J.D. White
"Oh wow," JD muttered as he watched him summon his Familiar. It was a Panther, or was it called a COugar? She didn't know, but it did feel slightly... familiar. It felt like, well, him. So this is what having a Familiar was like huh? "So sort of, give it a command, and then give it a name huh?" She looked at her hand and put it out, pointing it towards the wall. Taking her thoughts back to his earlier words, she felt a need to make it important. She needed to make it have meaning, to make it have feeling. It needs to mean something, something important. She stopped her attempt to call her Familiar and reached for her chest, where her Crucifix was held. She removed her necklace and held it in her hand, she then put her hand out towards the desk in front of them. She took a deep breath and scoured her mind, but it was almost obvious for her. She already knew what she was going to name him, paying homage to the man who changed her life, the only family she ever really knew. "Roar... Romero." There was a flash of purple light, and from the ceiling, a pair of red eyes glowed. It jumped down and landed on the table, there he was... A wolf covering in black fur, his eyes blazing violet.

Warner was leading the horse back into its stall and started to taking off the saddle to put it up. "Nonsense, there's always time for a sweet tea! Ill get you a to go cup since you we gotta git some giddy up." Once he got it off he put it up he said a last good bye to the horse and turned around to see that the woman was gone. "Well damn she was in a real hurry must of hustled herself back over there, figures them city fold wouldn't want to spend too long in a barn." He talked to himself as he walked back toward the house and past her giving her a smile before walking inside and filling up two mason jars with some sweet tea and wrapping up a slice of apple pie his mom made for the lady. After that he slung a huge bag over his back that was just about as long as he was tall and walked out. "See ain't take that long, I got you these anyways pa always taught me to show visitors some southern hospitality." Warner handed her a mason jar with sweet tea and the slice of pie with a smile on his face then looked around with a bit of confusion, "Now how we gettin outta here? You got a one of them fancy butlers to come pick you up?"

Misaki got the piece of chalk between her eyes and her right eyebrow twitched in annoyance but she picked up the chalk and, carefully, tried to sketch the seal that the Professor drew. It didn't seem quite right, but it seemed to be a good first try. But hearing the Professor the first time, she must except the best and perfect from people. Well, might as well restart until she got it right. Or until the teacher said to stop. Blathnaid stood in front of her and shook her head.
"Not a good idea to do that. She may get angry that your seal was erased hapzardously and redrawn until you get it right. Knowing she has an eye for things, don't try to take a picture. She could take the phone away and discard it after class if you tried to get it back. You'd have to commit this to memory or at least part of it to memory."
'Right. It only took me, a good 25 minutes or more. Those drawing lessons did come in handy for this.'

She said and Blathnaid nodded, rubbing her head against her right left before looking at who asked for a ruler. Really?

The more she stood there waiting, the more irritated she became, although she didn't let it read on her features. She looked at her watch a time or two as he was putting the beast away and then after he had disappeared inside the house. She made fine tune adjustments to the watch, changing the rotating little hands to suit her liking and rotate as she saw fit. After she was finished, she took a step into the shade, a brief reprieve from the scorching sun. She then closed her eyes and listened for his approach, noting as he retrieved his belongings and filled something in the kitchen, probably the tea he was speaking of. As soon as she heard his footsteps, she focused her mind for a moment before opening her eyes. The portal was already in place as the boy came into view and she shifted off the steps to give him first access. Keeping her arms crossed, she found herself back in the sun, nodding in the direction of the portal. When he offered her the drink and food, she declined with a shake of her head.

"As I said, we are in a hurry and I do not have time for such things. I also do not require any more sustenance for the day. Now, if you would. We will be taking the portal, of course. As said in the letter you received from the Headmaster." She stood next to the portal and nodded at it again. "Please, after you."

Warner stood with his mouth agape when he finally saw the portal, not exactly the most perceptive person in the world, and walked towards it with a sense of curiosity. He whistled and said, "Y'all city people sure can do a whole lot with technology nowadays huh." He looked back at her then at the portal then back at her, "You think I'm gonna go in there first?" Warner said with a questioning tone and then returned his attention to the portal,"Because you'd be right!" He kept the pie and tea in his hands that she denied which only made him slightly distraught and stuck one leg in the thing making sure he didn't blow up. He argued with himself for a moment about how odd this all seemed and that it could just be a prank and some optical illusion but finally just decided to take a leap of faith and walked through the portal.

Ellie breathed a sigh of relief as he finally stepped through the portal. She quickly followed behind him, sidestepping him on the other sided of the portal and quickly closing it behind her. It wouldn't do for him to get caught while she was closing it or have second thoughts. If he hadn't been able to summon the portal to get here, she doubted he would be able to conjure one to get back. The first thing she did upon entering the school again, was drop the glamor. Her hair turned back to its stark white color and the scars and cuts reappeared on her arms. She took a step forward and looked around the hallway, noting their location before moving in front of them once more. "Now, there is much to do, but the first thing is to take your things to your new dorm. Which is that way." She lifted a hand and pointed down the hallway to their left. "If you have any questions, you may ask them while we walk, but we must be on our way." With that, she turned and walked, only briefly looking back to see if he would follow her or not.

arner could feel his heart racing as he looked around at the sudden change of scenery, temperature, and even smell. He then looked for the lady that had brought him here but she was gone instead there was this bad ass of a woman with white hair and scars covering her arms, "Where the hell am I, who the hell are you, why the hell am I?" He looked at the sweet tea to see if it looked like anything had been put inside of it when the white haired woman pointed down a hallway. He followed her down the hallway looking at everything from the walls and carpet to the doors and drapes. "Are we...at the school? Are you the welcoming committee?"

Roxie came into class late and didn't seem to care that she did. When she walked in she saw a bald woman drawing some kind of symbol. "That's the white arts professor? I think Alice and her need to switch." Roxie mumbled to herself as walked further in the class and took her seat next to Hector.

Atsuko was already in class and she watched as Bithiah drew the magic circle. Were they suppose to copy her and draw one to? She looked around at the other students to see what they were doing.

Today seriously had been one busy day. Alice never thought so much could happen in one day. She also never imagined she would have to teach a dark arts class. "Thank goodness we have a teacher," Alice mumbled to herself as she headed to Magnus office. Once she made it she walked in a noticed two others. Andrew and Jocelyn was sitting at the Table with Magnus and there was a wolf on top of the table. Must of been the girl's familiar. "Oh, sorry hope I'm not interrupting," Alice said as she walked in and closed the door behind her.

As soon as it was confirmed that he was following her, she quickly led him to the dorms, glancing down at his file only briefly to confirm which room he was in. She was slightly baffled by his questions, though she suspected it was natural not to understand a sudden shift in perception like this. Magic was a strange thing and to be introduced to it so suddenly would come as a shock. "You are at the school, of course. And I am still the same person from before. It would not to to scare you away before getting you here. That would have been quite unacceptable." She paused in her speaking for a moment, closing her eyes as she watched. She called Tikki to her and she almost immediately appeared. Tikki was still in Magnus's office, curled up in a nice corner, paying silent attention as more and more people entered the office. Tikki stood up, arching her body before disappearing with a distinct pop, leaving behind the smell of warm sunlight, fresh grass, and sweet berries. Tikki then reappeared in front of Ellie in a second, the same popping noises and the same smells following.

"This is Tikki, she is my familiar." Tikki made a soft noise and pranced up to Ellie, rubbing against her leg as they walked on. "Do not be frightened, you will discover what your familiar is with time. As for your question, as I said, you are at the school. No, I am not the welcoming committee. I was simply sent to retrieve you, as you did not show up yesterday of your own accord as you should have."

"Scare me away? Why would you do that? I mean your hair might be a bit of an odd colour but I think you look pretty bad ass." Warner said to trying to be complimentary as he noticed that she had closed he eyes while walking and shortly after this little deer rodent thing appeared in front of her. He noticed the calming scent in the air when the familiar appeared but was still confused as to where it came from. "You're telling me that I'm gonna get one of those little things too? I don't even know what it is or what its suppose to be...is it one of them story book creatures?" Warner had always liked animals but he wasn't familiar with most animals outside of a farm or from his experience hunting. He could recall going to the zoo every now and then as a kid but this thing didn't look like any of those. "Life happens every now and then but can't let that hold ya back right." He continued to follow her to where ever his room was and was anxious about his living conditions.

Morkari managed to at least not fall on his butt, he caught himself by using his hands and feet. Though he did end up in the crab walk position... "Well, that was interesting." He says this while standing up. He glances over at Anna, who has her familiar helping her already, so, leaving Zuzu to help her, he searches his bag to see if there was chalk in there. He finally pulls some out after a few seconds of rummaging. "Well, might as well try. Hopefully I can draw the lines correctly..." He begins to copy the magic circle as close as he can. It ends up being accurate, but far from how good the teachers was. He sighs inwardly after he finishes "Well lets hope we don't die our first day of class, eh Ratel?" The Honey badger just yawns and ignores him. "Heh, You're no fun." He stands up and waits for the next part.

Bithiah the Bad
While Bithiah was busy talking to her familiar she heard another little brat say something, it looked like that annoying little whelp who happened to summon a whale for a familiar. "Oh yes, Yuna wasn't it? You said you need a ruler? I would think that such a STAR Pupil like yourself would have the ability to draw a SIMPLE Circle without any additional tools right? Nevertheless, if you desire further equipment feel free to get one from the supply closet, that goes for ALL OF YOU." She motioned behind her where a newly created hallway filled to the brim with booby traps and dangerous flora and fauna led to a locked supply closet. "If you need anything else, and you haven't brought it with you, it can be found in the closet, I'll leave the key right here." She set the key next to the chalk.

"People have varying degrees of reactions to not only the school, but to magic as a whole. Some students take a bit more... nudging to get where they need to be. But, we accommodate to everyone's needs and make sure they understand what they need to." At the mention of her familiar, she stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him, a stern expression on her face. "That little thing has a name. And not an it, but a she. Familiars are to be treated with the same amount of respect as the people here and you would do well to remember that." She turned once again and continued in the direction of his room. Tikki, seemingly unaffected by the whole ordeal, continued her prancing pace next to Ellie. While she on the other hand, had reverted back to the blank expression. "Your familiar will not look like her, no. It is very rare for people to have the same kind of familiar. Tikki here, is what is called a Dik-Dik. She's similar to a deer, only smaller and comes specifically from Africa."

It was soon enough that she reached a sudden halt, a common looking door at her right. She took another couple steps forward and turned, standing just on the other side of the door. "This is your room. You will find your key inside. There is indeed much to see in the room, but as I've said before, there is much to do today, so if you would put your things inside so we can go see the Headmaster. He will want to meet you before you go to class. If we are lucky, you'll still be able to catch some of the current class going on right now." With that, she knocked sharply on the door and when there was no response, she opened it for him and bowed him inside, but remained outside the door as he put his stuff down.

Hector had been part of the unlucky ones in the class to have fallen flat on his back when Bithiah removed them from the classroom. Good thing for him the fall hadn't been so bad so he just stood up and dusted himself off. And taking note that asking questions or doing anything other than the intended task was a bad idea he went over to grab some chalk and went to work. Getting back to where he had been before he found Roxie who he hadn't seen since class. "Seems they made a mistake with who is teaching what," he said to Roxie. "Guess we just gotta copy that and don't fuck it up. I guess." Leaning down he started slowly try to not mess up. He was starting to regret not taking that art class when he had the chance.

Magnus and Andrew stood there watching JD as she tried again to summon her familiar. Magnus was intrigued by the method which it appeared while Andrew was just glad that wasn't a massive explosion that took out the room. Once they saw that it was a wolf Alice had walked through the door. "No that's fine we were just wrapping up here as it seems we have another wolf this year," said Magnus before turning back to the girl. "Good job Jocelyn this is the start of your long journey as a mage. And since you were able to handle summoning your familiar Andrew here can go and escort you to class.... On second thought you can wait until the next class since you aren't wearing your uniform." Magnus wsn't have a bunch of people asking him why he let someone to class not in uniform. "You can go over the mage light spell since so far that is all your class is able to do right now."

"Yes sir we'll get on that right now," said Andrew. "I'll get her up to speed so she's ready for the next class." Nodding his head he headed for the door waving for JD to follow behind.

The woman seemed to have gotten slightly frustrated with his comment of the creature being a little thing and made sure he knew that it was a she and had a name. She treated the dik dik like one of those dog owners who would freak out if you said 'what a good boy' to a female dog. "Well of course ma'am, whatever you say. I'll do my best to treat them like they are people." Warner felt a little relieved when she said his wouldn't look like that but he did his best to not let it show on his face because he didn't want offend the sensitive woman any more than he apparently had. When they arrived at his room and she opened the door for him he took a brief look around the room and was shocked to see how large it was but then just dropped his giant bag against the wall of the short entry way. Then he picked up the key for his room and placed it in his wallet for now. He then returned to the woman and closed the door behind him still holding on to the slice of pie and one of the mason jars. "Alright lets go see the Head Master now right?"

The boy took a surprisingly short time when he entered the room and she was thankful for that. Without a word, she stood back up straight and continued walking down the hall. "That is correct. He will have some things to go over, so it's best if we hurry. So far, you have missed two classes: Introduction to Magic and The Dark Arts. Some time today you will need to stop by the respective classrooms or find the Professors or a student to get class information and any homework you'll need." She stayed silent for a few minutes, letting him digest what she had told him. She briefly looked behind her, making sure he was still there when she noticed the food. "I would recommend eating that now, as when we get to the Headmaster's office, we will be quite busy." At that point, she had nothing else to say to him and remained quiet during the rest of their walk. Already she was mentally preparing for whatever task she had next. Being the first day of school, she was prepared for there to be a lot of work. Not to mention, she still had to give a full report to Magnus about her adventure and the book.

Quickly enough, she was at Magnus's office and knocking on his already open door. There were quite a few people in the room, most of which she had not met yet. Without a second thought, she knocked on the door, doing a half bow at Magnus. "I've retrieved the student, Sir. This is Warner Holton." She took a step back, allowing the new student to enter the office.

Jocelyn was silent, her body still but not frozen or paralyzed in fear. It was more... Curiosity. She cocked her head to the right, and her familiar mirrored her and did the same. She raised her right hand, and Romero raised his right paw. Jocelyn smiled and scratched the top of Romero's head. "Alright, this is officially my new favorite thing about this school." Romero stubbornly moved her hand away, he was so much like her. Stubborn and rough, naming him Romero was the right choice. JD's attention was pulled to the back once the door opened, and her familiar growled in response. She gave him a strange and confused stare, was he that angry? She hoped he didn't attack everyone who came around her, not even she was that aggressive. Her attention then went towards the headmaster, what did he mean by another wolf? Did that mean there was someone else out there with the same race of familiar as her? She wondered what kind of person they were. "Oh, uh... thanks." She said. This was crazy, she had just arrived there and she was already flung towards learning magic. But she also liked it, the faster she learned the faster she could bring her mother back to a sense of normality. She pushed herself out of her seat and began to head towards the door, with Romero following close behind her. But she stopped just before she reached it. "Ah right, do you want your earrings back?" She began to take the earrings off again, but the door flung open and she caught a glimpse of two people. The first one was a short woman with fine and smooth, yet combed, white hair. Her hair was combed over her right eye, but her left eye held a glowing piercing sea blue that made her tense up instinctively and made Romero growl as well. And then... there was the other one.

JD scanned him over, but she could tell that other than his large burly built stature, he was just a normal white guy. White skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, the whole shebang. He was the kind of guy that her old friends would jump just for the fun of it. Compton was an unforgiving place, and while she wasn't completely white, she did have white heritage, and that had gained her more than one enemy in her younger days. Most people didn't even respect her until she forced them to respect her. And that only happened because she had some Spanish in her blood. It didn't take away from the fact that white people were treated with hostility. And even opposite times, a lot of the times that she left Compton, whenever she told anyone she was from there, they gave her mixed reaction. Some were shocked, some disgusted, Romero called it the curse of the close-minded. It trapped her in a tight circle, and if it wasn't for Romero, those ideals would have stuck with her. But it'd been a while since she'd come into contact with someone like this. He even had a cowboy hat on... Jeez.

"Down boy..." She muttered towards Romero. She had no experience in dealing with... Wolves, but she had dealt with dogs before, and that seemed to calm them. And it did work for him since he calmed down then. She turned back to Magnus, and began to take the earrings off.

"Then I guess we better hurry on down there then shouldn't we?" Warner hurried up with her letting her lead him to the Headmasters office and thinking about taking these magic classes. "Well I ain't really sure about magic but in my other academics and such I've been a pretty quick study or at least a stubborn one." He looked at the pie and sweet tea in his hands once she said he should eat it quick and sighed still carrying with him to lost in his thoughts to try to even comprehend the complexity that is eating. Besides he did get either of these for himself and would have found it a waste to eat it himself. Warner returned his thoughts to the familiar again wondering how big familiars could even get because hers was awful small and in movies and stuff witches always had cats, toads or spiders and stuff.

Finally they reached the headmasters office and the woman introduced him then did a little bow thing and he took a step into the room, "Am I suppose to do the bow thing to or how does this introduction continue?" He said in his deep southern accent in a hushed tone to the woman. When he walked in he noticed two people leaving one of them an older guy and the other...oof...the other. A girl with light colored hair and soft blue grey eyes. She had piercing and soft facial features but at the same time she looked toned. 'What a sweet looking girl,' he thought to himself, 'She don't look like she'd hurt a fly.' When he was experiencing what some city folk might call a 'look back at it' moment he noticed a wolf walking with the girl. It had a beautiful black pelt nothing like any of the coyotes he'd seen. Warner returned his attention to the headmaster and held out the slice of pie and sweet tea, "Now you don't have to eat this now or nothing be me and my ma made this together." He said kindly offering it to the headmaster not really knowing if this would come off as offensive or not but by this point he had already dedicated so he simply hoped for the best.

Magnus just shook his head when he saw Jocelyn' familiar growl like he was going to attack someone. He was even surprised that she thought she had to give back the earrings when they were hers to keep. It was good though that at the same time that they were leaving that Ellie had returned with the new student. "No that's fine they are supposed to be yours anyway. Besides I'm not really the earring wearing type myself." Not anymore that is..... He just waved them good-bye so he could deal with his new visitors. With Ellie she brought a young man with her who looked like he stepped off a farm, literally. "Good job, it's good to see that you have done well with this little assignment. And as for you....." Magnus stopped as he was offered a piece of pie and a jar of sweet tea. It was taking all his willpower to not forget everything he was doing and down both of them on the spot. He just kindly accepted them both and sat them next to himself. "Thank you I'm sure that it must taste delicious but we have important matters to get to. Both of you please sit down so we can get started and I would just like to know if there is anything you would like to know right now. We won't be long here but I do have some time to answer questions that answer anything about the academy you are interested in."

Ellie stayed outside the room until the others had exited, making sure no one got caught up in the doorway. She bowed to them as well, though stayed silent. When the room was empty save for Magnus, Warner, and another lady she hadn't met. She immediately took the farthest seat, letting Warner take the one closest to him. She crossed her legs and sat silently, taking a moment to glance down at her watch. She was doing it quite often lately, which was probably not a good thing. She was so used to living by her own schedule, being on such a strict schedule was a very different routine for her.

"Yes, Sir. I've shown him to his dorms and explained the basics about Familiars and the basics of the class schedule, as well as giving him information for the classes he's missed. But, I'm afraid there was no time to go into too much detail." With that, she fell silent once again. She knew that she was no longer needed for this part of the conversation. Warner would ask any questions he had and Headmaster Magnus would be able to answer them.

Warner took a seat closest to the headmaster and responded with a bigger smile when he accepted the slice of pie and the sweet tea. "My pleasure sir I hope you enjoy." He mulled over some questions in his head for the headmaster but everything was just moving so quickly he wasn't sure where to start. "Alright so questions...why me? Am I particularly gifted some how in this magic stuff? Was my family magic? How do you do the big room in a tiny space thing? How big can a familiar be and do I have to worry about feeding or cleaning up after them? How big is this place?" He blurted out pretty rapid fire before restraining himself from more questions and looked right at the headmaster await sweet answers that would make gorgeous sense in the nonsense of the past couple hours. Portals, appearing animals, big rooms in little spaces, and changing appearances...was anything real here.

Magnus just nodded his head as he heard what Ellie had already informed Warner about. That was basic but important information that every student would need. He would of been more impressed if she had helped Warner summon his familiar but that was not part of his instructions so it couldn't be helped. Oce she was done Warner started to give question after question about so many things that he had to pay close attention to not miss a single thing. "Well that's quite a list you have there for just getting here. I guess we can start with why as that is something everyone always ask. The short answer without getting into the whole history of mages is that it is in your blood. Thousands of years ago one of your ancestors was granted magical abilities when they bathed in the blood of a dragon. This is the same for everyone else here with you so you aren't the only one. And to answer what you might ask next, no not everyone in your family inherited this power. Over time we found out for some reason the child of a mage is not always guaranteed to have magic in them. As for the rooms being bigger inside than out, that is just the use of spatial magic. The size of a familiar is limited to the size of the animal they take form as so in some cases they can be a mouse or even a whale. No familiars do not eat food as they are sustained by the magic that is inside you and as such don't require cleaning after. And as for the size of the academy that is a bit difficult to answer because it can be changed at anytime. It's better to just avoid worrying about how big this place is all together in my opinion."

Warner sat attentively and listening closely to the headmaster speak as he answered his questions and when he said one of his relatives had bathed in dragons blood all he could think was how bad ass that sounded. When the headmaster talked about spacial magic being the reason for how the rooms were the way they were he kind of bypassed over thinking that because the concept of spacial magic itself was still blurry. "So where do I find my familiar? Do I have to go on some spiritual journey out in the woods or...smoke a bit of something because I ain't never done drugs like that before." He was interested to find what his familiar was and hoped that maybe it was something crazy like a t-rex or an orca.

JD raised an eyebrow but didn't question his decision. She wasn't much of a jewlery woman herself, but the earrings did look beautiful. Purple and shining with strange stones, they even matched the coorr of her hair. She brought the earrings back up and followed Andrew out of the office, with Romero following closely behind. Romero eyed the pair who entered before, but following JD's command, he didn't attack. JD had deduced that the blonde haired white guy was most likely another student, and the girl beside him was probably his guide like Andrew was to her. She looked over to Andrew, "So now do you teach me magic?" She asked.

Quinlan63 Quinlan63

"Not at all, Magnus replied. "Such methods haven't been used in the past thousand years. There are no right or wrong ways to get it. You just have to call them forth using the connection you have with them. How you do that though is up to you. Call them by name, one you would give them of course, try drawing a symbol that you have a strong connection with. Really for this kind of magic it is more tailor made for each person. I do suggest though that you try not to summon them on anything. There have been some past cases where someone would summon something too big." As an added measure Magnus making his hand into a fist opened it slowly and his office seemed to grow in size. "Best we are prepared just in case you summon and elephant or something."

Oberon97 Oberon97

"Yes that seems to be the case," said Andrew as he was guiding JD down the halls. "We are just going to need a practice room and we can get started." Passing room after room plenty were being used by some of the older students who had more time to study on there own. Finally he found one that was spacious enough for the both of them. It didn't have anything but a chalk board a box of chalk and the same anti-damage spell used in the combat room. At least if something happened they would be hurt in anyway. "Alright come on in we need to see how much work this is gonna be for you." Once they were both inside he took off his jacket and set it on a coat rack he materialized. "First I want you to tell me what it felt like when you summoned your familiar. This important since that is the feeling you have when accessing your mana."
