Camp Half Blood
Another year passed at Camp Half Blood. Finally, everything was slowly coming back to order. As the sun basked down on the camp, you could clearly see the dryads happily chasing each other through the trees without a care in the world.

Most campers strolled around leisurely as the year had just started and they had just arrived for their summer vacation. While some of the year-round campers were decked out in their full battle armor, sparring in the arena from the crack of dawn. The sounds of swords clashing against metal with each parry and block rung out into the strawberry fields and across camp.

This year will mark 2 years without a monster breaching the camp borders. 2 years without a major incident (other than that one time where some of the Hermes kids set their cabin on fire...).

Although... as you look around camp... you'll notice that compared to the previous years, there seems to be a lack of campers. Are they choosing not to come back to camp...? Can they not travel without the risk of harm...?

It's up to us to find out.

Annabels day had been boring, sitting around in her lonely house. The building was black and somewhat gothic all over. Annabel sat in the main room which was big and gave off a dark aura. It had a big fireplace with intricate black carvings around the purple flames. Two red chairs sat facing the fire with a table between them and bother were on a big animal rug of some beast. A chandelier made out of monster bones hung above her and painting and murals of her father and stories of things that had happened hung on the walls as she sat in the left chair that faced the fire reading a book in silence. Sighing softly as she closed the book she was reading and set it on the table between the chairs she stood up and stretched her arms out with a groan before she looked around. The Thanatos house was completely empty but her mostly because she was the only known child of Thanatos which sucked. She hated being alone like this and wished she had someone to relate to in some way, but hey she couldn't have wverything she wanted.

Sighing softly she decided to go change into something more appropriate before going out. Heading to her room and changing into a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a white bagy shirt that hung off one shoulder as well as some big black boots. Once she was done she headed out of the Thanatos house and looked around with a bored look, mostly because she had no one to truly talk to.

Alex had his cap on backwards with the bill covering the back of his neck as he slowly took inventory of the arenas armory. It was a mundane but essential task. So far he counted 625 shields, 650 swords, 700 spears, 2,000 arrows, 1,000 knives and 517 miscellaneous weapons. All in good condition. When he reached the end of the weapons rack he let his arms hang limp with the clipboard in his left hand. He was completely loathing this day. It was unnervingly calm. The sun shined brilliantly, there was a calm breeze and there was absolutely nothing happening.

Usually there were 10x as many campers pouring in at the beginning of Summer, and he would be giving briefings to the new arrivals, but only a hand full had come in this morning and he had finished with them by lunch. Now he has resorting to counting in order to keep from going stir crazy. It wasn't helping. Maybe he could assemble a small party to head off into the woods and kill something? Would Chiron allow that? Not likely. He looked up at the rows of gleaming armor that still needed to be inventoried. He let the clipboard fall to the ground. It was time for a break. He turned his ballcap around and exited the armory. He made a beeline for the dining pavilion, hoping to find someone, anyone, that could help him get away from this mundane day.

Ani hummed a song as she did odd jobs in the medical cabin of the camp, sorting out instrument, medical herbs and books on healing. There weren't any patients today, the camp was quite, too quite for this time of year. No fight broken out between cambers, no injuries caused by training or a games of capture the flag or monster attack. It was pretty dull and Ani didnt like that, it left her lost in her own thoughts and she had many of them and keeping the medical cabin tidy barely helped. Singing did help a little but there was only so many song she knew.

Her mind went to the quietness of the camp and medical cabin and the possible reason for this. All dead? No unlikely... Monster got them... No unlikely no monster... Paguseses are so cute should see if charon will let me ride...What breed is charon horse part? Clydesdale? Belgian? Shire? Arabian... I wonder what coffee taste likes... I am thristy, may be go to the mess hall for nectar... Should pick out some more herbs from the gardens to fill up stores... Wonder if Aradia is back yet? Or was she already here? Did i annoy her again and she is avoiding me? Maybe i look good in blonde hair like her. She struck the side of her head." Stamata Ani!" She tried to stop herself shaking her head in frustration. She took a deep breath. "Need to get a drink?" She said to herself and told herself over and over so see remembered as she stepped out of the cabin and walked toward the mass hall.

It was official. Austin was going crazy with boredom. In all the years that she had been at camp half-blood, this year seemed to be the dreariest. Walking around the lonely cabin, Austin ran her fingers through her matted bright blue hair and chewed on her lip looking for something, anything, to do.
"I could try going to the stables and teaching the Pegasus some dirty language..." She'd mumble to no-one in particular and inch towards the cabin door, but hesitated wondering how angry Chiron would be and she wasn't quite ready to have her desert privileges taken away again. Shrugging off the idea of punishments, Austin opened her cabin room door and walked outside, shielding her eyes.
"Aaa! I'm burning alive!" She'd cry sarcastically and rub her eyes violently watching as little white dots danced around her vision.

Markus Weir
Markus wasn't in the mood for people. He had just gotten out of bed not even 10 minutes ago and he was already annoyed at the world. The darkness of the Hades cabin annoyed him. The fact that he didn't wake up earlier annoyed him. From his point of view, the earlier he wakes up, the more time he has to train without anyone bothering him, then after he finished his training he'd usually spend the rest of the day looking for spots in the border where he could sneak out of. He needed new ones because Chiron is slowly finding his usual ones. Damn horse...

After getting dressed in his usual style of clothing for the month (a black button-up and worn black jeans), he opened the cabin door only to get practically blinded by the sun. "Every fucking day!" He thought to himself as he blinked a few times to get used to the light. Eventually, as his eyes adjusted, he ventured away from his cabin for the day, hopefully no one would talk to him today. That'd be nice.

One might find it beyond strange if they saw a young lass sitting across from a remains of a dead horse, spell books that she conjured base on her personal knowledge sprawled all over the floor as she chanted words beyond the knowledge of normal mortals. This is why Aradia prefers waking up hours before the sun rises again and grace them with it's stinging and blasted rays. Such time is the best time for necromancy in the middle of the woods a few walks away from the camp. Every morning (except for the countless of times she overslept or was being lazy) she'd trudge deep into the woods to practice her black magic, whether it was necromancy or her hexes. Unfortunately for the young half-goddess, her time was up and the sun was already high up. She picked up all her books with a sigh and practically shoved them all inside her sling bag. The blonde wore her black hood on before she rushed towards the camp.

It took her less than an hour to arrive at the camp, campers and facilitators alike were already up and she was lucky that she wasn't noticed slipping in. Her morning ritual made her hungry so she decided to continue towards the hall. She must've done something to annoy lady luck because unfortunately she run into someone the very moment she entered. Due to the limited vision her hood was providing her, her face run straight into someone's back. She snarled, "Ugh! Dude, my nose!" she put a hand on her said nose, the impact of his back against her face left her nose feeling swollen. As if that wasn't enough, she accidentally wobbled back and stepped on someone's foot, she turned around and saw a familiar face, it was her fellow Cretan girl who has a special power of somehow annoying the light out of her.

Ani walked towards the mess hall, head full of thought that she wasn't really paying attention to where exactly she was walking guided only by instinct. During her walked she had worked out a new tricks with her fire abilities to add to dance she was choreographing in her head, a line lyrics to a new song and wondered what would happen if someone non godly did walk through this place.. a wondered what the world think about it. The precious two were project she did whenever she could spare a thought and we're months in the making.

Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt something step on her toes making her yelp comicallly. She needed a second or so to recover when she did she realised it was Aradia. If Ani was twitchy and scattered brain before now it was in an other level all together. "Oh... Sorry...Didn't see you... You OK? You look good. I mean despite the bleeding nose. Let me take a look."Without thinking she reached out to touched Aradia's nose. It was strange what effect Aradia had on her and couldn't figure out why, was it one of Aradia spell? A charm not unlike the effect the Aphrodite girls have one people?

When Austin had finally recovered from being blind from the sun, she looked around at the other cabins to see if any other campers were awaking late. Noticing a movement from the Hades Cabin, Austin glanced over to see Markus cursing out the sun and rubbing his eyes. Smirking, Austin walked over to the teen,
"Hey." She nodded in his direction and stood next to him. For the past year, Austin had tried to befriend the other Big Three child with not much luck.

Markus jumped a little when someone spoke out to him. Usually kids didn't even come near him let alone speak to him. Looking in the general direction where he heard the voice he frowned slightly to himself when he saw the Poseidon girl. Didn't she have anything better to do in the morning? "Uh... Hi" He said meekly to the girl, studying her closely with his ocean blue eyes. He didn't see the point in talking too loudly for her. He knew she heard him. And besides, he hardly spoke usually, so his voice wasn't all that loud anyway.

His hands automatically found their way to the hilts of his swords which where strapped to his waist. He knew she wouldn't attack him or anything like that. But he just felt better knowing that he was ready for anything.

Alex had just entered the dining pavilion when someone ran into the back of him. Like a stone wall, he didn't budge. But the person who ran into him bounced off. He heard her seem to accuse him of being the one to run into her, even though it was she who had run into him. This deeply annoyed him. He turned around to face her and her friend. "Perhaps, you should watch where you're going?" Alex suggested, condescendingly.

He noticed she had actually somehow hurt herself, so he eased up. "Are you O.K?" He asked plainly.

After about a minuet of waiting on her porch area she finally started walking again and headed for the food hall. Having heard her stomach grumble a couple while she was changing had now made her feel starved. "So hungry." She groaned softly as she walked along the paths till she got to the food court. Immediately noticing a little confrontation between one of the Aphrodite girls and another camper she just sat down at the "Thanatos" table and watched the confrontation curiously while her food magically came to her table. It was a plate of eggs bacon and some shredded hasbrowns with a cup of orange juice. Sighing a little she started to eat while watching the confrontation

Austin looked down at his hand on the hilt of his sword and her smirk grew ever so slightly. "Oh are you looking for a fight?" She'd ask, fingering two charms on her necklace, small hints of enthusiasm lighting in her eyes. Austin knew for a fact that she'd never win, since last time she tried Markus had beaten her pretty badly and she had been embarrassed the entire week after that. Since all she could figure out doing was talking to Pegasus and breathing underwater, she was sort of known as the "runt" of the Poseidon cabin.
"I mean, if you're even up for a fight that is."

Markus stared at the girl, her light blue hair reflecting the sun into his eyes, making him squint, although it probably looks more like a glare. Shrugging his shoulders he looked towards the arena where he knew the usual people would already be there training like usual. Markus knew that last time the pair fought, he won by a landslide. Markus also knew that after he kicked her ass she basically hid away in her cabin for a week after. And in return for that people left him alone more than before. And that was always a plus for him. So, he nodded and began walking towards the arena.

Markus finally noticed that the camp seemed quieter this year... Like the amount of campers had been cut in half. "What's up with that?" he asked himself before shaking his head. It's not like it mattered to him. He liked the quiet.

Austin flinched. She hadn't quite expected him to say yes. Really, she thought he would've given her an annoyed "no." Then push her away. "Alright, let's do this thing..." She nodded and walked over to the arena and tugged on her charm, her sword and Scythe appearing in each hand. She stared past his shoulder and noticed the Pegasus stables not so far away from the arena and smirked.
"Alight Hades-boy, let's see what you got"

Markus drew his swords when they got closer to the arena, the black sword edges glinting wickedly in the sunlight that was streaming through the roof. He sighed, already coming up with plans on what this Poseidon girl might come up with. "Don't try to drown me this time." He mumbled to her before spinning around to face her as they reached the middle of the arena.

Markus wasn't in the mood for a fight. He never was. But he thought "Why not, I've got nothing better to do." He smirked slightly as he studied her movements, taking note of the girls weapon choices. She's changed them..

Austin quickly brushes hair away from her face.
"Yup.. Why you jealous?" She grinned and got ready for a battle. But after a while she got tired of waiting for Markus to strike, and ran at him, slashing her sword a look of pure determination in her eyes. Once she had slashed with her sword, she counter attacked with her scythe aiming for his wrist. She waited for Markus to react to her attack and began planning her next move in her mind.

Markus blinked as Austin ran at him while seeming to wildly swing her sword at him. He raised an eyebrow coyly and sidestepped her before raising one of his swords to block her scythe. He rolled his eyes before stepping into her, raising his leg and delivering a swift kick to her stomach to knock her back, getting back the distance that he lost when she ran at him. Gods... He was going to have to put effort into this thing.

Austin gagged and groaned. I am not going to lose like last time. Her eyes seemed aflame with determination. Narrowing her eyes, she leaned back and stood there staring at Markus. Sure, she wasn't exactly a master at this like he was but she wasn't stupid. Austin wasn't going to to tire herself by repeatedly running and swinging at him. She'd make him come at her first.
"Huh, guess you're gonna actually put some effort in this eh?" Her stomach still stung slightly from him kicking her in the stomach, but if wasn't something she couldn't get over.

Markus almost cracked a smile at her comment, he shrugged it off and watched her. He knew that she knew that he knew that he thought the same thing. They both knew that they didn't want to waste energy running at each other, but he didn't want to wait around for her to attack again. Markus smirked slightly and slowly walked towards the girl, gripping the woven hilts of his swords tighter on his approach. He frowned slightly in concentration as the arena started getting darker, as if someone... was creating shadows over the building.

(This got suddenly intense lol)

Austin stared at him, her grip tightening on her weapons. "Shiiiiiiiiiiit..." She half mumbled as her eyes flicked across the room at the shadows. She knew that if he started shadow traveling she wouldn't stand a chance.
"Shouldn't this count as cheating? Since I can only y'know breath under water like a fish..." She slowly raised her sword so it was pointed at his chest.

Markus shrugged once again and mumbled out "I only said don't drown me... No one said any rules." His eyes sparkled as he pulled more shadows to block out the sun from the arena. He wasn't the best at making friends, but he also wasn't one for being unfair to people unless they pissed him off seriously. Being dressed in black, the lack of sunlight was helping Markus blend in fairly well, pro for him. But the con was he can't see in the dark. He's not that cool.

Markus felt the air move when Austin pointed her sword at his chest and shook his head at her, "You could use this to your advantage.." He said out loud, trying to help her improve even if it cost him a win. Stepping into her reach quickly, Markus used the flat of his blade to knock her sword out of her hand. Now he only had to worry about maintaining the shadow cover and her scythe. He hated scythes.

(lol what happened to everyone else?! XD)
Austin's eyes widened and she took a staggering breath.
"You're right I could... now just keep talking" she grumbled as she listened to the sounds seemingly echoing across the walls. Ever since Austin had developed her strange fear of silence, she'd earned amazing hearing from just always trying to hear at least an ounce of sound.

Side-stepping away, after her sword clattered to the ground, Austin reached out and punched the being closest to her. Sure, Markus was fast, but he most likely couldn't move too fast when he couldn't see anything.
"What was the point of making this entire room super dark, if you yourself can't even see anything?" she called out, holding on tighter to her Scythe. At this rate she didn't care if Markus found her by her talking. Getting beaten was better then getting imaginably choked by silence.
Little Shenanigans Little Shenanigans

Markus Weir
Markus let out a little squeak of surprise when he got punched in the chest by Austin, his concentration broken, making the room fill with sunlight as the shadows retreated. Blushing a little Markus took a step back from Austin, rubbing his chest where she punched him. Don't get him wrong, it didn't hurt. It just surprised him. Markus rolled his shoulders back, getting into a fighting stance as he stared the girl down. He expected her to attack now, honestly. He didn't want this little battle to go on for much longer.
