Rouge had ridden in the back of the truck with the others. She admits that the ride was a little too calm after the whole fiasco of the shoot out. But she enjoyed it. Her arm hurt like a b**** now that she wasn't running on pure adrenaline she felt exhausted again…she was sweating from the pain ..and she was a little hungry.

The place they stopped at was a lodge of sorts. A cabin? Nah, too big. It was a pretty decent sized one though. After everyone got off the truck she stayed behind relaxing on her spot.

Though there was a unconcious girl with her there and the lady…..colt was it? Colt was in front drinking. A ginger popped by to get the bags.

That aside it was …….nice….
Rouge looked around at the trees…….it was quiet, there was a murmur of voices from inside the cabin, it was starting to become a bit pink because of dusk coming soon. The air was a bit cool…….Rouge closed her eyes and she felt her body slowly start to relax for the first time since this whole disaster started.

And then she heard the click of a gun and colt yell in slurred speak. Rouge jolted I'm surprise then looked to the front where she saw Colt pointing her gun at a overweight guy.

Rouge furrowed her brows as he yelled about not being infected…..

¨Im finally saved!¨ Michael thought while he slowly approached the lodge...or well he did until a person pointed a gun at his head ¨HOLYFUCKINGSHITDONTSHOOT¨ those were the only words that managed to come out of his mouth while he tried grabbing his Katana to protect himself, just to then fail at grabbing the damn thing. after that he once more puts his hands in the air, waiting for the inevitable... Yet the mysterious figure does not open fire at him.

After finally calming down and recovering his breath, he finally sees that the person pointing a gun at him is a woman that appears to be… Drunk?! right now in the middle of the fucking apocalypse?!! Anyway, he was also able to see a red-haired woman looking at both of them with the glance of his eyes but quickly focused his attention back to the woman in front of him.

¨I should probably introduce myself, right?¨ Michael said, using all of his little charisma so the woman would not shoot him ¨My name is Michael Schmidt, but you may call me just Michael¨ Tips fedora ¨M´Lady¨

A Place To RestWhile cradling her belly, one of the other girls that she had seen on the way back to the lodge came by, holding a teddy bear, curled up on the other end of the couch. While they had not interacted very much, Shinoa could at least tell that she was scared. It wasn't often that girls within their age group was going around with teddy bears. When a blanket was pushed towards her, Shinoa glanced down towards it, before kindly accepting the girl's kind gesture and wrapping the blanket around herself to keep warm, despite her body having doubled the amount of body heat that she had. "Thank you."

Moments later, they were joined by Doctor Fisher who sat in between them. As commotion started, she noticed the younger woman plug her ears. Was the girl scared of loud noises? Surely anxiety played a part in it? Shinoa only took a deep breath and tried to relax, hoping that whatever was happening outside would calm down. After the last two days, if Shinoa was honest, she would actually kill for some peace and quiet. She then proceeded to grab the nearest pillow and placed it behind her back to help with the achy feeling she was now having. Quietly, she continued to rub her belly in hopes of getting her restless baby to calm down, as she was now fidgeting from the suddenly loud noises.

Intruder
Brian was contemplating on revealing his identity to the group. Sooner or later, they were going to find out that he was an Operative for the CIA. But first, he had to earn their trust. If he were to blurt it out now, especially with how gung-ho half of them were, not to mention ex-military, they probably would not hesitate to kill him and dump his body in the river if not anything worse. As he heard one of the other shout loudly, his train of thought was disrupted. Retracting his Wrist Blade back into his sleeve, he clicked the safety on his handgun off before going to investigate. What greeted him left Brian rather puzzled. A rather obese man, armed with a knock-off Katana, wearing a trench coat and fedora. On the other hand, the Alcoholic Ex-Soldier had her gun raised at him. His gun was holstered, concealed beneath his blazer. However, he took encountering another human being over the infected and certainly over the Soldiers that he served as the Liaison for. Another thing was he certainly hoped this man wasn't followed. Brandishing his Wrist Blade, he took a few steps closer to the overweight man, the tip of the blade pressed against his neck. "Alright fat boy, you're gonna tell us how you found this place. And don't bullshit us...Its been a long day and we're all very on edge. Your life hangs in the balance. What you say next will decide on whether you live...or die. Whether its me going Ezio Auditore da Firenze on your meaty ass...Or Soldier Girl here lighting you up like the Fourth of July." He said coldly, the tip of the blade still pressed against the other man's neck and ensuring him that one wrong move meant a death sentence by keeping his blade at the ready.

Doctor Ralph Fisher and Jenna: The Lodge
700-00439956en_Masterfile.jpg

Ralph's eyes moved between Shinoa and the little girl, keeping a watchful eye on them both. He wasn't sure about the little girl's condition, but Shinoa was exhausted. The weight of what was inside of her and the stress of rapidly approaching childbirth would be bad enough, but she was also right in the middle of a horrific outbreak.
It could factor into possible complications, and in that case the fates of Shinoa and her child rested in the hands of a tall and purple-haired young woman. He didn't doubt her skills by any means, in fact it was the lodge that worried Ralph. Was it sanitary? Did they have enough medical supplies? He wanted to talk inventory, but at the same time he didn't want to let Shinoa out of his sight.

He'd known her for less than a day but she didn't have anybody else. Fisher didn't want to admit it, but her family was probably dead. She probably thought the same, but holding onto hope was important.
"Can you please keep it down." He told the others "She needs to rest."

Ralph stood up from the sofa, offering the girl more room while he sat on a wooden chair in the corner.

"My grandfather had a place like this, once."

Jenna was outside, pretending that she was taking Cammy out to use the bathroom. That was part of it, of course but there were two other reasons. She wanted to get a feel of the grounds, checking for entrances and escape routes in case they were attacked by the infected or the hazmats but there was another reason.
She sat down on a tree stump and reached into her rucksack, taking inventory of her supplies. If the lodge was going to start rationing she had a few things she could offer up. She only had some snacks a few bottles of water, but it was better than nothing.
She also had her emergency medical supplies, bought when she was in the States in case she came across a wounded animal. Her makeup was there too.

The most important thing, to her at least was her oestrogen medication. It was in pill form and a smaller dose than she'd had to take years ago but still essential. She'd packed plenty for the trip, and had marked down places where the pills could be bought in the event that she was robbed.
Setting the small bottles of pills out, she started to jot down notes.

The trip was meant to be for two months, ending in LA where it would come to an end with a bang as she dove head-first into the city's gay scene. It had been a whole year in planning, and she'd actually extended the trip due to popular demand from a few fans in LA. She was going to see so much of the country, and probably only scratch the surface in the process.

"So long as I keep these close, I won't have to worry about running low until..."
She glared at the page and laughed.
"Six weeks from now. Well, thank fuck for that."

The side-effects of withdrawal were something she'd only read about, and could lead to her death in an apocalyptic-like scenario. She couldn't afford to take any chances.
Placing everything back in her rucksack, Jenna heard a commotion coming from the woods. Taking Doris' cane in hand, she stayed low and started to move towards it.
Colt was pointing a gun at a neckbeard and one of the other ex-military people she'd come across held a knife to the man's throat. If he made the wrong move, he was a dead man, plain and simple.

"Michael, was it?" Jenna asked "Listen, these people are trained. Just do as they say, answer their questions and they won't hurt you." She offered the man a friendly smile.
"Pretty sure this guy's harmless." She told the ex-soldiers

Ray Childress: The Lodge

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Ray thanked Luca, he helped them gather the bodies onto a tarp. The truck pulled up soon after, it's occupants consisted of most of the faces he remembered, but also a few new ones. He noticed one of the people that had left on the scavenge trip was absent though, the man with the red hair. Ray couldn't help but fear the worst; as it seemed, he most likely died during the trip. Why else would he be left behind?.. He joined a few others that went to meet the truck while Luca and a few others dragged the zombies off to burn. He approached the vehicle behind the red haired girl, Andy, to assist in the unloading of supplies. His attention went to the unconscious girl at about the same time Andy's did. Someone mentioned the name 'Owen' from the lot of them while explaining what had happened. That's the red haired guy. Where is he... It seemed Andy was very upset and just about as confused as Ray, concerning the whereabouts of Owen. Ray knelt down by the unconscious girl and examined the knot on her head. Nothing more than a hard knock that rattled her brain. She was going to have a killer headache when she came to though. He stood back up and took another longer look at the new folks among them. The lodge was going to get much more crowded with them moving in. One of them was a pregnant lady that made Ray happy inside. He was slightly worried about the delivery of the baby and if they had the supplies to help her through that, but he knew they had a handful of people amongst them who were medically skilled, himself being decent at it.

Andy went inside with some supplies in hand and the seemingly drunk lady stumbled in after her and came back out minutes later. That was when a commotion erupted and Ray made his way over to see what was going on. Another newcomer, a rather heavy set man with a katana in his hand. He called out so nobody would shoot him, but was greeted with barrels in his face. As expected if you walk up on strangers like this after what everyone has been through. It was strange how this man stumbled across the lodge, considering it was pretty remote. Did he follow them back? Could it be a friend or relative of Andy's that also knew of the cabin? Ray stepped out to get closer to the man, not too close as to get within range of a swing of his sword though.

Ray spoke up in a voice that would definitely draw the attention of the man. "Drop the katana if you have any desire to live, I wouldn't test this lady. Answer the question, how did you find this place?"

Dinoco Gas Station
October 17th, 2018 6:15pm

maxresdefault (2).jpgIt had taken him longer than he had anticipated to make it over to the gas station. He hadn’t had much luck finding a car and one failed attempt had caused a car alarm to drag a bunch of undead idiots to his location. Some quick movement and careful maneuvering had taken him back out of harm's way, but it had taken him about twice as long to reach his destination as he had intended.

Owen had visited this gas station more times than he could even count. It was near his mom’s work, and he loved the old man that used to run it. He knew it carried a lot of things they could use and would likely be less inhibited than the big grocery stores. The male had patched up himself, his car and his grumbling stomach all in one fell swoop here. It was the the perfect place to wrangle up a few last minute supplies before heading back.

There were a few straggling corpses in the area, but by being quiet he knew that he could avoid pulling their attention to him. Honestly, the thing that caused him the most concern was the bike parked out front. It was possible, Owen conceded, that it was left here by some now walking corpse, but his luck wasn’t that good. It was far more likely that someone was inside the store. He put a hand out to touch the metal of the bike, his palm flat against the sleek design. It was still warm.

It was too dark inside the brick building to see through the windows to see who or what was waiting for him inside. He crouched down and made his way behind the building. He had shared a few smokes back here with some of the employees, even made a few deals. With any luck, he would be able to sneak his way inside.

The area behind the station looked much like he remembered. A few plastic crates were turned upside down to be used as makeshift chairs all centered around a trash can with some sand in it to be used for the communal ashtray. He hadn’t had the time to really consider all the friends he had lost in the last twenty four hours, keeping himself and Andy alive had taken most of his willpower. But now that it was silent and he was alone, he could almost see the ghosts of the people who used to sit here and laugh with him.

A gluttonous growl broke him from his thoughts. The male turned to see one of the monsters approaching from the dumpsters. There were dark stains on his red polo, “Dinoco Gas Station” embroidered on the left side of his chest. His dark curls were matted, but they had always looked like that. Even through the gore and the skin missing from his lips, Owen could still recognize the face.

“Dan.” Owen said his name sadly as he looked him over. He limped slowly closer to the redhead, dragging the exposed bone of his ankle across the black asphalt. He The redhead had killed a fair number of the corpses at this point, but it was never anyone that he knew. Never a face that he recognized. The idea of smashing Dan’s face in turned Owen’s stomach, but he knew that leaving him out here was not an option. He would only bring more dead to him. Shooting him wasn’t viable either, it was obvious what the noise did to the nearby corpses.

“I’m sorry man.” Owen tightened the grip of his bat, pulling it back and preparing to swing. The feel of the rubber grip between his fingers steeled his nerve. He had been a sweet kid, never interested in anything Owen had except maybe to bum a smoke off of him. He liked video games and worked here part time to help his mom with his college expenses, he went to the same school as Andy. Owen remembered him telling him once that he thought Andy was cute. None of that mattered now though, he was gone. All of his humanity had been ripped from him and now he was a shell, wandering and doing harm. It was almost a mercy to put him down, at least that’s what Owen told himself.

When the metallic ring of the bat sounded, Owen closed his eyes. He didn’t want to see the gore of the man’s face. It was easy to dissociate yourself from the killing when they were just random faces, random monsters that wished him harm. Beating the brains out of someone you knew brought a whole level of hurt that Owen wasn’t prepared for. The monster slumped to the pavement in a wet sounding thud. Blood splattered the red head’s pale face, adding more to the carnage that covered his bat.

As he looked down at the slumped form of the kid he used to know, hot tears stung, pooling in the corner of Owen’s eyes. Somehow, this all still felt like some sort of terrible dream. Stupid, but somehow it seemed more likely than it being true. People coming back from the dead, eating each other, that was the shit of video games and horror movies. It wasn’t the kind of thing that happened to real people.

Good people.

The man sniffed, running the back of his wrist under his nose as he kept the tears from falling. There wasn’t time to fall apart, he had told Colt as much. He had to keep moving forward, so he did. With a heavy sigh and a heavier heart, Owen reached into Dan’s pockets. It was a slow movement, the kind that left him ready to reel back at a moment’s notice but the boy was dead. Finally resting and at peace.

Owen found what he was looking for. A ring of keys that he recognized as belonging to the Dinco station. He didn’t give himself any more time to dwell or mope, he turned from the corpse and walked up the steps to the back of the station and fiddled with the keys until he found the right one to let himself in.

The man was careful to make sure the door behind him shut softly, as he moved silently through the back room of the store, and then finally out another already open door to the area behind the counter. He had been right, someone was moving about in the dark of the store front. Owen bit his lip, thinking. It was likely not a zombie, as the chances of the thing turning from the time it took to turn off the bike and get inside wasn’t likely. It didn’t really look like a soldier either. In the blue twilight of dusk, he could make out the shape of a slender form, it looked like it was maybe a woman. Hesitantly, Owen rose, gun in his hand ready to shoot if things turned sour.

“Listen. I mean no harm, I don’t want to spook you.” He spoke softly as to not get shot himself. “I’m just here for some supplies and I’ll be on my way.” She turned to face him and Owen cocked his head. There was something familiar about the shape of her eyes, it was hard to make out in the dark of the room. It couldn’t be…

“Sarah?” He asked in disbelief. Owen had been so caught up in surviving and keeping Andy alive the idea that the rest of his family survived had been lost on him. There was obviously more survivors than their group who had made it from the school. But the more he looked at her, the more he was sure it was his cousin.

“What in the hell are you doing here?”

The corner of Rouges mouth quirked at the many reactions of everyone. Half were hostial and other half were more or less trying to pacify the others. The look on the guys face could only be described as a nervous wreck. He had on a nervous smile along with wide eyes. His cheek twitches and he was sickly pale.

She jumped over the edge of the truck bed and held her lame arm behind her back with her good hand eyeing him with a little of what seems to be genuine amusement.

Her eyes roamed over to his orange stained fingers down to the katana……..

“........pfft…..” Rouge instantly noticed the cheap type most commonly sold in conventions and some malls. The metal was so brittle it could snap any moment and the blade was so dull that there was a possibility that the edge couldn't even cut skin. Also, judging by how he held himself the most damage that he could do was fall on her. Rouges quirk turned into more of a chesar grin as she slinked behind the others around until she was behind the large newcomer.

She watched their interactions for a bit until her grin relaxed into her neutral and uninteresting look. She put her lame hand into her pocket before she snuck up behind him and unhooked it from his waist. Essentially yoinking it from his possession. Rouge hopped backwards towards the others looking at the sheeted katana from one side to the other.

Again, it was merely a flimsy imitation. But at least he didn’t have a “weapon” to scare the others. If it was any other person what she did was probably, most likely, dangerous. She probably would have been smacked down or killed…..hell, he could have even dodged her……

Here eyes flashed to the large mans face reading his expression. Another flicker of amusement went through her eyes.

Colt did not lower the gun as the man answered them, giving them his name. As well as seemingly trying to charm her by tipping his fedora. Whatever that meant. The woman blinked a few times at the absurdity of the whole thing before she shook her head and cocked her gun again, not interested in any of that kind of crap.

Boooah I’m in a MIIIIGHTY bad mood so cut the shit and ANSWER THE DANG QUESTION!” Colt snarled through her teeth. She was honestly at the end of her rope with everything that was happening today and yesterday. Any more crap coming from this guy’s mouth was going to have the exact results that people expected. The veteran glanced as she well dressed man, Brian as he then stepped up to join her. Colt blinked and gave him a slight glare as he insulted the man’s weight. That was a little uncalled for. Colt grumbled some curses under her breath as she took a long drink from her beer, hoping to calm her nerves so she did not do anything irrational.

Back aff, pretty boah. I got this.” She growled at him, what the hell was he even talking about? Who was Ezio? Just then, the girl Jenna and Ray both emerged. Jenna seemed to try and defuse the situation while Ray was doing the opposite, telling the guy to obey her. Colt’s inebriated head span as she tried to focus on four people at once. This was not going how Colt wanted, why couldn’t these people just back the fuck off and let her deal with it?!

Shuddup!” she growled slurring at the others before turning to Michael, “Right you.” She took a couple of steps closer, now limping more due to her lack of balance, “Ya ‘ave one-minute t’tell me what the fuck yer doin’ ‘ere and how ya found us.” Her tone was quiet and dangerous indicating that if he did not co-operate his head was going to turn into a pink slush. Despite how much Colt despised herself for killing so easily and was giving herself a good mental bashing for doing this in the first place, she would be damned if she was going to let her guard down and potentially allow this stranger to do harm. She had made too many mistakes today. But then, a flash of silver caught her attention as the red-haired girl suddenly nicked the man’s katana from him.

The fuck- git back, ya-!” she snarled at the younger girl. Couldn’t they just let her do this!? She then resumed her glare at the man but did not lower her firearm. If he made one move towards her, or Rouge (despite Colt wanting to box her ears for being stupid) it was goodbye head!

Milly did not uncover her ears and kept her eyes squeezed shut, causing tears to leak from them from the fear caused by the shouting. It was so loud and scary here. She wanted to go home! Her mind spun as she still couldn’t understand why this was all happening. Milly was jumped out of her thoughts by a sharp and dull pain in her stomach, causing her to put her arms around it. She glanced at the pregnant lady as she seemed to take her offer of the blanket as she wrapped it around herself with a kind ‘thank you’ just that tone of voice almost made Milly burst into tears. It reminded her a lot of her mother. She was very unsure as to what to say so just gave the girl a kind smile in return. The art of conversation was not her forte.

Milly hugged her teddy against her stomach, wishing it could make the pain go away. It was after six at night, by now she would have had dinner, it was supposed to be tomato soup with melted cheese on toast. Just the thought of it made it hurt more. She looked at the older man as he asked her if she was okay. The thirteen-year-old blinked as she looked down, unsure of what to say. But… she could not ignore him. She could not lie either. She was not okay. Far from okay. But she didn’t want to talk too much. Talking too much was rude. Milly stared with a blank stare before she sniffed as tears continued to leak from her eyes.

M-my tummy hurts…” she said quietly, avoiding looking the man in the face. If anything, she felt really bad for saying that. But it was the truth. Milly hugged the bear tighter and put her light blue hood up over her head. Given that she did not have her weighted blanket, so the hoodie was the next best thing. The youngster cuddled her white teddy close against her. At least she had it if anything happened to this bear it really would be the end of the world.

Ivan and Leliana

"Alright alright, I'm coming." Ivan said quickly in response to the teenagers course words about his injury. He reached up to her from the truck and stood up, putting his arm around her shoulder and using the other to balance himself. He gave a short wince as he leg swung limply, hanging from his knee like a chandelier from a wire. "I imagine this is going to hurt, hm?" He said with a short chuckle to distract himself from the excruciating pain as they walked towards the lodge. "Hey, maybe we could get a drink once we're done putting my let back together. I found some earlier while I was looking for a jacket." He whispered to her, giving a thumbs up as they walked(edited)

-----------------------------------

Leliana wasn't typically the type of person to get angry, no, she had been taught how to keep her emotions under control. But as she watched him limp over, his leg swinging uselessly, she could feel an ungodly amount of rage brewing. This must be what Colt felt like all the time. I mean, seriously, how could he go an fuck up his leg this badly day two of the end of the world? What action movie bullshit was he trying pull? "Oh it's probably gonna be the most painful thing you've ever experienced," She deadpanned. "I don't have any fast acting painkillers to give you, and I certainly am not knocking you out for this." Her words had a bite to them one maybe would expect from her, but Leliana seriously just wasn't in the mood for him joking around, and she was maybe now feeling a little stressed. There was no way for her to really tell just how badly he had messed his leg up without the proper equipment, and he would have to be off his leg for a good while while he recovered. Putting her arm around his back, and then taking the hand that was across her shoulder, Leliana began to help Ivan limp to the lodge. "What were you guys even doing? I mean, that's not a normal injury."

------------------------------------

"We got stuck on a roof so we had to jump between a few. I think it's safe to say I've let myself go a bit." Ivan said with a short chuckle as he limped towards the lodge with Leliana. "I'm glad you survived. Back at the school I mean. You're really useful, plus it's been a while since anyone gave a genuine damn about me." He said, smiling despite what he said.

-------------------------------

"Let me guess, you somehow managed to hit you knee on every surface you could, sometimes more than once just for good measure?" She asked, sighed through her nose. "You realize how lucky you are? Stitches and bandages are one thing, most people can somewhat manage to bullshit their way around those, but setting bones and fixing joints, you'd be put of luck if I wasn't here." She had heard someone else say they were a health care professional, then go on and say something about animals which lead Leliana to believe they were a vet. No offense to whoever it was, but taking care of puppies and kittens was a little different than being an actual doctor. When they got to the stairs, she start helping him up slowly, ignore the commotion behind them, briefly letting go of Ivan's hand to grab her blood soaked sweater and toss it up further on the railing. "I was raised to give a damn. And despite what I may look like, I am capable of handling myself." She paused though, giving him a faint a smile. "But, I'm glad I made it out too. And I'm glad you were there watching our backs, because if not, we totally would have died."

---------------------------------

"Damn right." Ivan said quickly, before breaking into a short chuckle. "I'm only joking. All I really did was cause trouble. And because of me any supplies I didn't grab are just piles of ash." He said, looking down at the patio below him before clearing his throat quickly. "Anyways. Let's get me fixed up so I can go out and break something again." He said, obviously joking as he reached for the doorknob and swung it open.

----------------------------------

"Well, it was helpful trouble," Leliana retorted. "Those supplies would be lost anyway, the school would be over run, and if not, people better armed than we would have gone and claimed it for themselves. So, think about it like this. We don't have them, but neither do the Hazmats." She turned sideways to help him through the door. "I swear to God Ivan, you break another home in your body, I'll beat you with the biggest stick I can find." Her tone made it seem like she was serious, despite the fact she was joking. Or was she joking? Anyway, Leliana helped Ivan limp his way over to one of the couches in the living room, the empty one without the scared little girl or Shinoa. "I hope you know there's only so much I can do for you. I can put it back, but this isn't like popping your shoulder back into place."

---------------------------------

"You're right, we'd be pretty screwed if the hazzies had those supplies. Thanks for not letting me take a shit on my actions." Ivan said with a quick smile as he sat down on the couch she'd led him to. "I'm ready whenever you are Врач (doctor.) " He knew it would hurt, the only question was how much and how quickly it'd be over.

------------------------------

Grabbing the duffel bag of medical supplies from where left it on the floor, Leliana turned away from him, and placed it on the table. He first thing she would pull out was some painkillers, checking them, then changing her mind an opting for a different type. "These should act a little faster, but you have to dry swallow, alright? I can't leave your knee like that for much longer." She didn't know how long it had actually been like that, but the supply group had been gone for a while. She handed Ivan two pills, motioning for him to hurry up an take them as she looked around for something else. "Please do not scream to loudly. I learned today those monsters are attracted by noise," Leliana said as She took a place beside his leg on the floor, gently touching his knee. "Are you sure you're ready?"

----------------------------------------

Ivan thumbed the two pills in his hand before tossing them back into his mouth. When she touched his knee and talked about not screaming, Ivan got an idea. He looked around before spotting a seemingly clean dishrag before rolling it up and putting it in his mouth. Once he was prepared he gave a thumbs up and a muffled "Ready." He gripped the couch cushions in anticipation before taking in a number of breaths to prepare.

----------------------------------------

At first, she didn't touch his dislocated kneecap, as she hesitated. Leliana was nervous. He need to go get an xray, an MRI, to go see a real doctor, not a nursing student two years ahead of her studies. Leliana paused briefly, hoping Ivan didn't mind her hesitation because if she didn't do this right, his knee wouldn't heal correctly, and he's walk with a limp, or much worse. "Come on, you don't have time for this," she told herself, balling her fist for a moment, before placing her hands on his leg. Preferably, she of course wouldn't be doing this. Well, preferably, non of this would be happening in the first place, the dead wouldn't be walking and crash guys would be trying to kill them. Anyway, she looked up at Ivan, then back down at his knee, "Three, two, one!" As soon as she said one, she moved his kneecap. There was a horrid sound of scrapping bone and cartilage, but she got it closer to where it was supposed to be. "Now here's the hard part. I obviously can't see what I'm doing through your skin, and can't go and cut you open because we don't have the stuff to do that. Unless you want me to try doing a mini knee surgery here in the middle of Andy's living room in front of a pregnant woman and a child?"

---------------------------------------------

Ivan looked at her, understanding her hesitation before she finally slid his knee in. The pain was unbearable, but Ivan kept his mouth shut as not to disturb the people around them. Instead of the scream that was going to come eventually, there was a short groan that was muffled through the towel before he began inhaling deeply through his nose. When Leliana said something about a surgery, he shook his head quietly, giving a thumbs up as to say 'I'll be fine.' He was definitely getting a drink after this even if he had to pry it from Colts hungover hands. On second thought, it'd be better to find his own bottle as screwing with a drunk Colt would get him shot.

------------------------------------------

"Alright, well then, remember the intense pain I may have mentioned? This is where it's comes in. Like I said, I can't see what I'm doing under your skin, so it's a lot of...uh, guess work. If j could have had an Xray or an MRI, preferably both done, this would be a lot easier. And because if how displaced your kneecap was, the ligaments holding it in place are either torn are severely stretched, which means once I'm done, you can't move without help, do you understand me?" She asked, putting her hands back on his leg. Her fingers would gently press at the new location of his kneecap, trying to determine just how far off she was. Her brows furrowed as the gears spun. One hand went to her own knee for a comparison. After a few moments, she sighed. "Okay, I wasn't too far off with my fist move, one more time should do it, then I can wrap it. Get ready."

----------------------------------------

Ivan continued to inhale sharply, exhaling through the towel in his mouth as he looked down at the girl before him, having leaned his head back from the pain. He gave a short nod of understanding at her statement of not moving around before stretching his neck a bit. He'd been shot once or twice before, which sucked. This was comparable to that so it wouldn't be as bad as if he'd never experienced pain that bad before. He gave another thumbs up to her before closing his eyes gently. He prepared himself mentally for the sharp wave of pain that would shoot through him at any moment.

-----------------------------

Leliana put the palm of her hand on his kneecap, using her finger tips as a marker, and with one movement, finally pushed it back into place. She pressed down on his kneecap as well, to make sure it was not only secure, but defiantly in the right place. "I still don't know how landing on roofs knocked it out of place so badly." She muttered, turning behind her to grab the duffel bag. Digging inside to grab some ace bandages, Leliana began to wrap his knee. "I'll tell someone to keep an eye for some crutches or ask Andy if there might be any stored around here somewhere. You can't go out on any supply runs, or do anything crazy. Hell, I'm even grounding you from using the stairs, at least by yourself."
-----------------------------

Ivan let a short shout slip out of his mouth as she shoved his knee into place. The towel fell out of his mouth as he opened it and he quickly clasped his hand over it. As she started to wrap it, he removed his hand from his mouth and let a short sigh come from it. "We can ask Andy. Maybe she has some family that had a bad knee or something." Ivan said with a short chuckle. The pain was becoming more bearable with each passing second, but there was still an echo of it through him that made the other parts of his body uncomfortable

--------------------------

Leliana made quick work when it came to wrapping his leg, she had to. "It might be uncomfortable and a little tight, but it has to be to keep everything in place," She explained, holding the end of the beige bandage in place as she rummaged for a metal clip. "And I'm serious when I say you can move, you're grounded from moving, I'm grounding you." Once she was done, the teen stood and sighed, "Now, get some rest and stop doing stupid shit for like, five minutes alright? Holler if you need anything."(edited)

------------------------------

"But mooooom. I wanna go outside and play with my friends." Ivan said before chuckling heartily. He looked around, tossing the towel that had been in his mouth onto the table beside the couch before looking at Leliana again. "Thank you. I'm grateful that you're here." He said with a quick smile before laying down on the couch, propping his injured leg up with a pillow before closing his eyes quietly.

------------------------------

Leliana just sighed, and stood up watching Ivan for a moment, before she walked off the kitchen to go get herself some water. When she came she had two bottles, one for herself, and one for Ivan than she placed on the coffee table. Thankfully, now that was done with, Leliana could focus on other people.

c9b3095212454f2e4614cb93e83d64b6--drawing-practice-drawing-girls.jpgIt was sort of crazy how slowly the day seemed to pass when there wasn’t much to occupy your time or thoughts. Andy had been known to waste whole days idly scrolling through facebook on her phone or watching youtube, but without working internet or cell signal, she had to work harder to fill in the boredom. Archery practice had only been able to take up so much of the afternoon, targets that were stationary weren’t much of a challenge for the three time national champion. The books she had laying around the lodge were all ones she had read before, and even sketching hadn’t been able to hold her interest for long.

The problem was that she was worried about Owen. Sure, she had seen just a few nights prior that he knew how to handle himself, but right now things were so crazy in the city. Any number of things could happen to him while he was out and about. Also she didn’t really know any of the people that her brother had gone with, two were ex military and if they wanted to hurt him…

Andy shook the thoughts away as quickly as they came. Freaking out about it wasn’t going to do her any good. However, as the light slowly became dimmer and dimmer and with no sign of her brother, the girl wondered if she shouldn’t go out and look for him herself. She didn’t know what she would do if one of those men in the hazmat suits found her, but leaving Owen to fend for himself didn't feel right. What in the world did people do before cell phones.

Luca may help her if she asked him nicely, but that involved asking Luca for help. From the tone of their last conversation she wasn’t sure if that was the brightest of ideas. Still, the two of them had gotten through a few dangerous situations by sticking together. Maybe it was worth swallowing her pride and going to talk to him.

Andy rolled over to lean off her side of the bed, her torso hanging as she reached underneath the mattress. Her hand grasped at nothing, searching for a mostly full glass bottle that she had hidden the previous weekend for a rainy day. Finally, the smooth feel of the frosted glass was beneath her fingers and the girl produced a large bottle of rum. She typically preferred to drink it in coke, but for now drinking it straight would do.

She rose, her bare feet padding across the wood floors of the lodge as she made her way out to the porch. Luca hadn’t moved in hours, he was still propped up against the wall of the lodge, his new gun in his lap. Didn’t he get cold, or hungry, hell didn’t he get bored? At the bare minimum Andy had assumed that he would have gone through his pack of cigarettes by now.

“Isn’t your ass sore?” Andy asked sitting down on the floor next to him. Her uncle had built this deck, and while it was expertly crafted she didn’t expect that the wood could feel great on your tailbone for the passage of hours he had been sitting in the same place. The redhead unscrewed the top from the bottle and put it to her lips and took a swig of the room temperature beverage. She offered the liquor to Luca. Whether the bottle was a bartering chip or a way to pass the time had yet to be seen.

When Andy had originally walked out, Luca didn’t bother turning his head to see who it was that exited the lodge. He had been sitting outside of the lodge, watching the chaos unfold as a clearly overweight gentleman made his way to the lodge. There was certainly no reason for Luca to introduce himself when three members of the lodge voluntarily stepped up to greet the stranger. If he somehow managed to get past them with his katana, he had Luca’s rifle to deal with next.

For the past few hours, Luca had been sitting outside in attempts to keep a proper lookout. Before the group got back from their supply run, he was the only person in the house who really knew how to handle a gun. Not one to trust someone without experience to handle the fort, he initially intended to be the first to know if any reanimated humans had finally traversed all the way out to the middle of nowhere. It was obvious that at the time, he was the most capable force to properly combat the threat. In the case of any bandits, the same fact remained. The man didn’t feel right enjoying his time inside while a group of people were out getting supplies for the lodge. Now, Luca didn’t specify when they should try to make it back but that was effectively the second reason as to why he had originally sat outside. He was waiting for Colt, Owen, Ivan and Marcus to get back.

When Andy took a seat next to him, Luca still continued looking forward. By this time, another cigarette had been burning away between his lips while the back of his head remained firmly planted against the house, slightly cocked upward. His eyes were fixated on the scene unfolding before him. Even immediately after Andy finally spoke, Luca kept relatively quiet. She must have been worried about Owen. Regardless of the amount of time that had passed, the former capo was quite talented when it came to reading people. Andy couldn’t contain her anxiety any longer. At the moment of this realization, she offered the bottle of Rum his way.

Luca noticed the gesture out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head slightly in her direction, one hand removing the cigarette from his mouth while the digits of his other grasped the neck of the bottle and relieved it from her possession. The first thing Luca did was take a drink. Upon bringing it down and taking his shot, the man wiped his lips with the back of the same hand that was holding the bottle.

“Does a bear shit in the woods?” The man took another sip of the alcohol before passing the bottle back to the woman. Sitting on wood wasn’t exactly the most comfortable place to relax, but Luca was used to forcing himself through uncomfortable periods of time. Despite the fact that he had been sitting because he didn’t want to tire out, Luca didn’t really know how to do nothing. There was never a day in the past ten years that he didn’t have to work. While he was restricted to sitting around the house and protecting a bunch of women due to his temporary physical impairment, it was still his job to make sure no other exterior forces posed any threat.

“Why are you sitting here?” The man asked bluntly, bringing the cigarette back to his lips to take another drag. Luca wasn’t particularly the type who enjoyed wasting his time, so he figured that the woman most definitely wanted something from him. Based on the past twenty-four hours, she hadn’t seemed to grow into the type to take quite well to interactions from other people. If their conversation hours prior hadn’t taught Luca that, then he would have been more dense than the concrete foundation that held up the lodge. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand; if anything, he related. The man recalled Andy explaining that the only reason she had been in the bedroom in the first place was to escape the people whom had taken up residence in her family’s home-away-from-home.

“What? Am I not allowed to sit on my own porch?” A subtle smile teased at the corner of her mouth. She grasped the neck of the bottle and rose it to take another drink. Andy knew that Luca was too smart to believe that, she had come out here for a reason and he knew it. Why else would she come talk to him at all? If she had any sense, she would be inside where it was warm instead of sitting with the cold seeping in through her jeans. Thankfully, the rum did wonder to keep her warm.

“I’m worried about Owen.” She leaned her head back against the wall and sighed. “If I’m supposed to sit here and bide my time till he gets back, I sure as hell don’t plan to do it sober.” Andy took another long drink from the bottle for good measure before passing it to Luca.

“Plus drinking alone is lame.”

“Drinking alone is lame, is it?” Luca asked, one of his eyebrows raising as he studied the woman’s profile. She disliked company unless she was drunk? He had not entertained the same notions, mostly because the man was so used to being alone. Even when he had a bunch of men with him, bodyguards and the like - it never made much of a difference. His light hues turned from her face to the bottle as she passed it back. Grabbing it a second time pretty much guaranteed that the girl wouldn’t have to worry about getting drunk all alone.

“Owen’s been taking care of himself for a long time. Just because you’ve been away at college, doesn’t mean he hasn’t been living his life any differently. I’m almost positive he’s had his fair share of people looking for him or wanting his head. This is no different. If anyone has a chance of getting back home in one piece, it’s him. He probably just got held up and didn’t want to get caught traveling in the dark. The smartest thing for you to do is to not risk it. Not right now.”

The Italian certainly understood why Andy was feeling the way she did. He took another drink from the bottle. Luca was ready to grab a few people and search for Owen tomorrow, but he wasn’t about to let Andy know of those plans. One thing the man had to take with him was his confidence; even if it was feigned, in situations such as these it meant the most. He handed the girl back her bottle, the results of his consumption heating up his face.

She studied his face as he spoke, a habit that some found unnerving. It was obvious to her that he was telling her whatever he thought would help keep her in place. Running off into the night to look for her brother wasn’t something that would benefit him. She couldn’t deny it was comforting though and not entirely untrue. Owen was resourceful and his life for the last few years was mostly a mystery to her. He had worked hard to keep it that way. At the end of the day Luca likely had a better idea of what he was capable of than she did.

afe9b4d123258672b37de4d797cbfe96--drawings-of-girls-people-drawings.jpg

“I wouldn’t be much use to him out there anyway,” she agreed. Andy was a lot of things, but good in a gunfight was not one of them. Just like when he had convinced her to leave the hospital, Luca was putting her best interests at heart. But why?

“I barely recognized you at the hospital,” she added taking another sip from the bottle. Many wild parties and late nights drinking at school had built her quite the tolerance, but even so she could feel the effects of the drink start to take effect. The resistance she normally felt about social interactions was always the first to fall.

“Why did you stop and save me?” It would be a lie to say that the question hadn’t been bothering her. For someone who liked to pretend that he cared about himself above all others, he did seem to go out of his way to protect others. It wasn’t just because it was convenient because he had saved her during the gun fight with the hazmat soldiers at the school too, jumped in front of her in the locker room. She was used to that sort of martyrdom from Owen, but Luca had no reason to do so.

Each new statement came with another sip of alcohol. Luca knew he was getting increasingly inebriated by his vision; with each tilt or turn of his head, he was no longer automatically blinking. It was the telltale sign for Luca that his drinking was providing results, but still he would continue nonetheless. There had been plenty of times that Luca had gotten far more drunk than he should have, but he had never run into a situation where he had blacked out or lost control of himself.

“Family is family, regardless of distance.”

The corners of his lips turned upwards into a small smile. She was right. It was uncharacteristic of Luca to worry about people other than himself. Most of his life, no one worried about him. Why pay them the same respect? Perhaps, part of his actions played out under the guise of his guilt for not being able to save the people he loved throughout his life. The other part, was because that was just what he did. He fought for the people whom he loved, his family, regardless of how far removed that feeling might have been. It was always his job, he put that on himself. Hell, he even remembered how Andrea hated being called Andy as a child; it was the reason he had affectionately used this name when he had come across her in the hospital a day prior. Luca turned from the girl, looking out into the darkness reaching just past the porch light.

“I was able to recognize you because of your eyes.”

[div class="Line"] [div class="Icon"] Actions[/div] Marcus sat in his room alone, his new pistol sitting next to him on the table. He stared at it for a moment before reaching over to pick up the weapon, he slowly examined it as he was still somewhat irritated with the fact that he was unimpressive today…unimpressive to anyone even himself. He stared into the barrel, not something recommended by anyone but the thoughts quickly roamed his head. Zombies, the government trying to kill survivors, his parents potentially being dead, and the list goes on…at least for him but what was the point in him being here if no amount of purpose was seen in him? He pulled pressed the ammo release. One bullet. The man racked the gun and put the weapon up to his head his teeth clenching. All this anger and sadness built up inside caused the man to throw the gun to the floor. “Don’t be stupid Marcus…don’t be selfish, you would just get the others killed if you did…” He sighed to himself, he was still upset and feeling bad for himself but he wasn’t ready to die just yet. His eyes watered, he wanted to shed tears but held them back for the moment. Marcus stayed cursing under his breath. Maybe talking to someone else for a while would keep his mind off of potential suicide.

He made his way out of his room and took a peek out of the hallway window noticing Colt along with a few others, the commotion made him curious and well he did say he needed to keep his mind off things which would have been a good idea if he steered clear of Colt but what's the worst that would happen? Marcus made his way downstairs and lurked behind some of the others as they seemed to surround a neckbeard with a katana. Colt was drunk as expected but she didn’t seem to be holding her liquor as well as usual. Maybe she was still a bit how do you say…not herself after the events that happened on their scavenging mission. The silver-haired man noticed that the twitch streamer was here too, wonder how she got herself in this mess. He listened for any sort of information as to what was going on and soon got an answer, he tapped the purple haired woman on the shoulder hoping she could give him more detail. “Hey…umm, Jenna right? Or do you prefer PurpleNoodle? Uhhhh never mind, think you could tell me what’s happening here exactly?” He asked curiously and nervously, in his eyes she was technically a celebrity.

Doctor Ralph Fisher and Jenna: The Lodge
700-00439956en_Masterfile.jpg

"My tummy hurts."
The first time Sarah had said those words, Ralph had feared some kind of parasite, such as a tapeworm was inside of his daughter and contemplated rushing her to the hospital. Thankfully, his wife knew better. She was the eldest of four children and had spent plenty of time in children's wards to know better than Fisher ever could about children.
So the three year old had not gone to hospital, but instead had an early dinner and was fine outside of some gas.
Ralph's mind wandered and he found himself staring into space, thinking of his family. Members of his team had families back in New York too. Would their deaths be covered up?
A more personally disturbing thought emerged: had the government faked Ralph's death? There was no way they'd let the truth get out, but the whole city hadn't been wiped out just yet. They could be waiting until after that to release false stories. A terrorist attack? Poison in the water that caused hallucinations? Anything was possible, really so long as they kept a lid on any truth getting out.

Realising he'd been staring into space for the good part of a minute, Ralph looked down at the girl.
"Are you hungry?" He asked "It could just be that."

"It could just be that, Ralph. Not everything has to be scary."
"What if I'm right?"
"Inside of these walls, you never are."
"I'm serious."
"Then we go to the hospital, obviously."

The more he sounded like June, the more he realised he missed her. Despite this, Ralph kept his warm smile in front of Milly. The same smile June had noticed, the same smile that Sarah knew all too well. It had been his mask for her on darker days, for regardless of how bad things got out in the field, he always came home beaming. At first it had just been for her, to keep her blissful for as long as possible but eventually he came to realise that it was also for him.

EA-007-800x800.jpg

Her gazed darted between Colt and Michael. The more the soldier spoke, the more aware Jenna became of her not being sober. Alcohol and any weapon was a bad mix, but a firearm? That was just asking for trouble.
The others tried to get the man with the fedora to speak up, and Rogue took hold of his katana. It had probably been bought at the mall, a decorative piece that didn't have much use in actual combat.
In terms of her own store-bought weapons, she kept a wooden cricket bat under her bed for good measure. She didn't think she'd ever have to use it to strike an intruder but she could always spring from her bedroom, waving it, screaming like a lunatic and hopefully that would be enough to frighten any burglars away. A sword would achieve the same effect but England had pretty strict laws on bladed weapons.
It's name was Lucille (obviously) and Jenna found herself weirdly missing it.

"He's not armed anymore. You can put the gun down." She told Colt.
Keeping her eyes fixed on Michael for the time being, she didn't see Marcus approach from behind. Was he a fan? She could always talk to him later, but the situation was far too tense. Colt was drunk, armed and Michael was obviously scared. Saying or doing the wrong thing would lead to someone getting hurt, and the possibility of the zombies finding the lodge.

"Jenna, or Gem for short." She said "I'm not streaming at the minute. The hazzies took down the bleedin' internet."
Total information blackout. She wondered about what bullshit story they'd push about what was actually going on. It didn't really matter as she'd expose them in the end.
"Well...This guy found the lodge. Trying to find out how, but he seems harmless to me. He's not even armed."
She pointed at Rogue, the katana still in the girl's hands.
"Was carrying that thing. I'm not saying we trust him, but I think we should all just take a breath and listen to the guy."

Disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time, what's your rush now, everyone will have his day to die.
Perfect Circle

“Listen. I mean no harm, I don’t want to--"

Sarah immediately dove behind the cover of one of the aisles, stumbling to a crouch then placing her back against the candy rack as she swiftly unholstered her glock. Shit. Shit shit shit. Of course someone had followed her. Her damn quad bike was the loudest god damn thing on four wheels that she had ever ridden. Whoever had entered the minimart from the backdoor, however, didn't appear to have had the resolve to pull the trigger and attempt to shoot her down as she took cover. His words had fallen on deaf ears in the burst of movement she had instinctively issued, but she knew it was a man. A young man. Probably around her age. Dammit...

Grabbing a can of spaghetti-o's from the rack across from her, Sarah took a deep breath before tossing it in the opposite direction— it was a gamble, but she was willing to bet the stranger was banking on her to surprise him from the other end of the aisle rather than the one she came in on. So, the moment the can struck the linoleum floor with a resounding clang, she didn't hesitate to dive out towards the center of the minimart floor instead and aim her gun. Her shoulder hit the ground sideways as the front sight of her hand cannon aligned itself with the young man's forehead. When it came down to it, however... she didn't pull her trigger either. She couldn't. The boys spiked red hair reminded her too much of...

"Sarah?"

"... O-Owen?"

"What in the hell are you doing here?"

Holy crap... it is him. She thought to herself, cautiously lowering her gun as she squinted her eyes at him from the floor. Had it been a little darker in here, she probably would have blown his head off. Thankfully, the snappers and the black entity hadn't driven her crazy enough to foster the growth of an itchy trigger finger... yet. But, all things considering, she was handling the end of the world as they knew it pretty well. You know, aside from the rampant hallucinations and murders. "I could ask you the same god damn thing." She grumbled, a little annoyed as she holstered her gun from the floor and lowered her black bandana from her mouth, stumbling back up onto two solid feet afterwards. Out of the incredibly few people she was invested in (not just in Aurora, but the entire world), Owen was one of them. Seeing him alive and well was certainly a relief, but also brought with it a sense of dread. Maybe Patrick's death was affecting her more than she knew, but...she had a feeling things like love and family didn't last long in this new, dark world. Maybe the entity stalking her was an omen. Maybe she would have been better off thinking Owen had escaped.

But, alas, that wasn't an option anymore.

Storming towards the counter her cousin stood behind, she pointed out the minimart window as she continued. "Are you aware of exactly what the fuck is going on out there?!" She spoke in a hushed but angry whisper. Climbing then sliding across the counter with ease, she knocked over a small cardboard case of lighters before suddenly trapping her cousin in a tight hug. "I could have fucking shot you." With the side of her face pressed tightly against his chest, her voice came out slightly muffled but audibly less aggressive than it had been moments ago. "Then Andy would have shot me, if I didn't beat her to the punch myself. Dumbass." She laughed, parting from her hug to look up at him and slap his cheek gently with the palm of her hand. Tears had formed at the edge of her eyes, but she didn't notice them. "You look like crap." She smiled, the bags under her eyes crinkling with the expression.

Taking a step back to look him over better, Sarah sucked in a deep breath before sighing. Her injured arm was stinging with sharp pain from the tight hug she had given, but she ignored it. Owen wasn't her dad or mom, but he was still family. And seeing him provided him far more comfort than even she had expected. "Can't say I don't look the same, though, huh?" She added, readjusting the strap on her shoulder that held her bag of supplies.

A Long NightThe commotion outside was escalating a little, at least from what the young mother could tell. The younger woman, Milly, seemed rather distraught. Judging by her behavior, Shinoa could only guess that she was either really sheltered growing up, or she has severe anxiety. Frowning, she proceeded to switch places with Doctor Fisher in hopes of getting a chance to comfort the distressed woman, who continued to shake uncontrollably while also hugging a teddy bear. After sitting down next to Milly, Shinoa draped the blanket over them both hoping that it would get her to somewhat calm down. "Shhhhh, its okay." Shinoa took her shot at hopefully calming the younger woman down. The young mother proceeded to gently grab her wrist in order to place her hand on the belly. "I know you're really scared right now, so I'll make an exception. Can you feel the baby kicking?" Shinoa proceeded to give her a warm smile as the baby started fidgeting. "Oh and...its a little girl."

She then looked over in time to see one of the injured survivors getting his knee popped back into its socket. The sickening crack made the young mother cringe as it hurt just thinking about it. Hopefully soon everyone in the lodge would calm down. If anything, Shinoa did certainly feel like she was around a bunch of hot-headed alcoholics, though so far she has only witnessed maybe two people drinking so openly. Most alcoholics would drink in private while wallowing in their own self-hatred and pity. Her attention then turned back to Milly after witnessing the mini-surgery before her, wanting the younger woman to calm down. "If you want, you can listen to the baby." Shinoa offered.

Neckbeard Katana 2.jpg

In a matter of a few minutes, the situation Michael found himself in went from bad to fucking worse. He went from having a drunk woman pointing a gun at his head, to a man also holding a knife at his neck and a total of 6 people surrounding him, some of whom seemed to be unsuccessfully trying to defuse the situation. Other people were threatening him. ¨Maybe I can run the hell out of here… no, that option is out of the question, maybe I can do something with my Kata… goddammit¨ The heavy man thought, just as the red-haired woman took his sword away from him.

Almost shitting his pants now, he decided to finally answer their questions ¨I… I'm Michael Schmidt¨ He finally was able to speak again ¨How did I find this place?... well I´ll be honest, it was by pure luck. I was running low on food at my home, so I decided to get out to scavenge for more. Moments after I left I saw some zombies near my home so I… killed them yes that´s right, I killed them with ease¨ The neckbeard lied in a not very convincing way ¨Anyway… a bigger group came from basically out of nowhere and I had to escape through the sewers. It took me hours to find the exit, and when I finally did, I was in the effin woods!. I kept walking until I heard voices at the distance and well, here we are now ¨.

An Unlikely StoryYes, Brian played Videogames in his free-time, hence the Assassin's Creed reference. However, now was not the time to be thinking about what to do on his day off. When he claimed to have slain zombies on the way to the lodge, Brian found it hard to believe. Unlike half the group that he was with, it was impossible for this man to have received any formal training. Sure, there were some ex-servicemen and women that he has met who let themselves go after exiting the military, but to go around with a Made In China Katana? No...There's no way. But how the hell did even manage to get into the sewers? Better question, how the fuck did he even get out? When the drunk woman told him to back off, he only gave her a dirty look. It was clear that she had way too much to drink before this confrontation. Alcohol and guns don't exactly mix. "Um...No, you don't got this...You clearly have too much alcohol in your system." He called the woman out.

Once the man, Michael, explained himself, Brian only continued to give him the death stare, still not trusting him. "As unlikely as your story is, I believe you." With the flick of his wrist, the blade retracted back into his sleeve. Brian then folded his arms. "Now...Going through sewers, yeah. I'm actually shocked you didn't starve to death in there. And they're usually locked pretty tight, so I'm surprised you even managed to get out. But I'm doubtful you managed to kill the zombies. Not with that sword." He peered at the Katana. "That bootleg-ass sword would have broken with the first slash." He said, eyes still sharp. Brian then proceeded to take a few steps back, not wanting to be in Soldier Girl's line of fire. "So...Anyone else believe him?" Brian asked, looking at the other survivors.

Colt’s green and bloodshot eyes glared from side to side, she was honestly contemplating simply shooting the man and getting this over with. She had enough of all of this shit and just wanted it to be over! She listened as both the likes of Jenna and Brian tried to then assure Colt that she could leave him be. That, and he explained himself how he got there just as she had demanded of him. Though, she honestly did not believe him. It simply did not sit well with her and seemed to convenient that he just happened to show up like this as they got back. And killing zombies was just a complete lie.

She finally looked at Brian as he seemed to back down, saying he believed that his story was true. Colt saw that she had lost her backup. Typically, this meant nothing, Colt could stand tall on her own two feet. But right now? If she actually did shoot Michael, she was at least competent enough to know that doing so would cause a huge rift in the group. With a reluctant sigh, the woman lowered her weapon and glanced down. She turned to walk away but not before pointing her finger at the neckbeard like a pistol.

Watch ‘im.” She growled at the others before finally heading through into the lodge. She ignored everyone there and went into her rucksack, taking out a bottle of red wine she had nicked from her apartment. While not a huge fan of the stuff, she was looking for something other than whisky. As she was about to head into a room herself, she heard voices from the back of the lodge. Andy and Luca. Colt sighed heavily and rubbed the back of her neck. She did want to approach them. But… Andy would be upset with her for allowing Owen to leave. And she got Luca the wrong cigarettes. She shook her head, no, she was being stupid. There was nothing wrong with talking to them, surely.

With a huff, she opened the back door, looking down at the pair. They seemed to have alcohol of their own. Colt raised a hand to give them a half-hearted wave, “Don’ mind me.” She said, trying to keep her words straight, “Jus’ need air.” She sat down, a little further away from the pair, holding the bottle between her knees and, for a while at least simply staring ahead at the woods. She finally opened the bottle and took a long gulp from it before finally acknowledging the pair.

Well… this day went peachy.” She sighed, mostly to herself, unable to keep a coherent thought in her head.

Milly looked at Ralph as he questioned if the cause of her pain was just hunger. She blinked and stared at the ground for a moment, guessing that was it. It just really, really hurt. She sniffed slightly as she finally plucked up enough courage to finally answer the man.

Yes,” she responded in a soft, rather downtrodden tone, “I’m hungry,” she added, not wanting to push the matter. It didn’t feel right. From what she knew, she was not supposed to complain to people about things. They had their own worries. She wasn’t to add to them. But he had asked a question so she answered it. Still, it did not help her relax.

Milly was too caught up in her own thoughts to not realise that the blanket had been draped over her. The girl jumped with a squeak and almost jumped away when the pregnant woman, Shiona gently shushed her in a tone like honey. Milly couldn’t stop shaking despite the sudden heat. When the woman gently grabbed her thin wrist, Milly let out a scared squeak and weakly attempted to pull her wrist away but stopped as soon as it was gently placed on her bump.

The youngster instantly stopped struggling as she then felt the subtle movements of the baby inside her. It was a strange feeling. Milly tilted her head pretty far to the left, like a curious bird. She blinked softly a few times as she simply felt the baby, only glancing up for a second as Shiona then mentioned the baby’s gender.
Do you… have a name for her?” she asked slowly, she then looked at her white bear, playing with its nose a little, “Her name’s Snowy.” She said, giving the girl a slight smile, though she tried to hide her grey and blind eye using her hood. At this point, she was very afraid of accidentally upsetting the woman and did not want to press the wrong buttons. But as she felt like she was about to calm down a little, the sudden sound of bones cracking almost made her jump out of her skin. With a quiet squeal, she buried her face into her teddy. She would have probably run away if she could but the mix of the warmth of the blanket, her bear and Shiona’s presence helped her to stay sane. It reminded her a lot of being back home. Though she still had tears leaking from her eyes she had just accepted that was not going to stop.

Milly looked back to the lady as she offered to let her listen too. She could? After giving the woman one more questioning look for confirmation she gently put her ear onto her bump to listen. After a few moments, she heard the sound of what could be described as a muffled heartbeat. She was not quite expecting this, she raised her head to look at Shiona, giving her a genuinely bewildered but excited look. She hadn’t heard a baby’s heartbeat before. She wanted to listen again, but she was worried about upsetting her. She stayed under the blanket alongside her, holding her bear close against her stomach.

"Th-thank you," she said quietly.

Doctor Ralph Fisher and Jenna: The Lodge

Ralph smiled as Shinoa and Milly started to talk. Despite Milly's anxiety, she seemed to be opening up a tiny bit to the girl. The poor child had be frightened out of her mind. If the day's events had frightened Ralph, he wondered about the effects it would have on a kid. If she made it out of the city in one piece, there'd be a lifetime of therapy to say the least.

"I'll be right back." He told Milly.
Standing up from the chair, Ralph started to look around the lodge for food. There had to be something.
EA-007-800x800.jpg

"I believe him."
Well, not about everything. There was no way he'd killed anything with the katana, but the rest of it seemed to hold up. If he was lying to gain access to the lodge, he would have left out the part about killing any zombies in order to look weak and helpless in front of the other survivors. Colt walked away, getting some air and that made Jenna quietly sigh with relief.

Michael wasn't going to get shot.
"You didn't kill any zombies, did you?" Jenna asked "Be honest, Michael."

Family? It was true they had spent a lot of time together growing up. She couldn’t remember a birthday or holiday party that Luca hadn’t attended but then suddenly he just wasn’t around anymore. She always figured that as he got older he got tired of hanging out with a couple of kids and moved on. Owen of course, had stayed in contact with him longer than she had, the two had always been closer, but even they had split eventually. What right did he have to call her family? And yet, he must feel that way because why else would he save her life? Luca didn’t seem the type to say things he didn’t mean.

His statement about her eyes confused her. It was true, they were one of her more striking features. Every drunk idiot at the bar felt the need to tell her so. Still, it had been at least eight years since she had even seen Luca, maybe longer. There was no way her eyes had that much of an impact on him. Maybe it was just because they were the same as Owen's. After all, the twins were known for their bright red hair and the contrasting green eyes.

“Well thanks.” It sounded dumb coming out of her mouth, but she stumbled through the apology regardless. “You know, for helping me. I think I forgot to say it earlier.” She put her hands in the front pocket of her jacket, pulling her knees closer to her for warmth.

49326559_357454225067120_553865736813019136_n.pngThe silence between the two spoke volumes. It wasn’t as though Luca had normally made it a habit to force conversation. Usually he did his best to avoid it. The sound of the wind whipping through the trees was the only thing to accompany the pause; the very same gust of air that danced around the house and forced the man’s hair to blow around haphazardly, along with the slack of his clothes. It must have been around sixty degrees outside, but that was being generous at best. The cigarette had been completely burnt down to the filter when Luca removed it from his lips and placed it in a cup that he had used hours earlier for coffee. This was now the forever front porch ashtray.

Luca brought the bottle up to his lips once more. It was important that he continued keeping watch, but after sitting around for hours on end without anything to do, the man felt the need to let loose. There hadn’t been a single resemblance of another life form around the area let alone a feasible threat. He had not seen any animals, other humans, nor zombies come across the fairly well-hidden lodge. Andy and Owen were right. The longer that he sat around outside waiting for something exciting to happen, the more he realized that it was the perfect place to stay for the time being. Besides, having no excitement was the best possible outcome to the day.

“I remember one time I went out with Owen.” He offered the bottle of alcohol back to Andy by means of placing it on the wooden floor panel that had separated them. “We went to a club and I got jumped. I for sure thought Owen was going to run. At the time, I was nineteen. He must have been around fifteen, or something. He stuck around, though. Helped me fight off three guys that were double his size. Shit, as a kid, he was completely fearless. Even when we stopped talking, he never faded away. I know first hand, he’s been running around doing stupid shit his whole life up until about twenty four hours ago. My men used to call him ‘La Blatta’. It means cockroach. Each time he got his ass beat, he always stood back up. ”

5627cc75deae73d31b7576b8_56face87278c93c542ceac19_320.jpgA sarcastic laugh escaped her lips, her head was swimming from the continuous shots of rum that she had been ingesting. Her cheekbones were flush and pink in the porch light. Shamrock eyes glossed over, glazing with her intoxication. She knew that she should probably slow down, but didn’t heed her own advice. With another drink, the girl sat the bottle back down between them. What did it matter if she got shit faced? There was nothing else to do but sit on this porch, drink and worry about her brother.

Owen would always be Owen, selfless to a fault and always putting others needs above himself. It wasn't touching, like she assumed he thought it should be. It was infuriating. She wasn't sure where he had gotten it in his head that she was more important than him but it frustrated her to no end. Did it he understand that she loved him too? Andy wanted the best for her brother as badly as he wanted it for her and by putting her on some pedestal he took her feelings totally for granted.

“Yeah, he's quite the martyr.” She spoke matter of factly, with no maliciousness in her tone. With a sigh she ran her fingers through her hair, a nervous tick she had when she was deep in thought. All of the scholarships in the world meant nothing when gunman wanted you dead. Realistically, his choices had made him way better suited for life now than her’s did.

“He loved you.” Owen had never explained to Andy where Luca had gone, or why they had quit talking. So much of his life became private to her when he be dropped out of school. It was apparent to her now that the two had remained in contact much longer than she had, but something had obviously happened. The first time she had heard Owen even speak about him in years had been just yesterday.

“If he's not back tomorrow, will you go with me to find him?” Andy knew that she wasn't much of a rescue party on her own, but she also knew that she wouldn't hesitate to try to find him if she was left with no other choice. This had been her entire reason for coming out here in the first place. It wasn't her style to ask people for help, but Owen would come first and if she was being honest there was no one else she would trust to keep her safe.

Luca brought the butt of the cigarette up to his lips, taking a drag. The burning combination of paper and tobacco had neared the filter but there had still been some left. For a moment, the man remained silent. His eyes kept fixated on the wood underneath his sitting form. When push came to shove, did he really want to tell Andy that he would go - and be forced to keep his word in the morning? Intoxicated as he was, Luca knew that not picking the smarter of the two options would be something that he would regret once he had reached a sober state of mind.

On one hand, he could stay back where it was safe. Sure, he would have to deal with the others but their existence could potentially be beneficial to him. He wouldn’t be forced to try to save someone who hated his guts and he could continue resting. The cost this came with was letting Andy go out by herself, with just her bow. In the end, she might potentially never come back. The same could be said with Owen. If Luca decided to go things would be different. At least he could guarantee her safety, but it would come at the cost of letting the people at the lodge fend for themselves. All over one man.

The gangster nodded slowly, before turning to look at Andy. His voice was hushed.

“Yeah, kid. I’ll go with you to find him, but he’s coming home first.”

Regardless of how the supply run went, Luca knew he could trust the others whom had actual backgrounds in the service and war to lead in his absence. They were responsible to do what needed to be done. The man took a moment to place the burnt-out cigarette butt into the cup that had been gathering his stockpile over the past few hours. Andy needed him more. If he didn’t go with her, she would still go by herself. That was her sense of loyalty. It ran parallel to Luca’s own.

It was at this moment that Colt had walked out and made her presence known. The hysteria regarding the overweight stranger had died down. Initially, the man was put back by Colt talking a seat on the opposite side of him. She had been busy looking out towards the woods after taking her seat, though. Luca knew because he was staring at the side of her head the entire time, wondering why the hell she would want to converse with him. She sarcastically mentioned how her day had gone. The Italian kept relatively quiet, turning his head to look over at Andy before redirecting his attention to the driveway and taking another sip of the bottle he was holding. It was running low on juice. At this point, Luca was more intoxicated than he was letting on.

“... Better day than yesterday. For us. Same will go for tomorrow.”

She had migrated to the kitchen when she was done, wondering what to do for dinner, and had decided on two frozen pizzas she found. Each one cut in eight slices would make 16, but with all the new mouths to feed, she wasn't actually sure that would be enough. Of course, not everyone would eat, and not everyone would want, well, some weird cheese pizza. The lodge having a generator was something they would surely take for granted here in the beginning, but with cell service and Wi-Fi being off, how long until the power and water were cut off everywhere else? Leliana sighed, setting the timer on the stove, before turning and making her way back into the living room. Shinoa was trying to get the terrified girl to calm down, which made Leliana sighed a little. "I guess I owe the two of you an apology. Ivan will to, but..." She glanced overlay the man laying on the other couch, then back to the other girls, "He can do that when he wakes up I guess. I would have done that somewhere else, but you can't go upstairs with a dislocated knee," She chuckled, taking a seat on the floor.

"I put some pizza on, they should be ready in a little bit," Leliana told them, "I hope it's enough for everyone. Oh, and we'll have to figure out where everyone is going to be sleeping. Shinoa, if you don't mind sharing with two other people, not to mention sharing a bed I guess, you can share with me and Colt. The loud, alcoholic one covered in blood who is still outside. Unless stairs are too much for you?" She asked, before looking to Milly, giving her a kind smile. "I know I didn't tell you my name, it's Leliana." She looked like a kid, she probably was just a kid. God, everything that she must have gone through these past two days must have been a nightmare, and now she's surrounded by strangers. And one of those strangers just shoved a man's legs back together which probably wasn't fun to watch. "Were you hurt? I'm a nurse...sort of. I can take a look if you want me to."

At first she felt a bit concerned that the colt lady would still shoot the guy even if he was weaponless but then she gave up after the rest put down their guns. Rouge walked up to the guy, michael , and Jenna. Her mouth quirked as Jenna commented on how she didn’t believe that he killed zombies. Rouge held the sheath up and slid out the blade halfway. She looked to see bits of dried blood

“.......” well at least he wasn’t lying. But the blade itself was slightly warped suggesting that he probably just whacked them with it until they stopped moving. She was a bit surprised that the blade hasn’t broken yet, let alone had cracks on the blade. She retied the string on it and put it over her back giving no indication that she was going to give it back.

“Ill keep hold of this until they trust you.” she took another look over him. The bottom of his pants and shoes were a questionably dark brown color, probably from the sewers he mentioned. He also smelled pretty bad as well.

“Hope you brought a change of clothes…... I don’t think their gonna let you in the house with you being covered in sewer waste. Some of us are covered in blood but that doesn’t stink up the house…..” ?Rouge actually started to wonder if there was running water or a river nearby.

“.....hey jenna…..do the showers work here……...wait, I don’t even have my own clothes as well……” her ears turned a bit pink even if her face was blank.

It didn't take him long to locate the kitchen, finding two pizzas in the oven. Had the hazmats kept the power on? If the phone lines and internet were down it was surprising that the power was still active. There was a chance they kept it on as they needed it for their operation but in that case, why keep it operational for the entire city instead of restricting it to what they needed?
There was always the possibility that they thought it would be a quick and simple operation and wouldn't need to shut off the power at all, just cut off contact from the rest of the world.

He found the packets for the pizzas, ensuring that they weren't out of date and made his way back into the main room.

As he listened in on the conversation, he realised that lodge seemed like the best place for Shinoa, almost. They had two nurses and a doctor as well as ex-military to defend the place should it come under attack from the hosts or the hazmat troopers.

Sort of.
He wondered what she meant by that. Was she still in training when the outbreak started or maybe she was some kind of a nurse's assistant. Either way, it was a good thing for Shiona and the baby inside of her as well as the other survivors. Any wound could become a death sentence. Sure, he knew the parasite was airborne but getting infected blood in any cut would lead to an infection.

"You're a nurse?" Ralph asked Leliana

EA-007-800x800.jpg

"I haven't checked the building out." Jenna shrugged "I mean, I assume. Even if the water's a bit cold, it's better than smelling like actual shit."
She glanced over at Michael "Still, going through the sewers was probably smarter than staying on the streets. How would one of these zombies even get down there?"
It was as if a lightbulb shined above her head.
"The sewers, where do they lead? If we go in ourselves there's always a chance of skipping town. Sure, the hazzies have blocked the roads but are they really expecting someone to crawl through a river full of shit like Andy Dufresne?"
A smile crept across the young woman's face.

"Michael. You've been in the sewers. Do you know where they lead to?"

There was little chance of her emerging clean on the other side like Tim Robbins but being covered in excrement was a far better alternative to being shot, eaten alive or returning as an actual zombie. If it was possible, she'd take her chances. The outside world had to know the truth and Jenna refused to die.

¨Damn, I almost fucked it up¨ Michael said to himself, It was almost a miracle that after explaining everything he had done before reaching the lodge everyone involved seemed to calm down. He was also happy that the man with the knife believed him, although the drunk woman looked rather annoyed that she lost what appeared to be her only backup.

Michael had almost fully calmed down before a familiar looking woman told him to be honest about the zombies ¨y… Yeah, of course, I killed them!... Alright, it may have been only 2 of them… and yeah they were mostly crippled but I killed them and that´s what matters¨ he finally answered honestly ¨I tried to kill them with my gun before, but I failed most of my shots¨ he pointed where he had his gun ¨Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you I have a gun, but it has no ammo so… yeah¨ he decided to tell the group, because if they found out in any other way that he had a gun this whole time they may not go so easy on him.

He tries to grab his Katana back, but the red-haired woman refused to do so. After explaining to him that she will hold it until the group trusts more in him, he reluctantly accepts too it. ¨I do indeed have extra clothing¨ He decided to answer her, he knew he smelled like shit due to the sewers and wanted to get rid of the smell as well.

The strangely familiar looking woman now asks him if he knows how to guide himself in the sewers ¨Well, i don't really know my way in there M´dame¨ he tells her ¨But I drew my path on this paper, so I would not get lost in there¨ he takes the paper out of his backpack and hands it to the woman ¨As you may see, this is every place I went while in there… although I would not recommend entering it. Before I managed to find the exit I was able to hear those creatures. So it´s possible that they already found a way in¨.

RestingWhen Milly's ear pressed against her stomach, Shinoa relaxed so that the girl could listen to the unborn baby's heartbeats. Afterwards, the panicky mood seemed to have disappeared, but the poor girl must be starving. In that moment, Shinoa's stomach growled a little. At the mention of pizza, she smiled a little. Hopefully she would have a little bit to eat before bed. Even if she was tired, she was a little hungry. She did have a few things in her bag, which were probably still in the van. As she started rubbing her belly, they were approached by Lelianna. The woman apologized for the fact that they had to see a knee being popped back into place. At least Ivan didn't scream or anything. If he did, her water would probably break and she'd be in labor by now. So thankfully, he didn't. Right now, Shinoa wasn't sure if she was ready to give birth. She was also more scared of that then dying or succumbing the parasite that currently plagued their town. Lelianna then talked about sleeping arrangements

With the amount of people in the Lodge, sharing a bed was mandatory. Depending on how arrangements went anyway. Shinoa nodded with Lelianna suggested that she could share a bed with her and Colt, the bloodied woman who had been shouting outside. "The stairs won't be too much, I'll just need help getting up there. A-Are you sure all four of us will fit on a bed?" She asked, feeling unsure.

Normally, Shinoa wouldn't mind sharing a bed. But now the only thing she was worried about was violating one of the other women...with her belly...in their sleep. And with how hot-headed Colt was, the thought of it made Shinoa nervous. As she relaxed, the young mother just started caressing her belly, hoping to get her unborn baby to stop fidgeting.

Threat AvertedOnce the situation with Michael was dealt with, Brian just took a few steps back as the man smelt horrible. Whether it was the fact he was in the sewers or it was really, really, really bad body odor, Brian didn't want to know. But nonetheless, he'd take this over the Hazmat Soldiers at the Motel. Leaving Michael to speak with Jenna, the purple-haired woman, Brian went back towards the front porch. Now that they were away from Aurora, they needed away to truly escape, get away from the outbreak. As far as he was concerned, no one was bitten or in any way infected. But this needed to go public. After contemplating on what to do next, Brian simply walked back into the Lodge and towards the Dining Area and would sit down on one of the chairs. He took off his Jacket, revealing a shoulder holstered gun and the wrist blade that was initially hidden. He removed the Wrist Blade and placed it on the table as he rolled up his sleeves, revealing a luxurious silver watch on his left wrist. Interlocking his fingers, he began staring at the blade for a couple of minutes after unlocking it by shaking it. He had killed many people with this weapon. From Political Figures, Military Commanders...Soldiers, Rogue Law Enforcement Agents...basically anyone who was a threat to the United States. One thing was for sure, he had a lot of blood on his hands. And that very blade...spilled a very large majority of it. Shaking the Blade, it soon retracted before he had placed it into his jacket pocket. After that, Brian just sat there, contemplating on what to do next. The secret of him being a CIA Agent wasn't going to keep long, so how was he going to go about it? Hiding it from everyone there...Just made him feel horrible. Sure, he may have been a human weapon for most of his adult life, but Brian did well to remember that he was still a human being at the end of the day. He wasn't just some...emotionless highly-trained assassin that the CIA trained him to be. Maybe he would have been better taking that opportunity to be in the NFL...he'd probably be playing for the Seattle Seahawks or something by now...maybe be their top Running Back. Well, too late now.

As he scratched the back of his head, he looked over at the girls in the Living Room. Aside from pondering on his past, he looked towards Shinoa. The fact that a pregnant girl was with them had him worried. A crying infant was going to be tough to care for in the situation they were currently in.
