Futuristic Paradise City Chronicles

Next time Alex woke up he was in a large empty space, probably a warehouse. Of course, the SOCOM couldn't risk Alex being tracked, so he wasn't taken to their headquarters yet... So they tied him to a chair, and made it so he gets an electric shock when he tries to move.

Max was standing in front of Alex, dressed in a suit. He didn't really took on Alex's style, he gave his own twist on it.
"You see it, Brother?" He popped the same half smile Alex did most of the time. "The difference between you and me, is I make this look good." He then walked away, flipping his hand in a "rally up" sign.

Eclipse came out of the shadow and walked over to Alex. She knelt in front of him and placed her hands on his tights. "Now something is going to happen that will hurt you less if you don't resist. We are going to erase your memories. But the process has a side effect. You basically forget everything..." She turned dark with a twisted smile. "Even how to breathe. And I am gonna watch as you suffer, gasping for air."

She got up and made a sign to 2 generic agent guys to bring the device, which looked like something out of the set of a porn movie.

She got the device and aimed it at Alex. A red light snapped and Alex froze, as if he got stung. "I didn't feel anything..." He mumbled, then the electric shocks hit, causing him to scream in agony. "Oh, I forgot to set it up, I actually didn't erase anything." She started fiddling with the settings. Alex jumped along with the chair and hit Eclipse, as the electricity ran through his body. Now, his power of the electric eel gave him enough immunity to electricity to be able to hold his own.

Thankfully the chair broke and he was free. "Hugh, that was super easy, barely an inconvenience!" The agents immediately opened fire, but Alex's skin became the skin of an armadillo, and deflected the bullets. He walked over and picked them up and slammed them into each other, throwing hem aside for now. He turned his attention to Eclipse. It was now time for a serious boss fight.

Alex didn't even change into Helix. He didn't need a mask for this. They already knew, and focusing on the suit would just break his concentration. Eclipse got up and dusted herself, as Alex had sparks running across his arms. "Bring it on, necktie!" She raised her fists.

Crow fell onto his sofa, completely drained after his night of activity "God! Now I remember why I have minions to do this kind of thing for me." In truth, Crow couldn't remember the last time he had needed to do manual labour, but he still loathed the fact he had to do it, he even added it to a list of offences that he and Alex were going to be having a long and shouty talk about if they both survived this mess.

The villain then gave a heavy sigh as he realised he still had work to do. He proceeded to press a button on his remote control and an image of Becky appeared on the screen, her monotone voice immediately entering the room "Hi Boss, i assume this is about what happened to Alex Mercer last night. I've already contacted the Syndicate to see if they have any records of this 'SOCOM', though it may take a while to get any reply, gotta love villain bureaucracy." Crow nodded in agreement "Sure do. Aside from that though I did get a name, or at least alias, she called herself Eclipse Nightwitch, see if you can find anything on her." The sound of typing could be heard as Becky made a note of it "Will do Boss. I'll also be sending over some minions to set up some additional defences." By this point in time, the blond had already fallen back to the sofa and just gave a lazy thumbs up "Oh by the way boss. Your... Brother has been wanting to speed with you." Crow lifted his head up a bit to look at Becky "Which one?" Becky paused for a moment as if pondering if to say anything or not before answering "...Archibald, Boss." The blond sat back up and stared Becky in the eye, a look of anger on his face "Tell my snake of an older brother to piss off. I don't have time for his crap today, or any day for that matter!" The secretary remained silent for a few moments before nodding "Sure thing Boss." before the image left the screen and Crow let sleep embrace him.

Meanwhile at SOCOM HQ.

Blackhand, the leader was briefing some new guys. He always did that himself, as it gave him the feeling of importance, as opposed to just sitting behind a screen, giving commands, which was much more important, but well, we can't always be serious.

"Special Operations COMmand is not like the amateurs at the hero association. We monitor and control the hero/villain population and intervene if need be. I expect nothing but professionalism from you." It was as if he was Exposition Man from the hero organization. "You will be armed with cutting age technology, starting with the suits you wear. Each and every suit is equipped with stealth capabilities, and will boost your speed and strength. Your weapons fire programmable ammo, everything from sleep to kill. Each weapon you get assigned will only fire from your hand, thanks to MTech genetic locks."

Meanwhile at the warehouse.

"Daggers of Denak!" Eclipse yelled, as yellow light formed several knives behind her, which shot towards Alex. He in turn raised his left arm and all the armadillo skin moved towards it and formed a shield, which the daggers hit, going through, but not reaching Alex. The shield disappeared, and he looked at his opponent, trying to judge her and her abilities. She seemed to be on a higher level than Jade, but still her magic was to use energy weapons. As long as he could dodge or block, he was going to be fine. But he would have to turn the fight to the offense. He still had to figure that part, as his attacks were... Well, inefficient. At least against magic.

Eclipse on the other hand was still trying to test Alex and see the extent of his power, as he was clearly holding back. All the files they had was of him acting goofy as a superhero, and now he was showing just enough. "I am just getting started!" She waved her hands. "Book of Vishanti!" A book appeared in front of her, and she raised her right hand in front of the book. A large circle bellow Alex started glowing. "Ah, shit!" Was the only thing he barely got to think as a violent electrical tornado erupted, taking him for a supercharged ride. He fell on the ground hard, and despite having regenerative abilities and some extent of immunity to electricity, he could still feel the pain.

Since Crow was asleep during the day he was likely to miss the work day. This would allow Max to quietly take over without much resistance. Or so he thought.

He went to Alex's apartment first, so he could clean up. It wasn't much, but there were still signs of struggle. Also, Max couldn't find Alex's security ID or his phone, which caused him to be suspicious.

He immediately contacted Eclipse. "A little busy here!" She said with irk in her voice. She walked over to Alex and stepped on his head as she frisked him. "No phone or badge!" She replied. It took her a moment to look away and Alex was gone.

Alex transformed into a mouse and did like one - got the fuck away, just to find out he was in a warehouse on an island, God knows where. He closed his eyes and focused. He had bird DNA, he could turn into a bird, but without knowing his current position, it was impossible to escape.

Crow was awakened by the sound of voices coming from Alex's home and immediately recognised it as the voice of Max, after all, you tend not to forget the voice of someone who tries to kill you. A devious idea to rub salt into the currently non-existent wound came to mind along with a devious smile on his face as he grabbed Alex's pass and phone, which he no longer needed since he had extrapolated all relevant information from it.

Though still horribly tired Crow opened his door and leaned in the door frame smirking at Max, twirling Alex's pass and phone in his hand "Hey there Maxxy-boy. You looking for something? I may be able to help if you're willing to talk things over instead of trying to kill me."

One could actually hear a crack as Max's nerves snap. Like physically hear the snap, followed by a boiling kettle. And much like the guy in Alvin in the Chipmunks, his yell was "Crooooooooooow!" As he ran out of the apartment and straight for Crow's Door. His intentions were clear as... I don't know an analogy, fuck this shit, pretty clear I guess, considering his arms were metal again. "No talk! Max smash!" He couldn't even talk straight, that's how pissed off he was by this thorn in his foot.

Alex on the other hand was running out of time. He decided to just chance it and turned into a hawk, as he flew away. It wasn't long, before he could see a large body of land on the horizon, which he could recognize as Macedonian Peninsula, Greece. So the island was somewhere in the Aegean Sea... Who knew... So his next objective was to go halfway across the world, with no funds, no ID, and covered in bloody clothes.... That would be fun...

Crow was taken back by Max's actions "Damn! I know a lot of supervillains, but you're more psychopathic than any of them... well maybe not Doc Crazy, but that's kind of his thing." The blond then chucked Alex's phone and pass in the general direction of the evil twin before slamming the door shut "Well there you go. I wanted to have a nice chat, but since you're not in the mood I guess I'll call it quits. Oh! And don't bother trying to break the door down, it's solid wood, I doubt you'll be able to get through."

Crow then began equipping his suit and grabbing some things in case Maximillon realised wood wasn't a super strong material. That being said, even if Max left, Crow was still preparing to make a quick exit, he didn't want to be around when Max saw what he did. A bright idea then came to the villain's mind as he hid all of Alex's stuff under a white tar, and he pressed the button on the remote control and Becky appeared on the screen "Hey Boss, what do y-" Unfortunately for the secretary, she was bombarded my Crow's frantic voice "No time! If anyone smashed through that door, distract them!"

Max frowned. Crow clearly provoked him. He was obviously planning something behind the door, probably a trap. This is why Max decided to use his helmet and visor, switching to infrared, and looking around. All he saw was regular apartment stuff, and no traps behind the door. Alright, fingers crossed.

He stepped back a little and prepared the kick the door in. Now, it would have been hilarious if someone was to open the door at this exact moment, since Max not only gathered enough momentum to kick the door all the way across the apartment, he decided to put extra force on it, just in case Crow lied and the door wasn't actually wood. And the way he decided to do it? Run full speed towards and jump kick it in the last moment. Also, his actions were accompanied by the mandatory angry yelling of the first letter of the Alphabet.

Crow realised that when he came home earlier after his busy night of sabotage that he must have left his key in the door, don't you just hate it when that happens? Well any sane person would forget about the key when there was a psychopathic super strong guy at your door, however, have you ever taken into account the time you'd waste after you were safe, I mean you'd have to replace the lock if the key was taken, and that's not including replacing anything that was stolen, and currently there was a lot of valuable stuff in that house.

The blond villain then made his way to his front door after opening his balcony windows in case he had to make a quick escape. The first thing he saw when he did this was Max, charging at full speed towards him, so with priorities in mind, Crow grabbed the key from the door first before diving back into his apartment to hopefully again this discount juggernaut from breaking every bone in his body.

Maximilian's angry first letter yell turned into a surprised first letter yell, followed by yell, that was gradually decreasing, much like an ambulance siren when it drives past you. In the same manner Max flew right through the opened front door, and through the apartment and out the emergency exit, known as window.

Falling down, he managed to control his descent by deploying his socom uniform, and ended up doing a perfect landing, as passers by stopped and applaud, while others held large signs with the letter 10, before continuing on their way. Max quickly recalled his SOCOM uniform, which retracted into his ring. Gotta love technology. He looked up, and took a deep breath. It was a long way up. And the elevator was busted from the day before. He was going to have to take the stairs, which would take a good half hour.

Once he had got all his things up together, Crow turned off the screen before Becky could yell at him for wasting her time, she was really scary when she was mad, and began thinking about where he could go. It was rather unfortunate that the villain didn't really have any friend, meaning his only option was to go visit Euphemia, yes a majority of her sisters hated him, but Euphemia vouched for him and that's what mattered.

The blond then began to head out of the house, making sure to hide the stuff he'd stolen from MercerTech behind conveniently shaped lamps and taking a quarter of an hour to ponder why he had so many massive conveniently shaped lamps. Crow then began heading down the staircase, after all, there was no way Max would be coming up after that right? He probably went about his day.

They met somewhere around the middle of the top middle of the way up, if the math checks out. If we factor in the size and strength and other variables such as going up, going down, fatigue etc, this becomes too much of a complex equation to form and solve so for the sake of sanity, we would assume they meet somewhere along he way.

"I... *panting* am... *panting* gonna... *heavy breathe in* get... *more panting* gimme a second..." Max kept panting, tired from going up 30+ floors, until Finally he managed to get a breath of air to speak in a semi intimdating manner. "I am going to rip that metal hand of yours and shove it down your throat so far, whoever manages to pull it out will be crowned King Arthur!" He held his fists up, but the metal scale-like covers on his hands had sparks flying from them, indicating they were busted and didn't offer as much protection as hey were supposed to. His punches would still hurt though, but it would hurt him as well...

Crow rolled his eyes at Max, he had never met someone as resilient as him, not even his Dad. While he was waiting for Max to regain his breath, the blond considered Max as a person, in truth he'd probably make a pretty decent hero if he wasn't bat shit crazy, he'd make a decent villain though, or at least a minion.

The villain wasn't particularly surprised when Max continued to threaten him and thought about how strange it was that he was Alex's twin. Seeing the fist get thrown towards him, Crow leaned out the way so that the fist would smash into the wall "Are incapable of civilized conversation? I try to talk to you and you try to kill me, you seriously need to get laid." Crow then began slowly moving around Max as to talk so he could escape down the stairs if needed "I mean if you listened for two minutes, I could tell you why your metal armour is so crap, or tell you that you should get back to replacing Alex now since he has a meeting in five minutes." That was a lie of course, but Crow would do anything to get the crazy twin to leave him alone for five minutes.

Max really had to get laid. He was the less popular brother, and everybody knows how his latest attempt to do so ended - with his face meeting a frying pan.

As he was trying to pull his fist out of the wall, he realized he really has to cover for Alex. However Crow was a loose end, one he had to tie. On the other hand, he wouldn't be able to convince the others, if he acted this way.

Taking his fist out, Max headed for the nearest door. He got into the hallway and through the fire escape. His muscle strength was unparalleled, allowing him to jump well over to the other building across the street, landing right in front of the building. He then proceed to enter the building, just to realize he could not... He was lacking the ID badge. "Ah, fuck all kinds of duck!" He yelled, heading back towards the apartment building, up the stairs, and into Alex's apartment to look for the Badge, which was earlier borrowed by Crow. "Where the hell is this thing?"

Crow breathed a sigh of relief as Max walked off and began making his way down the remainder of the stairs, though still being off guard in case Max decided to do a sneak attack. He had just about got to the bottom when Max passed him to get back up "Hm, I wonder if he realised that Alex's phone and pass landed in the hallway after I chucked them at him when he charged me? *shrugs* meh, probably, not even he could be that stupid."

The villain then began heading to the palace to meet Euphemia, usually the task would be easy, but apparently, Paradise City had really crap infrastructure, it seemed that a lot of it was under constant repair for some strange, and unrelated to him, reason. It had taken him a good half hour to get the imposing building, only to be stopped by guards, apparently normal people weren't allowed in, never the less, Crow began having a very long and very loud argument with the guards.

After a good 4 day search, because the OP forgot he didn't post, Max finally found the phone and the pass in the hallway. Ok, it wasn't 4 days, but let's just say, a while... He really is dumber than one would think, but we can give him a little break, considering he was very emotional at the time.

He then got out of the apartment building and into the office building, just to find it completely empty, thanks to Crow's fiddling. One could actually count the shades of red Max's face went through. He was so angry he couldn't even tell out the name of his new nemesis.

It took him almost an hour to calm down enough to call the base. "All units... I want bounty on Crow. Dead or alive. Put one on Alex while you're at it."

Alex in the mean time, as a pigeon, ended up somewhere in the southern Hemisphere, on an Island near Tobleronistan. For those, who don't know, Tobleronistan is a country, where everything is shaped like the famous chocolate desert. How he got there was... Questionable, but he was near civilization again. Now, with no money or ID, he had to figure a way to get back to Paradise City...

While Max had spent the past 4 days searching for Alex's stuff, Crow had been staked out inside Euphemia's room, thankfully her sisters almost very came in so he was able to hide there. The villain had been quite surprised though that there were no repercussions from his neighbour's insane twin yet, perhaps he had a way around the problems, that or it took him that long to find the stuff, but as Crow had said earlier, though it felt like weeks at this point, not ever Max was that stupid.

Fortunately, the device Crow had used to find the phone numbers on Alex's Phone had turned up its first result, which just so happened to be Alex's secretary whatever her name was, Crow was really bad with names. Never the less, this was someone who may be able to help so he pulled out his phone and began dialling her number, and regardless of if she answered or it went to voice mail, Crow would talk non-stop down the device in great detail about what had happened, conveniently leaving out the part of how he severely cripples MercerTech.

Litchi was taking her paid vacation really seriously, ignoring her phone while doing everything a woman would do, which, as a male, I have no idea of, so let's just enforce the stereotype of her going to spa, drinking wine, shopping and whatever women stereotypically do to let off steam. When she got back from the latest shopping spree, she placed the bag on the counter, and decided to check her phone which had only a single notification. Voice mail.

"In the name of Guan Yu's glorious and majestic beard!" She exclaimed as she heard all the stuff Crow had to say about the situation, barely believing at first. She had to listen to it several times to process everything. She immediately dialed the number back, in an attempt to reach Crow and try to sort things out. Arming herself with a frying pan, she quickly got changed and left the house, still trying to reach the number that called her.

Crow had been so out of breath from yelling down the phone, he hadn't noticed his phone had been ringing for the past ten minutes and swiftly went to pick it up "Thank badness you picked up! Yours was the only number I had and didn't fancy waiting until I had to call Alex's family members." In truth, there was only one family member he was afraid of, and that was ol' papa Mercer himself, the villain believed that the retired hero would likely crush him until his eyes shot out his head if he found out who he was.

After removing the rather disturbing image from his head, Crow continued "Alright, Alex's Becky, are you listening? because I have a list of stuff I need!" Crow then proceeded to list at least twenty-five different materials and objects, including but not limited to a ton of gold, two-hundred and sixty-seven horseshoes and nine toothbrushes "After you have secured all that meet me outside the royal palace. Thank you not Becky."

Not Becky had a particular set of skills, and comprehension was one of them. Among the other skills were always having a pen to write something, such as a list of stuff needed, down, so she was able to quickly and efficiently write all the things down, with limited amounts of repetition from Crow's side. "Wait did you say a jar of gum or something else that rhymes with that?" And "that's 267 horseshoes, right? Wouldn't that mean we have a 3 legged horse?" And the final one she was unsure if he needed 3 tons of grass or brass, so she made sure to have both in check.

It took Not Becky a while to get things done, now that Mercertech contacts were... In disarray... To put it mildly... But she managed to have everything in the back of a single inconspicuous black truck with the Mercertech logo on the side of the semi. She was also confused as to why he would need everything at the royal palace, bit it couldn't have been mistake as he repeated that couple of times over the phone.

Of course, using her credentials, she was easily let inside by the guards, which answered the age old question on how Crow could kidnap the princess so often and so easy. To say everybody who was an underlying of some sort in this world was incompetent, with only 2 exceptions, her being the first and her white haired nemesis being the second. Once inside, she called Crow to let him know she was in position. She couldn't risk involving others, so she drove the truck herself.

*Insert incompetent women Asian driver joke here, you know, yatta yatta, somethig something, fucking asian drivers, just fill in the blanks*

Crow had been impressed by how quickly Alex's Becky had gotten the things he needed, only his Becky could have done better, but that was an unfair comparison. Of course, now he had an even greater challenge ahead of him: Sneaking through the entire palace without anyone seeing him. If Euphemia saw him leave she'd what to come with him and having he hover over his shoulder was the last thing he needed, if any of her sisters found him they would likely do something unimaginable to him because they hated him, and if the guards saw him then they would slow him down which was annoying. The first step to succeeding in this feat, however, was the right music, so Crow began to hum the mission impossible theme tune as he ducked and weaved his way around the empty and unguarded halls of the palace. Damn, it really was obvious why he was always able to kidnap the princess so often.

After about ten minutes, Crow eventually arrived at the truck "Ahh, excellent work. This should be everyone I'd possibly need." Crow then reached into the truck and pulled out a large whiteboard "Ok first of all, we need to list off everything we know about Max and what he's after."

Chinese Not Becky watched as the whole situation unfolded and made a note on how agile Crow was for a handicapped person... Although his prosthetic seemed advanced enough to compensate. When he finally arrived and pulled the board, Litchi started thinking. She had no idea who Max was, apart from being Alex's twin brother and a pervert.
"Maybe he is jellous of his brother and wants to take his place, because... He is evil? I mean it is not uncommon for people to have evil twins... Maybe he is even Alex from another anti dimension, where everyone is their exact opposite..." Litchi explained her theory quickly, but if she would have to be honest, she had no idea what powers he had even, also Alex being gone was news to her, as she has not been mentioned for a while, during the whole abduction thing.

Meanwhile Alex was caught, Again, this time he was put into a glass prison, where he couldn't escape.

Crow looked at Litchi with a genuinely shocked look on his face "Really? You know nothing else about Max?! And you call yourself a secretary." The villain that let out a loud and heavy sigh before writing on the whiteboard in near-illegible writing as he spoke "Ok, first of all, Max has superstrength. Fortunately for us, he doesn't have brains to go with his muscles, but what he does have is an organisation at his back, whilst he's not in charge of it he has a whole little strike squad as well as whatever tech they provide him with. He has at least one team member who's proficient in magic." Crow then immediately rubbed off the board and drew a purple robot, and it definitely seemed that he was far better at art than writing "So my plan, much like my other plans, involves a robot. This robot will be built to be resilient and to have strength equal to Max, from there we make a distraction and draw all of Max's men away so with a big fight using the robot, whilst we go and save Alex. The only problem is that we have no idea where Alex is. I don't suppose you implanted a tracker in him, did you? Becky did that to me."

Chinese Not-Becky rubbed her chin and fixed her reading glasses. "Implanting a chip? Don't be ridiculous, who does that?" She nervously scratched the back of her head. "Yeah, ok, You got me I bugged him, the tracker is in his left butcheek, and according to this conveniently placed monitor, which happens to have the required software, we can conclude he is somewhere off the coast of South America." She pointed at the monitor. "I don't know if there is an island there or whatever, but if what you say is true, and this guy has a whole organization behind him, there could possibly be, you know, what kind of evil mastermind does not have their very own island? A second rate one, that's for sure!" She looked at the monitor again. "We could take Alex's private aircraft carrier, I am sure he wouldn't mind, besides, we are trying to save him, right?"

Meanwhile off the coast of Brasil on an artificial Island, which happens to be off the maps...

Sublevel 1, prison cell
Eclipse Nightwitch entered the prison block and sat in front of the glass prison. It was nothing more, nothing less than a glass box. They couldn't risk Alex turning into something small and running away again. "Sooo... What's the plan? You keep me here till I die? Why don't just kill me?" He teased the superhero... Supervillain... He was unsure what she was at this point.
"Well, we could try and kill you, but you probably ate a tardigrade or a cockroach or whatever, and I doubt we can... Unless you be a good boy and cooperate and just kill yourself..." She smiled as if she asked him to borrow a pen or something...

Alex sat back down. He knew he couldn't just reason with this woman. Or he could just turn on the charm... He got back up again, and leaned on the glass with all his swag on. "So what does a good looking place like you doing in a shitty girl like this? No, wait, that's not right..." He paused. The lack of oxygen in the closed box was making his vision blurry and he couldn't think straight. It took hem a couple of more breaths to pass out. "Oh, good... Finally some peace and quiet." She crossed her legs, and prepared for her shift of 4 hours watching the prisoner.

Meanwhile meanwhile, in the Paradise City ruling body main building, which we are unsure what it is...

The ruling body was on one side of a large table, and Catman was on the other. They were discussing the future of the city. "With our main protector, Helix, gone, we turned to you, Catman, leader of the superhero league." The ruler said. "And, as president of the superhero league, I am glad you dump this exposition on us all. Now, I will return the favor by offering you a deal. We will give you a new hero! And we will give you 4% off the merchandise for said hero." Catman explained

"That is very generous of you, mister Catman. Who do you have in mind?" The ruler asked, barely holding heir excitement. "Well, I am glad you asked. Now if you direct your attention to the conveniently placed PowerPoint presentation."
Everyone turned to face the wall.
latest

"This is Robert Richards. His superhero name is B(L)OB... The L is silent." Catman explained. Once the Aaahs, and the Oooohs, and the Eeeews ended, Catman continued with his explanation. "Bob is stronger than the average man, he can lift a car, jump tall buildings with a single leap, and run moderately slow, without getting tired. But his strongest feature is, that he is indestructible. He feels pain though, so he is not completely overpowered."

"How much is he gonna cost us?" The ruler asked. "I am glad you asked. Now, for the low price of $300 000 000 he will be your new protector." Catman explained. After everyone stopped laughing, realizing Catman was serious, and this whole situation was serious, they decided to accept, making Bob their new resident superhero...

Crow nervously laughed and scratched the back of his head "Haha... yeah. What kind of ...second rate villain wouldn't have an island." Ok fine, he didn't have an island, but to be fair they were REALLY expensive and money wasn't exactly good nowadays. He then nodded and jumped up "Yes, excellent plan. Though we do need a solid escape route. Getting from the island back to paradise city should be easy thanks to its ambiguous location allowing it to be wherever we need it to be. The main issue is that we won't ever be safe unless we topple this organisation now." Crow then walked over to the crates filled with random crap he had asked not Becky to get him "Well regardless, I need to build this robot before we do anything."

One unnecessarily long, low budget construction montage later:

"God I love montages! They're just such an efficient way to get things done." The villain then took a step back to look at his creation.
9e3631a3707074bb089cce1b895beae1.jpg
"There! Hopefully, this is enough to go toe to mechanical toe with Max." Crow then turned to look at Alex's Becky "Ok, so while I distract everyone with my amazing death bot of doom, you need to sneak in, rescue Alex and find some way to protect us from these people in the future. Sound good? Cool! lets get going!"
