May 17, 2024 the world as we knew it went mad. One instant everything was normal; the next everything and everyone was changing. It was a temporal apocalypse.
The Start Date in the RP will be up for discussion. I am considering about 1-3 years. But I could as easily start right after the Event.
Like the title says, life was either evolved or devolved. One step forward; two steps back. Not just humans were altered. All life was altered.
Cityscapes were radically altered. Some were wiped out as if they never existed. Others crumbled with age. Yet others have been overrun by jungle and wildlife.

Geography altered as well. The Chain of Fire ignited. Massive earthquakes rocked the planet. Global Warming took its toll as oceans rose about 70 meters (230 feet) flooding most coastal cities.
Humans
Devolved Variants (75% of humanity)
Brutes - These are humans with a stone age savagery and sophistication. They will be about 4-6 inches taller than their modern selves were, with enhanced musculature. They will be toughened against the environment and physical abuse. Capable of domesticating animals.
Ferals - These are much like the Brutes, but are the devolved forms of what were once nerds, geeks, very much non-Alpha sorts. Instead of developing brute strength, they developed speed and agility, using their climbing abilities to escape predators. They are a little smaller than their Modern selves, but with wiry strength.
Modern (unchanged - 5%)
Modern Variants (19% of humanity)
Savages - These are Tarzan like humans, aboriginals, or Natives. They will be physically superior to most Modern humans, lacking the decay brought on by consuming junk food. Their senses will be sharper. They will comprehend technology comparable to 3000 BCE to 300 AD. Most will be adapted to survival in the jungle.
Atlantean - These were humans who lived along coastal regions and found their himes suddenly underwater - assuming the home wasn’t erased from time or crumbling. Homes that would have been considered overrun by jungle would instead be part of a new reef. Remember, the ocean will have new and more dangerous predators. Atlanteans will be amphibious, with a dolphin-like adaptation. Their skin will be adapted to the ocean (NOT fresh water, though they can survive it well enough), hands webbed. They will only be able to live on land for a limited time. (Their bodies overheat.) They will also be limited to how deep they can swim - much like a dolphin. (Do some research if you want to run this option.)
Moorlock - These are post atomic horror type mutants. They will be nocturnal, often cave dwelling. They will be highly resistant to radiation, dust, disease and toxins. Many will live near where nuclear power plants once existed or in the deserts of the American southwest.
Evolved Variants (1% of humanity)
Neohuman - a Modern or Modern Variant human with evolved powers.
Power List - note your power choices on your CS.
If you choose lots of mental abilities, you may reflect this physically by having a slightly enlarged forehead, etc. (No need to go overboard.) Savages may treat you as a shaman, doomie, seer, etc.
Groups
It IS possible for mixed groups to exist. This is especially true if the members knew one another before the cutoff date. But they may have joined up since then as well. Amazing with pulling a thorn could do. Note that some mixes just won’t work well. Atlanteans will have a lot of trouble going on land for long periods.
I do not care what sort of human you create. You could all be Savages, Neohumans, or a complete mix or everything.
