Fluorescent lights. Voices overlapping one another. Rushed footsteps to get work done. The barking of the short-tempered director. To most, a work environment like a television series (or any set production for that matter) could be considered as overwhelming. A fast paced time paradox where everything was constantly sped up 2x more than what an average person usually lived on. It was a buzzing atmosphere, and it is easy to say that not everyone was cut out for that element of the industry that the media fails to mention.

Call Oriana a bit of a masochist, but she found comfort in the always busy, nonstop work environment that set productions brought. Perhaps it was because she had taken a break from theatre and had spent moments of her time after trying indulge in travels. And after receiving a call from her agent one day while staring at her white ceiling, talking about the offer of a role for a new drama series, it would have been foolish of her to not give it a shot. As it turned out, the show has been a hit, earning a massive following online; even enticing producers to greenlight a second season. Not that it wasn't surprisingly, the generation's demographic absolutely loves drama mystery shows and it didn't help that the fanbase has grown a borderline obsession with the nonsense Oriana and her co-stars would post online while they awaited the new season.

Traitors and Gods, a hit nationwide. Much like any other drama mystery, young detectives solving murderers while a serial killer who has yet to be caught is seemingly among their ragtag group. What made the show different though was the loveable cast, who had won people over by their promotional interviews, which quickly grew the attention of the internet, gaining traction which developed a loyal following.

Teasers and hints through sneaky behind the scenes photos and cryptic Twitter posts were good publicity to get their audience excited, especially when they were hinting on the official start of their filming. Internet feuds were Oriana's specialty and all-time favorite. Her character in the show, Danica DuPont, was the serial killer in question; a manipulative woman who enjoyed toying around with the rest of the characters like a predator playing tricks with its prey. On occasion, which had purely stemmed from sheer boredom, Oriana enjoyed playing up her character online and would tweet passive-aggressive messages to her co-workers to fool around with the fans. It was a win-win situation. The fans got content to fixate on while patiently waiting for more announcements and Oriana and the cast got to giggle amongst themselves.

Co-stars and production workers alike would agree that it was a bunch of lovey-dovey bullshit yet it didn't hurt to admit that Oriana enjoyed giggling about it with a specific co-star of hers the most. Suzette Sharp and her had been dating for quite some time now, with only the series team, close friends, and loved ones knowing. There was a slight rush of adrenaline with keeping the relationship a secret and Oriana had a sick sense of humor, finding it downright hilarious that she and Suzette had the entire world fooled that they hate each other.

It made sense to play fight with her online and during interviews together, their characters in the show had the most conflicting dynamic. The fans loved to speculate on whether or not their characters aggression and clear signs of distaste for the other were undertones for something else. Not like anything like that could ever happen between their characters, it seemed that Oriana and Suzette despise the other. There wasn't a single interview online that doesn't show the two arguing and bickering, or a single social media interaction between the two that doesn't end with an abrupt "I hate you", "Shut up", and "Fuck you". What was intended to be a one time joke, just a stunt to be pulled during their first interview together, soon enough became a more long running joke, which made it all the more funnier.

When fans thought that they were fighting it out, Oriana and her were cuddling. Sometimes they would even review each other's tweets before they send it out, pretending to bicker on the internet while being beside the other, smiling and giggling as if they were back in high school.

Contrary to popular belief portrayed on the media, they two were joint by the hip, even sharing their own trailer together. Oriana's makeup artist, Sam had brushed off the setting powder on her soft skin and gave her the greenlight, signaling her makeup being done for the upcoming scene. She sparred a second glance at most in her reflection, instead looking towards the magnificent woman beside her. "Love, would you want to take a photo after this to show the fans that we're officially filming? I think they'll have a field day."

Suzette Sharp's life was going far better than she thought it was going to be at this point in her career. Sure, most would scoff at the insinuation that she had ever really been hard done by, but there were few that could truly understand. Being stuck in the box of 'bubblegum pop teen idol' had been a suffocating existence. There was nothing that she could do that didn't have to go through the approval of what felt like fifty other people before she could do something, and choice was pretty much off the table - right down to herb hair colour. To this day, people knew Suzette mostly as a golden blonde, but her hair was still just starting to recover from the years of bleaching. That had only been allowed after she'd gotten out of her stupid contract. At first, she'd almost wanted to disappear from the industry altogether, but she had no idea what she'd do. Her mother had forced her out of traditional schooling once her career started to gain traction, and she dropped out altogether at sixteen. She was unsure if she even wanted to go back. It was hard to imagine being normal. Staying felt more... comfortable, to say the least.

She'd never have complete choice over her actions in this business, of course, but acting had gotten her more control than she'd ever had. She'd done a few small parts in things before while still in the teen idol stage of her career, but it was never stuff she could watch without cringing. When the script for Traitors and Gods had been sent her way, she'd jumped on the chance to audition. It felt like the perfect way to reinvent herself, and she'd gotten the part. She was unsure if it was solely because of her talent or because they liked the idea of having a 'teen star gone edgy' on their show, but she liked to believe there was... some merit in the choice. Her character was another one of the leads, a strong-willed young woman named Minnie Gelbman, who took the whole solving murders thing very seriously, to say the least. There was quite the contrast to her behaviour outside of solving crimes, though. She could be rather defensive to an almost childish extent, and some of her spats with other characters had gotten quite popular online.

It wasn't just spats with other characters, though. A spat with one of her co-stars had been something that had started off as one time fun. Suzette had been in for it, as it felt like a way to have some control... and, well, sometimes it was fun to play games with her fans. Meeting Oriana Dalton had been one of the best parts of taking a role on the show, and the two had formed a connection that Suzette had never had with anyone before in her life. She wanted to keep it private for now. It felt special in a way very few other things in her life did. In the meantime, the 'rivalry' between the two in public continued. It was fun to look at the reactions, the fan theories, see how it made more people engage with the show. She saw no reason to stop... and it had only gotten more amusing once the two of them had started to proofread each other's insults before sending them out.

Suzette was just about ready to go as well that day. She was good at following directions and keeping to a schedule, it something ingrained in her from the age of around twelve, but it was a little less... annoying here. There was something about being told how to act as a character rather than having a persona shoved down her throat that she found rather thrilling. She felt like she had a reason to wake up in the morning now rather than being forced to, and well, it was a lot easier with her girlfriend by her side. The idea of throwing some crumbs at the fans as well after this? Well, that was thrilling in its own way.

"That sounds like fun. I'm sure they'll lose their minds," Suzette said, offering a playful smile at the other woman. She wanted to move to lean her head on her shoulder, but knew she couldn't afford to ruin her makeup or Oriana's clothes. The stylist and makeup artist would kill them. She fiddled with her phone in her heads, listening to the hum of life on the set around them. "What should we go for, do you think? A 'they forced us to take this' selfie? Something... intentionally unflattering? A tried and true teaser? The possibilities are endless."

An amused smile graced Oriana's deep red lips at the suggestions of her girlfriend. Like always, Suzette never failed to share her own interest in the games they played with their audience. From the chatter that went around after filming whenever the cast decided to spend a dinner together, no one was all that surprised when the two women announced their relationship. Their other co-stars, Matthew Stevens and Catherine Mendoza had even made bets with each other over the speculation of Oriana and Suzette being an item. Good thing they were actresses and knew how to play the part of enemies, two individuals who just couldn't stand being in the same vicinity as each other.

To the people around set however, could see right through the smitten blonde. Her makeup artist themself loves to point out when she was making heart eyes at Suzette while she was getting her own hair and makeup done for upcoming scenes. And with their hair and makeup done for the scene they had to film in a couple of minutes, Oriana knew that their photo together couldn't involve either of them trying to mess up their current look. Sam would murder the British woman and proceed to announce her relationship with her co-star to the entire world if she even thought about allowing Suzette to mess up all of their hard work just to maintain their sour manner towards each other online.

She pondered at the possibilities. What haven't they done yet? "Let's try something new for a change and try something more... discreet. A true test to the fanbase to see if they follow everyone involved in the series." For the first time in a while, Oriana's eyes left the direction of Suzette, instead settling on her redheaded makeup artist, who was setting aside their brushes then to stylist who was also putting away her things. "It feels only right for our makeup artist and stylist to take a photo of us and post about our bickering in the trailer once again." Subtlety has always been a key factor in maintaining the façade the two have built for themselves. The fanbase has always had the tendency to look too deep into posts no matter how organic Oriana and Suzette have attempted to be through their posts and online interactions.

Luckily there were more skeptics than there were believers who would shoot down theories of the two being more than the enemies they show themselves to be.

Sam pretended to think about the offer to promote the official start of filming before nonchalantly shrugging and digging out their phone from their pocket. "Sure why not. I could use the additional followers." Oriana grins at that, in her life in the industry she will always treasure the people involved in Traitors and Gods. Her crew like Sam didn't pull at her hair or cake her face in makeup like previous people in her past sets. One of the things she favored in the film industry over the theatre industry she supposed. "Alright, you guys know the drill, act like you don't want these pics to be taken and that you two aren't all over each other."

Giving Suzette one last fond look, Oriana goes into character, positioning herself to sit stiffly in her foldable seat, looking sharply in the opposite direction of her girlfriend and feigning disinterest. To the public, Oriana is a sophisticated woman, described to have an "old soul" and presented herself to be pious and polite to everyone who wasn't named Suzette Sharp. It's quite silly knowing that after cracking her initial shell, she is charming in more ways than eloquence. Much like how Suzette was more than what her initial career was. Their path to opening up to one another was quite possibly the reason Oriana fell in love with Suzette in the first place. There is more than what meets the eye and after spending the entirety of season one of the show with her and all the times after filming, Oriana has found genuine bliss.

Ironic how the actress is able to recall her appreciation for the woman she was pretending to despise at that moment. And after waiting for Suzette to decide on her own pose, Sam and their hairstylist began snapping away, a more pleasant experience than paparazzi to say the least.

"Alright I think we're done here." Sam began scrolling through the photos, showing the couple to identify which one they liked best. "I think I'll caption mine with 'here we go again'." Oriana nodded, fitting. After months of writers planning out the second season to the show and Oriana and Suzette living together over that time period in domestic bliss (with the occasional interviews where reporters kept pressing them on a sequel season) it was almost as if they had never left the set. In a way, they never really did, seeing most of the crew and cast members on the regular to have private outings they made sure the public wasn't normally aware about unless they saw fit.

It didn't take even a minute for Sam's post to garner traction after the swift click of a button on their Instagram and Twitter account. Fan-ran accounts quickly started to repost the photos of the displeased looking women on their own accounts. It was always a pleasant surprise seeing how much of a wildfire posts have become, especially in relation to the series.

The comments went on, and on. Oriana couldn't help but find the free hand of the woman beside her and gently grip it with her own. "Another success if I do say so myself." She would have done her signature kiss on the other's outer palm if she didn't know that her dark red lipstick would stain her lover's pale hand. "If this is how they're acting with a post confirming us two for filming, imagine how they'll react to the photos of the cast dinner later this evening." The thought alone made her giddy for what was to come, filming and all after.

Suzette soon decided on her own pose, deciding to go with crossed arms and an eyeroll, the classic sort of 'I'm so over it' pose that she'd displayed behind closed doors for years. It was almost... freeing to put it out there - even more freeing that it was finally phoney. Sure, she felt like she was a little too old for it now, but the immaturity added to the feud, and was easily eaten up by the show's target audience. She jumped at the chance to see what reactions would be present on social media, reaching for her phone soon after Sam's picture was posted, soon locating the app and the photograph, unable to help a laugh as the comments rolled in. People were excited. They were still falling for it. Anticipation was growing. This was easily some of the most fun Suzette had during her career by a long shot. It was rare for her to be in control like this - she never wanted to go back to the old days again.

She squeezed her girlfriend's hand as soon as Oriana took it, shooting a warm smile over at her. Whenever they weren't 'on' Suzette couldn't help how the admiration seeped into her eyes as she looked over at the other. She was beautiful. She was clever. She was dedicated and fantastic at what she did... who wouldn't fall for her? And Oriana was hers. Traitors and Gods had brought Suzette much more good fortune than she'd thought it would.

"And to think I thought this show would be a little detour on my quest for reinvention," Suzette joked, looking back down at the phone and the comments. It was for the best. The longer she looked at Oriana, the more she wanted to kiss her, and she knew that wouldn't go down well right now. She couldn't risk ruining her makeup before filming started, as much as it would be for a good cause. "They'll go absolutely insane when they see those pictures tonight, darling. I'm sure there'll be tons of outlandish theories to scroll through before we go to bed tonight."

She moved away for a little while, allowing Sam to continue doing her job, but Suzette couldn't keep her gaze off Oriana for long. "Speaking of the cast dinner..." she began, clicking her phone off and sliding it back in her bag. "Would you like to go somewhere afterwards? I know a nice little spot by the lake. We can rent a boat and stay on the water for awhile - no one will find us there." Of course, they were spending plenty of time together, but it was far less relaxed now that filming had started again. It would be nice to get away for a few hours when their schedules allowed.
