PERSONALITY:

Enjoys very little in the world, and in fact finds day-to-day life to be almost unbearable. They find their single solace in their gossip blog, which they pour their heart and soul into. Within the blog, they act quite differently from their usual reserved, quiet self- they act quite mischievous and sociable.

They have no hobbies outside of the blog- it has completely consumed their life. It has gotten to the point that they’re almost incapable of communicating with people in person. They often get wrapped with incredible anxiety whenever forced into such a situation.

They see themselves as a complete waste of a human being, not having an identity for themself. Their self hatred is the reason why they obsess over the lives and interests of others- and the reason why they don’t see a future for themselves.

BACKSTORY :

• Kagami was born in the very same town they still reside in.
• Everything was fine for a while, but difficulties started arising in high school, when Kagami started to run afoul of their father’s sky-high expectations. Specifically, their father expected for Kagami to come out of his shell in high school, trading reclusiveness and shyness for the kind of forthright ambition that their father always wished he himself could’ve taken advantage of in his youth. Instead, Kagami continued being timid and even started struggling a little in their classes due to the stress caused by their father.
• Their father took out his disappointment on both Kagami and his wife. Ultimately, through a combination of these issues alongside Kagami starting to explore their own gender to their father’s further disapproval, resulted in their father leaving the family.
• This left only Kagami’s mother behind to take care of her child, but she would often be absent for long stretches of time, ostensibly for the purposes of work but mainly because she had grown to care little for her child.
• So, in essence, Kagami was abandoned by both of their parents. This was what led them to have a deflated sense of self worth and esteem, seeing themself as an empty, dull, and useless person without the capacity to do anything or make anything of value.
• Despite still going to school, Kagami didn’t really talk to anyone or have any skill at all in making friends- whatever friends they may have accrued were done so completely accidentally and out of their own control. They were extremely reclusive and passive in all matters- in fact, they’ve essentially gone completely mute, relying on pen-and-paper to communicate… alongside their blog.
• Kagami started their gossip blog as a way to live vicariously through the exploits and eccentricities of the other students at their school, deluding themself and getting lost in the fantasy of their strange lives. The blog served as both a distraction from the miserable existence Kagami faced day-to-day, but also as a guiding light for Kagami, allowing them to take on a new identity that was free of all the disappointment and baggage that Kagami attached to themself.
• Kagami would grow to identify themself with the ostensibly anonymous blog strongly, even believing that once they graduated High School and their blog became defunct, their life would simply have to end right then and there.

PSYCHE
PERSONALITY: Jess is a very chill, laidback guy for the most part. He seems like your average jock, due to his physique, his apparent academic dishonesty, and his talent at sports. However, he is much more than he seems, and that’s not talking about supernatural drama. He’s someone who’d do anything for his friends, and this oftentimes is considered his fatal flaw, however he has severe trauma and trust issues, and so therefore considers most of his friends fake. While he is good at sports, he hates every second of it.

He can be a leader, and is very charismatic even without his supernatural abilities, but he also likes to let others take the wheel. He is extremely cautious and wary around new people, and prefers to keep up his guard. Also goes to show you he’s more intelligent than he looks, actually being a great logical reasoner who just doesn’t try. He could if he wanted to, but he doesn’t.

Jess is extremely hard to get to know at first, and while he tries to move beyond the propaganda his mother has pounded into him his entire life, it doesn’t always work the best. He’s prone to anxiety and panic attacks, especially when wolves are mentioned, and suffers from a severe case of C-PSTD. As a result, he has low mental willpower and is easier mentally to crack than physically.

TIME MACHINE
HISTORY: jess was born in havana, cuba, on January 5th, 1989, to Deja Harkens, a Israeli-born siren whose family was from old Middle Eastern money, and Kyle McClaine, a British-born cursed-to-be-immortal-psychic who was the host of a popular reality tv show. While he was unaware of how exactly his parents met, he didn’t care, as he never met his father (and has no desire to). When he was young, his mother was an alcoholic, physically and emotionally abusive, and he still bears the physical scars from that to this day. They lived in La Vibora, the poorest area in Havana, and often had to feed on corpses to survive. When Deja finally got a job working as a maid, the two moved to New York City when Jess was 9.

Once arrived, Jess had a hard time learning English, but because of his mother’s past behavior, was taken by NYCPS and placed in a foster home, with the Zubermanns, who had adopted three other kids in the past. Jess got along well with his adoptive siblings, Lea; 13, Joseph; the same age as him, and baby Tash. Of course, we’re completely ignoring the fact that the entire family had no knowledge that the supernatural existed….or that they lived near a werewolf hunting ground.

When he was 10, Jess came home from school one day to find his entire foster family dead. One split second, he made the fatal mistake to turn around, and was attacked by a werewolf, who almost ate him/mauled him to within an inch of his life. However, on that fateful day, someone saved him, though he never would find out who. Though he was grateful, the mental scars would never ever leave him, neither the physical, and so he never fully recovered.

At Goddard he’s the hot, popular, boy. But it seems his coma last year seems to have left him worse for wear. How long until he shatters…is the question.

  PERSONA

  Nic being a werewolf and all grew up in a pack, and that is all she has ever known. She has lived a life where she did what was best for the majority and that thinking of only yourself was considered to be wrong. While that might not have been said openly, it was heavily implied. This has made her a person who feels like if she is not a part of a group then she serves no purpose and is someone that must always think about what is good for the group. Even if it is something that might not be good for her. Nic feels conflicted because she has reached a stage in her life where she is starting to consider making those “selfish” choices, and it is hard. Nic is trying to find her own while also trying to be a part of a group. It has not become any easier with life's current events. But she is not about to back down. Nic was taught to face her fears, not run from them, and she has taken that to heart. If something scares her then she is going to confront it, no questions asked. Even if it does nothing to help her fear, at least she knows that she did something. While this might not seem bad, it can lead to her doing things that are too big for her to handle. Nic doesn’t always consider that she might not be ready to face her fears. She feels so confident in the abilities that she carries that she dismisses whatever her instinct may tell her.
  
  Nic is definitely arrogant when it comes to her strength. She has no doubt in her powers and doesn’t think that they will ever fail her. Even if that thought were to cross her mind she wouldn’t take it too seriously. Which can lead to some bad things if she doesn’t keep herself in check. After all, she is an eighteen-year-old werewolf trying to find herself and fight death at the same time. Nic possesses the ability to be an absolute killing machine, and as soon as she takes that wolf form it can be a coin toss. This same trait sometimes pops up as a human, but it is more mild compared to when she has taken on her other form. She can and will leave no survivors. While her human consciousness is still aware. She doesn’t always want to fight it. Nic would never want to hurt a friend because they are her pack (at least in her mind), but she might not be so willing to show that mercy to others. She is still learning how to control this wild side of her.
  
  While Nic puts way too much faith into supernatural abilities at times and doesn’t have all of her priorities set out. She is someone who is incredibly devoted to not only her family but the people that she has become friends with. Even if she may not know the person especially well, Nic doesn’t like leaving people on their own. She knows there is a difference between being alone and being independent. While she may not completely understand it because of the way she was raised she still wants to be able to give people her support if they were to want it. She is a surprisingly gentle person despite being a somewhat clunky teen werewolf at times. She cares a lot for others and she always has her door open to people if they ever wish to talk to her. Nic does this in a couple of ways. The first is pretty obvious, she will make sure that they feel safe and comfortable around her. Do you need someone to be that really aggressive friend that scares off creeps? Nic can do that for you. Do you need someone with who you can go on runs? Nic will happily agree and ask what time you guys are going. While she may make a friendly competition out of it she will happily agree. The second way is that Nicole will do little things to make them smile.
  
  Whether that is through sarcastic banter or play fights. Nicole may not always be the best at it sometimes, but she tries her best through her canine instincts. And that mindset comes in quite handy in more ways than one would expect. Nic is always on her toes. Not because she is especially anxious or feels like she needs to get something done. It’s more about being aware of everything around her. It can be annoying sometimes having super heightened senses but she also likes being aware when something feels off. Nic always trusts her gut when it tells her that something dangerous is lurking about. While it is not often that her danger senses go off it is something that she will soon come to treasure. And as you already know Nic is not afraid to face that danger. Especially if it means protecting the people she cares for.

  Skills

  abilities

  How: Nic was born a werewolf, it was not a curse that was placed on her or anything like that. It is just something that she has been able to do since birth. Unlike the werewolf in books and movies, her transformation is not tied to the phases of the moon. She can change her shape whenever she likes but it is not comfortable.
  Shapeshifting: As a werewolf, Nic is able to change her form. When she changes her form is pretty gruesome because her skin tears and her bones break to match the form that she is going for. While it is no longer as painful as it was when she was first learning, it is still something that is not comfortable.
  Natural weaponry: She is able to make her nails and teeth extend and use them as weapons if she does not wish to take the full wolf form.
  Enchanted abilities and senses: Nic is much more capable than any human who may know. She is incredibly strong and fast. While she is not going to be lifting buildings or running faster than the speed of sound. What she can do is still incredible. Pair this with her incredible senses then she is kind of the perfect fighting machine. She can even be seen in the dark.
  Regenerative healing factor: Wounds for Nic are not nearly as intense or traumatic. While of course depending on how severe the wounds are they still may take time to heal, just they won’t take nearly as much time. Nic is not invincible, she is incredibly strong, but things like intense organ damage and lost limbs are way out of her pay grade for healing.
  
  

  weaknesses

  Sensitive Senses: Nic is a werewolf meaning that her senses are much better than that of any normal human being, but that can be a problem. Especially with loud noises it makes her ears ring and she has a major headache. She is also not really fond of bright lights either.
  Overdose: This may sound weird but when she is in her supernatural form then she would need to take in more drugs for them to take effect. For example, if someone were to try and tranquilize her then it would take near-lethal doses for a human. So if she had all those drugs in her system and turned back into a human then it could either do some serious damage to her system or kill her.
  Silver: While silver on its own is unable to kill her on its own, it does burn her, and wounds created from silver weapons or with silver take much longer to heal despite her regenerative healing.
  Other supernatural attacks: Attacks from other supernatural creatures are not affected by her regenerative healing factor, meaning that wounds from creatures like her or of supernatural nature may take longer to heal. While the effects may not be as severe she is not completely immune.
  Time between transformation: Nic’s transformation is not exactly what some would describe as seamless. It is painful and you can hear the bones breaking as she does it. She can’t transform back to back, it is just too much on her body. Changing back into a human is not rough on her body, but if she tries to push past her limits, it is not good.

• BACKGROUND

  
  
  

  The only life that Nicole had known was the pack in Seattle. Her family pack had been in the area since the first years of its founding hundreds of years ago. Her large extended family has settled into the same area of Seattle, making it their home and hunting grounds. Consuming an entire neighborhood as their own, while there may be a couple lingering humans within their little neighborhood the humans that are involved within the pack. Whether that means parents of wolves or lovers, no one in the neighborhood is not aware of the kind of beings that they live with. This of course is a secret that remains just within pack boundaries. It would be safe to say that Nicole has grown up in a sort of echo chamber of ideas with her only outside influence coming from her best friend and the other kids at school. But that was about it. So it is safe to say that Nicole really just copied and pasted bits and pieces of everyone’s own thoughts to supposedly make her own. But they never felt like her own.
  
  Except she hadn’t noticed that until her closest friend in the pack started to share the stories of all the friends she had made outside the pack. Alana was someone she was very close to within the pack, they grew up more like siblings than anything, and when you grow up surrounded by the same kind of creature that is a very easy thing to do. Nic can’t remember a time when Alana was not in her life. They have always been together. Alana was always different from her though. She was a true adventurer. Not just of her surroundings but also of the people around her as well. Nic always admired her for it. Nic’s father however warned her about being as trusting and curious as Alana. Aaron, her father, would often go on long rants about what would happen if people discovered them. Nic’s paternal family was made largely of werewolves who had grown up during times when people would not hesitate to kill creatures like them. So they worked very hard to drill that message into Nic’s head from a very young age and would frown upon Alana’s want to know more than just the pack.
  
  Nic’s mother, on the other hand, Marion, was a human by nature and most of her family was human as well so she tried to prevent her daughter from becoming too dissociated with humans since Nic one day would have the great gifts that she would need to control around people. It was never really said but there was always a divide in the pack between those who were born werewolves and those who were born human. Even as a little kid Nicole could see how lonely her mother was. She couldn’t understand why though. When she asked her mom about it when she was a bit older, she always seemed so sad. Marion seemed hesitant to give her daughter a reason before explaining to Nic that she was different from her father. This only made Nic more confused, because her mother was still part of the pack. Why did it matter that she couldn’t change her shape as her father could? It wasn’t until Nic’s powers decided to surface that she understood her mother’s words. Nicole was thirteen when the lycanthrope gift decided to kick in. She had changed before Alana, so she only really had her family there to help her walk through this moment in her life. And it was not what she had expected at all.
  
  Her father spoke like none else would understand what it was like to be a werewolf and that she would always come to him or one of the elder wolves whenever she was having trouble. When Nic asked if she could talk to her mom he told her she wouldn’t be able to help because she was human. This only made her more confused. She didn’t know why it mattered that her mom didn’t experience the same pain as she did, she was her mother, and if anything she didn’t want her to have to experience being a werewolf. Her father had always described it as this incredible thing and the strength they possessed as Lycans was unrivaled. Which was not untrue. But everything else about this so-called gift Nicole was born with was not fun at all. It was painful to transform and left her sore for days afterward as she learned to control it. Sometimes she wouldn’t be able to move for days because her dad made her practice so much. Those were the days when her parents would whisper in angered voices at each other while Alana sat with her. That was another thing as well. The fact that all her senses shot up by a hundred made her head swim from all the new smells and sounds.
  
  She would often share her complaints with Alana and explained that when she went through her time then she would help her walk through it as well. In Nic’s mind, it would be another thing that they could share. In the meantime, Nic used her newfound strength to take Alana wherever she wanted in Seattle. Using the shortcuts that went through the back alleys to make sure they weren’t caught. It was during these times that Nicole started to see the better side of her powers. The things she could do. She always knew she had done something good when Alana had that giant smile on her face. But it was not meant to last. It was soon realized that Alana was never meant to turn like Nicole. And that's when things started to get messy. And she couldn’t do anything but watch her friend slip through her fingers. If she didn’t already wish for her father’s demise in the darkest depths of her mind after what he had already done. She certainly did then when he prevented Nicole from repairing her friendship with Alana.
  
  It was not long after that her dad whisked their family to New York. It was not the first time that Nicole had been there, but being back made many memories resurface that she was not ready to face yet. But soon she wouldn’t have a choice.

    As a child, Nic really looked up to her father because of all the cool powers that he had. He would spend many hours only speaking of the wonders of being a lycanthrope and all. He never took the time to prepare Nic for what actually happens and how incredibly painful it is. Nic has lost the child glamor she had about her father and now has a very average (that's a lie she tells herself) relationship with him. She tries not to think badly about him, but she holds some resentment from how he treated her. Nic doesn’t understand what he thinks, nor does she want to.

    Nic and her mom are very close. Her mother makes strides to try and understand her struggles even though she doesn’t go through them herself. Marion is always there to remind Nic that she is also human and doesn’t have to be this mythical creature of lore all the time and make it the main part of her personality. Marion tries her best to hide the fact that she and Nic’s father fight about what is going to be best for Nic, but Nic knows that they have conflicting opinions.     Alana used to be her partner in crime and nothing could separate them. But when it was discovered that Alana would most likely not transform ever, the two of them started to become more distant. For a long time, Nic struggled with this because Alana was the one person in the pack to whom she really opened up about her struggles with becoming a werewolf and how she felt like her dad was pushing her too hard.   While not showing outright cruelty, she has very low sympathy for her peers. She doesn’t see people as below her, quite the opposite; she sees them on the same playing field as herself. Raised to see from no other viewpoint from her own, she has a hard time seeing from other people’s point of view, and tends to project how she sees herself and feels onto others. In this manner, she can justify treating those lower on the social ladder however she wants to; if they didn’t want to be so low on the totem pole, they would have fought tooth and nail just as she did to be where she is now. She has seen life up until this point as a competition between her and her fellow peers, a contest with winners and losers. And she’ll be damned if she ever loses.

A highly opinionated girl, she refuses to soften her tone or bite her tongue for anyone else’s comfort. With little empathy for others, she sees little reason why she should keep her more disparaging opinions to herself, or why she should care if it hurts anyone else’s feelings. To her, it’s just being honest; others should be lucky to hear what she has to say. She fully embraces being seen as bitchy, as it serves to further her self-centered narrative.
  
  She isn’t a narcissist per say, but it’s hard to picture her considering anyone other than herself. She’s completely absorbed with herself and the small bubble of people around her, and sees little merit in anyone else if she can’t use them as a tool to get what she wants. Since she always wants things to go her way, it’s common for her to adopt a dogmatic, completely controlling mindset. She has little use for people or things that refuse to yield to her influence. Despite her position at the top of the food chain, the people she despises most in this world are not nerds or social rejects at the bottom, but people climbing their way to the top by getting close and attempting to imitate her. She thinks of these (most often) girls as little more than parasites, leeches attempting to feed off her own social standing.
  
  All of these traits stem from a deep-seated insecurity, one that’s hard to see on the surface with her egocentric persona, but becomes obvious once you start breaking down her mind and motives. In order to feel good about herself, to feel like she deserves to exist, she needs attention and validation from others. The incredibly high standards she holds others to is merely a projection of the standards she holds herself to, ones she secretly feels she’s never been able to achieve. Without perfection, there’s a gap inside of her that she feels the need to fill with other people’s approval. Whatever act she puts on of confidence and self-adoration, rest assured it’s only to throw others off her track, to make sure they’ll never discover how inadequate she feels.
  
  One of the more visible ways her insecurity presents itself is how she acts around boys. While she does degrade others to further her own superiority, it’s mostly towards girls and boys lower than her in status. At the end of the day, she is a teenage girl desperate for validation. When it comes to boys older than her/with higher social standing, she often dampens her own intelligence and plays up what she thinks they’ll find sexy to boost their opinion of her. Sexual attraction is to her, a type of positive attention, and therefore one she’ll pursue in order to keep her reputation. It’s not something she’s proud of herself for; in fact, she often feels disgusting and foolish for acting like this, but she can’t seem to help herself.
  
  likes. Velour tracksuits, glossy lips, red wine, green money, diamonds and rhinestones, warm weather, the beach, yoga and jogs, sunsets. Her favorite weapons include a pink pocket knife studded with rhinestones, and a steel axe wrapped with pink ribbon.
  dislikes. Schoolwork, greasy food, being underdressed, being alone, feeling vulnerable, modest clothing, full moons, blood on her cute clothes, any dog bigger than a chihuahua.
  
  fears. Her biggest fear is isolation and rejection, and that she’ll ever have to go through life alone.
  
  quirks. She has a very mild Portuguese accent and occasionally plays it up in front of boys for the ‘sexy foreigner’ appeal.
  She runs her fingers through her hair when she’s bored.
  It’s rare, but when something/someone manages to make her feel insecure, she usually feels so lowly she’s not even able to make eye contact with that person; queue lots of looking at her nails or making excuses to walk away.

Long term residents of the coastal country of Portugal, LaToya’s family traces their occupation there all the way back to Portuguese conquest of parts of western Africa in the 16th century. Despite the lowly status they may have come to the country with, over centuries, the Guerreiros have worked their way up to being one of the wealthiest and most influential families in western Europe. As long as they’ve been around, they’ve always been industrious and incredibly hardworking, and as far as they trace back their history, they’ve always been killers. The exact origin of their supernatural hunter’s blood is unknown, but there are urban legends, believed by those out of the family and those within it; some say they’re descended from angels, warriors of God sent to carry out his will, others say they’ve held a grudge against inhuman creatures for so many years it’s imbued them with enough spite to give them enhanced human skills.
  
  Who they descend from or what created them doesn’t matter; to a supernatural hunter, the urge to destroy the supernatural is as natural and unquestionable as the urge to consume. They can naturally detect whenever a monster is nearby, and the compulsion that follows is akin to hunger. It is something that must be satisfied, that draws them near; like the saliva that pools in the mouth of a starving human, their body reacts physically, tightening their fists, clenching their jaw and setting their heart alight until their blood begins to burn.
  Hunting has become a tradition within the family, implanted into the minds of their children as healthy and normal and encouraged as soon as they can hold their first stake (which is traditional, but knives, guns and lengths of pipe are the more realistic as well as casual choice).
  
  LaToya was brought on her first hunt at the green age of five years old, an experience she remembers vividly and looks back on with warm nostalgia. She remembers holding her mother in one hand and a bottle of holy water in the other, tottering alongside her and her father, older brothers, aunt and uncle. She crunched fallen leaves underfoot as she walked, paying little attention to the hushes of her family as they led her through the dead of night towards a residence well known to be infested with vampires. She remembers the feeling that gripped her heart as they snuck into the house, a curious mix of anger, fear and craving that sent goosebumps through her arms. She remembers watching in amazement and admiration as her family methodically took out the entire dwelling one by one, leaving a trail of fanged corpses in their wake as they traveled further into the house. She remembers the thrill, the absolute gratification that washed over her in a wave with her first kill, aiming her bottle of holy water at a vampire and drenching it as it charged at her, engulfing it in a blaze of unholy flame. Like all novel experiences and first times in childhood, the intensity of that feeling, the satisfaction of that hunger was something she’s never experienced again to this day. Like all members in her family, it was an experience that sparked an addiction; more than that, it was her call to action, the awakening of a role she was destined to play.
  
  While she fit right into the dynamic of her extended family and her race as a supernatural huntress, things weren’t so simple when it came to her more personal relationships. Her father was and remains an important figure in her home country’s government, and her mother was a wealthy shareholder for a large cosmetic company. With both of their important roles taking up most of their attention, LaToya was given little attention at home that wasn’t harassment from her two older brothers or professional exchanges with her family’s many housekeepers. The moments of care she did receive from her parents were typically fleeting and most often physical, with them giving her gifts or sweets to keep her placated before going off to work again. Her parents did and still do love her, as any parent should, but their bond with her goes beyond little other than surface-level affection and empty expressions of love. This relationship with her mother and father never helped her to become more self-sufficient or independent, but only served to further the feeling of loneliness and inadequacy she felt inside. Emotionally, they bordered on neglectful, leading LaToya to only crave it more as she grew older.
  
  Her social life outside of her family didn’t satisfy her either. Years of isolation and being essentially raised by her servants had made her quiet and reserved, clueless on how to make friends. She saw little outside of her own worldview, and struggled to make connections with those she pretended to care for. Even at the elite private school she attended, her wealth and status made her an outcast among those raised by their own parents, those with the ability to act casually and feign normalcy. For years, she went through her school experience without making a single friend, only becoming more bitter and self-centered as the years went on.
  
  Everything changed when her father became an ambassador for his country, and their family was made to move overseas to New York. Starting her high school experience in America, LaToya saw how different things were than in Portugal. The hierarchy of people was not based on who was friendliest or who got the best grades; it was based on deception and lies, a game of status that treated those in it like actors instead of people. For the first time, her money and social status drove others to her instead of away. She was a player in a game, one she could cheat and play dirty, one she could win without having to pretend she felt anything for other people. So, she began to play. She smiled at boys and glared at nerds, she made friends and promises, told secrets and went to parties, keeping an endless supply of knives in case she needed to go behind someone’s back. She fought until she reached the top of the social ladder, where she sits now and defends with her life.
  
  She met Jess in freshman year, only starting their relationship when they became sophomores. It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, but she knew as soon as she laid eyes upon him that he would have to be hers. Unfortunately for many members of her family, the symptoms of close-contact with the supernatural, aka goosebumps, a quickened heartbeat and warmth in your stomach, is often confused for love. She knew when they began talking that he was not human, but something kept her from killing him the first chance she got. Perhaps it was his sweet smile, or his charisma, or the intoxicating sound of his voice that drew her in like a doomed ship circling a whirlpool. Or maybe it’s his abs?
  
  Ever since they’ve started dating, she’s stopped going on solitary hunts, only ever going out when her family requires it of her. Even then, she’s hesitant to deliver any blows unless one of them finds themselves in imminent danger. She struggles to keep from fulfilling her role as huntress, as it feels intrinsically wrong to go against something so deeply rooted in her genes.
