Image/Description:

A very, very lanky person, she stands at six feet 10 inches, which is two hundred and eight centimeters. Thanks to the muscles, she has more of a masculine figure than anything, and if it weren't for the hair and defined facial structure, she'd be easily mistaken for a male. Her skin is practically pale enough to be see-through, her hair is such an icy blonde that it's as if it's covered with frost, and her eyes are so vivid that they often remind others of crystal blue glaciers. Because she has tapetum lucidum (see powers), her pupils glow when shined with light. Since eyeshine is a type of iridescence, the color varies with every angle. Mainly, her eyes will appear to have a greenish-blue eyeshine.

To keep her powers at bay, she'll often wear black gloves. Her clothing consists of monochrome clothing. She wears tight-fitting ebony pants, which are accompanied by white boots that have detachable blades for skating. A similar colored tunic reaches a few inches below her waist, and it has sleeves that travel to the first joint on her fingers. However, one sleeve is empathized with a see-through ombre color, going from black to gray to her skin tone. It's typical to see her long hair up in a ponytail, her bangs flying out to her jawline. Everywhere she goes, she carries around an old Scandinavian bow, rune markings cut into its belly.

Underneath her clothing, her skin isn't as clean as it seems. Nine*** permanent scars cover her back, all appearing older than some due to the nine months within which they were received. Although they look similar to claw marks, they're a result of one of her village's "ceremonies" involving whips. The third-degree burn she had gotten when she was nine never healed, so she hides it behind her sleeve. On the inside of her right forearm, the wound's presentation is similar to that of a chemical burn. However, the tissue and muscle that's clearly displayed are ebony in color, looking like severely frostbitten skin. Instead of carrying a yellowish tint, the showing bone is a white hue.

As a god, however, she's a lot more fearsome. Standing at thirteen feet tall, her body towers over others. Her skin is an azure color, but a darker blue paint decorates her body. However, the color of her hair and eyes stay the same. Donned with golden shoulder plates and a clothing lined with fur, her godly form is constantly prepared for battle. Instead of a bow, she has a rusty sticklestad sword at her hip. She isn't very skilled with it, and because it's corroded, it doesn't have any sharpness to it. Yet, it was made for someone her size, so she just uses it to crush her enemies.

God Details

As the Norse goddess of winter, she's the embodiment of strength, courage, and endurance. She's venerated as a goddess of the hunt; however, she has a reputation for being a bringer of death caused by (you guessed it!) the cold. She was the daughter of Thjazi, a frost giant who had kidnapped the Goddess Idun and her apples of immortality. Apparently, the fruit didn't work the way he had wanted, and when he tried to attack Asgard, he was murdered in a surprising way. Thjazi was depicted as a shapeshifter, one who usually assumed the form of a giant ass bird, so the gods set fire to the towers and walls to literally watch him crash and burn. Seeking revenge, the giantess armed herself and sallied out to Asgard. Instead of agreeing to the battle, the gods demurred, offering her reconciliation and atonement for her loss.

They had promised Skadi her choice of husbands from among the Aesir, although with a condition, and they had offered to make her laugh since it was believed that she would never laugh again after her father's death. Fulfilling the first condition, the assembled suitors stated that she could select a husband from among their group by their looking at their feet and their feet only. Assuming they belonged to the fair and beautiful Balder that every goddess loved, the giantess selected the most graceful pair of feet. Instead, they belonged to an older god known as Njord, who agreed to be her husband. To provoke a response from Skadi, Loki performed a masochistically vulgar act, which I honestly wish I was making up. Loki had tied one end of a cord around the beard of a goat and the other around a body part of his. After goading the goat to run, "each gave way in turn, and each of the two screeched loudly; then, Loki let himself fall onto Skadi's knee [perhaps causing further damage to his private parts], and she laughed." The Aesir fulfilled their requirements, and due to the disappointing marriage, they added another thing to their list. It's said that Odin took Thjazi's eyes and cast them up into the heavens to make them two separate stars, ensuring that part of him would live forever.

Of course, the marriage did not end up well. Skadi had wished to live in her father's hall, Thrymheim, and Njord wanted to live in Noatun, his seaside hall. They tried to compromise by switching between halls every nine days, but it became tiresome and they got a divorce. Because of her marriage to the sea god, she technically became the stepmother of Freyr and Freyja. Later, however, she married Odin, and bore him many sons. Most of their kin would allegedly go on to begin a Scandinavian royal dynasty.

Personality

Due to her upbringing, Niklaus became aloof towards others, unmoved by and uninterested in what they do or think. She chose to keep to herself. The gravity of the situation is that she cannot express her own emotions, or at least not in the way she wants to. Klaus is perpetually sullen and undeniably short-tempered, her laughter being less common than a four leaf clover. Smiling has become a foreign action to her, so often, her forced grin ends up scaring those around her; when she does naturally smile, it's captivating, like seeing the rarest sight before your own two eyes. However, she's actually much more sensitive and childish than she appears to be. Wandering the earth, Niklaus is a recluse, keeping contact with others to an absolute minimum. She's always maintained her strong sense of pride. If someone's problems are beyond their expertise and she believes it to be a challenge, the giantess will willingly help, but she'll ignore their requests if facing any insignificant issues.

After living in solitude for years on end, she can no longer deal or relate with other people. Simply, the giantess doesn't know how to control her frustration and hence expresses her thoughts and emotions in an inappropriate way.  She's straightforward, letting every word slip through her mouth without a filter. The female's also incredibly dense, however, letting anything slip past her. Despite her inability to properly socialize, she sincerely wishes to accomplish her goal of becoming powerful enough to have a worldwide impact and is passionate about her hobbies, to the point where she gets overly excited just thinking about them.

Whenever she meets new people, she makes an evaluation of their abilities. Those she perceives to be weaker than herself are arrogantly disregarded, never sparing them a glance so they won't hold her back. The giantess fixates over and tries to surpass those she perceives as stronger, especially when she believes she should be their equal. Truthfully, she doesn't want anything more than to be the most dominant being on the planet; meeting someone she deems stronger than her is like world telling her that she still has a reason to live- which, in turn, excites her greatly. In matches that entertain her, she practically becomes a different person, giggling like a giddy school girl. She's determined to do her best, and in whatever way possible, she will accomplish her goals.

Backstory

(here's a small bit!)

On an early December morning, a family with far too many children already were continuing to populate their village. Most of the townspeople believed that it would be their descendants who would control their minuscule settlement in the future; frankly, that's how bad it seemed to be. Yet, due to the sweetness of the woman birthing the baby, most of them stayed outside of the cabin, risking hypothermia and possibly frostbite to see a crying, screaming infant. It didn't take long, however, for a midwife to invite the villagers inside group by group. Each presented gifts to the family, something that was of tradition in their area. One crowd, who didn't bother doing anything for the parents, decided that they would gift the baby with a name with a special meaning. Niklaus, they offered.. Having been told that it meant victory of the people, the mother accepted without hesitation, giving her child a boyish name out of genuine love.

The mother's sons, ages ranging from six to twenty, worked with their father while she was left alone with the infant. This went on for weeks, and it was only when she had finally begun noticing the baby's odd behavior that she raised a few eyebrows. Blankets were pushed off constantly, its fevers were apparent, and its skin had a deadly tint to it. Every time she touched the child's hands, she became a shivering, tired mess with the inability to think properly. Afraid for both her own and her daughter's life, she ran to the medic's hut with the baby in her arms, only to be caught in a winter snowstorm. My family's surely inside, the mother thought to herself, Niklaus must be saved. She made a move to turn back to her home, but she ended up tripping over her own feet. Now unable to feel her legs, the mother was left helpless in the snow.

After five hours had passed, the snowstorm was no more, and the family that had taken cover in their own cabin rushed to locate the missing members of their family. Searching for hours led them to find their dead, frost-covered mother and a giggling newborn. Both were rushed to where they were headed before, the medic's hut. Unable to figure out why the weakest of the two had survived, the doctor was beyond perplexed and insisted that the infant stayed with him until he had found out what factor allowed its survival. Days passed, and the doctor had nothing. He was completely enraged, as this case was tearing his brain apart. Like he had been doing for the last few hours, the man held the baby over the fire, hearing its screams and cries. Then, it clicked, or at least that's what his thoughts had told him. Your baby is cursed, he insisted, It had to be one of the gifts. You believe me, don't you? Unqualified to ignore the doctor's words, the father reluctantly agreed. Together, the family and the doctor burned all the gifts given to them. No one could know that they were doing this; it was a scandal. Yet, there was one gift left. The name.

They renamed her, but because he was the one who "cleansed" her of the believed curse, the doctor had the opportunity to do so. Vagr, meaning outlaw and wolf, was somehow acceptable to the father. The curse was why my wife is dead. My baby's why my wife is dead, he had told himself. Neither of them bothered trying their test again, so neither of them had the chance to see that they had failed completely. The doctor continued to visit, drinking alcohol with the father when he was supposed to be checking on the child. When he did finally give his attention to Vagr, he would feel so tired, so shaky.. After weeks of this sensation, he dropped on the floor.

The father was scared.. Scared because his wife was dead, scared because he had to take care of nine children by himself, scared because he had just lost a dear friend, scared because he couldn't lose another loved one. He ran over to the dead body on the floor, trying desperately to revive the spirit that once lived inside, but harsh giggling caught his attention; he glanced up to see the baby brandishing its pearly white teeth. The father was scared because of his own child.

Without telling the other children, he grabbed Vagr, rushing to the villagers that had named his baby. If they had cursed her, they were going to deal with her. His fist pounded at their door, and after ordering them to take the baby, they didn't hesitate. Instead, Vagr was given knitted gloves to fit her hands. Seven years had passed, and the baby had grown into a much taller child. Her name was returned to its original form, and the love that she would've never been given in her old home was offered to her with the new family. Within seconds of tears spilling down her face from being next to an open flame, she was banned from stepping near fire; the reactions they had were far different from that of the father's.

It was a small household, including a couple who couldn't procreate. Niklaus was their own bundle of joy, their own child. Yet, they were still in the same village. The father was still living in the same cabin, and the family that she didn't know was hers was still with him. The townspeople, including her ex-family, stared at her wherever she'd go, making an outcast among them; they whispered behind her back, spreading gossip about the apparent witchery in her adoptive family. After a full twelve months, it became violent. A fourteen-year-old boy- her own flesh and blood- had gathered around her with his friends, poking at her with sticks, calling her Vagr. Little did she know, they had planned this, and flames were in the picture.

Niklaus was being pushed further back by the group, her gloved hands raised up in submission. She was nine, not yet a fighter. Afraid of what they would do to her, she focused on their bodies instead of her surroundings, not noticing the change in environments. The area was dry and hot, making Klaus' stomach turn and head ache. Hearing the crackling behind her, it was as if she was rejuvenated, and she began to try to cut through the group of teenage boys. They easily knocked her down to the ground, the flames almost licking at her skin. She hated being this weak, this powerless.

Looking into the eyes of the leader, a sudden, soul-shattering chill ran through her body. She saw evil in his eyes. His words ringed inside her tiny head, becoming a phrase that would drive her to the brink of madness, You are going to burn in Helheim, so we will prepare you for that. The leader grabbed her right arm, dragging her closer to the fire, and within a single second, he raised her limb to the inferno.

Powers

Chill Out:

Her ideal weather isn't the same as others, so staying next to her for too long can bring unwanted side effects. Touching her hand or even letting the limb come near you, however, is the biggest mistake one could ever make. Klaus' gelid fingers can give off immediate hypothermia, even if it wasn't her intention to do so. This can lead to frostbite and gangrene without treatment. Now, if she does intend to hurt the being, deep frostbite appears straight away, and if exposure continues, the being's entire body will be covered by frostbite, which means death. The joints and muscles may no longer work, and the skin will turn black and hard as the tissue dies. Gangrene, the decay of these tissues, will force amputation on the being. By wearing gloves, this entire situation can be avoided.

Forecast? Cold as Hell:

To keep her body at its desired temperature- which is very, very cold-, she has a constant wind chill of thirty-two degrees celsius within a five-foot radius of her while she's awake. That's the freezing point of water, which explains why people don't usually get close to her (besides everything else, ya know).. Her body has a natural immunity to the cold, but to the heat, she's extremely susceptible. Sleeping in temperatures above twenty-one degrees celsius can and will damage her body. Even with her little bubble of biting wind, being in hot weather will weaken her. This does mean that she has to eat raw meat (unless someone wants to be her chef, wink wink) because she cannot go near flames or heat without getting hurt. If caught on fire, the flame never moves away from the base of the skin that was caught and doesn't go out until it bites at the bone. The wound's appearance is similar to that of chemical burn, except the tissue appears to be black in color instead of read and the bone is a pearly-white hue.

Winter is Coming:

Niklaus is a goddess of winter, so it's only natural that she has an ability with the weather she adores. With the help of other gods, her powers can easily intensify. For example, a god of thunder can help her create what's known as a thundersnow, in which a mass of cold air on top of warm air plus moist air closer to the ground is required. The sun will heat the ground and push masses of warm, moist air upwards, creating unstable air columns; as it rises, the moisture condenses to form clouds, which are jostled by internal turbulence. The two gods combined would create an atmospheric instability, causing the air later closer to the ground to be warmer than the layers above but still cold enough to create snow. With the same god, she can create gigantic hail, which is formed when strong thunderstorm updrafts meet supercooled water droplets. By herself, she can create sleet, which is like rain drops that harden into ice pellets before reaching the ground. Unlike typical sleet, it will stick to objects and accumulate until it can become a hazard for those running or using vehicles. In areas of warm, moist air, she can force cold, dry air to meet it at a front; winter storms will be created and derive their energy from the clash of the two air masses. With cold air at the surface, moisture, lift, and warm air rising over cold air, she'll create a blizzard, which is a long-lasting snowstorm with strong winds and intense snowfall. She can also form thick fog, which will lift to become a thick, low cloud creating what's called anticyclonic gloom. Freezing rain, which is rain that falls onto a surface with a temperature below freezing, is also in her book of things creatable; it will freeze the surface, forming a glaze of ice. If wanted, they'll strike like spears being dropped from the heavens. Her favorite thing to create, however, are frost quakes. They're non-tectonic seismic events also known as cryoseisms. They're caused by a sudden rapid freezing of ground and bedrock, usually when temperatures go from above freezing to below zero. As moisture absorbed in the rock and soil freezes, it expands and puts a great amount of stress on the areas around it. When the stress becomes too much, the soil and rock will crack in an explosive manner, creating a loud sound and shaking the ground surface.

Night Vision:

Unlike humans, her eyes don't lack a tapetum lucidum, a layer of tissue in the eye of many vertebrates. It lies behind the retina, reflecting visible light back through the retina to increase the light available to the photoreceptors through blurring the initial image of the light on focus. This allows her to be nocturnal if needed, hunting her prey at night, but it also gives her the ability to see without a flame to guide her. One visible effect of having a tapetum lucidum is eyeshine. When light shines into her eyes, her pupils begin to glow. Since eyeshine is a type of iridescence, the color varies with the angle at which it is seen and the minerals which make up the reflective tapetum-lucidum crystals. Mainly, her eyes will appear to have a greenish-blue eyeshine. Her eyes are similar to a wolf's in more ways than one, however. She only has two color receptors, so the range of hues she can discriminate is much reduced compared to others. The giantess lacks a fovea, something that allows humans to see great detail in color during daylight, so instead, she has a broad central area with a very high density of cells called rods that are sensitive to low light levels and not colors; there's also a very high density of cones compared to the periphery. Therefore, she can distinguish many more shades of gray and see better in the dark. Klaus has relatively sharp vision across her visual horizon without having to shift her gaze, and her ability to sense motion has shown that she can detect movement with both rods and cones considerably better than humans, especially in good light conditions. In other words, she's able to react to certain situations quicker than others because she can "see the world faster than humans do."

Skills

- Artic wildlife typically agrees with her, so she finds it easy to tame the creatures. This helps with wolf dog sledding.

- Her marksmanship with that bow of hers is impressive, to say the least.

- She's been living in the wilderness by herself for some time know, so she knows a few survival techniques.

- Intimidation. It's more of an unwanted talent.

- Her determination could be considered a skill (?)

Hobbies

- Searching for her next brawl, she's always analyzing the people around her.

- Although she only does it for food, she finds hunting enjoyable.

- Climbing to the top of a mountain is beyond exhilarating.

- Totally just dog sledding.. yep, no wolves involved here. (wink wink**)

- She becomes a different person when she skates on ice. (fun fact: Scandinavians invented ice-skating around 3000 B.C.)

Pet Peeves

- Weak-willed beings get on her nerves. Don't they see how helpless they look?

- Crying. It shows weakness.

- Having been in solitude for years, sudden loud voices make her jump.

- Liars.. Is she not strong enough to be told the truth?

- No one knows what could unfold from a simple prank.. It's too dangerous.

Quotes

- "The last ones standing are the victors, only the strongest. If you want to be the last one standing, become strong."

- "Life is all about challenges. There's no point in living if there's no one strong to fight."

- "You're a lot shorter up close."

My bad! I didn't force you to scrap anything, did I? (ó﹏ò。)

Nope i originally had a character with Circe inspiration, but I couldn't pin down any satisfactory powers to capture her essence without just putting "sorcery and transmogrification"

Ah, okay good! I getcha, though.. I was originally gonna base my character off of a god from Slavic mythology, but the personality I had in mind didn't fit most 'em. If it wasn't for the backstory, mine would hardly fit Skadi. I think that Garren's abilities/backstory are well thought out, though, so kudos!

You gone make me blush. it took me about 2and a half hours to do the majority of the stuff another to fine tune it, and about 30 extra minutes to find the pic I wanted.

are you a god yourself? jfc.. Σ(゜゜)

It takes me forever to finish a character sheet.. probably because I get distracted and am really indecisive  but  nobody needs to know that

I had to spend at least 6 hours on Klaus ;;-;;

I'm actually pretty indecisive myself, but generally i just let the character come to me. Like with this one, i've actually been working on it for 4 hours but didn't make any headway til I decided to just use Janus then building from there was easy. I also stole the part in the spoiler box from the game Smite, but everything else nlis mine.

Having said that, there are also CS's that take me days to finish. Sometimes I'll start one but not be in the proper groove to finish it and i'll have to put it on the back burner for a while till I xan get things to stick.

I usually just have the personality thought out, and I work from there. I'll usually procrastinate as soon as I get have close to no idea where to go with a sheet, but because I get to reading and watching biz, I'll find characters that I want mine to be vaguely similar to. Like, the two pairings I wanted her to be like were Sasuke Uchiha & Kageyama Tobio (the distant, asshole-ish characters) and Naruto Uzumaki & Hinata Shouyou (for their determination and passion). Everything else will just kinda come to me on the spot.

Honestly, I didn't even know Smite existed until I was looking up pics for Skadi's actual/god form
