Bug Notification bell not showing as read when pressed "mark as read"

Sorry if im bugging anyone (no pun intended cause its the bug prefix), but I have this bug on the bell where I press read, yet all the messages still light up. I dont get the ping, but it still shows as not read. Is that normal, or is it a bug?

Do you mean the notifications themselves don't disappear from the list or that the red notification still keeps showing?
After the update the last 25 notifications still stay on the list, but are shown as "read".

Neither of the above. I think its the update. I havent been on in a while and probably mistaken it for a bug. Sorry
