Amityvillager
Free-Spirited Fox, Voracious Vixen
Oh, I didn't see you come in! Well, now that you're here, let me tell you a bit about the City of Bone and Sin. This tale is not for the faint of heart, mind you. Now listen as I spin you a tale of woe and darkness, a tale of hopelessness and loneliness, a tale of mystery and rebellion. . . .
Type: Steampunk
Races: To be honest, I'm accepting anything! It's more fun with a ton of variety and freedom.
Difficulty: Honestly, I'm looking for [intermediate], but I would absolutely adore an [Advanced]! To be honest, I don't really care, just be literate.
Hᴏᴡ ᴛʜᴇ Cɪᴛʏ ᴏғ Bᴏɴᴇ ᴀɴᴅ Sɪɴ Cᴀᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ Bᴇ
Before the City of Bone and Sin even existed, creatures lived in hiding from humans. After centuries of hiding in the dark, they gathered into groups and emerged, angry. At first, the humans feared for their lives. It wasn't until most of the world fell into chaos that an army of humans finally organized. They built a city--our city--and decimated the population of wild creatures. Many of these creatures were taken captive; the others outside the city died. As far as the people of the City of Bone and Sin know, their city is the only one left. But only a select few know about the outside world: the high class breeders.

Humans The scientists of the human race have created a vaccine if you will that prevents many ailments the creatures cause on the humans. This includes: vampirism, lycanism, possession of the mind, and soul stealing amongst others. It also blocks the effects of weak to medium powered magic and psychic abilities.
Breeders: These families are at the top of the totem pole that makes up this twisted society. They are the richest and most powerful. They live in luxury while the creatures beneath them suffer.
Royalty: These are the actual inhabitants of the Castle of Bone. They are royal by blood and those in succession to the the throne only marry other royalty; it's quite common for nobles to marry into high-society breeder families. The king doesn't quite know he isn't the most important. It's easier if he doesn't. The royal family never leaves the castle or comes into contact with creatures. Their personal servants and butlers are all human slaves.
Scientists & Engineers: Nearly every child in some part of his or her life dreams of being a scientist or engineer. The best live in the homes of the breeders like a part of the family while the others stay in large dorms near the labs. They work constantly by their own choice. The pay and rewards from their jobs are enviable. Only the best of the best make it here, and the worst of those oftentimes fail. There have been many a time when their jobs have cost them their lives. It is not a profession to be taken lightly.
Blue Collar Workers: This category includes the families of workers. They all live typically normal lives; they work, go to school, marry, have kids. If your parents are blue collar workers, you'll be one as well. Exception of those who go on to become an engineer or scientist.
Poor & Homeless: Their lives can be harder than that of a Tranquil. They live on the streets or in the slums. If there are every any small creature rebellions, they're the ones that are killed. If you are born poor or homeless, you'll stay that way. There is no moving up in the world.
CreaturesWhat is referred to as the creatures ranges from the supernatural to the mythical to those who were experimented on, even if they were born human. Creatures, in fact, have feelings and emotions, whether they be good are bad. They're just cursed, as some sects would argue. Either way, they're too dangerous to be allowed out in the populace. There are powerful creatures in hiding--it is believed they live deep in the catacombs--like demons, even the devil himself, maybe.
Studs: These are the breeders favorite creatures. They often live in less worse conditions than regular creatures. They are exactly what you think they'd be: the cream of the crop. Often times they are lent out to other breeders for hefty prices.
Tranquil: These are creatures that sometimes act out and are lobotomized so that they follow commands without thought. They almost have no thought, they can't even act for themselves unless they are told to do so. Although not able to reason, they can relay information and have memories of steel; they don't forget a single detail. Some creatures that are made Tranquil are made that way because of their looks; they're like trophies to the breeders.
"Cattle": These are the creatures that the breeders don't care as much about as the studs. These are the ones who go up for auction and traded. They're treated like cattle, so that's what they're referred to as.
Laborers: No human wants the jobs in the sewers or in the mines. The laborers are creatures--some Tranquil, some not--who have the dirty, lowly jobs no one wants and the bosses won't pay the poor for. They essentially live in heavily guarded camps with their "families" of other rag tag laborers.
