Name: Kekoa Morimoto
Picture:
1666199036403.png

Age: 22
Height: 5'10''
Weight: 174lbs
Voice Example: Wip? (i don't have one yet, but i'm looking sdmflksdj)

Starter Pokemon: Rowlet (Coconut)

Personality: Extroverted by nature, Kekoa is about as laid back and friendly as it gets. He actively seeks out company, be if from a friend or stranger, and goes out of his way to provide companionship to those that seem lonely, or in need of someone to talk to. His relaxed personality makes him easy to talk to, and easy to get along with, rarely taking offense to things and viewing the world in a optimistic, light-hearted manner. He lives in the present, taking things as they come, and trying not to stress too much about the past or future, however bleak things seem. Hedonistic, he generally tends to seek enrichment and enjoyment, and struggles to cope with boredom or a lack of stimulation, growing irritable and restless if there's nothing to do.
His need for excitement has made him a thrill-seeker, partaking in a number of extreme sports ranging from snowboarding and free-climbing to surfing.

He struggles with attention and focus, jumping from one idea to another, easily distracted by things. In addition to his poor attention span, he's also impulsive, rarely thinking before he speaks or does things, which has (multiple times) caused him injury, or gotten him into trouble... Particularly with wild pokemon he's attempted to "befriend", despite the dangers and impossibility of doing so (he's been mauled at least ten times). He also has a habit of playfully flirting and messing with others for fun, which much like his impulsive behaviour, has gotten him into sticky situations before.

Quirks: -Adrenaline junkie, can and will throw himself headfirst into any situation that seems remotely dangerous.
-Bounces his leg when agitated or bored, will also fidget with his bracelets, or earrings.
-May play the "air-ukulele", as a means to entertain himself when there's not much else to do.
-Always wears bracelets and an anklet. He doesn't take them off, ever.
-May zone out, or get distracted in the middle of a conversation.
-Rises with the sun.
-Refers to people as "bro" or "man" or "dude", regardless of their gender.
-He's somewhat creeped out by bug pokemon. Why? He doesn't know. They just make his skin crawl.

Biography: Kekoa's father, Souma Morimoto, was Sinnoh born and raised, working as a research assistant to Professor Rowan during his earlier years, before eventually moving to Snowpoint City to study ice types. His mother, Kalia, Alolan born and raised, was the daughter of two proficient chefs in Malie City. Inheriting her parents skills in cooking, Kalia went on to become a chef like her parents, devoted to her work and seeking to open a restaurant of her own. The opportunity to open a restaurant based in Sinnoh was one she took instantly, leaving the island life behind in favor of advancing her career. It was through her work she met Souma, a customer wishing to pay compliments to the chef, and the two hit it off near-instantly, with Souma soon becoming a regular.

After a few months, Kalia worked up the courage to ask Souma on an official date, to which he accepted. From there, their relationship continued to blossom. After two years, they were married. A year later, by complete accident, Kalia became pregnant with a daughter.

Kekoa was born Nohealani Morimoto, in Snowpoint City, where his father was a Pokémon researcher and his mother ran a restaurant. With both parents devoted to their work, and unprepared for parenthood, Kekoa was somewhat neglected, often spending time playing with the neighbors and their kids, hoping to combat the loneliness that came with having such career-oriented parents. He grew particularly attached to a family of winter sport enthusiasts and would regularly join them on their trips snowboarding, or skiing. Kekoa's love of extreme sport blossomed thanks to them, and as he grew older, seeking more thrill and challenge, he was introduced to more activities. Climbing, hiking, skating... Sport became a part of Kekoa's life, and because of that, his attention and interest in schoolwork and academia dwindled. School became a struggle, and his parents never noticed. They weren't around to answer questions about homework, or to help with study. Souma was often absent, travelling across the region for his research and Kalia was too fixated on running her restaurant to notice her child's struggles.

Kalia didn't notice Kekoa's struggles with gender, either. It was around 15 that Nohealani became Kekoa and the Morimoto family had a son, instead of a daughter. They were accepting, supporting even, but even their child's transition wasn't enough to pull their focus away from work and focus on their son instead. Kekoa was still lonely, still very much alone and still falling behind on schoolwork. He ended up dropping out of school prematurely, unable to keep up with the demands of school life.

Life was a struggle for the next two years, and Kekoa spiralled into a depressive state. This depression was what finally lead to his parents noticing just how much he was struggling, and just how much they had failed at being good parents. As a result, the family decided that a fresh start was necessary. A change of environment, and a change of lifestyle, one where they could focus on family instead of work. Kalia suggested moving to Alola, as island life was far more relaxed, and perhaps open new opportunities for them and their son.

So, they moved to Malie City, Kalia's hometown. A fresh start.

With new people, a more attentive family, and a new location to explore, Kekoa steadily returned to his former happy personality. Sports in Alola were different, the people were far more social than those in Snowpoint, and there was less emphasis on education and success than there was previously. He could drift, he could be aimless, and it didn't matter. He medically transitioned after a year, finally comfortable enough to remove his shirt, and thus began spending more and more time by the beach and by the sea. His new interests included surfing, and playing the ukulele, and soon enough he developed an interest in Pokémon too.

Some of the surfers he knew partook in a sport known as Mantine Surfing. Surfing that involved using a Pokémon as a board, rather than a standard surfboard. Those surfers had caught and battled and raised their mantines themselves. They were Pokémon trainers. It didn't take long for Kekoa to decide that he wanted to be a Pokémon trainer too. So, he got himself a Trainer's License and applied for a chance to get his own Pokémon. He picked up a Rowlet from Professor Kukui in less than a week. A fresh start indeed.

"Some people wanna see the world, others just wanna get the fuck out of their house before the entire family implodes. I like to think I'm a decent mix."
_________________________________________
Name: Annelise 'Annie' Carmicheal
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 04"10 [147.32 cm]
Weight: 87lbs [39kg]
Voice Example: Micheala Laws
Starter: Torchic [ Edan]

Personality: Sharp tongued and dry humored, Annie typically presents herself as a deeply jaded young woman with a rather... Morbid outlook on life. So yeah, Annelise Willow Carmicheal is what you might call a misanthropic asshole, she's not overly fond of people, and much prefers the company of domesticated/trained Pokèmon, and only those she considers 'hers', so to speak, and would very much like to keep it that way, for all appearances.

Beyond this though, her general attitude is relatively amiable if only for the fact that she likes NOT getting punched in the face. She's distant from most people, and would rather keep it that way, however she does have a few people she holds high respect for, as few and far between as they might be. Even her grandmother isn't on this list, piece of shit she is aside, and she'd sooner die than admit anyone she might have known beforehand is on it... So good look getting on it.

She also shows a notable soft spot for small children, and has, on occasion, been physically forced to let go of a toddler. This stems from her own childhood, and a want to at least give every child a single bit of kindness as she was given by her... Exceedingly few 'friends'.

She also tends to have a very notable habit of nicknaming people, regardless of their position or power, and is outright stated to refer to people she absolute despises by their given or surnames, forgoing something as playful and gentle as a nickname.

Quirks: Annie absolutely insists on her nickname, thinking of 'Annelise' as to stuffy and formal for someone like her, and noticeably jerks into wide-eyed suprise or terror whenever she's referred to by her full first name, as, in her own words, 'Only my grams calls me Annelise, and it's never in a way that makes me feel any sort of nice.', when questioned.
- Her nicknames are usually cute, typically just shortened forms of first or last names, but occasionally they can be incredibly demeaning, or stupid. As noted, her twins cousins from Hoenn, Yvette and Anders, are only ever really referred to as 'Twin One' and 'Twin Two'.
- Is incredibly judgemental of 'uncreative' nicknames for Pokèmon, although, she tends to keep such thoughts to herself after a fee preliminary comments.
- Tends to 'Hop about like a Buneary' whenever she's particularly excited or happy about something or other, she finds this embarrassing, and tends to stop as quickly as it starts, especially when someone brings attention to it.
- Feels naked when she goes without some sort of 'over' layer, whether this means an oversized button up to serve as an impromptu jacket of sorts, or wearing a heavy duty jacket over another hoodie, should that be the only thing she's wearing at the time as a shirt.
- Tends to rub the back of her neck when nervous, or lying. Has also been known to 'twirl' after a particularly grueling conversation, which is more like trying to reground herself with sensation then anything.
- Annie doesn't take compliments well, and always, always, thinks someone is working an angle, even if there's no real gain to flattering her.
- She tends to avoid directly speaking to people she finds physically attractive, or, at least until she gets to know them better. As an aside, a way to kill all interest she might have in you as a romantic prospect is if you're nosy, and any direct questions about family will make her completely unresponsive to any and all following questions.
- She's very fond of avian Pokèmon, despite never really interacting with them before the start of her journey, and finds them rather cute, irrationally so, even. Has even commented that she'd nuzzle a Skarmory if guaranteed that they wouldn't harm her.
- Her family were hardcore practiconers of Arceusism, which has kind of ruined religion for her all together, but she does offer basic offerings and prayers when applicable to the necessary 'Legend' when needed.
- Is actually quite skilled at playing the Violin, but would much rather die then ever perform publicly again.

Appearance: Annelise Carmicheal is a notably slender young woman, if almost scrawny do to her somewhat rough upbringing, and is noted for her dark hair, typically worn loose, with a small pair of braids coming from her temples, and joining at the back of her head, piercing blue eyes, and pale skin, she is known to resemble her mother, Sera Carmicheal neè Yves, greatly despite the difference in coloring, and inherited her father's coloring almost completely beyond her pale complexion.

Typically, her wardrobe consists of very muted colors, and is typically known to wear form fitting undershirts with a longsleeved overshirt that reaches to her mid-thigh, a large overcoat with that's at least two sizes too big for her, long dark leggings, and shorts or skirts that reach just below her knee, she also leans towards dark boots and sneakers.

Likes: Sushi, Spicy Food, Drawing, Fishing, Harp Playing, Cheesecake, Anything Relating To Pork, Being Able To Provide For Herself.
Dislikes: Sweets, Tempura, Beans, Most Milk Products, Reminders About Her 'Impending' Need To Contact Her Family.

Biography:
Sera Yves was not always a good person, and, if she were allowed to be completely and utterly honest with others, she'd even go so far as to she was an absolutly selfish little monster as a teenager, only ever looking out for herself, and using the people around her as though they were disposable toys then as actual human beings with thoughts and feelings of their own, and was absolutely a bully who targeted other boys and girl who couldn't defend themselves in her youth.

Of course, this didn't take away from the fact that, as a sixteen year old attending Castelia Private, she was still a teenage girl who, at the end of the day, thought the absolute world of the older guy, who was eighteen, she had a crush on, as Rys Warren seemed to encapsulate everything she could ever possibly want in a romantic partner, as he was smart, driven, and a talented trainer that seemed to always have a plan in mind for his future.

Unfortunately, Rys was not all he was cracked up to be, as he himself was a deeply jealous and petty young man who had a very narrow world-view that he refused to budge from, and rather unfortunately, for Sera at the time, already fashioning himself in love with Amamiya Juuri, a foreign teaching assistant that helped oversee the art club they were both apart of.

Sera was aware of this crush, and the fact that, at fifteen, Rys had absolutely no-chance Miss Amamiya, especially as the woman was twenty-four, and already engaged to her high-school sweetheart, Kurama Kyou, this, however, did not deter her jealousy of the woman, and she endeavored to make the woman's life absolute hell as the overseer of the Art Club.

This eventually came to a head after Sera confessed to Rys, and ultimately insulting his childish crush on Juuri as she did so after he rejected her.

Later on, during the meet up of the Art Club, Juuri comes in and she and Rys become involved in arguing with her over a conversation they had earlier, while Sanae watches, with her older brother Nathen, trying to comfort her over the entire situation, as she had revealed to him that Rys had rejected her.

Unfortunately, Sera had, at the very least been able to recognize the fact that Rys's affection for Juuri was genuine in what it was, for what he knew love to be at that point in time as a teen, and it frustrated her.

So, annoyed and hurt, and so very vindictive, Sera rushed out of the club room with some excuse or other, and made a bee-line for Juuri's actual classroom, and, after making sure the coast was clear, began raiding the woman's desk.

...only, instead of simply coming across something or other to trash, she instead came upon Miss Amamiya's engagement ring, given to her by her fianceè, likely so she could paint that day without getting anything on it.

So, of course, when presented with the ultimate revenge, what better then to take the chance? Swiping the ring, and concocting a plan, she left the room with a skip in her step.

And that Friday, when the club met outside, Sera confronted Rys with the ring, mocking him, and Miss Amamiya, over the entire situation, drawing attention the fact as Rys had already confessed, and was ultimately rejected, and that Amamiya had noticed her engagement rings missing state, she accused the woman had likely thought that he was culprit, but was to 'weak' to accuse him of such things.

This resulted in a screaming match, that left Sera in tears at the end of it, and made her throw the ring into the nearby school pond before rushing off in a mess of sobs.

It was then, that Juuri rushed after her, and ultimately comforted her, and tried to soothe her worries over the entire situation, drawing attention to the fact she was still young, and that she still had her entire life ahead of her, and over a billion possible people she could possibly end up falling for.

Soothed slightly, and grateful, the guilt of the entire situation came crashing down onto Sera at that point, but she had been unable to admit to her act of jealousy, and had simply apologized for wasting Juuri's time, and rushed off.

That night, Sera came back to the school pond to search through the muck and water for Juuri's engagement ring, where she met a classmate from her Biology class, Keith Carmicheal, a member of the school's photography club, and a student that was close to Amamiya Juuri, with his camera, trying to get pictures for something or other.

What happened next is a bit of a blur, but what is remembered of that night is vivid, because she and Keith had gotten into a very bitter and heated arguement after she admitted to what she had done, but... had strangely helped her in her effort to find Juuri's ring.

...which they never did.

It had saddened Sera greatly, and given her a very big reality check as to what she was doing with her life, and where she was heading if she kept being such an ugly person.

It was then, the following day, that Sera dragged Keith out of their shared Biology class, and dragged him to Juuri to tell her the truth, and she took her punishment with as much grace as possible.

Though she was ultimately kicked out of Castelia Private, and had ultimately soured Juuri's opinion of her, she continued to strive towards becoming a better person, with the rather odd comlanion of Keith Carmicheal right beside her.

This journey ultimately distanced herself from her brother, Nathen, who wanted her to keep up the mask of an innocent little girl that she used to manipulate others as a young teen, this ultimately completely broke them apart when she refused to put the mask back on for his comfort.

Keith meanwhile remained a close companion, and sometimes bitter rival, over the years, and eventually became a very close friend in that time, and maybe even the closest person to Sera ever.

They were always challenging each other to do better, to be better, to move forward and be kind and adventurous people, and as tike moved forward, so did the nudging of the more intimate feelings they had for each other.

Their actual romance... really wasn't a romance, because by the time they had come to realize they probably needed to make things 'official' Keith was looking at engagement rings, and Sera was looking into houses they could potentially invest in buying together.

So, of course, the next course of action was to... Kiss? Maybe. Look better people or not, at the time, they were still absolute fucking idiots at the end of it all, and when they finally went on their first official date at nineteen, things kind of exploded.

And yet, this seemed to only deepen their relationship further, and further, until, eventually it all came to a head when they were twenty-two, at which point, in their shared house, Sera got down on one knee with a freezer-burn microwaveable onion ring and proposed.

Keith, naturally said yes, and they had that damn onion ring framed, because why the fuck not?

[No seriously, Annie is so very confused by that damn frame when she finds it the year she can legally sign off on owning their old house.]

This is probably the only time either agree that they were complete and utter fucking idiots.

And, rather unfortunately, this bliss didn't last forever.

As with all great tragedies, this actually starts rather happy.

Four years after they married, Keith and Sera began seriously discussing having children, as they had finally settled into their chosen careers, and another year later, their daughter, and son, Annelise and Andrew, twins, were born.

They had been exceedingly happy, as they had both agreed that they had only ever wanted two children, and this was a good jumping off point them, they thought.

This... ended rather badly, because not even six months after their children's birth, Keith and Sera succumbed to injuries sustained in an attack in a plaza by a feral dragon Pokèmon, with Sera only surviving long enough to have a living will composed to will what they had to their children.

After this, the twins were taken in by family.

Annelise by the Carmicheal's, and Andrew by the Yves family, and grew up without ever really contacting each other despite knowing of the other's existence, and the fact that they were twins.

Annie herself was largely raised by her paternal grandmother, Florence Carmicheal, in her home in Slateport, Hoenn, which, largely, meant she was left in the care of a women more concerned with her own grief over her eldest sons death, then the care and raising of her infant granddaughter, and eventually this grief led her to begin trying to make Annie become an exact replica of her deceased father, or, rather, everything she thought herself father should have been.

From forcing her into after school clubs she didn't have any real passion for, to ridiculing any and all hobbies the woman thought were non-essential or stupid, or would lead her down the same 'horrible' path as her father.

This eventually escalated into pure emotional and verbal abuse after a certain point, and Florence ultimately neglecting her with everything else that would, naturally, have to be taken in part of as a growing girl.

This caused Annie to essentially spend sunrise to sunset outside of her house whenever possible, constantly trying new hobbies, or spending time over at 'friends' houses whenever humanely possible, it was through this that, eventually, Annie found her way to Slateport's Contest Hall, where she was able to buy tickets to the contests that were housed within it's walls.

And, well, they enthralled her as a child, always drawing her attention to one thing or another, always something new, always a new spin, and the dedication it took to be able to do such things, well, it fascinated her, but...

Of course, as a traditional woman, Florence found it a waste of time, a waste of resources, and completely irrelevant to the life path that she had for Annie that didn't include a journey, and instead took her straight into college, and through to Law School.

This... didn't sit right with Annie, who instead of following through with her grandmother's advice to do away with the hobby, instead delved even deeper into it.

Of course, eventually, this came to a head, one that ultimately involved a screaming match the likes of which the entire city of Slateport was privy to the weekend after Annie's sixteenth birthday.

Shortly thereafter, Annelise began working every odd job she could possibly, and feasibly, do to save up for a journey she would, hopefully be able to set out on as soon as humanely possible once she turned eighteen.

Unfortunately, that had to be held off a year when Annie broke her leg the night of her eighteenth birthday, and spent considerable time recovering and going through physical therapy.

So, instead of setting off when she was eighteen, she had to wait an additonal twenty plus months before she was able to grab her shit, plus her newly acquired trainers license, and book it to the nearest lab for a starter.
