Character Sheet Link: Benson Anhelada

Backstory:
Benson Anhelada has pale white skin that looks like it is made out of compressed snow. His dark gray hair hangs down into his face, nearly to his collar. Once, you would have found Benson wearing his vestments with stars and suns, preaching sermons and conducting religious rites, but not lately. The cleric suffers an internal struggle when he needs to perform in the capacity of his religion, conflicted by the fallibility of the church, and even of the gods themselves. The life he’s lived has been a tough one, and if you look you can see it in his light blue eyes.
Benson’s father died when he was 5 years old. He grew up with his mother and younger brother in a medium-sized farming village in the frozen northern settlement Sossal. Not long after his father’s death (at least in Benson’s eyes) his mother began a romance with an elf from far away in Faerun. The man left to return to live with his kind, and Benson’s mother was heartbroken. Just after Benson’s 13th birthday, she pursued the elf to Evermeet to try to settle with him.
Benson and Gregor went to live in their great aunt and uncle’s orphanage in the trade city of Naupau. There was a perception that the brothers would receive preferential treatment for being blood-relatives, and this meant that they were largely shunned by their family and the rest of the children in the orphanage. Adjusting to life in the orphanage was hard, and Benson did his best to protect his brother Gregor. The orphanage provided Benson and Gregor with an introduction to religion and pious cleanliness rituals.
After leaving the orphanage as young adults, Benson and Gregor came into the service of a sect called The Eye of Justice, which held the belief that the gods Torm, Helm and Tyr combined into one god. They served the church with some distinction, and often went on evangelical missions to spread their theology. Most churches consider the Threefold God doctrine to be heresy, and they often had to defend themselves against zealous officers of the other churches.
When they discovered that the church in Naupau was condoning or even facilitating deals between humans and demonkind, the brothers disagreed on how to deal with the threat. Benson stayed to try to fight the corruption and restore the church, while Gregor left the church to become a mercenary. Several fights and arguments broke out, and eventually it was discovered that Benson knew too much, and Benson was exiled from the church for trying to purge corruption. He has spent the last two years wandering far and wide without the chance to return to his homeland.
Information that Benson would not share with any but his closest friends: Briefly, Benson had a fling with a half-elf named Elina Quintend and considered setting up a permanent home together. One night, Elina told Benson that she had been keeping a secret from him, and that they would discuss it that night, but when he returned she was nowhere to be found. Benson never knew if she was taken or ran away. After his sole close connection, Benson resumed wandering.
