Character sheet: Druid

Backstory:

Syvis began her life like any other elf born into a druidic tribe -- studying the motion of nature over time, the rise and fall of the seasons, life and death through its eternal cycles, how each stage leads into the next.

Yet from a young age, a specific part of nature seemed to call to her most -- that of the animals. Even among her tribe she could seem to connect with them far better than fellow elves around her and it was not long before she had a small army of squirrels, chipmunks and similar bringing her trinkets and items in exchange for food, even claiming to some they brought her news and secrets they collected. Typically shrugged off as the imagination of a young child, it was met with more disbelief when she became older and nearly considered an adult amongst elves, until she eventually stopped telling others of what the animals would tell her. Though druids were known for being able to speak with creatures, none of her mentors would believe her when she said she didn't require spells or magic to do so.

Overtime she began to travel with animals more and more, leaving her tribe and their village for longer periods of time -- wandering the nearby woods and grasslands, forests and prairies -- finding herself able to mimic the creatures whose forms she learned to take on even as an elf, however she learned it the hard way. Having returned from one such journey, she was still on edge and in the mindset of having to be cautious at all times, only for someone to tap her shoulder -- intending to welcome her back, instead finding themselves slashed from the claws she had grown in the moment, leaving acidic scars across their chest.

Even after healing the wound and mumbling an apology, she was pulled aside by one of the elders and informed her behavior over the years had concerned the others -- she seemed more kin to the animals than her fellow druids. As it was, perhaps it would be better for her to find her own path in the world. Numbly agreeing she packed her items -- the leather armor she'd pieced together over the years, her shortbow, dagger, crude pack, traveling staff and hunting trap she'd often used for food. As a parting gift, the tribe gave her a few gold -- currency they told her, for use in villages -- though she'd yet to use it herself. Her parents gave her a small totem they had carved for her as a traveling guide which consisted of three animals. A bear for strength and resilience, the hawk for clarity and quickness, and finally a mythical unicorn for purity and protection.

With a final heartfelt farewell, Syvis took the form of a wolf and began her journey, unsure of where she'd end up, but over the years found many families amongst the animals until she would move on once more, strange dreams haunting her at night, but always forgotten in the morning ...
