of the ground as something large moved. The Birch girl! Wine red eyes widened in surprise as Sapphire(?) rushed towards him, riding a Venasaur. Viktor did not bother questioning what the girl had in mind, instead he swiftly grabbed onto the large Grass Pokemon as it passed by. Cain hopped on top of the Venasaur a moment later to help haul its master fully up. "Thank you." The bearded male gave Cain a brief nod, showing that his verbal gratitude was not meant solely for the girl who was assisting Viktor in his attempt to retreat.

"Cain, be on your guard." Viktor mentally double checked his ammunition count, noting that he now had only three shots left. "We are not out of danger yet." His scarred right hand rested near his final smoke grenade on his belt, ready to toss out the device should it prove necessary. "Miss Birch," The bearded man called over his shoulder to the girl behind him as he watched their rear for pursuers they would without a doubt be forced to deal with during their escape from Goldenrod. "I have a jet outside the city on standby. It should be capable of taking off the moment we arrive, if you wish." Viktor normally did not enjoy sharing his private jet with strangers, yet given the circumstances, it was a rather logical offer.

Inside Nova HQ, Goldenrod City, Johto

Sapphire was running point now through the halls. Kirly hadn't wanted to let the Nova scientist run behind it with Sapphire where he couldn't see her, so he was running in the back now, with the hostage in the middle occasionally yelling directions. Sapphire was beginning to think the woman was leading her in circles, that it might be time to knock her out and find a new guide, when the woman suddenly told her to stop. The woman was breathing hard against the wall. She obviously wasn't used to running. She raised a finger and pointed at the next door. To Sapphire it looked the same as all the others. "If you're looking for who I think you are, they're in there," the Nova scientist said between breaths.

Sapphire examined the door. It was more solid than it looked, but not solid enough. "Rono, rip it out," she let out her Aggron. The Nova scientist woman fell back in fright as a large metal lizard punched right through the door and tore it out of the wall.

"Ruby!" Sapphire almost ran into the room as soon as she saw Ruby inside. Kirly held her back so that it could enter first in case there were traps, but there appeared to be none inside the room. "Ruby!" Sapphire ran to the man inside, but he didn't respond. He was lying on a bed, either unconscious or deep asleep, his hands locked in some kind of heavy metal block in front of him. "Oh Ruby." Sapphire brushed Ruby's black hair aside, revealing the old scar on his head he'd gotten when they were kids. Aside from some minor bruising he seemed to be in relatively good condition. "Kirly, heal him with Life Dew." The Gallade cupped its hands and filled them with sparkling clear water, which it poured into the sleeping Ruby's mouth. Some of his bruises faded, but he still didn't wake up.

Sapphire recalled Rono and had Kirly put Ruby onto her back. His shallow breathing tickled the back of her neck. "Don't worry, I'll get you out of here," she promised. "Kirly, lead the way out. We're heading for the front door." It had taken her a while to find Ruby. Plat would be planning on getting out about now anyway, so they'd meet up later. Kirly looked around the hallway. It seemed that the Nova woman had fled. It would leave proof of their infiltration, but there was little that could be done about it now. "Let's go!" Kirly responded to Sapphire's should by running down the hall back the way they had come from.

Goldenrod City, Johto

"Damn," Jay swore to himself, the crackling electricity filling the air around him and the pokemon coiled around him erasing the sound. That woman's Greninja had stopped his charged shots. Were all of her pokemon specialized in defensive tactics? If so that would explain why she'd been chosen to play the perilous role of decoy to keep him occupied. He hadn't wanted to kill her, using her fake identity as a pretense to hold back and capture her alive, but he also couldn't afford to just let her go. If he wanted to capture her, he'd just have to risk killing her. "Invidia, Protect." Jay raised his revolver again and took aim as a storm of deadly sharp Razor Leaves slammed into the defensive shield his Eelektross put up.

Ace was hit by an electric attack as it flapped to put distance between itself and the woman's pokemon so that it could circle back around for another go at taking down the trainer. Its wings momentarily seized up, causing the bird pokemon to stumble through the air before it ignited its feathers and recovered. Ace looked towards his trainer, wrapped by Invidia and taking aim at the woman Ace had failed to take out, but his focus on the woman meant Jay failed to see the old man stepping out from behind the mat that had blocked him from the charged shot meant to kill him, his own gun drawn and aimed right at the Team Nova Admin. Invidia had already used Protect to block the Venusaur's attack, so he wouldn't be able to raise a defense in time even if Jay had seen the gun. Ace shot through the air like a faming arrow at maximum speed to put itself between its trainer and the old man's bullet.

Jay's finger pressed down on the trigger of his revolver as a barrage of gunshots rang out, but they weren't coming from him. He turned in the air only in time to see Ace falling out of the sky. "Invidia, drop!" The Eelektross ended Magnet Rise and let itself and its trainer fall out of the air. It controlled the landing so Jay could step easily onto the ground, at least it thought it had. Jay took one step and his legs gave out beneath him.

Solitaire had felt Ace's panic and pain the moment he'd been struck and the freezing cold emotion that filled Jay as his mind jumped to the worst case, but neither terrified her nearly as much as simply seeing Jay fall. She immediately pulled a Mental Herb from inside the jacket she wore and shoved the white-blue leaf into her mouth. Its bitter taste snapped her out of that annoying frog's Taunt, and she wasted no time in Teleporting to Jay's side. That cut to his back was a lot deeper than she'd expected. He'd just ignored this? The amount of blood staining his while jacket was scary, but the discolored fluid around the wound was even more concerning.

"Heal Ace first," Jay commanded her while forcing himself off the ground. Solitaire ignored him and used Heal Pulse to close the stab wound in her trainer's back. She wanted to heal him more, but she could already feel his anger at her ignoring his direct order. So she went to where Ace had fallen and used Healing Pulse on him as well. The bird had been knocked out of the air, but its injuries weren't too severe. It had blocked the first shot that had hit directly with Quick Guard, and the other two had been grazing shots, taking out enough feathers to make flying impossible but not doing much actual damage. By the time she'd healed Ace, Jay was back standing on his feet. He might look fine again to anyone watching, but she could feel his emotions and pain and saw how he was relying on Invidia to hold him upright. He was taking aim again at the fleeing backs of the Resistance woman and the old man. He fired two shots: a StarBurst bullet to punch a hole in whatever defense that woman managed to put up, followed by a charged shot to destroy whatever it found beyond.

The first bullet flew true, but the charged shot curved to the side almost as soon as it left the gun. There was a terrible grinding sound as the bullet was pulled into the rotating drill atop a massive Rhyperior that was dragging itself out of the ground. Jay glared at the monster, but neither moved to attack right away. Jay would need Gula to handle this threat, but if the Rhyperior got an attack off before he could send Gula out and give it an order, either he, his pokemon, or the city behind him would be wiped out. Jay was willing to sacrifice the buildings behind him, and the people that might be sheltering inside, to avoid this thing's attack if he needed to, but he hoped the person responsible for this pokemon was more reasonable than that. That meant they were both waiting for the thing's trainer to arrive.

The Decideueye's arrow would have easily found its mark in in the Venusaur's long shadow, the riders on its back having no clue about the owl pokemon's attack that would end their plan to run away. But a pillar of fire raining down from above incinerated the feather arrow and swept across the sky towards where the attack had originated. Jay's Noivern took a faceful of flames as it tried to intercept the pokemon heading towards where its trainer was being healed. A Charizard flew right through the wall of flames, over the Nova Admin, and onward as it hunted down the sniper taking aim at the fleeing Resistance members. Blue and two more of his pokemon landed in the street a few dozen feet from Jay. Blue's Golduck used Telekinesis to stop them before they slammed into the ground. A Gourgeist floated down after the two, its cheerful smile completely at odds with the Golduck's serious glare and Blue's strained half-smile directed at the Nova Admin.

Mikhail was counting the seconds to see whether or not his ambush would work; the arrow of Artemis flying true towards its target with no obstacle in sight nor little indication of their prey even being aware that they had fallen into the trap and gotten themselves caught. However A quick lick to the lips to moisten the dryness had been premature as the vision through his scoped lens had been illuminated and enveloped by the fiery red flames of a Charizard; the dragon pokemon easy to identify as the orange glow of its tail light gave away its position in the sky. With fortune enough to win the lottery, Mikhails prey stolen away from him.

"Tch" clicked Mikhail in frustration.

Lowering his crossbow and glancing down towards Admin Jay, the nova grunt had shown very little sympathy for the wounded admin; rather his ability to show any sympathy had been robbed \ and replaced with concern and dread. Skimming the rest of the rooftop to see a Rhyperior standing between Jay and the resistance fighters; soon followed by Blue and his two pokemon dropping from above had caused Mikhail's emotions to do a complete 360 as the tables were turned against them. "Logan. Request reinforcements, send everyone." directed Mikhail, before taking a deep breath to reaffirm what he saw and was about to say next. "Blue has arrived".

Sapphire Birch was one thing... but the leader of the resistance was on a whole other level and given Jay's current condition; he was the last person they needed right now. His arrival also spelt trouble for Mikhail as it could only mean that the Charizard was most likely his and thus a very convincing reason for him to move from where he was especially since it showed very little interest in the wounded Admin beneath it. Wasting no time and seeing the menacing dragon heading their way, Mikhail begun his retreat.

"Aegis! Autotomize!" shouted Mikhail as he slung his crossbow across his back and begun his retreat; the dark haired man taking another glance at the fast approaching Charizard before turning the other way and taking the step over the ledge. Almost instantly his long hair had begun to wave violently behind him as he fell from the rooftop; the sniper fully trusting that Aegis would make it in time to catch his fall now that he had the increased speed.

Thankfully after passing the halfway mark of his descent, Mikhail had landed upon the silver body of Aegis; the royal sword pokemon at an angle that would make it seem like it was laying on its back, as it begun to fly off with its trainer harmed but still alive. There was little chance that Mikhail and either of his pokemon would be able to take on the Charizard and come out unscathed; the flying lizard having the type advantage over both Aegis and Artemis; however this wasn't to say that he would simply flee with his tail between his legs.

As Aegis corrected its trajectory with the additional weight of Mikhail now upon him, the nova grunt had wasted no time in taking the next step even if the pain from landing roughly upon Aegis's body had caused his body to issue a silent protest. Raising his head skyward to where he previously was and his partner had remained, Mikhail with a half smile across his face had issued Artemis's next command.

"Artemis!, Use Phantom Force!" yelled Mikhail now that he had been caught by Aegis during his free fall. "Remember everything I've said, our target may have changed but what I said has not. Wait for the opportunity to strike!" yelled Mikhail as the duo of him and Aegis turned a corner. With a simple nod, the haunting silhouette of the silent hunter had soon dissipated into thin air; the half ghost pokemon hidden from view as it took to the skies; circling their intended prey whilst it waited for the opportune time to unleash this 2 part move.

Mikhail smiled, unslinging the crossbow and holding it in the opposite direction to which him and Aegis were flying, waiting to see if Charizard would follow suite. Even if his attack were to fail; there was no denying that he was still doing admin Jay a favour by drawing away the Charizard.

Curious to see Charizards next choice of action, Mikhail could not help but ponder if it would take the bait and continue to chase Mikhail and Aegis? Perhaps it would go on the defensive and remain on guard for the now invisible Artemis? Maybe it would return to Blue's side? After all, who was Artemis's target? Charizard? Blue? The fleeing resistance members?"

Lune Cross

Mentions: Viktor ( RageFactorXIII RageFactorXIII ), Melanie ( AxElKiNgHeArT13 AxElKiNgHeArT13 )

Locations: Hoenn to Alola
The price of peace is completely and utterly exhausting, but in the end this should all pay off. Thankfully, the people of Fortree City were very willing to do business and hadn’t kept Lune for too long. A proper transaction was actually able to commence and there was no inappropriate gestures in Lune’s direction this time.

Lune let out a deep sigh as she avoided any and all suspicious individuals on her way back to the boat she had boarded on her journey to Hoenn. Hopefully it wouldn’t take long to get back to Slateport City and onto a boat out of this region. Normally, Lune would have enjoyed the scenery however, she was a very busy individual. A busy individual with a bit of a tight schedule.

Lune sat in the backseat of a rental car that one of her escorts managed to obtain for the trip and began to write her report. A normal runner would have taken the full amount of time to complete a task like this, however Lune was determined to finish the tasks assigned to her by her boss as swiftly as possible as she would hate to disappoint him. Lune would rather be judged by Arceus himself than ever dream of disappointing Viktor.

Lune shook her head and got to work on her report. She was very thorough about the deal, how successful it was, who was involved, who she encountered on the way there, what vehicle was rented, how much it was to pay for the vehicle as well as what make the car was, who they talked to about renting the car, how long it took to get from Fortree to Slateport, and if there was any activity from Nova or from the Resistance.

In the time that it took Lune to finish her report, they had just pulled into Mauville City to refuel on gas and pick up food for humans as well as the Pokemon. And maybe coffee. Scratch that, all the coffee she could buy.

Lune gently tapped the Pokeball where Jet resided in on her belt. She allowed a gentle smile to grace her lips as she grabbed the ball off of her belt and threw it to release her Pokemon. A bright white light came from the Pokeball as her Vaporeon, whom she affectionately named Jet, emerged and frantically searched for the danger, a growl rumbled from his chest as he glared at his surroundings. When there was no immediate danger, Jet trotted over to Lune and pressed his face against her leg. Lune smiled down at one of her favorite boys and gently patted the top of his head. She made sure to be careful around certain parts of his face, and listened quietly to his purrs.

The crunching of another’s boots caught both Pokemon and Trainer’s attention as Jet growled and stood protectively in front of his trainer. When Lune looked up from her Pokemon, she saw one of her escorts standing there nervously as they glanced down at her Pokemon who was ready to attack as soon as she said the word. “We are ready to depart, I presume?” Lune asked the underling who nodded frantically and quickly got back into the car.

Lune glanced back down at Jet who watched the underling disappear from his line of sight before she crouched down to pet him. “Good boy Jet. You scared the bad man away.” Lune cooed at him as he preened and soaked up all of the attention she was giving him. Lune removed her hand from his head and stood back up before heading back to the car, where one of the other underlings was waiting with the door open. “Come Jet, we’ve other matters to tend to.”

Shortly after Lune got into the car and buckled up in her seat, Jet hopped up onto the seat and crawled into her lap. He stared down at the others before settling down in Lune’s lap, allowing her to run her hand from the head of his body to his lower back. The others got into the car and they took off in a haste to get to Slateport City.

Lune sipped on her iced coffee that one of her escorts had been kind enough to fetch for her and nibbled on one of the Magnimite Croquettes that had been handed to her. They actually didn’t taste too bad, and she had finished all but one in a manner of minutes before offering her final one to Jet. He seemed confused about the croquette for a couple of moments before hesitantly taking the croquette from her fingers, being gentle about grabbing it from her fingers.

Lune absentmindedly pet her Pokemon as she gazed at the fast images of the world outside. Had she been paying attention, she would have noticed all of the local Pokemon in the area. However as the hum of the car gently purred in her ears along with the purrs of her own Pokemon as well as Jet’s body heat, Lune was instead lulled into a much needed rest.

The escorts in the car all wondered if it would be fine to let her rest in the car, but decided against waking her up while there was a protective Pokemon in her lap. They wisely decided to allow her to rest for the entire ride to Slateport City and didn’t speak to each other for fear of waking her up. Or worse, angering her Pokemon.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

When the car finally arrived at Slateport City, the engine of the car was shut off and roused Lune from her sleep. She slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head from where it rested on the glass of the window. She rubbed her eyes gently with the back of her hands, stretching as much as she could and unbuckling from her seat in the car. It wasn’t long before her door opened and there was a hand to assist her out of the car. Lune allowed herself to be helped out of the car and gathered Jet up in her other arm.

Lune took glances at her environment as Jet took it upon himself to watch her back. So far there didn’t seem to be people from Nova nor the Resistance, but one could never be too careful. Thankfully, she didn’t have to worry about it for too long as she was escorted to the docks where a boat was ready to take her to where she needed to go. “Where are we headed?” Lune asked as she stared up at the modest ship.

“I’ve been told that this boat will be heading back to Castelia City in Unova, if that is where you still want to go.” her escort informed as they waited for her word. Lune hummed as she thought about it for a moment. She could always go back to Castelia City and drown herself in more paperwork that was more than likely piling up on her desk….Or she could follow Melanie to the Alola region and nag her about completing the paperwork she needs to. This could also be the perfect opportunity to find a toxic type of Pokemon for her boss. “Please instead set a course for the Alolan region. If I am correct, there should be something worth my time there.”

Her escort nodded and waited for her to get onto the boat, ensuring that there was no danger as they boarded. The captain of the boat was quickly informed of a change in course and set sail on the Pokemon infested waters. ‘Arceus, if I don’t find what I’m looking for in Alola, then I will be sure to find something of use on the journey there. Though now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps I should help Melanie build the branch in Alola. I've nothing else to do with my time, and Viktor won't be in Castelia for some time.’ Lune thought as she gazed down at the rippling blue waves below her rock back and forth against the sides of the boat. Lune reached into her pocket, her skin brushing past the chains on her waist as she pulled her Pokegear from her pocket and sent a message to Melanie. ‘I have just now set sail for Alola. If there aren’t any delays, I should be there in a few hours. I will message you the moment we dock.’

Sapphire Birch (Kugasa Karasuna)
Goldenrod, Johto

Kugasa glanced behind her as a pillar of fire rained down from above to cut between them and what would’ve been an attack(?). Hard to see what it could have been within a column of red flames, though she recognized the roar of Blue’s charizard despite the ringing in her ears—could see it circling the department store roof where Kuga had spotted the sniper, in fact. At the same time, Crobat swooped down, a barrier of red surrounding itself and all its allies as it used [Quick Guard] to deflect the SB bullet that came their way. It wasn’t like Kuga hadn’t expected it. One didn’t ride through the streets of Nova territory on a Venusaur, while disguised as a high profile member of the resistance and not expect beams of orange lights to come flying their way. Attacks from starbursted pokemon as well. It reminded her of the carnage they’d escaped when Nova took over the Kanto region. Back then, Janine had been by her side.

This time she had an older stranger with many weapons…and a younger member of the resistance.

While Venusaur placed the blue haired boy on its back, between Greninja and Toxtricity who guarded Venasaur’s left and right respectively, Kugasa drew four kunais, wrapping ninja wire and bombs to them in several quick, experienced motions. She almost missed when the older stranger addressed her, unfamiliar with being referred to as ‘Miss Birch’. Unfamiliar with working in large groups—that weren’t her team—in general. Assassins tended to work on their own, after all. “The resistance has its own plane…but I will take you to yours if you show me the way. It’s the least I could do for getting you involved in all this.”

Since she came with the resistance, it only made sense that she leave with the resistance. Blue hadn’t even technically given the retreat signal yet, but given the nature of their mission, it was up to every individual fighter and their own sense of time when they were done fighting. She caressed the spider pokemon on her arm. “Spinarak and Crobat will focus on defense. After using [Haze] on Spinark and I, cut down any Nova affiliate that so much raises a weapon against us, Greninja. Same with you, Toxtricity. You have my permission to electrocute anything that attacks us.”

Both frog-like pokemon nodded their heads.

After breathing in the thick black smoke Greninja produced, Kugasa could feel her head clear. At the very least, the ringing she’d been hearing for a while now finally stopped. Not long after, Greninja vanished to do as told while Toxtricity raised both fingers, mimicking dual pistols, as it fired bolts of [Shock Wave]s in rapid succession at the foes sent after them. Kugasa did not like sending her pokemon out to kill, preferring to dirty her own hands with assassination rather than the hands of the pokemon she’d raised, but on the battlefield there was no distinction. Pokemon? Human? There were only allies and enemies.

To survive, she and her team would have to work together as one unit.

Kugasa threw her own kunais. Two stuck true, straight into the necks of two Nova grunts that raised their gauntlets. Another two dodged and fired, orange lights deflecting off alternating barriers of green and red. Not it mattered whether she hit them or not. A simple tug on the nearly invisible wires was all it took to set off a cloud of fast-acting knockout gas with enough potency to incapacitate a wailord if need be. Her own creation to deal with Starbursted pokemon. Nova grunts that failed to hold their breath in time fell one after another.

This wasn’t how Kugasa liked to operate at all. Frontline battles weren’t really her thing. She hated talking. Being exposed. Didn’t have very much time to set up the traps she’d like to during typical warfare either. The only advantage of being ‘Sapphire Birch’ was the number of resistance members that flocked to assist her escape because of who they thought she was.

“You’re the new member Lucas was training, right?” Kuga addressed the blue haired boy. “If you’re in contact with Headquarters, have them ready teleporters as soon as we leave Goldenrod. Venusaur will do everything he can to take us out of the city, but if he gets struck by an orange light, be prepared to jump off.”

She witnessed Master Koga get eaten alive by his own ariados and it colored her views on pokemon somewhat, though it didn’t stop her from bringing willing pokemon to battle with her. Kuga didn’t blame starburst pokemon for their actions. She couldn’t call herself a pokemon trainer if she were afraid of pokemon either. Kuga trusted her team. However, whether an ally died or got mind-wiped, she had long since hardened herself to doing what she must.

Gengar still hadn’t returned to her—and she had no idea where Alan’s drone was—but she couldn’t afford to wait for them.

“Keep an eye on the skies as well—just in case. Nova Admin’s Jay’s Noivern has the ability to slip past barriers.” Much like Crobat. “And the talonflame is fast.”

Fast enough to distract her from taking out Rayne's gun at least.

She’d heard from Master Koga that Blue of the Pokemon League was a strong pokemon trainer, but he was still only one man. She didn’t know how long he could keep Admin Jay’s attention. Honestly, given all the reports about how he tended to traverse the battlefield, she half expected that he would’ve teleported to block her path again. Perhaps the poison got to him? Kuga pegged the Nova Admin as cautious at first, but after watching him further, Jay seemed like the sort to port right into a spider’s web if it meant achieving his goals. For now she had to trust the resistance leader knew what he was doing. As tempted as she was to circle around and assist Blue, if the resistance leader was going to draw Nova attention, then she’d make sure as many of the resistance escaped the foolhardy mission alive as possible…then circle around if need be.

Imagine losing the leader of the resistance over a small decoy mission.

Even now, she could hear Master Koga mocking her un-ninja like actions in her head…but Master Koga was dead. Only Janine was alive. And Janine joined Blue’s resistance.

“Hold on just a little longer Venusaur. We’ll move to escape plan #2 on my signal.” Venusaur roared, wrapping its vines around a civilian car, lifting it with ease, and using the vehicle as a shield while [Seed bomb]s fired from the top of the plant like a turret to blast any barricade that blocked their way. Fortunately the numbers attacking them seemed to be thinning. Conversely, Kuga expected the numbers surrounding Blue to start growing. Blue Oak was a much more tasty bait than Sapphire Birch. Even Kuga could do simple math.

"...what are your names by the way?" Kuga asked the two humans with her in afterthought. It'd be impractical to refer to them as 'you' while they worked together to escape the city.

Nova Headquarters (Security Room), Goldenrod

“Ah, Marcus! You’re back! What took you so long? And what’s with that gadget on your shoulder?”

“This? It’s just a new gizmo from the R&D department.” Marcus shrugged dismissively after handing his senior Nova security officer a bag of donuts. “Don’t worry about it. More importantly, how are things looking outside, Greg?”

This time it was Greg’s turn to shrug. “Front cameras can barely pick up anything what with all the fog, but probably just a bunch of Resistance members turning into popsicles. It’s Admin Jay’s pokemon, after all. Can’t see any of ‘em making their way past the front door.”

“Pokemon are amazing, aren’t they?”

“Bah!” Greg tossed a donut into his mouth. “Useful if you can control ‘em, but I wouldn’t let my daughter anywhere near those dangerous critters if I can help it.”

Marcus nodded solemnly. “Boss wants you outside to help with the injured by the way.”

Greg swore. “Nancy wants me to do everything, doesn’t she? Keep an eye on the monitors, Marcus and alert us if you see anything suspicious.”

“Yessir,” Marcus saluted.

It wasn’t until the door to the security room closed, and Marcus the only Nova grunt inside, that the orb on his shoulder spoke up. “Wow~ That was seriously realistic.”

“When I possessed the human Marcus Clyde, I gained access to his memories as well.”

“Ahh, I ‘m glad I ran into you then, Gengar. Let’s hurry and review these footages.”
Hovering over the keyboard, a usb-like cable slid out from the hacker drone and plugged itself into the closest port as Alan checked Nova Hq’s cameras. “If Platinum and Sapphire are anywhere within this building they should be…bingo! Found them. Huh? Is that Dr. Elm as well? Well, whatever. Let's just fudge with the images a little…”

“Miss Kuga said not to do anything dangerous.”

“Small edits like these are hardly dangerous. Besides, I’m doing it directly from their device. With any luck, it’ll hardly even be noticed…done.”
The hacker drone unplugged itself from the security room computers. “Now let’s get going. Green seems to have found Platinum, but I’m worried about Sapphire and Dr. Elm. Dr. Elm especially since she’s on her own.”

“Now that I've completed the task I was assigned, I’d like to return to Miss Kuga’s side.”

“Haha, I can hardly blame you with all the ruckus she’s causing, but we’ve got to trust she knows what she’s doing. Ninjas operate in the shadows, don’t they? Think outside the box a little. You’d be a bigger help to her if you don’t get captured and remain hidden for now. Besides, I’m tracking her movements. If worse comes to worst, help will be sent her way.”

Nodding, Marcus Clyde straightened his Starburst gauntlet and slid the Nova communication device into his ear as he left the security room. “Do you think Sapphire actually managed to save Ruby? That Dominique Nox human seems...a little odd...to me.”

“I think people tend to see what they want to see, but, regardless of the outcome, our mission is to secure the safety of the ladies--all three of them~”

Alexander Reed

Flying through the streets of Goldenrod suspended from a vine was not how Alexander had seen his day going, but here he was. Of course, this was a major upgrade over where he had been before anyway. He still had guns pointed at him, but at least these weren’t right in his face.

His own gun had been lost when Asha caught him, so the blunette had to resort to using his knives. It was difficult to properly take aim while being swung around such as he was, but he managed to take down a Nova Grunt that had been taking aim with an assault rifle.

He only had so many knives, however, and not nearly as many of them as Nova had bullets. So when he swung near enough to make contact with a Nova Grunt the young man grabbed the enemy's sub-machine gun and disarmed him with a swift kick to the chest.

This also sent Alex swinging back in the opposite direction and allowed him to finally touch down on the pokémon that had saved him. The Venusaur he now stood on the back of apparently belonged to the ninja girl, a fellow member of the Resistance he recognized from the plane. Beside her, they were also joined by an older man he did not recognize.

He was momentarily caught off guard hearing Lucas' name come from the girl's mouth, but when he thought about it he understood just how she could have met the man. “I have a line to Lucas, but getting away from the city isn’t going to make him any more capable of getting us out of here”

Lucas had been permitted to visit Resistance headquarters a few times on the condition that he provide military firearm training to some of the rookies. The Assassin must have run into him during one of those visits and assumed he was with them. This was exactly what he told her, feeling somewhat guilty about not being more help.

Alexander paused to take a shot at a following Nova Grunt, knocking her off the back of her Rapidash before speaking up once more. “The name's Alexander, and I think the big guy’s jet is the best bet we’ve got at getting out of here right now"
