"Darling please, don't make me send my lacky again. He's already upset that you put a new hole in him." she takes a sip, "Let me tell you something. I came from a family where our word is law. I know what I want and I take it. And Alex is the man that I want. He may not know it yet, but he's already lost you, and all I have to do is bat my eyes at him once more."

"Then go do it. Talk to him and see what he thinks of you. You're a big talker, but I'd like to see you step in and him automatically change his tune about how much he is disgusted by you."

"Disgusted? How? I made him into what he is now." she scoffed, "Where as the only thing you did was give him a quick release of satisfaction." she finished her glass and set it down. "Now excuse me. I've got a man to take back." she said as she stood up and walked to the back area.

"I'd hardly consider this quick," she said, following her. "Oh darling! She's coming back to see you!" She said in a singsong voice.

"She whos...she." Alex said as he turned to face them both. Both staring into each other's eyes, "Diana."

"Alex, darling. Stop this charade. You know I'm the woman good enough for you. Not some back ally street singer."

"Diana..." he said softly.

"Back alley?!" She huffed. She looked at Alex, feeling herself deflate a bit.

"Why are you here?" he said simply, "We are through, Diana? You're more devil than woman." he says as he crosses his arms.

"Please I gave you time to think about leaving me. And I'm forgiving you. So leave this trash and come back to me. After all, I still have the ring to prove it." she says as she sticks out her hand to show her engagement ring.

He stared at it long and hard and kept his eyes darting between the ring and Lynn.

She frowned. "He's made his choice and you need to respect it. Relationships don't always work out and if you're so determined to chase him, it's no wonder he thinks so negatively."

He took her hand and held it close, "I do believe you have something of mine." He says as looks into her eyes.

"You're heart?" She smiled and glanced over at Lynn.

"Yes..." he says as he puts his other hand over his own.

"Al..." she felt herself tear up a bit, but shook her head. "O-oh well... whatever makes you happy..." she forced a smile and walked out. Why did she let it get this far? Why did she think he wouldn't choose that woman? Why did she think she could be happy?

 

[Zemfro]

"LYNN!" He called out. "Don't move." He said as he looked back to Diana. He looked her in the eyes and said, "You can have my rotten heart. You ruined it." He takes off the ring and walks over to Lynn.

"Carolynn O'Brien." He starts off, "You have changed me. Entierly. You've made me want to be a better man each and every day. You're smile is priceless to me, your laugh is music to my ears, and you're love is gospel. I have never met a woman that I can compare to you. And I know this is rushing this a lot but...." he lowers himself to one knee and presents the ring, "Will you marry me?"

She sniffled, dropping to her knees so that she could wrap her arms around him tightly. "Of course, you dumbass..." she whispered. "I love you with everything I have... I can't imagine living in a world without your love."

 

[Zemfro]

The room had fallen silent when he proposed then burst into a cheer for the new couple. Alex kissed her cheek, "She has my rotten heart. You have my soul, body, mind and everything else. I love you." he stood up with her to turn and face Diana who was currently standing mouth agape. "Now...would you like to have me, the staff or my fiance escort you out?"

"How...could you take this away from me? I worked hard to get this close to having the power. You stupid bitch!" she yelled at Lynn.

"I guess she wants me to escort her out..." she smiled. "Wait right here." She grabbed her arm. Her touch was gentle, though; not nearly the rough grab one wood expect in this situation. "There is no power. Alex just loves who he loves and that's all there is to it. You'll find someone, but they won't be Alex."

 

[Zemfro]

She yanked her arm back, "Who the hell do you think you are?!" she yelled, she was on the verge of tears from how angry she was.

"I'm just a woman that wants to be happy. I've found a chance at love, and I'd like to grasp it for dear life. If he ever decides he loves you, I'll step aside and let you two be happy; but he's mine until that day and you have to respect that."

 

[Zemfro]

"Which is never gonna happen." Alex chuckled.

Diana looked hard into her eyes, "You're going to regret this." She says as she storms off.

As soon as she walked out Alex walked up to Lynn and picked her up by wrapping his arms around her waist and kissed her, "I love you with all my life, Lynn." he says as the crowd gathers back around them.

She kissed back happily. "I love you too much for words."

 

[Zemfro]

He sets her down as the singer says, "Such a lovely sight aint it folks. Let's keep this mood going shall we?" He says as they start up the next love song.

Alex holds her hand right, "How do you think the band is gonna feel? You think they'll approve of me?" He says with a laugh.

She laughed. "Yes please!" She pulled him into another kiss. "Want to dance, darling?"

He laughed, "Do you even need to ask?" He says as he holds her close, "Honestly Lynn. I didn't expect those words to come out so soon. Maybe on the vacation but not here." He says softly, "Ya see? You make me step way out of my comfort zone." He laughed.

"I'm glad. It makes things interesting."

He sighed, "To be honest I thought you were gonna punch her. Or are you saving that for velma?" He joked.
