- The Die Is Cast
Start
These are the words you hear echo in your mind as you step into a velvet blue train. Unlike the last velvet room, this one seems much worse for the wear. The windows were cracked and some looked shot up and everywhere you looked were thready webs like hair that couldn’t be brushed off. Luckily enough the true spiderwebs seemed to only be at the corners of the train car. The train was obviously moving as the bricks past the windows became a blurry mess.
Taking another step forwards two beings appear in a burst of light. Neither of which you had previously met before. A smaller male child whose face was mostly covered up by the soft blue hoodie or the multitude of bandages and a woman with black hair and clothes who sat with her hands folded and her eyes closed.
With that, the room melts away before your eyes.
Seven weeks. It’s been a short seven weeks since your world turned upside down. People always dream of their second chance to redo their mistakes. That wasn’t something you had ever thought might be a possibility before seeing it happen before your eyes. Your hometown was back, and most would say relatively untouched. Seven weeks ago the end happened, and then with a single vision of blue was undone.
It took one day to notice it wasn’t a dream. It took one week to notice that only you remembered the ruin that had taken place that winter. It took three weeks for you to realize plenty of people outside your town had hazy memories of the chaos. And it took only four weeks for you to be conscripted by the Kirijo group.
Persona? Contracts?
Whether you believed them or not you couldn’t refute their proof without questioning your own sanity as well. The two options were laid out very clearly, either you believed them and went along with what they said or they would twist your arm and make you.
“If it's for a brighter future”
And you’d seen the future that laid in wait now didn’t you?
Five weeks and you had made your decision. Training started now. If you were to fight shadows there had to be no question you could stand on your own two feet.
Seven weeks and you were shipped out.
“Now arriving at Kamakura Station”
A butterfly passes your path once again as the din of the train abruptly stops.
Only this time you’re not alone.
- The Velvet Room
Velvet Room:
A place between the subconscious and conscious, as well as between the “real world” and the “shadow world”. It exists as many things depending on it's guest's needs. This room holds all that is and will be in its reach. Despite their best attempts Killian is still unable to describe this place in its entirety, only brushing it off when asked as “The point where all began”. When entered time will not move on the outside though the moment one attempts to sleep in this room they are forcibly returned to the waking world. Only those who have made a contract with a higher being can enter this plane of existence. Though the costs may be great, the rewards are numerous. In this journey the room has been worn down as it bears the brunt of the reset creating its hostile environment.
Velvet Room Master:
The current owner of the velvet room. The one that presides over all time. The master is in charge of the natural progression of time and weaver of the contract. While all of the possibilities lie before them they themselves cannot predict which path a guest will take, only try to guide them through their journey. Though before the reset this position was held by Igor due to the contractual restart Alma has now taken over as the Master. Previous to Igor holding this position the position was held by Philemon. The velvet room master must always have been a denison of the Velvet room first.
Velvet Room Attendants:
The guide of the wildcard(s), and keeper of the records of life and death. They hold the power to help others strengthen their psyche, allowing for them to better harness the power of their persona. They are also the guide to the shadow world, without their presence wildcards would simply succumb to their repressed fears and desires becoming one with the shadows. This journey has an excess and lack of wildcard users all at once. Though you all once held this potential Killian has informed you that because of the special contract formed between the current and previous master this potential has been locked in exchange for a second chance. Though Killian himself admits to not being a denizen of the Velvet room he has gained the power to be a replacement attendant for your journey.
The Lost Fools
Lost Fools:
Those who have entered a contract cannot leave so easily. Perhaps you turned right when you should have turned left and missed your guiding light. Perhaps you started your journey only to fail at a crucial stage. Perhaps you refused the call until it dragged you down into its depths. Either way fate will refuse to bend. You watched as your world slowly turned upside by the chaos the god brought down. You were given the power to stop this. But you failed.
The Reset:
Unlike most journeys that are permanently ended by the contractee failing to uphold their contract yours ended in what Alma and Killian call The Reset. All the calamity that happened due to your failure has been undone by The Reset. However this didn’t rewind time or do anything that seemed to physically make sense to you. Instead the consequences have all been reverted only for those directly affected by your contract. Homes were rebuilt, lives were returned, memories were changed. Yet for the wider world nothing had changed, they had hazy memories of the truth. Of a town burned to the ground, of a girl who lost her life, of children going missing in the night. Fate’s little reminders that you weren’t freed yet.
The Contract:
The contract is what allows the power of the wildcard to be given. The contract does not need to be a physical thing, promises, self-oaths, words of agreement also qualify. Any form of permission is enough for these beings to tie you into their games for control. The contract essentially paints a giant target on your back, even though they give you the tools needed for success it can hardly be called a fair contract. Without the aid of another there would be no amount of resets that would change the flow of fate enough to divert from the calamities. After all those who do not learn from history are only doomed to repeat it.
Real Ground Vs Shadow Realm
Real Ground [RG]:
The waking human world is but our part in this universe. Though the world occasionally creates pockets into the Shadow World the two are never meant to touch. Humans live in peaceful ignorance of their power as they cycle through their lives on this side of the universe. Calamity is always just a single step away but the world never stops. Unlike most wildcard journeys that take place in the Shadow World this time the threat is spilling into the RG.
Shadow World:
The Shadow World much like the Velvet Room changes heavily depending on the viewer. Generally this world cannot be withstood by humans. All those who enter risk becoming one with their shadow as the shadow takes them over from within. Persona users lost to their shadow have the potential to become extremely strong malevolent threats. It’s through the contract and guidance of an attendant that Persona users are able to complete their journeys into this world without being completely taken over. There exists two types of shadows in this realm, Mirrors and Amalgamations. Mirror as the personal shadow created from the repression of self while Amalgamations are created from the subjugation by societal pressures. Each and every soul has a Mirror and contributed to the Amalgamations. Several persona users that have completed their own journey have taken to studying the Shadow World’s origins.
The Kirijo Group
The Kirijo Group:
The Kirijo Group (桐条グループ) is a globally operating multinational trading company that appears in the Persona series. It is said to be involved with almost every aspect of daily life and finding someone that doesn't know the Kirijo Group is virtually impossible.
The Kirijo Group did a number of experiments dealing with Shadows, which eventually causes a huge explosion which in turn leads to the creation of Calamity of the Dark Hour. A newer school was built on top of this site. The Kirijo Group maintains control over the school, and a statue bearing their motto is located in the lobby of the school.
Despite this the Kirijo group continued their research involving Shadows. They created Evokers to aid with the summoning of a Persona, and they created a series of Anti-Shadow Weapons. Which would lead later into another near Calamity.
In order to better understand the Dark Hour, the Kirijo Group rounded up kids on the streets and gave them special powers in order to investigate Tartarus. However, they had to take experimental medication so that their powers wouldn't kill them; only three survived out of the original hundred.
Despite their shady pasts the company has been considered mostly turned around since the heiress, Mitsuru, took over the company nearly a decade prior. However the company has been steadily declining from the monopoly it once was. Instead the rivaling competitors the Nanjo Group and the Okimura Foods company took some of their previous clout as the Kirijo group scaled down operations on the front end. However on the back end things were only just beginning as Mitsuru would start her first chapter of Shadow Response Unit.
Shadow Response Unit [SRU]:
An unofficial section of the police backed by the Kirijo Group, the purpose of the Shadow Operatives is to hunt Shadows and deal with Persona related activity. In addition to their standard members, Reserve Members may be called upon for support, though they are not usually called upon unless an incident of grave importance is happening. On Paper any and all operatives in the units are classified under Tokyo’s public security bureau 21st station, a division that does not exist as the 20th and 22nd expand their area past what traditionally is drawn up. All operatives must be capable of using persona, either naturally or through the use of an evoker.
Reserve Members:
Reserve members are persona users that have drawn the attention of the Shadow Response Unit either due to their strength or due to their fledgling nature. While the SRU does its best to round up any eligible candidates it can oftentimes unless they get to Persona users directly after their brush with a calamity they lose their chance to convince them into a new contract. Strong Persona users recognized by both Mitsuru and the SRU to be deemed minimal or no threat to the public are allowed to continue on with their daily lives uninterrupted except in cases of great importance. Those who are deemed a threat are either taken care of on the spot or roped into contracts and tailed by competent agents until they are dead or no longer deemed a threat to the public. Each and every PC is considered a Reserve Member of the SRU, which does come with a stipend depending on how agreeable you are to relocating.

- The Rules
1. This is a private rp I'm not looking to add anyone I haven't rped with before and/or that I believe wouldn't mess well with the established group. I wouldn't say it's closed but I also wouldn't say it's open.
2. General Courtesy which I don't need to worry about since it's a private RP. Ya'll know how I roll.
This is already more rules than I planned I put this mainly so people who are looking know ahead of time that this is a private pet project for me and my pals.
