Advice/Help New here, help or advice on getting started?

I've done many roleplays in the past but first time on this site and a tad bit confused on how to get started. So if anyone could give me some friendly advice it would be much appreciated! Maybe I'm just becoming an old man at 18 and have no clue how to work websites anymore but help needed! Is there like a place to post OCs and setting ideas and stuff ? Kinda struggling here!

Forum roleplaying is not that different from any other, forum is just a platform where you start different kinds of roleplays.
