Luna
lunar_tear_gardevoir_by_junjie_oyan-db7ejx4.png

Luna laughed, a curious sound within one might hear the subtle sound of chiming bells. She'd heard that snake pokemon ate their food whole but she'd never actually seen one do it. Imagining just swallowing food whole like that made her a bit uncomfortable. Then again she didn't really eat that much to begin with, and when she did she liked to take her time enjoying each taste in turn. At least her mother hadn't seen him. She was still trying to get rid of the memories from the last incident involving her mother pulling food out of a customer. It looked like her mother was busy taking orders for now.

“Oh- heh, erhm- well, we’re off today, aside from this, but we’re hosting the annual festival, so you could attend that with the rest of us… No problem in starting to meet people early… Tonight, the commanders could get your living space sorted out… Yeah, we can- we can escort you…”

"Oh you will, that's lovely! Thank you so very much!" Luna grabbed the snake's hand in both of hers and smiled so brightly one might question if she was actually giving off light.

"Ohoho? And what have we here?" A familiar customer came through the door and immediately made a beeline towards the three pokemon. "I come by my favourite cafe to find my least favourite 'mon and his brother talking so nonchalantly with the owner's daughter?~"

"Hello Euly," Luna greeted the Simisear with her signature sickeningly genuine smile. "I'd offer you a piece of cake too, but after what happened last time mama said I'm not allowed to give away food for free anymore." She leaned in and whispered loud enough she might as well have not bothered, "But if you order something I'll try to slip in some extra."

Riliac’s face flushed with redness- he wasn’t one to be too easily flustered, but the fact that she had actually touched him out of nowhere was just a bit too much. He avoided eye contact and pretended that he was very enthralled with the floor tiling while he spoke back, which was now somehow even more broken than before, while he focused on slowly slipping his hands out of hers.
“I- we- yeah, we can get going w-w-whenever you’d like, just- uh- just tell us when you’re r-ready, and we can lea-“
But he was interrupted- or rather, spared from having to continue with his dumb, agonizing speech, by two of the least likely acquaintances- Euly and Derrick. Both, he liked enough- he rarely came across someone he disliked in Gamma Squad- but his brother had some bad history with them. Luckily, they both knew how to blow things over- they had no tendencies of holding anything over anyone. Such maturity could be expected from the upperclass members of Gamma. As for them individually, Riliac quite enjoyed Derrick- they didn’t end up working together often, but every time they had hung around each other, it was a pretty nice experience. And Euly… Come to think of it, he hadn’t hung around her an awful lot, and didn’t know much aside from her reputation. But she seemed nice enough.
He turned his head to face Euly, speaking-
“H-hey Derrick, hey Eu-“
KA-THONK!
-but it was a bit too fast, it seemed, as his extremely large, protruding snake snout had knocked her in the side of the head as he had turned to speak to her. He felt a throbbing pain and closed his eyes, burying his now-in-pain nose in his hands and cursing a bit. This couldn’t be more embarrassing, his own flustering had led to him be even more careless than he usually was.
“D-damn weaponized s-snout… I… Are you o-okay, Euly?.. That sounded pretty l-loud, is your head alright?..”

After listening to Lorelei's less than impressive lecture with the blankest expression possible Shade sat down to eat his cake as Luna and Riliac made embarrassments of themselves, only to end up snickering at his brother's flustered responses. After a good five to ten seconds the Zoroark decided to chime in "Oh speaking of introductions, since someone forgot, the name's Shade, and the fool who's been yammering on for the past few seconds is my brother Riliac." he chuckled out, quick to point out a mistake the Serperior made. "And sure might as well go along with the scatterbrain this time.” he added after seeing Luna grab Riliac’s hand in an ecstatic manner, which was honestly an act that Shade found amusing. The sound of the door swinging open alerted the Zoroark to someone entering, but not quick enough for Euly to waltz up and strongly clamp down on his shoulder. "Oh hey Lazybones." Shade muttered out, his previous enthusiasm having left him behind. Though, his lack of joy at the situation swiftly ended with Euly's cranium being impaled with his brother's snout, causing the illusion fox to burst into a fit a laughter. "Man today just isn't your day Riliac!" he exclaimed with short bursts of cackling in between his words, before calming down for a bit. "So Lazybones, what brings you out here?" he asked slyly knowing he'd get some sort of response from the fire monkey.

Euly

Cafe Lorelei
Euly grinned, and gave Luna a wink, "I wish I could, but after last time, I don't think I should be takin' freebies from your mother anymore-- she has a way of making anything no-- KA-THONK!" Euly was rudely interrupted by Riliac's absurdly hard snout jabbing into her temple, and making her lose her concentration. Pulling away slightly from the flustered Serperior, she offered him a concerned look. "Kid, not that I don't like ya, but I'm just about twice your age. You'd have a better chance with the Gardevoir," though she cracked a grin, and rubbed the back of his head to show she was just kidding. Him, she was cool with. He was a little ditzy every now and again, but who wasn't? She couldn't hate a guy for that.

After all, he wasn't a Shade. Very few people at Delta bothered to try and take her apples, and none in Gamma had dared to try. Sans this annoying overgrown Fenniken, of course. "If your gonna call me anything you Alolan Raticate lookin' wannabe, you'll call me Euly, or the only nickname I'll go by. And I know you know what it is," she snaps, jabbing an accusatory finger Shade's way, "since you just loved yelling it at me after I'd fall through my chair sitting down for breakfast! Or when I'd try to get a bite one one of my apples and I'd darn near bite my dang tongue off!" Euly was quite steamed-- literally, for the white collar around her neck was buzzing with heat, and waves of it were simmering off the fire monkey. However, Shade's question calmed her down a bit, thanks to it bringing her back to why she was here in the first place:

"Second breakfast!~" she smiled, the turn of emotion coupled with a turn to Lorelei. Striding over to the lady of the house, she ordered her usual, "I'll have a Cappuccino, no cream please, with a Cherry Berry Cake-- the whole shebang there, no tiny slice for me.~" Looking to Derrick over her shoulder, she asked the Feraligatr, "You want anything?"

Derrick couldn't help but snort out a laugh from Riliac's display of clumsiness as his snout met Euly's skull, the sound loudly calling attention to anyone who may have been three tables down in the diner. The Simisear's joke to divert embarrassment didn't help in the slightest, though he now felt bad laughing as the culpability was thrown back to the overly modest Serperior; it also didn't help that Shade was picking on him from the get-go.

"It's okay, Ril. Sometimes we gain things from awkwardness that we couldn't possibly gain while keepin' a clean streak." His words were followed by a half baked grin, a possibly obvious attempt to make Riliac feel less flustered, as the Feraligatr probably would have had he been in his position.

Just as he catches sight of Luna and is about to greet her properly, a rising heat and temper from Euly brings his attention back to both his partner and Shade. Before he even tries to defuse the siuation, Derrick lets out a sigh of relief once she remembered why they were here.

"Y-Yeah," he mutters under a chilly breath behind her, now standing next to the counter. "I'll have a large berry smoothie with a chocolate muffin. Uh, listen Euly..." Derrick places a hand over her shoulder— upon feeling a searing warmth emanating from her fur, he quickly retracts it and attempts to ignore the sudden tinge of sharp heat that had pricked his hand. He arches himself to her height and aims his words to her ears, attempting to exclude everyone outside from the conversation.

"I know you don't get along with him, but don't let'em get to you. Jus' take deep breaths... We wouldn't wanna leave any bad impressions here, ya'know?"
He really didn't want to prolong the visit as things were, but now they had to wait for the order to be completed, and of course finish the second breakfast. He stands at full height again before he makes his way back to Luna, who was still with the two brothers.

"You're looking more cheerful than you usually do, Luna. Was it our visit, or did you get some good news that we haven't heard yet?" he teases cordially at the pale Gardevoir with a casual smile, hoping to strike a more refined conversation to pass the time.

Luna
lunar_tear_gardevoir_by_junjie_oyan-db7ejx4.png

In response to being asked about her extra good mood, Luna's smile lit up the room. No really, the Gardevoir was for sure giving off light this time. A plate floating overhead made a detour to thunk against the top of Luna's head. The light immediately faded. "Sorry mama," she grumbled. She turned back to the icy Feraligatr. "Oh yes, very good news." It seemed like she was going to not say what that news was, but she was only able to keep herself from blurting it out for all of five seconds. "I got accepted into Gamma Squad!" The Gardevoir yelled it out so excited that she jumped, at the same time letting out an even brighter flash that would have about blinded anyone looking directly at her.

There was the sound of metal clacking against metal. Luna felt a familiar hand pressing down heavy on her shoulder. "Hehe... sorry mama..." But Lorelei was immune to her daughter's charm. The heavy wooden door, having removed itself from its hinges moments earlier, slammed onto the floor behind her daughter. "Out," the demonic Gardevoir growled, and the door swept across the room, pushing Luna right along with it. It moved back into its place in the frame, hinges reassembling as it slammed shut, with Luna very likely launched some distance outside of the cafe judging by how fast she'd been going. "Your order will be out shortly," Lorelei smiled warmly at the Gamma Squad members that hadn't put on a light show in her cafe.

Riliac stood still, his face tilted downward to hide his blushing as they heckled him. Still, the fact that Euly was alright and had forgiven him made the situation much better than it could be. She could’ve been seriously hurt, but they were both alright… So whatever. The snake kept quiet as the rest of them held a conversation. Keeping quiet was the best you could do in this, just wait until they finish up. Besides, Luna was more than capable of explaining everything on her own- and she did. Or, rather, did a bit more than just talking- the room suddenly filled with more light than he’d ever seen at once, as if someone had thrown a flash grenade- and that bomb was her. Lucky, he thought to himself, that he’d kept his head tilted downwards, as he was able to see the light from the floor and could close his eyes before it got too bright. The shop went quiet as the light dimmed down once again, with only two Pokemon not frozen with shock, it seemed- both Gardevoirs. Luna was giggling, as the shop owner scolded her- or rather, apparently not just a scold, as she caused a door to chuck Luna out of the shop. Riliac’s thoughts fell together once again into place, as he realized she was probably not very happy about what her mother had done. Looking back up, and to the other three members of the squad around himself, he spoke up.

“I- I think I’ll go see if she’s okay… And teach her about the squad… Maybe she can attend the festival with us…”
And with that, he slithered his way out of the cafe as quietly as possible- that mother of hers seemed to be a bit on the less-than-reasonable side. Once outside, he found her slumped against a tree- to which he promptly slid his way towards, wrapping a couple of vines around her shoulders and lifting her back to her feet, before backing up and giving her some space. She’s perfectly able to brush herself off, might want to wait to be acquainted before offering to dust the dirt off her… Some Pokemon are weird about being touched. Now that they weren’t under the pressure of her intimidating mother, he found his throat was a lot less blocked up, much easier to speak.
“So- uh… Your mother isn’t the… The, uh, nicest person around, huh?.. But in, uh, a bit of a weird way, what she did just now kinda… Is helpful? I suppose? It speeds stuff along, you can get out of there early… Would you like to go ahead and start working in the Squad? I mean, you haven’t been assessed for your starting rank by the higher-ups yet, and you don’t have a dormitory room claimed yet, but… Those can wait, right? Because we’re all about to get the festival set up. I’m sure you could get to know some members if you wanna volunteer to help us out, I know you should technically be starting tomorrow, not today, but we’re not up-tight with the specifics… And it might help you out to get a head start, you know? Besides, it could even be fun!.. I mean, if you’re into festivals and that kinda stuff…”

Lila stared grumpily a Luden for a few minutes, as the Eevee didn’t appreciate being shaken around by the gem goblin. Instead of answering his question she instead gave him a subtle nod, while also looking back to see in the crash had woken up bishop, who was still hanging from the tree, before turning back to the boat, approaching the crashed vessel in order to search it for anything that could help figure out how the boat went flying, only to find nothing but a large dent and a gaping hole with... what seemed to be a tooth imbedded near it. She yanked the ivory colored chunk of enamel from its resting place and carefully started inspecting it with an intense level of concentration, at a cost of leaving poor Luden to deal with the incredibly agitated, and dazed, Beartic.

Luna
lunar_tear_gardevoir_by_junjie_oyan-db7ejx4.png

"You're wrong," Luna responded bluntly. "Mama is kind. Her words might sound mean sometimes, but if you ignore them and just watch her actions she's truly a kind person. She hates saying goodbye, so sending me out like this was best." She laughed. "Besides, she's always scolding me for accidentally glowing in the cafe like that. It's a good thing that old Drampa wasn't around today. Last time I did that he was, I think it nearly gave him a heart attack." Luna had the same sweet smile she always had on her face, but her eyes were clouded over in the memory.

Noticing for the first time that she was still covered in dirt from the ground, Luna clasped her hands together and closed her eyes for a moment. At first nothing happened, but after a few seconds a wave of light passed over her body, restoring her appearance to its usual unnatural pristine state. The Gardevoir spun one direction then the other to check for any spots she'd missed. There weren't any of course. "But then again, if you ignored what she said you'd miss out on a lot. Mama is very smart, and she's done a lot, so she knows a lot of things most others don't. It can be a bit of a struggle for others who don't know how she is to deal with her personality though, I suppose."

"I'm more than ready to start doing squad... um, things!" Luna was unusually heated about her new role as a member of Gamma Squad, even if she wasn't entirely sure what that entailed. "I absolutely adore parties and festivals. Oh but I can work too, I'm a real hard worker I swear! Don't listen to mama if she says otherwise. Or if you need someone to go out and fight off enemies I can do that too... probably. I can't make things fly around like mama, but I suppose I could make myself useful as a flashlight when it gets dark." For some reason she seemed pleased with coming to the conclusion that she would only be as useful as a light.

Euly

Cafe Lorelei
Euly whistled watching the scene unfold before her, and waved Shade and Riliac out of the cafe. Always such a ruckus around those two, she thought to herself, taking a seat back where Derrick had sat when the pair had first entered. There she began mulling over what Derrick had said, almost feeling a bit slighted by his remarks. Mainly that he didn't think she could control herself. Well, sure she might not have been the most active member of Gamma Squad, but it wasn't like she had control issues or anything. She was probably the chillest person there that wasn't an Ice-type.

With her brooding over Derrick's words, again steam began to rise from her body, this time from her ears. She was, after all, embarrassed that Derrick had felt the need to talk to her like a child. As if she couldn't control herself-- she just wanted to give that weaselly little Shade a piece of her mind, not a bite of a knuckle sandwich!

Letting her mind drift, she began to think of what plans she had for the day. Since she and Derrick had story telling right after this, and a few hours later, they'd be doing representative work, she knew she couldn't spend the day slacking off without getting in trouble. Maybe even serious trouble. So, then, what was a girl to do?

"I guess I know a few quiet places to take a walk," she said aloud to herself, contemplative, "maybe I'll even attend bits of this festival this year." Usually, she just slept on through it. Absentmindedly, she bit into another of her apples, the crunchy fruit sending waves of clarity through her. Yeah, a walk and then attending the late night festivities. That'd do her good. She'd be knocked out by the time they were over, so it wouldn't be a problem getting to sleep. Plan in mind, a smile dressed her face. Though she'd never admit it, it did feel a little good to plan out her day than just go with the flow.

After awhile. What seemed like a perfectly good rest was finally over. This disappointed the little sleepy head… well maybe ‘little’ was an understatement. The smell of pancakes arose into his nostrils, it was time for breakfast. Out from the depths of the place, emerged a rather interesting Delphox. He seemed to possess a tuft of fur that most wouldn't and appears to be wearing two shirts. How peculiar. Our little friend here is Raymond. A mage who hails from a foreign town. The spoken events of a festival interested him as he went to retrieve his breakfast. It’s not like he often went out to anywhere other than to study. Despite his excitement only a little bit of a smile was seen as he thought about what could go on. It’s as if he’s a bit too nervous to express how he truly feels? Or is it just he naturally doesn't look that excitable? Whatever the case is, it’s clear he was ready to go, but a bit sluggish since he only had just awakened. Raymond decides to head for the setup area of the festival, it’s probably gonna be more exciting than just studying. He’s such a bookworm.

Luden Alston

8798UuN.png

Luden approached the Beartic, although a bit warily as the victim seemed quite enraged at the unlikely incident. Not that he wanted to abide by stereotypes, but ursine Pokemon were usually thought of being irrevocably aggressive once provoked; it also wasn't the first time that he'd seen a bear based Pokemon become distilled with frustration to the point that he was turned into a target himself. Because of that, he decided to approach the ice-type as a curious bystander, just to gather information for a moment.

"Whoa... Are you alright? What just happened?" Luden begins empathetically, aiming his question at the Beartic from a distance as a bystander would.

"What, this? Oh, it's nothin'. You know, just a nuisance that every damned squad in Cherry Blossom isn't taking very seriously!"

"N-Nuisance? What are you talking about?"

"We fishermon have been plagued by this rogue Pokemon, that's what!" he barks at the clueless Sableye, pointing at the remains of his vessel. "You see that chunk of metal missin' on my poor Chilled Paradise?!"

"Chilled Paradise...?"

The Beartic points once more at the now scraped lettering on his boat with a shaking arm. Only the words "ed Paradise" in a sky blue, cursive print was eligible from the scratches and missing hunk of metal.

"That's odd.... we haven't heard anything about a rogue Pokemon on our end. Are you sur—

"Oh, so you're in one of them squads, huh? It's nice to know that our problems aren't important enough for you lot to acknowledge!" the Beartic growls while slowly closing in on him.

"I-I never said that!" Luden counters as he takes a few steps back, though immediately realized that his cover was given away by his words. "We... we just haven't heard of any reports about a rogue Pokemon here in the lake... Not in Gamma, at least. Maybe one of the other two squads might have jurisdiction over the case?"

"Diverting the blame now, huh? That's fine. By all means, just go celebrate your putrid holiday! We've been handling this problem for months now on our own, so I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this eventually", he barks once more sarcastically as he turns his back on the tiny collection of gems beneath him.

Luden exhales out of disbelief from the Beartic's remarks. "Look, I'll see if we can do something about this... I mean, really— we haven't heard of any disturbances here. Not for a long time, at least. Would you at least mind sharing some details, anything that you've heard or encountered?"

"Well..." The Beartic paused for a second, almost hesitating to cave on the suggestion of the Sableye. But he knew that route would be nothing but a harmful one that would eventually bite him in the neck. And not just himself, but the other fishermon that weren't victims of the attacks yet. "Some are saying it's an enraged lake spirit", he finally speaks, "but that's what happens when this thing doesn't even leave a damned clue behind. Just a few teeth every so often. Supposedly, according to these older folk, the creature is protecting the lake from us, whatever that means."

"Teeth? Maybe that might help us figure out what's causing the attacks", Luden mutters to himself as he finishes jotting down notes. "Alright... Thanks for the help. I wish I could do something to help, but for now, we'll open an investigation as soon as tomorrow."

The Beartic nods as he scratches his head with a hint of regret of his previous behavior, though eventually turns back to his loss. Luden approaches Lila, who looked deeply entranced as she held an odd pointed object.

"Well, I got the story"
, he says with a proud smile at the young Eevee, though continues to eye her odd behavior. "Say, Lila... Is something up? What's wrong?"

Derrick Magost

Derrick couldn't help but form a wide, toothy smile at Luna's announcement. Aside the fact that her excitement was contagious, especially considering her impressive and ever constant amiability, the news was almost certainly unexpected. Truth be told, the Feraligatr primarily thought of squad members as robust and physically capable individuals, so it was no surprise that his reaction was a bit on the overwhelmed side when he heard the news (especially considering that it always took him a second to remember that others with more enticing abilities were found as extremely viable candidates).

He was about to congratulate her on her most recent accomplishment, but instead quickly sheltered his eyes from the second luminous, dazzling display that flooded the cafe. His conversation partner became an intense glowing light, and Derrick couldn't help but see a green spot in the shape of Luna's figure once it completely faded. Still partially blinded, the sound of Lorelei's harshly toned voice, alongside the clanking from the door revealed that he was left alone once more. "T-Thanks", he replied to the owner with a hint of unease, while almost forgetting that he had placed an order just a few minutes prior.

At that point, he wondered who'd be the lucky Pokemon to have her as a partner, and how well she would adapt to some of the harsh environments within Cherry Blossom. Throughout the several years of his service in Gamma, he learned that sometimes peace was impossible to achieve through friendliness and a benevolent disposition. Rogue Pokemon were the definition of unpredictable; while some would try to simply survive, others found pleasure in the path of torment and chaos. Even then, he couldn't help but admit that if someone, anyone would be capable of diverting such hostile notions through peaceful intentions, it would have to be Luna.

An odd sense shakes him as he realizes that he was standing by himself, and quickly focuses back to Euly, who was still waiting for her order in their previous seating. He sits next to her once again and barely catches her out loud thoughts, though feels a slight warmth— it was coupled with the subtle smell of a small heater flooding a room with heat in the peak of winter's reign. Derrick studies his partner; he knew this was a signal that she was flustered, except that she currently seemed relaxed once more. With that, he concludes to avoid bringing the topic of whatever may have agitated her into mind.

"Attend bits of the festival, y'say?" he says slyly as he invites himself into her unaccompanied conversation. "There's no take back's, not today there aren't. So whaddaya have in mind after the story telling?" He places an icy elbow over the table, leaning his body toward the Simisear with a playful smirk as if she was going to tell him a secret.

Euly

Cafe Lorelei
Euly jumped a little as Derrick snapped her out of her trance. Giving him an annoyed look, she poked him on the tip of the snout, her finger heated just a little to make the poked area steam a little. "Hey. You ever learn to give a girl a little privacy?" She was joking, at least a little, and gave him a little grin. "And to be honest? I'm not sure. I was just going to go with the flow, I suppose. Sorta... go between food stalls, and try a little bit of everything." Laughing, she sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. It was pretty obvious she had no clue what she was going to be doing there. Even though she'd lived forever in Cherry Blossom, she'd never been particularly interested in the festivities it'd have. She wasn't even sure if there was, like, some kind of dress code. When she said she was just going to walk around, she really, unfortunately, meant it.

"But hey, enough about me, what about you? What're you going to do, Derrie? Maybe I'll tag along, if it's fun enough.~"

Rydis / Aerlyl / Talbyss

Banner.png

The Cherryblossom Commotion "Remind me why we're here Aerlyl?" The noibat fluttering a few feet above giggled. "The festival silly. You two are so focused on your personal training, so I decided today we're going to have fun instead of fight." Talbyss looked over at Rydis out of the corner of his eyes, his constant grimace seeming to amplify at her comment. Rydis sighed as they continued to wander aimlessly through town. "Well then I believe you should lead the way Aerlyl... seeing as you're the most sociable of our triad." Aerlyl giggled again and fluttered a short distance in front of the two larger pokemon. "Well before we go have fun, I had another idea." Rydis and Talbyss looked at each other again, curiosity replacing their previous aggravation. "I know we normally explore on our own with the hopes of finding a new challenge, but don't you think it's about time we settle down somewhere? After all if we don't move around as much, we're bound to have the strong ones come straight to us!" Rydis had contemplated the idea of setting up their own territory somewhere, but that required constant work, work that neither Rydis or Aerlyl would have time for with the constant fighting Talbyss started.

"What are you getting at Aerlyl?" She had stayed silent, continuing to flap her tiny wings and leading the two dragons until they reached their destination, which turned out to be some ways out of Cherryblossom. "We should join a guild!" Talbyss was the first to express his distaste with a snarl followed by a murderous glare towards Aerlyl. "Aerlyl... how would joining a guild aid our cause? We've been doing just fine on our own." Aerlyl landed between the two and glared at Rydis. "No we're not. We spend more time tending to our own wounds than actually finding pokemon stronger than us. If we stay at a guild, we could meet others who are stronger, and they could point us to other strong pokemon!" Rydis thought for a few moments, and looked to Talbyss who was still upset, but obviously thinking over it as well. "You have a point... Talbyss..." Rydis looked over to the larger dragon and Talbyss responded with a nod. "I guess that's that. We're joining Gamma Squad."

Although they had decided on it, neither Rydis nor Talbyss stepped forward. All the while Aerlyl stared them down, amazed at how stubborn they were. "This is kind of sad you guys..." Rydis finally sighed, "I guess standing here all day won't do us any good... let's go in." Finally the three walked in, and as he should have minutes ago, spoke up once they reached... wherever they were. "Hello? We'd like to join the guild as members... is anyone... here?" As Rydis spoke, the lack of confidence could be heard, a rare occasion as it was. "I'm Rydis, the leader of our group, and these two are Aerlyl and Talbyss..."

Rydis and Talbyss really don't know what they're doing.

Galfred had already been behind at the base well over half an hour by now, cleaning up after breakfast and getting the last of the festival supplies together. He didn’t feel lonely in the slightest- this is what he was good at. Though it may make some people feel insecure in their shoes to do his job, he knew well that Gamma Squad needed him. And if someone were to, in the near-impossible case, treat him poorly- well, they don’t have to eat his food! Being useful comes in all shapes and sizes- even if a dragon isn’t fighting, he can still do stuff nobody else could. Such as what he was doing right now- heaving well over two-hundred pounds of luggage onto his back, which he’d stuffed into a backpack. It seems that the Gamma Squad members forgot more and more vital equipment every festival day… Just as he finally got done with the last bit of it- by propping a frying pan up on his head- ready to leave, he heard someone enter through the main door… Three sets of feet, calling to the silent room. He shuffled with the backpack and made his way up the spiral staircase to the main floor from the supply closet and found them… A Gabite, a Noibat, and a Fraxure. From their looks, they seemed to be on the younger side. How’d they end up here?.. Nevertheless, he approached the three, cheerily.
“Why, hello there! Those are some beautiful names you all have! Unfortunately, you’ll find that I’m the only one here right now- aside from you three. The rest of Gamma is out preparing for the yearly festival right now- right where I was about to head, as well. If you’d like to join, I’d suggest going to it- they hold a registration year-round, but if you meet us at the festival, we can get your physical and mental tests prepared immediately. If all goes well, you can become a member by tonight! We always clear out dorm rooms that previously belonged to past members to prepare for this, so you all could get your room set up tonight. Would you like me to escort you to the festival site? It hasn’t started yet, but the commanders should be there already. We can get you three first in line for the assessments.”

Rydis / Aerlyl / Talbyss

Dragonception As the Goodra presented himself, towering above the three as well as carrying a large amount of supplies, Aerlyl was taken back, being a mere 1'3" herself. Rydis was impressed at how he managed to carry all those things on his own, as well as situating them to himself. Talbyss, as usual, simple stared at the Goodra, which was more of a glare so to speak. Rydis spoke up, "Is that so? I guess we'll join you back to Cherryblossom then..." Taking one more look over the fellow dragon, he couldn't help his chivalrous ways. "That's quite the load you're carrying. Talbyss and myself wouldn't mind helping you carry some of those things if you'd like." Talbyss shot a glare at Rydis, but made no noise, and Aerlyl giggled at them. The previous nervousness the trio held had seemed to disappear, being replaced by their usual confidence. Rydis then asked his own question, "What's your name by the way? I'd like to properly thank you for your generous offer of assessing us first, as well as the gesture of leading us to the festival site." Aerlyl giggled once more and looked up to the Goodra, "He grew up that way, the whole knight theme thing." Talbyss gave a small chuckle, a rare noise when he was amused by something.

Rydis the Knight, Talbyss the Duelist, and Aerlyl the Bard... kind of.

Shade was still in the cafe when Luna got thrown out, it was amusing to be sure but the Gardevoir was really the only reason he was still there, aside from the food of course. So the Zoroark quickly polished off the cake still in front of him and left, leaving a small tip behind due to how good the cake was. When he got outside Riliac had just finished his salesmen's pitch to Luna regarding the guild, something the illusion fox always considered hilarious to watch unfold and started chuckling to himself while wondering exactly what the grass snake had going on about. "Alright ya walking billboard, we ready to head out?" he said to Riliac as he leaned on the outer walls of the cafe, looking at the two with an almost goofy grin plastered across his face.

Lila continued staring at the tooth until Luden brought her attention back to him, her head swiveling to stare at his gem-like eyes directly. "Huh... oh, yea I think I've seen this tooth before." She stated with a chipper tone, making sure not to sound too confident in her knowledge of the subject. "Now where was it? I know for a fact I've seen this same tooth twice today." then as if a lightbulb had gone off in her head, turned towards the river feeding into the lake. "It was one of the branches I passed by on the way here, one with metal surrounding the entrance, it was... wait where exactly was it again?" The Eevee's words ended with more confusion than confidence, a sign that she had only viewed the aforementioned area in passing. "S-sorry Luden I guess I don't remember exactly where I saw this." The Eevee said as she hung her head in a shameful manner, unfortunately, this was all she could add to Luden's investigation.

Derrick Magost

Derrick flinches slightly, retreating back into his chair as his glance traces the origin of the warmth with a cross eyed stare. With a quick shake of his snout and flaring of his nostrils, he listens to her words, but was far more focused on her body language.

"Well, food is like... seventy percent of the festivities, ya know? So for sure you'd be getting a passin' grade from me, assuming I'd be grading ya."
His voice was reassuring, accompanied with half a smile and a chuckle. He knew Euly wasn't usually present for the events, though the question as to why she would be joining this time was lingering on his mind. Not a moment later, his second breakfast, alongside Euly's cake, came floating down the table as a distraction. He didn't see Lorelei around, but knew that it was her psychic prowess working behind the scenes that delivered the very appealing orders.

"Oh, and ya mean after the story tellin'?" he continued. "I figured I might scout out the festival grounds before showing up to some get togethers, maybe take a gander at who's gettin' recruited this year by the squads. I hear Omega's getting some interestin' picks this time around." The Feraligatr says this all while focused intently on peeling the waxy wrapper of his chocolate muffin, revealing even more chocolate chips resting within the miniature pastry. The second he finishes, with eyes the size of saucers, he pops the treat into his mouth, barely chewing it, and swallows it.

"If that's not excitin' enough, maybe instead of partying, we can go out and watch the festival games? Ya know, like the three legged race and such. Or we can just go to a bar and drink our sorrows out... Though that doesn't sound like a good idea seein' how we got that panel later on." Derrick cradles his jaw with a hand, now pondering their current limitations. "Or.... there's always that mini carnival that opens up by the mall? What do you think about that?"

OOC: Sluggodile Sluggodile , OverconfidentMagi OverconfidentMagi , if that's alright, I went ahead and placed the orders on the table.

Euly

Cafe Lorelei
Euly nodded along to what her Feraligatr friend had to tell her about the festival, a little surprised there'd apparently be so much food there. In fact, she was a little more than surprised. She was, after all, salivating, even though her cake hadn't even arrived yet. "Oh man, I'll be more than passing, Derrie. I'm going for a hundred and ten percent!~"

As their food arrived, Euly only barely managed to shoot him a slightly annoyed look at his comment about when she'd be joining him before carefully slicing apart her cake with the small knife at their table. "Well duh, that's only, like, half an hour after this. We'd barely have time to get to the spot and set up, much less try to do anything else. Use your noggin, huh?" Finally biting into her cake, its succulent sweet and spicyness swamped her mouth, coating it, and filling it (and her) with a happy warmth. Just barely containing a squeal from just how sweet the slice was, Euly let a content sigh escape her as she finished her first bite, "Fwah! Oh man, if I'd spent even half the time cooking as I did eating, you think I'd be able to do this too?" She'd always asked that when they visited Lorelei's, but, of course, Euly never really followed through. Unlike gardening, which was work, but laid back work, cooking always felt so hectic to Euly. Way worse than even taking bounties-- at least there she could rely on her training to let her win pretty easily-- since she was such a novice at the craft.

At the mention of Omega, though, Euly scrunched her face into one of disgust, despite in the middle of taking a bite of her cake, "Eeegh, those guys. I never liked 'em when I was with Delta, and I sure as heck don't like 'em now. They're uptight and cold-- and that's after Mount Freezeyourbuttoff!" She couldn't hold her disgusted look for very long, though, as the taste of the Cherry Berry Cake hits her in full again, causing her to blush with just how good it tasted. Blushing, being something Euly very, very rarely did. At least, enough so you could see it through her fur.

"Wellllll," she says, offering Derrick a dubious look, "we cooouuuld always bring our drinks with us to the games and carnival! I'm not much of a drinker anyways, so if you start going overboard, I'll stop you, and you can do me!" Offering the Feraligatr a wink, Euly bit into another slice of cake, before finally drinking her slightly warm coffee, relishing in the juxtaposition of bitter with sweet, and warm with hot. "But I guess that's probably not a good idea, huh? We gotta stay all sober, and stuff, for that panel... mweeehh... I guess the carnival's a better idea. I guess."

After a few minutes, Euly was finished with her order-- the cake and coffee inhaled like everything else she put near her mouth-- and she was ready to leave. "I'll go pay, Derrick. I've gotta set a good example for my youngers, after all.~" Placing the money by the register, Euly dinged Lorelei's little bell she kept by it, letting the Gardevoir know that their order was complete. Afterwards, Euly returned to their table, waiting for Derrick to finish and take the lead on their fun, festive day.

“Haha, yeah… I- uh… You said you like festivals and stuff, then? That’ll be good for the celebration! I think you’ll do well in Gamma Squad, and this is the perfect way to start your duties, y’know? With a nice festival where people will be explaining us in more detail. I highly suggest using your time meeting other members, making connections… I’ve no doubt you can fight pretty well on your own, but in some battles that may ensue, no matter how strong anyone is, every member that helps you counts! Take me, in fact, I’m super weak- don’t get a good move pool, less-than-amazing stats, but I still am useful with my brother here’s help. Now, let’s go- how bout it, fantastic mister fox?”

And with that, he turned around and pat Shade on the back, gesturing for Luna to follow them. He was heading towards the setup site, which wasn’t far off at all. Only about a five minute walk, maybe… It was easy to know that’s where they were supposed to be going, too, because other Gamma Squad members could be seen going there as well along the way. A couple of members, he exchanged greetings with, but most were quiet, most likely lost in thought about what jobs they were assigned to for the festival.

“Oh, no, I’m fine! I may not be much of a fighter, but I can carry this much with relative ease! Just come along, I’ll take you to the festival…”

And so Galfred held open the door for them, gesturing for them to exit alongside himself, and locking the door behind them. They strolled along together through the dense forest, the Goodra having no trouble with the load, yet still going at a bit of a slower pace. He preferred to take things easy when he didn’t need to be anywhere too soon- today was supposed to be a fun day, despite the work! Craning his long neck a bit, he assessed the three as they walked, in a friendly manner.

“My name’s Galfred! If you’ve not recognized what I am yet, I’m a dragon-type as well, so it’s quite a coincidence the three of you met myself first! Thought, I’ll say I’m one of the less powerful dragon-types… I know what you three are, though! Let me think a bit, I bet I can remember the names… Rhymes, I’m pretty sure you’re a… Fraxure? With a quite beautiful color pattern as well, I might add… And Talbyss- would you happen to be a Gabite? We’ve actually never had a Garchomp on our team before! And lastly, Aerlyl… I’m pretty sure you’re a Noibat! You three will be quite the force to be reckoned with when you fully evolve, yes! Garchomp, Haxorus, and Noivern! What a team!”

Luden Alston

"Wait, you're positive that it was that same tooth?" Luden glances at the debris that Lila was just investigating moments earlier, then back at the tooth that she was holding. The wonder in Luden's voice was only matched by his sparkling gaze, the sharp rows of his teeth revealed by an almost impish grin. "I still can't believe that you found a clue! Honestly, I was worried that it might have taken a lot longer than that," he whispers the last bit to himself, "though if we find another, we can maybe verify that it's from the same culprit."

The Sableye paces around for a few seconds, then rests his hands to the back of his head, staring at the reaches of the rather imposing lake. "Say, Lila, would you want to retrace your steps? Maybe if we do that, we can get to the bottom of this capsized mystery."

Assuming that the two would go on a scavenger hunt, they'd need to hurry. Although the festivities still needed a bit more time to officially begin, they wouldn't want to overdo their audacious detective work when they were short on time.

OOC: Rapror Augustine Rapror Augustine , I'm really sorry! I totally forgot that you had responded over a week ago. I'll also probably include Bishop the moment we return if we do go search.

Derrick Magost

Derrick couldn't help but let out a laugh upon listening to Euly's commentary about food, though kept his words to himself. Her positive remarks were always foreseeable, even more so on such occasions when her meals met her smile like they usually did here at Lorelei's. Though he was glad to hear she'd be enjoying the festival stands, the contour behind his grin weakened at the mention of time. Half an hour didn't seem like a lot to move about, especially considering the number of people clamoring the streets. Still, he didn't mind setting up late to the story time. In reality, that just meant that they'd be a bit late to hosting as Gamma's B-rank for that what-cha-ma-call-it panel.

Derrick noticed that he was staring at the clock on the wall when he snapped back a bit later into the conversation. "Cookin'? Ya mean food, or our enemies?" he chortled the joke as if it wasn't the first time he said that.

He chose to completely ignore her comment about Delta, as he didn't want to ruin the mood any further than by bringing back her past any more than he already did. It was rare that their history was brought up, and he avoided that topic at all times because of moments such as this one, aside the fact that he detested the subject on his own end. Still, there was a very minor impression emanating from Derrick that he wanted to counter her criticism with his own.

Once more, he had zoned out, barely grasping the passing conversation the moment Euly sat back down from her trip to the register; he didn't like when she paid for their meals, but he'd just have to remember to treat her for the next time they had second breakfast... which would probably be tomorrow.

"Yeah, as temptin' as you're makin' it sound, I jus' think it might be too risky with the higher ups bein' there, and all. I'd rather not be demoted over somethin' we can get away with on any other given day," he says with a smirk, almost as if his words had a bit of experience behind the suggestion of drinking on the job.

"By the by, thanks for the treat,"
he mentions with his wide, toothy grin. A second later, a heavy hand is affectionately swatted at Euly's back; the type that guys usually do with each other that end up sounding like a carpet beater at work. He was too busy chugging his smoothie in order to depart, so Derrick didn't notice whether Euly managed to take the hefty pat well— plus it was something he assumed his partner was used to at this point.

"Ready?" the Feraligatr asks rhetorically with half a smile, as he was the last one to finish. With his chair scraping against the floor, Derrick stands and heads to the exit, hoping that his partner would follow. The city air was warm as the sun hanged almost directly above them, though this time in comparison to others, Derrick focused more on the streets and signs than he did the weather. Surprisingly there weren't many pedestrians at this hour, though many had familiar faces from Gamma squad heading in the same direction. It almost felt like they were going to a meeting, which made him a tad uncomfortable, but this made it all the more simple to lead without much difficulty.

After eight minutes of leisurely crossing streets, dodging early festival peddlers, and waiting for red lights, the duo arrive at their destination. The majority of the Gamma members present were a bit focused on their own business, setting up displays and brochures for the event. By the look of things, they still had a bit more time than previously anticipated.

"I think this is it," Derrick mutters with a gloss of uncertainty to the Simisear, obviously unsure as to what they needed to do at this point. He looks around to check if he notices any faces with names, already distracted and ready to mingle.

Euly

Just because Euly was tough didn't mean she wasn't going to nearly collapse from a Pokemon just about twice her size clapping her back so hard. So, when she gasped, it wasn't so much in pain as it was in surprise. And, though she wanted to say something, she couldn't help but feel a tad bit embarrassed at her reaction: it was just a friendly slap on the back, and she lost her balance that easily? It made her feel a little steamed just thinking about it, but she was careful not to mention that.

"Yeah yeah," she replies, a little edge of annoyance in her response. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't hide the fact him nearly knocking her over was half frustrating, half embarrassing. But, she thinks to herself, he didn't mean it, so... I suppose I won't bring it up for now. If he does it again, though... She cut that train of thought short, as she realized her partner was getting away from her in the midday traffic, which was unusually light. Well, it would be unusual, if it weren't for the fact today was the day of the Festival. "H-hey, don't leave me behind!" She stumbles after Derrick, making sure to not forget her badge or wallet this time.

...

"Has to be. Lookit all the familiar faces!~" Euly replies, noting, but not commenting, on Derrick's uncertainty, and bolstering it with her own confidence. "Anyways, I'm going to go find the story-telling place, and nap there for the next... twenty or so minutes we have until story time, okay?" She asks, smiling. "What about you? Going to hang out with the rest of the squad?" She couldn't see him coming with her to just sleep-- he was much too caught up in being sociable. She wouldn't mind him coming, though, but she wouldn't pester him to join her.

Euly
After a while of just standing around, Euly grew tired of waiting for Derrick to make up his mind. She was normally pretty patient, or so she felt, but when it came to getting naps, and all, she was just the opposite. Waiting for someone-- even her partner-- to answer such a simple question with a nap being on the other side of their answer was just unacceptable to her. As such, here she was. Asking this face and that which was the right direction to go to get to the story plaza, or whatever it was called, that she was going to be speaking at.

This went on for a few minutes, to the point Euly was beginning to feel nervous, like she was going to miss her chance to get sleep in before the story telling session for the kids. She really would need that sleep, after all, if she wanted to concentrate and not get told off by her superiors for slacking off or scaring the kids with a bad story. Eventually making her way to a familiar psychic fox's side, she rested a hand on his shoulder, out of breath from all the running around she'd done.

"Ray, buddy, help a pal out? I'm-- phew-- looking for the story plaza: you know the one; where we tell all those cool adventuring stories and stuff to the kids? Couldja point me in the right direction?" she pleaded, offering Raymond a shaky grin. She really needed that nap right about now.
