Surviving in the Metro
New Heaven Apartment Homes was an early Dorcha housing project, supposed to improve the visual appeal of the poorer part of the city, as well as boost its popularity in an attempt to bring notice to the high amount of criminal activities that took place. Sadly, it managed to do neither. The first one failed almost immediately, when the building itself turned out looking bland and depressing, blending very well with the rest of the area. It also failed in bringing any sort of attention from anyone but the criminal community, who managed to take over mere weeks after it was built.
The complex housed several different small gangs for the first few years, before being permanently taken by La Sagrada Familia in a bloody, but quick, invasion. Since then, the apartment complex has become an impenetrable fortress. Fortified windows and doors kept any outsiders at bay; as well as the omnipresent snipers stationed at the roofs and other strategic points, ready to shoot anyone looking vaguely like a cop or a rival gang. It wasn't uncommon to see corpses lying on the streets, undisturbed by any in fear of angering La Familia. The interior of the building has been completely remodeled and has become a criminal's paradise. Walls and floors have been knocked down for more mobility as well as allowing more spacious rooms. Said rooms include luxuries such as a makeshift cinema, a library stacked up to the ceiling with books, a fully stocked armory, as well as several stashes of contraband. Not only does this act as La Familia's main base of operations, but also as the home of many of the members, including their leader Lucía.
