josephine_by_kumoriryuu-d9aws60.jpg

Age: 20
Sex: Female
DOB: December 25, 1996
Birthplace: Saffron City, Kanto Region
Height: 5' 11" (~180cm)
Weight: 140 lbs. (~63kg)
Hair Color: Indigo Blue
Eye Color: Violet
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: (Example starts at 0:27)

Starter Pokemon: Torpius (Female)

Personality: Josephine is a difficult person to read due to her rather troubled past and stoic exterior. Typically she is seen with a face that betrays no emotion whatsoever. No happiness. No anger. No sadness. Not even a sense of just being content. Expressively she is a blank slate with no tells whatsoever as to what she's feeling. Unless she speaks up or if you have strong psychic power and can read minds, you would never know what in the world is going on inside her head if she didn't say anything.

Josephine is rather cold when she first meets new people. It's not that she wants to be, nor that she is cold naturally. She is defensive. She'd rather whomever it is she's just met think of her as nothing but a casual acquaintance than a potential new friend. To that end she naturally tends to give one-word answers to questions and presents no interest in what's going on. Even when something is genuinely exciting or fun, she will never express it until she is alone and has time to smile and think about what a good time she had when she knows nobody is looking.

Biography: Josephine Falenas was born on December 25, 1996. Being born on Christmas Day came with a lot of mixed emotions. For one she was grateful to be born on a holiday, but the fact that she only got one round of presents instead of two like most kids did irk her a little in her youth. Her mother, Francis Yssandra Falenas, was and remains to this day a working artist and sculptor of Pokémon art. Some of her mother's art even hangs in museums dedicated to protecting and preserving modern art. Her father, Richard Rahl Falenas, was a successful entrepreneur who made a rather sizable fortune since he was part of a research team which helped develop the first in a new generation of Pokémon Trainer Safety Equipment.

Her father's invention is called the PokéLife App. It's an app installed directly into the Pokédex which monitors the owners vitals using a specially crafted and non-invasive electronic pulse. This pulse scans the user, bounces back information which is read by the app, and determines when and if the user is ever in danger, injured, severely ill, or in any other potentially life-threatening condition. If and when this is true, the Pokédex automatically sends out an alert to the nearest local law enforcement and emergency response units and broadcasts via satellite GPS tracking the location of the owner. This app has already saved over 2,200 lives since it first hit the scene in 2009, and continues to be one of, if not the single most important apps in the Pokédex today.

As for his daughter, Josephine... She grew up a perfectly normal child for the first handful of years of her life. But when her father died in a small plane accident during a business trip, everything went south. His business partner claimed total ownership and control of the business they'd built together and cut off Josephine and her mother from sharing any further fortunes. He also took them to court claiming the fortune earned by her father was rightfully his since he was the primary engineer behind the app. The court, thanks to his lawyers, ruled in his favor and Josephine and her mother had to pay nearly all of what they had to him as damages. Left with next to nothing, Josephine and her mother scraped by until her mother remarried when Josephine was five.

And so began the worst years of Josephine's life...

We won't go into what happened to Josephine over the next twelve years of her life from the age of five to the age of seventeen. That information is private and she keeps it well close to the vest. However we will inform you that they were enough to completely change a previously happy, go-lucky girl with a bright and positive disposition into the cold and apathetic woman she has since become. Known now as the Black Rose for her cold and apathetic demeanor, she travels the Kanto Region as a seemingly soulless wanderer who only stops to rest and eat at local restaurants and inns. Otherwise she keeps to herself and rarely if ever stops to speak to anyone for any reason unless she knows them or believes that they have or know something that she wants or needs to hear.

tomoya_by_kumoriryuu-da9uzgi.jpg

Age: 21
Sex: Male
DOB: February 17, 1996
Birthplace: Blackthorn City, Johto Region
Height: 6' 1" (~185cm)
Weight: 185 lbs. (~83kg)
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Grey
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Baritone (Example starts at 3:37)

Starter Pokemon: Venom (Zubat, now Golbat)

Personality: Tomoya is a steadfast, proud, and confident young man. Having trained in martial arts from an early age his self esteem and his sense of self worth are through the roof. Nobody can get him down, and nobody can insult him or throw him off. He is immune to taunting and goading, and once he makes up his mind nobody can change it unless he is presented with proof to an opposing solution which is superior to what he came up with initially. He is intelligent and well educated, having come from an upper middle-class family who prioritized education over all else. But he has a good social life as well and knows how to be a people person.

He's a bit of a big kid at heart as well. He is very curious and always eager to learn something new to apply to his knowledge pool. He also loves exploring and going wherever his instinct takes him. Every now and then this gets him into trouble since he doesn't always look before he leaps, and he's wandered into the dens or territories of several large Pokémon in the past which forced him to run for his life. A scary experience, but looking back it was almost always entertaining to him to think back on how silly he must have looked running and screaming from a Feraligatr when he got too close to the riverbank as a ten year old trying to go fishing.

But everyone has a dark side... And Tomoya is no different.

Despite his usually bright and unflinching nature, he does have his moments. At his core he holds no sympathy for those who do him wrong. A good example of this apathy and uncaring nature was revealed when one of the neighborhood bullies in Blackthorn fell into the lake and was attacked by a trio of Carvanha. The hungry and angry little Pokémon nearly removed his left arm before he scrambled out of the water with blood pouring from the gaping bite marks and rent flesh. Tomoya watched the whole thing without batting an eye. When the bully asked what the heck was wrong with him for not helping, Tomoya simply replied... "Karma". The bully didn't lose his arm, but his arm is permanently crippled because Tomoya refused to help him since Tomoya was one of his frequent victims.

If you've done Tomoya wrong and are in a life and death situation, don't count on Tomoya to help you.

Biography: Tomoya was born on February 17, 1996. His father, Hirito Akabane, was and remains to this day a successful Pokémon League competitor and former Pokémon League Champion. He won the title of "Most Powerful Trainer In The World" one time in 1989, seven years before Tomoya was born. It is a title he holds with pride and the trophy still sits in the family trophy room behind a locked glass case. A bit narcissistic, but it's not everyday you get a title and trophy indicating you're the "best in the world" at anything. So there's more than a bit of pride in the family about this achievement.

Tomoya himself aspired to be like his father from a young age and his father gave him a private at-home education on Pokémon Training starting at age 5 alongside his regular scholastic work. Because of this Tomoya has a fairly thorough knowledge of how to be a Pokémon Trainer even though he's never had a Pokémon of his own. But knowing what to do and being able to do it are two different things and that's where most of Tomoya's nervousness about having acquired his Pokémon Trainer's License came from as the day for testing approached. Tomoya passed the test with flying colors and acquired his License, but when he received his first Pokémon, a Zubat, he was scared out of his mind that he would do something wrong and hurt it or cause it some kind of undue stress.

Thankfully he was able to utilize what his father taught him to properly care for his new Zubat. It was purchased from a Breeder when it was still young, and since during its short life had seen it cared for by humans Zubat was quick to warm up to his new owner and bonded with Tomoya in a matter of days. Tomoya name Zubat Venom, a name he took to readily. Though it was difficult getting Venom to adapt to a life lived mostly during the day, it worked out easily enough and Tomoya was able to help him adapt in a matter of weeks with some help from his father. Venom evolved into Golbat by the time it was two years old, which was one year ago now.

Tomoya elected to simply become a vagabond Trainer going wherever his instincts take him. And it's because of this that he met someone interesting and formed a rather unique, albeit odd, bond. Josephine Falenas. The Black Rose and a wanderer without a Pokémon companion of her own. The first time they met was in Celadon City's game corner where Josephine was passing time casually sitting and watching people play the slots. Tomoya engaged her in conversation, but her stiff and one-word responses rubbed him the wrong way. But Tomoya didn't let her off and called her out on that behavior. After a rather lengthy conversation with her, he learned that she was naturally defensive around new people and didn't want to make friends.

Tomoya didn't accept this, of course, and so he kept pushing and talking until Josephine at last got up and left the game corner telling him to "bug off". Tomoya encountered her again a few weeks later in Vermillion City at the harbor watching the Cruise Ships like the S.S. Anne floating in the water. She recognized him the moment she turned to look at him when he called to her, and looked back out at the ocean. An hour of badgering later and Josephine snapped again leaving Tomoya behind with a firm "leave me alone!" command. Tomoya, either out of a moment of genius or naiveté, felt that he was having a positive effect and promised himself that the next time he saw her he'd convince her to go with him to get a Pokémon of her own and travel with him for a while.

Well... He did that. They ran into each other again three months later at Cerulean City where Josephine was sitting by the river taking a nap which Tomoya rather rudely interrupted. She groaned upon seeing him and asked him if he had anything better to do with his life than bother her. He said "no", and she about fainted from mental exhaustion despite the conversation lasting less than five seconds. He sat next to her and asked her over and over again why she wanted to be alone to which she finally screamed "I don't know!" at him. But having gotten her to admit that much, he was able to gently talk her down into a calmer state and convince her that having a Pokémon for a companion would be a good thing for her. Once he got her to agree to that, he convinced her, very carefully, to travel with him so he could teach her the ins and outs of being a Pokémon Trainer and that once she felt she was ready she could part ways with him and just enjoy her new Pokémon.

Josephine reluctantly agreed to this arrangement, and so now Tomoya has a (reluctant and still grumpy) travel companion!

Name: Travis Bernard Namera
Age: 24
Sex: Male
DOB: June 21, 1992
Birthplace: Nimbasa City, Unova Region
Height: 5'10" (178 cm)
Weight: 185 lbs (84 kg)
Hair Color: Pale blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Baritone

Starter Pokemon: Weylin (Bulbasaur, now Ivysaur)

Current Team:

Weylin - Ivysaur (Male)
Hannah - Darmanitan (Female)
Jaxton - Machoke (Male)

Personality: At first glance, Travis seems like a cold and emotionless person. With a neutral face that often ranges from looking bored to practically glaring, it tends to put people off. However, he does have a rather kind personality and is often shown to have a caring and helpful side which led him to join the EMT. While emotions rarely find their way to his face, his voice certainly makes up for it. Genuine feelings of worry, happiness or whatever emotion can be heard from them and they would often twinkle in his eyes. There are times where he cracks a very small smile or give someone a light chuckle in the spirit of things but the former seems to be much more frequent than the latter. Friends often tell others to give him a chance and not to base his personality off of his appearance since he's the very epitome of "Don't judge a book by its cover."

He has quite the patience and would rather stall than hurt anyone else. He is able to keep calm in the most dire of circumstances, a trait that is needed in his line of work, and was even known to hold his ground while a member of the Team Rocket pointed a gun at his face. However, after a life-threatening incident like that, he often needs to take a breather away from everyone else where he releases the tension that has built up in him. While he doesn't like showing it, he definitely has an opinion - negative or positive - on a variety of objects and can fight for his point should he feel the need arise. He's rather stubborn when it comes to a select few beliefs.

Many have claimed that Travis is reckless when he's on the job, and reckless he actually is. Risking his life for another's is not a foreign concept to him and would do almost anything to get someone out. It takes effort from his partners to pull him away a no-win situation and he'd be mad for a couple of hours before he finally wraps his mind around the concept of there being no hope. Alarmingly, this trait of his, while it lies in the spectrum of him being an effective EMT, seems to have consumed his being. He pities himself and sees himself as below everyone else, a thinking that has remained throughout his childhood and well into adulthood. It hadn't been effectively removed because he had been so good at hiding it that no one knew, often finding him 'helpful' instead of 'self-derogatory'. Despite it happening a long time ago, nearly every movement that includes getting close to him makes him flinch involuntarily. This came from the physical abuse he endured when he was a child. Though people try to at least help him get over it, there seems to be little to no chance of recovery from this, just like his almost permanently neutral face.

Biography: Travis Bernard Namera is a name that wasn't used on him until ten years after his birth. His real name had been Garfield Tolley. The reason for the complete name change was to bury any connections to the Tolley family after they had been arrested for being part of a criminal syndicate separate from Team Rocket. It had also been proven that Garfield had been physically and emotionally abused by Haley and Ryan Tolley, his biological parents. He recalled being slapped repeatedly for crying when he was three, perhaps even earlier though he wasn't sure about that, and acquiring a nasty burn that still remains today on his back - a rather large portion of it is scarred skin thanks to Haley smacking him with a hot metal pan. His inability to show emotions on his face is believed to have stemmed from fear of being hit once again by his parents at the slightest show of emotion. It is believed that he will likely not recover from this, evidenced by years of therapy without much improvement.

However, placing him under the Namera household, whose parents were most accepting of his presence, proved to be helpful as he had showed emotion in voice. After adopting Garfield, they changed his entire name so that he would not look back to the horribly traumatizing events of his life whenever he looked at his name. It proved difficult for Travis to simply forget about it and would often flinch at the slightest inclination of movement towards him, unprovoked or otherwise. Frank Namera and Julia Namera tried their absolute best to treat young Travis right so that he may be able to grow up like a normal child now. Travis seemed to instinctively take over a lot of household chores in fear that he may get shouted at, even though his parents said that they would handle it. When he was twelve, his adoptive sister was born - Laura Namera. As she grew up, Travis learned how to love a family member to the fullest and would often dote on her.

As Travis grew up, he seemed to take an interest in Frank's work. He was part of the Emergency Response Team working directly under a company which spans over the entire world - encompassing all of the regions. While Frank was usually stationed in Unova, it wasn't rare for him to travel elsewhere as part of an exchange program and would work at some other region. This meant that they needed to have extensive knowledge of the other regions before they became EMTs. After Travis told him that he wanted to be like his father, Frank quickly obliged and began to tutor him while making him go to school so he can officially be trained like he was. Travis learned quickly and graduated at the top of his class, an honor with a medal that is left in his house for his parents and sister to see.

Travis graduated at 18 years old, which also meant that he could qualify to take the test. After being pep talked by his parents, he then went on to take it as well. He had passed, his score being above average but still not well within the topmost scores. Travis accepted this and then proudly presented his license to his family and then they threw a party. However, he only chose a Pokemon when he was 20, where they visited a breeder to look for a Pokemon that Travis had wanted. Frank had his own Joltik which he simply adores but there was no way he was going to give it to Travis since he still had work. Julia seemed to have no need for a Pokemon so she never took the test. He chose a newly hatched Bulbasaur that was ready to be adopted and was promptly given to him.

To say that there first few weeks between the two of them were rough was an understatement. Between having to work as part of the EMT, he had to train and care for the Bulbasaur - which he had named Weylin. This was stressful for him since getting close to a Pokemon was a foreign concept to him. He was given advices by his seniors and other first-time handlers. However, what truly made the two respect each other was when they were attacked by a wild Growlithe. It easily wiped the floor with Weylin since he had been relatively new to battling. Of course, Travis threw himself against the Growlithe, using self-defense skills learned from when he was young, and managed to scare the wild Pokemon away. Recalling Weylin to his Pokeball, he hurried to get him healed, worried that the Bulbasaur would't like him anymore.

This proved to be wrong as their bond grew stronger and now has enough trust in each other. Weylin started to follow his commands and then began his training. To help with being an EMT, which sometimes included heavy lifting, he managed to teach Weylin how to use Vine Whip and then would often train him to become stronger. As time passed by, Weylin began to be a relatively common sight in his team and sometimes a crucial part of a mission. Travis, himself, would help with this which showcased a rather good partnership between the two. After three years of being together, Weylin had evolved into an Ivysaur - a stronger version of his old self and continues to help Travis in his job.

Though still young and rather inexperienced compared to his seniors, his close-call saves and great skill in analyzing situations made him a rather well-known responder in the Unova region with some other responders knowing about him in different regions when he was transferred there. On his free times, he can be seen walking around whilst trying to learn more about each place including its history and culture. He could sometimes be seen engaging in Pokemon battles but this is only because he wanted to pass some time and isn't keen on actually fighting in gym battles or whatnot. However, he seemed to like being part of the Emergency Response Teams and actually seems to find it as his 'calling' in life.

Jamie Callister

Age:
23
DOB: August 22
Birthplace: Lumiose City, Kalos
Current Location: Nimbasa City, Unova
Height: 6’4
Weight: 156
Hair Color: Blond
Eye Color: Bluish Gray
Body Type: Ectomorph

Voice Type: Tenor (starts at 1:04)

Starter Pokémon: Flabébe, now Florges

Team:

Floette - female, Samantha
Leavanny, female, Tailor

Personality:
Jamie is a quiet introverted man. He has never found it easy to socialize and spends most of his time alone. He still enjoys being with other people, he just prefers to be alone. He enjoys reading and coffee, and likes to absentmindedly take notes about the world around him. His partner, a Sliggoo name Samson, takes up most of the young man’s attention. Most of his sketches and notes are about the pokemon’s behavior. Jamie enjoys his work at the police station. Not the whole taking down thugs and being shot at part, but just knowing he’s making a difference is enough to add some interest into his otherwise boring life. His mom tells him it’s also the only reason he has any friends, but Jamie disagrees.

Even though Jamie only has one Pokémon, he is still one of the better people on the force. This isn’t because he is great at battling, but because of his tactical mind and ability to think on his feet. Jamie also has a strong set of morals, believing in equal rights and wanting everyone to be treated the same due to his father’s teachings.

Biography: Jamie was born to a middle class family in Lumiose City. His father, Adam, was unemployed and his mother, Sigrid, was a lawyer. His mother worked long strenuous hours so Jamie was raised mostly by his dad. Adam did his best to teach his only son good morals and to treat people as he would like to be treated. He also introduced Jamie to Pokémon at a young age to hopefully kindel the flame that he had once had in his younger years. Jamie spent most of his preteen years at school and then at the library or with his friends. He also loved to play with Pokémon, often spending hours at the pet stores just staring and occasionally petting the domesticated Pokémon.

When Jamie turned 16 he began to hang out with the wrong type of people. They seemed fine at first glance, but hidden underneath was a group of serious criminals. Jamie, 16 and with very little friends, was desperate though, and clung on to the group like a terrified infant. He had not yet come to terms with the fact that he had trouble making friends and that he was better off with very few, extremely close companions than many not great ones. He always tried to convince them not to rob this liquor store, or not to vandalize this wall, but they always threatened and brushed him off. Jamie was desperate though and still hung out with them.

For a few months the toxic relationship went on, but when one of the boys nearly killed someone, Jamie had had enough. He told the group stop as they pushed the man they were robbing to the ground, tried to pull them off. The boys retaliated by turning on Jamie and robbing and beating him. As the boys ran off, the police pulled into the ally with Jamie and the other man. Adam picked his son up from the police station cells that night, and ahead a thorough talk with the boy. Jamie explained and his father forgave him. Adam told Sigrid that he wanted to move away from the boys and a few months later, Sigrid got a job in Nimbasa City. Jamie was sad to leave even if it was for the best. He ventured out one last time into the mazes around his hometown where he found and captured a Flabébe. The family lived in relative peace from then on. Jamie moved out and eventually became a part of the police force. Samantha the Flabébe evolved into a Floette after helping Jamie defeat a group of thugs and helped Jamie become a better trainer than he had ever been! In the few years Jamie has lived in Unova, he has caught one Pokémon, a sewaddle in his endeavors.

{Age} 32
{Sex} Cisgender female
{DOB} May 3rd, 1985
{Birthplace} Lilycove City, Hoenn

{Height} 5' 1" (~154cm)
{Weight} 154 lbs (~69kg)
{Measurements} 38"-32"-45" (link)

{Body Type} Endomorph; pear shaped

{Hair Color} Electric/cadet blue; dark brown
{Eye Color} Brown

{Voice Type} Alto (link - starts at 0:18)

{Appearance} Gemini stands at a short five feet and one inches, weighing around 150 pounds, give or take. She is curvy and colored, with the skin of a decadent caramel candy. Her electric blue hair is styled in a fashionably fluffy fauxhawk (like the second image), with her more natural umber brown, understated shaved curls on the sides. As said before, she is curvy, with wider hips than shoulders and breasts. She is pear shaped, with an average waist yet thick thighs. Her waist appears proportionally smaller due to her wider assets, however. Because she is so short, most of Gemini's features appear bigger than they are, this being especially so because of her more plus-sized measurements. Being thicker than most often has its disadvantages, such as knocking down things on tables by accident due to thick hips; but also its advantages, such as being able to clear hallways without having to ask. Gemini's skin is very smooth, with no clear signs of distress or marks; well, this is other than her stretch marks, aka her tiger stripes.

{Personality} Gemini is a very calm and collected person. She talks, sure, and is honestly very opinionated when the time calls. She is very protective of others simply by nature, and has no problem defending herself with a snap-back attitude. She is very clever and observant, often being found using her surroundings to her advantage. She is a critical thinker, being able to think up solutions to problems on the fly. Gemini often takes the leader role in most situations, whether it be due to her age, or simply because she likes organization and control. She is often labeled as the strong and silent type, or the motherly one whom everyone goes to to fix things. She is intelligent and quick-witted, and usually refuses to take no for an answer. A both bad—and good thing—about Gemini is that she will often get very immersed in something she is doing, often becoming quite
competitive as a result. She will easily stand up for her rights, as well as what she believes in.
She may be a very calm and collected person as an overall, but Gemini will become something similar to a loose cannon when angry enough. It is hard to get her angry, but when she truly is angered, she can be hard to handle. She is very gentle with Pokemon, and would never think of being anything else otherwise; when they refuse to cooperate, however, Gemini has no problem laying down the iron fist.

{Biography} The life of Gemini Moore has never really been too eventful, other than a couple substantial events. She grew up in a middle class home in Lilycove City, Hoenn with a constant interest in Pokemon, even growing up with their influence as a young girl. Her mother worked for the Pokemon League as a gym trainer under Hoenn's own Tate and Liza. Therefore, her mother was quite the trainer, with an Espeon, a Kirlia, and a Starmie as the pets Gemini grew up with. Because she lived in Lilycove, and her mother's gym was in Mossdeep, she traveled a lot to commute to the island off the east coast of Hoenn when she was young. She experienced skilled battles firsthand, watching Mossdeep gym's competing trainers. As the seventh gym of the region, not many trainers made it past Tate and Liza, or even their gym lackeys, such as Gemini's mother.

Her father ran a more general job, as a construction worker around the region. Gemini did not see him much due to all of his work-required travels, but he also carried his own Pokemon, a Heracross, to assist with the job. She saw him every so often, that in which she always appreciated throughout the years. It was always nice to have him stay for a bit and have a nice reunion of sorts.

Gemini also had a brother that she grew up with named Laurence; he was a spunky young man, although four years her senior, so they had a bit of an age gap. They were decently close, but when he had turned 18 before she had, and gotten his first Pokemon, a Phanpy, Gemini had gotten decently jealous, an emotion that honestly was not really her. Due to the age gap, she was only 14, so she had a while yet to get her Trainer's License. Once Laurence had received his license allowing him to train Pokemon, as well as being awarded with his first, the two siblings became somewhat closer. It was mostly due to Gemini wanting to interact with another Pokemon that was not one that she had grown up with, one that was new. It was like a new toy to the young 14-year-old girl, even if it was something she could not have, not legally, anyway.

Once Laurence had turned 21, he had left for a trip. He was a pilot looking to travel the regions, now having a few Pokemon of his own. As a man who believed strongly in animal rights, his Pokemon were almost always out of their Pokeballs. He saw it also as a better way to truly bond with them, rather than inhumanely forcing them into capsules and keeping them there until the trainer themselves needed them. He was traveling from Hoenn to Unova; the Unova culture had always fascinated Laurence, and he was looking to better himself as a trainer and person, as well as possibly capturing one of Unova's own unique Pokemon to call his own. He never knew what was in store for him when he was close to arriving, however.

What happened was that he had crossed over Route 7 while one of the route's typical storms were brewing. It was a common piece of Unova knowledge that was often overlooked, and usually not on any of the region's tourist websites. Because he was flying a helicopter, he was in a much lower zone than what airplanes would typically fly. A lightning bolt had struck him down, and an explosion lit up the stormy sky. Laurence had died instantly on impact, as well as a couple of his Pokemon. With no way to escape from the crashing air vehicle, his Donphan had died as well upon impact from the ground, having survived the bolt of lightning.

The news had not arrived to the Moore family until a couple weeks after in a letter once they had finally been able to identify the body via the nearby Unova morgue in Opelucid City. Gemini was only 17 at the time, so she was simply working dead-end jobs up until the point that she would turn 18 and take her test for her Trainer's License. The entire family was devastated; it just so happened to be one of those times that her father was actually home for once from his job, so he was there to receive the news as well. Gemini, being only a teenager, spiraled into a couple years depression at the mention of losing her only brother to something so coincidentally tragic. Because of said depression, she did not even take the trainer's test until several years after the event when she was around 21. She simply could not bring herself to do it. It just did not happen even when she did feel like taking said test due to other family priorities.

Gemini finally received her Trainer's License at the age of 21. Because of her familial experience, with her mother being quite the trainer and all, she passed the test without much trouble. Her first Pokemon was an Oddish, along with her soon catching others to form a decently balanced team. In a couple years, she had quite the team of Pokemon. Even so, Gemini did not really see being a Pokemon Trainer as much of a profession, especially because that was what her brother Laurence was.

Even so, she had began her first year of college at age 19, a couple years before getting her first Pokemon. By the time she had her Oddish, Gemini was already a sophomore in college, studying for a degree in Astronomy. She eventually learned that the degree was completely useless by the time she had been awarded with an Associate's degree, as she had already taken up having a Pokemon team of three. Gemini had learned that her Pokemon's company was far more fulfilling than learning about the stars and the galaxy.

She switched her majors immediately, instead taking up a couple classes in Pokemon Physiology and Battle Tactics, as well as other classes that were similar in nature. In a couple years, she acquired another degree in Pokemon Behavior. By age 21, Gemini now had a couple college degrees, one in Astronomy and the other in Pokemon Behaviors. She was well-read and well-studied, and continued to take classes based on the latter major in hopes of Bachelor's degree. She soon achieved this goal by age 22 and received a Master's in the same field by 23.
By this time as well, she had formed herself a decent team of Pokemon partners. They were young, but getting there in the ranks. Her Oddish was now fully evolved into a Vileplume, as she used a stone on it immediately once it had turned into a Gloom. Because she started her trainer's career late, she wanted to get ahead as much as possible to make up for lost time.

Gemini also had a Masquerain and a Sandslash, as she trained them vigorously to evolve more quickly to make up for lost time. She wanted to have more Pokemon in her team, of course, but college took up quite a bit of her time, not enabling her to do so. But she liked her classes. She was one of the few trainers in her college classes, so she was allowed to let out her Pokemon during lecture for easier learning for everyone else. As a result, she made quite a few friends in college. Gemini was finally beginning to become happy again after her brother's death. Her Pokemon really helped her with that.

More years went by, and eventually Gemini felt it was time to go on to bigger and better things. Her team was beginning to get old, and not able to perform as well, especially because she had them evolve so early. Even so, she felt like it would be better to make a new, different team in the places that she would go. So, at the age of 26, Gemini had decided that she would leave Hoenn behind and travel the world's regions. When she was about to leave, however, their puppy Electrike in the house refused to let her leave. They had raised the puppy since near birth, as a storm had resulted in the mother loosing the Electrike.
Gemini had seen it as her own little baby, and she could not bear to leave him behind either. His name was Jupiter, and she soon took him along with her to leave off to the Sinnoh region.

Gemini spent a couple years in the Sinnoh region, capturing a few Pokemon here and there, but only really sticking with two: a Snorunt named Rose and a Combee named Scarlet. Along with her Electrike, Jupiter, she soared through the region with no problem, especially with her knowledge of Pokemon biology and behaviors on her side. Her Electrike soon evolved halfway through her adventure, because she had him since birth, so the bond was stronger. It was also easier to train him because of this. A year later had her other Pokemon evolved as well. After going through the Sinnoh region, Gemini took a small vacation in the Battle Island, off the north of Sinnoh's Pokemon League. After a bit of time off of heavy training, Gemini had decided it was time to travel again. Out of the seven main world regions, three were already marked off for her: Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova.

Gemini knew that she would never go to Unova, due to her brother's passing. It would be far too emotionally difficult, and she would not want to put her family through that risk, nor her family and beloved Pokemon. So she settled on Alola. She would vacation in Alola for a couple years and capture herself a Mareanie named Maeve and a (INSERT ALOLAN POKEMON HERE). During her adventure, they soon had evolved as well. At 28, she finally left to the Kanto region.

{Specialty} Gemini does not really have a certain preference towards typing, although she does not care much personally for Ground or Rock types, herself. She does have a small bit of favoritism towards Electric and Fire types, however. She finds herself to be able to train Grass types in a much easier fashion than all the rest of the types.

{Tactical Overview} Gemini is a very strategic battler. She is very offensively-based, and often overwhelms her opponent with sheer power as well as a mighty understanding of what makes Pokemon tick. Due to her classes in college, she knows all about many different Pokemon weak points. She also is quite a user of moves regarding status ailments, often using moves that will paralyze or poison the opponent. She also favors moves that mess with a Pokemon's abilities in battle, such as evasiveness and accuracy. Often times will Gemini use moves that boost attack, or even ones that recoil her own Pokemon due to her favoring of sheer power over defense. Having been a trainer for quite a while, she knows how to bond with Pokemon, so many people, especially her opponents, will come to learn quite quickly how in-tune Gemini is with her Pokemon.

Cross is a pretty average looking young woman, lightly tanned skin, a smattering of freckles and curly brown hair that's normally pulled back. Only thing not average about her is her eyes, which are a surprising pale green, and her muscular build.
For clothes, she's always seen in a green hoodie and blue cargo pants with tons of pockets. Along with that, she has black hiking boots on her feet. In the way of accessories, she has a green striped scarf, light blue fingerless gloves and a weird forked feather attached to a silver chain. She refuses to tell anyone where she got it from, and normally keeps it tucked inside her shirt. She also has a floral print backpack she keeps everything in.
Name: Cross Laurel-Elm
Age: 26
Sex: Female
DOB: June 18th
Birthplace: She's not entirely sure about her birthplace, but she was adopted by a family in Blackthorn City, Johto:
Height: 5''6
Weight: 159 lbs.
Hair Color: Chocolate brown
Eye Color: Pale green
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Alto

Starter Pokemon:
Luna (Female Chikorita, now a Meganium)

Personality:

She's a quirky, intelligent and fiercely loyal young woman. She'll always have some kind of clever quip to throw in your direction, along with a silly dance and tune to it. If you manage to make friends with her, she will defend you to the end.
She is also stubborn, brash and brace. She might be intelligent, but that doesn't mean she knows when to back down. She sees her goal, she goes for it. And she is often too stubborn to be persuaded away. This can often land her in some pretty bad situations that she somehow manages to get out of.

Biography:

Cross was adopted by the Laurel family, a very wealthy family of seven. Two parents and five kids. They lived just outside of Blackthorn city, in a massive mansion where they held grand galas, ravishing dinners and absolutely jubilant balls.

And Cross hated that life.

While she was indeed living in the lap of luxury, hundreds of servants waiting to attend to her every whim, she never felt so completely and utterly alone. The mom and dad of the house were always off on expensive vacations, and the kids had other activities to do, like... croquet or something? Painting "masterpieces" and taking piano lessons and all sorts of boring stuff. Cross never saw a wink of that. She was there to look pretty, smile for the cameras. She was a doll on display, a show of the family's "charitable contributions to society". She was their charity. They adopted a poor unfortunate lost child, and got some form of good repute from it. She didn't particularly hate this new family, but she knew exactly her purpose in the family. The only one she had a close relationship with was the youngest daughter, Elle. She was a sweetheart, an absolute doll who had been tainted by the prim and proper lifestyle her parents had given the rest of her siblings.

It was all a perfectly mundane life until everything went up in flames. Literally. Local authorities are still arguing over whether the cause was purely accidental or if it was planned arson. Either way, the young Cross, at ten years of age, was the only one who survived the blaze. She fought her way out of the lush mansion, her own flesh sizzling and burning, and without taking a moment, in her blind, pained panic, she began stumbling down the mountain. She wailed and screamed, ducking and running from the various Pokémon that would bare down on her, the entire time seeing shadowy figures following her, till she suddenly tumbled over a rock and everything went black.

She woke up in a hospital about a week later. She was being watched over by the Police and an older man with dusty brown hair and glasses. The man identified himself as Professor Elm, and he had found her in the forest when he went out to check on his research subjects. Not too soon afterwards, it was confirmed that everyone else in the Laurel family died. All except her. And yet again, she was left alone. She spent many years being fostered by the Elms, till eventually they just outright adopted her. And Cross was much happier with them.

She watched as Pokémon requested by the professor found their registered trainers and were always carried away. She found she wanted, perhaps even craved having a Pokémon of her own. When she expressed this to her new dad, Professor Elm was ecstatic! Finally, someone else in the family as interested in Pokémon as him. He showed her his entire encyclopedia of Pokemon and gave her the opportunity to pick the one she wanted.

She saw the super-rare, absolutely adorable Leaf Pokémon Chikorita and said, "Yes. This is the one." And professor Elm already had a connection to get his hands on one, so he made some calls, and soon enough, the little female Chikorita appeared at Professor Elm's doorstep. Of course, technically the little thing didn't belong to Cross, but the two were allowed plenty of time to interact.

The pair hit it off immediately. This Chikorita had been raised precisely for being bonded with a trainer, so she was already friendly to people, and immediately upon seeing Cross, the little Grass-Type smiled and the two were inseparable ever since.

Once Cross passed her Trainer test, she took to helping her dad with his research. She found that she really enjoyed doing the work he did and decided she wanted to do this with her life. This, she began to do her own research. Research which she has kept classified this far, even from her dad. She says it's very important, and keeps it well hidden.

Personality: Atlas is a quiet, patient person of balanced disposition. Isolation made him initially a lonely individual, but as time crept by Atlas has become complacent and satisfied in his solitude. Because of this lack of human contact, Atlas has lost a lot of emotional radar and understanding, often misinterpreting human behavior. He can be come across as cold or unsympathetic – viewing humans as animals as much as Pokémon, and thus considering them part of the chain of life. When comfortable he is calm and monotonous. When agitated, he will usually remain silent, the only sign of his displeasure being a piercing gaze. By Atlas’s own admission, he usually prefers the company of Pokémon over humans.

Biography:

Born into Alola’s poorer districts, Atlas was sold off to pay for rent. He remembered very little of his parents and didn’t really care to return to them. The slave peddler he was sold to used him for common ground work in a vast estate, a better fate then most of his kind. During these odd jobs, he was patchily educated by other ‘groundkeepers’, learning to speak English and the way to survive as a lower-class citizen – albeit with a lot less honesty and a lot more ‘borrowing’. Atlas in his limited free time observed the Pokémon that surrounded the grounds he was stuck in for entertainment, learning to become patient and quiet so he could observe them without scaring the creatures away. Using this silent attitude, he stole and kept safe the one possession that had value – a large white stone, something that the slaver had kept loosely on display in the entrance hall. Finally having something of personal worth, his mind began to hope – and in turn pull away from the robotic thoughts of slave work.

As Atlas grew older he watched the animal surrounding him more, their freedom inspiring his own growing ambition. Feeling a real emotion this strong implored him to escape his ‘prison’, the only thing keeping him and the rest of the slaves there a loose guard and the manipulative training to enforce the trapped and broken souls from ever thinking of escape. Observing the Pokémon that crept into the grounds had shown him the eroding areas in the large walls, and he escape through these exits. Now free and without anything guiding him, he decided to immediately escape the islands, so he would never again be caught.

A boat stolen does not mean a sailor born however. Atlas began his journey on the second day he’d escaped, bringing a small amount of food and water he’d scavenged along with the stone. to a fishing boat he spied on the ports beyond the estate in his youth. Taking the basic rowing transport, he slowly rowed from Alola, his own strength and the tide taking him until the islands became a distant spec.

Hours of travel turned to days as his limited food and water dwindled, Atlas growing weaker as his body began to starve. At about two weeks, with no food for days and rainwater growing scarce, he collapsed and fell unconscious.

A thudding bump awoke Atlas as the teenager crawled to the edge of the boat. A glimpse of blue skin and a blowhole was all he saw before he fell into a daze again, dehydrated. The next time he woke rain was falling onto his face, and he was on a shore that he’d never seen before.

The next few days Atlas took advantage of nature’s bounty, slowly rejuvenating. The bounties here were plentiful, and many insect Pokémon were taking advantage of this.

The Nincada

The fifth day was the turning point. After he’d been crawling, and then shakily walking from tree to tree. But today he could run. The feeling of the sand against his feet was incredible, albeit hot. The warm but durable old cloak his days as a slave kept him warm, despite the memories it had. Atlas decided he should try and make some form of footwear – the rocky surface of the scrubland past the beach had looked much less kind. Using a trick he’d picked up from the older housekeepers, he began stripping one of the strange fruit trees he’d found of bark, threading it into a tight fitting covering over his feet and lower legs. Finishing the first bark ‘shoe’, he reached for another piece of bark to find it strangely resistant.

“…?”

Tugging it a little further, he inspected it to find a strange bug-like creature holding the opposing end of the bark further up, chewing on it stubbornly. The bug Pokémon was four legged and had green eyes that stared down at Atlas irritably. He released the bark, the thing scuttling up into the safety of the tall fruit trees. Taking less high up bark, he finished the other shoe and picked the low-lying branches.

For several days, he began to regain his muscle as he established essentials, dragging the damaged boat on shore and propping it up with a strong log to make it his shelter. A fire was the next step, as he found refracting small lumps of dirty glass (a sign that a fire Pokémon had been perhaps a little too excited, maybe?) made for far less energy than trying to use friction and sticks. Now able to cook the fruit he found their taste to be improved and had his first warm meal on the seventh day.

The Eighth day the rain came. The shoreline, unprotected by any precipitation blockage unleashed a torrent down, and Atlas found himself hungrily nibbling the remains of his previous meal underneath the relative shelter of the upturned fishing boat. As the day grew on he began to drowse, only awakening when he heard a scuttle.

Turning to his side, the boy found the same, if bedraggled Nincada shivering and wet. It seemed numb, for it didn’t resist when he began drying the bug’s carapace with his coat.

The next day it slept there once more, eating a few of the fruit he had stored. Atlas did not mind this.

The next day, the bug would sleep next to him.

The next day, it slept closer to him for warmth.

The next day he felt like he had a friend.

Now with his only Pokémon by his shoulder Atlas decided to leave the comfort of the beach, making a large lopsided urn out of the boat’s damaged sides to carry water. Keeping as many fruit as he could in his pockets, the boy and his cicada set out into the scrub. The scrub turned out to be short lived, as it transferred to brutal desert. The heat was not as intense as the deserts the slavers had spoken of, but was as equally dry. The large mountains he would learn to be called the Kanto ranges kept the precipitation from coming in, and he’d managed by luck to enter through one of the only bays into the shielded dunes. He travelled onwards, the heat beginning to irritate his eyes.

The second day in the desert Atlas was walking down a large dune when he tripped, falling down the hill clumsily. When he turned to see, what had tripped him, the upturned tip of a strange boat was visible. Learning to call it a dune rider he slowly unearthed it, and the former owner. The strange skeleton had a masklike structure he assumed was to keep the sun and heat off his face, and it fit him snugly. Now with transported he slowly learned through the next few weeks to channel the wind to his desired direction, operating the sail fluidly. He’d rather not remember all the times he upturned it though.

The Tynamo

After several months, learning the lay of the dunes and becoming an adept survivor, he came across his second skeleton. This one was vastly different, as it was more recent – he could see the bird Pokémon flying away from it, their bellies full of human flesh. The person had clothing – poor clothing for desert wear he mused, and appeared to have a collection of strange ball things the traders called pokeballs. Intrigued, he fiddled with the only one that didn’t seem dented or cracked, causing a bright red light to flash out. A strange fish met his eyes and he slowly picked it up in his hands. Was it dead? He couldn’t tell. Poking the thing in the face he received a nasty jolt of electricity, the thing stirring to life and trashing madly.

“Cheeky ay…” He chuckled, rubbing his hand in the sand in attempt to return feeling to it. The numbness ebbing away he tried to scoop it in the sand, finding the ground made it less painful to handle. Quickly grabbing the thing by the tail, he gently dropped it into the urn’s sideways hole, the little fish swimming into the water gleefully. Scavenging the cloth, he could from the apparent trainer for repairs and other use, he took a few bones for playthings and tools and continued along the vast expanse. The fish poked its head out, becoming less nervous as the day wore on, and by night almost always peered out of the urn, gazing at the human fearlessly. Unlike the stoic friendship of the Nincada the fish coddled and nuzzled Atlas with the uncanny behavior of a dog, which broke through his demeanor within hours. With an outlet of affection, He found himself wishing less and less that he’d ended up in a city and looked upon the dunes with newfound loyalty along with his new partner.

Atlas rarely had need to battle with his Pokémon. Most of the time it was simply to attack Cacturns, which were useful for their watery insides. Horrific to some his instincts grew to understanding of survival alone, and he forgot the few moral boundaries that his traders had kept. Yet he grew bonded to his Pokémon, caring for them as family and they likewise growing as his equals. Eventually as he turned 19, four years after he’d landed on the beach, he found the only civilization thus far – An abandoned Trade shack, lost to the desert winds and sands. Fate was smiling upon him finally, and he built a place for himself in the rugged lands

Now Atlas, having found his place in life decided to venture out from the desert, if only to wander. He has no intention to ever stray too far from this place – despite being a wanderer he has decided to call these lands home. However, Atlas does want to find something past his already decent fulfillment in life, and the limited population of Pokémon and variation in the desert means that he needs to venture past the mountains. Now exiting the mountain range to the lush forests of Kanto, Atlas is ready with his pokemon to find parts of him he lost to time and return to the dunes once he has a purpose. Whether his lack of a license or understanding of this new world gets in his way Atlas is prepared to enjoy life and forget his older days, and perhaps make a bigger family while he’s at it.

Name: Monty Rogers
Age: 24
Sex: Male
DOB: April 7th, 1993
Birthplace: Opelucid City, Unova
Height: 5' 11" (~180cm)
Weight: 194 lbs. (~87.99kg)
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Hazel
Body Type: Ectomorph
Voice Type: Tenor, with an antiquated accent. (Example: )

Starter Pokemon:
Magnemite (Genderless)
081.gif~c200

Personality: Monty is an exceptionally amicable person, swollen with charisma, kindness and a desire for fun. He has a deep fear and loathing of the ocean, identified as genuine Thalassophobia. By extension, he dislikes most Water type Pokemon, as well.

He is slow to truly anger when it comes to people, yet he can get quickly frustrated when it comes to inanimate objects, if they fail to work properly. If he becomes angry at a person, he will not show it outwardly, preferring to fall back on passive aggressive behaviors.

Biography: Monty was born to the Rogers family in antiquated Opelucid City. Their general lack of reliance on advanced technology meant that Monty was raised to do things the old fashioned way, and to value tradition above all else. From a young age, he was taught how to play music, in order to bring in extra money for his family. His musical talents, over the course of a decade, have gone into the violin, the flute, and singing. At around the time of his 12th birthday, his parents made the decision to leave Unova entirely due to the sudden surge of extremists calling themselves Team Rocket becoming more prominent in their city of Opelucid. They boarded a vessel headed to Kanto, believing it to be free of Rocket's presence, to give an idea of how uninformed they were.

About midway through the trip, their ship was assaulted by a roving band of Sharpedo amidst a feeding frenzy. Their sheer force and speed rocked the ship, and Monty witnessed several people and pokemon fall in and be devoured brutally. It was the most terrifying day of his life, and he was fortunate to survive the ordeal, after the crew managed to fend off the Sharpedo. Monty would not leave his cabin for the rest of the trip, trembling in fear. This lead to his father bestowing upon him his first ever Pokemon, a Magnemite which had floated into Opelucid a long time ago. Monty was told if the predatory Pokemon returned, Electric type attacks could repel them swiftly. The Magnemite had already been broken in by Monty's father, and so when it began to accompany Monty himself, it was only a matter of time before the Pokemon became rather neutral to Monty's own presence. Its nightly use of Metal Sound comforted Monty, for he could not hear the ocean over the metallic ringing.

The day Monty got off the boat in Vermillion City was by far the best moment in his life. Though his parents grew short in temper, as their attempts to get Monty away from crime in Unova merely lead to being exposed to The much larger branch of Team Rocket in Kanto. In a matter of weeks, the family had relocated to Pallet Town, a small little hamlet away from all the Organized Crime. In the quiet town, Monty practiced his Bardship further, though his attempts to get Magnemite to join in his melodies never did quite work. His parent's wealth began to dramatically drop as they purchased their home, and were subject to more bills and tax than they ever were in antiquated Opelucid. They only barely saved themselves from bankruptcy by finding jobs as laborers.

Upon becoming an adult and finishing being homeschooled, Monty was released into the world and only told to come back for visits. As an immigrant from Unova, he found it quite unusual that he was able to take and pass the test to obtain his Trainer License, thinking a culture barrier would prevent him from integrating. Though, he has not done much with his status as a trainer, preferring to play music for profit in Pallet Town, while on the rare occasion making passage to Viridian City to do the same. He hopes that one day he could accompany somebody of great potential and ambition; one to write songs of and become a musical sensation across the world.
