Name: Kenshin Natsume

Alias: Muramasa

Amalgamation: Kenuichio Harada (Marvel) and Tatsu Yamashiro (DC)

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Race: Human

Affiliation:
  • First Line Contracted: Japan Ministry of Defense
  • Senior Contracted:
Personality: Kenshin is a mentally and spiritually refined individual. He still has emotions but he channels them effectively. This is easily mistaken for him being stoic man which is not the case. However, his mind is influenced by the possession of the Muramasa Blade. If he ever has violent or evil outburst it’s from influence of the Muramasa Blade. He keeps the blade mostly in check with his strong willpower.

History: Kenshin was born and raised in Kyoto. For those who find his birthplace it’s fronted as a simple martial arts dojo. It’s actually the home of Clan Natsume who have been ninja since times of ancient Japan. The clan keeps with these traditions today, children are brought up being trained in ninjutsu. These times no one is forced to pursue the family business of being ninja. Everyone is made to seek their own path whether that’s to use their skills or not. Kenshin left to see what opportunities awaited him for legal use of his skills.

Within the clan is an ancient sword forged by the blacksmith Sengo Muramasa. The Muramasa itself is imbued with powerful supernatural power. One of Kenshin’s clansmen stole the blade and drew it becoming possessed by its power. He slaughtered all members of the clan who remained at their hidden location at the time. The murderer regain his sanity and joined the Yakuza as opposed to atoning for his crime.

Kenshin upon finding out what had happened ceased his efforts to get contracted. He went rogue and hunted down the man who slaughtered so much of his clan. His vengeance would be exacted when the man would become possessed by the Muramasa blade again. He went into a very noticeable killing sprees in Tokyo. Kenshin took the opportunity to face him one on one and kill him. Kenshin took possession of the Muramasa and it tried to corrupt him, Kenshin’s willpower ultimately won out. Not before he would be captured and locked up for vigilantism. When he was booked he was offered a plea deal to contract instead of going to prison, he took the plea deal.

Abilities:
Ninjutsu
Ninja Magic

Equipment: He carries a ninja scroll form which he can summon a large arsenal of ninjutsu based weaponry

His main weapon is the Muramasa. The sword was forged by Sengo Muramasa hundreds of years ago. The Muramasa is the ancestral sword of the Natsume Clan. However, it take some of strong will power to not be driven insane by its power. Kenshin has yet to actually unlock much of the blade’s actual power. It’s capable of harming mystical and supernatural entities, the blade itself is nigh indestructible.

Weaknesses:
  • Lacks any actual super strength or durability
  • Muramasa‘s Influence
  • Anti Magic can nullify his ninja magic

Plans for Development:
  • Unlock more of the Muramasa’s power
  • Learn more of the history behind the Muramasa
  • Contract entities for summoning

Other: The Muramasa and Natsume Clan will factor a lot into his character development.

Name: Vance-El, Clark Astrovik

Alias(es)(optional): Johnny Future, formerly Marvel Boy and The Missing Link

Amalgamation: Superman and Vance Astrovik

Age: 35

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Race: Kryptonian Mutate

Affiliation: Justice Defenders, The 30th Century Club, The Daily Herald, The New York punk scene, and formerly, The Young Warriors.

Personality(Optional): Clark is what would happen if you took a stereotypical New Yorker and drained them of their cynicism. He sees the best in everyone, and generally tries to avoid fights with people he considers good.

History:
You know how this sort of thing normally starts out. I'm not going to insult your intelligence and act like you don't.

This time around, the alien child fell in the Hudson River and was found by Arnold and Norma Astrovik. His relationship with his father was less than loving, however, who considered him a freak by the time his Kryptonian powers developed.
He was far closer to his grandfather on his mother's side, Jonathan, who convinced Clark to take up using his powers for good on his deathbed. Clark became Marvel Boy and fight crime around the New York area.

Notably, Marvel Boy traveled back and forth between the present and the 30th Century several times as a teenage crime-fighter, assisting a club of similarly aged heroes. In the months he spent in the future, he fought everyone from the calculating Computron, to the cosmically powerful Nil Man, and even the tragically backwards Void Boy.

With the lessons he learned from The Club, he returned to the present and formed the Young Warriors, a group of young heroes, including Namorette, Night-Robin, Spitball, and Nova Ray.

After exposure to red Kryptonite, Clark temporarily became a man-beast known as The Missing Link before returning to his normal form. After those events, he developed telekinesis beyond the base abilities of a Kryptonian under a yellow sun.

He currently works at the Daily Herald with his pal Jimmy Parker.

(I think this section is in a complete enough form to RP with, but I'll probably still add more as we go along to flesh out his history.)

Abilities:
  • Genius-level intellect
    • Fast Learner: Johnny Future can learn new tricks for powers he has by witnessing people with the same powers do them, like making tornadoes with super-speed
  • Accomplished combatant
  • Telekinesis: Clark has the 'mind-powers of a man from the future', which allow him to move objects, shield himself from damage, and hit people with 'brain blasts.'
  • Kryptonian Physiology: Like those four panels, I assume you know what most of these are, so I won't give that in-depth of an explanation
    • Solar Radiation absorption
    • Super-senses (see good, smell good, taste good, etc.)
    • Superhuman Speed
    • Superhuman Strength
    • Heat vision
    • X-Ray Vision
    • Flight
    • Ice Breath

Equipment:
  • Negative Zone Projector: An old Kryptonian piece of technology, this invention sends people to the mysterious Negative Zone, a dimension full of strange creatures and vicious warlords. This was seen as a fitting punishment back on the dead planet, but Future considers it too inhumane for most criminals.
  • The really big key: The only way to enter the Fortress of Solitude is to pick this huge thing up and shove it in a really big keyhole. Inefficient for anyone who doesn't have super-strength.

Weaknesses:
  • Kryptonite
  • Magic
  • Mental overexertion: All psionically-gifted heroes have their-upper limits. Future's just happens to be very high, but if he pushes himself too far, he can do himself serious damage

  • Name: Professor Martin Banner

    Alias(es): Meltdown

Amalgamation: Robert Bruce Banner (Marvel) & Martin Stein (DC)

    Age: 51

    Gender: Male

    Sexuality: Heterosexual

    Race: Human

    Affiliation: Culver University

    Personality(Optional):

    History:

Martin Banner was the son of Dr. David Banner, an atomic scientist, and his wife Laura. Martin’s childhood was a fascinating yet tragic dichotomy; while his mother loved him intensely and showered him with affection, his father harboured an insane jealousy and hatred for the boy and grew more and more abusive over time. David’s insanity and rage eventually grew to a level that he could no longer contain. He murdered Laura in front of his son, and was placed into a mental institution for the criminally insane. Martin, who was already a quiet and contemplative youth, coped with this loss by emotionally withdrawing from the world about him. Martin went to live with his aunt, who raised him as best as she was able.

After graduating from high school, Martin studied nuclear physics eventually obtaining a doctorate in the subject. As an adult, Banner became a physics professor at Culver University. It was here that he met several impressionable young students, including Emma Frost. Frost had developed a schoolgirl crush on Banner, but the older man was unwilling to reciprocate her affection as he was married to a woman named Elizabeth Clemens. Frost's amorous feelings towards Banner would return to haunt him many years later.

Banner wished to pursue philanthropic brands of science eventually coming to develop the layout for the country's first completely safe atomic testing centre. His commitment to the plant became an obsession for Banner, and he sacrificed everything, even his marriage, to see it come to fruition. Unwilling to play second-fiddle to Banner's career, Elizabeth Clemens sued for divorce. Marital issues only represented the beginning of Banner's troubles however.

Unable to receive any financial funding for his project, and thus in lack of other options, Banner went to work at a United States Defence Department nuclear research facility at Hudson Base, New Mexico. There Banner met General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Eiling, the Air Force officer in command of the base. Banner designed and oversaw construction of the "Gamma Bomb," a nuclear weapon possessing a high gamma radiation output.

Banner was present in the instrumentation bunker at the test site for the first underground test detonation of the Firestorm Bomb. Observing that a group of anti-nuclear protesters had breached security and entered the restricted test area, Banner told his colleague Eddie Starsky to delay the countdown while he tried to escort the civilians to safety. Starsky, secretly an eco terrorist and agent for a violent anti-nuclear group, did nothing, confident that Banner would die in the explosion, bringing the project to a halt. Reaching the protesters, including a teenager named Rick Raymond, the majority fled to safety while Banner and Raymond where caught in the explosion, consuming both men in a brilliant burst of radiation and fusing Rick Raymond and Martin Banner into a single composite being – Meltdown.

    Abilities:
    Genius-Level Intellect:
Professor Martin Banner is a genius in the fields of nuclear physics and chemistry.

    Equipment:
    N/A

    Weaknesses:
    Alcoholism:
As a result of his traumatic upbringing, Martin would drink frequently. Whilst he has since quit, he continues to struggle and avoid falling off the wagon making him susceptible to the prospect of drinking, specially when under pressure.

Costume: Bourne wears a high-tech bullet-proof suit with a mohawk helmet inspired by Ares, in a marketable tacticool faux-camo green color scheme.

Name: James Bourne (probably)

Alias(es)(optional): Jarhead

Amalgamation: Peacemaker (DC) and Solo (Marvel)

Age: Likely in his 30's

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Publicly marketed as heterosexual, otherwise unknown

Race: Cyborg

Affiliation: The world governments, Project: Peacemaker, Lexcorp

Personality: As a person, Jarhead is less than the sum of his parts. He has the nationalistic drive of Peacemaker and the war on terror of Solo, but without most of their redeeming qualities. He's the type to view the government as always being in the right, and those who fight break the laws formed by the accords as terrorists comparable to the super villains they fight. Crime-fighting is a war and he sees himself as more of a soldier than a human. The fact he makes this distinction rubs other military veteran heroes the wrong way.

History: As far as researchers can gather, Bourne was in some branch of the US military. Most prior subjects in LexCorp's Project: Peacemaker were also veterans of various wars and chosen for their experience in the matter of shooting people till they were dead.
Lex Liger's cybernetics division wanted to make competitors to the burgeoning 'supers industry', knowing the accords would probably be passed in the following years. Making the new Star-Spangled Man looks good for a massive corporation, after all.
The first few attempts weren't successful by any stretch of the imagination. They all resulted in psychological wrecks or agents with ulterior motives.
Bourne's problems were exploitable and his goals were aligned with the company in terms of taking out whoever they didn't like. He was the ultimate soldier.

LexCorp proceeded to unveil him to the public, marketing him as a real life GI Joe. They made bumper stickers for the grown-ups, toys for the kiddies and all kinds of t-shirts for people of all ages. It was like they plucked an action movie hero out of the screen and had him start killing baddies and people paid attention.

His violent methods were brought to the attention's public after his handling of a situation involving the supervillain Fancy Clown and the vigilante Simon Ferocious. Fancy Clown died (briefly, he got better, as people do in this line of work) and a corporate-backed killer became the most divisive figure in the superhero community.

Abilities:
  • Short-range teleportation
  • Military training

Equipment:
  • Corporate cache: LexCorp provides Jarhead with just about any gun he'll need. For reference, that's a lot of guns.
  • Jet pack: In the absence of alien genetics or freaky mutations, Jarhead flies with a jetpack.

Weaknesses:
  • Power gap: Bourne is significantly physically weaker than any heavy-hitters he might come into contact with, especially the kind that bullets bounce off of.

Name: Edward "Eddie" Jordan

Alias(es): Green Venom, Venom Knight, Lethal Lantern

Amalgamation: Eddie Brock/Venom (Marvel) and Hal Jordan/Green Lantern (DC)

Age: 30's

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Race: Human

Affiliation: Guardians of the Universe, Symbiote Imperium, Green Venom Corps

Personality(Optional):

History:

The Guardians of the Universe warred with the Symbiote Imperium for eons, until an eventual truce was formed, and part of the uneasy ceasefire was the mutual creation of a new collaborative intergalactic peacekeeping force - the Green Venom Corp. Due to the Symbiote Imperium’s inherent nature of aggression and violence, the Guardians had to seek out the most strong-willed individuals from each sector to exert enough influence over their symbiote partners to curb their more extreme tendencies.

Edward "Eddie" Jordan was born in New Coast to Jamie and Carl Jordan. As a boy, he idolised his father, a pilot, but his father was cold and distant towards him. Eddie constantly attempted to obtain his father's approval though, after excelling in school, he had to face his greatest fears when he died in a plane crash. Traumatised by the event, Eddie set out to uncover the circumstances of his father's death and began pursuing a degree in investigative journalism. At college, he romanced Anne Cruz, a fellow student and after graduating moved to Franciscoast City. As a member of the Associated Press, he obtained a job as a journalist for the Ferris Globe.

A few years later, an alien named Abin Kar, member of the Green Venom Corps, crash-landed his starship in the Californian desert. Hearing reports, Eddie rushed to the scene intent on breaking the story. Making his way to the alien spacecraft, Eddie came upon the dying alien who sensed he had great willpower and therefore would make a suitable replacement officer for his position. The ring and its abilities were explained to him by the alien before dying, and he inherited the mantle of Green Venom. Acting as a galactic police officer, it was his job to serve and protect all life in Sector 616.

Eddie eventually came into contact with the other Symbiote Corps: the Screamestro Corp, the Red Carnage Corp, the Agony Sapphires, the Orange Phage Corp, the Blue Mayhem Corp, the Scorn Tribe and the Black Riot Corps and learnt of the prophecy of the Absolute Night.

Powers:
Symbiotic Costume:
The alien symbiote, (who appears as a ring on Eddie's finger out of battle) can uses it’s shapeshifting abilities to grant Eddie a range of abilities, including creating any tool or weapon he can imagine.
  • Superhuman Strength
  • Superhuman Speed
  • Superhuman Agility
  • Superhuman Senses
  • Superhuman Stamina
  • Superhuman Reflexes
  • Superhuman Durability
  • Constituent-Matter Generation
  • Constituent-Matter Manipulation
  • Invisibility
  • Shapeshifting
  • Night Vision
  • Telepathy Resistance
Abilities:
Expert Reporter:
Before his bonding with the symbiote, Eddie Jordan was an incredibly skilled reporter for the Ferris Globe, and knew how to investigate. He also had many sources of information that aided him in helping with his plans.

Equipment:
N/A

Weaknesses:
Sonic and Heat:
The symbiote is extremely sensitive to sonic and thermal attacks, making it vulnerable, although the degree of sensitivity has varied over time and the symbiote has built up a resistance.

Psychological Corruption: The symbiote, like others of its kind, is susceptible to the negative emotions of its host - particularly rage and hatred. At its worst, the symbiote is a bloodthirsty predator that seeks to corrupt or outright control its hosts, compelling them to satiate its ravenous hunger
