  Mizu has long, dark black hair. They keep it in a ponytail or pigtails most of the time. They have pale skin that is usually flushed, and blue-grey eyes. Thin eyebrows frame their face. They're naturally fairly thin and lithe, standing at 5'6 / 167.64 cm. They normally wear the female school uniform, hoever they do prefer to wear the male one in winter. Their face is naturally very bored or even angry looking, and their expressions are usually only seen around their friends.

  personality.

  
  Mizuna is generally very polite, trying to keep an appearance of nobility to please their family. They prefer to have lots of company and friends, even if they may not show their emotions frequently. They have a hard time with asking for help, despite constantly needing it. They aren't particularly good at handling their quirk, so they don't use it as often as needed. They are proficient in weapon and hand to hand combat, and they particularly enjoy knives and swords.
  
  Constantly seeking out friendships, Mizuna is surprisingly affectionate when close with someone. They are rather affection starved and enjoy spoiling their friends and loved ones whenever they can. Even if a person dislikes them and their antics, they continue to seek that person out until they realize they are unwelcome. Even then, they may leave small gifts behind for said person while making sure they don't know it was them.
  
  They push aside their own wants and desires most of the time, only asking when absolutely necessary. They will not tell people their birthday, and despite their friends requests, will deny gifts at all turns. They will, however, indulge in sweets. It's the one thing they will accept as a gift from anyone, and is arguably a giant weakness of theirs.

  backstory.

  
  Growing up in Hosu, Mizu was raised by their grandparents. Their mother and father were both villains, with their mother dying to a hero and their father being arrested. Their grandparents didn't support the couple, and so when they were allowed to, they took custody of Mizu and raised them as their own. Both were very influential heroes in their time, however they have retired now. They were strict in Mizu's upbringing, wanting to make them someone they could be proud of.
  
  As Mizuna grew and gained their quirk, their grandparents were quick to put them into training classes. Mizuna had never truly been interested in becoming a hero or training, however they did it to please their grandparents. They continued taking classes all the way into their teens until they were able to apply for hero school. Their first choice was UA, but their grandparents saw more potential in Shiketsu, making them move to be able to go to the school.
  
  Despite being upset at not being able to choose their school, they still did their best and attended Shiketsu for their high school career. They did wish to go to UA, but they continued working hard to fight against the school and prove themselves to everyone. They have managed to pass their Provisional Hero License Exam every year besides their first, and they take pride in that fact.
  
  In their current year, they've grown comfortable in working towards their hero career despite not wanting to become one, and they plan on telling their grandparents after graduation so they can seek out further education. They enjoy fighting UA students, and have made friends with a couple. As of right now, they don't speak to their father and make no effort to attempt to. They do have a mild disdain for loud and brash heroes, but they keep it to themselves to avoid backlash from others.

  Grandmother: Mizu is considerably closer with their grandmother than their grandfather, seeking solace in the older woman. She is generally very kind and a lot less harsh on Mizu, and enjoys the gifts they bring her. She likes to make clothing and costumes for them, and lets them take her old clothing. She usually makes Mizuna and their friends food, and she enjoys teasing them. They call her 'Baa-chan'.
  
  Grandfather: While Mizu loves their grandfather, they are not particularly close. He is a very cold man, especially to Mizu, and is more concerned about appearances than anything else. He will be much more strict than their grandmother, and is known to berate Mizu if something goes wrong. He also is known to dislike specific quirks, especially one's like his son's and daughter-in-law's, and will make it known, especially to Mizu. They call him 'Ojisan'.
  
  Mother: Mizu didn't actually know their mother well at all, but they have been known to brush things off about her. The only thing she left Mizu with was a small pendant that hangs off their wrist on casual days, and is left in their room every other day. Though she was a villain, many believed her values to be in the right place. She refused to harm children, the elderly, and the sick. She was known for stealing from larger heroes who she saw as corrupt and morally bankrupt, and was openly against the Hero Commission. She was killed during a fight with Endeavour, only leaving behind her husband and child. They call her 'Mama'.
  
  Father: While still alive, Mizu is known to dislike their father. Unlike their mother, whom they have at least acknowledged, Mizu denies the man exists outright. Their grandparents believe it's due to the fact he never made an attempt to actually talk with Mizu. Neither of the pair try to talk to each other, and Mizu will gladly tell anyone who asks that their father died. They call him 'Shimizu', as it is his name.
  
  Daichi: A friend of Mizu's, he is pretty excitable and overwhelming to most people. Mizu can be seen hanging off Daichi anytime they are around him, generally being overly affectionate. Many assume that Mizu and Daichi are in a relationship, however Mizu has no romantic interest in Daichi, and vice versa. They have been together through hard times together, and it's known between their friend group that they've helped each other out. They call him 'Dai-kun'.

  abilities.

  
  Mizuna's quirk is called 'Tennyo', based off the female Tennin from Japanse Buddhism. Gaining the name from their mother's quirk, it quite literally means 'heavenly woman'. While they were born with the looks to match it, the powers that came with it only came after they turned 5.
  
  Starting off with the looks, they naturally are more beautiful than natural. They give off an otherworldly look, and lean towards the feminine in the looks department. They keep this look up by purposefully taking care of their skin and hair, however it's believed that they could stop this and continue looking as they do.
  
  The powers that come with having this quirk specifically are flying and a type of enchantment. Their ability to fly comes from the small feathers they have on their hips, believed to be something close to wings in their anatomy. Though they don't usually use flying, as they are quite bad at it, they can swoop and save someone quite easily. Gliding is much easier for them and doesn't require as much physical exertion, whereas flying takes quite a lot of power and a lot of stamina. They generally dislike heights as well, making the flying aspect quite hard for them.
  
  The enchantment is something they can only do in song, much like a siren. Rather than willingly obeying anything they say, they are only able to try and influence someone. A person with higher tolerance to influence will simply be stuck in the standing position, or if they're mentally strong enough, be able to break free from the enchantment. Usually, rather than go for something completely out there, Mizu will use this ability to simply twist their actions into something less harmful while still in-character for the person they're using it on. An example is a villain with a love for arson, persuading them to burn down an empty building instead of a full one while heroes come.
  
  Generally, they aren't very well versed in their quirk, and they usually never mention the enchantment due to the stigma surrounding mind related quirks. They try their best to use said quirk, but avoid using it where they can. While it is useful, they don't particularly enjoy using it and only do so when asked or absolutely necessary.

generally coming off as rather cold and callous, val keeps walls around herself naturally. she doesn't attempt to keep to herself, but she doesn't keep many friends due to her general disconnect from people. getting to know her better shows that she's far from the persona she gives off. she's fiercly loyal once close with someone and greatly affectionate with even friends. she is naturally pretty blunt, and will tell someone how it is based off how she sees it, however this can be a bad thing given she holds no sympathy in telling someone something rude.

BACKGROUND

@valentime has updated their background:
born and raised in maine, val was raised by a single father. she and her father were incredibly close for the majority of her life, and she picked up quite a lot of his personality traits. she copied a lot of his actions, such as stroking his chin when he's thinking or avoiding certain swears, and has kept up with them even into her later years out of habit. as she grew older, they stayed close until the day he died.

her father passed from an animal attack, leaving her with only her estranged on as family. neither Val nor her aunt were particularly fond of one another, so it was decided that val would be moved in to a loft in forks on her own. paying for food and rent until val could get a job secure enough to pay for herself, and after she graduated school, val and her aunt have very little communication outside of simply exchanging greetings every few months.

moving into forks was a big step for val, especially given she was incredibly apprehensive about the little town. she swore up and down to any of her friends that something was going on there, and that little towns like that always left her anxious. add on the animal attacks that reminded her far too much of her father's own passing, and it was a recipe for disaster. however, she grew fond of the town the first few weeks she was there. the rainy weather mixed with the huge amount of forests made for a general love of the town. finally, after a few weeks of getting acclimated, she'll be starting school again.

FAMILY

val and her father were incredibly close in the time he was alive, she considers him one of the only people to understand her and she continues to wear some of his clothing long after his passing. she keeps a picture of him on her desk and, if asked, will gladly go on tangents about the man and what he had accomplished in his life. she hasn't talked to anyone about his death, and while she avoids mentioning the topic, she will answer about it if asked. she practically idolized him and continues to do so even now.

val's mother is someone val will never mention and if asked about it, will simply reply with a shrug. she has met her mother twice, and she can easily say she dislikes the woman. her mother has a new family with another man, and while val did see her at her father's funeral, val truly doesn't believe she cared at all for him and by extension herself. she's very avoidant of her mother, specifically changing her number should she ever find out her new one through her aunt.

her aunt is a very odd case, given she dislikes her but respects her. val's aunt is a business woman through and through, and is incredibly smart at that. emotionally, she's distant and very calculated in her interactions with people. val doesn't trust her as far as she could throw her, but she respects the way she brought herself up from nothing and respects her for taking care of things she generally doesn't have to. she knows this is reciprocated and so they stay distant with each other, simply admiring each other's strengths from afar.

  Nao has a small tattoo on the her ankle, featuring a dove carrying white lilies, white carnations, pink orchids, and a single white rose.
  
  Her fashion is usually more on the modest side, resting towards a casual cottagecore. Most often, in the present, she'll be seen in skater dresses and tights. She has been known to dress outside of that, but it's only on rare occassions and usually for a specific kind of gathering. She does have a love for fashion, but doesn't enjoy showing off much.

  PERSONALITY

  My dear I hear your voice in mine. I've been alone here, I've been afraid, my dear.

  Nao was raised to be scared of everything. She was raised to see everything as an enemy, given her existence. Vampires, wolves, humans, everything has grown to scare her. Her constant fear of doing something wrong has led her to trying to be as small as possible in the world, running every few years away from the town she currently lives in.
  
  Despite this, she keeps herself optimistic, constantly seeing the good in others despite their misdeeds or short comings. The worst example of this would be a former vampire her father took in attempting to befriend her, and despite her concerns on his human eating habits, she obliged. When he nearly killed her, and did manage to kill her father, she knew there was no choice but to run. When he was found and killed by the Volturi, she mourned his death still, despite all he had done.
  
  She is rather skittish and jumpy, always looking around and ensuring everything is ok. She keeps to herself on the best of days, and on the worst, shuts the world out. She feels that she is far more likely to end up hurting someone despite her control being above that of the average vampire. It's a struggle for her to find herself comfortable with humans and with vampires, so she simply avoids both at all costs. She finds herself constantly looking for a place to fit in, and while she has yet to find one, she remains optimistic that she will find one.
• BACKSTORY

  I held your name inside my heart, but it got buried in my fear.

  Nao was born to a vampire and a human couple in France in 1771. In the union, her mother died, leaving behind her vampire father and herself. She was born with vampiric and humanistic traits, and with her father concerned for what this meant with the Volturi, he hid her away. Raising her just outside of modern day Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, he attempted to get her to drink human blood early on, as it was what he drank at the time.
  
  When Nao was old enough to deny the want for human blood, she was taught to hunt for her own food. Soon, she began eating animals, until it became known she was able to survive on human food. It wasn't as filling for her, but she was able to use it to stave off any hunger she had, especially around humans.
  
  With France's economy crashing and the country coming into debt, Nao's father thought it best to pull her away from the country. Not to mention, he was stepping on too many toes for how long he'd been staying.
  
  Moving from France to Canada, Nao spent the rest of her growing period in Trois-Rivières, learning English and studying to be more human. She was able to grasp things far quicker than the average human given her accelarated maturing, but she still worried heavily about what would happen when she was full grown. Her father revealed that he had no plans on letting her interact with others, because they were dangerous. Taking his opinion on the matter in good faith, Nao stayed at home, in doors, for most of her first 100 years of life.
  
  When her father brought home Travis Dubois, saying that the other vampire would be good company, she also took it on good faith. She grew close with Travis, finding comfort in his existence and finally having a friend. She was careful about his eating habits, knowing well he ate humans, but she never judged him.
  
  It was supposedly fine, until one day Travis had told Nao and her father that he wanted to use Nao as a vehicle for a new breed of vampire. Nao quickly denied the request, and her father told Travis to get out. The vampire took extreme offense to this, and attacked both Nao and her father. Managing to kill her father, Travis attempted to kill Nao as well. Thankfully, she was able to escape using her power of command, and she ran. She ran as far as she could in the time it took to get dark outside, and out of fear, she simply sat around in the woods for days.
  
  Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, she returned to her home. Finding her father's ashes, and Travis' ashes and head lain on the floor, she knew the Volturi had gotten involved. Out of fear of them being around, she fled from Canada to America, and began bouncing from state to state, living off what she could with the money she made from art. She mourned her father and Travis' death for years, before finally putting that part of her life behind.

  She was incredibly close to him and loved him. He had good intentions in locking her up, but he did not prepare her for the real world. She keeps his picture in a wallet despite it being horribly faded and barely visible. Only talks positively about him.

  Nao doesn't talk about her relationship with Travis, but it can be gathered they were incredibly close, and her mourning of him continues to prove that. She will not answer many questions about him before clamming up and stopping talking. Afraid of him still.

  Likes

  Enjoys fruits and cheeses, forests, the country side, and the rain. Has an especially soft heart for birds, and will go out of her way to help them. Loves the sun despite not being able to go in it often.

  Dislikes/Fears

  Scared of most people, the Volturi, and people that look like Travis. Dislikes sour food, has a disdain for having to talk out loud, and will not eat ice cream.

  Powers

  Nao's power is called 'command'. It requires verbal command, and she has to conciously activate it. Simply put, it's like mind control. Only one command at a time can be used, but it can be as complicated and detailed as Nao can get out in the moment. She rarely used it before Travis, and has not since.
