During the time of peace after the Fourth Great Ninja War everything seemed to finally coming together. While the war was coming to an end, Kumogakure was investigating possible ways to genetically modify shinobi like Naruto Uzumaki. The reason behind them wanting to genetically modify shinobi was because they didn’t feel safe with only one person having that much power. The Raikage made sure that this information never left his village, and would genetically modify himself to fease the idea of one village under one rule.

Kumogakure started to calling this movement the Rebirth. The Rebirth was the way to the Kyūkyoku (The Ultimate). Kumogakure was able to accomplish their original goal; creating a serum to replicate the power of Naruto.

It had been two months since Ketsueki took a break from the ANBU Black-ops, he had asked for time off after facing his ex-sensei who went rogue three years ago. Her name was Arashi Senju, and she was an S-Rank Shinobi capable of sage mode and storm release, her name around the village was Storm Sage, she got to train with Naruto Uzumaki herself on a trip to Konohagakure. As he walked out of his apartment the cool brisk air hit his bare arms, sending goosebumps down his spin. “Damn it’s cold,” he mumbled, the sun was coming up from the east, and he could hear the birds chirping, today was a new day.

He was walking towards the Raikage’s office as it was meeting he was required to attend, he knew something that everyone else didn’t, and soon that secret would be coming out, and the Raikage would be the one to break it.

As he walked into the office of the Raikage, he looked up. “Ah, Ketsueki, you didn’t forget,” he said with a smile. Ketsueki sighed. “Is there a reason you needed to meet in private,” he grumbled, he wasn’t ready to return to the ANBU, but if the Raikage ordered it he would. “Are you reinstating me to ANBU?” he asked with a cruel tone.

“Why are being cruel, I gave you two months off and you want more time?” he asked as the smile faded. Ketsueki could barely show emotion because that wasn’t something he was capable of.

“You gave me time off, with a specific date specified, and today is that day, and I know that you’re reinstating me. When is my first mission?” he mumbled as he put on his arm banned with the cloud insignia.

“You’re first mission will be tomorrow, I need you to hit the training grounds, as you two genin leaving with you tomorrow.” Ketsueki sighed he hated having to work with others.

{{ The Iron Ghost of Kumogakure}}
Tekka Okami

the clouds were sparse with there patterns and open spaces, rays of light shining down as blue filled the sky above the village hidden by the clouds. Tall, thin mountains of brown providing both cover and stability as they aimed for the sky itself, while those below walked about the city in scattered form, some chatting while others continued with the day's errands and chores.

One such man was a tall figure with spiked blonde hair pulled up in a upward tail and long black coat worn overtop his attire as the tails of his coat fluttered behind him in the breeze of his motion and the day's light, cool wind. Grayish, purple eyes looking up toward the clouds in wonder and a slight feeling of remained disappointment.

The war was over and yet as the fourth lord Raikage has since retired and successor been chosen. A feeling of failure loomed over his thoughts like rain on a gorgeous day.... it felt like no consideration took place, no fair opportunity only a named fifth Raikage followed the war. Even despite the worth of Darui's power and exploits it felt difficult and required time to fully accept and move past.

Even still it would not change his loyalty nor how he felt about the village and those within it..... perhaps when you think about it this would have been how a war hero like the wicked eye himself had felt when they selected the fourth hokage in Konohagakure all those years ago? A curious comparison.

But all that aside today was a new day and he had yet to receive word on his next task. It had been just shy of a week since his last mission and it seemed only natural a task of some kind would arrive. Whether it was assisting with something in the village or seeing to another mission beyond the walls of Kumogakure and out in the great beyond elsewhere.

Also came to mind was the status of others and what may be going on with them....

A genin who specializes in cold is currently practicing a new Jutsu. He has a good grip on creating shadow clones and now he is trying for ice
"ice style: freeze"
His hands start to emanate a Light blue aura, his hands seemingly turning blue. The air around his hands start to freeze. His shining white eyes also gain a small tint of blue. He touches the small huddle he created earlier with his hands. The water freezes over almost in an instant. A smirk appears on his face.
"Now let's practices quick clone"
He does the hand symbols for a shadow clone jutsu
"Ninja art:Shadow clone jutsu"
He creates a nearly identical form of himself. He gives "himself" a quick high five before his clone vanishes.
"Now to apply some cold...."
he starts to mutter his directions to himself
"Come on Erik. You have the best chakra control for your class. This should be easy. First focus in the ice"
He thinks, quite litteraly, cold thoughts. He thinks of his home village. The village hidden in storm and snow. He apples it into the ice he just creates. He then makes a combination from the hand signs of his Freeze jutsu combined with his shadow clone. He focuses and draws form his chakra, aligning himself with his chackra points. The puddly begins to flux before a blue ice copy that looks like Frederik appears. The thing looks rigid at first, similar to crystallized form of rock. Then it smooths out into his like ness. The an imitation of it is clunky before it smooths out. It looks at Frederik in the eye
"Time to test its durability"
The clone looks concerned but it doesn't have time to react. Frederik draws his katana and slices at the ice clones arm, specifically, where the arm would connect to the shoulder. Sure enough it slices through but the clone seemingly re-attaches it.
"Awesome."
He says before doing a quick flurry of hand movements
"Fire style: flame fist"
His hands ignite in a fire p. He places his palm on the ice clone....after all he needs to know how fast it will melt. The clone seems rather fire resistant. It, of course, starts to melt and after a minute it's nothing but a puddle
He brings out a note pad. The writing seems to be observations of the clones performance. He writes his notes down, including the hand-signs he made to summon it. He closes the note pad before putting it into his pack.
"Looks like I'm ready for the road"
He picks up his sword, which he almost forgot, and put it back into its sheath.
It seemed that he was to meet a jonin somewhere. He starts to look around the village for someone expecting a genin

Calm Hawthorne
Hyuse.full.2050548.jpg

Nearby, another genin was also in the middle of his training. Calm Hawthorne, the last surviving member of the rumoured cancelling-jutsu family. His existence was kept a secret from other villages, for if they knew then it was easily possible that those who had destroyed Calm’s village once would return to finish the job. And bringing a war to the Kumogakure, who the people of had been kind enough to allow him refuge, was the absolute last thing he wanted. If anyone was going to be destroying any villages, it would be him on his quest for revenge.

It was these justly malevolent thoughts that swirled about his head that currently drove Calm to kick the tree. Some genin practised what they were bad at to make up for their weaknesses, some practised what they were good at to become powerful in at least one area. Calm fell into the latter group as he continuously trained his taijutsu day by day, performing various exercises and martial art techniques. His face reflected his namesake despite the passionate feelings that burned within, his composure even stronger than the wood-splintering strikes that threatened to topple the tree before him. Calm took a break and sat down, his breathing coming slightly more laboured than before. If he had wanted to knock the tree down, it would have been easy. The words ‘nintaijutsu: inner strength’ came to mind, a memory of himself learning to replicate the jutsu he’d once accidentally created. It was a dangerous jutsu so he didn’t often use it, his natural strength was enough for him to get by, but it was capable of killing a person in a single strike if he was lucky, or it could knock down a tree.

Calm glanced back over at the tree, then down into his opened palm. His passive expression often made him seem like a gentle soul, a common misconception, but his past would warn others of his real self easily enough. Revenge was often perceived as a negative or evil motivation, but the circumstances for it was never really considered. Revenge on the bad guys was just, right? Righteous, even? Surely he was correct to want to get retribution on those who had killed his family. Was that wrong?

He balled his fist up in frustration and stood up abruptly. He had to be right. No, it didn’t matter if he was - he’d make it right. Grow strong and no one would question you. The words ‘grow strong’ echoed around his head gratingly, forcing a fiercely annoyed look to spring on his face, “Nintaijutsu: Inner Strength.” A quick series of hand seals followed, ending with Calm gripping his own wrist. There was no effect or obvious aura, but when Calm immediately moved to lash out at the already battered tree, a loud crunching sound was heard. Proportionately, it should have been impossible, but Calm’s arm had torn a massive part of the tree’s midsection to shreds with a single swipe. It groaned, the few wooden threads left giving way immediately. The tree fell over.

Calm sighed and pressed the fist into his palm. He couldn’t control Inner Strength just yet, and it already demanded ridiculous control to begin with. It just seemed to react to him sometimes, which was a dangerous thing if he got heated. It was the reason why he always tried to remain so calm, why he was so quiet, avoiding unnecessary conflict where he could. It was then that he remembered that the another genin was practicing nearby. The medical eyepatch Calm was wearing covered his obvious eye abnormality, but this incident with the tree would not be so easy to cover up.

Frederik spots the genin next to him topple over tree. He isn't really awestruck, after all he does practice medical ninjutsu, but is still impressed by the might of his comrade. He makes a smile at himself. His white smile radiating joy. This one reminds him of his former teammate...the one that left. His smile fades almost instantly, his expression growing in intensity. A single tear may have been seen but he wipes his face and apply his mask cover to his face.
"You don't have the time to wallow in misery, there is work to be done."
He fixes his bracers before continuing his stride observing at the village. He notices a family getting ramen. A lone man gazing from a balcony. Erik decides that it would be best if he returned to the training grounds. He might be needed there. If not needed he could always practice his taijutsu. Erik realizes he hasn't practiced using his byakugan in a while. He goes to a training dummy, he does a quick shadow clone justice to create more. He puts his hands on his two tantos. He focuses his chairs to his eyes
"BYAKUGAN"
His eyes glow with a white energy, his chakra seems to flw seems to be stronger. He focuses on one of the dummy's, then he focuses on them all. He changes his stance, drawing his tangos in a backhanded grub on both hands,
"2 blade, 64 cuts"
In a flurry of blows and cuts he starts to maim and dismember the dummy's. Ift these were humans he'd apply critical blows to the chest, head, neck, even the arm. He eventually stops the flurry and sheaths the tantos. The clones poof away and the dummy he clones is nothing more than splinters. He fixes his gloves real quick and, for once In a while, is satisfied with his effort.

Ketsueki strolled to the training ground in the look for the two genin that he was suppose to meet. “If you’re here to meet a jounin, come forward. Because if I have to find you it won't be pretty,” he grumbled under his breath and continued to look around.

During his time away from missions and training he learned more about himself than he wanted to actually admit. He knew that he cannot stand to work with others, and being put into this group with genin was something that he wasn’t looking forward too. He was growing impatient and started to look around, were they testing him, or just wanting to annoy him.

He began to walk towards one his training dumbies and broke the thing in half. He was using brute strength to break the things in half. He sat on the ground and looked at the sky, the sky was clear even though he was in the hidden cloud village. “I’m not trying to scare you,” he mumbled. This was said as he through some shuriken at the targets. He was trying to get the rustiness off of him. It came off just fine.
