Hailey let out a gasp at the redhead's aggressive response. "Well!" she said with a frown. "Just because they're breaking the rules doesn't mean we have to as well!" At least she wouldn't be doing so any time soon. If it came up sometime down the line when she was a successful Gym Leader, who knew what that could do to her career and reputation?

The girl had returned her eyes to the battlefield but before she could regain a grasp on what was currently happening, the same loud girl shouted a warning. From the corner of her eye Hailey caught sight of the Celeste's upcoming attack and managed to quickly shut her eyes before the light could blind her.

What finally did get Hailey's attention back on the battlefield was a pained cry from her precious Pokemon. Her eyes popped open to see it taking a Crunch attack from the Mightyena it had been facing off against. She let out another gasp. "Oh no!" It seemed she had become too engrossed in her duties of keeping the peace as a future Gym Leader and forgotten her duties of looking after her Pokemon as a Trainer.

Not that there was much more left to do at this point. One of the Plasma grunts had been knocked out and the other was surrendering. Hailey, expecting all the fighting to stop at this point, took out a PokeBall to recall Beartic. To her surprise though, the Goodra had to get the final blow in and sent them flying into the sky. While probably a relief for most, being at the source of a distress call without an antogonizing force caused her to worry.

"O-oh..." she simply said to Rin's words. Still though, she couldn't help but wonder what the officers would think of all this and how she would be seen because of it. She felt ashamed for it, but for a moment she wished she had never come to help this unruly group.

To her surprise, the redheaded delinquent also had big ambitions for her future. As expected of someone aiming for the spotlight, she played it up for the crowd. At least it seemed to calm everyone down. Hailey wondered if maybe she should chime in as well, assuring that she would continue to ensure the well-being of everyone when she became a Gym Leader. She wasn't sure it would fly in her case though. For a celebrity, all publicity was good publicity, but as a Gym Leader, you were looked up to and needed to be seen as a positive role model. If anything, she feared she'd be criticized for not keeping the situation under control, or not being too busy training to even answer this call.

Hailey was only pulled out of her thoughts by Emily's revelation. "What?! You're Plasma?!" she questioned. "Or rather... you were... is that why those guys made trouble with you all?"

Rin and Company​

Satisfied that Team Plasma wasn’t going to come back down, Sweetpea snorted and looked at the crowd that was nearby. She put on a dopey smile and put her paws on her hips with her chest puffed out. A victory pose or a “you’re welcome” stance; however one wanted to view it.

Darling, still in alert mode, was now sweeping her eyes around everyone, looking for even one hint of a Plasma uniform or unfortunately familiar face. She didn’t trust it was just them.

The Zorua that was left blinked a few times before looking at those that came to comfort her. She leaned into the touch of Angel’s feelers and then let Arianna pet her. Then her nose caught the scent of the food being offered. She jumped in delight as she began chomping away, her tail wagging. Before she dared finish it all, she grabbed one morsel and took it over to Zoro, setting it on the ground in front of him. She didn’t seem at all traumatized in the moment. Whether it was the help of Angel, food, or being away from her trainers, one would have to be a Pokemon whisperer to figure out.

Rin looked at Arianna and wasn’t exactly sure how to respond. The answer was a complicated one, so he took to nodding one right when Emily spoke up.

Looking directly at Emily, he could see that Mr. Zippy wasn’t all too fond of him. Yeah, if he was a smart Pokemon, in which case he seemed to be, that seemed reasonable.

Her approach towards him surprised but a little bit of relief could be felt as Arianna and Emily didn’t seem to care too much about his past. In fact, Emily seemed to relate instead.

With a glance around the area, he frowned, “I can explain more later, but you’re not wrong, Emily.”

At Hailey’s question, Rin said, “They recognized Sweetpea. They probably didn’t expect to get rushed like they did.”

Some of the crowd dispersed as a uniformed woman came striding up with a Manetric at her side, wearing a bandana to match the uniform. “What’s all of the commotion?” It seemed as though she was in the area on patrol when she could hear the crowd murmurs.

  Arianna could have fallen over from shock at the youngest girls words had she not been already flat on her feet. Beyond the fact the girl was claiming their new friend here was part of an illegitimate gang that harassed both humans and pokemon alike she also implied there were more than perhaps a few thugs she might be running from.
  
  At Rin’s cool acceptance and deflections, she could only nod. A story like that was probably best left to when the group wasn’t all out and about. She made a mental note to get the full story later on, perhaps after they managed to make dinner. Instead she focused in on their recognizing Sweet Pea.
  
  “Sounds like it’d be quite a story huh? What do you mean-”
  
  “What’s all of the commotion?”
  
  The girl was cut off by the approaching officer and her Manetric. She spun on her heels getting ready for a full debriefing. This of course was standard, at least that's what she kept reminding herself with the new knowledge of the unknown connection between her companion and the assailants. Oh well she supposed this explained the lack of a pokedex. She took a step forward pulling her hand up into a salute.
  
  “Officer Ma’am!”
  
  She started to ease up once she had finished the salute easing into her more natural relaxation.
  
  “Rising Star Arianna. The distress signal sent out was my own.”
  
  She pulled out her Pokedex, opening up her personal trainer information and sending it off to the woman’s own device waiting to hear the little bleep of the transfer before continuing.
  
  “We ran into a bit of a scuffle with some goons calling themselves Team Plasma. Bit bold there huh? Can’t imagine what trouble they must be giving you. Luckily enough with four of us to their two it went pretty swimmingly. ‘Er for the most part.”
  
  The woman scanned the device quickly, finding the credentials to be valid. Her expression lighted a bit as she did a quick three taps to her left hip calling her Manectric back to her left side so he was no longer threatening to crowd over the other pokemon in the group.
  
  “There there, Nettie.- Hmm a Kalos native under Professor Juniper? Not Sycamore? That’s an interesting story I’m sure. Jenny Officer Jewels at your service. So are all of you trainers then? Or were you unlucky enough to just be at the scene?”

The small girl couldn’t help but smile at his commit “Call me Em and please RinRin don’t be afraid of what ill think of you I can already see you’re not a bad person.” Mr.Zippy glanced up at her from her arms with the look of are you really going to trust this guy. “Don’t give me that look if it wasn’t for him you would faint on the ground three times over today.” The ghost doll would go on to shake its head making fists with its doll hands showing how strong it was and then pointing over at Rin multiple times as if it was trying to list off multiple reasons why he’s a bad person. Emily sighs pulling out his luxury ball from her bag. “You need a nap and some proper rest this time” Mr. Zippy crosses his arms in a mood “I’ll be fine honest ill bring out Ted to keep me company now go to sleep if it makes you feel better you can come back out a bit later” Mr. Zippy sighs but allows its self to be returned to its ball for the moment. Emily then pulled out Ted’s luxury ball throwing it up and catching the small bear in her arms as she snuggled with her furry friend carrying him like a stuffed bear. After she did that she noticed officer Jenny approaching them. “Oh, I’m not a trainer just a passerby who happened to get caught up in this apologize for the trouble.” She says shy hiding behind Arianna.

Looking at Rin, the softest, barely perceptible grin graced his expression. “That’s appreciated, Em.”

As the Jenny Officer approached, Sweetpea sauntered back over to Rin, curling her body around him, using her mass to kind of hide his face from the woman. The Goodra curled her neck over him and looked down at Emily as Mr. Zippy made rude motions at her friend, though she didn’t do anything about them. Instead, once Ted was out, Sweetpea gave a soft lick on top of the Teddiursa's head and nuzzled Emily. It seemed Sweetpea was glad they were safe.

Rin absentmindedly patted Sweetpea as he peaked around her and over at the officer. It was his hope that he wasn’t recognized in this area. He’d been all over Unova by this point in his life, and trying to remember all places he’s… caused trouble in was difficult, as much as he disliked to say. He wanted to make it up to some of the trainer’s that he had definitely wronged in the past.

Well, part of his redemption arc will be taking down the gyms, so there was that little bit of hope in his heart.

As long as he didn’t get arrested first–

Arianna was speaking with the officer, to his slight relief, though a question was then directed at the two of them.

Darling, intrigued by the other electric Pokemon in the area, sauntered over to the Manetric and patted his mane with her pink paws. “Flaa–” her voice drolled out. Seemed she wanted some of the electricity that Manetric carried. Either because she used enough in the fight or because she genuinely thought the other pokemon was handsome.

The police-pokemon looked over at her, stoic-faced. He didn’t bother giving in to the request and instead looked up at Officer Jewels for a command.

As the officer turned a question on them, Rin stepped around Sweetpea despite her protests. He got wrapped into a hug with no choice, getting slimy from the Goodra as he responded, “Not a trainer either, Ma’am.”

Angel picked the guest Zorua and brought her closer to the group as she kept a grasp of the treat she had been given with no complaints. The Sylveon seemed to have a way with others, specifically those that seemed like a baby Pokemon.

  “Oh, I’m not a trainer just a passerby who happened to get caught up in this apologize for the trouble.”
  
  Arianna was quick to put her body between the officer and Emily. She wasn’t sure why Emily wanted to hide from the officer but she figured it wasn’t the best for the officer to be looking into her anyways. The last thing they needed was more grunts trying to kidnap Emily should her whereabouts become known again.
  
  “Not a trainer either, Ma’am.”
  
  “They’re my friends Ma’am! We were looking just out shopping for dinner supplies before Team Plasma went and tried to start shit.”
  
  The officer looked as though she might object and ask more questions but her Pokedex seemed to receive an alert at the same time. The officer looked back and forth between the kids and their phone.
  
  “Alrighty, how about this. For now I’ll let you guys head off. I already have your information Trainer Arianna. Just stay in town for today and tomorrow, we may need your statements later. If you need any assistance monetarily for staying in town please feel free to stop by the local office. I need to help expand a search.”
  
  “Thank you Ma’am!”
  
  She waved the woman off with a smile before turning to the others.
  
  “Stressful day all around huh? Let’s hope my Ma doesn’t come out of the woodworks to make it a trio of people from our pasts. So uh do you guys wanna keep shopping or should we just head back?”

“It may be for the best if we just go back for now.” Emily would peek back out from behind Arianna as she said this. “But um we did basically just start shopping it would be pretty bad if we just left empty-handed.” She would then glance around the stands for something to bring back with them. “Hmm, maybe we could make some pie or a cake it's been a while since I had one of those.” She would then start to stare off into space thinking about sweets. Ted would slightly poke her in the check going hello there earth to Emily​

The corners of Rin’s lips dipped down. Maybe that can be a discussion when they’re behind doors.

Maybe not a discussion at all.

Once Officer Jewels was on her way to her next scene, Darling waved lazily once at Officer Manetric who completely ignored her.

Arianna then asked if they should keep shopping or head back. Emily preferred the latter. Rin nodded his agreement.

Emily went into lala land after looking at something. It didn’t escape Angel’s discerning eye. He put the guest Zorua in Rin and Sweetpea’s care before sauntering silently over to the sweets stand.

Gentle natured Pokémon didn’t stop a Pokémon from falling to typical behaviors of their past evolution.

Rin was more focused on the hyper Zorua. What was in that treat she was given?

“Let’s get going. We can pick up a few things as we head back. I saw a few stores that will let us get enough for food at least,” Rin said.

Darling poked Rin’s leg, giving him a slight static shock, residual of her previous electrified status. Rin looked down at her and saw that she was wanting back in her ball. He smiled down at her, “Nap time.”

Recalling Darling, he looked up at Sweetpea. “Make sure Emily doesn’t get lost please.”

Sweetpea popped her slimy fist against her chest before going to corral Emily for them to go back to the room.

Rin asked Arianna, “So the goal is to avoid anyone you know before it becomes a Blast from the Past kind of day?”
