I'm interested in this and have a character in mind, though I'm a little confused on whether the main crew will be the crew of The Paradox, or if that's just a future plot point.

Yes, the "main" crew will be the crew of The Paradox. But unknowingly so it doesn't exactly become a major plot point until later.
