Fantasy Pocket-Sized

Zamice

No.
There lives another world.

One with two species of humans; there's Giants and there's Tinies.

Both species are indeed human, but the way they address themselves comes down to perspective. Giants call themselves humans and the other species "Tinies." and vice versa for the other species.

Giants are the same size as the humans in our world, while tinies are only 1-10 inches tall.

Some giants and tinies work and live together.

Some giants and tinies have never even seen the other species before.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_07/comm__nathan_s_new_babysitter___by_michat2-d96df48.png.jpeg.286ee44c3c1bded2990c2c4d551bdff0.jpeg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="141482" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_07/comm__nathan_s_new_babysitter___by_michat2-d96df48.png.jpeg.286ee44c3c1bded2990c2c4d551bdff0.jpeg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Roy sat on top of an old book, 'Harry Potter' written in golden lettering on the cover, as he rummaged through his backpack for the lunch he had packed. Smiling as he found it, he pulled a cyan and white checkered plastic container out of the bag and set it on his lap. He eagerly tore off the lid and the smell of fried rice and egg found its way to his nostrils.

He unclipped the black pair of chopsticks from a small compartment on the inside of the lid and began to have his lunch, satisfying his grumbling stomach.

Yuuki started making his was to the small library near the center of their village. He was a little late having overslept but no one came this early so he thought he would be fine. He walked up to the small building and produced a small set of keys from his pocket quickly unlocking to the door.

He opened it the smell of books old and new hitting him. He could never get tired of that smell even if he wanted to, though he never would. He put his keys back in his pocket for fear that he might loose them again and took the ponytail holder off his wrist examining it for a moment before putting his hair up. He walked over to the desk and started putting back books people had returned that he didn't have the chance to do yesterday.

He quickly finished putting the books away luckily only falling a few times, though none of the books were injured in the fall, although he didn't have a pretty bruised knee. "It would be easier if they didn't make the shelves so high up." Yuuki said looking around to see if anyone had yet entered the library.

'Suki'

Suki was wandering around casually, her hair flowing freely behind her and being blown by a small breeze coming into the area, a smile settling on her face as a giggle escaped her mouth, skipping towards the library with her book in the satchel that was gently thumping against her side with each foots touchdown onto the ground.

She soon arrived and peeked her head in through the door with one eyebrow raised curiously, only having nudged the door open a little and looked somewhat like a meerkat observing her surroundings, after feeling confident that she wasn't doing any breaking and entering of the building, -Something that had happened to her out of absentmindedness more than once or twice- she went inside. "Yuuki?~…." she called out timidly, hands going to the clip on her satchel which she began fiddling with, it was nothing more than a piece of string and a small button sewn on but it still took quite a bit of effort to get off without looking, a task she was currently attempting and failing to the point of falling over onto her face, she slowly got up, rubbing the now pink area from the fall and sighing, "Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch…." she muttered quietly in an embarrassed manner and her face turning even pinker from it.

After finishing the meal, Ryo laid back on the book, gazing at the roof that seemed to be too far away to even be possible.

He stayed there for a few minutes before realising the time, the library was opening! Placing the empty container back in his bag and hauling it over his shoulders, Ryo began sprinting towards the village he now lived in. Not only was this village bigger then where he lived as a kid, by his standards anyway, the people who lived there were also considerably nicer.

Reaching the small building, Ryo took a moment to catch his breath before entering. Upon doing so, he immediately heard a loud thump as Suki hit the ground. Pursing his lips to avoid laughing, Ryo stayed silently out of sight to avoid making Suki anymore embarrassed then she already was.

Yuuki saw a few books, a lot of books had been put into the wrong category. He quickly got up and started putting them where they belonged, a few minutes later he heard the small chime of the bell when someone opened the door. He heard some one calling his name and almost immediatly recognized it as Suki. He walked over to her his books still in his hands when she fell, most likely from not paying attention to where she was going. "Are you okay?" He asked helping her up, he saw another customer enter and waved to him before turning his attention back to Suki to see if she had really hurt herself.

Suki stood up slowly, nodding to the familiar voice of Yuuki, "Y-Yeah~…. Fine. I think…." she mumbled awkwardly a small, shy giggle let out from her mouth as she rubbed the back of her head in an embarrassed fashion, "I just- tripped." she continued with a small shrug before suddenly remembering the book and quickly pulling it out of her satchel, handing it to the boy in front of her, "Here, I came to return this~ It helped a lot just like you said, the section on Strongylodon macrobotrys was fascinating!~" she said in a playful manner, her face still slightly pink from the impact of the fall.

"Okay I'm glad." He said taking the book from her hands and adding it to the pile in his. He walked over to a few shelves in the library and started placing the books back in their proper place. "Did you come here to check out another book, or do you want to just hang around for a while?" He asked referring to both of the people in the library although he didn't looking back he was trying to reach one of the higher shelves.

Suki thought for a moment before shrugging, "Both? I guess~…." she mumbled timidly, clasping her hands together behind her back as she began happily strolling around the library, smirking a little in a child-like manner as she looked at this and that, pulling out a few books here and there but always putting them back in there correct place knowing how much trouble Yuuki went to trying to keep this place all organised- and stuff. Her eyes eventually fell on a fantasy book titled, 'The Secret Garden' her smirk softly settling into a gentle smile, "I remember this one~…." she said softly to no one in particular as her fingers lightly brushed the cover in what was somewhat like a stroke of sort, her eyes seeming to be fixated on the piece.

"Great! I could use the company!" Yuuki said as he finished placing the books down and went to the back where there was a bit of storage supplies. He came he came back out with a ladder in his hands for the really high shelves that almost reached the ceiling. "You know it'd be a lot easier if the made the shelves a little lower so that we didn't have to use ladders." He said to no one in particular as he placed the ladder carefully up against one of the shelves for when he would need it.

Roy watched Suki disappear behind a shelf before looking for a book for himself. As a writer, he liked to read other books to expand his writing knowledge although he still doubted his books were anywhere near good enough to submit to Yuuki for her library.

(Yes, I know Yuuki is male but you said people often mistake his gender so Ryo thinks Yuuki is female >:3)

Yuuki grabbed a few books and started climbing the ladder to put the books back on the higher shelves. "You guys can check out any books you like, there's even a box or two of new books. Personally I think they're all really good to read." Yuuki said putting the last book in his hands back on the shelf as he started descending down the ladder.

"Okay, thanks." Roy replied, examining the shelves of books, some old, some new. After searching for a good few minutes, Roy finally found a book that interested him. "Traversing The Giants' Landscape, volume three." He read aloud to himself. Roy had never seen this book before, nor volume one or two. He glanced up at Yuuki, who was placing books shelves while balancing on a ladder, and decided that he would ask her later. She was a very busy librarian after all.

Yuuki climbed down the ladder and this time he didn't fall, thank goodness that would be embarrassing. He looked over to Roy and saw him looking at the book Traversing the Giants landscape. He skipped over to him and chuckled "have you read volume one or two yet? I can go get them if you'd like." He said a smile on his face glad he wasn't the only one who seemed intrigued by that book.

Roy had gone back to looking at the book so he didn't see Yuuki coming, or hear her for that matter, so when she seemingly appeared out of thin air beside him, Roy jumped a little but tried to not make it super obvious.

"Would you be able to?" Roy replied, answering a question with a question. "I haven't seen them around before."

Yuuki giggled a bit noticing Roy jump back. "Yeah it'll be no problem. And you probably haven't seen them because most people put them in the wrong section, although I remember moving them back yesterday so then should be there." He said as he started walking off towards the back of the library where the two books were. He came back a few minutes later carrying Traversing the Giants Landscape volume one and two. "here you go, Traversing the Giants Landscape volume one and two." He said turning his head sideways w little so he could read the title.

Roy examined the book covers and sure enough, "Traversing the Giants' Landscape" was written on both, with "Volume I" and "Volume II" written on them, respectively.

"Okay, thanks." Roy said, smiling slightly. "They look pretty interesting. If you don't mind, I'd like to take them out, all three if that's okay."

"Yeah sure!" Yuuki said as he walked over to the front desk and wrote something down. "I think you'll really like them, they're each very interesting." He said walking back over to Roy holding three bookmarks. "Would you like them?" He asked holding them out to him.

"Yes, thank you." Roy said, taking the bookmarks off Yuuki's hands. "I feel like you're doing a lot for me, but I have noting to give in return. Well, uh, if you ever need any help, I'd be happy too. It's the least I can do."

Afterwards, Roy takes a look around the library, smiling to himself as he finds a comfortable looking chair. Settling into it, Roy places the first volume on his lap, looking through the pages.

"Why thank you, and you don't have to give me anything in return I like helping people." Yuuki said as he went back to placing the books on the right bookshelves quietly humming to himself. He finished earlier than usual finding it much easier today 'maybe I'm in a better mood than usual?' He thought going behind his desk and reading a book himself.

August!

August entered her room, her red eyes gleaming optimism. She had a large smile on her face as she jumped backwards onto her bed and started to kick her feet in the air. She had found the perfect song to play for her birthday that was only a little bit away. For anyone else that wouldn't be at all something to get worked up about but she had been thinking it over for eight months, six weeks, twenty hours, forty minutes and thirty two seconds. To her it was difficult to do since there were so many different songs to choose from and her mood changed so not all songs would fit the way she was feeling.

But while searching she found 'the one', it was amazing! She loved it! So she had decided that it was the song she wanted to play. Now all that was left for her to do was plan out her birthday in secret. She took out a bunch of writing supplies, seven pieces of paper and whiteout. She hummed as she started to draw out her birthday bash with enthusiasm.

@ Anyone

Lilith~

Lilith whistled as she sorted through the mail she had. It was mostly job offers but some messages were from relatives and friends. It was also her job to check if there was anything shady in their letters that should be reported which gave her a chance to be nosy. After finishing with her examining she put everything away and flew off to start her deliverers.

After reading a section of the first volume, Roy slid one of the bookmarks, a lime and yellow checkered one, that Yuuki had given him into the page to note it for later. Carefully lining the three books up in his bag, he opened the library door. "Bye Yuuki and Suki, try not to fall over again - either of you!" He called, loud enough to be heard but not too loud, over his shoulder as he closed the door and took a light job out of the village.

After walking for a while, Roy reached one of his favourite spots; on top of the bookshelf in the giantess' room. Sometimes she was in here, sometimes not. Peering over the edge and seeing the girl on her bed, using her 'phone', Roy decided he probably wouldn't be able to read with her around. Instead, he sat down on the wooden surface with his legs over the edge.

( @Darkri you should join in )

August!

"It's....Perfect!" she yelled while the loud voice of her brother could be heard telling her to shut up. She just laughed it off "Same to you! This things got ninjas, pirates, shinigamis, fake wars, avatars! Tons more too! This is so amazing!" she stood up and started to make strange gestures. The gestures in question were suppose to be various moves from a show " Rasengan! Maka chop!" she hit her bookshelf in her excitement. "Huh? Oh sugar honey ice tea!" books started to fall on her and soon she was buried under all of her books.

She laid there for a few moments before a groan of pain could be heard
"Owww...They said books wouldn't hurt anybody..." she grumbled but didn't get up from under the many books and just laid there without much movement or sound except her breathing.

@Zamice

Roy winced at the yelling and was about to leave when the giantess began to make weird hand movements as she danced around the room. One of them collided with the bookshelf, toppling it slightly.

Although the bookshelf itself didn't fall, the books on its shelves and the tiny boy sitting on top did fall. As he fell, Roy was relived that his pack, with the three library books, remained on top of the bookshelf - safe from harm.

As he plummeted towards the ground, he heard the girl call out the abbreviation for some colourful language as the books fell upon her, too, before everything went black.

---

When Roy finally came around, he noticed 2 things.

1) The surroundings were very dark and

2) The ground was very warm.

As his eyes adjusted to the dim-lighting, he realised it was dark because of the mountain of books covering him, and that it was warm because he was laid across the giantess' shoulder! His face went bright red as he realised that the girl was probably still conscious and therefore, would find him with ease.

"Bye Roy!" Yuuki called as he glanced up from his book waving to Zoey as he left. 'I hope he enjoys his book.' He thought as he continued reading the chronicles of Narnia book 1. He had already read it before but he wanted to re - read it so he could continue on with the rest of the books and not forget anything.
