Futuristic One Small Step (Space Exploration/Adventure RP)

There was a quiet shuffling on the mostly dark bridge of the Aquarius as the crew positioned themselves for launch. Their pilot broke the silence with a call out to the traffic controller.
Aquarius (Iridescence): Dawner, USG Aquarius, on Dock 084, ready for taxi.

Dawner (Carrier Ship-Tower): USG Aquarius, Dawner, cleared to taxi, prepare for loading (into catapult bay)

Aquarius: Dawner, USG Aquarius, wilco.

Iridescence turned to her co-pilot and gestured rolling her eyes with her head seeing as her face was currently obscured by the ALLSIGHT HUD and Information Suite.
Most of the crew is already seated and those not hastily strap in as mechanical whirring and clanking surrounds the ship. The Aquarius jolted forward with a metallic groan as loading arms latched onto the ship and transported it by rail to a launch bay from the docks.

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner Deck, hold short of bay 012.

The Ship came to a stop in front of an immense closed door, completely taking up the view from the bridge.

Aquarius: Dawner, UGS Aquarius, holding short of Bay 012, ready for take off.

Dawner:..Standby...

Aquarius: Roger, roger!

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, Position and hold.

Aquarius: Ugh...Dawner, Aquarius, holding.

Iridescence slumped in her chair in protest of the dullness of these protocols. The metal on metal scraping reverberated through the cabin as giant blast doors closed behind there ship.

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, beginning depressurization.

There was a loud collection of beeping and flashing lights as the ship detected the depressurization and sealed the beeches in the hull. Iridescence messed with the controls interacting with holograms and tapping touch screens.

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, report pressure regulation.

Aquarius: All money!

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, outer doors opening, you are cleared for the option of take off.

"Yeah, about fucking time..." Iridescence said off comms, quickly doing final prep for ignition and pressing a makeshift button on the instrument panel that began to play music throughout the bridge.

Aquarius: Dawner, UGS Aquarius, Departure......

Finishing up, she ignited the thruster engines. The increasing thrust pushed the ship against the catapult rails that locked them in place.
"Approaching 5 percent thrust, Captain. Jettison in T minus 10, 9, 8, 7..." The hull shook as the the engines fought against the rail's brakes. "4, 3, 2, 1, Launching." Iridescence pulled what seemed to be the only mechanical lever on the bridge, releasing the retainers and shooting the Aquarius out of the side of the space station into the void.

Aquarius: Dawner, UGS Aquarius, accelerating to 5000 km/s

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, hard copy, radar contact.................Caution, traffic at 3 o'clock high, 37,000 km, heavy cruiser.

Aquarius: Dawner, UGS Aquarius, yup, I see em'.

The pilot said as the Aquarius quickly flew towards the titanic mass of a returning warship, the hull of the behemoth ship taking up nearly everything in sight as the passed.
From the side and rear windows, the near moon size space station, (that's no moon....) the Dawner, could be seen getting ever so farther away as their course sent the barreling away from it. The massive influx of other ships leaving and returning mirrored that of the drones of a beehive.

Dawner: UGS Aquarius, Dawner, contact Starboard Tower 24-96 on 1197.6

Aquarius: Dawner, UGS Aquarius, going to Starboard Tower. *Iridescence changes radio frequencies* Starboard Tower 24-96, this is UGS Aquarius, we are entering cruising speed.

Starboard Tower 24-96: UGS Aquarius, Starboard Tower 24-96, roger that.

Iridescence upped the thruster output to 15 percent accelerating them to 30,000 km/s. She playfully spun around in her chair as the ship rocketed out of range, waiting for the last exchange she'd need to have with the space station. After a few moments of chatter among the crew on the bridge, the station chimed back in.

Starboard Tower 24-96:
UGS Aquarius, Starboard Tower 24-96, you are cleared out of class......radar service terminated, squawk VFR.

Iridescence halted her spinning to change the transponder code and responded.

Aquarius: Starboard Tower 24-96, UGS Aquarius, hard copy.

Starboard Tower 24-96: UGS Aquarius, Starboard Tower 24-96, frequency change approved, do you want further advisories?

Aquarius: Oh god, please no.

Starboard Tower 24-96: Loud and clear. Godspeed, Aquarius.

Iridescence fiddled with the console, bringing up a jump menu checklist to activate the jumpdrive. "Here comes the fun part." she said to herself. Turning her chair to face the rest she addressed Arabelle, their navigator. "Yo, I need ya to lock our jump point and send it to the skipper for approval. Try not to put us on course with a star, huh? Thanks!"
With that bit of playful mocking, she swiveled back around and began winding up the jump drive in anticipation to their imminent FTL travel. "Hey, allocate majority power to jump systems and send out a ping to let everyone around know we're about to be outski." she said to her co-pilot as she worked to get the trajectory worked out preemptively to Tyr's approval.
"Captain, we're approaching safe jump distance. I'm gonna need ya to approve that heading and be ready to give me the signal." she said, too preoccupied to turn around this time.

(Point here (if there is any) is so that anyone wanting to do that long-style character intro stuff has a preset context to do it in -during the Aquarius departure sequence thingy-. That way hopefully we're all on the same page for dialogue and don't branch off into separate little interactions and die.)

Tyr rather groggily walked through the bridge and to the cockpit, before turning down the music, and limiting it to the cockpit and bridge. "Iri, you have my clearance to engage the jump. Just.. just keep it down a bit, okay?" The cyborg asked, as he drank from his coffee cup. "I'm a bit hungover from yesterday.."

Bailey Grayson
She was up and moving before many of the other people in board. Not being able to sleep, this happened pretty often, where she just ended up wandering around the ship by herself to keep from having nightmares. It didn't stop her from thinking about shit, but at least she wasn't waking up in a cold sweat. Though currently she was asleep on one of the lounge couches, she was rudely woken up by the ship lurching. "What the hell?" She muttered, rubbing her face to wake up a little. Standing up, Bailey streched, and grabbed her hoddie, quickly putting it in and heading off to go get coffee.

Running a had through her hair, she pushed some stray hairs out of her face as she waited for coffee, then headed down to the bridge to find out where the hell they were headed. Bailey wanted to know of she should start getting her gear ready incase the ground team was sent out. Surprisingly, that wasn't as often as she hoped, and she had been getting restless lately. There wasn't really a place to go and train like on the military battle cruisers. Maybe they'll be able to go out this time, and get some fighting in. If not, she could always go and punch the people she hates.

"Come on, I'm dumb, but not that dumb!" Arabelle protested jokingly. The young woman immediately obeyed. "Coordinates locked. Iri, are you ready?" Arabelle asked, looking over at the pilot. "We are set and ready." She ran her hand through her hair and looked over at Tyr. "Morning, Captain," she said cheerfully.

"Noooice." Iridescence responded to Arabelle's execution of her navigation duties. While everyone was busy with their respective task, she worked to get the ship jump ready by completing all the necessary procedures. As she was finishing up calibrating the forward debris shield her captain gave her permission to jump.
"Aye, aye, captain!" She sang excitedly dropping the menu down and spooling a holographic interface until it shrunk down and turned green once it hit the proper setting. Iridescence giggled in her seat, swinging her legs off the chair as the option to jump appeared. "Alright, hold on to your lederhosen and prepare to jump!" She exclaimed, activating the jump drive and sending the ship across space and to their destination in an instant.
Exiting into the system of their target Iridescence spun around and immediately asked to be relieved. "Can I go now?"

"In a bit, Iri. We still have to go over mission briefing and breakfast." Tyr said smoothly, his voice sounding somewhat tired. "And if it's okay, please be a bit quieter."

"I did not sleep well. My head hurt, like, all fucking night." The cyborg grumbled, as he drank some more water from his coffee cup. He rubbed his forehead with his hand, before scratching his beard (for clarification, Tyr can still feel with his robot arms. There are little touch pads on his hands). Then, he turned to acknowledge Bailey. "Ah. I actually need to talk to you for a bit, Bailey."

"Yeah, morning Arabelle," Bailey said with a slight nod. "I slept like shit, wound up in a couch in the Lounge for an hour...then she ship started moving," She said, a little bitterly, before looking at Tyr with a cocked eyebrow, but nodded. Arturius bid the engine room door to open and stepped through. Once the door shut behind him, Arturius started walking towards the bridge of the ship at a leisurely paced before he god bored and simply used his abilities to fly down the hallways. He didn't care for spending time in the engine, away from everyone else, whenever they were in monitored space, but he knew the repercussions for the Captain and his crew if Arturius were found aboard the ship during a routine, or random, security sweep. Arturius sighed and allowed gravity to once again grip him as he entered the bridge.

"Captain?" He called out as he saw Tyr through the optical sensors in his suit, though he had been able to sense him, and all the crew members, all the way from the engine room.

"Hey, Belle! Sorry I'm late to the party, but you know I had to hide from the 5-O. Did I miss the debrief or anything?" Arturius strolled over to Arabelle and sat down on the floor indian style beside her like a child. One would think that someone as genius as Arturius would speak like a pretentious prick, but Arturius really had a childlike personality and spoke in a way he found the most fun.

"Nope! You missed a lot of boring shit, so don't worry about it. And Tyr is hungover as hell so we were making fun of him. How're you?"

Iridescence was immediately put under the impression Bailey was a hardass based on her look and demeanor. While it was true looks could be deceiving, she felt relatively safe in her assumption. As such, she decided to prod at her, see what she was like and find the most effective ways to annoy her.
"There's no morning in deep space, ground team!"
She briefly thought about making a joke about how Bailey must've never learned how to greet her superior officers, but opted against it. Even though her flight officer status lended sense to the joke, Bailey could still most likely mop the floor with her.
Iridescence laughed at the comments everyone was making about the captain's drinking habits. "Aw, why wasn't I invited?" She asked feigning disappointment.
She tilted her head inquistively while cycling through different visor settings, scanning everyone and seeing what she could find about them. Finally, her entertainment with breaching their privacy ceased and she snapped back into the conversation in time to hear Bailey comment on her sleep.

"Yeah, you look like it too...." She said just barely audibly, causing her co-pilot to stifle a laugh.
Iridescence got out of her chair and started to make her way to the captain's chair.
"Oh captain, my captain!" She addressed him sarcastically. "Can we get along with it? I know you're feeling the effects of regret but we do have a mission...." She leaned in closer to him and whispered. "Plus I'm really hungry.. "
Arturius' entrance provided something else for Iridescence to analyze with ALLSIGHT and something else to fill her time. His anatomy had intrigued her since she'd met him and she never tired of giving him a good once over whenever given a chance.
"Arty!" She yelled, right next to Tyr and much to his dismay.
Iridescence jumped onto his shoulders, locking her legs around them as he sat on the ground and rolled forward pulling him to the ground with her. "When are you gonna let me pop open the that noggin of yours and see what's tickin'?"

Arturius laughed out loud and activated a gravity field strong enough to lift him and Iridescence until they were hanging upside down in midair. "Like I said last time, I don't feel like cleaning your exploded guts off of my suit because exposure to my body overcooked you, so you're never gonna crack anything open. Besides it'd be rude to cause the ship to malfunction just to fulfill your deathwish." Arturius shrugged his shoulders repeatedly to jostle Iridescence up and down. He liked her; she was fun.
