Invite
Gwendolyn Graceford
1 Wormwood Way
Somewhere, US
Dearest friend,
I do hope this letter finds you in good spirits and full of health. I write to you with exciting news. On the evening of November 27th, I will be hosting a lavish dinner party at Wormwood Manor and wish for you to attend. There will be splendid food and wonderful drink for you to enjoy along with my other guests. We will dance and play games long into the night and experience all the joys that life can offer.
There is one caveat, however. We must ensure, due to the high profile nature of all of us, that this party remains a complete secret. Do not bring any uninvited guests nor spread word of this invitation to anyone. The press must not find us. You must understand how I tired I grow of them. That Violet Rosenbaum has been on my tail for weeks. I'm sure she's bothered many of you as well. That is why it is so imperative that our gathering be kept under wraps.
I do hope to see you there. I look forward to this night more than you can imagine.
My fondest regards,
Gwendolyn Graceford

Gwendolyn Graceford is a well-known socialite burning off daddy's money faster than you can say heiress. She's famous for being famous, no special talent making her worthy of anything. This bothers her to no end and leads her to do anything she can to keep the spotlight on her, including getting into as many scandals as possible. If she tells you to keep a secret, she most definitely wants you to tell someone. If you do and she finds out, though, she'll start a feud with you. That's just the type of person she is.
Violet Rosenbaum is an up and coming reporter who focuses on celebrity gossip. She somehow always has a tip that tells her to be in the right place at the right time to get the hottest scoop. Many people criticize her methods as being too invasive, but she doesn't care. Those methods get her fame and money, and that's what she cares about. She wants to actually be invited to the parties she crashes. But will she go too far this time?
Diana Walker is a locally-adored gothic fashion guru, aspiring psychology student, and feminist activist. Despite what some might consider to be 'unorthodox' methods, she has managed to make a name for herself amongst her circles as a devoted and passionate activist and friend. Diana also writes vampire romance novels under a pseudonym in her free time, and has managed to secure a pretty penny from her published works -- adult novels, not teenage-YA romance like the public is accustomed to. This is classy and mature business. If ever asked, she would love to discuss the intricacies of the business with you, whilst offering you a spot at her next 'club' meeting.
Anastasia Thorne has been a household name since she was a toddler, due to her lovable characters on many well known shows. As far as the world is concerned, she never grew up and she's determined to keep it that way. Known as TV's sweetheart, she has become obsessed with keeping her "role model" image. To those involved in the celebrity life, she is often known as a nuisance. She refuses to be seen near those who could tarnish her reputation and she is known to make her friends sign NDAs before they interact. She doesn't know what to do without her fame, but would she do anything to keep it?

will you solve the mystery?
1.
Literacy. One paragraph per post at the very least. Most posts should be more than that. And by paragraph, I don't mean two short sentences. Your responses should be substantial and keep the story moving even if it's just casual conversation.
2.
Tone. This RP could probably be best described as an absurdist dark comedy/satire. The characters should be larger than life to match what I assure you will be absolutely outlandish plot twists. I left the role section blank so that people can make up their own roles. There isn't a set character limit either. More will be explained when the CS is up. It is also worth noting that this RP doesn't have a set time period. I did this to add to the madness of it all. I want to see Marie Antoinette and Kim Kardashian accuse each other of murder. By that I mean go absolutely ham with your characters, let's watch the world burn.
3.
Age. I know, this is the boring one. But please be at least high school age. Anything under that makes me uncomfortable. I am, however, a minor, so if that makes you uncomfortable, this isn't the RP for you. Characters can be any age at all.
4.
Post frequency. I'm at all picky about this. There's not going to be a set requirement of posts per week or anything, but you have to be active enough to be involved in the story. It's not going to be a huge group of people, so if you're not active, the story loses something. Only commit if you can actually commit. I don't want this dying after a few days.
5.
Relationships. Since this RP is so drama-focused, there's obviously going to be a need to establish relationships beforehand. As for picking the murderer, once I look over your character sheets, I'll decide who I think would have the best motive for killing Violet and DM them. They will not tell the rest of the group who they are. Other relationships can include family ties, marriages, affairs, professional relationships, blackmail and anything else you can think of. This will be something discussed in the OOC chat either before making characters or before the RP begins while we're plotting.
6.
Be nice. I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this is a very drama-heavy RP does not mean there should be drama OOC. I will not tolerate any bigotry, discrimination, or any other form of harassment. If you have a problem OOC, address it in a mature and appropriate manner and it will be dealt with. If you act poorly, you can be kicked from the RP.
