Realistic or Modern On Track: Characters

Jasminda Maze
1z312pz.jpg

Nickname: Jazzy, Jazz.
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthday: January 10th
Personality:
Jazz is kind of weird. She has never been totally socially adept and often is seen sitting by herself quietly reading, drawing or looking through photographs. When it comes to conversations, Jazz will often be mostly silent, and occasionally blurt out whatever random thing comes to mind. She stutters and stumbles over the simplest of conversations and has trouble with small talk. If you do make the effort to get to know her, however, she might surprise you. She is quite smart and has an opinion on everything.

She is extremely sentimental and values both friendship and memories, and likes to record them in her camera. She really wants to express herself but she doesn’t know how. She gets annoyed when people call her cute or speak to her like she is younger than she is. She doesn’t like feeling powerless and will stand up for herself, unless she or anyone else will be in danger because of it.

Jazz isn’t a weakling or a follower, she just has trouble putting her thoughts and feelings to words, this is something she is quite self conscious about. Jazz is also extremely self-reliant and independent. She will not naturally ask for help unless she is desperate. It is also very rare that she will want to talk about any emotional issues she is going through.

Biography:

Jazz was born to a woman who was usually half there. She tended to pop happy pills a lot and take them with alcohol, usually whisky. She lived off the single parent welfare she was getting from the government. Sometimes Jazz was convinced she’d forgotten she had a daughter. Jazz never asked about her father, she never asked her mother for anything. She had a habit of just trying to get what she wanted by herself. When Jazz was ten her mother overdosed and Jazz ended up in foster care. She liked the foster care better than home and she was adopted into a family by the age of 11.

Her new family was nice, they were also rich. They bought her a lot of things to try and make her happy. Unfortunately they couldn’t really handle how distant she was. She tried to connect with them, but they didn’t like the little habits she gained from all the free rain she got as a kid. She would walk into the house with her shoes still on, she would go and buy dinner for herself, she would go to work when her parents had no idea she even had a ob. She acted like she was living alone. The foster parents told her she was being disrespectful, but Jazzy didn’t really understand. She was just trying to make herself less of a burden on them.

As she lived there things did get better. She liked their dog Bucky. He was a little Shizu, and he was very sweet. Her father bought her a dog when she turned 16. He told her that this dog would be hers and she’d have to look after it. It was a female Bulldog that she named Ghost. She liked the mother too even though she was super strict. But school was another story. Kids were cruel to her in class. She did have a small collection of friends, but outside of them she may as well have been invisible. Sometimes she would just skip all together. Her only solace was the camera her foster mom bought her. She takes it everywhere she goes and has a scrapbook at home full of fun times, not so fun times.

The unfortunately about a few weeks ago her foster mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the lungs due to the fact that she was a every-day smoker. Jazz couldn’t stick around to watch another mother figure die, so when Olivia wanted to run away, she decided to come along. She quit her barista job and took her savings, her dog and left with a small backpack of supplies.

Skills:
Photography, Dog Training, Making coffee, Naturally gifted at survival and can make a nice-tasting meal out of quite bland ingredients, Gifted with judging which flavours go together, creative.

Olivia "Livid Liv" Kross
f27c32a6572c6a23596f78dd728c543e.jpg

Gender: "Take a guess." - Female

Age(16-19): " I'm sixteen, obviously." - Sixteen

Sexuality: "Uh, why do you want to know?" - Bisexual

Personality: "I'm the sweetest, most generous, kind-hearted gal you'll ever meet." - Olivia can be rude, as well as ignorant and heavily sarcastic. She does this as more of a persona, and hopes that most people are able to see the real Olivia (The one that feels) beneath. She's probably the smartest member of the six, and equally the most caring. She'll be there when you need her and will make sure you still see the cruel, emotionally sadistic persona of hers at the same time.

Biography: Olivia was born to Janice and Daniel Kross on the fourteenth of march in 2003. Her family was never too wealthy, with her father always switching beyond jobs and her mother leaving the house constantly. Olivia spent most of her time at the library, living her life within the fictional tales hidden among the pages. Eventually, she started to learn how to code, becoming an avid program designer. Her parents disapprove of her spending so much time at the computers, and so they took away all of her tech, and left her room bare and lonely. Her abusive parents got worse over the years, leaving her traumatized and unable to trust others easily. Because of this, she wants to leave home, and who better to go with than with her friends.

Traits / Skills: Olivia is a great coder, who is able to make whole programs in a few hours. Additionally, she's able to fix up and even build her own tools, such as radios, toasters, and even her own walkie talkie. Along with this, Olivia mapped out the whole journey, and found suitable locations to stay or visit along the way.

Other: She stole money from her parents before they left, approximately $200.

name: Isabella Duff

nicknames: Izzy, prefers Bella

age: 18

sexuality: heterosexual

personality: Isabella is often referred to as melancholy by people who aren't familiar with her. Her perpetually dejected expression is usually enough to keep others from engaging with her and Bella prefers it that way. She gets frustrated when people aren't able to understand her which is more often than not. Words were never something that she was good with and neither were feelings. Because of this, as well as her quiet nature, Bella much rather be in solitude than around people who find her "depressing".

However, if you do give Isabella a chance, she can be quite the sweetheart. She's soft-spoken and almost painfully shy but she does enjoy talking to someone who is like-minded. Anyone who can carry on a conversation about Jane Austin, cooking or, one of her favorite topics, coffee, is her new friend though she does still need her alone time. The only trick to being Bella's friend is knowing when to leave her alone.

Being around people for an extended period of time tends to get her overwhelmed. She becomes emotional and the only thing that calm her down is some peaceful solitude and perhaps a nice cup of coffee.

biography: Isabella was born into a family of socialites. Her father was the CEO of a major lawfirm who frequently hosted company parties at their home and her mother was a housewife who constantly was hosting some kind of social gathering. Bella was always forced to attend, even more so because she was an only child. Her parents were proud to show off their daughter though Bella despised every second of it.

When she was younger and far more sheltered, Bella didn't realize that she had a voice. She was trapped in her parent's mold of what they wanted her to be; an obedient housewife like her mother. Bella thought that she was doomed to that fate. She would try to stay positive, thinking that maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but in high school, she couldn't deny her fear of becoming like her mother any longer.

At the start of her senior year, Bella made a decision that she couldn't come back from. One night once the last of the party goers were long gone and her parents were asleep, Bella packed up her meager belongings and left behind her old life for a new life of unknown adventures.

skills: can cook like nobody's business, fancies herself a coffee connoisseur, somewhat of an expert on antique books, has a green thumb, common sense is always a skill

Harley Noble
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Gay
Birthday: June 22nd

Personality:
Harley is an outcast, despite his longing for actual friendships. While quiet friendly and amiable, he is socially awkward, which often leads to long silences, or him spouting off weird, random about facts about classical music. With such a serious look on his face most the time he appears a little older, especially when he is lost in his own thoughts; a bad habit that surfaces when he is tired, or thinking hard on something. Many times he can be found sitting alone, either listening to music with his eyes closed, or scribbling a composition in a leather bound journal. Any time someone shows an interest in conversation with him Harley jumps at the chance, trying his best to come off likable and friend worthy. His wicked combination of common sense, shyness, and sarcasm often alienated him from many of the people that actually try to talk to him.

Harley's shyness often gets him screwed over when it comes to decisions, never wanting to be the one to make them for fear of choosing the wrong one. He is much more satisfied with going with the flow, figuring if there is a problem down the line he can try to help fix it then. Very emotional, Harley is cursed with crying when he is angry or sad, and sometimes when he is too happy, much to his dismay.

Biography:
Harley was born five weeks premature to a heroin addicted mother who did not want him and an absentee father. Put immediately into foster care, it at first seemed that Harley's life wasn't going to be so bad. The couple that planned on adopting him was a well off, middle class pair with a two year old daughter they had adopted already. But his life already seemed to be laced with sadness and misfortune, for his soon to be parents and sibling were killed in a head on collision on their way to pick him up from the hospital. He was given to the next qualified adult, a nurse who actually worked at the hospital he was born in. She was a kind, hard working woman who was determined to provide a comfortable life for her new son. For the first six years of his life he was comfortable. An energetic, happy little boy he always stood out in his class as that loud kid with a big grin. But once again tragedy struck with his mother being arrested for fraud.
In her desperation his mother stole several peoples identity, an easy task as she was a nurse and had access to private records and information. Whisked away from his home and life he jumped from family to family, never content with where he landed. Many times he ended up in poor households with too many children, where he was beat or chased out.
This caused him to withdraw into himself, seeking solace in one of the only remaining objects from his childhood; a knock-off mP3 player, loaded with hours of classical music; the music he grew up listening too as his nurse mother loved it and played it through the house whenever they were home together. By the time he reached 17 he was ready to leave yet another unstable household. When a somewhat friend from the local school brought up an opportunity to escape the crap of his life he seized it. Not bothering to let any of the random adults wandering the house, drugged out of their minds know, he left; his small amount of belongings packed away between a beat up looking canvas backpack and sports duffel.

Traits and Other Skills:
Harley is musically inclined, with a soft singing voice and the ability to make a rhythm out of almost anything around him. He is also rather adaptable to his enviroment, living a life in foster care was no easy task. Having been in many physical fights with various other children in a house and several adults left Harley nor problem with fighting dirty.
