hi there! My name is Fox, and I've decided to reopen my search thread. Had quite a tough few months thanks to the state of the world, but I'm getting back on my feet and diving back into what I love the most. While I still have an insane passion for all things mermaid and pirate related, I do have some other fun plots I'm itching to give a go. Below I'll list my plots, expectations, and rules. (Yes, rules! Not insane, I promise.)
just a little about me! I use she/her pronouns, and I'm over the age of 18. I'm a psych major, and I can honestly say I adore Monster High dolls. (If you also like Monster High, be my friend?) I also love crafting and taking care of pets, so ask me about that!

β’ First thing first! I have a very loose OOC writing style, and I won't lie, I don't really pay attention for spelling errors when it comes to simple back and forth talk. (Thank you, very long nails on a phone.) However, when I'm typing a reply on my laptop, I proofread everything and run it through a spell-checker to hopefully catch any mistakes.
β’ I'd like to state again that I am above the age of 18. I apologize to minors, but I do feel most comfortable RPing with someone who is also 18 or above. I have nothing against younger writers, but I enjoy romance in my stories and I don't think it's appropriate to craft such a tale with someone younger than me. Thank you for understanding!
β’ That being said...I would also like to RP with someone who is preferably below the age of 25. Once again, this is for my own comfort, and I hope everyone understands.
β’ I write a lot. My posts are now averaging 1.2k+, with starters going even higher. Understand that I will be asking for a similar length in return! Mainly looking for 800+ words per post at the moment.
β’ I am personally going to aim to try and post once a week now. I haven't been the best in the past at this, but I'm now setting up calendars to remind myself. That being said...I'm also insanely patient and can wait weeks to months for a post if needed. If you're able to match my post speed, that's great! If not, perfectly fine too.
β’ I'm painfully bad at PMs, so please feel free to kick me over and over like a dead horse. Trust me, it helps me remember to reply. I also have a Discord I can pass out for OOC chatter and plotting, if that's what you like.
Just some rules and expectations I have for partners!
β’ This is a safe and inclusive place. I do not accept the fetishization of any sexuality or race when it comes to my RPs. I do not accept terms such as 'uke/seme' to appear in any of my RPs, nor do I refer to any LGBTQ+ characters as 'tops' or 'bottoms.' Similarly, I do not want to see the infantilization of any race, nor fetishization. Appreciation is always welcome, but please be mindful.
β’[T.W.] While I am certainly not against heavy themes in my RPs, and I often have them included, there are a few things that I simply do not want to see as the 'main' attraction. I will not RP out abusive relationships, though they may be mentioned as backstory. Same things goes for inc/st, r/pe, and st/lker-like plots. I don't want them to be glorified, so I will not focus on them as the main plot of an RP.
β’ I play both genders, and all pairings. I also like to double, just in general. (More characters, more fun!) However, please don't come to me specifically because you need one pairing done and you'll throw something else in for the double. Come to me because you think I'm cool and have cool plots! (Just to note, please be able to also play both genders. If the plot doesn't call for both genders, that's fine, but at least have it in your wheelhouse.)
β’ Again, I'm looking for 800+ per post. Please don't contact me if you can't reach this length or you're struggling each time to come up with that many words. It won't be fun for either of us, and the entire point of RPing is to have said fun! The longer the posts, the better!
β’ Please include a writing sample when you contact me. If you're interested in my writing, feel free to stalk my profile and RPs!
Below will be some plots I have listed and ready! If you don't see anything you like but feel you have a plot I'd enjoy, feel free to hit me up with it! Rarely do I have a role that I wish to claim, but if I do happen to have one, I will bold it in the plot. Most of the time, however, I let my partner chose. Also, some of the plots are gendered because I wrote them a while ago and I'm a very lazy person who didn't want to rewrite them. Again, majority of the time, gender does not matter.
β΄Oceans as Red as Blood [Based on to 'To Kill a Kingdom']
The seas no longer belong to the men who used to rule the waves with wooden vessels. For whatever reasons fifteen years ago, they showed up. Beautiful and alluring, these creatures of the sea peeked up from the waves with lovely voices and suggestive gazes. But when their lips parted and the songs began, so did the slaughter. Entire fleets were wiped out by these half human, half fish women, and trading was nearly destroyed. No one was safe from these creatures, dubbed 'sirens.' They stole the hearts quite literally from the chests of their victims, and never stuck around long enough for capture.
But mankind doesn't fall so easily. Hunters began to arise, and take out the nasty creatures. Turning to foam once they were killed, soon ships of grizzled hunters were sent out to spear these beastly women. One ship in particular excelled at hunting, their captain known for being the prince of a neighboring kingdom. He ditched a life of gold and pleasure for salt and brine. He had one goal, and that was to kill every single sea-bitch there was.
Yet when he finds a woman floating in the water one quiet night, his entire life is flipped. Animalistic and nasty, the woman offers one thing to the captain. If he delivers her to land, she'll teach him the secret to killing the Queen of Sirens. With her dead, the creatures would have no leader. No motivation to keep killing. He has no reason to trust the woman, but something about her is familiar. She reeks of the sea and blood, and the necklace around her neck is known to be only worn by sirens. Will a shaky alliance form, or will the two find themselves at each other's throats?
Both want the Queen dead, but their reasons couldn't be more different.
β΄ Preposterous! [A Victorian-Age plot inspired by Dirty Dancing.]
When Muse A is to return to her childhood home, now owned by her uncle, she already expects the worst. Stuffy marriage lessons, rude men, and not enough food to go around. Her father ruined the fortune they held, and they now look to marry off Muse A to a hopefully rich man in hopes of regaining some fortune. The only issue seems to be the fact that no one wants to marry the poor girl. She speaks out of line too often, and tends to avoid her lessons like the plague. Her uncle hopes to fix such a thing with harsher lessons, especially in the dancing department.
Muse B has worked at the same manor for years. He often finds himself instructing women who come through as their dance teacher, before heading back out to work in the stables. In his free time, he attends 'dirty' dancing parties, and teaches formal dance classes to young schoolgirls at a local ministry. Soon enough, his life is turned upside down when he receives a challenge. He has to teach Muse A, who is the absolute worst at dancing. In fact, she's possibly the worst dancer he's ever seen. When a series of mishaps causes Muse A to be his only partner choice for upcoming masquerade competition, the two attempt to work together to make sure she can actually step on the floor, and not his feet.
β΄Poison! [Inspired by 'Poison,' by Bridget Zinn]
Muse A has just received some awful news. They're supposed to kill the next Queen before her coronation, and not get caught whilst doing so. They also don't know why they need to do such a thing, but are warned of grave consequences if they fail. Unfortunately for Muse A, there are several issues. Not only is the princess their former best friend, Muse A is a terrible aim and now apparently poison darts are the only way to go. (Thank you, mysterious Seer with has decided to be as vague as possible.) Despite being the best potion master in the kingdom, nothing can prevent them from missing the princess and barely escaping with their life. Now on the run as a fugitive, Muse A must somehow evade the kingdom's army while circling back to still kill the Princess before she's crowned Queen and something terribly awful happens.
Fortunately for Muse A, they just so happen to run into Muse B while hiding in the trees from a particularly nasty guard hot on their trails. Muse B is also on the run, though they won't say what for, and neither will Muse A. Together, both decide to help each other return to the kingdom and finish what they need to do.. Unfortunately for them, the trip back is filled with goblins and trolls, witches and warlocks, and a lot of talking animals that just won't shut up. There's also the issue of Muse A being a wanted criminal, but surely that's not too much of an issue.
Right?
β΄Reformatory
In a world where people have extraordinary powers, it's no surprise that some people go down the wrong path in life. There's nothing the people love more than a good take-down of a villain by a superhero, while their sidekicks duke it out. When the dust settles and the big bad guy is behind bars, what happens to the little sidekick they were dragging around?
Well, they go to school of course.
Villainous sidekicks who are caught are sent to the Steelheart Academy of Reformed Villains and Rising Heroes, where they're forced to learn the ways of good so they can once again join society. Joined by fellow students who hope to become the sidekicks of famous heroes, it's no surprise that not everything is so pretty down at Steelheart. Especially when the villains constantly have their powers nulled. Nothing makes a good target like a downed villain.
When Muse A is captured in a battle against one of the best heroes in the world, they would rather die than be sent to Steelheart. Those who make it out are completely different, and Muse A doesn't want to stick around to find out how. Planning their escape from day one, they become rather infamous at the academy for causing trouble on their planned way out.
Muse B, on the other hand, is a rising hero of their own accord. Trained since the moment they could walk to fight injustice, they're the top of their class for a good reason. The only thing they can't understand is why their success has to be shared with villains. Muse A is a thorn in their side for a good reason, and soon Muse B is paired up with the trouble-making reform student to straighten them out. Certainly this can't go wrong, right?
β΄Obedient [Inspired by 'Ella Enchanted.]
Don't have much of a plot for this one, just love Ella Enchanted. Can def bounce some ideas around, but just wanted to throw this out!
β΄ Out of Time
I have nothing super concrete for this, but I've been vibing with the idea of a time traveler accidentally picking up a straggler from a party in the 80s, only to find out that a lot of people totally want that person dead. Suddenly, they've got to work together to find out why everyone wants the party go-er six feet under, while dealing with the fact that they're way out of their element in the future.
Webtoon Inspired Plots
Below I've listed a few WEBTOONs that I would love to explore the world of. Each one is listed with credit to the author/illustrator. I'm mainly looking for loose retellings of the stories, or just existing in the world! Deviations are always welcomed when it comes to these sorts of plots.
β΄ House of Stars by Saltacuentos/Lion Illustration
"An adventurer finds themselves on a quest to find the missing girls of their small town, as they seem to be the only one who can remember them. The adventurer finds themselves in a strange world where stories come to life, and must face the tasks that the Queen sets out for them. Along the way, they're aided by the unwilling knight of the Queen, who seems to know more than they're willing to let on."
β΄Suitor Armor by Purpah
"In a world where fairies and humans are at constant war, a young fairy must conceal themselves among the royal human family to survive. Their identity is only known by the King, and they must constantly bind their wings to avoid detection. Yet when a new mage comes to visit the castle with a promise to defeat the fairies, the hidden fairy finds themselves pulled into their world and their deadly creation. An animated suit of armor with a hidden face and little to say is revealed as the secret weapon. They only have one goal in life: Kill fairies. Yet when they're tasked to become a guard for the hidden fairy of the castle thanks to a close encounter with a rogue assassin, things become a bit more complicated. Especially when the armor begins to feel emotions like used it too."
