Opal is courageous and self-righteous, believing that what she says is right and isn't afraid to prove so. She is a natural leader and follows what she believes is right instead of the actual laws of the kingdom, which usually ends up with her getting into trouble. Once Opal has an idea in her mind with a plan she is sure to follow it through until it's done, even if things look grim. Because of Opal's status, being one of the few dragon riders left in the world, she can be rather arrogant when talking to others depending on the conversation. As a result of her arrogant and courageous nature she will charge into battle on her dragon without as much fear as she would not fighting, being worried that people who look up to her would start believing that she isn't as great as a dragon rider should be. One of Opal's fears is to be forgotten by the public, which is one of the main reasons why she returned back to Goldenview other than to protect them from the letter which asked her for help.
History:
Opal grew up in Goldenview in a family as a single child. Her father was her role model as she grew up as he was a brave knight that served as part of the cavalry in one of Goldenview's many armies. From an early age she practiced horse riding and swordsmanship a lot as Opal wanted to be a part of the army as well, believing that whoever joined gave them immense respect. She had her own grey horse that she cared for and grew up with, the two growing a deep bond together. Opal eventually ended up following her father's footsteps and joined the army, but not before having many grueling sessions with an experienced knight.
Opal worked in the army for many years and quickly rose in the ranks, ending up having that title of commander before suddenly disappearing from Goldenview altogether along with her mount. She had left to the mountains to have some time to escape from the stressful laws and regulations she had to follow in order to remain well respected by others. During her time up in the mountains she encountered a mighty dragon that had introduced himself as Chatar, the Tough-Skinned. The two, along with Opal's mount, fought for many days and nights, the two never seeming to be able to kill the other. The battle ended only when Chatar managed to knock Opal off of her horse and throw the stallion off of the mountain, leaving Opal all alone. It would've been the end of Opal's story if Chatar had burnt her to a crisp, which he could've very easily done. However he saw potential in Opal and made a deal with her to work together in order to serve the greater good instead of Goldenview, following their own beliefs of what is right and wrong. Opal agreed and so the duo began with a new relationship, travelling the world at their will and doing what's good in their hearts.
Weapons:
Her sword that she was given as a gift after she had joined the Goldenview army.
A shield that she can hide behind. She had it made after she became a commander of the army.
Skills:
1) Riding - Opal can easily maneuver around on a mount after having spent almost her whole life doing so.
2) Swordsmanship - Opal is great at fighting from her many years in the army
3) Leadership - One needs to know how to lead an army to become a commander
4) Drawing - Opal is quite alright at drawing whenever she has the time
5) Running - Opal is surprisingly quick on foot
Magic:
Earth Magic - Opal is still new to magic, and so she isn't great at earth magic

Chatar
Chatar has the ability to breathe an electric blue flame that fries most people to a crisp. His skin is extremely tough, hence his name. You won't be able to cut through it or smash it with a regular weapon. It also has a certain level of resistance against magic, meaning that he can survive against any elemental magic for a couple minutes before it starts to hurt him. He is as long as 3 horses put together and as tall as two horses. He can speak the common language perfectly fine.
