height: 5'3"Akane is a short with a plump build. She has the typical tan skin of a Uzumaki, but has inherited her father's blue eyes. Akane keeps her long red hair held up up in a bun whenever training or on missions, but let's it hang free when off duty. Although she keeps up her fashionable appearance even when on duty, she aims for practical as well as stylish clothing, preferring a dress that's easy to move in while also being made of a thick material that resists cutting and cushions impact. Despite her need for practicality, she does insist on showing of her cleavage. Getting that cleavage didn't come easy; she's not about to hide it.

ConfidentAkane radiates confidence, with just a hint of mischief. She's known to be dependable and hard working, someone you can trust to get the job done without any setbacks. Those who get close enough for Akane to let her guard now, find she is more tired than she lets on. She's very quiet in private, constantly lost in thought. She craves physical contact in these moments, whether it be cuddling or just sitting shoulder to shoulder.
CHILDHOOD
Akane idolized her mother from a young age and would follow her everywhere, even sneaking into her office when she wasn't allowed a few times. Due to this, Akane was exposed to war talk quite frequently and even witnessed her mother breaking down in tears in private. She was aware of the toll of war in a way many children were spared, due to the war being fought outside of the Land of Fire's borders. Akane's bright disposition was worn down by this, and she developed into a rather somber child.
WAR TIME
Akane's rigorous training allowed her to move through the academy classes quickly, until she graduated at age 10. She was immediately placed on a squadron and sent out to the field. Akane's team primarily handle reconnaissance and supply shipments. Although they didn't see front line action, they did face many dangers. They often had to move through hostile territory, and even occasionally within enemy borders. During a reconnaissance mission, Akane's squadron discovered a company of soldiers preparing to attack one of Konohagakure's camps. There was not time to warn their allies before the attack without something to delay the enemy. Akane was crucial in this delay, utilizing her clans adamantine sealing chains to create a barrier capable to preventing the enemy from breaching the camp. This feat earned her the rank of chunin and a reputation that persists to this day, at the cost of some severe chakra exhaustion that left her hospitalized for several months.
AFTER THE WAR
The war left Akane with a great deal of trauma. In the aftermath of the armistice, she struggled to accept that the war was over. She often took missions to patrol the borders, paranoid of an attack. Her position as the Hokage's daughter and a war hero put an end to this, when Akane was designated as a diplomat. She was sent primarily to Iwagakure, in a a show of good will and respect. Her time as a diplomat, helped her accept that it was a time of peace. She began working through the trauma, and that bright personality began to reawaken.
PRESENT DAY
Akane has taken a break from her diplomatic work to act as a genin squad leader. She chose to switch career paths to watch over her young cousin, who she requested be placed on her team. Akane is very protective of her squad and hesitant to take on combat missions with them. She feels 12 year olds should not be endangering their lives. She often speaks openly against the use of young genin in battle and is pushing for restrictions against it.
Mother, Umiko Uzumaki
Akane has always idolized her mother as the pinnacle of womanhood, strength, and compassion. Her mother had always accepted her, even helping her transition once Akane made her gender clear. It's because of her mother that she chose to become a kunoichi and strives to maintain peace in the shinobi nations.

Cousin, Masao Uzumaki
Masao has been like a big brother to Akane. He helped look after her when she was young and trained her once she entered the academy. Akane worries over Masao's health and tries to get him to take breaks whenever possible.

Akane adores Akiko, seeing her as a little sister figure. She completely dotes on her cousin, showering her with affection and gifts. Akane does find Akiko's optimistic and cheerful outlook to be a bit naïve, but she feels it's something to be protected and cherished.

Akiko refuses to get angry, even when she has every right to be furious. The most she expresses is sadness when she's been wronged, feeling bad that things happened the way they did. When it gets to be too much, she will break down in sobs, usually over her inability to prevent someone else's suffering.
Akiko was just a baby when the Third Shinobi World War claimed the lives of her parents. Her teenage brother, Masao, took custody of her in the aftermath, giving up his career to become an academy teacher so he could safely support Akiko. He often relied on his family for help looking after Akiko, especially her aunt, Umiko, and cousin, Akane. The family adores Akiko and absolutely dotes on her, and she loves them in turn, dreaming of becoming a great ninja like all of them. They've tried to gently steer her away from the path of a ninja, seeing how gentle-hearted she is, but Akiko is determined to follow in their footsteps.
Akiko struggled greatly in the academy, much to the surprise and disbelief of her teachers. She was the Hokage's niece and related to so many war heroes, yet she couldn't control her own chakra and struggled to learn basic strategies. She refused to give up though, and with the help of her family and some additional tutors, she learned to turn her artistic pranks into a combat style, while slowly mastering the fundamentals of chakra control. She was late graduating, but she's finally succeeded in becoming a genin and has started down the road to becoming a ninja.
Big brother / Guardian, Masao Uzumaki
Masao has always been there for Akiko, devoting every moment he could spare for her. He always found time to cook with her and make crafts together, encouraging her to pursue her creative interests. It's thanks to his support and encouragement that Akiko is so comfortable being herself.

Akiko absolutely idolizes Akane, seeing her as a superstar kunoichi. She loves spending time together with her cousin and dreams of becoming her equal.

Akiko loves Umiko, but finds her a bit intimidating at times. It's not that her aunt is scary, it's that she feels so sad. Akiko always tries to be extra cheerful around her aunt, in hopes of brightening things up just a little bit.

combat style: Akiko's signature techniques all revolve around traps and pranks. She tends to do best when she can prep an area for the target to enter, but when she can't prep she'll rely on weighted chains for binding opponents, as well as various bombs made to disable those struck by them.
Akiko has terrible chakra control, which played a huge factor in her graduating late despite having such skilled family members to teach her. Although she would never admit it, it's a source of frustration for her that she lacks the signature Uzumaki skill with sealing techniques.

Akiko spits out a great deal of foam-like bubbles, which covers the ground and limits movement, The bubbles are spit out with enough force to wash away attacks and can even act as a smokescreen.

She keeps her hair tied back in a high ponytail and her bangs cut short and blunt, to ensure it stays out of her face. She dresses in simple clothing in shades of purple, always seen with her short-sleeved hoodie. Hifumi has no interest in appearances, only care to be comfortable and able to move freely. Still, she doesn't actually care what she wears, just throwing on whatever her family provides, as long as it's simple and comfortable.

Despite all this, she does want to make her family proud. Not by being the perfect Hyūga princess, but by showing them her strength and value as who she genuinely is.

Haruna is a stern mother who expects Hifumi to train endlessly to succeed as clan leader. As a result, the pair are often in opposition, as Hifumi simply wants to enjoy her life the way she's comfortable living, regardless of expectations.
Father, Hiroto Hyūga
Hiroto may not be as stern as Haruna, but he's just as demanding of Hifumi. Rather than confront her though, he prefers to direct her through more passive aggressive means, such as leaving "proper" attire for her laid out in her room, piling texts upon her bed relating to clan traditions and politics, and otherwise invading her space with reminders of what's expected of her.

Hifumi and Hideki have a bit of a tense relationship. Hifumi loves her brother, but he's completely faithful to the clan traditions and constantly pressures Hifumi to follow them as well.

LoudAshi is that cool mom all the kids in the neighborhood feel comfortable around. She has a way of putting people at ease and making them feel safe. She's always willing to listen and will never judge. Even if you were to come to her to reveal some crime you committed, she might call you an idiot first, but in the end she's gonna talk it out with you and determine why you did what you did so you don't repeat it.

Ashi had a long career as shinobi, mostly handling tracking missions. As she got older she began to specialize in search and rescue, often being dispatched to locate lost civilians during disasters. Once she hit her forties she decided it was time to slow down, turning to instructor work. She's taught two genin squads since the shift, all members of which have gone on to become successful chunin and jonins.
Ashi is a family woman first and foremost, but she didn't get married until her thirties, having her first child soon after. She would have waited longer, if her husband, Tosa, hadn't declared he would retire from fieldwork to raise their children. It was a surprise for everyone except Ashi when the stoic man became a house-husband. Still, Ashi took plenty time off during her pregnancies and the time after. Between their savings and support from their families, the couple was plenty capable of handling the loss in income, and time with the children was much more important. The only reason Ashi didn't take a long-term break while the children were growing was because she cared too much for her work.

Tosa and Ashi seem like an odd pair at first. He's rather gruff and unfriendly, while she's outgoing and a caretaker. Tosa's rather soft with his family though, especially Ashi, who he is incredibly affectionate with.

She is primarily a close-range combatant, utilizing the Four Legs technique to fight with an animalistic quality, as well as several ninjutsu that utilize working with her ninken partners. Ashi often relies on her heightened sense of smell during combat, utilizing techniques to obscure her opponents vision. Due to being so reliant on close-range techniques, Ashi does have a disadvantage with long-range combat and will avoid it whenever possible.

Beast Human Taijutsu Secret Art: Fang Passing Fang | rank C
A synchronized attack where Ashi and her ninken perform the Passing Fang, rotating their bodies to deliver a series of rapid body blows to a target. In order to coordinate their attacks and leave no opportunity for the target to defend, Ashi and her ninken synchronize with each other as much as they can: breathing in unison; using the Four Legs Technique; using the Beast Human Clone. As the users cross back and forth for this attack, the surrounding area is damaged as well, crushing rocks and shaving sections off the ground.

Ashi performs a Combination Transformation with one or more of her ninken, taking on the form of a massive wolf with the number of heads equal to number of participants. It is rare for Ashi to perform this technique with all three for the Shiba Trio. The form allows for significantly more powerful attacks, as well as jutsus, than the team is normally capable of. It is best used when the opponent is cornered as it can be difficult to coordinate attacks.

Ashi currently has a team of 3 shiba inu partners, trained specifically for search and rescue. Their names are Kan'i, Ryōsei, and Soboku and they are the fourth generation of ninken partners Ashi has had. They are going on a decade old now.
Ashi's first ninken partner, Jōmon, passed away while she was in her 20s, due to old age. Her second generation ninken was Chūbu, who died in battle while Ashi was in her thirties. The third generation of ninken were a trio named Shinshu, Mino, and San'in, who retired a few years after Ashi switched to training genin. All of Ashi's ninken are decedents of her first partner, Jōmon. Her children's ninken are descended from either her or her husband's ninken.
