Roleplay Type(s)
(Before the starter a few rules)

1. The standard, no godmodding, metagaming, etc.

2. I'm going to reiterate that if your character is a trainer or Crusade agent they cannot catch a wild pokemon character without permission from said pokemon's player, and that Pokemon cannot speak with humans but they can understand each other.

And with that I begin the starter.

The day started like most others for Mayor Arpentough, he pushed himself out of his bed, got dressed in some of fine clothes, and gave his sighting chart a glance. There were multiple blurry photos of monsters strewn around the posterboard, a few notable ones were a large shadow underwater, a small furry something speeding across the small picture, and huge stony mass with little to no distinguishable features standing far from wherever the photo had been taken. Barry poured himself a glass of coffee and examined his schedule the man had a few hours until his daily appointments began. He took a sip of his drink and examined the sunday paper there didn't seem to be anything that could be a monster, but Barry knew better than that, there was a story about farm animals going missing. Some might blame it on some normal predator but Barry was sure it had to be some kind of monster, maybe today would be the day he finally caught one. The man grinned at the happy thought of finally succeeding in quenching his obsession.

With that the tubby man left his large house and got into his modest black car, it wasn't anything special but Barry had owned the car for quite a long time and had a bit of a sentimental attachment to it. He put his key into place and went off on an early morning drive.

Far away in a quiet part of the forest Xavier was having a similar slow and peaceful morning. He sat on his hammock for a minute contemplating his daily chores before pushing himself to his feet. There was a little grunt as Fuzzball scurried after him, bumping into his legs and almost knocking him over as the little ball of fuzz kept up with her master. He normally slept in his clothes it wasn't as if Xavier changed outfits often, so he was ready to head outside to feed the pokemon he'd taken under his care. Only about six of them were his, Ace was probably out on his morning fly, Daisy, and Swagger could be heard still snoozing just out of sight. Bruiser was probably napping outside, Xavier was a tad worried as Lady was usually found inside but he couldn't hear the dragon type, nor hear her anywhere. But he could hear the other pokemon under his care, he opened the door of the cabin and went out to a makeshift pasture he'd constructed in his first year in this new world. There were a few pokemon out in the field a Tauros and Ponyta were racing beside each other on the other side of the fence, and a massive snorlax was sleeping deadcenter of the field. There were others but these pokemon came and went as they pleased it wasn't as if the fence could contain them if they didn't want to be here. Snorlax was the only one who never left and that was because it rarely ever got up except to eat and drink.

The bull and horse pokemon came over to eat the food Xavier had poured into a trough as he walked away. He was still a bit troubled on the whereabouts of Lady, he continued to worry about his partner as patted Bruiser on the nose, causing the Aggron to snuffle a bit, he could spot the silhouette of Ace in the distance returning from his flight, but still no sight of his Dragonair. Xavier supposed he shouldn't worry too much, Lady never went far.

A third soul was not having such a peaceful morning. Hearth had awoken that morning to the sound of a screeching Skarmory, the Charizard had growled awake and taken flight to run this challenger out of his territory after a ferocious and fiery battle the steel bird ran off but Hearth found himself in a place he did not recognize. His territory was long gone as the fire type flew over an oak forest. His emerald eyes scanning the ground for any familiar landmarks, and food. For Hearth had yet to eat that morning. Hearth flapped his wings to gain a bit of height and speed, what he saw with his gained altitude almost made him roar in rage. A human city, Hearth had not been around anything made by humans in an exceptionally long time and if the charizard got his way it would've been even longer. A pair of small plumes of smoke came out of Hearth's nostrils as he turned his tail on the human place and began to fly in the opposite direction, he wouldn't go far. For whatever had taken him away from his territory must be nearby and hopefully whatever had taken him could bring him back.

The charizard landed on a dirt path with a loud thump, his nostrils twitching as he tried to find some form of food. These smells were odd, Hearth could recognize the scent of the trees, and that of humans, but he could not find any scents of pokemon, and there were a myriad of smells unfamiliar to him. Hearth continued on foot, taking advantage of the easy travel the path provided, especially for a creature of his size. His eyes flickered back and forth as he stayed on the alert to food, or danger.

The thump of boots on dirt and the jingle of loose metal could be heard a couple feet away from the path Hector traveled. The large man, who wasn't looking where he was going for the most part, walked down the path whilst writing in a leather bound notebook.

Near his feet walked a Sableye and a Zorua, scanning the area with eye and nose respectively for any upcoming turns, people, or Pokemon, Hector mumbling to himself as he jotted down into the notebook he held.

Hector took a pause from his writing to look down to his two companions who led him and spoke "Say, how's this section sound so far? He asked in a gruff and gravelly voice before clearing his throat and reading what he'd written.

"Ahem: Day thirteen in this strange world-" the loud crunch of a gem getting mashed between King the Sableye's teeth cut him off slightly, he took a breath and continued

"So far there hasn't been any signs of the-" Crunch "shadowy organization I've been trying to get a hold-" Munch "of since the start of last year. I know they have to be in on-" Crack "this whole mix up with-" King gave a particularly loud Crunch this time causing the detective to lose his train of thought

"Grrrr! Ya' know King, if ya ain't gonna listen at least eat that gem a little quieter, would ya pal!?"

King shrugged and went back to chowing down before Diggz the Zorua disguised as the gem gobbling Sableye and chomped her teeth at him a few times, she changed back and rubbed agaist Hector's leg, King merely waved his arm at her a few times with a frown before returning to his carbon based snack.

"Heh, thanks Diggz, but King is right: this whole thing sounds pretty boring, I'll work on it a bit more, keep with the lookout for me will ya?"
Both Pokemon gave a confident nod as
Hector took his pencil down from his ear and got back to writing about his travels, all the while walking aimlessly through the woods a few minutes outside of Benton.

The past week hadn’t been particularly kind to Edith. On Monday, she failed her chemistry test. On Tuesday, her garden flooded after a storm. On Wednesday, a galactic rift opened during training, sucked the poor girl up, and spat Edith out Arceus knows where. Before, Edith was able to sleep in an air conditioned home: now, she was sleeping on the cold, dark, dank ground of a cave. At least she had her Pokémon with her.

Morning was dawning, but that didn’t stop Edith. In Edith’s world, sleep was the best relief from the world’s troubles. If bad things happen while you’re asleep, you don’t know about it, but that’s beside the point. Her Pokémon would disagree, as they have a habit of waking her up as soon as possible. Usher was on her lap, Thrush was sitting next to her, and Tiny perfected to sleep in his poke ball. Missi was most likely off somewhere, sunbasking, and Elle stood over Edith, trying to shake her awake. If Elle is being kind enough to shake you awake, you’d better take advantage of the gesture before she sprays water all over you.

“...fine fine fine. I’m up. Are you *yawn* happy...?”

Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes and forced herself to stand up. Tracing her hand on the cave’s wall, for support, Edith staggered out of the cave. A coffee would sure be nice right now...

After about a three minute walk, she came into a clearing in the dark forest’s foliage. In the center, a mossy rock sat with a single line of sunlight cut through the canopy and beamed onto the rock. On top of the rock a small Sandalit was curled up and taking in the sunlight.

“Missi. It’s time to go.”

The small lizard yawned as Edith picked it up from the underbelly, and tucked her in the hood of her hoodie.

The large man stoppes to think for a second before looking down at his two companions guiding his steps, Hector chuckled for a second and kneeled down next to them.

"Well pals, what do ya say we find a place to get a quick meal? Maybe go hunting and set up camp for tonight! I also think you two deserve a break from keepin look out all day."

King and Diggz jumped happily, cheering to the idea of getting something to eat Hector got off his knee and returned to look for a clearing, quickly spotting a break in the trees.

Unfortunately, it appeared this spot was taken by a young girl who was standing in the clearing, but maybe she was just leaving, The detective approached while adjusting his collar, His Sableye watching from the tree line with Diggz.

"Say, there sport. Ya wouldn't happen to be leaving this clearing any time soon, Would ya? I'm lookin for a place to camp for the night."

He asked in a positive tone happily smiling with his approach.

[div class=scrollWrap][div class=textBox] Pushing her way through the thick shrubbery of the forest, a young boy with a rather peculiar appearance, horns [via headband] sitting atop her head would push her way through a thicket, spitting out a leaf or two among her effort. A little way behind her, Rotom would cackle at her endeavors, knowing well that it was capable of helping her, yet choosing to watch her struggle. It wasn't as if this wasn't met with animosity as though her forced attempts through the thicket, she shot a look of disdain towards her partner.

"You bastard, bastard man, the least you could do is help."

And per order, Rotom launched a Will-O-Wisp in her direction. Fortunately, as she was just speaking to the gremlin herself, she was able to throw herself out of the way fast enough from it. This caught the brush on fire that she was trying to get out of the way, which fortunately burned away the brush she was trying to clear through, but also started eating away at the rest of the forest. In a panic, she scrambled to find the Pokeball of her Staraptor, who at the panic let himself out and flapped it's great wings to blow out the fire. And thus, was the character of Investigator Rhys Bywell.

"Kawasemi, go see if there are any other grunts nearby. I'm sure we'll find something, there's no doubt this is the whole 'other world' thing they were prospecting for control over or, whatever. For now let's just find a city or somewhere to rest."

At her word, the bird of prey would fly off, leaving her and Rotom in the midst of what could have almost been a terrible calamity. Though with almost perfect timing as one of her strongest partners left, Rhys heard voices approaching. Peering out from the brush she was trying to leave, a little further down appeared to be an almost picture-perfect opening in the woods, some place she could imagine their a picnic being. From there, she could see what appeared to be a [tall] casual looking girl with her hair pulled back, and a middle-aged man wearing a green jacket, numerous Pokemon surrounding the duo.I feel like I've seen that man before - not that I've worked with him personally, but I feel like he was some small-town detective or something??. It didn't look like either of these people would be a threat to her which was a relief, though she still chose to remain cautious...

...which was not agreed upon by her Rotom, who also seemed to understand that these people did not appear to be a threat to her. Finally, at the appearance of other people for God knows how long, Rotom was itching to bother someone. Before Rhys had the chance to stop it, it shot itself up into the trees above the duo, and shook the branches of the high-reaching berry tree above to hopefully knock some down onto Hector an Edith's heads.

Was that fire.... Not my fire. The thoughts ran through Hearth's head as he snapped his head around. The Charizard was lumbering through the forest, he'd left the path in search of something to eat and had found a few berry bearing bushes, though these berries were much smaller and less substantial than the ones he was used to they were better than nothing, and they satisfied his hunger for the time being. He had yet to run into anything he deemed worthy of his attention, of course he didn't recognize his surroundings and therefore knew he was not in his home territory. The pokemon could not fathom what would've sent him so far away so quickly. He rattled off theories in his head which were getting more and more out there as he went along, he'd deduced that this was either some human meddling, or perhaps some pokemon's trick to get rid of him so they could take his home. The latter theory caused his blood to boil in rage, Hearth was so busy being angry at nothing the his foot fell onto an unstable log, which sent the fire type stumbling forward. He gave a distressed roar as he landed heavily on the ground.

He huffed out of his nose as he picked himself up and shook off the leaf litter that had landed on his back. The charizard turned to walk forward but stopped immediately. He'd fallen in some kind of clearing and was now facing a pair of humans, and their pokemon. Hearth blinked in a surprised almost comical fashion of surprise then felt his tail flame burn with shame that he'd been seen in such a weak situation such as being tripped by his own stupidity. The Charizard huffed and stood up straighter trying to look more intimidating, and regain his composure, then not wanting to be attacked by two possibly hostile humans raised his head high, and turned to walk away. His massive tail swishing behind him.

As the burly detective made his way further into the clearing when suddenly a bush burst into flames beside them, a Rotom shooting out from within up to the treetops, shaking a couple of hard looking berries down from its branches.

"Huh? What's a Rotom-"

his words were cut off by Sergeant jumping off his head into the air, slicing most of the berries in the air, as well as eating the ones left on diced, landing on Hector's shoulder the Croagunk snickered to itself and smirked devilishly while it ate the berries.

"Oh- Nice save Sarg. You saved me a nasty bruise on the head, Now what's a Rotom doing here-"

He was once again cut off by a massive Charizard tumbling down on the other side of the clearing, with a loud crash it sent some dirt, sand, and twigs to the air with its fall. grunting as it slammed the dirt, quickly picking itself up in slight embarrassment and stomping away. Causing the Toxic Frog to snicker louder as it watched the large dragon walk away.

"Uhm... A-anyways, What's a Rotom doin' in these parts? seems a bit too foresty, Say.. did it fall through one of those portals-"

This time it was himself to blame for being cut off, he stopped speaking when he looked to the brush and saw Rhys, dressed like an aspiring Team Crusade Grunt sneaking around lighting fires, He'd have to take action immediately! pulling out a pair of hand-cuffs from inside his coat and shouting at the perpetrating 'young boy'

"Stop right there and put yer' hands where I can see em' Punk! No sudden movements or my buddy there will give ya' a painful poison poke in ya' pockets, capeesh Pal!?! Keep em there Sarg, I'll walk over slowly so he doesn't try anything sneaky."

The strangely yellow colored frog seemed to have appeared almost instantly behind Rhys, one of his poison claws extended to their side, It snickered confidently with a twinkle in its eye as it held the position waiting for Hector to close in, Sergeant loves cornering people like this.

Edith wasn't planning on meeting anyone in this massive forest. She had always assumed that she was all alone and now would have to prove herself, or some other Tauros crap, so you can imagine her shock when a tall, rather large man lumbered right up to her.

"Say, there sport. Ya wouldn't happen to be leaving this clearing any time soon, Would ya? I'm lookin for a place to camp for the night."

Oh, lovely. Hopefully she wouldn't have to engage in conversation now. Just a single sentence and she could be on her way.

"Uh, yes sir. If you'd like, there's a small cave a few minutes walk away. It's not the best but it'll keep out the rain."

Again. Edith was not the best at conversation. Elle, clearly getting impatient, began pushing Edith towards the clearing's exit. Unfortunately, just as the girl began to move, a small oran berry fell through the sky and pelted Missi, who had just fallen asleep. Missi, obviously enraged, skittered down Edith and began fiercely talking some smack to the tree, and whatever else was up there. Almost as if the god of karma himself arrived, a humongous Charizard stomped it's way into view. Now, the Charizard may not have been as intimidating as it would have hoped, but it was certainly intimidating enough to send Missi running for the hills; and by hills I mean Edith's hoodie, where she curled up in the hood and hid.

Preparing for the worst, Edith returned everyone into the pokeballs, except for Usher and Elle. If things go south, Elle had a few water type moves to maybe distract the giant creature.

"Stop right there and put yer' hands where I can see em' Punk! No sudden movements or my buddy there will give ya' a painful poison poke in ya' pockets, capeesh Pal!?! Keep em there Sarg, I'll walk over slowly so he doesn't try anything sneaky."

Oh and now we were arresting people. How fun. As the chubby little yellow frog waddled over to the little boy, Edith really was at a loss as to what to do. The officer probably didn't need any help and she didn't want to interrupt official business... soooo. She began scooting her way back to the rock in the clearing, always keeping an eye on the Charizard. Propping herself up, the young lady sat on the rock with Usher in her lap, glancing from the cop to the Charizard.

[div class=scrollWrap][div class=textBox]Record scratch, freeze frame. That's me, Rhys, and you're probably wondering how I got in this situation. Me, the COOLEST private investigator, having both her hands up about to be arrested? A shiny Croagunk about to jab me in the side? And what I believed to see was a Charizard, the biggest I've ever seen at that? And I MISSED that chance to take a picture?

Let's see, the course of action was Rhys trying to quietly usher her Rotom to stop being the chronic prankster he was, and her being caught in cold blood. For something she didn't even do, at that! Not long after the almost disastrous forest fire, there was the grunt of what Rhys was ascertain was a Pokemon - and lo an behold, there was a Charizard, standing tall and mighty for a few seconds before collapsing on something, and turning head the other way. They should only be what, 5'5-6'2 range or something? It's not common that she saw one towering near the height of trees and such, so that must be quite a rare sight indeed! Though in her bafflement as she went to grab her phone for any picture she should get, comes a voice-

"Stop right there and put yer' hands where I can see em' Punk! No sudden movements or my buddy there will give ya' a painful poison poke in ya' pockets, capeesh Pal!?! Keep em there Sarg, I'll walk over slowly so he doesn't try anything sneaky."

In a panic, she did raise both of her hands so the Detective could see, and then stopped to question herself why. Can an officer arrest another officer?? Well, considering how she's only an investigator that probably seems to be correct, but now's not the time for that. The girl he was with seemed just as confused, maybe anti-social? Most trainers she met faced against her with energy, though most of it was probably thinking she was some youngster. Nonetheless, she seemed to be incredibly low energy compared to other trainers she has met, timid but prepared. Rhys shot a glance up at Rotom, who cackled a bit up from the trees that it's little jest at least caught someone, pleased with itself.

And that's how we got here.

The detective was approaching her very slowly, and if she did make any sudden movements, she certainly would be caught and arrested, and that won't look any good on her resume already than "being fired for being a cop". Though she couldn't get caught now - she's on a mission! That's probably what the detective mistook her as, well, not really mistook considering how she was trying to be mistaken. But for now, considering how it's a poison type that's holding her hostage...

"Well, Detect-" Rhys coughed a bit. It's been a running gag that she made use of that she looks like a Youngster right? In a kind of poor and obviously somewhat forced lower voice [which she's well capable of pulling off, she's just a bit stressed right now and it's not like she'll ever see these people again, right?]

"Well Detective, er, you look like you could use an extra pair of helping Hans around here.."

At the prompt of it's name, Metagross would shoot out from a Pokeball behind her, guarding her from the the Croagunk behind her. it's massive stature causing both Croagunk and Rhys to move apart from each other just so Metagross had room to exist. Though as a result, she was pushed towards the Detective. By instinct, she grabbed onto the outdent of Metagross' body to hoist herself onto it's head for safety. Metagross glared down at Sergeant, not making any sudden moves knowing that the Pokemon was simply doing it's job, but seeming to try and analyze the poison-types next moves.

Rotom had other plans, or definitely had it's own way of doing things however, zooming back down to it's trainer and snagging the small satchel on her belt, cackling as it now circled around the Detective, as if trying to provoke him to take it.

"You little - some kinda partner you are- wAAAH?!"

Not knowing that it was Rotom that had prompted a reaction from Rhys, Metagross tucked in it's legs and flew off in the direction that Charizard was heading in, Rhys clinging desperately to it's head to stay on, and praying to anything that he didn't crash her into the massive dragon making it's leave.

Hearth tried to ignore the chuckle of one of the human's pokemon as he walked off. Hearth could also feel a pair of eyes on his back which gave him a bit of an ego boost. At least he still retained a bit of his terrifying image as he stomped away. Unfortunately for Hearth it didn't appear that his embarrassment was over yet. He heard a commotion coming from behind him, the Charizard turned around and his emerald eyes widened as he saw a a Metagross flying towards him. Thinking that the pokemon meant to attack Hearth moved to go into a defensive stance but was nowhere near fast enough as the steel type stopped just short of hitting him and sent a rider flying into him. Hearth stumbled backwards, not being knocked over for a second time but he backed into a tree knocking it over. Hearth narrowed his eyes at the human who'd had the audacity to smack into him. His tail flame went into overdrive showing his rotten mood. Hearth was about to let loose an angry roar when he noticed something off around the human.

It was small, most likely young, and young humans were arguably Hearth's least favorite kind but this one had... Horns? This human was not normal, Hearth cocked his head attempting to make heads or tails to what he was looking at. Eventually Hearth made the decision that this human had put on some kind of weird head gear, for some form of confusion. The Charizard's tail flame soared back up and two plumes of smoke slithered out of his nostrils. Hearth let out a low grumble, not trying to put out extreme aggression yet, it was a message to the human to move. Hearth was aware of the other humans in the area as well as this one's pokemon, however he wasn't going to turn his back to them again.

[div class=scrollWrap][div class=textBox]Hantel was much more in control of the flow of inertia around him, but that was something Rhys surely could not fight against. Seeing her life flash before her eyes, a sudden stop and a jerk would launch her forward into the scaley body of what absolutely was not the ground. A few rolls later and the crashing of a tree [to which personally, that isn't AS bad as arson so that isn't a crime], the world finally settled as she sat on the ground mere inches away from a massive dragon, little trails of smoke flitting in front of her face and jolting her back to reality as she tried to settle her head. Blinking a few times to focus her own vision, the first thing she did among face to a dragon was pat her head a bit, making sure her horns were still atop her head. They were EXTREMELY important to her - what PLAIN old investigator would just look normal?! After all she WAASS the coolest- though aside from the point, a sigh of relief exhaled learning they were okay.

It was then she heard the low grumble from the dragon in front of her, which she had to turn her head up to meet gaze with. The irritation - and perhaps animosity - in it's eyes were as clear as daylight, and it should have been obvious that that was her cue to leave, as it was easily letting her go right there without a fuss. Though instead of fear, her eyes seemed to lit up. Not of any sort of courage of gut, but perhaps of poorly-aimed curiosity.

"Amazing, you're so much bigger than the rest of your kindred!! Okay okay, hold on I'll get outta your way but just-"

Bolting upright, she grabbed one of the arms of her Metagross to pull a little closer towards Hearth. At any movement Hearth would try and make to leave or give another warning, she'd wave her hand back, as if asking him to 'hold on' or 'quiet for a few seconds I'll be done in a second.' Rhys would climb up onto her Metagross with a bit of a struggle, before looking down at Charizard and then the ground.

"I need to stand on Hantel to even THINK of being taller than you, isn't that so cool?! You can probably pick from berry trees just standing up! I couldn't really eat a lot growing up, so I really never was tall enough to be able to do stuff like that, I always had to climb. Oh - off topic though, are you maybe not from here? You turned face at humans when someone as big as you probably has either a colony of other Charizard guarding this place or like, your own den you maybe grew up in. Though tripping on logs and not immediately being hostile is kinda a tipper that maybe you're from where I'm from."

Seeing as Rhys did not take the 'I'll get outta your way' as instantaneous as she declared it to be, Metagross - Hantel as she had called it - would move out of the way for Hearth to proceed deeper into the forest as he seemed. Unless he was going to give some offhand 'answer' of sorts to Rhys, he was free to leave, though Hantel was still smart enough to know that a Charizard of such stature was not to be messed with [to which Rhys had messed with], and gave Hearth his space as required, it's eyes narrowing trying to calculate Hearth's next move; whether it be a response or an attack.

The young boy seemed to comply with his demands when suddenly a Metagross appeard in between Sergeant and the accused arson, shoving them apart and taking the grunt away.

"Woah!!! HEY FREEZE PUNK!! Sarg! Get into hot pursuit!"

Hector shouted as he made chase for the fleeing 'criminal' Sergeant jumping from tree to tree, but it seemed his words had some effect, the Metagross stopped on a dime sending its trainer forward into the massive Charizard: which, reasonably, got rather annoyed with the attack, causing its tail flame to plume slightly.

"Uh-oh. Sarg, defuse the situation, Diggz bring me the perp! Make it snappy pals!"

He barked while pointing his large arm forward for Diggz to jump off of it and borrowed deep into the ground. Meanwhile with Sergeant a devilish smile overtook his face as he chuckled to himself jumping tree to tree, hoping off of a final branch and landing on the back of the Metagross behind Rhys, letting out a cackle

"Annnnnd- Hit em with it Sarg, take them away Diggz!"

Hector yelled out to his comrades, and they moved as if they'd done this 1000 times before. The yellow Croagunk wound back both his arms and Sergeant used fake-out! thrust both his palms at the back of the perp, with a sharp slap sound from the hands making contact the frog cackled, Sergeant than slammed into the back of the 'boy' to send them falling forward

This bought enough time for the second part of the plan: a low rumble was heard from beneath the ground as Diggz used Dig!
a large hole bust out from underneath her, that held inside a small black fox, when she labded, Diggz grabbed her collar and started pulling her down the length of the tunnel, the Croagunk hopped down and started pushing her down as well, moving as fast as their tiny legs could (not very fast)

"Heh! The hit'n'run! Works every time.... Sometimes... Mostly never.... But it'll work today!!"

Hector positioned himself over the entry way to the hole, waiting for his companions to return, this plan would hopefully work the way he wanted.

Hearth blinked in surprise, he'd never met a human with enough bravery to not only stick around under his scrutiny but try and strike up a conversation with him. It took him a bit to actually process the tiny horned human's actions. At first the human's comment about his size appealed to Hearth's vanity, as the Charizard was not a creature who was immune to flattery. Of course he changed his mind shortly and went back to being mad. The dragon's expression quickly changed to one of surprise again once a hole opened up below the human and two small pokemon jumped out of it and began to try and force it down the hole, humans and their crazy antics. Hearth was pretty sure these two belonged to the only full sized human in the area. Hearth didn't really know what to do in this situation, he had no loyalty to this tiny human, or the others, so he had no reason to interfere with the little plan going on in front of him, but he was kind of curious to see what happened next. Much as he disliked humans, these ones were quite entertaining to watch. With a loud thump Hearth plopped onto the ground in a sitting position. Hearth wrapped his tail around him and cocked his head at the scene going on before him.

Well, Edith had just witnessed quite the scene. It was a bit tempting to just stand up and try her luck at finding a good campsite for the time being. In fact, that might work quite well. In fact, Edith was already standing and was just about to walk away when Usher started gnawing at her hoodie sleeves

"Oh really? Come on!"

The young woman really didn't have a lot of clothes. It was pretty much her one hoodie, maybe three shirts, and two different pairs of jeans so Usher always biting at her clothes, when he wanted to tell her something, was kind of painful. The Axew looks up at her. There was a clear look of prideful disappointment in his eyes but there was also a bit of 'really? you can do better' to his expression. She groaned a bit, but finally let out a small,

"Fine."

Trying to stick with whoever these people were would probably be the smartest corse of action. One of the two had to at least know how to find food so Edith probably wasn't going to starve soon... Edith looked at the poor young boy, who was being dragged through a tiny hole in the dirt. Edith looked at the large officer, pridefully awaiting a dust covered kid, whom he could immediately arrest. Edith looked at the towering dragon of fire and death. Her best chance would be with the Charizard.

For Edith, at least, it didn't take a lot of time to muster the courage to approach the giant, but we're still talking about a good ten seconds. Digging around her bag, she found a roll of bread and a few miscellaneous berries. Edith began walking toward the Charizard, as casually as possible. The strange girl stuck the roll in her mouth as she plopped herself down into a cris-cros-applesause. It was quite unlike the creature's loud 'BUMP' and much more like a 'pubf,' as she sat down. One seated, she used one hand to rip the roll against her teeth, and the other to offer a berry to the dragon. Like a peace offering, only the 'peace' is 'please don't kill me.'

"Hmm, you can't really talk so I can't really expect a response. But nonetheless, I think you're pretty swell! When I was little I wanted to be a Dragon trainer, but people said I wasn't good enough for that. Hell, they say that stuff to me all the time! Well, LOOK at me now, the Greatest Investigator of All T-"

Rhys' motivational monologue was cut short by feeling her Metagross tense up, raising itself as it got into a defensive position. Looking at the Charizard before back down at Hantel, she cocked her head, not sure what the danger was. While this pseudo-dragon looked perpetually annoyed, it didn't seem like a threat?

And then she was aware of what the threat was, suddenly feeling herself being lurched forward by what definitely did not feel like hands. Before she could even steady herself on her feet to figure out what was assaulting her, the ground shifted beneath her and she watched as her world shrunk far faster than she already was short. It didn't even seem like much of a problem at first before she realized small hands were dragging her down the hole, causing her to claw at the ground for a bit.

"Foolish!! Cowards!! I was trying to have a quaint talk with a pseudo-dragon over perhaps a lunch and you DARE SHOVE ME IN A HOLE,"
Rhys coughed, spitting out a few rocks as she swore with what she could see was... a Zorua?

"Apache can you like, dig me outta this or somethi- FGJUNgh??!"

Before she could even finish her sentence, she felt the feet of her attacker, a Croagunk, collide with her face as it also proceeded to shove her into the hole, which seemed to work fairly well considering what little mass she had already as she flailed her arms trying to stop them. At it's name, the release light of the Pokeball would shoot out of the hole she was shoved in, a Garchomp stretching it's tense body as it looked to Metagross, which seemed utterly baffled. Apache looked over to Hearth, who seemed to settle himself to watch the scene unfold. The dragon type would nod it's head up towards Hearth, acknowledging it. In fact, Apache turned his entire body towards Hearth, and with his claws gestured towards the hole that his trainer was just shoved down, before the low rumble of Garchomp's cry would resound.
"This happens kinda frequently. Totally get the cinematic approach - though I DO have to kind of dig her out. I have no beef to strike with you, but I recommend you fly up for just a few seconds so I can do some bulldozing."

Giving that warning, Apache would at least wait a bit for Hearth to either make a temporary move or stay in place and bear the attack. Never one to drag the innocents [though often times it seems like she does] into her own affairs, that was what notice Apache gave which only sounded like the Pokemon cries of it's species. Nonetheless, once that was given, Garchomp hopped straight up into the air...

...before landing hard on the ground, a resounding shockwave spreading throughout the area. Hantel bore the strength of the attack, wincing at the damage, but nonetheless being hearty enough to stand a familiar attack by a friend. It's legs would tuck in as it shot off in the direction that Detective Hector was at, a little ways down.

As a response to the Earthquake, not only were all the Pokemon underground hit by what should be some pretty hefty damage considering they're in a position of Dig, but Rhys definitely took that attack as hard if not harder, considering people aren't made to withstand Pokemon moves. The ground would burst where the tunnel was formed due to the disruption of the stable ground causing at least that small area to collapse, launching whoever was underground up and forward.

Metagross had calculated where the trio would have landed, shooting off to where it was to catch both Croagunk and Zorua wherever they land, or at least provide stable ground for them to land, while Rhys landed directly on top of Metagross with a resounding and painful clash of flesh against metal. Unintelligible groans and a long resounding "owwww" would come from Rhys, not being able to lift herself up to even make some daring monologue. Metagross simply stared down at the Detective, raising one of it's arms in heeding, as if just asking for a break.

TLDR/RECAP

Rhys was jammed in a hole
Apache said "yo" to Hearth as well as "heads up broski gonna shake things up a bit you cool?"
Sergeant, Rhys, and Diggz get Earthquaked out of a hole
Metagross went to catch Sergeant and Diggz to make sure these lads landed softly and Rhys is now on top of it again but considerably more dead [they're at the same clearing that they were all at before]

Hearth stayed put, watching the little scene go on before him. He felt a presence coming from his right and his swivelled his head around to see the other tiny human take a seat beside of him. The Charizard's first instinct was to growl or roar at it to back off, but upon closer inspection he noticed that the little thing looked absolutely terrified. Hearth not willing to be rotten to the small and scared looking thing. He was a tad surprised to see the human offer a berry to him. The massive creature gently took the berry in one of his claws, he popped the berry into his mouth and rumbled in the little humans direction. In what was hopefully a sign of non aggression. It did occur to Hearth just how easily this human had gotten him to show his gentle side, but he supposed he didn't have it in him to be cruel to such a smaller creature.

The Charizard's attention shifted when another pokemon showed up on the scene. Presumably one of the human being forcibly shoved down the hole seeing as where the light originated. Hearth noted the Garchomp's warning with a nod. The Charizard got to his feet, Giving his own rumble in return. "Thank you for the warning" He rumbled. He gave the tiny human sitting beside of him a sidelong glance. Deciding it would be of no inconvenience to carry the human out of harm's way as well. As it would most likely be in the range of the Garchomp's attack. The dragon walked forward and stopped in front of the small human. He couldn't reassure it verbally seeing the language barrier but he ever so gently gripped the little human just under the arms, Hearth tried to give it a reassuring face that said. Please don't freak out, I'm trying to save you from possibly fatal damage and with the human in grip Hearth took off, not too high, but high enough to avoid the ground type attack. After seeing the attack run its course descended, and carefully placed the human back on the ground. He then turned to look at the damage, There seemed to be quite a bit.

The gumshoe sat confidently at the exit of the tunnel, waiting for duo to bring him the young punk, when he suddenly heard a rumble coming from underground

"Eh? Whats that sound? Diggz ain't diggin another tunnel is she? Seems like aah waste of energy if ya ask me but if she thinks it'll-"

Hector was cut off by the explosion of dirt and gravel infront of him causing him to fail backward onto the ground, sitting up quickly he saw the Metagross standing with the Perp, Sergeant, and Diggz all on top of it, the Metagross looking down at him arm raised.

"Ah, Crap! Your team's pretty buff for you being a Crusade grunt, them chumps usually just got honedges and Pawnards! How am I suppose to deal wit this? The only ones prepped on my team for standing in battle are Sarg and.... "

Hector turned 180 to face the napping pokemon surrounded in cracked and dented pieces of quartz crystals, snoring happily.

"KING! REPORT FOR COMBAT NOW!!"

He barked while frowning, a vain bulging on ia brow as he turned slightly red from anger abd embarrassment, his star fighter: slacking off 24/7 he really should have brought Captain with him into this other dimension...

Meanwhile the Sableye's gem eyes fainted slightly, a clawed hand rose up to rub the slightly cracked eye as King stretched out in his little grass bed yawning all the while.

He turned to face his 'boss' shouting at him about 'combat' or something boring, he shrugged and frowned before slowly waddling over to the whole 'situation' taking place, looking on top of the Steelix beast he could see his partner in crime Sergeant, that snobby little shapshifter Diggz, and some tom-boyish girl laying flat on the Metagross

He sighed and rubbed his damaged eye once more, taking a small bite of a crystal as he approached "this amateur shoulda brought the team leader with em, than I would have more space for nap n' snack time... Sheesh." KING grumbled to himself as he walked, taking a deep breath and stretching his arms as if to prepare for something.

Now, for a little bit of background on why a Pokemon lazier than Slaking on Sunday has the name 'King'. King used to live as the alpha of a pack of Sableye, hunting Carbink and other gem like pokemon in his cave, He was on top of the world.
King's attacks were extremely powerful and precise, knocking out even the toughest of opponents in a single blow, up until the day he encountered Team Crusade, trying to wash him out of the cave. He defended his turf until a man Dress in Obsidian armor slashed him in the eye, after that all he could remember was being nursed back to help by some kinda rookie detective and his Rockruff,

Finishing his preparations, King bent backward and grunted as he thrust his head forward and filled the area with an explosion of rainbow light and floating orbs of reds and blues

King used Confuse-Ray!

Sergeant tumbled around a bit atop the Metagross, snickering to itself as it slowly made its way toward Hector, tripping and stumbling all the while

Diggz who was still recoiling from being inside an earthqauke slowly crawled her way down into a bush and painfully made her way to her trainer.

And Hector rubbed his eyes as he totter back and fourth from the blast, he focused his eyes on the Metagross and squinted.

"Guhh... Thanks for the help... King. Now.. Crusade Grunt, what's your deal anyways..? You've got alot of power backing you up! Grunts ain't normally got that... Plus I heard ya say somethin about 'Greatest Investigator' which, as much as I wish it was, know it ain't a complement directed at me, so what gives?!"

Hector grunted, 'Unova Investigations Department' badge gripped in hand, a picture of Himself and a Rockruff in the front, the name labled as: 'Hector and Captain, K9 investigation unit'

The detective slowly standing up with his pokemon at his side's

"Hope this works, I know my pals aint got much steam left in am, maybe King does but I ain't putting all my eggs in his torn up basket"

He thought waiting for the grunt to make a move, like some kind of western his hands twitched at his last pokeball with eyes squinted at Rhys
