Welcome to Pokemon, Johto Academy!

After the events that occurred in the Paldea region, schools have begun to rise in every place possible. From Kanto, to the forgotten Oblivia, helping people reach their full potential along with their Pokemon and friends! We welcome you to Violet City, home of the Johto Academy!

This will be a sandbox rp, allowing people to freely move on their own but at the same time participate in events, such as battle tournaments, cooking competitions, school festivals, Pokemon contests, field trips within the region and some outside of it, going out into the wild to explore and much more!

The school is designed to welcome any student from anywhere in the world, therefore we will have in campus dorms, for those funny or romantic interactions. The academy also includes all the regular activities and clubs a normal school would, plus many Pokemon themed ones. So, if you want to be a doctor, an actor, or the best that ever was, you'll find something to do in the school!

In case you noticed the lil banner at the top, the school is divided into three houses, Ignite, Purity and Strike. The houses are given out normally, but ofc you can choose which one you want for your oc. There will be all types of competitions where you get to represent your team and sometimes they will have to work together to take on other schools!

Ofc there are several classes, some basic ones like math, science, history, etc... but you can also include some for your career choice or just random ones if you're haven't decided your path in life.

Violet City was chosen for the more peaceful kind of life it offers for students, while providing a gym to trainer their Pokemon, the famous Bellsprout tower to either meditate, train or even study and of course the Ruins of Alph. Not to mention having quick access to Dark Cave and with some of the most famous towns just a few hours away!

Fan made regions are allowed and fan made regional variants also, but no fakemon please! Fan made regional variants must have stats similar to its og form, meaning don't add extra 100 points to their total stats, 10-20 is fine if you have a good reason for it. I don't need an entire word document for the fan made region, but a nice summary of it would be nice!

We won't be taking Pokemon stats seriously, but they are a good guide to knowing what the Pokemon is capable of. We will also handle a soft level system, meaning the Pokemon doesn't have to be a certain level, but have an aprox idea of it, to consider what moves it can learn. This way your baby Pokemon doesn't have level 40 moves after hatching.

There will be pvp and if you want to duke it out, go for it! You're welcome to determine the winner on your own, but in case you can't decide who deserves the win, I'll jump in to analyze the battle. This is for fun though, don't take it too seriously, please!

Yes there are uniforms for the students, I know, I'm a horrible person, but these are to represent your house! Watch episode one of season one of Brooklyn 99 if you're not convinced uniforms are nice!

Now I know I only update the female version of the uniform, but the male versions are the same, just with pants. For sports they have gym shorts with the same color as the skirt/pants and red, blue or yellow shirt. Besides the jacket, tie and bottoms, your character is free to accessorize to their content, as long as the uniform is visible in some way and others can identify what house they belong to.

Regarding age, minimum is 12, but no age limit beyond that. Something to consider though, the younger your character, the less experience they have. So, no 13 year olds walking around with a Tyranitar, in games this is totally doable but in a more realistic world, it would take years to get a Larvitar to reach their final stage. 20+ students can have final stage mons, but they must be very recently evolved and have a good explanation in their background as to how they trainer them up to such a high level.

The school is also divided into three sections, Juniors, Seniors and Masters. Juniors are from 12 to 16, Seniors from 17 to 22 and Masters from 23 to infinity and beyond! Juniors can have second stage Pokemon, but should be getting ready to jump to Seniors. Seniors tend to have second stage Pokemon and single stage Pokemon like Tauros while getting ready to fully finish developing their mons. Masters can have Pokemon in their final forms, this doesn't mean they're professionals yet, but close enough.

Is battling the only way to improve your Pokemon? Nope. Pokemon are creatures that have the ability to work alongside humans, allowing them to bond in all sorts of way. Pokemon grow as humans do, so you're partners don't have to be great fighters to reach their true potential, like a scientist isn't less valuable than an athlete.

Megas? At the moment, no, might be included in the future.
Legendary Pokemon? Nop.
Z-Moves? Sure, if your oc comes from Alola.
Dynamax? Sure, but it can only be done in Galar.
Terras? Sure, if you have the terra orb from Paldea.

I'm tired of typing, I'm sure I missed a lot of points, but feel free to ask away :3 btw pg13 romance.

No limit on how many Pokemon, but consider they grow a lot slower than the games, so the more you have, the more difficult would be to keep them all on the same level, on less you focus on a small group specifically.

RAs are students assigned to be in charge of a dorm building/dorm floor and they’re responsible for making sure the students behave and to “enforce rules” in their area of jurisdiction.

How have I never heard of this before until now...?

That's awesome, though. :D Now I just want to make a troublemaker for your character. xD Direct opposition!

They also plan special events for the residence hall, promote school events, and they’re the ones you tell about problems that arise in your dorm room, like a broken faucet or busted air conditioning. Plus, I imagine an RA also has the additional job of monitoring Pokémon battles between residents.

Kicks the door open and let's self in

I'll just go ahead and make myself comfy. Let me know when the cs is up, bud.

I'm deffo gonna make my doggo specialist trainer with an ace H Growlithe if that's allowed.

Alright here's the CS thread

and I made a Discord for OOC, just made it so don't expect much xD

Interested but I have only really played up until Pearl/Diamond. So I might be rusty on the newer things, but would like to give it a go and am happy to use Google to assist.
Unfortunately I don't have the access to the newer games. RIP.
