There was an enchanted forest filled with all the classic characters we know.

Or think we know.

One day they found themselves trapped in a place where all their happy endings were stolen.

Our World.

Killian stood on the dock early in the morning. It was peaceful. There was a light breeze which lightly lifted the ends of his long coat, and he watched as the waves crashed against the side of his ship. It was early, the sun yet to peek itself over the horizon leaving him bathed in a soft gray light. He knew he couldn’t waste one moment of daylight, but the thought of leaving the ocean for land left him feeling uneasy, but if he wanted to gut the man he called crocodile and finally find some peace.. Then this was what needed to be done.

He pushed off from the railing, giving the clear blue water one last look before setting off towards the forest. There was a dirt road that led from the port side town to a village that he had heard contained someone who could get him inside the dark one’s home. It was the first news he had heard in well over a year, so he decided he couldn’t take the risk in waiting too long to follow the lead. Part of him had begun to give up on finding the one who had murdered the only person he had loved, but a spark of hope ran through him after learning about this man who could help him..knowing he still had a chance.

“Bloody..” He said, muttering a few curses as the underbrush caught on his pant leg. He had been on the dirt road for a mile or two, the forest beginning to get denser the farther north he went. He had been warned several times in town about this route, with all the bandits that traveled it. While he thanked them for their concern, he refrained from telling them that he himself was one as well. He hoped the rumors were true, that this plan of trekking through the forest wouldn't be a waste of time at the end of it. His boots crunched down, snapping a fallen tree branch in his path. He walked too loudly, making too much noise and it was obvious he didn't belong there.

The sword he carried hung lose around his waist, the small flask tucked safely in his pocket. He didn’t need much else.. He hadn’t planned on being away from the Jolly Roger any longer than he needed.

Lana covered herself with her cloak to ward off the cold as she curled her body closer together. She had stayed the night in a hollowed out tree, and from her position she hadn’t moved much during the night. She had been thankful it hadn’t been cold enough to snow, since the tree provided little shelter above her - though the sides did protect her from the sharp winds. She blinked several times, letting her eyes adjust to the light filtering in. She wasn’t exactly sure where she was, only that she was settled a good ways from the nearest town.. For her own protection.

She rarely made the trip into town, only when she felt desperate enough to trade what little she had for food or warmer clothes. While part of her considered trading in her shoes that started to gather holes in it, she knew they would last the rest of the season and she would have to wait until spring if she wanted to take the trip there. The ground was frozen beneath her, even with her cloak a chill had set into her muscles making it hard for her fall back asleep. She wanted nothing more than to let sleep take her for a few more hours, but even as she laid there she knew the effort was futile.

Stretching out her stiff limbs, she moved from her spot in the hollow tree out into the small clearing. She wasn’t too far off the trail and could easily see it from her kneeling position beside the fallen oak. She didn’t risk taking the main roads through the forest, but instead taking the smaller trails that ran beside it. Getting to her feet, she grabbed for her small tattered bag before slinging her homemade bow around her shoulders. The sun was starting to warm up the earth, so she let her cloak drape loosely around her as she set off down the worn out path.

The forest was quiet, except for a few song birds that were starting to wake up for the day and she enjoyed these few peaceful moments as she quickened her pace along the trail.

With the rising sun filtering through the leaves of the dense forest, creatures and animals alike started to rise from it as those who were nocturnal took their turn to slumber through the bright hours. With those creatures included both humans as well as non. One individual in particular being a wood sprite, rising from her usual resting spot high up in a tree, where the sunlight easily found it's way to her face, shining in her eyes and waking her. A hardly coherent grumble in protest to waking had left her lips, as she rolled over to evade the sunlight, only to successfully roll herself right out of the tree-limb she'd made her bed that night.

Gasping as sensation of falling instantly woke her, her eyes shot wide open, her quick and natural reflexes easily catching her on the next branch just beside the one she'd fallen off of. Even in her half awake state, she was naturally inclined to her connections with the forest, and particularly the nature of it all around her. Now fully awake though, she hummed to herself in thought as she contemplated what she wanted to eat for breakfast that morning. Despite having mixed feelings from the humans about her kind, she thankfully didn't need to rely on them for food or such other things, and being in tune and connected with the forest in a way, she was easily able to find natural foods within it, including desired fruits that only thrived in the high tops of towering trees, dangerously out of reach for humans. For her though, it was hardly a challenge to reach them with her flexibility in her short height as well as light weight, easily knowing which branches were safe to step on and those that weren't.

As she was contemplating what to eat though, something caught her attention not to far off from where she was. Or rather, someone. The person wasn't within sight or hearing distance, yet a sprite's natural inclination to detect those who were troubled and in need of assistance was easily triggered by this unfamiliar individual. Though, despite sprites generally always meaning to do well and good in assisting others, due to their mischievous behavior it often lead to more trouble - a primary reason that many humans steered away from them, despite the promises of certain help in their times of need.

Curiosity getting the better of her as it always did in such instances, she smoothly transitioned between the branches of the trees, heading in the direction the presence was without ever having to touch the ground. As she neared the individual, she watched him curiously from her perch up in the trees. He clearly didn't belong in a forest, and she couldn't help but smile a bit in amusement as she followed him, silently and hidden in the trees. Though when his pant-leg got caught on some under brush and tugged at his clothing, causing the male to curse and grumbled to himself in annoyance, she couldn't help but giggle at the amusing sight. Being so inclined to the nature and woods herself, it was always entertaining to watch individuals, especially humans, struggling not to trip over a simple twig or something. Realizing that her laugh that lightly echoed around them gave away her presence, she just smiled innocently down at the man as he looked around for the source, before he would find her sitting up in the tree above him.

"First day with the forest legs?" she playfully teased the man.

Over the previous day Graham had been rather rudely and unfortunately disturbed in his otherwise peacefully silent and uneventful life. What he had intended to be a normal day of hunting had turned into one irritation after another. In his normal course through the forest, the weather had turned sour, and begun to rain. It wasn't exactly pleasant, but it also wasn't anything that would bother him. Perhaps hinder any trails he might find and follow, but that was nothing that would normally irritate him. However, that weather and increased tracking difficulty lead to him stumbling upon human tracks instead of animal ones. Yet, upon the notice of bear markings, he further followed them anyways, and in the end was resulted with a gruesome, unfinished kill, where a bear was left suffering in the rain and mud of the forest floor.

That's where his mood first really turned sour and aggravated. After that he followed tracks to the human who'd dealt the lethal but slow kill to the bear, and then furthermore after that somehow none other than the Evil Queen had shown up before him asking for his assistance. Well, she made it appear as though she had been asking at first, anyways. But with the incident of the bear Graham was already in a foul mood, unwilling to help anyone, especially a human. One might consider it ironic considering he of course was a human himself, but never had he really identified as them. Of all the humans he'd met, they were always selfish in some form or other, taking the earth and the land that provided them with a living for granted. So, with his bitter mood he'd declined the Queen, not caring to help anyone in that moment and particularly someone who had such a self-agenda as she did.

But in the end he wasn't really left with much of a choice. Considering she now quite literally had his heart in her hands, he could bend his will to whatever she desired. Which right now, was a certain individual's heart other than his own. He was given the promise she wouldn't kill him - though he honestly didn't hold the woman up to one with such integrity and honor - and that he would get his own heart back in exchange for Snow Whites. Someone she seemed more than eager to complain to him about all the wrongs she had done to her. Something futile, something Graham hardly cared to listen to. The last thing he was interested in was getting involved in personal drama and politics. It seemed he hadn't much of a choice of that anymore, though.

So now here he was, tracking through the dense forest in search of the woman the Evil Queen wanted dead. And while she wasn't currently forcing him to by command over his heart, he was currently set on completing the task anyways. He didn't care about humans, or their agendas. He was a good Huntsman, one of the best many would suggest, so he figured he'd get this girl's heart, give it to the Queen, get his own heart back, and be back on his way to minding his own business. He already had a trail on the woman he was hunting, so he believed, and with the help of his canine friend, was tracking her down. With his tracking skills, it didn't take him long to find a woman matching the description and image the Queen had provided for him, and he grabbed his bow and arrow at the ready to fire "Stop there, Snow White!" he called, the silver-furred wolf circling around to the other side of the woman so she couldn't run.

Killian barrled through the shurbbery and darted underneath low hanging branches as he contiuned down the path towards the village. He had been told it wasn't too far from the port town, and he was starting to become uneasy with how long it was taking him. He didn't have much of a navigation when it came trudging through the dense forest. All he could gather was that he was heading north, which he had been told was the right dirction. Traveling by foot was a lot slower than he was used to when he was out at sea, and to say he was agitated was an understatement. He was growing more frustrated by the minute, but he kept reminding himself why he was here. Why he was out in the bloody god-damn forest instead of back on his ship. Even if it meant he'd die out here it would all be worth it if it meant he had a shot at finally finding the dark one.

Finding the dark one was something that had consumed Killian for many decades. He had to stave off the idea that it was, in fact, his fault that the dark one had come after him and had taken the only thing worth living in his life. If he hadn't been an arrogant bastard maybe things would've been different. Maybe the dark one would've left them alone to live in peace, if he had even became the dark one at all. The what if's alone were enough to drive him mad, though it usually only ended up with long sleepless night. He pushed the dark haired woman from him mind before pressing on.

He hadn't noticed the girl watching him from the tree braches above, he had been too distracted to really notice anything other then the path. The soft ring of her laugh made him stop short, turning around to scan the area. His eyes darted through the schrubbery and tree trunks that were connected to the forest floor, though came up empty. He could feel eyes on him, and it wasn't until she spoke again that he stopped his search and looked up. There she was, a girl staring down at him from the branch above. His first thought had been human, when he looked at her but after another glance he saw the pointed shape of her ears.

The corners of his mouth turned up at her joke, and he nodded up at her. "Aye.. that obvious then?" While he wasn't sure if this creature was friendly, Killain was fairly confident in his swordsmanship that he could defend himself if necessary.. if it came down to it. The thought of mermaids popped into his mind, wondering if her kind was similar - just without the tail. "I'm afraid I'm a little out of my element out here.." It had been many years since he had stepped thorugh a forest.

+

Lana's heart raced as she heard the footsteps through the forest, her eyes scanned the immediate area looking for the source hoping it wasn't attached to anything human. While she wasn't particulary against humans, she still took effort in trying to avoid the contact as much as possible. She had grown up in a small village outside a neighboring kingdom, on a small farm with her family. It had been pleasent enough, and it wasn't until reaching her late teen years that everything shifted. The dozens of fliers for her capture were posted all along the main roads through the forest and in the village she lived in, making it impossible to stay there any longer. Even now she would still come across one tacked against a tree along the side of a trail before tearing it to shreads. She knew back then that eventually the queen would show up or one of her henchmen would spot her and that would be the end of her existance.

Though, they had seemed to have gotten her name wrong. It was something she had always been curious about - if it was her they were actually after or if maybe the picture on the flier only resembled someone like her. She knew she couldn't take the risk anyways, just looking similar was enough reason for someone to give her over to the queen. Especially with the hefty reward they were offering in return. Her grip tightened on her bow as she was brought back to the situation she was now currently finding herself in. Human. It was definitely human.

She quickened her pace. Taking her bow from around her shoulders, she let it rest against the front of her body so she would be ready for an attack. While being a rather good tracker herself, she knew she was being hunted. And she was right.. not several steps later a name was called out and the eyes of a silver wolf pierced through her as it stepped in the way of her path. She eyed the wolf first, making sure it wouldn't lunge after her and when she felt confident enough to turn around she lifted the bow away from her body and out towards the man who had been persuing her.

She was taken aback once her eyes fell over the man. He was a lot younger than she had first been assuming, along with the fact that he wasn't a palace guard. "I think you're mistaken." She said, he voice wavering a bit at first. "You must not be a good tracker if you can't even find the right person." She tested, though knew her attempt to defend herself wouldn't do much good. She was outnumbered.

She smirked down at him at his reply of how obvious it was "Hmm, only a little" she replied jokingly, since it seemed he was more than aware of how misplaced he was as well. She had to wonder just what he was doing in the forest, aside from not looking like he belonged in it, he clearly was uncomfortable in the forest as well. She wondered if the struggle she sensed coming from him had lead to him coming to his forest. Whatever it was that haunted and consumed him so much was enough for him to follow it into unfamiliar territory for him, a place he clearly didn't belong or know all that well. While it was unusual for many humans to wander this far within the forest, they usually at least looked more comfortable in it. He by far was definitely the most uneasy of anyone she'd ever met wandering into the forest.

Humming out lightly in thought, she swung a leg over to the neighboring branch to the one she sat on, moving to sit there instead so now she was about a foot in front of the male, instead of on a branch directly overhead of him. However instead of sitting there, her bare legs and bare feet hooked over the relatively thin branch - though strong enough to support her, clearly - and she let her body fall effortlessly so she now hung upside-down from the branch, hanging from where the branch was under her bent knees. She was almost eye level level to his face now, albeit from hanging from above, upside-down, and she leaned at bit closer "You smell of the sea" she commented lightly, as she let her hanging body fall back straight down instead of leaning towards him, her natural silvery purple hair swaying in the gentle breeze as she looked back at his brown eyes "You've wandered rather far, haven't you?"

His mention of being out of his element here was already more than obvious to her, along with the fact she had deduced he was a sailor of sorts. And while she didn't stray away from the forest too often, she still knew what a sailor looked like. And it certainly wasn't him. "I'm curious what would prompt a sea-legged man this deep into the forests by himself. Surely it can't be anything that important" she tried, her meddlesome and mischievous traits of her kind coming to surface as she tried to figure out what his purpose was and how to help him, naturally being inclined to want to help such a troubled soul.

~

Having found the face to match the person he was to retrieve - or more specifically the heart of the person he was to retrieve - he was glad it had been rather easy. He wasn't arrogant, but he did know he was skilled enough he could easily subdue the woman and take her heart. He was a hunter after all. Even if he didn't particularly hunt humans....in the end they were an animal just the same as any other, and just the same to track and kill as any other. He didn't particularly fancy killing a young woman, but his fate with his heart in the queens hands wasn't giving him all that much of an option. He wasn't selfish either, but if it would free himself and save his own future over that of someone he didn't know, and who apparently had committed crimes as well, then he would take that trade.

Holding his arrow drawn back on his bow, the string tight as he eyed her, he furrowed his brows a bit at her words, though hardly believed them. Surely she was just trying to save her own skin - besides, she certainly didn't look surprised to being hunted as she was in this moment. "I don't think I am" he replied back out to her steadily, in a confident voice as he met her gaze. Though something about when he made eye contact with her threw him off for a moment, begged him to lower his guard and weapon. He didn't, though he also didn't release it either.

"I can assure you my tracking has not led me astray" he commented as he glanced over to a tree, seeing one of the many fliers for her warrant pinned up there by a nail "Can you tell me that you are not that same woman? I would be a fool to think otherwise" he replied out, since the resemblence was by far identical. However, glancing to the wolf, something about it's behavior confused him. It had approached closer to the woman - not threateningly, but enough to catch her scent more clearly. And while the wolf obviously couldn't speak, Graham had grown up with it that he might as well be able to speak with it. This woman didn't carry the same scent as that which the queen had provided for them to aid in tracking.

The creature seemed to be friendly enough, and Killian didn't feel the need to reach for the sword loosely hung around his waist. He still had suspicions she might be the forest's version of a mermaid, but usually, at least with mermaids, they were up front about trying to kill if it was what they wanted. He also knew they weren't always cruel, and his mind reminded him of the dark haired girl with the beautiful singing voice who had accompanied him and his men for many months. His glance shifted as he watched the girl moved to a new position above him, watching as she peered down at him before becoming more eye level.. and upside down. She had seemed to figure him out within a minute of meeting, while here he stood no farther to a conclusion about her. "Aye, yes. Usually you can find me at sea, but I have some business in Nottingham that has taken me away. You wouldn't happen to know the way would you?"

He kept his statement short, not wanting to inform her of the real reason why he needed to get to Nottingham before the sun set. She seemed to know her way around this forest, it was an easy guess to think she might know every path that ran through it. "Traveling by foot is not my specialty." He muttered, looking around the forest slightly as it would shift at any moment. He had always be somewhat like this, growing up on the ocean made him feel the same way any human would feel about their home. And right now, he was homesick. It's a hard life living on a ship, but he hadn't known any different. If he had been raised on land he might feel differently, but to him life at sea was all he knew.

"The town I left from is a few miles south. I was told Nottingham was only a few hours.." He looked around again, "..though I think I might be lost." He said, before staring up at the top of the trees. The coverage there made it difficult to see the sky from where he stood, though even if he could see it, it might not do much good. Being at sea they mainly mapped out their journey at night, where they could follow the constellations and even then there's an open sky most nights. He shifted his weight to one foot as he leaned against the nearby tree, this time looking at the girl and waiting to see what she had to say.

They seemed to be at a standstill, arrows pointed at the other. With the wolf beside her, Lana was still wary it might lunge towards her with a simple command. She wouldn't be able to fight it off along with the full grown man in front of her. Maybe running was the best idea.. though how far could she really get with a wolf after her? No, the only way to survive this would be some sort of miracle unless she could talk her way out of it..even then her chances were slim to none. He looked at her like she was his next target, like he had already made up his mind about killing her. He motioned towards the flier tacked to a nearby tree, as if he had proven his point. She stared at the paper, chipped from weather and age and even she had to admit the resemblance was uncanny. She couldn't blame this man for mistaking her, even she'd admit someone would have to be blind not to mistake her for this 'snow white'.

"I assure you sir, it has." She said decidedly at his comment about his tracking not leading him in the wrong direction. She wondered how long he had been tracking her, or if he only now he showed up. Maybe she should've taken a different way instead of following down the same path as yesterday. It was foolish to think she had been safe. She leaned forward, gripping a nearby flier before crumpling it in her fist and tearing it from the tree. "I am from Avonlea, a small village. Let me reassure you, I've never stepped inside the palace gates." It was true, she was only the daughter of farmers and she had never even seen the royal city before with her own eyes.

Silver moved out of the corner of her eye, and she moved her head to look at the wolf as it approached her. Her hold on her weapon faltered, though she did not lower it but at the same time did not point it towards the animal. She held it against her body, protectively out in front of her with the arrow still loaded in place. The animal seemed to survey her, as if inspecting if she was really a threat or not. It was not aggressive, in fact it seemed almost friendly as it sniffed her pant leg. "I feel your attack dog might need a few more lessons." She teased as the grip on her weapon lightened. She had the strange urge to reach out and touch the silver fur, though resisted against it. She wasn't about to risk the animal getting defensive with her approach.

Watching the man with curious eyes, she could tell that he was equally curious about her. Or perhaps it was more so skepticism, as though he was trying to read her and figure out of she was a threat or not. It wouldn't surprise her, the way he acted like he had never seen her kind before. It wasn't surprising should he really be a sailor of sorts and always out at sea. Although, he may have run into 'cousins' of her species. Not actual cousins, of course, but rather like she was a wood sprite, dwelling within forests usually, he may have very well likely run into a water sprite, which tended to live more in the oceans and other bodies of water. Though, then again, she figured perhaps not. Water sprites tended to stay away from oceans, as mermaids which they often got confused for, had generally taken over the seas. Mermaids tended to be more violent, and while they had many similar physical attributes, they were different than Water Sprites or Nymphs, which generally were more docile and minded their own business. Water sprites also had the ability to freely "grow" legs when out of water, compared to mermaids which only could during high tides. So thinking about it more, she figured perhaps he really hadn't met even a water sprite before.

Shrugging the curiosity from her mind, she focused back on his words when he mentioned where he was going, having some sort of business to attend to there. She raised a brow in thought as she looked to him, smiling innocently "Sure, I know the way to Nottingham" she admitted when he had asked, before continuing on "Would you like me to help you?" Her offer sounded innocent enough. And granted, it was innocent, not malicious in any way. However that didn't mean it wasn't misleading. Her agenda was to help this man in his troubled turmoil, whatever that may be. With offering to help him after declaring she knew the way to where he was going, it would be understandable to assume and read it as she was going to help him get to Nottingham. However, she had never said that. It was true she knew the way. And It was true she would help him, should he agree (though she'd probably try and help regardless, as was the nature of her kind). But she would help him in an unexpected way, in a different way, not with where he was going, but with himself and his troubles deep down, not just the surface troubles which surfaced out as revenge.

Noticing the way she stared up through the tops of the trees, as though they might provide him with some form of directional support, she smiled a bit in amusement, watching as he moved back to lean against the trunk of the tree she was hanging upside down from - still. How all the blood hadn't rushed to her head by now was a wonder. "Can't see the skies as well as from your ship here can you?" she hummed out, swinging her body a bit, so that she gained enough momentum in her swing that when she unhooked her legs from the branch and let them fall, she easily flipped her body in the air for her bare feet to land on the rubbled forest floor, her short height now more apparent as she stood on the ground before him "Lost? I'd certainly agree that you are" she commented, though her words only a further play in tribute to her mischievous spirit, like how she offered to help him but it wasn't for what he thought or assumed. Similarly, this time she agreed he was lost, not on his way to Nottingham however, but more morally and lost in life. "Why don't you let me help you?" she encouraged once more.

Despite his friend's behavior and noticing that the scent was different than the one that they had just been following. Perhaps by chance this woman was different than the one he was searching for? He didn't doubt his friend's nose, and he eyed the girl carefully. Had she truly just been in the wrong place at the wrong time? He had certainly been following the trail along with the confirmed scent that they were given his wolf friend assured him. So they had been on the right trail, that much he was certain of. His tracking skills never failed him. But then along this track he'd fund this identical looking girl, whom claimed and smelled differently than the one they were in search of. That really was terribly unfortunate coincidence. She was passing through the area of a recent trail from a woman who was identical to her and wanted by none other than the queen herself.

Looking back to the woman with slight uncertainty, he wasn't entirely sure what to make of the situation. The more she spoke and he stayed her, the longer he felt as though she was telling the truth. And he was typically pretty good at discerning when humans were lying to him or not. Hearing her further state where she was from, he hesitated a moment longer as he considered it, and eventually, he began to lower his weapon. He was a pretty good read on people, typically because he disliked them more than other animals, so he trusted his instincts, a sense that he had grown up surviving off of, and fully lowered his weapon as he looked to her.

"Avonlae is quite a distance from the palace, if I recall correctly" he noted, not really sure where he was going with that. He wasn't typically good at conversing with people, another reason he didn't care to be around them all too often. Rather, his statement of the fact was more so a confirmation that she was not the woman he was looking for, and that if her words of where she came from were true, then there was no way this was the same woman that the Queen hated and wanted the heart of. "If you are not Snow White, who are you then?" There were still several confusions about the situation, mainly how she resembled the girl in question so much. Perhaps it really was unfortunate coincidence, but something still didn't seem to add up entirely about it just being coincidence. For now, he decided to shake that thought from his mind, before frowning at something she had said "He's not my dog" he stated firmly, having never once considered the wolf as anything close to a pet, nor did he appreciate it being referred to as such. Just because he was human made him no better than the wolf, if anything it was more of a brother to him.

The corners of his mouth turned up at her. Blinking, he nodded, choosing to observe her from where she hung. It wasn't a moment later she began to swing herself from the branch before landing in front of him. He hadn't noticed her size while she was above him, it was only now that he could see the significant difference in their stature. He stood over a foot taller than her, though she seemed indifferent to this. She must be used to her height, he thought, though it might take him a moment or two. He wasn't a tall man himself, but standing there he felt a foot taller then he actually was. When she openly agreed with him being lost, he mentally cursed himself for not being as prepared as he should have been. He wondered how far off his path he had wandered, and if he would make it to the village before dark. He didn't however know that she was mentioning a different type of lost.

"There aren't as many trees out at sea." He joked, placing a hand over his eyes to visor the sun as he looked up.

Returning his glance to hers, he dropped his hand back down at his side."Yes, I would be much obliged.." He smiled, looking down at her. "..If you could lead me in the right direction." He looked away from her after that, stepping back to once again lean against a nearby tree. He was quite lost, in more ways than one though at the time didn't see it that way. He had been told to grieve, to allow himself to feel the emotions that others felt when people they loved died. He hadn't done it was his father or with Liam.. he had removed himself from letting those feelings take over him, and while he believed this was helpful it would never truly allow him to move on.

Instead he had settled on revenge. If he couldn't find peace with his family, then he would have to make his own peace. First starting with the dark one - if he could in fact get himself there. He wondered if this woman would lead him on the wrong path, towards his enviable death no doubt. But he decided on taking her guidance, because what other choice did he really have. He was lost, somewhere in a forest he didn't know. The only other plan he had was to walk back in the direction he had come from and try again tomorrow.

She shook her head humorously before lowering her own weapon. She had not meant her words in any offending manner, though she honestly didn't care how he took it. He was no friend of hers, in fact he was the one who had raised his weapon first against her. She decided to take the subject back on his earlier set of questions. Even though she had decided to answer as truthfully as she could.. she could not fully reveal herself to him.. this information could lead back to her family, endangering them more than she had already done. No, she would keep it a vague as possible. "Yes, it is." She said referring to her home being far away. "I had to leave with the ogre wars taking over that part of the country." While this was mostly true, she left for the sole reason of getting herself as far away from her family as possible. She sighed a little, wondering how the village was now after so many years. Had they cleared the ogres away? Did everyone have to move away, and if so would she ever see her family again..

She eyed him skeptically before answering, hoping the answer wouldn't do much harm. "My name is Lana." She said, leaving out her last name.

"And who are you? Why have you been tracking me?" She asked, her tone somewhat harsh. While her face was plastered throughout the country, she had never found herself being tracked before. No one had seemed to openly try and take her to the queen.. though by the way his animal was acting maybe the palace's hounds never picked up her scent, since it wasn't her they were looking for in the first place. That's a bit of luck, she thought before looking back over at the man. What was he planning on doing with her once he made up his mind?

Part of her was somewhat frighten, that he would take her anyways to the palace just the make sure - though he had lowered his weapon, maybe he hadn't planned on taking her. She silently prayed this would be the outcome, then she could continue on her way and hopefully this would all be a bad dream. She could still make it to the lake by sunset, even with this delay. She needed fresh water, by the looks of her empty canteen.

Lips quirked into a small, amused smile at his joke of there not being quite as many trees out at sea to block the sky. "Hmm, you don't say?" she commented lightly, as she now stood on the ground, standing only a few feet away from him where he had leaned back against the tree and seemed more than willing at her offer to help him, which only caused her smile to grow, evermore pleased at his answer. Of course...he was probably thinking he was going to be getting a different kind of help than what she was intending to give. However she was smart enough to know his kind by now - had she upright confronted him with his problems weighing him down, and how she intended to help him, he almost certainly would have refused her right away. Not that it would have kept he from her quest to help him now, though it made things easier not to have to deal with outright rejection and refusal.

"Well then, come on" she motioned as she started to walk ahead once he had confirmed he wanted her help in showing him the way. Only she would end up showing him the way to something else, hopefully, a sort of salvation - something along those lines, anyways. Now with the confirmation he willingly wanted her to help him, she decided to pry a bit more. While his clear inner struggle and grief turmoil inside of him had caught her attention, it's not like she could read minds, so she still didn't know what the root of all his pain and troubles was exactly.

"I'm Maeve by the way" she finally introduced, feeling he might talk more about himself if he knew more about her as well "I'm a wood sprite. Doubt you see many of my kind at sea. We prefer the solitude and peace of the trees and woods surrounding us" she commented with a smile as she glanced to her side at him "Speaking of the sea, what kind of sailor are you? I may not be familiar with the waters myself, but I at least know as much that you don't appear dressed like any navy-man of the sorts" she commented curiously, starting with more basic prying at first. After all if she just started off the bat with 'What are your deepest troubles' she doubted that would get her very far in her prying and quest to help him.

When she started to answer his questioned regarding her origins and just who exactly she was if not Snow White, he listened as she explained fleeing from her town due to the ogre wars. Anyone their age or older had been exposed to the ogres and the wars to some extent, so he could relate a bit in understanding the need to flee. A human, especially an ordinary unarmed human didn't have all that much of a chance going up against an ogre. Many villages had been destroyed along with lives lost. Watching her a moment longer, while he did sympathize, he still didn't entirely trust her, and he could tell she felt the same about him - not that he particularly blamed her or anything, as she had every right not to trust someone who'd just been holding an arrow aimed at her. Even if by now he had lowered it and was questioning if she was Snow White or not. Currently, he was leaning towards believing she truly was innocent.

"What about your family, then?" he asked curiously after she hadn't said much about them or her village "Did they not leave with you?" he asked curiously. Or....perhaps they'd already been victims to the ogres' rampages. The question could be opening up the door to a hard answer, but he needed to get to the bottom of who she was exactly if he was going to trust her word that she was in fact who she said she was - or, technically in this case who she said she wasn't. For now though he did trust enough to keep his weapon lowered, though still keeping an eye on her in case she suddenly tried to run. He doubted she would...she seemed like a logical enough woman, and he guessed she was smart enough to know she couldn't outrun a wolf - and he doubted himself either.

He was further relieved when she gave her name....even though she could easily lie about it if she were Snow White, especially considering the fact she didn't provide her full name...it was a start at least, he supposed. And as soon as she had answered his question, she was inquiring him back about who he was and why he was hunting her. He paused a moment, before deciding to be truthful "My name is Graham. Though many call me the Huntsman" he commented, his lips quirking into a slight smirk at that "As you might guess I'm rather good at hunting" he further commented, as though attempting a friendly joke cnsidering he clearly had found her, yet she didn't seem to be the woman he was actually looking for "If you are who you say you are, then I'm not tracking you per say. I'm looking for Snow White. I'm sure you're aware the Queen wants her" he commented, slinging his bow back over his shoulder and putting the arrow back in the quiver. At this point he was pretty determined she was not the woman he was looking for. "I don't typically hunt people, let alone work for them, but the queen....well, she can be rather persuasive, I suppose..." he commented as he trailed off, not going into detail about the fact she quite literally had his heart.

"Lead the way lass.." He smiled, following closely behind her. He wasn't sure where exactly she was leading him, and hoped the wood sprite was as genuine as he hoped; his entire plan depending on him getting to Nottingham before dark. He had a lot riding on this, but being lost as he was he knew he had little choice in the matter. Unless of course, he wanted to wander the countryside alone until coming upon it. "Killian." He said simply after she had introduced herself. While many knew him by his other name.. Hook. He wasn't sure if a wood elf..or was it a sprite? Anyways, if she knew who he was she would probably be less inclined to help a pirate out on his revenge journey. So he kept his answers vague, and hoped they would pass her inspection.

"I've always lived at sea.. even as a boy." He said, stepping carefully over fallen logs and tree branches. "I was a navy man.. at one point. It's been many years since that. Now I just wander the sea.. I guess you could call me a tradesman." He chuckled slightly. Sure, trader of items that were not his own. But it wasn't too far from the truth. Some winters when ships were not out as frequently, they could make a small amount of coin to last them the season from the items they have from other lands - though this was sometime before his obsession with finding the dark one, and he was more concerned for his own livelihood.

"And what about you?" He asked, trying to change the topic off of him and away from her prying questions. "Have you always lived in the forest?" Though her kind may not be able to leave the woods, except maybe for a short period like mermaids around high tide. But he was unfamiliar with sprites, and it was in his nature to be curious. "Do you not wish to see the world outside of here?" He teased, looking around as if the forest was a cage. It was somewhat to him, he was used to open landscape and with all these trees he felt boxed in.

"I'm here alone..as you see. I don't have any family." She trailed off, wondering if this statement was a true or not. It was possible her family and village had been taken over by the rampaging ogres, and if she did ever go back home there might be nothing left for her to go back to. She hoped this wasn't the case, though she had left sometime before the talk of having to flee outlying villages became an issue. She may never know what became of her family, and a small pang of guilt washed through her. She made it out, but what if they didn't? She had an older brother, at the time she was still home, who had been sent off to the frontlines.. though she had never learned what had happened to him either. He only had a few months left of his contract, so there was a possibility he was fine and living somewhere safe.

The corners of her mouth lifted at his attempt at a joke. "Yes.. I see huntsman that you're a pretty good tracker.. it's too bad you were tracking the wrong person." She smiled, adding to the joke. She was slightly relieved he seemed to believe her, and if the queen had sent him he more than likely had a scent trail to follow.. which would be the reason for the wolf.. and of course why it wasn't attacking her.

When he changed the subject to snow white, she lifted her gaze to stare at him again. Of course she knew.. why else would she have fled her home and was now hiding out in this forest. Though of course, he didn't know all of the particulars of her story so she only nodded. "Yes.. I've seen the fliers." She teased, before uncrumpling the paper in her hand and looking more fully at it. "Is she really responsible for all this?" She asked, holding the paper out for him to see the bold letters that read: MURDER< TREASON< TREACHERY. "I've never seen this woman with my own eyes in my entire life." She answered honestly, she couldn't help him find her if she wanted. "I'm guessing the Queen had quite a hold on you.. unless of course you enjoy hunting down people."

As she began leading him through the forest, she wasn't heading in any direction in particular - though she of course knew where she was at all times, knowing every foot of this forest like the back of her hand, despite the fact it all probably looked the same to the unfamiliar and stranger's eyes, much like it probably did to Killian. However she didn't head directly back to the port town in which he had come from, though that was the end goal, rather than leading him to Nottingham, since if she headed directly there, they would make it there in no time, and the less time she had to talk to the man before he realized what she was doing, the less time she'd have to figure him out a bit more, and thus, figure out how she could help him.

She nodded her head lightly to show that she was listening as he explained having pretty much always lived at sea, even as a young boy. Curiously, she glanced to his hand - or rather, lack thereof - and nodded to it as she spoke "And have you always had a hook for a hand?" she asked curiously. She highly doubted that was the case, but she was curious abut it. After all, it wasn't particularly a normal thing....having a hook for a hand. Most people would find some other more natural looking prosthetic of the sorts. She wasn't entirely convinced of his explanation of being a tradesman either, but she didn't argue it. Of all the types of sailors there were, she'd guess he most looked like a pirate...though perhaps the menacing hook attached to his arm gave that implication as well.

"Me?" she repeated curiously "For the most part yes I've always lived in the woods. Sometimes I'll wander out of them for a change of scenery, so long as there is wood nearby considering I thrive off of it. I'm not called a wood sprite simply for living in the woods" she joked lightly as she continued on the random long-way path towards the port town as she continued to try and indirectly learn more about him and pry further "So what business do you have in Nottingham, anyways? I figure it must be rather important to pull you so far away from the sea."

~

He nodded his head lightly at her comment of lacking any family, or anyone for that matter, here with her, as if sensing the uncertainty in her voice. He didn't comment on it, since honestly he doubted any common villagers survived raidings from the ogres during the time of the most recent war if they hadn't gone up and left like Lana had. If that was the truth of what she was saying, anyways. He still wasn't entirely sure he believed her completely, though he did believe that she was an innocent woman, and not the one the queen was after. Even if by chance she was the same woman the queen was looking for...she seemed friendly and genuine enough.

Regardless of if she was "Lana" or "Snow", the more time he spent with her the more convinced he was he couldn't turn her up. Even before the Queen's hiring him - or rather forcing him now, with her having his heart as his return payment, he wasn't sure he believed Snow White was capable and responsible for all the things the Queen said about her, and that the wanted posters declared. While he'd never met said Snow White in person, everyone in these parts had heard of her, and how much she'd always tried to do, always selflessly and for the people. He wasn't sure he could give someone like that up.

Already further set on his task to retrieve Snow's heart for the queen, he was thinking of how he might be able to get out of this. Perhaps any heart would do? After all, he only needed to trick her for long enough to get his own heart back. As he was considering this, his attention was brought back to Lana as she was returning his joke regarding his hunting skills, and then further commenting about Snow and the queen's hold on him, causing a short, bitter scoff of a laugh to fall from his lips "You could say that" he replied to her comment regarding the queens hold on him "I don't enjoy hunting people no. I'd rather no if I could help it" he spoke as his eyes glanced to the paper in her hands "I've never met the girl, but don't believe she is, no."

The walk was pleasant enough, though to say he knew where he was going couldn’t be farther from the truth. When she mentioned his hand, he looked down examining it for a few moments before looking up. "No, unfortunately it happen quite recently." It wasn't exactly a lie, while it had been almost two hundred years ago, biologically speaking it had only been several months. Since he hadn't aged in his time in Neverland, he figured that time didn't count - and wasn't too thrilled about the idea of explaining his time there. "Lost it in a fight..better my hand than my head." He joked, chuckling somewhat. "The hook was all I had at the time to replace it.. now I don't think I could part with it." He smiled wide before pushing it against some outlying branches in their way. He knew it was the first thing people noticed, how could they not? Most people didn't walk around with a hunk of metal for a hand, and he could understand her curiosity.

"I see. So you can leave the forest then." He nodded his head as if considering this. "I'm guessing you don't get too many lost travelers.." He wondered how many times she had to lead a lost man through these woods. Did she socialize with others of her kind, or with humans? He sighed, tracking beside her as they made their way through the worn out path. He had no idea the sprite was leading him back to where he had come from, to him everything around him looked the same. The forest was dense where they were at, but the path was somewhat cleared out and wide enough for them to both travel on.

Nottingham. Yes, the place where he could finally get his revenge and put the past behind him. "There's a man there.. who can help me track down a particular item of great value." Great value indeed. Though, he did not know what he would do after this. He had a small vial of poison, just enough to take down the dark one. Poison from another land, though even now he doesn't fully know if it would work. But to him, it really didn't matter which way it worked out. If it worked, then he would have his revenge.. if not he would finally be reunited with his true love.

She looked over at him sideways for a moment as he laughed bitterly. Did she hit a nerve or something? But then, that would be good for her if he wasn't in league with the queen. Maybe she could get out of this after all. Instead of commenting on it, she looked back over at the flier in her hand. "No, I suppose not." She sighed, staring back at her reflection. She had the strange suspicion that this girl was in fact, like herself, being hunted for unjustified reasons. "The queen must really hate her then to go through all this trouble.." She sighed, wondering about this girl, and where was she at right at this moment. Was the drawing just similar to her own appearance or was this girl actually that spitting image of herself? The thought was almost enough to drive herself mad.

"I suppose you can't just.. let me go?" She asked, looking at the wolf nervously before back at him. She would need to come up with another plan if this one failed, she refused to let this man take her to the queen. Even if she had to track down Snow White herself.. but she knew she could never do that. She couldn't willingly take this girl to the queen just to save her own skin.. even though the idea was tempting. And she couldn't hurt this man.. from what she could guess, he wasn't doing this by choice. She had heard of the Queen stealing hearts of those she wished to control, though those were only rumours. She wasn't sure how realistic that was - and she hadn't spent nearly enough time in town to know the details.

She moved up the path a ways, though not enough to make it look as if she were trying to escape. Her bag was discarded on the forest floor after pulling down her weapon hastily. She began to pick through her belongings, hoping to delay the matter long enough to either talk her way out of it or to think of another plan. The sun was gaining height above her, alterting her she was losing daylight that could be spent trying to get to her destination. She didn't know his story, but she definitely needed to find food and shelter before nightfall. It was late in the season, so the chances of it reaching below freezing were unlikely (though it still got cold during the night) so even if she did need to travel at night it wouldn't be a huge inconvenience.

Listening to him explain it was a recent event, she nodded her head lightly as she glanced to the hook attached to his wrist, watching as he easily used it to push past some brush around them. "I see" she commented lightly "Well, I do agree it better your hand than head. I can't imagine having a hook for a head would be very helpful in...well, anything" she joked lightly. She was curious to understand this man more and the troubles that seemed to be haunting him, as he otherwise seemed like a rather humorous and genuine type of character.

Continuing to walk with him and conversing with him as she tried to learn more about him and how she might be able to help him, she nodded her head lightly when he commented on her being able to leave the forest "After all, it's not like I'm prisoner here" she joked lightly "I just prefer it, along with the fact I'm strongly in such densely wooded areas" she explained, before answering the next comment of his with a light shrug "More people than you might think. These wood are a shortcut to several places, and especially for those who prefer keeping off the main roads, either due to time constraints or whatever other reason, many people wander through here. Most of them due get lost though, so you don't need to feel as though you're the only one" she teased lightly as she continued to lead him towards Ramshelm, the port town he had come from that they were now nearing upon. She figured it was late enough he wouldn't want to try traveling to Nottingham again today as it would be well into the dark hours of the night by the time he arrived, even if he didn't get lost again.

"A man with an item. Sounds rather vague. Either you don't really know definitively what it is you're going to find there, or you're just being a tease and being vague with me" she smirked teasingly at him "In any case. I don't think you'll find what you're in need of in Nottingham, I'm a rather good judge of these sorts of things" she explained as the entered the clearing that opened up to the clear dirt path on the edge of the forest, familiarly leading back in towards the buildings and structures of Ramshelm, along with the strong scent of the salty ocean, now that they were out of the thick foliage that had blocked the salty air.

~

"Honestly, I don't think she's as bad as the Queen makes her out to be. I haven't met her, but I have met the queen, and she's the type of person I despite the most" he frowned a bit in thought "Which leads me to believe this Snow White is someone I would like simply because of that fact" he commented as he smiled a bit when she asked about being let go, and he glanced to the wolf, motioning to it silently with his head which resulted in the wolf relaxing a bit before soon heading off, disappearing back into the woods "Which means that even if you were lying to me and were Snow White, I think I'd still rather you go free anyways" he commented.

"Besides, to let you go I would have had to catch you in the first place" he pointed out, since even though he'd found her, and was initially pointing his arrow at her, he had yet to make any move to actually restrain her or anything, and since he began talking to her, his guard only dropped more the longer they spoke, indicating he had no intentions of turning her in. If anything, he wanted to help her to make up for mistaking her as Snow and pointing his arrow at her. He truly believe her word about who she was, and more importantly who she was not, and he could only imagine how difficult it was for her trying to hide and survive on her own. At the same time though, he certainly wouldn't blame her for not trusting him, and possibly thinking this was all just an act for him to catch her off guard and get her back to the Evil Queen.

Just as he was assuring her he had no intentions of capturing her and turning her into the queen, a movement behind Lana in the foliage caught his eye, and the moment he caught enough sight of it to see what it was, causing him to quickly draw his bow and arrow again, the arrow skillfully whizzing just by Lana and hitting the shoulder of a dark night "Get up" he quickly ushered her, cursing as he saw more dark nights hurrying in the direction "There's a lot of them, the Queen must be nearby. You need to get out of here" he helped her, making sure she had her bag and everything before quickly pulling her along through the trees "I don't think she'll be as understanding of your looks as I have been."

He laughed at her joke, imagining now what it would've been like if it had been his head. He figured he wouldn't have minded much.. he wouldn't be here now and that would be and up side. He would be with his love, instead of out in the middle of nowhere looking for some bloody town. Though this girl's company was taking the edge off a bit. "You know, I haven't asked what your name is." He said, looking over at her. He wondered what kind of names sprites have, if they even had any. But he assumed they did, he had never crossed a conscious creature without one. "Killian, at your service." He did a mock bow, his hook pressing against the front of his jacket. "You know, for saving me from this wretched forest." He used his hook again to brush branches out of his way.

He was glad to hear he wasn't the only lost soul who traveled these woods. "Well, I guess we keep things interesting for you then." Didn't she have better things to do then help a pirate to the next town? Did she not have any family or friends? He wasn't going to complain, he was in fact getting something out of it but it was in his nature to be curious.

He followed her out of the thickly padded forst and out into a clearer path. Wait.. he knew this path. This was the path that he had taken this morning. The salt was more present in the air, and he could see the looming building of the small port side town in the distance. "You're leading me out of the forest.." He stated, his voice accustory. "Damn me for actually listening to you." Damn sprites, they were just as bad as mermaids. Manipulative.. He stalked off, leaving her behind - pushing the branches away as he made it further into the clearing. The sun was hanging too low in the sky for comfort, he knew there was no way he could make it to Nottingham before sunset. "This was your plan all along? Thanks for bloody nothing." He called out behind him, not looking back in her direction.

Lana nodded her head in understanding. She felt the same way, if the Evil Queen wanted someone then maybe that person wasn't all that bad, if not the complete opposite of what she wanted everyone to believe. "Yeah, well if I was Snow White this all might be a little easier on me." She joked, laughing slightly. She would at least know the real reasons behind why the Queen was after her, and would probably know these woods better than herself. "At least I would know what was going on." She sighed somewhat defeatedly, though was glad it didn't seem he would be taking her anywhere. Maybe she could actually get where she had been heading before being stopped. "Well, it was nice meeting you and all.." She started before Graham held up his bow once again in her direction.

"Woah.." She said, taken aback before the arrow flew past her and into the shoulder of a dark night. Oh shit - not good. How did they find her? Unless of course they had been following Graham. She slung her bag over both shoulders and fell deeper into the forest. Her legs pounded against the ground, and she couldn't tell if Graham was following her or not. She didn't take the time the check - right now, it was every man for themselves. Branches whipped past her, stinging as they made little cuts through her fabric. The adrenaline coursing through her was the only thing that kept her from slowing down.

A sharp wind pushed past her, making her stumble to the side as an arrow stuck into the bark of a nearby tree. Dammit, they were catching up. She dodged in another direction, she had no idea where she was at anymore and the path was far behind her. She was trudging through overgrown bushes and dried leaves, and she continued to run even though her feet stumbled beneath her. She wildly searched the forest for an escape, but there was none. Everywhere she looked it was the same. Tall trees, and green foliage.

((Wasn't sure if you wanted them to run into the others at this point. Feel free to add it in your next post!))

(I think they already introduced themselves but we can go ahead and pretend that hasn't happened yet XD. Also sorry it's a tad short )

Smiling a bit when he laughed, she figured he didn't really seem all that bad of a guy. The type of person she loved to help. He seemed like he was just more misguided than anything else, trying to find his answers to his problems in all the wrong ways that only led him further down his path of despair and trouble. As he asked for her name and introduced himself, she smiled a bit "Maeve" she answered her own name, as she continued walking along with him before he thanked her, and she laughed a bit "Careful there, this is my home you're calling wretched" she teased lightly, though clearly not all that offended by the words.

She continued to follow along with him, leading him back towards the port town, the closer they arrived and neared the edge of the forest that bordered on the port town, she knew he was bound to find out soon what she was doing. And a few minutes later, she could see realization registering on his face, and she looked at him innocently "Well yes, I did say I would lead you out of the forest" she reminded him in confirmation that that is what she had agreed to do, and also showing how she'd never specified where she would lead him out to. He quickly grew irritated, reasonably so, with her manipulation of words and mischievous meddling, storming away from her causing her to hurry on after him "H-hey! Hold up~" he called as she quickly appeared in front of him before he got far from the edge of the forest, and if he tried to move around her she just sidestepped in front of him before he could walk around her.

"Hold on now, you're not being very fair!" she complained with a innocent, childish pout "I never agreed to take you to Nottingham. I asked if you would like my help, and helping is exactly what I am doing! Nottingham holds nothing for you or your future. Whatever you seek there will bring you no peace, that much I am sure of. So let me do as I promised, and help you" she urged as she looked up at him. At that moment though, before she could further explain her intentions of what exactly she wanted to help him with - though it may have been implied beneath her words if he noticed - something else caught her attention, directing her gaze in the direction back into the depths of the forest where she could hear pounding, hurried footsteps of both humans and horses - they way they rode, definitely soldier horses and not wild ones. Eyes widening, she suddenly grabbed Killian and yanked him over to the side, where an arrow just whizzed by where he had just been standing, though her eyes glued back to the forest line as she saw a familiar face emerge "Lana? Is that you?"

After urging Lana to run and get out of here, he quickly followed along after her, after shooting another arrow in the direction of another approaching dark knight, hitting him in the stomach. Unfortunately, arrows weren't really good close range weapons. He did have a dagger attached to his hip, however, it would be as good as useless compared to this swarm of dark knights closing in on them. He figured the best he could do right now was follow after Lana and make sure she didn't get cut off or anything, and to back her up as they headed out. He knew this would be a clear sign of his 'betrayal' to the Queen, not that he was exactly ever on her side or anything to begin with, but at this point there was no going back. He reacted before he could think really, and now he was just running with it.

He followed along after her, trying not to lose sight of her. Having grown up in the forests and being used to them, he didn't stumble nearly as much and had a pretty good footing, so he was able to catch up close enough to Lana to be able to call out to her for her to be able to hear him "Keep heading straight! We should reach the edge of the forest soon" he called out to her as he continued to catch up to her even more, glancing behind his shoulder to keep an eye on the following dark knights. They seemed to lose them behind a good amount of distance for now thankfully, though he knew it wouldn't be long until they caught up, especially if they figured out they were heading into town to try and lose them.

Killian ignored her pleas, instead he continued through the rough underbrush until he was finally free from the forest and back on the road form which he had started earlier that morning. "Fine, I don't need your help.. in any areas of my life." He shouted as he heard her trying to catch up with him. Damn, she had set him back almost an entire day's journey - now he'd have to either try and see if he could locate the man tomorrow, if he would even still around. "Just go back where you came from and leave me the hell alone." He barked out rather harshly. He didn't care at the moment, this woman had sent him on a fool's errand and he fell for it. He kicked himself for not listening to his earlier intuition, he should've been wary of her from the beginning but he was so desperate.

He felt a small hand grasp around his arm and while his first thought was to shake it off, he suddenly stopped as an arrow flew passed his vision. Not three seconds later, a familiar face emerged from the forest. "Dammit, of course you know this girl.. the girl whose bloody face is on every flier around town." He said, looking over at Maeve before he looked at the dark haired girl who just stepped through the treeline. "And you brought the entire queen's army with you." He hissed, hearing large stampeeding hooves and men shouting from a distance. While his temper was hotter then hellfire, right now he needed to get out of the way, and fast.

Lana all but fell from the treeline with arrows whizzing passed her every few seconds. The only thing saving her was the thickness of the forest, keeping the horses from straying too far from the path - and thanking whoever was listening for an early spring. Although, when she heard Graham behind her, she knew heading towards a town probably wouldn't be the safest place to hide out, especially with the forest starting to thin out a bit it would be easier for the horses to get through. She could hear them behind her, knowing it was too late to turn around and there was no other way except forward. When she finally made it out, her body almost collided with something solid, before she looked over at the familair face. "Maeve? Maeve!" She grasped ahold of her friend, as if she couldn't believe her eyes.

She almost wanted to laugh at the sight of her friend, but the man standing next to her brought her back to reality almost just as quickly. "Well I'm sorry, it's not like I planned this or anything." Lana hissed back, her hands resting on her knees from the sprint there. "And as much as I would love to stand here and talk about it some more, we're going to be shish kabobs in about five seconds." She turned around to see if Graham was still close behind her, and she sighed out when she saw him there. Although he had just tried to kill her about 10 minutes earlier, he was the one helping her out now. "Wasn't sure if you'd make it out." She said to him.

As much as Killian wanted to argue the point, the girl was right. While he didn't necessarily blame the girl, because in fact he was wanted himself, but with the two of them together that would make for a pretty decent reward for anyone who came across them. No, they couldn't be seen together, it would make things too risky, almost doubling the chances of someone recognizing one of the two of them so they'd need to steer clear of the town itself. They had no time to discuss any sort of plan and all he could do was hope he'd make it back to his ship before the dark knights could catch up. "We need to move.. it would be best if we seperated." He said finally, taking off in the direction of his ship before listening any further to the newcomers. It wasn't too far down the path from where he was now, knowing he might be able to make it there.

Lana didn't think, she just moved as the man started off down the path. She didn't have a way out of this, at least nothing came immediately to her mind and she knew nothing about the town they were now closing in on. Dark clouds started to form in the sky, making Lana shiver slightly in her thin cloak as she hurried her pace to walk alongside the strange man. She knew he suggested separating, but honestly she had no other options and she wasn't about to let one slip away. "Do you have a house.. or anywhere we could hide out until nightfall? Please.. we'll never make it two feet through that town." She said, pointing towards the small grouping of buildings in the distance.

His response only caused the wood sprite to pout further "Oh come now, see, you saying that is exactly why you need my help! I promise you I can help you if you just let me!" she urged him, before she was soon distracted by the approaching commotion coming through the forest, and pulling him out of the range of an incoming arrow. While she didn't completely forget about the pirate nor was about to let him get away from her so easily, currently her focus was given to a familiar face she saw emerging from the forest. Just as she greeted the woman, her friend, Lana collided right into her, grasping onto her, causing the petite sprite to stumble over a bit, grabbing onto her friend's arms "Whoa there, whats the hurry?" she asked curiously, looking back into the forest, though already had an inkling of what the problem was.

Graham knew going into town wasn't the best idea, but staying in the forest the were also prone to getting surrounded if they weren't careful enough. Besides, they were already close enough to the forest line, it wasn't as though they would be able to outrun the knights anywhere else into the forest, there wasn't much of an option. At least in town they might be able to find shelter of some sorts. Though even that wasn't all too guaranteed with how determined and persistence the Queen could be. As they broke through the edge of the forest, Graham was surprised for there to be two people standing right there. More-so, he was surprised by the coincidence that Lana knew one of them apparently, quickly getting his way out of the rest of the edge of the forest line as he caught up to her.

Having been friends with Lana for a while now, though she didn't see her all that often, Maeve was all too aware of her problems with her appearances and the trouble it got her into. In fact, upon their first meeting Maeve had been playfully teasing the girl for the trouble she was in, until Lana was able to convince her that she wasn't the same girl plastered on the papers everywhere. "Hey now, I hardly doubt it's the entire army" Maeve chided, as though that was what was important in the moment "After all, who would she have to watch her castle then?" she further pointed out, before Lana was commenting on the obvious fact she couldn't really stick around and chat, and Killian seeming to take advantage of the situation to get away not only from the approaching Black Knights, but Maeve figured likely from herself as well. "Wha- oh, hey now! You're not getting away from me that easily!" she huffed, glancing back to his retreating figure, and then to the forest line, sighing heavily "Lana, stay with him" she urged, before she moved a few steps closer to the forest, kneeling down on the ground she placed both her palms flat on the earths surface, focusing her attention on the forest line. Moments later the trees and foliage seemed to grow larger and thicker, vines and low branches spread out between any gaps between trees and underbrush, roots equally growing larger and longer around the immediate facing perimeter of the forest edge.

Once satisfied her work would surely slow the soldiers down, both those on foot and horse, she stood back up straight, before turning around and jogging to quickly catch back up with the three - one of which she still didn't know at all, but figured if Lana was okay with him, then he was a friend as well. "Hmm, well this is quite problematic. He doesn't have a house anyways, since he's a pirate. And staying in town is a death wish..." she commented, being rather blunt as she often could be. She often spoke on tongue and riddles, or was incredible blunt, there was no in between in her vocabulary and thoughts.

"A pirate? Then, that means..." Graham finally spoke up, commenting in thought as he glanced down at the pirates hand "You're the one going by Captain Hook, right? So you must have a ship here" he pointed out. He knew pirates weren't often the must generous or chivalrous or anything, but Graham had already made up his mind to help Lana, and he was set to do so. Partly for almost having taken her life himself, he wanted to do what he could to make up for that, and help her escape the queen's search "Look, Lana isn't the same woman the Queen is actually after, as hard as that is to believe, I know. But if you have a ship, you must help her get away from here" he suggested, glancing to Lana, knowing he wasn't really asking her opinion about the thought of boarding a ship for passage, especially a pirates, however, well, it was currently her best option that they were aware of, and he was sure she understood that too.

"I'll pay for her passage on your ship" he offered, though, he didn't have much so he wasn't sure what he would have to give exactly. A few worthless coins, likely. But he knew pirates never did anything for free, especially if it was a situation they could take advantage of to make a profit out of. He also made no intention of asking for his own passage either - he didn't want it. Knowing the queen had his heart still, he didn't want to risk sticking around Lana for too long. He didn't have any intention of boarding the ship with her - that was, if they could even get Hook to allow her on it in the first place.

"Oh! Your ship, that's a brilliant idea!" Maeve chimed in, hardly giving Killian a moment to give his own input onto the whole suggestion. And as though she had the right to make up Killian's mind for him and everything, she spoke up again when Graham commented on paying a price in return "Oh, he doesn't need a price! Right, Killian?" she hummed innocently as she looked to the pirate "You said you wanted my help before. So that's what I'm doing. I'm not letting you go back on it, whether you like it or not. So you may as well just accept my help fully" she shrugged her shoulders as she continued along with them in the direction of the docks as they started to near them, looking around the docks curiously as she ignored any possible complaints or negativity coming from Killian "Sooooo, which ship is yours?" she inquired curiously, as though it was already confirmed this was the plan they were going with. And in her mind, it was.

All the while, Graham just seemed more uncertain about the whole idea, looking at the pirate and...an elf? What was she anyways? Shaking those useless thoughts from his head, he turned his head back to Lana a bit questioningly "She's a friend of yours...?" he repeated from earlier a bit skeptically "Is she....alright? She doesn't seem all to....'there'" he commented as he glanced back to the short girl who clearly had absolutely no regard for the way the pirate seemed to want to have nothing to do with her at all.

Killian continued down the path, even as he heard the sound of soft footsteps trailing him. He knew what she wanted moments before she even spoke, and he already had the answer for her question - which was of course, no. There was no way he could get them all out of town on his ship, they would likely be spotted in a group like this. No, the easiest way for him to slip out unnoticed was to go it alone, like he always planned. "Listen lass, I'm only worried for my own safety.. which is now compromised thanks to you." He said harshly at the dark haired girl several steps behind him. He wasn't about to take everyone on board so they could all be out in the middle of nowhere together.

The sound of snapping branches was enough to turn Killian's attention finally. He looked back at the elf and he noticed a large blockade along the treeline, though even he knew wouldn't last forever. He regretted his decision to stop almost immediately. This girl wasn't the only one, it seemed the guy she brought with her was also interested in getting her out of town. He'd be lying if he said the thought of coin in his pocket wasn't tempting, but with the queen tracking this girl down even he could go a few days without food with little complaint. When Graham mentioned his name, he waved his hook around comically. "I thought that would've been obvious mate." He was then about to protest, in his own way, at the huntsman when the sprite resurfaced..and now with the idea of him getting no commission out of it all. He stared at Maeve until she was done, "If you remember correctly I'm not asking for your help anymore.. and you must be out of your mind if I'm letting anyone on my ship.. especially without payment." He said. At the last part, looking over at Graham so he would know pirates didn't give out free rides, no matter what the sprite said.

Lana realized her line of pleading wasn't successful. The man obviously wasn't interested in what anyone was or wasn't offering - though bribery might be more tempting towards a pirate then nothing.. which was Maeve's approach. Though even with money he wasn't persuaded by any of them. "The Queen is after all of us right now, you don't think she'd be interested in a pirate who was spotted potentially helping me? And besides, what would a couple extra passengers really mean for you? We wouldn't take up much space, and you wouldn't have to feed us or anything. Just take us to the next port, you're already going there anyways!" She said, trying not to yell at this point. She turned to look back at the wall, which it seemed the knights had finally caught up to. She heard the sounds of steel hacking against vines and trees and she tried to stop the desperation from creeping in. She didn't have any money to offer, all she had were a few scraps of clothing and meat from a hunt yesterday. Hardly anything worth offering.

"I'm looking at your face, and all I see are the wanted fliers." Killian said, sighing out as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Even if what he said was true." Motioning towards Graham.".. it won't make a difference to anyone.. not worth the risk. Even if I'm going there anyways." He stated before leaving the others behind him, trying to ignore the fact that they'd probably end up following right behind him.

Lana frowned, and began trailing behind him once again. While Maeve somewhat distracted the pirate looking for his ship, Lana turned to look back at Graham. "Oh, yeah I've known her for years. She's definitely.. something." She laughed, though it came out kind of winded. "We can trust her though, maybe she'll wear him down." She joked, though she wouldn't put it past her friend do be able to pull that off. His ship was nearby, which she was surprised when she found herself staring upwards at the man's rather large ship. She wasn't sure what she had expected, maybe something smaller.. just not this.

"Well, here's where we part ways." Killian said as he stepped off dry land onto the wooden vessel that was the jolly roger. He was more or less exaggerating, part of him knew leaving them behind would mean certain death for the three of them.. though the other part was a ruthless pirate with a reputation to uphold.

Once catching up to them after creating a bit of a wooded barricade on the edge of the forest to slow the soldiers down, she was disappointed that Killian had absolutely no interest in helping her friend, though, that of course wasn't going to deter Maeve at all. "Ah, well I do recall that. But if you recall, I also said that you're getting my help regardless since you had accepted it in the first place. I'm not letting you change your mind. Once you've agreed to something with me, I don't let it go just that easily" she chided as they continued on in a hurried pace towards the docks. Once they found his ship, she glanced back at the forest line, which was on the other side of the town they had quickly passed through to get to the docks. She knew her barricade wouldn't last forever - and it would last even shorter if the Queen herself was amongst the soldiers and used her magic to just burn through the wooden blockade.

Looking at the rather misfit group that they were, Graham wasn't sure how well this situation would work out. The pirate clearly seemed to want nothing to do with them, even for coin. And even if he did end up agreeing by exchange of coin, Graham doubted he had enough to convince him it was worth it. He doubted Lana had much on her either to combine with his coin to convince the pirate. Looking at the short girl though, he frowned a bit at her odd persistence. He wondered...was she even aware of how imposing she was being and how much the pirate didn't want to deal with her? Or did she simply not care?

Turning her attention back to the group as Killian was still refusing them passage, Maeve pouted "See! This lousy attitude of yours is exactly why your life sucks!" she argued "If you want my help - which you do, because I'm giving it to you anyways - you need to start being nicer, and a bit more open minded" she argued. Watching him board his ship and further deny helping them, Maeve just outright ignored him "Alright Lana, you first, up you go!" she chimed cheerily as though it had all been worked out. Ignoring any comments or protests from Killian, Maeve tugged on Lana's hand, pulling her up the ramp to get onto the ship "You next, Mr. Hunter-man" she chimed.

While Graham certainly had been questioning her tactics, he supposed since she had gotten Lana on board he wouldn't complain. Well...whatever worked, he supposed. Though when she turned to him to urge him on board, he frowned a bit, shaking his head "Oh no, I wont be joining this journey" he commented, though his answer seemed to displease the elf-like-whatever girl in front of him. "Well, why not? You haven't much a choice. You really ought to come along. Aside from Lana, if any of us are most in danger it's you. They probably already saw you with her in the forest" she pointed out, getting an awkward pause from him "Well...actually I initially was one of the ones sent after her. I think it best I stay behind" his response still seemed to leave her unsure however.

Maeve wasn't pleased to hear this guy had actually apparently been after her friend at first, though she glanced back to Lana questioningly, contemplating now if it was a good idea for him to come along, before glancing back at him "Well, it seems you're helping her now. So that's all that matters to me now" she added, though Graham was still hesitant, glancing back towards the forest line a bit unsure. Graham honestly wasn't too sure he should come along. While sure, he genuinely did want to help Lana out now, the Queen still had his heart, quite literally, so he wasn't all too sure how trustworthy he was at this point. He wouldn't put it past the queen to use him to get to Lana, whom she thought was Snow White, of course.

Killian stepped back off the ramp and onto the jolly roger as he disappeared from the others view. He wasn't sure how much time that barrier would hold, so he needed to get everything in place so he could push off. Below deck of the ship was silent, not a single person roamed about but this wasn't anything new to him. His crew had left him, leaving him on his own for week now. He couldn't say that he blamed them, in fact he would've be surprised if they had stayed - his main focus had become finding the dark one, leaving the crew stranded in port towns and started spending less and less time actually at sea. They hadn't invaded another ship in months, and money was starting to run out; though this became less of a problem once he didn't have to provide for the crew anymore.

Lana watched as Killian waved them off and disappeared from sight. "Maeve, I don't think-" She started before she was being hauled up the ramp towards the ship. She was careful not to fall over the side, and was slightly relieved when she finally made it onto the deck of the ship. She looked around, noticing the eeriness "Why isn't anyone else on board?" She asked, mostly to herself. She didn't have much time to question it before looking back over the railing at Graham who was now protesting to get on. "Are you crazy? She'll kill you for sure.. I'm sure you've seen what she does to people, to villages who sympathize with snow white." Unfortunately she had seen what the queen was capable of, passing by too many burned down villages.

While Killian didn't spend much time below deck, when he resurfaced his eyes widen at the sight of the two girls now somewhat aboard his ship. Well he had to hand it to them, they had a lot of nerve. "What is this?" He half yelled from across the other side where he was now fully standing on the deck.

"Oh unclench, there's no one else onboard.. besides wouldn't it be easier to man a ship with more people?" Lana challenged, "You could try and get us off, but how long do you think that barrier will hold." She said, pointing towards the treeline in the distance. She knew she was right, he couldn't take them all on when his chance to escape was now. She turned back around, placing her hands on the railing once again to look over at the others. "It obvious you're not on their side anymore so come on, we have to go now." She said, though unaware to the problem Graham was facing. Why was he fighting this?

Killian knew the girl was right. He wouldn't be able to take on all three of them while trying to get the jolly roger ready and the longer he stood their protesting gave the knights more time to break their way through. He cursed under his breath before going back to work. He untied a few knots around the base of the sail before moving some to a new position. It didn't take much effort, since this was something he had been doing since he was at a young age and soon everything was in place. He noticed the others still weren't all onboard, just the one dark haired girl who seemed to be arguing with the others. "Either you're onboard or you're not. We're taking off now." He said finally after approaching the side of the ship where the ramp was.

Ignoring Lana's attempt to tell her it probably wasn't a good idea to board since Killian made it obvious he wanted none of them aboard. After getting Lana on board, she smiled proudly before turning her attention to Graham, who then seemed to become hesitant and not as eager to board with them on the journey. She didn't quite understand why, since to her it seemed the Black Knights already had seen him with Lana and helping her escape when in the forest, so if anything, he was the second most in danger at the moment. Maybe it still had to do with Killian saying he didn't want them coming? But then again, Graham seemed eager to try and convince him to let Lana aboard as well, so perhaps that wasn't quite it.

At the girls' insistence for him to board the ship and to stop arguing since he would be in danger staying behind, Graham shook his head "I can't" he said more firmly, figuring he'd have to tell them. Its not that he minded telling them of his circumstances, even though a pirate wasn't the most trustworthy, and the elf-thing seemed half-mad. "If the Queen wanted to kill me, she would have already done so. She has my heart" he admitted as he looked up at Lana "I'm sorry, but that is why I cannot go with you. While what you said is true, and I no longer wish to work for her, I don't trust what she could make me do if I were to come along" he explained his reasoning for staying behind.

Listening to Grahams reasoning, Maeve partially had to admit that it did make some sense now as to why he didn't want to come. However, being her stubborn self with her mind already made up, she shook her head "Nope, not good enough~" she hummed "All that means is we'll just have to help you get your heart back! Buuuuut....not today. So come on board already!" she then proceeded to grab his arm, and start to pull him up the ramp. Or well, she attempted to, anyways. However do to the large height and weight difference, he didn't budge an inch, and Graham only continued to look at her like she was half crazy. "Oh come on, work with me here! I'm not that big a girl, y'know!" she whined, before glancing over her shoulder "Lana~ Get him to come up!" she whined childishly, pouting at her inability to move the man.

Looking at her like she was crazy, Graham just sighed "Did you not just hear a word I said? By coming along I won't only be putting Lana at risk, but possibly all of you!" he stated, though Maeve still wasn't convinced. "Not necessarily true. By your logic, you said the queen could have killed you by now, but she didn't. If she was going to control you to get to Lana and stop us, don't you think she would have done it now, rather than wait for us to be further away? Besiiiiiiides, should you end up doing anything, we have you outnumbered anyways!" she pointed out.

Graham sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair in slight frustration. Honestly, this creature didn't listen to anything did she? But part of what she said did make sense...if the queen could control him, why not now, to stop Lana from getting aboard the ship? It's be a lot easier to get her now rather than later, he agreed. Seeing that he wasn't going to win this argument however, he gave in, shaking his head as he stepped forward "Fine. But only until next port town, then I'll go my separate way" he agreed as he climbed aboard the ramp and onto the deck of the ship. Turning, he glanced back behind him, though was surprised to see the girl who'd been so intent on getting them on this ship wasn't on it yet, now that she was the last one.

Pleased that she had finally gotten everyone on board, she grinned "Great!" she chimed happily, pleased with her work thus far in helping them, though the smile fell from her face as realization hit her with a few of Killian's words. "Uh...wait....taking off?" she questioned, entirely clueless. While she knew that was an end goal, to sail off and away from the knights and queen, it hadn't really registered in her head just yet, until that exact moment, what exactly that meant. That it meant being far out at sea, not only away from land, but more specifically, away from forestry. "Um....right, well you go on ahead and do that! I mean, someone should stay behind to hold them off more anyways in case they catch up to the docks-" she started, just as a small explosion erupted from the edge of the forest line, where some flames could be seen burning at the edge of the forest, where her wooded barrier had been. Definitely magic, and more than likely from an angry queen who had been held back by the barrier in the first place.

Lana's heart dropped when she heard that Graham no longer had his. Of course the Queen didn't kill him yet.. she would have an in on their little group and Lana knew she would never give that up. It would be like carrying the Queen around with them.. and when Maeve looked to her to reassure Graham, she found she couldn't. She hesitated, staring down at them as they continued to debate what was going to happen. Was she a terrible person for it? She sure felt like it at the moment. Here was this guy who risked everything to save her and now she just stood there unable to do the same for him. It was just too much of a risk for her, but at the same time she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she left him to fight off the Queen alone.

Killian moved about the ship swiftly, each move he made he made with sureness.. never wavering for a moment. This is what he had done his entire life, and for moments like this when he needed to make a quick exit it sure came in handy. He had already spent the majority of being on board readying the jolly roger to depart from the dock. Now all that was left was to weigh anchor and head out. And when he found himself standing in front of the others who were trying to board, (and taking their sweet time at it) he felt like he might go mad from their indecision. "Yes lass, taking off. Get on." He pointed to the spot next to him, hoping she'd just get on and be done with it. Two of the three were already on, and he figured there was little he could do about that now.

Just then a loud crash came from the treeline, Lana looked in the direction of a fire ball blasting through the vine wall. She watched in horror as the small army burst through and onto the road led by none other then the Queen herself. From a distance, it was hard to see the details of the queen but that didn't stop shudder that ran down her spin. "No more arguing get on, move!" She yelled at her friend, waving her hand towards her body.

Killian's eyes landed on the Queen as she began her march towards the jolly roger. One blast and his whole ship could catch flame, and he'd be dammed if he let that happen. He brushed passed Lana and Graham, towards the ramp where Maeve still stood. Putting his arms around her, he hoisted her up off the ground without another word and carried her onto the ship. The only way to get this moving was to make it happen himself and be done with it. He set her down after that, "Looks like you're coming with us." He gave her a small sarcastic pat on the shoulder before side stepping her towards the anchor.

Lana moved towards Maeve, especially with the expression her friend was wearing and gripped her arm a bit. "It's for the best, you know she would've hunted you down.. it's the only way." She also knew her friend more uncomfortable in water than anywhere else.

The Queen stormed the road leading towards the docks. She wouldn't, she would NOT let snow white out of her grasp again. This was it, she finally had the girl trapped.. after so many years she would finally get her revenge. She was so close she could almost taste her victory. It would be a pity to lose the huntsman.. as delicious as he was, he still went against her order, and betrayed their contract for the one person she despised the most. Regina held up her hands, a strong orange glow appeared from them, and she smiled sweetly as she sent off the first blow towards the ship.

After trying to explain why he couldn't go with them, he wasn't surprised by the clear hesitance in Lana's face, and neither did he blame her. It was exactly the reason he didn't want to go, because he knew it wasn't safe for them, especially for Lana who he was now trying to help protect from the queen. As much as he didn't want to hurt her or do anything to put her in harms way, knowing she was just an innocent who simply looked like the actual Snow White, he knew that if the Queen wanted to, he could be manipulated as much as she desired in whatever way she desired regardless of what his will was, so long as she had his heart. In the end though, he ended up being convinced on board with the elf-like girl's instance and reasoning, along with the fact that they were running out of time and at the rate he and the girl were arguing, it wouldn't help any of them at all.

Maeve was actually quite proud of herself that she had accomplished getting the two on board, even the huntsman who seemed quite stubborn about it at first. And the fact she was able to get them on board with Killian without Killian throwing them off was even better. While she would say it was part of her plan, it couldn't really be called a plan since everything she did in helping people was usually spur of the moment and last minute sort of thoughts. Eventually though, one way or anything despite most humans' apprehension and dislike for her kind for how meddlesome and troublesome they could be in their endeavors to help others, the end result typically always ended positively and with the end goal of having helped the individual intended.

She was so focused on her plan to help these three and getting them onboard regardless of Killian's objections, that she had entirely neglected the fact she too would end up on board, and that meant sailing off into the middle of nowhere with no land or trees in sight. She rarely left the forests, and when she did certainly not for long periods of time, as the forests were essentially her lifeline. Aside from the fact that she couldn't swim, being a wood sprite if she was away from it for too long she'd grow weak and ill. Granted, this ship was of course made out of wood so that would help a little bit, although it was dead wood no longer rooted in soil, so it didn't have quite the same importance as woodland did.

Upon the realization and urgency for her to get on board though, she started to try and get herself out of it, before letting out a slight squeak when Killian just grabbed her and hoisted her on board without regard "H-hey! Wait wait wait!" she whined, squirming in his arms though it hardly did her any good as her bare feet hit the solid wood deck, and she instantly grew nervous "Didn't you want me to stop bothering you? That was totally your way out!" she huffed in complaint as he just went about raising the anchor which the huntsman had seemed to join in to help, considering that even for one man raising an anchor would be difficult. Especially under their time constraints.

Once he was on board he decided to at least be helpful since now they really did have to hurry with the Queen having broken through that barrier. He wasn't sure how Killian had gotten around manning the ship by himself. Typically it took at least two people to work a ship this large, and he had to wonder where he crew was or had gone. He didn't question it for the time being through, as he moved to help the man pull up the anchor so that they could get it up fast and sail off hopefully before the queen could stop them. They managed to get the anchor up quickly, though also in time to see the Queen throwing fire towards the ship.

Even though Lana tried to reassure her it was best for her to be on the ship, Maeve wasn't entirely convinced. SHe knew there wasn't much to be done about it now though, and she just pouted to herself childishly at being stuck on a ship, certainly feeling more than out of ehr element. FOr nwo though she just focused on what was important, and while the men got the ship's anchor up and the ship sailing, Maeve kept an eye out for the queen, eyes widening at the incoming orange glow, which appeared to be a sort of fireball heading straight for the ship. Thankfully, they were lucky enough for it to miss, landing into the water directly next to the ship - any closer and it certainly would have hit. While the attack didn't hit the ship, it did cause the boat to rock and sway heavily with the newly created waves, causing Maeve to clutch onto the nearsest part of the ship. It honestly wasn't all that much of a wave for those familiar and used to ships, but for someone who'd never been on a ship before and couldn't swim, it felt like a big enough wave.

"Guess I'll have to find another one!" Hook called out to the small girl, referring to her comment about missing his chance on a way out. He was already clear across the ship, uncaring about if his voice got lost in the sound of the tide. And anyways, he could deal with her a bit longer if it meant his life. But that also brought up the question of how exactly they were going to get away from the Queen? She could most likely follow them even out on the open sea. They would need a miracle to get out of this one. "You don't have any magic stored up your shirt do you?" He said to Graham, who was now helping him raise the anchor.

Lana could see the clear apprehension on her friend's face as the ship pulled away from the dock, and while she wanted to do something more to help her, there wasn't time. Come on, come on.. She chanted quietly, the approaching Queen making a wave of nausea rip through her. She wanted to help the guys who were now set on raising the anchor, but she had never been on a ship before and her little knowledge would only get in the way. She saw the glow of the fire before it was set off, and she let out a small squeak as it was hurled their way. With little time to react, she was soon thrown off balance as the fire ball hit the water creating a wave that knocked into the ship. It wasn't large enough to throw her over exactly, just stumble back as she was unprepared.

With a grunt, they successfully lifted the anchor from it's semi permanent spot by the docks and this ship shifted away. Hook grinned over at Graham for a split second, thinking they might actually get away, when the ship lurched to the side. He cursed under his breath, his body slamming hard into the levee system. His head darted in the direction of the docks, and he didn't wait for the current to slow down as he began taking the stairs that led towards the wheel of the ship.

The Queen looked at the ship narrowly missing her blast. She looked on in sheer disappointment, though the snarl never left her face. She threw a couple more, though was still too far away for them to make any lasting impression. She would have to come up with a new plan if they pushed away before she could get close enough.

Hook's legs burned as he took the stairs two at a time. When he finally made it to the wheel, he flung it to the side as hard as he could causing the ship sway to the side. They were finally aimed out towards the sea, and Hook being Hook he felt excitement at the thought of being on the sea once again. He had been on shore too long after finding information about the dark one, then with his crew leaving he wasn't able to keep the Jolly Roger a float without another pair of hands to help.

Lana careened to the side when the ship finally back it back into a normal position. After the last couple of blasts it more or less knocked her off balance. "Are you okay?" She looked over towards Maeve. She made her way towards the stairs the lead to the overlook platform above. They were farther from the dock now, and she held her breath as she looked over the side. The large party had made it entirely through the wall Maeve put up, and were approaching the docks. She ducked as an arrow flew passed her, sticking straight into a post behind her. "Can't you make this thing go any faster?" Lana hissed at Hook, as she half crawled over towards him the rest of the way before standing up a little more.

"I'll have you know the Jolly Roger isn't a thing lass." Hook commented, not taking his eyes away from the horizon.

He seemed too smug for her liking, especially with an army behind them.
