- All Teams -

Standing infront of the line of graduates, their academy teacher, Kojiro-sensei, stood with his arms cross, and his face looking unusually proud of the groups. It was finally the day of graduation, and everyone in that room had performed exceedingly well. He'd almost been surprised by the pickings of this year. He wondered how they would react to the team assignmets? Not everyone was as... social as others. They ranged from Hanayo to Yuuki, and had everything inbetween. They were one of his hardest classes, and one of his favorite, he was almost sad to see them leave. He had a good feeling about this year. It was sad he wouldn't see most of them again. He'd have to make it a point to watch the Chunnin Exams in a year. Maybe even earlier, he thought smiling to himself.

"You all have done very well, and have graduated from being an academy student. I find it a pleasure to have seen you all pass, to continue on in your ninja path. Now, as full-fledged ninja, you will form up into squads of three, and meet up with your respective sensei's. I have talked with them, they are expecting you within 30 minutes. Do not be late. You will find your senseis there.

Dotou, Yuuki, Hotomi, meet up at training field 7. You will be squad 4.
Sei, Park, Hanayo, meet up at field 45. You will be squad 5.
Matsuri, Hideki, Satoru, meet up at field 13. You will be squad 6."

Kojiro continued for a minute listing off team after team in the class. Standing still for a minute, he then motioned to the door.

"Head out now, we don't want to keep them meeting, this is an important day. I wish for all of you to do well."

He, however, did not smile at wishing them well. Turning, he headed back to his office, talking to himself.

"Honestly, I'm more worried about Jonin this time around than the gennin's skills. What on earth is Lord Hokage thinking with that lot? And senseis at that. I really don't want to see them back here."

The genin trials
Satoru Yamada - Squad Six
If he were to be honest with himself, Satoru never expected a real sense of pride at the achievement of becoming a genin. It was the lowest of the ranks in the Shinobi ladder, after all, and it was merely a stepping stone in his over-all goal. However, as the white-haired boy stood amongst his fellow graduates, a warm feeling began to build within his chest. The feeling, he knew, was not unlike the last time he felt true accomplishment - when he made his first, and closest, friend. His face sported the beginnings of a smirk, sharply narrowed eyes glinting as Kojiro-sensei began his briefing. It was mainly things he already knew. Squads of three, and he would have to meet up with his sensei in thirty minutes. With a decent amount of patience, only frayed by the silent tapping of his fingers within the pockets of his jacket, Satoru waited for the team formations. Within seconds, the roles began to get called.

Squad Four was Dotou, Yuuki, and Hitomi. He knew only basic information about each of them. Dotou was a confident, down to earth guy. Satoru never really talked to him much outside of Academy crap, and only knew what he knew from bored observation. Yuuki was a Uchiha, and a rather quiet one at that. Satoru never really bothered to speak to him. He knew next to nothing about Hitomi.

...Damn, he really needed to get out more.

His name wasn't called for Squad Five, either. There were only a couple he knew somewhat personally. There was Park, who Satoru sparred with quite a lot. The boy was gifted at taijutsu, for sure, and had a cool sense of humor. Hanayo was a bubbly girl that Satoru could get along with, if he spoke to her more often. Sei, was someone he genuinely knew not a lot about. Another one of the students that he only talked to when necessary during classwork. It wasn't out of a dislike or grudge or anything like that, he just never got around to it.

Finally, his Squad was called. First it was Matsuri, then Hideki, and then, finally...Satoru himself. Matsuri, he probably knew least of all. All he knew was that she was a Hyuuga, and that she was very quiet. Liked books. Seemed nice, though. Reminded him a bit of Megumi, now that he thought about it. That girl was one of the most introverted people he knew. Hideki was also someone he wasn't famil-...

'The Hell have I been doing these past few years?' Satoru thought sheepishly, glancing over at the two teammates in question once everyone began to group up with their new teammates. He wasn't that anti-social, was he? The only person he could actually call himself a friend to was Park, and that guy was pretty friendly to everyone! Eh...at least now, he could try to get to know his teammates a bit more, yeah? Maybe.

"Yo, Matsuri, Hideki." He grinned slightly as he approached the two, a hand raised in greetings. "You guys wanna head out now?" They had thirty minutes to get to Field 13 - plenty of time for ninja.

Yuuki Uchiha: Squad 4
Yuuki fidgeted slightly in his seat off to the side of the classroom. This was it, all that work had paid off and he was now a full fledged shinobi. He ran his thumb along the smooth lacquered saya of the katana he had resting against his shoulder. The blade was a family heirloom by the name of Ryuga. His father had gifted it to him when he became a Genin. The solid black blade had been in the clan for generations, its origins and make having long since faded from memory.

The young Genin's mind wandered slightly as he watched students filter into the classroom. Which of them would he be teamed up with? He couldn't help but wonder if they would get along or not. Most didn't seem to like him just because he was the Hokage's son and another 'genius Uchiha.' Sure, his grades were good from actually studying, but compared to his older sister? They were pretty low.

Granted, by his age she'd already become a Chuunin... so there was that too.

Yuuki's fingers lightly brushed against the cool metal of his forehead protector. The village's emblem had been engraved into the smooth steel. He had proven himself worthy to the exam proctors, but things were only going to get more difficult from now on. His eyes shifted towards the door as it was opened and Kojiro-Sensei stepped inside, calling for everyone to move to the front of the classroom. They listened to their sensei give a short speech before reading off the teams.

"Dotou, Yuuki, Hotomi, meet up at training field 7. You will be squad 4."

Squad Four, eh? At least he didn't have to wait long. Damn, was kind of hoping to be paired with Hideki... At least that way he'd actually know one of his teammates right out of the gate. Once he knew the team he was on, Yuuki didn't pay as close attention to the rest of what Kojiro had to say. Only when Kojiro took his leave did Yuuki start focusing again. Guess it was time to find his teammates and head out.

...

......

Why'd he have to be so bad at remembering names and faces? Datou... was the one that had his face all wrapped in bandages, right? Or was that Satoru? Maybe he should just wait a moment or two for the crowd to thin....

Dotou Hayashi of Squad 4
During the graduation, anyone who examined Dotou carefully would notice he was trembling ever so slightly. He was nervous, and he had been ever since he heard about this graduation. Each person in this room was selected for doing exceptionally well in class. For example, there was Park and Satoru. Those two were monsters at taijustu that no one else in their class could compete with in hand-to-hand combat. Their were a few people like that in every category. Whether it be taijustu, kenjustu, ninjustu, or genjustu, there was one or two students here that excelled in it. Not to mention the fact that a few of the students here were from particularly powerful or notable clans. They had Hyugas and Uchihas, and then their was him, Dotou of the Hayashi clan, and he was good at...hiding.

He clenched his fist. 'No, I deserve to be here just as much as anyone else! ...even if I only made it here by the skin of my teeth. Besides, I can do other things besides hiding.' He remembered Kojiro-sensei complimenting his water clones, and the memory reassured him. 'In fact, I should be honored that I'm surrounded by people this strong. That's just a testament to my own strength!' Dotou stood a little straighter, and listened to his Kojiro-sensei assign them to their squads. While he still did feel a bit like the odd man out, he took pride in being here.

He learned he was on squad four with Yuuki and Hotomi. 'Yuuki?' He had heard the name before. It only took Dotou a few moments to figure out who he was. His eyes widened in surprise. 'The Hokage's son!' Yuuki had had a bit of a reputation around the academy. He was another one of those Uchiha geniuses who just seemed naturally talented at life in general. Dotou sighed. 'Well, hopefully he's friendly at least.' He then turned his attention to his other team mate. '...Hitomi.' He knew most the people there by reputation rather then personally, and she didn't have much of a reputation to his memory. Dotou froze for a moment in shock as he came to a sudden realization. He didn't actually know anyone personally in the room. None of his friends had done well enough to be here. 'No wonder I feel so out of place!' He shook the realization off; it didn't matter now. Now it was time to meet the people he'd spend the next couple of years with. The people who would challenge him to become stronger as he would challenge them. The people who's blood, sweat, and tears would mix with his own to forge their futures.

Most importantly, now was the time to meet the people he hoped to one day call "friend", but to do that he'd have to make a good first impression. As other people began moving around to leave or find their squad mates, Dotou raised his hand and held up the number four. "I'm not going to lie; I'm not very good with names and faces, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Dotou of Squad Four! If you guys want to head to the training field together, I'm right here!" He announced loudly and confidently. While it would likely draw unwanted attention, he didn't care. He was excited to meet his new comrades and their new sensei.

- Matsuri Hyuuga - Squad Six -

Matsuri shook in the back, it seemed like she was really nervous. While true, in reality, she was fighting back the urge to open her book. She'd made the mistake of starting before class, and now she wanted to know how Sir Minamoto's chapter ended. Still, something important was happening today. Today, she was a shinobi, for real. She'd barely passed the final exam, but it was good enough. She needed a jonin, she wanted to be strong, she worked hard and knew it, she just need someone to teach her different. She wasn't sure of that, but at the moment, it was her best hope.

Matsuri looked up listening as the names were called, hers was on the last team, her teammates were Hideki and Satoru. She knew their faces, but Matsuri didn't often talk to them, she wandered what they were like. Quietly she walked down to them, messing with her blindfold, making sure it was on. Her eyes embarrassed her. Satoru was already waving at her and Hideki.

"Yo, Matsuri, Hideki, you guys wanna head out now?"

"Y-yeah. Let's go, I'm ready to go whenever you two are."

She didn't admit she hoped to beat Sensei to the training site so she could finish her chapter.... infact.... Matsuri tried to increase her byakugan ever so slightly, trying to catch sneak peek. She looked under the false cover, under the real one... and realized the page was backwards... she'd have to wait afterall to finish it. She rubbed her blindfold.

"Anyways, I-I'm glad to be in a team with you two. I-I hope I don't get in your way any. So, uh, do you think our new sensei is going to be scary any?"

Park Lee: Squad Five
Finally, all his hard work and determination had paid off, his goals finally starting to shape become a shinobi his own way as he puts it using his hands and feet. Park's eyes keep looking up to the ceiling then back to the front of the room, he already knew that the genin are put in team so his mind was wondering to who he would end up with. To him, the best type of teammates would be one focused on Genjutsu and the other on Ninjutsu to make up for Park's weakness in both the subjects. As Park thought back in the end he was lucky to have passed the academy with his complete inept in both Ninjutsu and Genjutsu.

Park began listening as Kojiro-sensei began calling out the squads, he was stuck to hoping that he would end up with someone that get rid of his weaknesses or at least covered them for him. Park listened Squad 4 Dotou, Yuuki, Hitomi and a small tsk sounds escaped his mouth, the first two didn't bother him sure they would be useful but that last name Hitomi from what he could remember about seeing her train and practice in the academy she was great at Ninjutsu.

As Kojiro-sensei began calling out the next squad he listened closely wondering if it was going to be his squad curiosity filled his mind. He heard the first name Sei, Park didn't quite know what she was good at. The next name he knew the best out of anyone since well it was Park himself. The last name was one he knew well, after all, she was the airhead of the academy someone that Park got along with...slightly. She was a Hyuuga meaning another Taijutsu specialist or at least he guessed.

Park began looking around the room before slumping back in his chair. Names were something he knew he can remember what he had heard and seen but faces were different he can never put a name to a face. Park could just do what Dotou did but to steal what someone else did was just so uncool, I mean hell Park wasn't an Uchiha.

HANAYO HYUUGA - SQUAD FIVE

The later summery spring day seemed to drag on a lot, a long while of waiting in the stuffy wooden building set as testament to the higher powers from the heights of the Hokage's manor; It was like that a lot as she found herself cramped into the interior of a smooth wooden seat with her hands running across the varnished oak desk that her books laid about for her to study (or on the floor, if one of the more rude and ruthless students didn't appreciate her antics for that day.. But you know what?
236577.jpg
Today was the day that Hanayo would never have to deal with that again. Because-- although something already broken has little chance of shattering again, today was the day that the legendary dimwit of Konoha was going to piece and tie herself back together with all the might she could ever give. Today was the day that she was going to become a real shinobi for the benefit of her village, her clan, and most importantly-- herself! The excitement found within every flowing node of joy and bliss in her life made it hard to contain and sit still, but... the dawn was only just truly coming.

Kojiro-sensei began to take his stage at the front of the rising bleachers of desks and scholarly scrolls and papers long marked with pencil. With a stack of papers that she seemed to mark up as his speech and the headbands in place, her attention (or whatever miniscule amount of ability she had towards the ability) seemed to focus in as he stood there in wait to begin. "You all have done very well, and have graduated from being an academy student. I find it a pleasure to have seen you all pass, to continue on in your ninja path." The teacher that she'd come so long to know as her one true sensei was finally giving his goodbyes-- goodbye to the children that had looked up to him since they were merely six or seven all the way to the twelve year strong Genin that they'd become with innumerable counts and bouts of hard work and raw skill. The only feeling that she could feel in a feel-y sense... that was of sadness-- of sorts. Melancholic happiness of a bittersweet end and the start of hopeful beginnings. ...In her own way, she could feel that he was feeling it too.

"Now, as full-fledged ninja, you will form up into squads of three, and meet up with your respective sensei's. I have talked with them, they are expecting you within 30 minutes. Do not be late. You will find your senseis there." He continued to speak, wise and full of the same class that he'd imbued into them-- most of them, at least. ...Hanayo withstanding as one of many outliers of the statistic sample. ...Soon thereafter, the names of her fellow peers sounded off in a count of what seemed to be clusters of three.

"Dotou... Yuuki... Hitomi, meet up at training field 7. You will be Squad 4." Kojiro-sensei's voice carried-- the first squad of Genin to be formed in her class, and Hanayo couldn't be happier for them! ...Even if she'd never really spoken to any of the trio as, even though her bombastic outbursts were legendary, she'd never really had friends thanks to the worst coming out of most crowds. But, she knew she respected the lot of them.

Hayashi Dotou, the cool head and keen eye of the Konoha Academy. Though she'd never spoken one on one with him, Hanayo knew the boy as someone that could be depended on in times of need-- that's how her heart introduced him to her!

Uchiha Yuuki, a rather reclusive scholar in comparison to his or even her own class-- As Uchiha were apt to do, as Hanayo had to admit that she didn't know much at all about one of Konoha's founding clans despite their importance to the village's history. She could just never be able to talk to one. They were all so intimidating or shy..!!

... Finally, Hoki Hitomi-- now if there was a smart girl, Hanayo knew it had to be her! She was never able to speak with her at all-- but, goddamn if the snow-haired angel of the village academy didn't manage to inspire a little bit of confidence and mixed feelings in the lah-lah-loopy sort of member of the Hyuuga clan. ...She hoped to be able to finally attain the confidence to ask for a sparring match soon-- now with the abilities of a true blue shinobi!

Hanayo shook her head-- keeping herself in the game, carefully waiting for her name to be called alongside whichever (unfortunate) teammates she'd get put with and prove herself to! ...Squad Five.

"...Sei.."

The tension seemed to kill her in every second she waited-- though, she quietly listened to the names. Sei Tashima.. How to describe her so brazenly? Would an actual angel of kindness count? Another person that she'd never spoken to much, Hanayo was always impressed by her insanely effective observational talents-- as it was something that she personally couldn't do so intently.

"...Park.."

An excited sort of grin curled up at the outermost corners of her lips-- Now that was a boy she could respect without any doubt. He was one of the hardest workers in the class through and through, since.. he had no special abilities like her or an Uchiha or any other famous clan member. He was just Park, he was simple, he was driven, and he was the real hero of the class.

...
......
........
The wait seemed to continue forever, even though a mere second or two as it truthfully might have been.

".... Hanayo."

Her mind seemed to stop for a second, eyes staring up at the board and Kojiro-sensei as he stood there -- trying to think about how she felt about Hanayo. ...She'd heard a lot about the girl, as far as her denseness went. The girl wasn't the most popular-- a girl viewed as little more than bold and annoying in her very speech for simply two seconds, as that was the minimum amount anyone seemed to be able to take her. ...But she couldn't pin where she"saw the girl si-- Wait!

The gears began to turn, shaking off the dust from disuse in her mind as she began to stand up-- hopping onto the desk with the rubber soles of her sandals squeaking against the lacquered surface of the oaken desk, though soon being muffled out by Hanayo's own excitably shrill voice belting out her trademark "YOSHAAAAA!!" in a brief moment of excitement, not aware of her apparent interruption as Kojiro-sensei waited to call out the final Genin team.

Like a flinging catapult, the brazen Hyuuga's arm swung out to point at both Sei and Park in an attempt to now silently say something along the lines of "eternal Team Mystery Sensei!" before sitting back down and remaining quiet for the last bit of the calling, having let out her pent up excitement from the awaited day of graduation, attempting to go without Kojiro's scolding of her excitable outbursts (likely again.)

The final team, however, happened to be formed of a familiar name-- Matsuri, the only other Hyuuga in her class. ...Not of blood relation outside of mere cousins, though-- as she remained firmly in the Branch family. ... She didn't know much about them, as her father kept her in check with arduously difficult training that she often rarely succeeded in instead of meandering about the Hyuuga complex and discover more. She learned only as he wished-- which, is why even as a fellow clansmen, Hanayo rarely spoke to Matsuri-- though the respect for a quiet and complex soul behind those patches, that was immense from one Hyuuga's heart to another.

As the ceremony came to a close, the feet of the bold Byakugan wielder began to stand in the aisles and runways between desks subtly moving as she attempted to tie her forehead protector firmly around her right thigh as a badge of honor-- where it wouldn't slip and inhibit her specialty Gentle Fist style of combat as she'd been extensively (but rarely proficiently) trained in since her birth. The dark blue ribbon complemented her black shorts well, as well as the white qipao she wore. ...Though, it clashed with her golden necktie ribbon.

With the headband firmly around her thigh, Hanayo's foot stomped onto the ground-- resolve steady in her heart as she prepared to take the first steps she'd been able to as a true Genin that she'd been training for since she was six mere years old. Her hand thrust towards the sky, flat in her gesture as she made herself known to the room once again before she began to speak-- wise, for once in her life.

"... It's been a long time-- we've all been training hard and long for.. for years..! I don't know about you-- but there's no way I'm gonna let myself down! ... I'll make you proud, Kojiro-sensei..!! ...And future sensei..!" Her hand thrust back down, her position turning into a balled squat-- her body rounding itself out, before jumping up as high as she could and thrusting all four of her long limbs out with a mighty cry. "Bllllasst off..!! Yoshaaa!!!"

Turning back around, her fingers pointed at her newest teammates as she secretly prayed that they'd be as absolutely excited as she was before backpedaling towards the opened door. "...Sei, Park, Park, Sei..!" Hanayo repeated, her pointing switching between the two of them as she spoke. "...I'll see you at the meeting field..! I'm gonna go meet Mystery-sensei! ...Last one there is a rotten soybean!"

...And so, was the last thing Hanayo Hyuuga said before she turned around, promptly smacked into the wall, and ran out of the building proper-- her mind read empty, but her heart read nothing but pure hope for her future as a newly made Genin!

HIDEKI UKITA
It was time. Time to finally get his placement in a squad. Something he had been excited for, for a month he had been filled with excitement over this one particular moment. The day he would get his new squad and his sensei. People he would be spending most of his time with for the upcoming year or so until he gains status as a Chuunin. Was he worried about the exam to get to this point?

Of course not, he had prepared for this occasion as best as he could.

If he failed he would have just taken it again later on, gather more knowledge and training until he managed to make it. In fact, Hideki actually found the tests to be rather easy. He knew his strengths and weaknesses, and he worked with them to create the best means of getting the tests done as he could. That, along with a great deal of training, he managed to plow his way through to being a successful genin. While not the greatest of titles, he only knew it was a matter of time before he was able to become a Chuunin, which was a shoe in for him to gain as he was going to keep working towards it with every day he had until it.

He simply needed to collect all the information, techniques and tools at his disposal to be ready for it.

But that was a mile off anyways, he still had a great deal of growing to do, as a person, as a ninja and as a young man. He was noted to be an old soul at times, but when all he had was time to think ahead, he did. And so far it helped him achieve all he wished. Think ahead, prepare and deal with the present. He was no clairvoyant, but the future was easy to read if you simply think about it. And for him, he truly didn't care what group he was in and what sensei he had, the results would largely be the same in terms of what he had to do.

He had to meet his group, figure out how they act and what they can do, see his sensei, see how they act and how they teach.

....

Wait a minute...

Was sensei giving his closing words?

OH SHIT HE DIDN'T LISTEN TO THE SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT!

Immediately sitting up he looked around the room, suddenly hyper alert to all that was going on he saw the many shenanigans of the people running around. Hanayo was rushing out the door, no idea what group she was in, the bandage guy was talking to two others so he couldn't be with him. So that left a few others.... Wait... The bookworm was walking to the other edgy guy! Maybe he was with them!?!? They were nearby so maybe they came to him and he was acting like "The cool uncaring" guy in one of his manga? God he hated that guy, course it was a character you loved to hate so you just kinda not hate him while you hate him.

Or was he with Hanayo? He only managed to see her leave the room so maybe... But she would've called him out, and he'd definitely hear her say his name. Considering how loud she was he wondered how he didn't hear her outbursts before, or was she just keeping it all in? Not like she was one to do so that's for certain.

Hideki uncrossed his legs upon his desk and set his feet upon the floor. Standing up and stretching the weariness from his body he walked over to the two, the guy seemed to speak first, then the bookworm. Considering the friendly neighborhood Edge and the Bookworm regarded him as their teammate, he gave a small mental celebration for his luck, and an admonishing for getting all worried.

"Our sensei will probably be cool. Don'tchyea worry Bookie." his smirk broke through patting his teammate upon the top of her head. "Yea, probably should head out, not like we got anything better to do. their likely waiting for us anyways, sooner we can get this first training done the sooner we can grab lunch, then maybe an afternoon nap if we're lucky." the young man stretched a little, examining the two in front of him with slight interest. "So Bandage hands, yea know the way?" he motioned a nod Satoru's way.

He shuffled the shield upon his back and realigned his sword belt, all present and accounted for and he was ready for whatever came in the rest of this day. Come hell or high water, they would succeed.

"...Why do I suddenly have a gut feeling this won't be a meet and greet with our sensei... Best we keep our eyes open, no offense Bookie."

Satoru Yamada - Squad Six
It was rather amusing how active the class quickly became. As soon as Satoru spoke to the shy, blindfolded Hyuuga, the other students decided to make their opinions and introductions heard. Somewhere behind him, the white-haired youth was nearly blindsided by the boisterous voice of one Dotou Hayashi split through the air, yelling something about his name and how he was ready to head out. It was through a surprising amount of self-control that Satoru didn't react with anything other than a slight twitch of his fingers. His hearing was sharper than most, and it wasn't amiss for him to gain a headache purely through a clutter of loud and boisterous voices.

But...nah.

Today was supposed to be a happy, positive day, right? There was no reason to get annoyed and angry at another hopeful Genin. That'd be pretty shitty of him.

He tuned back into the Hyuuga just in time to catch the end of her sentence. Scary sensei, eh? He offered her a half grin, revealing an elongated canine. Teachers were teachers, ne? Scary or not, they were supposed to teach, and Satoru had a shit ton of things he planned to learn. Just as he was about to say as much, he caught the sight of their final teammate, the Hideki guy, heading their way the back of the classroom.

Almost subconsciously, Satoru's head tilted slightly to the side, as he briefly glanced over his teammates, half-listening to Hideki's words. Hideki's hand comfortably patted Matsuri's head, showing the height difference between the two. Both seemed pretty fit, for their ages of course. Satoru knew from personal experience that size didn't matter, though, especially when you could rupture a heart with a literal finger tip. Damn, Byakugan-users were crazy.

"-So Bandage hands, ya know the way?"

Hold on, Bandage Hands? Satoru held back a snort, although his lips, having been tilted down into a 'thinking frown', unconsciously grew into a wide smirk. He did, in fact, know the way...but hot damn, that nickname was terrible. He's been called Chalk Head, Fish-Eyes, and a wide repertoire of insulting nicknames, but never Bandage Hands.

Satoru rolled his shoulder, allowing the pop to free the tension in his shoulders. Standing silently in one spot really wasn't his style.

"Field 13 is about five to ten minutes away, near the bridge." Satoru shrugged, crossing his bandaged arms comfortable behind his neck. "It's a bit outta the way. Hideki, though...Bandage Hands, Bookie. Really?"

His right eyebrow arched up as he began walking backwards towards the exit, smirk growing.

"I'm expecting something better when we start kickin' ass, alright?" He moved his gaze from Hideki to 'Bookie'. Behind the blindfold and the meekness, he was sure she could kick ass. Hideki, too.

Eh...maybe this whole team thing would be cool. Can't make it through the ranks without people at your back, right?

Hitomi Hoki: Squad 4

Hitomi had to resist the urge to shift as her nerves took hold. Ever since she came back to Konoha she had both anticipated and dreaded this day. On one hand it's a stepping stone toward her future as a ninja and her chance to gain some allies, maybe friends, on the other hand it could lead to her needing to work harder to hide her secret. She had avoided becoming close to any of her classmates over the years or bringing attention to herself any more then needed. Even if she knew who most of them where due to studying the more unique clans of Konoha. The only reason she was paired with the special kids is because she showed her gift for medical jutsu as it would be weird for a Hoki not to be gifted in it. She had hidden her other skills.

Keeping her hands still in her lap she began scanning the room to take her mind off the more dreaded thoughts. I wonder who will be my teammates. There are several gifted students here, I'm sure any team we form will be a strong one. In it's own way. A few fighters would contrast well with my healing and ninjetsu. Perhaps, someone skilled in taijutsu and genjutsu. That would limit the options. Her attention was turned back to Kojiro-sensei as he began listing off the teams. She listened with bated breath that she only released when her team was listed. Standing she looked around for her teammates as she listed off the facts she knew about them in her head. Squad four. Yuuki Uchia, son of the fourth shinobi and member of the Uchia clan. Good in taijutsu and decent in ninjutsu. Lacks in genjutsu. Dotou Hayashi, member of the dwindling Hayashi clan specialties...unknown?

Did I really neglect to find out the skill set of one of my classmates? How foolish of me! I will have to make sure I fix that. Scowling she finally spotted one of her teammates, the afformentioned Dotou Hayashi, just as the boy loudly introduced himself and beckoned Hitomi and Yuuki to join him. Arching a brow her lips twitched into a small smile at her teammates excitement. Hopefully, I shall soon replicate said excitement as I discover people I can trust. Perhaps, call friends or even...family.

Tentatively
hopeful she headed toward Dotou until she stood before him. Holding out her hand in an offer of friendship she introduced herself trying to keep from sounding to formal. It was a bad habit of hers. "It's a pleasure to meet you Dotou, I'm Hitomi Hoki, if you wouldn't mind I would like to accompany you to the training field."

Yuuki Uchiha: Squad 4

Well, it seemed like the crowd was already starting to thin. Squads were forming up and heading out to meet with their respective sensei. Now if he could just put names to-

"I'm not going to lie; I'm not very good with names and faces, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Dotou of Squad Four! If you guys want to head to the training field together, I'm right here!"

Huh, so Dotou was the one with his face hidden in bandages.... Satoru must have been the one with his hands and arms wrapped then. Dotou... if he remembered right, he could use water release. Huh, a water release and a fire release user... impromptu smoke screens? The genin smirked slightly from the thought. Though there was a good chance they'd end up burning themselves more than their enemy. Probably not a good idea right off the bat. Dark eyes noticed the white haired kunoichi approaching Dotou, Must be Hitomi then. Think she focused on medicine, never really saw her reading anything else.

Finally, he drew close enough to be heard without raising his voice, "Figured I'd find you guys sooner or later, I'm Yuuki Uchiha." He offered a slight nod to the pair, "Training field seven really isn't that far from here at least." Yuuki hesitated slightly before motioning towards the door, "Wanna talk more on the way? If anything, it'll be quieter outside than in here."

- Matsuri Hyuga; Squad 6 -

"Bookie?"

Matsuri tilted her head in confusion for a minute. How'd she end up with "Bookie" as a nickname? That was certainly an... interesting nickname. On second thought, it wasn't Hyuga, good enough for her. It seemed like Satoru was just as confused at his impromptu nickname. She glanced at his hands, becoming curious why they were bandaged. Was it worth sneaking a look under them? Probably not, her byakugan was limited, and Hideki brought up a good point.

"...Why do I suddenly have a gut feeling this won't be a meet and greet with our sensei... Best we keep our eyes open, no offense Bookie."

"Yeah, uh, yeah. I'll keep my eyes out. You can count on me to get your back."

She gulped a bit, that was an arrogant thing to say.

She opened her book, stealing a glance at the page numbers. She had 11 pages until the end of the chapter, midway, maybe she could read it on the way there?

"Ugh, no use, this is going to drive me crazy all day, knew I shouldn't have started this morning."

Matsuri took off, motivated to beat their sensei to the training area, so she could put her mind to rest. As she moved, she called back to the rest of her team.

"M-my name's Matsuri. Uh... bookies fine I guess? Either way, I guess 10 minutes is a long way. An eternity for the awkward. Uh, should, we, uh, talk about ourselves a bit? I really just want to be a decent ninja. There are a few people I'd like to compete with. I r-really don't want to lose to that person as a kunoichi. What do you want to do, if I can ask?"

She finally put the book into her pack, feeling through it as she went. It had the basic ninja equipment. Matsuri really wasn't confident in her skills being super, but she had the basics downpat. Besides, Satoru and Hideki seemed confident, whatever went on, she could rely on them.

Dotou had to hold in a chuckle after witnessing Hanayo's antics. While he hadn't met any Hyugas, of the ones he had she seemed by far the most excitable. She definitely had made their classes more interesting. He regretted not getting to know her better. Then again, he regretted his lack of social interaction with females in general. It seemed like he was particularly good at hiding from girls even when he wasn't trying to. He could never seem to get them to notice him. 'Then again, I can't really blame them. They had guys like Yuuki to worry about. The competition was rough.' The Uchiha men seemed to be just as good at stealing girls' hearts as they were at stealing ninjustu. Dotou vaguely wondered if that's why so many of the other boys in class didn't like Yuuki. He quickly shook the thought off. 'That doesn't matter. I'll worry about girls after I become a strong shinobi.'

Refocusing on the task at hand, he looked around for his teammates. That's when he saw who he could only assume to be Hitomi. Not one to approach a cute girl much less be approached by one, Dotou was momentarily at a loss for words. "I...uh...yeah, it's nice to meet you!" He quickly shook her hand. Then another boy approached them. Dotou did his best to discretely study him. '...so this is Yuuki Uchiha.' After listening to him, Dotou nodded in agreement with Yuuki's words and began walking towards the exit. He patted Yuuki on the back as he went by. "And it's a pleasure to meet you too, Yuuki." Dotou figured there was no point in making a big deal about the clans each of them was from. If he was being honest with himself, he'd know that the decision was stemmed from the fact he didn't particularly want to compare clans. 'Besides, an individual's strength comes from themselves not their clan.' He reminded himself. "I'd be happy to walk-and-talk over there with you guys. The sooner we get used to one another the better. We are squad four after all, and I don't know about you guys, but I want to be the best!" He gave them a thumbs up as he walked out.

Hitomi Hoki: squad 4
"Good to meet you Yuuki." Hitomi stated eyeing the uchiha. She had learned about his clan and his powers yet, hadn't really taken the time to look at him past that. She was wary of most Uchiha's by default of their history with the Chinoike's. Already, she was going over her training exercises that allowed her to control her kekkei genkai in her head. She would not allow a moment of weakness to expose her until she knew she could trust this particular Uchiha. Hitomi herself held no grudge toward them, leaving any feud in the past, but did not know if the Uchiha's had done the same. Nonetheless she had vowed to herself to make an effort.

Smiling, Hitomi nodded in agreement to Yuuki's question. Eager to get to know the people she will need to depend on. Following Dotou from the academy she listened to him speak. A grande challenge to partake in. Especially with the amount of competition and odds against us. "Then let us not slack off and train hard. " She said softly hoping to motivate them. " We still have much improvement to go before we can become Chuunin after all. Such as learning to work as a team. "

Hideki Ukita

"Hah, I'll try. Just give me something to work with later then, or I might start calling yea punching bag. Though a certain other friend of mine has that honor" Hideki flashed a slight grin towards a certain Uchiha in the room, he knew the nicknames were pretty terrible but they were good enough to break the ice. Though bookie brought up a good idea, talking about one another. Naturally he didn't have much to say, most of the interesting stuff came from him chatting and sparring with Yuuki.

"What do I want to do? Gona run through the guidance counselor questions first huh?" the young man smirked before continuing to the door. "But I get yea, I want to be a good ninja. Nothin' to big. No real lofty dreams and aspirations. I'm just... Hideki Ukita." he trailed off, his thoughts turning from the idea. Dreams, aspirations.... That's a dark corner he didn't want to move towards again, he knew his path, he only needed to follow it. No matter what mediocrity he is destined for; but no thinking of that right now, not at this moment as he needed to remain cheerful. The young man placed his hands into his pockets, leisurely walking down the way, expecting his group to follow him.

Training field 13 huh?

"We should hurry once we're outside. skip the awkward chatting all the way there. Sure we could walk but if we keep our future waiting it may get testy on us." the young man continued looking at a nearby window and frowning. "...Why are we walking out? We're ninja, seriously." he stepped towards the window and with a heave opened it. "Out we go!" the young man said as he leapt from the window of the building's second floor, latching onto a tree and doing a small gratuitous flip off it's truck to the ground below.

"Come on! No sense going the boring route! Last one to the field buys lunch!" with the announcement of the race, with him currently having abit of a head start, he bolted down the way towards their group's destination.

Sei Teshima Squad 5
Sei listened as Kojiro-sensei gave one final talk—it wasn’t exactly a lecture but there was something beneath his words that she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. What is it? She pushed the minor distraction to the back of her mind. It was one of the things she would have to deal with later. The first was her grandmother’s appearance at her graduation. Having the matriarch of their small clan attend an event at the Academy was a great thing considering how angry she was when Sei decided to become a shinobi instead of a doctor. But of course Sei knew her grandmother’s congratulations were only the treat used to distract the patient from the needle. She’d seen it so many times over the years.

Kojiro-sensei got to their teams. Snapping to attention, Sei listened carefully, glancing at the other students and mentally pairing them up as they were named.

“Sei, Park, Hanayo. You’ll be in Squad 5.”

Hanayo’s blast of excitement and energy woke up everyone in the room.

Ah. High energy. Great. Sei gave her a polite smile and nod. She’d have to find a way to handle that. But we’re teammates so I’ll find a way to deal with that. She turned her attention to Park. He’d soundly beaten her in every taijutsu class and exercise. Pretty much everyone beat her at taijutsu. Maybe Park will help me train. It made sense.

Finally, they were dismissed and Hanayo was already off and running. Sighing, Sei got up and walked over to Park. “I guess we should get going?”

Yuuki Uchiha: Squad 4
Yuuki offered a slight smile and nod to the pair as they made their way for the door. "Yeah, sounds good." It was then a certain friend's little comment reached his ears. In one smooth motion, he snatched a pencil from a nearby desk and sent it bouncing off the center of Hideki's forehead protector. He flashed the genin a slight smirk before heading out the door with the others.

"So Dotou," Yuuki spoke up once they were outside, his hands tucked in his pockets. "You said you just wanted to be the best. So... what, you talking like becoming Hokage or something?" Not an unusual assumption given the title was given to one of the most powerful of shinobi in the entire village.

Overall it was a nice day in the Hidden Leaf; clear sky, not too hot, just a pleasant day. The nearby market district seemed to be bustling as always while academy students were relaxing outside on break. "Going to be weird not going to the academy every day anymore, y'know?" The genin mused, glancing over at his new teammates.

Dotou was pleased with his teammates' reactions. They seemed excited and determined as well. He had been pretty nervous about the teams, but so far he liked the way things worked out. He curiously wondered what their new sensei would be like, and what exactly they'd learn from him or her. Would they emphasize teamwork or individual strength? Ninjustu or Taijustu? He had a feeling his questions would be answered soon. After all, it was unlikely they were simply going to meet on the training field to talk.

"So Dotou, you said you just wanted to be the best. So... what, you talking like becoming Hokage or something?" Yuuki question caused Dotou to pause. "...that's a good question." Dotou looked down at the palm of his right hand as if examining it in contemplation. 'How exactly do I know when I'm "strong shinobi"?' The question had bothered him since his mother's death. He had to ensure he kept his promise to her, but he was't sure how he'd fulfill it, so he had just focused on taking one step at a time. 'Maybe it's time I start looking farther ahead. If I become Hokage, no one can deny my strength, but... can a guy like me really become Hokage?' Dotou sighed, put his hands behind his head, and continued walking. "Yeah, I don't think I'm really Hokage material. I may have scored pretty high in our class, but I'm like the bottom of the top. There's nothing too special about me; I'm just your average guy. The Land of Fire would have to be pretty desperate if they make a guy like me Hokage." If he thought he could achieve such an honor, he'd work as hard as possible to reach it, but to Dotou the title of Hokage seemed out of reach. After all, he was just a average boy from a dwindling clan.

"Going to be weird not going to the academy every day anymore, y'know?" Dotou nodded in a agreement to these words. "Yeah, it will definitely be weird, but in a good way. Academy was getting kind of boring for me. I'm looking forward to new comrades, new challenges, and new adventures!" Having never really been outside the village, the prospect of traveling was exciting to Dotou. He couldn't wait for their first mission. He just hoped they'd prove themselves capable to receive one soon.

Hitomi Hoki: Squad 4
"Yeah, I don't think I'm really Hokage material. I may have scored pretty high in our class, but I'm like the bottom of the top. There's nothing too special about me; I'm just your average guy. The Land of Fire would have to be pretty desperate if they make a guy like me Hokage."

"Becoming Hokage is hard enough for the most experienced and talented shinobi." Hitomi stated in a rather lame attempt to comfort her suddenly pessimistic teammate. A bit put out at one of her teammates showing such a quality. "Besides, who cares about the scores one earns in academy? We still have an entire lifetime to prove ourselves and our specific skills without grades. Let's just focus on harnessing said skills and become great chuunin. Then we can focus on becoming Hokage or whatever."

"Going to be weird not going to the academy every day anymore, y'know?" "Yeah, it will definitely be weird, but in a good way. Academy was getting kind of boring for me. I'm looking forward to new comrades, new challenges, and new adventures!"

Hitomi hummed in agreement, smiling, as she imaged the missions they would be sent on. She imagined that they would eventually get sent to suna and hoped it would be soon. She missed her aunt and cousins back in Suna. Though, they were also bound to go to many other villages that Hitomi had yet to visit. " I can't wait to see the kinds of people we might run into. I wonder how many different types of clans there are out there?"

Park Lee: Squad Five
As Park was sat around waiting for most the people to disperse he began listening and watching what others we're doing, no one seemed unhappy with their team selection which was a good thing. Park personally was interested in his team he wanted to see why whoever picked the team decided on these other two to work with Park, maybe like he hoped they would get rid of his weakness or maybe improve his strengths only time would tell.

Park looked around the room it seemed most people have found their teammates while others seemed to be doing what he decided to and wait it out, perhaps he wasn't the only one bad with faces. It was then that a voice seemed to outmatch the rest, it was a voice he would be hearing a lot in the coming years after all it belonged to one of the people in his team. A small laugh escaped from Park it seemed even the airhead can say something wise once in a while and it was something Park agree with. He wouldn't let all his hard work go to waste and he was definitely going to not let himself down.

Park's eyes locked on Hanayo as she began cheerfully pointing at both Sei and Park which just caused another laugh to escape Park's mouth that girl was way to hyper all the time, saying that this is a very good reason to be hyper and even Park had to say he was excited. His mind began wondering again he was his Sensei going to be what type of teacher? what type of leader? would he be loud or quiet? focusing on Ninjutsu, Genjutsu or Taijutsu? As many questions flooded his head he noticed that Hanayo had already gone to meet their new Sensei or at least she had left the room which led Park to guess that.

Park was about to slowly raise to his feet before another voice interrupted him, this time thanks to Hanayo's earlier pointing Park could put a face to a name this was his other teammate Sei. Park nodded as he finally got out of his seat, he would miss the academy but new challenges were not ahead of him he could dwell on the past for too long. "I guess we should." Park said before making his way over to the door and sliding it open he stood holding the door open waiting for Sei to pass through, after all, manners cost nothing.

Satoru Yamada - Squad Six

After the initial instinct of twitching backwards, imperceptibly, as soon as he saw the pencil heading in his general direction, Satoru watched in amusement as the resident Uchiha pegged his apparent 'friend' in the center of the forehead protector. "The 'punching bag' has pretty good aim." He smirked, dropping his bandaged arms to his side. Still though, Hideki's dreams were a bit...lackluster, but respectable. Being a good ninja, he could definitely understand. But he, personally, wanted to be better than 'good'. If he was gonna make her proud, then being 'good' wasn't good enough. He needed to be great. He needed to be the best. "I ain't gonna stop at the top..." He murmured nostalgically, his smirk stretching into a half-grin at Hideki's words. A race, he could do. Classic exits were pretty boring, weren't they?

"Alright, I'm pumped now! Matsuri, I hope your allowance can cover me. I eat a lot." With a two-finger salute towards the blindfolded girl, Satoru crouched, his stance almost like that of an Inuzuka ready to lunge. In a burst of speed, he nimbly leaped over the head of a still slumbering genin, rolling smoothly over an empty desk and lunging out of the open window. Not even pausing, the Genin grasped the tree branch with a calloused grip, using the momentum to tumble to the air and land on his feet with an audible 'thud'. The weights were working, then? Good. A fraction of a second passed before he was dashing into the woods beside the Academy, an agile push of his feet taking him into the branches. The route between Konoha's training grounds was well-known to the young Genin. Very well-known.

"Damn cheater." Satoru growled under his breath, even though his sharp-toothed grin was still pulling at his lips. He wasn't kidding when he told Matsuri that he ate a lot.

He could already taste the BBQ on his tongue.

Nobushige Toyotomi - Squad 4

Standing in the middle of training field #7 was their bandaged Jonin. He was distinctive in being the only visible person there. Chasing away everyone else had been a pain. He could have probably asked, but that wouldn't have been fun. Kunai lay embedded around the field in various places, mostly where other ninja had stood about an hour to fifteen minutes before.

Looking at the squad of three incoming, he tossed a kunai gingerly between his hands. He called out impatiently

"Hey, are you three the dogs Kojiro promised me? Well, I'm not one to beat around the bush, get the hell down here so we can wrap this up. Tell me your name, and, hmm, something about yourself. A dream, or, uh, something, I really don't care.

We'll start from there.

Oh, and the worm lied to you, you aren't genin, not yet. The majority of your class won't pass or become ninja either. We get to decide that with a little test. Graduation's about finding candidates. Life's tough, deal with it."

He continued to play with his little knife, making it spin like a buzzsaw between his hands. Every few minutes the man looked around, it was a habit he'd developed. He looked everywhere but at the genin. In the side of his bag, a book hung out, first line reading "Effective Teaching for -"

Matsuri Hyuga - Squad Six

Matsuri was the first one out, but her heart skipped a beat as she heard Hideki from behind her call.

"Come on! No sense going the boring route! Last one to the field buys lunch!" ~Hideki

Before she could even react, he was off, rushing past her before she could even react.

"Wait, what? I-I can't-"

"Alright, I'm pumped now! Matsuri, I hope your allowance can cover me. I eat a lot." ~Satoru

Satoru was into it too, and he was faster than Matsuri as well, ALOT faster. She couldn't afford everyone else, there was Tenjin's new book coming out this month, she'd been waiting for all year, there was no way she way she was missing that! Matsuri went into panic mode as he crouched, and then bulleted past her. She did the only thing she could think of, or rather didn't think. She flared her byakugan and tapped his ankle with palm bottom. Matsuri, however, was a poor user of gentle fist, she had no idea how effective it was. Likely just a cramp.... she hoped.

"Sorry, Satoru!"

Matsuri ran as fast as she could. It was cheap and dirty, but she was the slowest person, there was no way she was losing her allowance on something like this!

HANAYO HYUUGA - SQUAD FIVE
tumblr_n6ahrcocUW1qc9zfzo8_250.gif

The day, apt for a place known as the Land of Fire, was rather summery to the touch of the Hyuuga heiress' skin as the crossbreeze of slight, rippling winds mixed with waves of heated air in a swirling mass of gusts-- a lot of damn breeze, as she would call it herself as the rubbery black soles of her Shinobi sandals rapped and tapped and sputtered and squeaked with every pounding, hard step she made against the dirt and pavement roads throughout the village of Konoha. ...It felt better than usual, the spring of the Leaf Village, as she could finally feel it as a newly found graduate of the village's academy.

Her feet quickly skipped across the roadways, dodging what rickety carts careened her way as she danced and pranced along to the meet-up field. .... Wherever that was.

Slowly, along the little concrete sidewalks along the wooden picket plank fences, the flash of ebony sandals began to come to a halt-- the easily distracted mind of Hanyo coming to slow crawl (as per usual for her anyway) as she attempted to remember exactly which field it was that she was supposed to be meeting her sensei... ...Maybe she should have listened better, but it was far... far too lat for that now. Quietly, she placed her finger to her chin while her eyes began to wander as she put the maximum effort she could into thinking. ...Where would she gather the knowledge best besides her own memory..?

Trudging forward like a weary soldier, Hanayo's speed stopped on a dime at the end of the walkway-- fully convinced of her own defunct mind and the lack of preparation she'd had outside of the drive and excitement to be a shinobi. ...She should've waited for Park and Sei, that's for certain now-- and she knew it. But, you know what?

Too and far late for that now.

"...Was it Field 40 or Field 45..?" Hanayo muttered to herself, her girlish voice being rather non-shrill for once as she tapped her chin and kept moving along in the direction that she'd prayed far ahead was the right direction to move. "Mmn..." The journey seemed to get a little bit more stressful-- she didn't want to disappoint her new teacher! ...On the first day, at least! Quietly, she hoped that her teammates would show on her aimless yet driven adventure soon enough to point her happy-go-lucky ass in the barest of the right direction.

...But for now, north was her favourite guess from the four directions. "...Hopefully Mystery-sensei's nice..!"

Yuuki Uchiha: Squad 4
Yuuki shrugged, hands still tucked in his pockets. "To be fair, the Third Hokage graduated at the bottom of his class... Still ended up a really powerful shinobi." He cast a glance at the Hokage Monument as he spoke, eyeing the faces that loomed over the entire village. "Though the position really isn't all it's cracked up to be."

Dark eyes shifted over to Hitomi as she spoke up, "Skipping on to Chuunin already?" He chuckled, shrugging once more. At the moment he was more concerned about who their sensei would be and what it was going to be like from then on. Though the figure that could be seen standing in the training field didn't tell too good of a tale...

The Jounin was.... well, blunt may have been an understatement. Yuuki blinked at the little bit of info he decided to reveal. They weren't really genin yet? "Then why the hell did they go through all the trouble making it seem like we'd graduated and were finished?" He growled, glancing over at his teammates before looking back at Nobushige. "What's this secret test then?" Yuuki questioned, forgetting entirely about the introductions he'd been asked for.
