Elijah Swan

The sun was high in the sky beaming down without a single cloud to give a bit of shade. The hat that was gifted early in the day did block the sun off Elijah’s face a little, making the cermony a little more bearable. Today, Captain Norrington of the HMS Interceptor was being promoted to Commodore. The festives were dragging on. A sword that was made especially for this event was swooshing through the air as the new Commodore tested it out to her liking. The heat was beginning to get to him and he eyed one of the woman that were lucky enough to have a paper fan to wave.

The sword was sheathed and Ms. Norrington made promise to do an excellent job to Govener Swan, his father. The whole ordeal was on the boring side for him, but you’d never know it with the fake smile plastered on his face. It truly seemed he had been interested in it all. The acceptance of the sword commensed the end if the formaluties and now they were free to mingle. Elijah was conversing with a few other gentlemen when the Commodore whisked him away to speak privately. He knew exactly where this was going to lead.

The courage had been mustered up and now Jamie had him all to herself for the time being. They were far enough from the party that there wouldn’t be any intruptions, though many knew her intentions and thought the pair made an excellent match. Women didn’t do this sort of thing, though she was no ordinary woman and she was Captain of a ship in the British Royal Navy and no promoted to Commodore. Many accomplishments she had proven herself for, but this was by far more difficult.

“Elijiah.”

“Hmm?” he hummed in response leaning over the edge to try and catch a breeze. The heat was starting to make him a bit light headed, but he figured the ocean breeze would help make it go away. Perhaps a glass of water when she finished talking.

“I’ve accomplished many things in my life.” Jamie-Lynn paused breifly until she heard another familiar m-hmm. “Only one thing is missing from my life, a respectable man to be my husband. Over the years you have grown into a very honorable man.” She was trying to lead into a proposal slyly.

“I-I can hardly stand.”

“Y-yes, yes, I know this isn’t the convential way to go about this.” Jamie-Lynn turned her back as she gathered her wits and courage again. “Elijah, I think we’d make a fine match.” It was out there and now nothing could be taken back.

It was hard to think straight, let alone give the Commodore an answer. It happened all so quickly, one moment he was going to respond and the next his legs had given out and he felt the rush of falling over the edge before blacking out. The silence followed by a splash made Ms. Norrington turned confused, but it all clicked quickly what happened when she saw the man had disappeared. The water sprayed into the air and you could still see the white caps that were formed from the impact.

“ELIJAH!” she screamed, getting ready to follow, only to be stopped by a navy soldier.

“Ma’am, the rocks! It is a miracle he missed them.” The man pointed quickly before holding her back with another to make sure the Commodore didn’t do the rash thing and jump.

“Get to the docks. NOW! MOVE! MOVE!” she commanded, rushing towards the stairs, men at her heals and the concerned Governor at her side. It seemed impossible to reach him in time

Jade had been close, oh so close to being able to take the ship that she had wanted. The two Navy men that were guarding the docks did a rather fine job of arguing among themselves; at first Jade had attempted to get past them by telling them how wonderful of a job they were doing by guarding the docks from civilians. When that didn't work, she attempted to mention the shindig up at the fort and they acted as if they weren't bothered by having to be the ones to guard the ships. Guard them, as if they were going to go anywhere...okay, well one in particular was if she got her way. Which led right to how she had been so close; one little mention of The Black Pearl got the two Navy men to argue about its existence and it had been then that Jade tiptoed around them to get to the Interceptor. Her hands were on the wheel and her real goal was in sight. Then they had to go and ruin it by coming up with their muskets raised towards her. She gave them a puzzled but innocent look as her hands went up into the air, moments before she stepped around the wheel. "Sorry, it's such a pretty ship." Jade spoke in as innocent of a tone as her look appeared to be, causing the two guards to look each other over for a moment. When their attention went back to her, she gave them a small smile and slowly lowered her hands to her sides.

"What's your name?" One of them asked in a way that made him seem like he was questioning more than just her appearance. Who wouldn't when she had a .50 caliber English Flintlock pistol as her sidearm and a rusty, worn-out old hanger at her side; not that it could be seen that it looked that way through the leather sheath. In a way they were sort of hidden underneath her long, dark coat anyway, or at least as hidden as a sword could be without the sheath sticking out.

"Smith." Jade was quick to reply, although her nose wrinkled a little when she mentioned the first name that came to mind. The Navy men didn't seem to notice the look she made and just continued on.

"Well then, Miss Smith. What business do you have here in Port Royal?" The second Navy man mumbled about not lying, which caused Jade to glance to the side as she thought about it for a long moment.

"No lies? Well, I must confess then. I intend to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer to my heart's content." Jade spoke honestly, stepping closer to the two until she could reach out to hold the nearest rope. It again caused a small argument between the two Navy men as one felt she wasn't telling the truth while the other was thinking she was. Which ended up getting them confused and honestly even her; it was clear with how she furrowed her brows and opened her mouth to say something. It wasn't until one mentioned she wouldn't have told the truth to them at all that she finally spoke again. "Unless she knew that you wouldn't believe the truth even if she were to have told you." She watched carefully as the two seemed to mull over what she just said, not really bothered by what could happen. They wouldn't be able to bring her in even if they tried. After a couple minutes went by with them thinking over it, Jade wasn't entirely sure how the topic changed so drastically, but all she knew was the muskets were lowered and they were more interested in talking now. It may take away the time she needed but hey, she didn't mind spending a little time telling them a story about one of her adventures. They asked. So she settled herself on one of the railings while the two sat down across from her as she began to tell the story of how she ended up on an island with natives that were quite peculiar; they had wanted to kill her at first for trespassing but she managed to talk her way into the tribe. Right as she was getting to the climax of how she had become their chief, a loud splash grabbed all of their attention and caused each of them to look towards the white of the water where someone just plunged in. Intentional or not, the person wasn't coming back up.

"Will you be saving them, then?" Jade asked as she eyed one of the Navy men who was quick to say he couldn't swim; what kind of man couldn't swim when he was in the Navy?! The other was quick to shake his head no as well and that caused a heavy sigh to leave Jade's lips. "Do not lose these." As Jade spoke, she unhooked the belt with her gun and sword attached and shoved it into the arms of one of them while her hat and coat went into the arms of the other. Before either could say anything, she dove into the water and quickly swam in the direction of where the person should be. It didn't take long to spot the man that was almost at the bottom of the ocean floor. Once Jade was close enough, she grabbed the man and as quickly as she could swam back up to the surface of the water. The Navy men were calling to her at the dock and even helped bring the man out of the water once she was close enough.

"He's not breathing." One of the guards spoke uneasily after laying him out, although Jade all but ignored him with a roll of her eyes. Pushing her hair to one side, she stepped passed the guard and knelt down next to the unconscious man. Her fingers wiggled in the air for a moment as she thought only momentarily about what to do before she set her hands, one on top of the other, on the center of his chest. Then she pushed down hard against a few times quickly before shifting to tilt his head back and his chin up. She took a deep breath and held it before leaning down to give him mouth-to-mouth; why the guards couldn't be doing this, she wasn't sure but she did hear one of them mumble about not realizing they should do something like that. Horrible guards they were. Quickly pushing the thought to the back of her mind, Jade repeated the motion once more in an attempt to get the man breathing again; one hand stayed on his chin to keep it up while the other kept his nose pinched so the air wouldn't escape. Not that that could be seen through her hair.

Elijah Swan

The most peculiar thing happened when he hit the water; the wind changed directions and started blowing harder. Clouds started floating in and the bright sunny day began disappearing. When Elijah came to there was an immense pain in his chest, almost like someone had driven a knife through it. His body curled to its side as he started coughing up water. A gold necklace, with a skull in the center surrounded by an intricate design slipped out from underneath his shirt. Elijah rolled onto his back, focusing on catching his breathe. The medallion lay on his chest and rose with every breathe he took in. The dock vibrated with heavy footsteps as the British Navy charged onto the dock, Commodore and the Governor leading the way.

Only a fleeting moment he got to take in his rescuer and she was quite peculiar. Hair in dreads and dressed in not so womanly clothes, to say she stuck out was an understatement. There was no time to speak on his part as his father was alongside him, helping him to his feet. A dry jacket was draped over him as the Commodore and her men surrounded the stranger, muskets drawn.

“Shoot her!” exclaimed the Governor, receiving a confused look from his son. The person that had just saved his life was being ordered to be shot on the spot? Muskets were being aimed and the men were waiting for the command.

“Commodore do you really intend on shooting the woman that saved me?” he asked, alarmed at how fast all of this was happening.

Jamie-Lynn spared a look in the direction of Elijah as she eyed the woman that was just giving him mouth to mouth. A heavy sigh escaped as she swallowed her pride. There was protocol to follow and that pleading puppy dog look from Elijah did help sway her in one direction for now.

“Lower your weapons.” she instructed, holding her hand up signal them to hold fire. “I suppose a thanks is in order than?” she stated, handing out her hand for the other to take. This was far from over though, and she knew it.

The moment the man began to cough up the water that had clogged his lungs, Jade quickly sat up some rather quickly. There was enough water clinging to her dreads, she didn't want to add even more to it. Although, the moment that her eyes landed on the medallion around the man's neck she stopped all together. Her eyes were fixated on it, her hand reaching out as if in a trance of sort. "Now, where did you get that?" Jade asked softly as her thumb traced along the skull etched into it. There was no mistaking it. Before Jade was given the chance to do much of anything really, as the dock had been filled to the brim with more Navy men. None of them looked too pleased with the situation at hand. As the man was helped to his feet, Jade slowly got up as well and eyed the men that were surrounding her; Navy in her front, ocean in the back. Not a bad predicament to be in, it could be worse. In a way it got that way since the finely dressed man was quick to want to shoot her. Jade stared at him with a puzzled look for a moment before turning back to the men with muskets aimed right at her. Not only that but they were being led by a woman! That was something Jade never expected to see in some high society; piracy was one thing since it was freedom but this place was something else. Jade couldn't help but eye the woman until the man that she rescued spoke up.

Shifting from one foot to the other, her hands ended up halfway between being up in the air as if she were surrendering and halfway at her sides. This other woman, this Commodore, seemed to be thinking on the man's words. It was a relief to hear her tell the men to lower their weapons; Jade clasped her hands together and gave a tiny bow of her head with a mouthed 'thank you' to the man. She had still been trying to think of a way out of this one but the way that presented itself seemed easy enough. The woman's voice caused caused Jade to look back to the blonde once more; there was a moment's hesitation in which Jade not only eyed the hand being held out to her but also the Commodore again. Slowly she reached out to take the woman's hand, although her mind was still thinking on how to get away from them all.

Jamie-Lynn Norrington

The stranger was off putting and frankly shaking hands was the last thing she wanted to do with the filthy woman. Clearly there was hesitation on the other’s part, but her hand stayed in the air as she was kept waiting. Finally, the other decided to shake her hand not that was what she really wanted. No she had a hidden agenda. Jamie-Lynn’s snatched the outsider’s hand like a Venus fly trap and pulled it close. The sleeve was pushed up to reveal a P that was branded on her arm.

“Had a brush with the East India Trading Company, did we? Pirate.” Ms. Norrington wasn’t fooled and looked over the woman briefly with disgust, which turned into a triumphant smirk. The pirate hadn’t slipped through her hands. Not many pirates got the privilege to leave Port Royal and this one would be no different.

“Hang her!” Surprised again at how fast they were condemning this woman that had just saved his life, Elijah twisted to look over at his father next to him in confusion.

“Keep your guns on him, men. Gillette, fetch some irons.” She commanded in a strict voice. The sleeve was pushed up further to reveal a tattoo that was a sun setting into the water with a bird flying in front. The commodore only needed to briefly look it over. “Jade Sparrow, is it?” she said, releasing the other’s hand abruptly.

The movement was swift and caught Jade off guard; her brows furrowed together when the Commodore spoke up followed closely by a raised brow from the nicely dressed man ordering her to be hanged. Well this was certainly turning in to a day she hadn't quite expected. When her sleeve was pushed up more, her attention drew back to her arm then the woman in front of her. The Navy men around her -minus the two nitwits- seemed like they knew what they were doing; half -if not most- already had their weapons aimed at her once more. "Captain Jade Sparrow, if you please." Jade corrected as she was finally able to bring her arm back to her. She set her hand on her hip, letting her fingers tap lightly one after the other while she eyed the woman that looked around the bay.

"I don't see your ship...Captain." The sarcasm was fairly evident in the Commodore's tone but it didn't really phase Jade any.

"I'm in the market." Before Jade could really say anything else, one of the two Navy men that she had been conversing with not even minutes before spoke up instead.

"She said she'd come to commandeer one, ma'am." Jade quickly went to send a mixed look towards him, her brows again furrowed slightly.

"I told you she was telling the truth." The other was quick to grumble before stepping forward towards the Commodore with Jade's weapons. "These are hers, ma'am." Jade's hand reached out for a brief moment as if she were trying to get them back but she stopped herself. Now wasn't the best of times to try to get out of this kind of situation; truthfully this wasn't even the worst of the ones she'd been in before. So she pulled her arm back but kept her hands near each other in front of her chest. She started playing with an end of her dread slowly, her eyes going back and forth between her items and the Commodore.

The navy men were more than eager to spill their guts about their encounter with the pirate. The Commodore’s gaze went back and forth between the two soldiers when the woman’s belongings were held up. A snort of disbelief escaped as she looked at the state of the other’s things. The pistol was picked up to be inspected and she shook her head and held back some laughter.

“A pistol, with no additional shot or powder.” she said simply, dropping the weapon back on the pile. The compass was next and she tried to adjust it to point north, but it only kept pointing towards Elijah. “A compass that doesn’t point North.” she forced a big smile and looked at the pirate like she was an idiot. The sword was unsheathed halfway and she little out a surprised hum. “I expected it to be made out of wood.” It was slipped in as she glared at the other. “You are without doubt the worst pirate I have ever heard of.”

“But you have heard of me.”

The comment was enough to piss her off and she grabbed the other by the arm and started leading them toward Gillette, who had the irons. All the men kept their guns pointed at the pirate in case any funny business started happening. Shocked at the abruptness of the decision, Elijah elected to jump in.

“Commodore.” he said firmly, trying to get the, now very agitated, woman’s attention. “Commodore, I really must protest.” Elijah followed behind the tall blonde, determined to be heard.

“It cannot be left undone.” she sternly said, handing the pirate off to have the irons put on her wrists. Elijah was now standing between her in the scum of a pirate, not giving up.

“Pirate or not this woman saved my life.” If no for her quick action and thinking he would most likely be at the bottom of the ocean still. It just didn’t set well with him that they were going to hand her after all of that.

“One good deed does not enough for her to redeem herself after a life time of wickedness.” Jamie-Lynn argued, trying to keep her cool with Elijah. The stakes were high and she didn’t know how to play this hand, so she just did her job and hoped that Elijah would understand. The irons were on and the navy man stepped aside, living only Elijah between the Commodore and the pirate.

Despite the situation at hand, Jade couldn't help the grin on her face after seeing the reaction to her words. Although the grin faded to a surprised look when she was suddenly dragged through the line of men with their guns still pointed at her. Naturally she went along with it since at the moment there wasn't much she could do. Jade's eyes briefly scanned where they had ended up by the gantry before settling on her wrists; the man was a bit rough in putting the manacles on but she didn't show it bothered her. The only time she bothered to look up at all was when the Commodore spouted off words of her good deed not outweighing her 'lifetime of wickedness'. That caused her to look square at the blonde before speaking again. "But it seems to be enough to condemn her." Her eyes stayed locked on to the Commodore's before she looked back to the shackles; the Navy man was done with the manacles after what felt like an eternity.

"Finally." The word came muttered out with a sigh of relief before Jade stepped forward and lifted her arms above Elijah's head so that the chain could go around his throat. She pulled back just enough to show that if she really wanted to, she could kill the man she had just rescued. She stood on her tiptoes while keeping balanced, mostly so that she could stay level with the man's face. A rather serious look was on her face as her gaze settled once more on the other woman. "Commodore Norrington, my effects please. And my hat." Jade emphasized the fact that she expected her hat back as well, even going so far as to point a warning finger at the other woman. Her brows rose slightly in a way, her expression changing to one that dared Norrington to test her; it was clear as day the woman had feelings for this man, even a blind person would have been able to tell. This man with a seemingly good heart that wanted to stand up for Jade. If it had been any other situation then that might have made her feel pretty good but right now all that was on her mind was the way she was going to get out of this. "Commodore!" The Navy man that had been holding Jade's things stepped forward so that her belongings could be given to Norrington. Once it seemed like the blonde was going to comply, Jade tilted her head a bit more so she could speak more personally to her captive.

"Elijah...it is Elijah, isn't it?" She cooed softly, having been paying fairly close attention to what was being said despite her seeming like she hadn't been paying much attention. No one here would want to shoot simply because they wouldn't want to harm him; they would have to listen to her 'demands'.

The man she loved was beginning to get in her way of duties. A pleading look, asking him to give it up was being exchanged when the pirate piped up. Elijah wasn’t going to back down, no matter what looks she sent his way. The day pirate hung in the gallows was going to be a good day, for the Commodore. Jamie-Lynn faced turned hard as she locked eyes with the woman behind Elijah.

“Indeed.” she stated flatly. The Navy officer wrapped up securing their prisoner as the Commodore spoke and as soon as he had turned his back to walk away the pirate had acted. The Governor let a gasp out and Ms. Norrington’s hand flew in the air signaling her men not to fire.

The terror on the other’s faces he noticed first before he felt the cold chain across his neck. Grimacing, Elijah froze and put his hands in the air to show he wouldn’t put up a fight. The pirate started making demands for her belongings to be returned. Now, he was regretting for standing up for the woman. The Commodore was mulling things over and it was clear as she took in her surroundings trying to think of an idea that wouldn’t have her giving in to the demands. Right in his ear, the pirate called out to keep the Commodore’s attention. A reluctant nod to the sailor that had her effects and he made his way over with all of it in hand. His first name was cooed softly in his ear and he gritted his teeth.

“It’s Mr. Swan.” he replied heatedly. The pistol slowly came up to his temple and he gritted his teeth as his captor requested him to help her out and he reluctantly took her belongings from the navy officer. Elijah shuffled in a circle to come face to face with the pirate, no fear in his eyes but anger. He would never hear the end of this. The precious hat of hers was returned first. The belt hung off one shoulder, making him have to step closer to wrap it around her back and then around her waist. “Enjoying this little too much?” he asked in a low angry voice as he finished up on the belt, pulling it slightly tighter than it had to be around her waist.

There was a small smile that began to grow on Jade's face the moment that she held her pistol in her hand once again; not just for the fact that she was getting her things back and things were going in her favor. But there was also the fact that this was bothering the Commodore so much. Jade made sure to keep the gun pointed at the man's head as her eyes stayed on the woman a few moments longer. Her attention was drawn to Elijah though when he spoke and pulled the belt around her waist tightly. "Mm, careful love. Your woman might get the wrong idea." Jade spoke in a teasing manner with a chuckle, not at all bothered by the way he spoke. Instead, she just waited until everything was back on like it was supposed to be. "I saved your life and now you've saved mine. We're square now." Jade added after a moment, glancing down at herself only once. When she was satisfied that everything was good to go, the smile on her face grew just a bit. "Well then. Gentlemen. My lady." Jade cast a playful smirk towards the Commodore with the words she was speaking, carefully inching her way backwards; not once did she remove her grip from around Elijah's neck with the chain. Once her foot touched the cargo gantry, her smile grew a bit more and she almost bowed her head towards them.

"You will always remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jade Sparrow!" The moment that her name slipped from her mouth, Jade lifted her arms and kicked Elijah's back so that he could be thrown towards the men. In their confusion, Jade turned to grab a tight hold of a rope nearby before pulling the belaying pin free; a counterweight dropped, instantly pulling her into the air with a light gasp of surprise coming from her. As much as she hoped it was going to work, there was a part of her that hadn't quite expected it to either. Quickly she grabbed a second rope as she was swung around above the Navy men. The moment that the guns started being fired off at her, a small yelp left her lips and she pulled a little tighter to keep herself close. After almost doing a full circle, a carefully aimed shot hit her rope just as she landed on the gantry's guy lines. Fumbling forward slightly to make sure that she kept her balance, Jade carefully threw the chain over the rope and grabbed the other side so she could slide down it. The shots were ringing and ringing in her ears but she paid them no mind as the ground neared but she didn't drop until the last moment. Only then did she let go of the chain and angled herself so she could land while starting to run. Jade moved swiftly, picking up speed so she could get off the remaining dock faster. At this point she made a bolt for it towards the town, not once looking back behind her as she crossed over the bridge. There were stares being thrown her way for how fast she was running but she again paid them no mind.

Jade didn't stop running until she found a spot to temporarily hide in; it was behind several barrels and she was able to crouch low enough to hide near perfectly. Her hat was adjusted slightly to it stayed on and once that was out of the way, she peeked over the top of the barrels. How long had she been hiding now? It wasn't a surprise she lost track of the time but she still wanted to hurry if she wanted that other shot at getting the ship she wanted. But first things first; she needed to be able to remove these shackles. Eyeing the chains around her wrist, she let out an irritated sigh before looking around. It wasn't long before she spotted a smithy across the way and that was exactly where she headed. Keeping low, she moved quickly and blended with the people that walked along the road. With a fast glance around once more, she went inside and closed the door softly behind her. The place was a bit...messy but she knew she'd find something she could use. Still moving quickly, her fingers traced along the nearest tools before she moved further into the smithy. After searching for several minutes -and testing with a few tools to no avail- she decided to take a different approach to removing the shackles. If anything, they didn't necessarily have to be removed but she still needed to be free. Setting her hat down on one of the tables covered in tools, Jade headed over to where she had seen the smoldering fire off near the back. Inside the hearth was a metal rod that seemed to glow with the fire at one end; she picked that up and went back to where she had seen a donkey chained to one of the machines. Giving the creature a somewhat apologetic look, she stuck the donkey in the rear and quickly moved to clasp the chain around a piece of the wheel. It only took a few steps before the chain was smashed by the second wheel grinding to power the machine and that caused a large smile to grow on her face. Even if she still had the shackles on her wrist, at least she wasn't bound by the chain any longer. It gave her free reign of her movements once again and that was all she could really ask for. For now at least. Although only a second went by before she thought she heard something. Quickly crouching low, Jade jumped off to one side so she could find a new temporary hiding spot from whomever might have come.

The buckle was the last thing the needed to be done and Elijah was finishing that up as the pirate came back with a retort. An eyebrow cocked up slightly in surprise at the bold assumption, but he remained mute. The bloody pirate didn’t need to know his personal business, like he had no intentions in taking the Commodore’s hand in marriage. All her belongings back on and to her liking he was turned around and felt the chain tighten around his throat once more. The chain tightened as she started stepping backwards and he followed suit with his hands in the air. The woman knew how to make an exit not that he got to see much. As fast as the chain around his neck was removed a swift kick in the back came, causing him to stumble forward, almost face planting on the hard dock floor. His father was the one to catch him. The Commodore and he looked over Elijah with concern. Once the two had ruled out any injuries, they jumped into action.

“Will you shoot her now?” the Governor growled, pulling his son away from the scene.

“Fire at will, men.” she commanded, pointing the pirate that was flying through the air. All the muskets went in the air and they started firing at will. The Commodore eyed their target, one musket ball cutting through rope, but the scoundrel had already landed. Though, for a brief moment, it looked as if she was going to fall and plummet to the ground. As soon as she was zipping down the rope Jaimie-Lynn had already started heading to shore. “Find her!” she growled, unhappy none of her men could find their target. Everyone marched to track down the pirate. Pausing briefly she looked behind her to see the Governor and his son heading back to their house. Today she looked a fool and she wondered if she’d even have the blessing for their wedding from Elijah’s father. “Come on, get a move on.” she barked, making her way into town hastily.

Navy men filled the streets suddenly, causing quite a scene. There was whispers being exchanged as they charged through, asking the few passing by questions. Errands finished up, Willow approached a woman that that had just been question.

“What is all this about?”

“Ah, looking for the pirate that threatened Governor Swan’s boy.”

Eyes wide, she stared at the woman that had nonchalantly mentioned Elijah being in danger. Only a couple hours earlier had she seen him when she handed off the sword for the Commodore’s coronation. There was a bit of disagreement between the two as he liked to have them address each other as if they were not from different classes. The Governor had called her sensible, but Elijah acted as she betrayed him by using his formal name instead of his first. Nodding in thanks, she walked away still mulling over the event in her mind. A few more items were delivered to customers that morning, but finally all the errands were done and she could go back to the smithies and continue on her work. The left side of the double door creaked open. What a site that was happening inside. The donkey was practically galloping in a circle, making all sorts of whinnies and ruckus. A quick glance around, Willow couldn’t tell what startled the animal.

“Hey, hey there. Shhhh.” she comforted, getting the donkey to come to a complete stop. Tucked away in the corner, out cold, was the Smith that runs the place and her mentor, mentor being uses very loosely. He rarely worked and drank to his heart’s content, leaving Willow filling all the order. That may have bothered others, but she was just happy to be the one truly behind all the perfect works of art. Didn’t matter she received none of the credit and it was all behind closed doors. “Perfect, you’re right where I left you.” she chimed gleefully, figuring that she would at least get a couple more hours of work without his interference.

The tools on her table were rearranged and she looked back to the slumbering slob in the counter as her fingers dance on all her tools, none in the place she left them. That is when she noticed something that did not belong there at all, a triangular hat. Willow kept acting like she was looking at her tools as her eyes darted around searching for any other things that may be out of place. It seemed as if she was alone.

“Where did you come from?” she asked herself, reaching out for the leather hat. No one around these parts wore anything like that. They were all cloth and extravagant hats that had a feather, none this simple. A thought that the pirate might be near crept into the back of her mind and she was on edge. If that were the case, she’d make sure they were sorry for ever threatening Elijah.

Jade kept as still as she could, her breath inaudible as she focused on keeping as silent as she could. At first she thought she might have been imaging something but she heard footsteps and some comforting words not even moments later. It was another woman's voice, which caused her brow to raise a bit curiously. What was a woman doing in a smithy? Mentally shrugging the thought aside, Jade turned so she could walk a little bit further in to a better hiding spot. It was then that she realized something rather crucial; her hat wasn't on her head. Biting her lower lip lightly, Jade peeked around the machine she was hiding behind and noticed her hat sitting exactly where she had taken it off. Why did she have to do that? Almost cursing herself, she knew that she needed to get to it as quickly as possible so she could hurry along and leave without running into this other woman. Jade inched closer, finding her eyes locking on the other woman that was now in sight. This woman was looking over the tools right near Jade's hat and that caused an inaudible sigh to leave the pirate's lips. This wasn't going to bode well. Silently, she unsheathed her sword and crept forward with the intent to still get her hat back and then leave without trouble. Only she moved a little faster when she noticed the other woman reaching for her hat. Straightening up as she was close enough, she reached out with so that the flat of the sword blade could smack the woman's hand.

Jade stepped forward with the tip of her sword now aimed directly at the other woman. Without giving much away, Jade eyed the other woman closely with her brows furrowed just a bit. There was something familiar about this woman, something the pirate couldn't exactly place. She figured she would have known the face if she had seen it before as she was rather cute in a way. But at the same time, she couldn't place where she might have seen her before. "You seem...familiar, love." Jade spoke slowly, trying more to gauge what the other woman would do more than anything. "Have I threatened you before?" The sword stayed level as she questioned the woman and inch by inch she stepped forward as well; the door was still in her sights behind the woman and it was the ultimate goal of Jade's to reach it. Her posture was relaxed, almost looking as if she wasn't even all that threatening in the first place. Things were going fairly smooth so far so she just hoped it'd stay that way now.

A stinging sensation happened immediately as her hand had been smacked with the flat surface of the other’s sword. Withdrawing her hand from the hat, she stepped back eyeing the intruder. Indeed, it was the pirate everyone was a buzz about in the streets. The one the navy men were looking for. Willow figured that she needed a place to hide while the heat died down. Eyes traveling down, taking in every detail of the trespasser she could, the chains dangling from the other’s wrists caught her eye. Apparently, she also needed to get out of those cuffs. The term of endearment was a surprise, if it was even that. Felt like she was being talked down to in polite sweet way. Taking in the other’s features one more time, she decided the two had never crossed paths before.  Someone this eccentric would be hard to forget.

“I try to avoid making familiarities with pirates.” Keeping a safe distance apart, a few inches from the tip of the sword that was still pointed in a threating manner, she inched back as the other stepped forward. A soft scoff came out as she rolled her eyes at the thought of her reputation being tarnished. Not much there to damage in the first place. The intruder seemed to have other plans as she was about to make her way towards the door. The sword was in her hand before she could put together what she was doing, not that she faltered in the very least, after all this was the person that put her friend’s life in danger earlier this morning.

“Not so fast. I can’t let you go.” she said in a low warning voice. Her own sword pointed at the woman with the brown dreads. “You threatened Elijah.” she clarified. Commodore Norrington wasn’t on her favorites list, so this was not because she was doing her a favor, nor was she trying to be a Good Samaritan. The fact was she couldn’t let someone go that had threatened one of the closest people to her heart.

"Well, it wouldn't be wise to stain your record now on my account. So if you'll excuse me." Jade was quick to give a tiny, almost sarcastic bow to the other woman before she turned to grab her hat. She was rather hopeful that the other would just leave it be at that and she could leave without a hassle. With it now in hand, there was the tiniest smile on her face as she set her hat back in its rightful place. As she was ready to head towards the door, she heard the familiar sound of metal scrapping and it caused a small sigh to leave her lips. So much for having an easy time. Turning back to the woman with a raised brow, she set one hand on her hip while the other made a motion with her sword towards the woman's sword. A soft hum left her lips as she eyed the woman in a new light, stepping closer to her once again.

"Do you think this wise, little girl? Crossing blades with me?" She asked, although a part of her could understand why this woman would want to stand between the pirate and her freedom. The way that she spoke Elijah's name was enough of a clue to Jade that the woman before her had some kind of a liking for the man. It wasn't Jade's fault that things went down that way. She was just trying to get to that ship. "Hmm." Jade brought her sword back up and brushed it against the woman's up and down in a manner that was more testing than anything. From the stance the woman had, Jade could tell she had at least some practice with the sword. There wasn't a way around her though without forcing her way through. "It was only a little." Jade spoke in a soft, almost darker tone as she gave an innocent grin that betrayed her words. She waited only a moment before she stepped forward with a couple of thrusts, trying to feign the woman and gauge just how much she knew of the sword itself. After the first couple of strikes, she increased the speed of her attacks; feigns and thrusts mixed with the parries and truth be told she was rather impressed. Irritated sure but also impressed. With one last block, Jade ended up nodding her head slightly as the tip of her sword lowered.

"You know what you're doing, I'll give you that." Jade spoke with a curious tone as she stepped forward, eyeing Willow once more. "Excellent form." Jade stepped closer again, tapping her sword against the other woman's as her head tilted to the side curiously. "But tell me. How's your footwork? If I step here..." Slowly Jade crossed one foot over the other and did a half circle as she swung her sword again. The woman before her seemed to have no problems keeping up with her and even her footwork matched Jade's. Just a little bit more though. "Impressive. And if I step again-" Jade stepped more fluidly this time, circling around as she crossed blades with the other woman. Their swords clashed for a brief minute until Jade stopped once again with a small nod of her head. The door was now directly behind her and that was exactly what she wanted. With one final lunge attack forward to make Willow back up some, she gave the other woman a grin before sheathing her sword. "Ta." She'd just have to come back for her hat later but for now, she turned and headed straight for the door.

Annoyed, Willow bit the inside of her cheek as her eyes narrowed because of the insult. Little girl had stuck out like a sore and it was bouncing around in her head, making her more determined not to let the pirate escape. Standing her ground, her sword remained high in the air pointed at her opponent. The other’s sword grinded against hers, an intimidation tactic she figured.  Every time that woman opened her mouth it pissed Willow off a little more. The poor excuse caused her to roll her eyes at the other.

“A threat is a threat.” There was nothing small about it when you take someone else’s life in your own hands. The pirate didn’t waste time and began advancing with an attack. Willow deflected the first few and then found an opening to strike, it being blocked quickly.  Comfortable in her skill with a blade; it didn’t come as a surprise the pirate was slightly impressed she could wield a sword. “Excellent.” she answered, mimicking the other’s footwork as they began a little dance. Her foot crossed over the other and she raised her sword to block the other’s blade perfectly.  The other stepped again, more fluidly with some pivots that didn’t throw her off. The other lunged a final time, making Willow retreat and take a few steps back. The pirate had a scheme to run instead of fight. What a coward. A sigh of frustration left her lips as she lifted her swords over her shoulder and threw it right by the pirates head. The blade dug into the lever, making it so the pirate couldn’t leave.

A proud smirk spread across her face as the other wasn’t getting through those doors anytime soon. The other turned around and for a moment Willow was lost in what to do next. A blank stare was on her face for a split second when she remembered the sword in the coals behind her. Quickly, she armed herself with the scolding hot sword and pointed directly at the pirates face. The donkey let out a high pitch neigh and began running in a circle. Once again she was between the pirate and the door and this time she would not be so easily tricked out of the way.

Captain Jade Sparrow

Jade stopped dead in her tracks and glanced to the side wide-eyed for a moment. First she stared at the sword that was now plunged oh so ironically in the door, now all but blocking her path. Then she glanced over her shoulder to see the woman looking all smug like she had outsmarted the pirate. Turning her attention back to the sword, she reached out for the handle and tried to pull it. It was stuck rather deep in and it seemed no matter how hard she pulled or wiggled, the sword just would not budge. With an internal groan, she turned on her heel to face the other woman again and eyed her up and down. "What a cute little trick, darling." Jade spoke in an almost mocking tone to cover up that she was indeed a little impressed by that. This little girl was getting in her way to leave and if Jade had to actually get serious in order to do so then she'd do it. So she drew her sword once again as she neared Willow and paused to eye the weapon that had been drawn this time. For a moment, it looked as though her shoulders slumped slightly at the sight before she lunged forward with a harder attack. When it was parried, Jade tried to move around the pillar the donkey was circling only to be pushed back again. This was becoming much more of a hassle than Jade had expected. All she wanted was a bloody ship!

Circling back to the middle of the room, she lunged forward again but this time with an entirely different attack in mind. The chain on the manacle swung high after her sword was blocked but Willow seemed to dodge it easy enough. A good thing that wasn't what Jade was hoping for. When the other woman came at her again, Jade swung the chain in a manner that managed to catch the sword so that she could pull it out of Willow's grasp. A smirk grew on the pirate's lips as she thought it was finally over but that thought was quickly squashed. As Jade was about ready to swing a warning strike towards her, the other woman was already making her way to grab another sword. It was then that it really clicked in Jade's mind; they were inside of a smithy, a place where all sorts of weapons were being made. Swords, daggers, and the like. Of course it'd just be Jade's luck to come across someone that could actually use them. She swung again and started clashing blades with the other woman, only taking her eyes off of her once to glance around. "Just who exactly makes all of these?" There was a bit of surprise mixed with annoyance in her tone but she didn't stop her lunges or parries as she spoke. Hearing that Willow did and just how often she practiced a day caused a chuckle to leave Jade's lips. She did a hard hit just so she could clash swords close to the other woman before looking her over again.

"You need to get yourself a man, love. Get yourself a better life." Jade swung again before another thought hit her when she remembered just how the other woman spoke Elijah's name. "Unless...the reason you practice three hours a day is because there's a man that has your fancy but you can't have him?" Jade rose her brow curiously at that and when Willow seemed to scrunch up a little in anger, Jade knew she hit the nail on the coffin. Despite the rebut about how Willow claimed to practice to kill a pirate, Jade knew the truth and it just caused her to chuckle even as another sword was grabbed by the other woman. Jade used the chain and sword to block and parry the two swords, attacking whenever she could. At some point between the clash, Willow managed to stick her sword through one of the loops on the chain and caught it on the ceiling. Jade looked up but quickly kept her focus on the other woman as she had to start parrying again one handed while thinking of how to get out of this one. Another glance up showed a bag sitting on top of where she was chained. Whatever was in it didn't matter much to Jade, she was going to use it. Parrying hard enough to knock the sword back, Jade lifted herself up to grab the bag and opened it up before throwing it towards Willow. As the dust and whatever was in it kept Willow distracted, Jade hoisted herself up once more and used all the force her body could muster to pull herself free. The moment she dropped to the ground, she rolled over and pulled out her pistol just as Willow picked up some kind of mallet.

"Pirate." Jade said when a look was given as if she was cheating; how else was she going to get out of this one? She couldn't best the woman in a duel due to the circumstances so she didn't have any other choice. Banging on the door that was locked tight because of the sword caught her ear and a soft groan escaped her lips. "Move." Jade demanded, aiming her gun right at Willow's head; the other woman was blocking the only other path that she had to escape. The refusal caused an irritated look to cross her features followed by a somewhat pleading look. "Please move?" She tried asking more nicely this time and when Willow still refused, Jade let a heavy sigh leave her lips before she cocked the pistol. "This shot isn't meant for you, please. Just move." Jade spoke more softly this time, her eyes pleading in a way that begged the other woman to listen.

The scolding hot tip that illuminated red seemed to, for a brief second, cause the other to be intimidated. Not nearly the case as the pirate lunged with the first strike, harder than before and catching the brunette off guard. Deflecting the strike, she countered with one of her own and missed as the other tried to go around the pillar and exit through the back door. The swords clashed as Willow blocked the way once more and pushed her back from escaping. Circling in the center of the room, Willow parried another strike. The chain from the manacle was coming straight towards her face and she ducked out of the way and went to strike again. The chain was swung once more, wrapping around her sword and pulled from her grasp. An aggravated sigh escaped as she went for the closest sword, only a few feet away since throughout the smithy they were stored everywhere. Swords locking, Willow glanced around at all her work the pirate had taken a notice too.

“I do.” she stated, proudly. Willow lunged forward this time, only for her attack to be deflected. “And I practice with them three hours a day.” she continued, not missing a beat as the fight ensued. Swords locked close together as her opponent looked her up and down. Confused, she did the same. Insulted she rolled her eyes as the other suggested she should settle with a man to better her life. “My life needs the bettering?” she countered, giving a hard shove to unlock swords. Anger began to bubble in her stomach as she swung hard at the other. “I practice three hours a day for when I meet a pirate I can kill it.” she emphasized it as grab a second sword. A sore spot had been found and her emotions were getting to her and each strike grew fiercer.

Clever idea came to mind, and she weaved one of the swords through the chain dangling from the manacle and stuck it in a wooden beam in the ceiling, trapping the pirate in one spot. The swords kept clashing, Willow attacked with all her strength in hope to disarm the pirate. A bag in storage was split open from above and dust rained all over, rendering her sightless. The sword was dropped as she wiped it from her eyes and hair. Once she could see again, she took the mallet she used to form the swords and held it high in the air ready to attack when she saw the pistol. Anger was written all over her face as she eyed the new weapon.

“Your cheating.” she spat, the pirate clearly not being very sportsman like anymore. In annoyance Willow shook her head, her brown curls bouncing as she did so. Pirate was lame excuse for what she had done. The two front doors lurch forward with the first attempt from the Navy men to break the barrier. Willow side stepped in front of the back door as the pirate aimed the pistol at her head. “No.” she said sternly, not budging. The pirate took a different approach and pleaded with her, even though she struggled internally on wither or not to change her answer, it came out as the same. “I just can’t let you go.” That was just the honest truth. Even if she wanted to let her go, the Pirate threatened the life of the Governor’s son; anyone aiding her would find themselves in a cell. What words she said next confused Willow as she eyed the now cocked gun. Exactly who was it meant for?

Movement behind the pirate caught her eye and just as it did, the Smith hit the Pirate upside the head with an empty liquor bottle. Commodore Norrington came in the room just in time to see the heroic act. Willow was being ignored as if she had sat by and done nothing. Rolling her eyes she placed the mallet back and stood there, invisible.

“Great work, sir. You just aided us in capturing a very dangerous criminal.” The Commodore was standing proudly next to the stout, dirty drunk man as if he was the greatest citizen.

“Just do my civic duties.” The man practically burped the last word and the proud look on Jamie-Lynn suddenly turned to disgust.

“Right well, thanks again.” As she spoke she side stepped away from the man and motioned for her mean to make off with the pirate. Giving a slight bow of the head in thanks, she took up the rear and followed her mean out. The curls in her perfect ponytail bounced perfectly with each step, making Willow loathe her that much more. The only reward for her good deed was a giant mess to pick up.

***

Later that night, the Governor and the Commodore met up to discuss the events of the day and share a glass of whisky. The night was cool, but it was welcomed after the hot day they just had, so they were taking a stroll on the wall that over looked the ocean bay. There was an immense amount of cloud coverage, though it didn’t seem like it would rain. Pausing there stroll, both of them looked out to the ocean, enjoying the view as the carried on their conversation.

“How is Elijah holding up after today’s events?” she asked, nervously tracing her finger on the rim of the glass. It really wasn’t the question on her mind, but it was the polite thing to ask. If her marriage proposal was accepted was what she really wanted to know and it must have been written on her face because the Governor addressed it.

“Pretty well. I’m sure after a night’s rest and some time to sort through his thoughts you’ll receive that answer you seek. The two of you would be a fine match.” It was put so simply and she wished that she had much confidence that the wedding would happen as Elijah’s father. “I’ll do a bit of investigating in the morning.” The governor added, without a doubt to ease her mind. Jamie-Lynn studied her drink briefly before taking another big swig to take the edge off. An outline of a ship caught her eye and all that the Governor was drabbling on about fell on deaf ears. The ship was unfamiliar and not one of their own. It all clicked simultaneously, the cannons drawn, the dark flag she could barely make out with the skull and bones crossed behind it. They were under attack. The glass of whiskey broke beneath her feet as she heard the sound of the cannon. Tackle the Governor down to the ground and out of the way of fire barely in the nick of time. The wall was continuously fire upon and rubble exploded in the air all around them.

“Go to by quarters and lock the door.” She barked at the terrified Governor, who was wide eyed and trembling. “Now that is an order!” There was not time for him not to listen. Once he was safe she would need to assemble men to go into town and protect the civilians and get some out to counter attack with some of their own cannon fire. No one could be spared and she would even pull most of the men guarding the fugitives away. The two went their own ways, the commodore sparing a glance behind her making sure that the Governor did as he was told and not something stupid instead. As soon as it was clear he was heading for her quarters she began barking orders at her men and making her way to the streets with a large group of men behind her to protect the citizens.

Captain Harley Barbossa

259eiki.jpg
How long had it been? How far had they traveled in search of that bloody coin that they needed to set them free? Harley was starting to lose track of time as weeks or even months at a time could just seem like the blink of an eye. Such was the life of the cursed. In the beginning, when no one had really noticed the change, it had been so very worth everything that they had gone through. The mutiny. The Isla de Muerta. The rum, living life the way they wanted without a care in the world. But everything changed once they realized the curse. If it hadn't been for that damnable fool of a pirate Turner than they could have been long since fixed of this plague before it could have gotten this far. But now, now things were different. So very different that they couldn't even call themselves human any longer; they were cursed, undead creatures until they found all of those coins that they had stolen so long ago. Harley had felt the call the moment that the coin had hit the water and set the Black Pearl in its direction not even moments after she felt it. That same feeling of excitement ran through her cold blood as her very first plunder, her first kill, her first anything as a pirate really. Soon. Their chance to rid this curse was upon them and there wouldn't be anything that stood in her way of getting her freedom back. As she stood at the helm of the ship, her hands rested against her side while one rested against the hilt of her broadsword. Two pistols were hidden among her clothes, one of which was her favorite being a Spanish miqulet flintlock pistol. That was the one she favored most whenever she used her guns in battle.

It had taken about a third of a day to get to the port where it was, a place called Port Royal. Of all the places the medallion could have ended up she wasn't sure how it landed here but it didn't matter. It would be hers. Her patience was already wearing thin and all she had to do was give one of her crew a look that told them right away they could begin. The ship turned slightly, the black sails raging against the winds and even through the fog that was brought about it could be seen. The first cannon fire was a warning shot but then one by one, they were fired again and again. It didn't matter where they were being aimed or if it was even hitting someone or something. The whole point was to cause a diversion while part of the crew went to shore. Speaking of. Harley walked away from the wheel and headed towards the pinnance that was being lowered down and readied with a few of her men that seemed all too eager to go to shore. For a moment, Harley watched them as she thought about the task at hand and the last time that they were actually able to get to shore. They might not be able to actually find the medallion if all they were going to do was raid and plunder as they normally would. The buffoons got distracted easily at times. "Keep firing til I get back." It was all she bothered to announce as she knew the ones manning the cannons would do as she asked. The ones in the pinnance were the questionable ones. The moment that they realized the captain was coming with, they were quick to scoot over and make room in the middle of the boat for her. Only once she was settled in did they start for the shoreline. Not that they really needed to use the boat honestly but sometimes it was nice to actually feel human for once.

"You two, with me. The rest of you, do whatever you will here. Raid and plunder to your heart's content. But you find that medallion and you bring it to me." Harley ordered the moment that they stepped on shore before they all split off separate ways; her and two others went off towards one side of town, two others went more towards the middle, and the other two went more towards the right side. Eventually they'd all meet up after having some mayhem and havoc among the people but they damn well focus on their primary task first: that medallion was going to be hers.

--------

Jade sat in the corner of her cell, a small sigh leaving her lips as she tried her best to ignore the throbbing in the back of her head. It was careless of her to have not noticed the drunken man when she was dueling that woman. She had been so close too, so close to being able to escape and now she was stuck. Again. How long had it been since she had awoken? It clearly had been some time since it was already night when she glanced out the window. Laying herself down on the ground, she heard the men in the cells next to her yet again attempting to get the dog that carried the keys in its mouth to come their way. No matter what they tried it wouldn't work and she had already tried explaining that to them. It was pointless. But as they were attempting again, Jade heard an all too familiar BOOM! Instantly she sat up and practically shouted, "I know those guns!" Jade ran over to the dismal little barred window and peered out of it in time to see the familiar black flags. Her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest and her eyes all too quickly lit up with a passion. "It's the Black Pearl." The words left her lips with an almost excited tone but the prisoners in the other cell that had gathered at the other window didn't seem too thrilled at all.

"The Black Pearl? The ghost ship that's been preying on other ships and towns for almost ten years now. I heard there's never any survivors whenever that ships comes around." One of them spoke with a trembling in his tone and Jade couldn't help but to turn a small grin to him.

"Oh there's tons of stories of the Black Pearl, love. Tons."

Jamie-Lynn Norrington

Not even twenty-four hours had passed with Jamie-Lynn having the title of Commodore before they were under siege. Such rotten luck, she hardly could believe it was so. Her fingers were curled around the handle of her sword so tightly that her knuckles turned white. In front, she led the men to the streets. It was utter madness. Common folk running around screaming as the pirate ship kept firing off their cannons. There were no sign of the pirates yet, so that meant she had time to cut them off before they got too deep into the city. First, thing first though, someone needed to get these people inside. Pivoting, she faced her men as she continued walking, now backwards.

“You lot. Start getting everyone off the streets and into their homes where it is safe. The rest of you, with me, we’re going to cut them off.” Or try. Even if they couldn’t be held, certainly she could make it so fewer got inside. “CHOP, CHOP men. My granny would be moving faster!” It was clear they were all practical petrified, but they needed to snap out of that or they wouldn’t live to tell about this battle. Turning on her heels, she spun around and marched towards the shore line. Just as predicted, they were coming ashore and she and her men met them on the skirts of town, near the beach. “Men!” drawing her sword she took a step back while men with rifle stepped in front and began firing.

In groups, they split off in three ways. Four men went after the group heading to town. Two were headed for the large fancy house, the Governor’s mansion, but before the Commodore could order men after them she was locking swords with a grey haired woman. The way she dressed and her stance, Jamie-Lynn was betting that this was the Captain of the ship. None of it was adding up. Port Royal was heavily guarded, pirates didn’t just come here to raid and pillage.

“What is your business here.” she demanded, pushing the locked blades apart and then doing a quick lunge attack, quick to parry any counter attacks. The new blade she wielded was fantastic and light. Some men had already fallen, but they were still holding their own and only a few pirates had slipped pass their guard. Scanning the beach, Norrington saw the two still headed towards the manor. Odd pirates as they didn’t see as well equipped as the ones she was battling. “After those two!” The order got lost in the battle and there was nothing to be done about it as she was still tied in a duel between the Captain.

Elijah Swan

The-Musketeers-Aramis-the-musketeers-bbc-36887588-245-300.gif
Netra was a gangly awkward girl, even as she charged, heading towards the large mansion. She just was graceless, lumbering forward at a slow pace, but fast to her. Clothes she wore were ragged and holy. Thinned blonde hair stuck to her sweaty face as she pressed forward. The feature that stuck out the most was her fake wooden eyeball that looked the other way like a lazy eye. A squeal excitement was let out as they reach the two large double doors to the mansion. Using the big metal knocker, she knocked and turned to her friend with a mischievous grin as they waited for someone to answer the door.

The gun fire had alerted Elijah to what was happening outside. An elderly maid, one that has looked after him since he was a child, stopped him to warn him they would be coming for him. Hold him for ransom. Quickly, he hid her, after some convincing. The familiar thud of the door knock caught his ear as he was coming down the hall. To the top of the stair case he ran, trying to stop the servant in time before he let whomever in.

“NO!” he shouted, too late. The door had been opened and immediately a shot was fired into the man’s head. The body fell backwards to reveal the pirates gazing up at him like a pack of wild wolves. A chill ran down Elijah’s back as the skinny one spoke.

“Ello, handsome.” The three stared for a brief second before Elijah took off down the hall. He hid in his Father’s study. A three prong candle stick holder was used to jam the door shut. In attempt to arm himself, he grabbed the handle of these two swords that crisscrossed on display only to find they were fake and stuck together. The door bulged as the pirates tried to open them. “Let us in handsome.” Netra demanded, throwing her body against the door one more time. To make it seem like he ran away, Elijah opened a window before slipping into the closet before the two pirates broke through the door. “Come out, come out, handsome.” The skinny one said, looking over the room for any sign of the man.

Captain Harley Barbossa

For the most part, Harley kept towards the back and had her eyes peeled on just about everything. The buffoons with her went rampant exactly as she thought they would the moment that they stepped on shore but it was mostly because they were so excitable. A couple of steps in, she closed her eyes and tried her hardest to feel where the coin was but it was difficult. It couldn't be done unless the coin was actually in the water. A small sigh left her lips as she realized the only real way to find it was going to be exactly how she wanted it to be: raiding and plundering, what she and her crew did best. Though the few that had already split off had likely make it into the town already, there was already a welcoming party to greet Harley. For a moment she rose her brow at the brave men that dared face them before she let out a small laugh at their feeble attempts. Did they not know the flags of the Black Pearl or the damned crew? If they didn't know, they'd soon find out.

"Let not one of these men alive, boys. Have your fun tonight." Harley called out as she drew her sword and headed straight for the one that just had that air about her that she was in command. Get rid of the leader and the rest were child's play. She swung her sword and parried the other's blows but she didn't put as much effort as she should have into it. The truth was, even she wanted to have a little fun now that she was on shore. She wasn't going to let the chance slip by. The question caused her to quirk her brow but she didn't answer it right away. Instead, she pulled out one of her pistols and fired it on one of the Navy men that had been trying to slip away from the combat to go towards the town. Only then did she turn her attention back to the other woman, a sly grin growing on her lips. "My, my. It seems that it must just be looks that lets people led the Navy these days if you can't figure out why pirates are here. Hmm." Harley spoke a bit sarcastically before she made for another strike, feigning a low one followed closely by one from above. "Do these men actually follow you because you can lead or do they just follow you because you have a pretty face? I wonder."

A few chuckles from her own men could be heard as they took down a couple more of the Navy men, dwindling their numbers down rather quickly. Soon there were three other pirates at Harley's side with their swords aimed at the woman before her but the silver haired woman held up her hand to keep them from attacking. She made a motion around them to show that the Navy men were clearly out-maned and out-matched, there wasn't anything that they could do. This was pretty much their only chance to run should they do so as Harley's attention went to the commanding woman. "What's your name, woman?"

--------

Peyton had no troubles keeping up with the other pirate, although she was far from being as skinny as the other woman. Quite the opposite really. She was chubby and short, which made her look bigger than she actually was. Her brown hair curled in a lot of directions near the bottom and seemed to lay flat against her head near the top, also opposite effects. But none of that really bothered her. She had that sort of rugged look about her that showed she knew hard labor and that look in her eye that showed she wasn't afraid to kill. But despite the aggressive side of her that came out whenever they were out like this, the truth was she was exactly the opposite a lot of times mentally as well; a scared, meek girl that people took advantage of. Maybe that was way the Captain did so well with her and Netra. The Captain always took care of them, even if she didn't openly show she cared. That was why Peyton tried so hard to to everything she could and she'd make sure to find that coin. But after having a little fun. A soft little giggle left her lips when they reached the door as she pulled out her double barreled flintlock pistol and waited anxiously for the door to open. Why they didn't just bust it down didn't even occur to her. The second that it was open, Peyton shot the man square in the chest and ran inside to look around. Her eyes instantly locked with the man at the top of the stairs; for a moment it seemed like it was a stare down of sorts before he ran.

Peyton quickly gave the other pirate a grin before running up the stairs to chase after the man. "C'mon mate, we just wanna play." Peyton added playfully once she was at the barred door, taking note that it was held fairly tightly. But that wouldn't stop them any. At the exact moment that Netra threw her body into the door, Peyton did the same with her own and their combined weight broke the door and threw it off of its hinges. Peyton ended up stumbling a little into the room but she quickly got back to her feet and readied her pistol. There was something here with the man, something that was almost calling to the pirates in a way and she was starting to think it was exactly what it was they were searching for. "You've got something that belongs to us, mate. We know you're here, we won't hurt you." It was a lie but it was still said in the sweetest of voices that would make any man believe her. Both pirates looked all around the room but it was the medallion itself that tipped them off that he was still here. Taking in a deep whiff, Peyton pretended to keep looking around as if she didn't know anymore where it was. "The gold calls to us." The words left Peyton's lips strongly as if she were in some sort of trance as she motioned to her partner where the man was hiding. Once they crept on either side, Peyton noticed the gap and peeked through it to see their prey.

" 'ello, handsome." She cooed softly before flinging the door open, gun already aimed towards the man.

The pirates were being watched through the small crack between the two double doors. The two were strange characters and didn’t seem that smart as it took them a while to even check the closet. Elijah knew the hiding spot wasn’t ideal, but it was the best he could do in the moment. Gold. The coin that dangled from his neck grew heavier as he knew exactly what they were talking about. The day Willow was found he took while she was passed out, in case the adults would mistake her being a pirate because of it. The medallion turned in his hand as he remembered the day. The footsteps had been so quiet that he was unware he was found until he heard the chilling voice of the fat pirate.

“Parlay.” The coin was dropped and swung out in the open. The scrawny pirate dropped her gun and gave him a look of disbelief. A strew of curse were let out as she waved her pistol in the air angrily. It was bizarre. “Parlay.” he repeated calmly, seeing that it would need to be said twice for these two. “According to the Pirate Brethren, set down by Morgan and Bartholomew, parlay allows any person to invoke temporary protection until brought before the captain to negotiate.” The explanation of the word angered the one pirate even more. The gun was pointed at his face once more.

“We KNOW the code.” she screamed angrily. Elijah sent his hands up in the air as he went deeper into the closet to put some space between him and the one pirate. The smell of her breathe, like her teeth were rotting out of her mouth, caused his face to wrinkle in disgust. Netra noticed the face of disgust. “Let’s kill him anyway.” The gun was jammed up against his temple. “No one will ever know.” Elijah glared at her briefly, but turned to the other. Seemed she was a bit more intelligent, though they both clearly lacked common sense.

Jamie-Lynn Norrington

The Captain was defiantly a challenge. Quite refreshing as there hadn’t been any action around Port Royal for a while. The low and high attack was parried. A break in the sequence took place as Jamie-Lynn circled. In this moment she took in detail to remember for later. The pirate features, her men, the ship behind the woman. All things would lead to the Commodore finding her and stringing her up in the gallows later. A cut attack had their swords lock.

“Aw, you think I’m pretty? A good question though, one you probably never had to consider for yourself.” Jamie-Lynn spared a glance to look her over in a sarcastic manner. The other navy men were having more trouble in their duels and many had fallen and other’s fled as the Commodore was surrounded. Mental note, throw the deserters in cell when all of this was over. “Commodore Norrington and you are?” she cocked her head to the side a little. Retreating a few steps back, her sword still high in the air, she remained in combat stance. Reinforcements started trickling, not all her men were cowards.  Thankfully. Ten or so men were on their knees aiming there rifles at the pirates. A familiar voice, should fire behind her and she looked at the Captain.

“Shall we continue?” she asked, lunging in an attack now that the pirates that had surrounded her were busy once more. This time her hits were fiercer and she thrust in an upward direction, hard enough to make the other slightly unsteady. The first day as Commodore and she surly wasn’t going to be made a fool by being beaten by a pirate. “Tell me do you prefer the noose or an axe hacking at your neck?” No sentence of death would be a nice one, both gruesome. An example would be made, since she was Captain. Perhaps, tying to a post for the crows to eat for a couple of days would be fitting.

Captain Harley Barbossa

"Well, well. Commodore." Harley let the title slip from her lips as she gave an overly done bow in a sarcastic manner towards the other woman. "Captain Barbossa, at your service." Harley straightened up with a sweet smile as she eyed the new men that were lining up their guns. This made her own men laugh a little before they split off to charge at the new Navy men that had made their appearance. Harley's own attention stayed on the woman as she had come in with another attack; the fact that it came harder caused the grin on Harley's face to grow a bit more. It grew until she let out a laugh at the other woman's words right before she threw another attack that ended up locking their blades together. "Death's sweet embrace. I wonder what it might feel like to be enveloped in darkness." Oh wait, no she didn't. She was already damned in the first place so she knew what it felt like. Using her strength, she thrust both of her arms forward to knock the Commodore off balance and free her own blade. In that moment, she felt it; the call of the gold and glanced over her shoulder. Two of the pirates were loading up a male into their boat and were heading back to the ship. This caused her brow to raise a bit but she knew without any doubts: that man had what she was searching for.

Drawing her attention back to the woman, Harley ducked low and attempted to kick the woman's feet out from underneath her. It was a diversion though so it mattered little whether it worked or not. She grabbed a handful of the sand on the ground and as she jumped up, she shifted closer to the woman and threw the sand right into her face. "It's been fun dancing, Commodore but I've got a date that I need to get ready for. Perhaps we can meet again and play more then. Tata for now." Harley let out a whistle that seemed to catch the ears of most of the pirates, each of them finishing off what they were doing quickly. They followed after their captain and made their way back to their ship as the Commodore was occupied...

--------

"What?" Peyton couldn't believe her ears at first when the word was spoken from the man. She didn't think someone that lived in such a nice place could possibly know the code yet here he was, reciting where it came from too. As Netra seemed to be infuriated by the use of the code, Peyton eyed the man for a long moment. The way that her partner wanted to kill him right off the bat seemed like a good idea but..."No." Peyton tapped her hand on the other pirate's chest to get her attention and shook her head slowly. "He wants to be taken to the captain and he'll go without a fuss. Won't you?" First Peyton looked to Netra and then turned her growing smile to Elijah. Only once he nodded did she let out a small giggle. "We must honor the code." As much as she kept herself composed, she was sure that Netra would pick up on her sarcasm. The fact that the man carrying the gold wanted to meet with their captain to begin with just made things easier for them. Once Netra had lowered her gun, Peyton reached in and took a firm hold on the man's arm. "Come along, then." Even though she said that, she was just about dragging the man along with her at this point as she led the way out of the room and down the stairs. Back outside of the house and continuing down the streets that were full of screaming people running around. She paid little attention to anything else but the task at hand. Once they were at the longboat, she just about tossed Elijah in before she and Netra got in to row them back to the Black Pearl.

Once they were close enough, they attached the ropes to their boat and only a moment later were they being lifted up to the deck of the ship. Peyton got out first then made a motion to the other two to follow her. "I didn't know we was takin' prisoners." One of the pirates on board the ship, a gruff, overly built man spoke up and pointed at Elijah.

"He invoked the right of parlay with Captain Barbossa." Peyton spoke up, ignoring the looks that some of the pirates exchanged upon hearing that. Instead, she just made sure that Elijah was on deck so that she and Netra could attach the longboat properly. A few of the pirates went back to the cannons that they had been manning to continue the onslaught that was started. Only a few moments went by before a loud call of a monkey could be heard above the noise of the cannons. It grabbed Peyton's attention and she turned to see her Captain coming from the other side of the ship, where another longboat was being fashioned. Peyton was about to speak up about Elijah calling parlay but Harley held up her hand to silence the shorter woman before anything could be said. For the time being, she eyed the man before her with a curious gaze and set a hand to rest on the hilt of her sword. Not in a threatening manner but more of a relaxed one than anything.

A scoff came out of her thin lips as her idea was rejected. What was he other than dead weight? The gun was still high in the air, trigger finger ready to squeeze any moment. Netra looked to Peyton when the other tapped her chest. What the Captain didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her, but she knew it was a losing argument. The gun didn’t budge, but she looked to the man for him to answer. Elijah nodded in agreement to going quietly. At this time it was all he could really do to stay alive. The two exchanged more words, like they were pulling some grand trick on him. His gaze shifted between the two of them while they talked. The gun was lowered and suddenly they both each had an arm of his and were dragging him down the stairs and out of the house into the cool night.

Port Royal was in utter chaos. Civilians ran for their lives in the street. Screams of the ones unfortunate enough to not get away from the pirates in time rang through the streets. Elijah hadn’t seen much of what was going on as he was being chauffeured to the ship as quickly as possible. The two weren’t gentle. Before the row boat was pushed out off shore they tossed him into it like a ragdoll. The commodore could be seen on the shore fighting with the pirates to protect the city. Every pirate seemed to be leaving now and he could make out the blonde on her knees wiping something from her face. Not before too long they were boarding the ship. Clearly this hadn’t been such a good idea as he thought before, but he tried to hide how nervous he was to be aboard the ship. There was little welcoming. A large one questioned him coming aboard almost immediately. It didn’t seem to bother his captors any, but he had an inkling that many didn’t like his presence. Many started firing at his home, no longer interested.

A screech from a monkey caught everyone’s attention and Elijah looked for where it come from, but his eyes landed on a pirate that was fast approaching and seemed to be in charge by the way she held her hand out to silence shorter one. No words were being exchanged, she was just studying him. This was no time to show fear, so he instigated the conversation.

“I’m here to negotiate the terms - -” A large beefy pirate came out and landed a punch square in the jaw, cutting Elijah off from finishing his sentence.

“Don’t speak unless spoke too.” The voice was a deep growl and the man was clearly worked up from Elijah speaking. The taste of blood was almost instant and he went up to gingerly touch where the man had hit him before spitting some blood in front of the man’s feet. A smile was forced to show he was no longer going to speak out of term, for the time being.
