Appearance: Ibore's appearance is the very definition of ruggedly handsome. The youth stands at just under six foot tall, and is usually dressed from head to toe in his ceremonial armour. He takes great pride in his appearance. This sometimes makes him look older than he actually is. Blue eyes sparkle and gleam with an inner light, and his warm smile is infectious, reflecting the kind-hearted soul that he appears to be. For people who know him, it is easy to tell when Ibore is worried or concerned due to his mannerisms as he tends to cover his mouth with his hand. He also has the habit of stroking his chin when he is deep in thought. Ibore takes a great deal of care in the way he looks -- from an early age his parents taught him to always be presentable, no matter the situation. The one thing that he cannot control, indeed appears to be outwith his control is the unruly mop of hair on his head that falls shoulder length. Ibore has long given up on any attempt to fashion or style it.

Personality: Ibore is kind hearted and generous, if somewhat naïve. He believes in the inherent goodness of everyone, despite living in a world where most people are anything but. He is proud of himself and his abilities -- perhaps too proud. Ibore works harder, and drives himself harder than anyone else. He is a perfectionist, having been taught from an early age to strive for perfection that is never attainable. Due to this fact, Ibore often, in his own eyes at least, falls short of the lofty ideals and goals that he sets himself, and this own self-perceived failure gnaws away at him inwardly. Ibore often tries to prove himself in groups, even when there is no need for him to do so. Some might even say he tries too hard, and in doing so ultimately sets himself up to fail. The young paladin also hides a dark secret inside of himself. Having been brought up in a family where devotion to Tyr outstripped everything else, even to the expense of love and affection from parent to their only child, Ibore has come to resent Tyr in a way. He constantly asks himself if such devotion to any deity or being to the point where he felt starved of parental love outwith his martial pursuits or accomplishments is worth it. Secretly, he fears that Tyr is not worthy of such love and worship -- and it is a deep, nagging darkness that eats away at him.

Backstory: There is no key event more fundamental for Ibore than his initiation into the Order of the Gauntlet. For a single moment in his life, young Ibore came to feel that he had made his parents proud of him. For a second. That day, when he was officially initiated, he saw the look of pride in his parents eyes. His mother approached him, and she said to him words that have remained in his heart ever since. "My son, go forwards and light a candle in the darkness for us."

For a brief moment, he even felt that he himself was worth something. Only for a moment. As the days passed and the feelings subsided, Ibore began to look back on this moment, and the doubts began to surface. Doubts that he had done the right thing by joining the Order. Doubts that he had done it for himself, rather than doing it to get his parents to love him. Inside, a deep rooted fear rose inside of him that he had unwittingly locked himself in a prison of his own making.

Ibore had a sword in his hands pretty much from the moment he was able to hold on without dropping it. His parents, themselves paladins in Tyr's order wanted nothing else than their only child to spread the word of Tyr like they had done before him. He was pushed harder, much much harder than others his age. A child of Steelheart, after all, could only be the very best to preserve the family name and traditions of those who came before. No child of Steelheart would be anything less than the very best. Devoting himself and his heart to the god, Ibore's parents were delighted when Tyr answered, and they realised that their child would indeed carry on the family tradition of serving Tyr as Paladin's in their gods name. Little did they realise the doubts and darkness that secretly ate away at him.....

It was always written in the stars per se, or at least Ibore's family history that he would eventually join the Order of the Gauntlet. His parents practically pushed him in that direction, whether it was something young Ibore wanted or not. There was never a choice in the matter as far as his parents were concerned. He would join the Order, simple as that. Yes, Ibore could have rebelled. He could have struck out on his own and done his own thing, but if he did then he would never earn that which he craved the most -- acceptance from another that he was worth something. Some would say that the stars aligned for this particular thing.

And it was on a mission for Tyr's Order that the Drow ambushed and took Ibore to the Underdark.....
