Fantasy Necromancer's Moon

What to do!?!
Sedrel decided it was best to examine the inscription. Perhaps it would contain some useful information about the tomb. Walking close to the markings, Sedrel moved his face close to the wall, looking closely at the lettering. Over the past few months, Master Shayla had taught him how to decipher this old kingdom writing. Running his fingers under the text he began to decipher it. It took a minute or two, but eventually he was able to make out the text. It read:

‘HONOR BE TO OWAIN THE BRAVE’

Owain the brave? Just who could that be? Sedrel wondered this as he examined the picture inscribed below. Time had withered it away, but it looked to be of a figure bearing a sword of some sort near a serpent of some sort. He tried his hardest to get a better look, but no matter what angle he examined it he couldn’t make it out. Just after a few more minutes, he gave up and decided to press on.

Walking down the tunnel, Sedrel wondered just how much time he spent examining that inscripting. Digging into his pocket, he pulled out his reliable pocket watch. When he sprung it open, he had made a startling discovery: Three hours had passed since he first began to walk down the tunnel. Immediately his breaths increased in a panic. In his mind he wondered just what could have happened during that time. Did Shayla see him not doing his duty? Could it be possible that Emile and Bradyn walked by him, and were no longer near the dig site?

In his panicked state, Sedrel sprinted down the hallway. His feet cluttered loudly against the floor each time he slammed a foot into the ground to pick up speed. Following the signs left by the others, he hastily made his way over to the dig site. To Sedrel it felt like he had run for an hour to get there, but in reality it was only a few minutes.

In front of him lay the dig site, with a long rope ladder leading down. It was a square room covered in dirt that had only recently been unearthed. Roughly 30 feet below him laid the bottom of the dig site. As he was catching his breath, he could make out some sort of foul odor coming from below. Just what it might be was unknown. It smelt like some sort of dead animal, but for all he knew it could have just been an unearthed vault filled with ancient corpses.

Sedrel lowered himself down the rope ladder carefully. Each step he lowered himself with shook the entire latter, making him go down at a much slower rate than he desired. Someone hadn’t taken the time to secure the bottom of the ladder After a good minute of wrestling with the unsecured ladder, his feet finally made contact with the loose dirt flooring.

The bottom of the pitt, where Sedrel now stood was dark. Far too dark to see any farther than just a few feet.

“Emile, Bradyn!” Sedrel called out into the darkness. “Where are you?”

His voice echoed down what seemed like a long and empty corridor. For a moment he stood in silence, waiting for any kind of a response. But there was nothing, only a lonely silence. An uneasy feeling wedged itself into Sedrel’s gut. If anyone was down here, surely they would have heard his voice, if not his loud panting and footsteps from before. Looking around for any source of lighting, he miraculously was able to locate a torch stashed near the latter. It only took a moment or so, but he was able to light the torch and illuminate the area around him.

In front of him was a brick wall, with a large gaping hole in the middle, emitting a foul ordor. Aside from the ladder behind him, this was the only other path down in this pit. Reluctantly, Sedrel decided to press forward into hole. Entering through the gap, his torch illuminated a new room. The stench was now more powerful than before, and the further he went into the room, it was almost becoming unbearable. Just as he was wondering what the stench could be, he unfortunately found his answer.

Lying just 5 feet in front of him were the outline of two bodies scattered across the ground. Sedrel’s heart sank. For a moment or so he froze up. His body felt stiff and cold, and his legs shook in fear. Could it be? No….it couldn’t! Nothing dangerous was in this tomb! The mages spent days ensuring this entire tomb was safe before students could enter...what could possibly do something like this?

Sure enough though, with a better look he could make out the long red hair of Emile, and the bright blonde hair of Bradyn. He wanted to scream, but that wouldn’t do any good. All that was left now was decide what his course of actions should be.

What should sedrel do?

[ ] Hide!
[ ] Loot the corpses.
[ ] Investigate the bodies.
[ ] Run and report to the master!

[X] Investigate the bodies.

[x] Run and report to the master!

Really want to loot the bodies but I'm worried about us somehow being blamed for this if we touch them, especially since we spent three hours in here

I would say investigate the bodies then report to the master.

Will post the results later tonight or tomorrow to give people time to vote. Since this is a quest, we aren't in a super big rush to constantly put out a result every few hours.
