Realistic or Modern Nilsi's plot-tastic post!

Hello all! I’ve got a few excellent roleplays to keep me ticking over but I’m on the lookout for a few more. I’m really looking for people who are interested in writing a longer term roleplay and might like some OOC interaction too. I have a busy work life and travel quite a bit but I try to respond to messages most days. I write in third person and past tense and can easily adapt post length to suit my partners. I've very adaptable.

In terms of my requirements (not many of them!):

  • Over 18 only please.
  • Realistic storytelling please and no writing actions for my character.
  • To stick around (I know real life gets in the way, I’m cool with that, but please don’t vanish… it makes me sad :( )
  • Hopefully be willing to chat OOC and all that.

I’m very laid back and I'm very open to suggestions, so if any of the themes below don't seem of interest, maybe drop me a message with any suggestions of things you might like to try! These are just a tiny portion of the themes I'd like to try out and below you can find a list of plots, all of which are open to discussion and changes. (My preferences are in Bold)

Nilsi ;')

Themes

  • Modern/realistic/slice (friends, adventure, employment, Prison, School, University, health issues).
  • Paranormal (ghost/human, demon/human, angel/human, angel/demon)
  • Royalty/government (royal/commoner, royal/royal, coup d'etat, revolution, war)
  • Futuristic (alien world, post apocalyptic Earth, space travel)
  • Historical (Vikings, Romans Particularly)

Vague Ideas
The following are general ideas which do not have any plot details to flesh them out but I am craving and would love to build plots with those who are interested.

  • WW2 secret police: This could be related to arrest and investigation of a suspected spy/defector/resistance fighter AND/OR a relationship between this character and someone else.
  • WW2 Downed pilot: German pilot shot down over Southern England and is either hidden by a sympathetic person, perhaps someone he has played a part in saving OR held captive without the knowledge of the authorities as personal vengeance for a family member lost in the war.
  • Modern: Failing marriage
  • ~1900 British Coal Mining: MxM forbidden love

Plots

++ Compartment 2B on the Prague to Vienna ++

Two strangers meet on an intercity express train, both are running but for very different reasons (witness of a crime/victim of harassment or abuse/ criminals). Their train ride leads to a chase of epic proportions across Europe where neither know who they can and can't trust.
Note: This can be adapted to be a US based story.

++ Courting a courier ++

Muse A is the son/daughter of a CEO of a large firm with offices in a large city. Fresh out of University they have ‘landed’ a great internship to get them started in life. Family connections have their benefits! Muse B cycles for a living. Far from being a superstar rider in the Tour de France, Muse B is a courier for a small delivery firm in the city. When he picks up a new route and makes a late delivery, the boss isn’t happy, but Muse A takes a liking to the new delivery man.

frequent deliveries lead to snaps of time to chat and get to know each other, all under the watchful and mistrustful eye of Muse A’s father.

Reykjavik booze cruise

(Credit: Plot inspiration from ‘Reykjavik Rotterdam’) Desperate times call for desperate measures. For Icelandic brothers Muse A and Muse B this was no different. Muse A worked on board the
Norðurljós (Northlight) container ship, transporting goods between Iceland and the European mainland, Scandinavia and British Isles. Muse B had resigned himself to a dull life as a security guard on the docks.
After losing his job and in desperate need of money, Muse B convinces his brother to get him a job on board and the dubious captain agrees. Muse B is a fast learner and after the first few voyages shows that he is a capable and hard worker. Muse A is surprised and rightly suspicious of his brother.

After docking for 48 hours in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Muse A‘s suspicions are raised when his brother vanishes and arrives back at the ship an hour before departure. After a dressing down from their boss and his brother, Muse B downplays the situation.
During the voyage, Muse A uncovers just what Muse B is up to. Smuggling alcohol. The amount is small, but enough to be illegal when undeclared and taken into Iceland untaxed. A confrontation between the brothers ends with Muse A agreeing to help, with the brothers starting to plan how to get it off the ship undetected and set up a bigger haul for their next trip.

What could possibly go wrong?

OR

For the more romantically inclined. Muse A can be substituted by anyone (M or F) and there can be a budding romance over this cunning plan to become modern day smugglers.

++ In sickness and in health? ++

Muse A and Muse B have the perfect marriage. They live in a lovely house and both have good jobs, take amazing vacations and socialise with like-minded friends.

When Muse A develops a severe mental health condition/suffers a traumatic brain injury Muse B holds their marriage vows but it isn’t easy.

A revolution isn’t such a simple thing

In a small European country, the final stages of transferring any real powers the Monarchy held in ruling the country over to the parliament. The country would soon be a true constitutional monarchy where the King (Muse A) would remain the figurative head of state, and the Prime Minister would be the leader of the country.

The King was respected by many and willingly worked with the call of his people, being an advocate of democracy and wishing to do what was needed to best serve his people. While his title would remain and be passed to his descendants, his role would be purely symbolic.

The seeming slowing of this transfer of power in the wake of the rise of an opposition party in parliament started to increase tensions and a sudden announcement that the King would be halting the process sparked anger and unrest.

Muse B was shocked. Their older brother was seething. As a leading member of the opposition group, the brother was quickly involved with the implementation of a Coup, which had been pre-planned in the event that things did not go their way. The group quickly acted to take control of the country, arresting the King. Muse B found themselves thrust into a role within the coup and set out in finding their own answers to why the king had gone back on his word.

The truth would be discovered and acting would be dangerous, but Muse B knew they would need to help the King escape and avert a complete disaster for the country from a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.

Why did it have to be this one?...

An American couple had always wanted a second child. Muse A, their first child, had always wanted a little brother or sister. Despite years of trying, this didn’t seem to be possible and adoption was going to be their solution.

Muse B had not been in government care for long. Removed from an unsafe and unsuitable home, the child of a foreign couple recently settled and living in the USA, he wasn’t sure what to expect.

Muse A was not looking to foster an older child and the family had been considering meeting with social workers regarding adopting a young child or baby, but a chance meeting between Muse A and Muse B sped the process up and changed their minds.

Muse B was fostered by the couple successfully and later adopted, providing not a younger brother, but older brother to their child. Everything seemed to be going well for the family at first, though Muse A’s husband held his doubts.

The start of a new middle school year proves to be a turning point for the new addition to the family and poor behaviour and academic struggles begin to put a strain on everyone.

Humans make excellent pets

40,000 years into the future humans who had left Earth to colonise a habitable planet in a distant solar system have evolved, although have lost their connections to their place of origin. Earthbound humans are believed to be extinct after changes in the climate altered society on Earth. However across various alien races, reports of lone specimens have been made. Due to their primitive nature in comparison to the evolved humans (apparent loss of developed language, reading, writing), they are classified as animals.

Muse A is the son/daughter of the curator of a successful zoological facility, and has a keen interest in animals. (This character could be an evolved human or from an alien species!)

Muse B is an Earthbound human who is discovered by an expedition for new species to add to the collection and is brought to the facility for treatment and assessment. He has a number of injuries following a fall and is named Todd by the veterinary team.

Option 1) Muse B is gifted the rare 'creature' as a pet to look after at home.

Option 2) Muse A looks after and rehabilitates Todd within a zoo setting.
