Shadowborn Omen

A White Wolf
Konohagakure
02:33

Kitsune Touga
The dull hum of insects provided a droning background noise as Kitsune scanned the rooftops of the nighttime village, the wind creating a soft howl as it blew past his ears. The full moon provided plenty of light to see, but the clouds made that visibility spotty. The village had been on high alert for weeks, ever since receiving the cryptic message from the unknown organization. Kitsune turned to the two other Bear Division ANBU, signalling them to reposition. They faded from vision, advancing up to the next block. Before Kitsune followed, the smallest shift in the environment caught his eye. He scanned one more time, not focusing on any one spot in specific, but not allowing himself to focus in order to keep his scope of vision wide. Scanning for anything out of the ordinary, even down to a weird shadow or non-geometric silhouette.

Nothing, he thought, chalking it up to paranoia.

Kitsune made his way to the next rooftop, next jumping up to the top of a pole in order to get a better view of the village. He turned his attention to the treeline on the outside of the village. The trees stared back, unmoving. He looked through the trees, looking for regularities in the shapes to contrast against the chaotic shapes of the leaves. Even with the stillness in the leaves, Kitsune couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. Kitsune’s teeth grinded together for a second as the hair on his arms tried to stand up, pressed against the dark grey bandage wrappings on his arms.

The wind was blowing. It was sharp and harsh, yet still the leaves in the trees were unmoving. Kitsune quickly turned to the other ANBU still on the roof, but they were already unconscious. Kitsune figured he would have been in the same boat had he not moved to the top of the pole. He put his hands together, disrupting chakra flow within his brain shortly, releasing any Genjutsu that had been cast on him. He looked over the trees again, the leaves were flailing around aggressively in the wind. He looked around his sector of the Village again, searching frantically for anything out of place. His eyes were drawn to the silhouette of a person on the street, standing at a crossing and looking across to the other side. They were wearing a dark cloak, Kitsune couldn’t tell quite what color, just that it what dark.

Kitsune jumped down to the rooftop, releasing the Genjutsu from the two other ANBU and waking them up. Before they could even get their grips on reality, Kitsune had jumped into the alleyway adjacent to where the unknown figure had been standing. He ran down the alley, and peered into the street to see the figure turning a corner. He followed the figure to the corner, and upon looking around it found them standing still on the road, looking at the balcony of the Hokage’s office. In the blink of an eye, Kitsune was behind the figure. He knocked them off balance with his foot while simultaneously pulling on their arm, throwing them onto the ground. He then put his weight onto their back and held their arm, pulling out a kunai with his other hand. He pulled the hood off of the figure and put the kunai to their throat.

He analyzed the person quickly. It was a girl with blonde hair, her eyes were an off green, and her mouth was curled into a twisted smile as she was just looking up at the Hokage’s office.

Kana Inuzuka
Flickering candles blew silently against the breeze that past through the Hokage's office, illuminating the stacks of papers on his desk. Messages, missions, supplies, strategies, all forming a collective stack of toil that he labored at. Three dogs layed off on a large bed on the balcony, the largest having wrapped around the other two. Kana was jealous of them, their only break to their slumbering silence with the turning of a yet another page or opening of another folder.

Kana stopped, something bothering him. The candlelight continued to flicker, the faint breeze still gently nipping his hair, and every so often a dog's nap would break with a snore. Something else, Kana's eyes watched as a figure drew in and formed from the shadows of the room. 'Genjutsu,' Kana quickly moved his hands into a sign, attempting to break the flow.

"Don't bother." The voice came out as many, various pitches and sources culminated into one that echoed around the room. "You're going to open your eyes Hokage, you will see how serious our demands are." Appearance wise the figure was random, various symbols and signs along their clothes from the lands. Meeting eyes showed a miasma of colors, each blink changing them. Kana relented with his eyes, instead focusing on moving his papers to reveal a scroll.

"Even now you move to eliminate me, because you see us as an enemy. Instead of what we truly are," The figure paused, if any expression got through the powerful jutsu it was the smile clearly seen. "Hope, peace, and the truth." Kana kept his stoic stare, hands barely moving as he unrolled the papers. "I thought you'd at least indulge me Hokage, but I suppose your more a man of action anyways. Allow me to make the first move then."

Kana bit down on his finger as quickly as he could, unfurling the scroll on his desk as he did so. It was too fast, the genjutsu dropped and whatever summon Kana was attempting to call was lost as the office was turned to rubble. A body fell, Kana only able to make out a few things before the body brightened with tags and then exploded. Thrown out the balcony behind him, sheets of plans and maps burning like falling ash around him; Kana hit the street and layed limp.

Kitsune Touga
Before Kitsune could say anything, his eyes followed the unknown Shinobi’s gaze to the Hokage’s office. He saw the faint glimmer of light from candles, and he could barely make out the outline of Hokage Kana Inuzuka sitting at his desk. Kitsune heard the Shinobi under him speak softly.

“You’ll see soon. We will bless you with the vision of the future,” she said calmly. Kitsune’s gaze began to make it’s way to her, but before it fully left the view of the Hokage, a brief flash of light drew his attention back to the Hokage’s office, only to see nothing but rubble. He then heard the explosion and felt the air around him reverberate from the sound. The light from the explosion illuminated one body as it fell to the ground, hitting the street. Kitsune’s body tensed as his mind processed what was happening. He looked back down at the Shionbi underneath him. She was now looking back up at Kitsune with a wild smile. A surge of adrenaline hit Kitsune just as he saw the light from the paper bomb inside her cloak.

Kitsune pushed back as hard as he could just before the paper bomb detonated. The explosion blew him back and he hit the wall of the building behind him, knocking the breath out of his lungs. As the smoke cleared, Kitsune saw through blurred vision as the two ANBU that were following him rushed to his aid. He waved them off aggressively, pointing down the road.

“The Hokage!” he shouted, and without another word they turned to see the limp body on the street, darting down the road. Kitsune let out a grunt as he forced himself on his side and pushed himself up, the impact leaving him immediately sore. He looked at the walls of the village, and to his horror saw unknown Shinobi leaping over the walls by the dozens.

“We’re under attack,” Kitsune croaked with what voice he had. He turned to the two ANBU down the street.

“We’re under attack!” he yelled to them, a sharp pain emanating from his ribs as he did so. Broken, he thought as he put his hand on them, turning back to where he saw the ninja hopping over the walls. He estimated almost a hundred came over, and there were a handful at the end of the street Kitsune was on. He prepared himself for the oncoming fight, trying to draw his attention away from the sharp pain in his ribs.

Left to Right: Daichi, Aito, and Hana Kanno
Location: Daichi and Hana are headed to the Village Clinic.
Daichi sat up in his bed with a gasp as he heard the distant explosion. He remained in his bed, wondering if he had only been dreaming when a second detonation startled the genin into jumping to his feet. The blanket fell down his legs to his squishy bedroll. His bare feet pitter-pattered across the wooden floor as he raced over to his bedroom door. Upon opening it, he stepped back in startle to see his father leaving with a pack of bandana-wearing dogs. There were dogs following behind Aito of various sizes and breeds. One of the smaller dogs, a pug looked at Daichi and flashed him an excited grin.

Daichi blinked blankly before he asked his father, “I heard explosions. Are we being attacked?”

Aito’s low voice was heard as he didn’t once look back at his son, he said simply, “Protect your mother.”

The jonin calmly and quietly left with his panting dogs. Daichi raced over to his parents’ room and peered inside to see his mother sitting before the vanity mirror and tying up her long, crimson hair. He knew that she only did that when she was going to work.

“Are you going to fight because if you are, then I’m going. ’Tochan said I should protect you,” Daichi informed with a clenched fist.

Hana’s pink lips curled into a smile. “Did he now? Then you can come with me to the clinic. A battle always leaves injuries. You can help me protect the patients.”

Daichi nodded firmly. “Right. I’ll go get ready pronto!”

The genin turned and raced back to his bedroom to don his ninja gear.

Aito Kanno

The jonin had a cigarette between his lips as he darted from rooftop to rooftop in a bounding blur along with eight ninken bounding behind him. The roofs sailed beneath the shinobi as though he were flying and barely touching the shingles. He dropped within an alley and his feet connected with the side of a building. Aito ran horizontally across it, his body parallel to the ground. One of the ninken, a beagle sniffed the air and uttered a Burf! in warning. Aito kicked off the wall into a side-flip and landed in a crouch in the middle of the alley.

Soaring above his head was one of the invading ninja, absently bounding across the rooftops toward the reported target location. Aito’s left hand was a blur with hand seals. Well-timed, as soon as the ninja passed directly above him, he extended his hand into the sky and muttered passed his cigarette: “Lightning Release: Lightning Rod, Reverse.”

The enemy shinobi’s eyes shot downwards when he suddenly sensed the chakra. From the ground up through Aito’s feet and body, a bolt of lightning surged upwards to tag the enemy ninja. The ninja cried out as his body flashed violently. He briefly went limp in the air as he fell toward Aito. Discreetly, his hand went to a kunai secretly hidden in his clothing. The ninja’s body blurred and vanished in thin air.

The ninja reappeared behind Aito with the kunai thrust for his back. Four ninken erupted from the earth to snag the ninja’s limbs as Aito raised his right leg, bending it at the knee, and leaned forward to thrust his foot back toward the ninja’s chin. The enemy ninja’s head snapped backward as Aito’s foot slammed into his chin and cracked some of his teeth.

“Aaugh!” the enemy ninja rasped. The ninken had released him to allow him to stagger backwards. Aito retracted his leg and executed a twirl. He whirled toward the enemy ninja, jumping into the air to trap his head between his legs. The momentum carried him around as the enemy ninja’s neck resounded with a loud snap. When Aito had dropped from his shoulders, the ninja’s head was facing the wrong direction as his body dropped to its knees and then collapsed over onto its...well, where its face should have been.

Burf! Burf! the beagle came again.

Rocketing up from the earth were two shinobi with chains. The chains coiled around Aito, locking his arms against his sides. The two enemy shinobi were grinning victoriously when a cloud of gray smoke burst around Aito. The ninken bolted away in a blur as the smoke faded to reveal a log with a kunai embedded in it with an explosive tag attached. The enemy shinobis' eyes swelled in horror before the alley detonated with a loud bang!

Hanna Kanno

Hana was traveling with her son toward the clinic. Her red hair had been tied into a round bun, high on the back of her head. She wore a grey flak jacket that jutted outwards at her chest area. Beneath it, she wore a black, long-sleeved shirt with flowing bell sleeves, and around her neck she wore her headband. Daichi moved swiftly with his mother, hopping along and trying to keep a look out for any bad guys.

This is kinda’ scary, but…I’m feeling really excited at the same time! Daichi thought as he resisted the urge to cheese.

DAICHI!

Daichi’s blue eyes widened in surprise at his mother’s shriek. Never had he heard her cry in such horror. He glanced away from his mother to look above him at a giant fan.

“Heh, heh, watch where you’re goin’ kid!” the enemy ninja exclaimed. The fan swatted the genin and sent him plummeting to the ground in a strong gale. Daichi cracked the street on impact and bounced off as a gasp of air left his mouth. When he fell onto his side, he was dazed and startled. That hurt. It hurt a lot! Was someone trying to kill him? His blue eyes shrank in panic at the thought as he started to shake.

Hana landed against the wall of one of the homes and a large crack split around her landing in a ten-foot diameter circle. The stone fragmented and broke off in pieces. The angry mother rebounded off the house with her fist cocked back. “Don’t you ever attack my-”

The enemy ninja was floating in the air with the giant fan. He raised it in defense of the oncoming attack.

“SON!” Hana roared as her fist struck the fan and went straight through it as though it were rice paper. Her fist sank into the face of Daichi’s assailant. The enemy ninja’s face caved in around it with a spurt of blood. A shockwave of force exploded from the back of his skull as his head tipped back. The enemy ninja’s mouth fell open in unconsciousness as blood spilled from his nose and eyes. Hana’s fist opened to grasp his face as they started to plummet. With eyes wild in anger, Hana bellowed, “RAAAAAH!”

The kunoichi drove the enemy ninja’s skull toward the ground. When his head struck the street beneath her hand, the ground sank and fragments of cobble burst around it in a mixture of blood and brain. Hana rose wiping the blood on her pants leg as she glared daggers down at what was once her enemy.

Daichi was watching in stupefied awe. His mouth was hanging open as Hana turned to him and quickly went to his side. “Are you all right? Did you break anything?” She was coddling him, holding him against her ample bosom as though he were a kid.

Daichi growled and squirmed in her hold. “I’m fine! Kachan! You can’t do this. If Tochan saw you coddling me, he would be furious!”

Speaking of Tochan, standing on the roof behind them with his pack of ninken was Aito, gnawing the end of his cigarette in irritation. He had sensed the chakra of his beloved and of course rushed to her aid only to find…this.

“I thought I told you to protect your mother,” Aito growled.

Both Hana and Daichi froze and glanced in shock over their shoulders at Aito. In a flash, the two separated. A tear drop descended down the side of Aito’s head. Daichi held up his fists.

“We got attacked by enemy ninja! We’re on our way to the clinic to protect the patients.”

Hana smiled innocently. “He was so brave!”

Aito gave them both a disbelieving stare. “These ninja are strong. Stay close. I’ll keep them off your tail.”

Aito vanished with his dogs and Hana and Daichi released a pent up gasp of relief.

“Let’s hurry,” Hana urged.

Daichi nodded and the two leapt off toward the clinic.

The late nights had always been quiet at the Onigake home, two apartments separated by a small hallway and a door, and just below that was ‘Onigake Ramen’, one of the many ramen shops that littered the market district of Konohagakure. They had closed only three hours prior, well aware of the late night crowd that would love a bowl of ramen to quench their appetite. As usual, Aragi had been the one to close up, wanting to give his mother some extra time to rest and recuperate after a long day of work, while Arami wasn’t old she certainly wasn’t the type to admit when she was worn out, and it was that attitude that worried her son. When the Chunin had finally gotten a chance to sleep, it had only been thirty minutes after midnight, leaving him with not much time before the inevitable explosion.

BOOM! The explosion that went off had made Aragi immediately roll out of bed, and without a word, began putting on his gear. The flak jacket came first, easily sliding his arm through the sleeve holes and quickly slipping into his tabi footwear. Next were the arm wraps, which stretched all the way up to the top of his forearm just below the elbow, and finally his red ankle weights. Gotta take every chance I can to improve. Just as the young man had finished his preparations, opening the window to leap out and see what was going on, Arami had opened the door to his room and walked in. “What’s going on? I heard an explosion…” The woman had appeared tense, gripping onto the blankets she had wrapped around her, sweat visibly shining off of her forehead. She was concerned for her boy. The Chunin looked back at her and smiled, “Stay in the house Ma. I’ll take care of it.” Arami reached out to her son as he began to climb out of the window. “But…” He turned back toward her, eyes sharp and brows furrowed, a much more serious expression than before. “Stay inside Ma. Lock the doors and don’t answer the door for anyone. I’ll come get you when it's safe.” He holds out his pinkie with a large grin on his face, “Promise.” With a deep breath, Arami enlocks her pinkie with his. “Be safe Aragi.” The man nods before closing the window behind him and vanishing in front of his mother’s eyes. It was time to get to work.

Aragi had begun running across the rooftops, surveying the area around him to try and find something he can help with. First thing’s first I gotta find out where that explosion happened…Quickly, the chunin focused his chakra into his feet and dashed forward at a much higher speed than he was before, leaping over obstacles and sliding under signs that had been in his way. Just as the billowing smoke had come into his view, several kunai had been thrown at the ground in front of him, forcing him to stop in his tracks. Looking around he saw nothing, but he could feel them lurking in the shadows. Immediately cracking his knuckles, he stood in a fighting stance, prepared for what was to come. Leaping out of the shadows of a nearby building, a white haired man landed in front of him, dark sharpened eyes staring him down. “You’re not gettin’ past me.” Without a second thought, Aragi immediately rushed toward the man, quickly throwing two left jabs and a right hook, then immediately swapping his stance and executing two right jabs and a left hook. The white haired shinobi quickly held up his guard, blocking the first two jabs and weaving the hook, but was thrown off guard by the brown haired man’s immediate follow up, barely weaving past the two right jabs but was caught by the hook. As the unknown shinobi stumbled back Aragi quickly crouched down to go for a leg sweep, but was stopped as the white haired man lifted his leg and stomped directly on his ankle, sending a harsh pain up the chunin’s leg, immediately followed up by a swift kick to the face. Rolling backward into a crouching position, the young man quickly brushed the tip of his nose with his thumb, the sting of the man’s kick still fresh on his face. Chuckling, he returned to his fighting stance, “You’re good… Really thought I had ya there.” The man’s face held a cocky smirk, “Did I not tell you you wouldn’t get past me?

“We’ll see about that.” Aragi once again charged forward, this time performing the Kei-ma Shift, leaping into the air and winding his leg back to kick his opponent. The white haired man stood still, arms raised ready to guard such an obvious attack, but was surprised when the chunin let the kick loose extremely early, only to be surprised when another kick landed directly on the back of his head, forcing him downward as the brown haired man began another assault. This time he grabbed onto his opponent’s head with both of his hands, winding up his back leg to drive his knee into the enemy’s face; however the white haired man knew this, raising his arms to guard against the strike. As Aragi tried to pull back his leg, his opponent, grabbed onto his raised leg, using his lowered and much more anchored position to lift the chunin into the air and then slam him on his back. Gritting his teeth, the brown haired man lifted his knees up into his chest and launched them forward just as his opponent was trying to get atop him, pushing the shinobi back and allowing him the chance to get on his feet. Taking a deep breath, the two stared each other down. This was going to be a long night.

*Note: Aragi is identified as Crimson Red and the unknown shinobi is BOLD*

Once in a blue moon, Rai was sleeping at home and this was one of those times although it always looked like she wasn't home. Her bed wasn't touched, since Rai was asleep in the rafters and in her shinobi gear. She was mid sleep when she was woken up by a loud explosion and by the time the sound of the explosion finished, Rai had already slipped out a convenient window and was speeding across the rooftops. "That didn't sound good, gotta get there quickly" She thought to herself letting her natural speed carry her, making sure she had all her chakra in case of a fight. She leaped from building to building, sometimes using her kusarigama to run along the side of the building. Then she finally saw the smoke finally rising "There we go, now just gotta get over there" Rai said as she started to pile on the speed and as she jumped to the next building she heard multiple whistling sounds and as she landed, she rolled to the side, as three shurikens landed where she was, she looked around and couldn't immediately see anyone so she threw a shuriken at the shadow areas around. "Wow, your pretty good" A womans voice said as her figure stepped out from the shadows holding Rai's shuriken in between her fingers her face also covered by a mask which caused Rai to simply go "Tch" She then pulled out her Kusarigami, it's chain going wild around her, Rai using her jutsu to keep her weapon floating and spinning around her "Let's get this over quickly" Rai said without any emotion in it

"Ooh, cocky aren't we?" The girl said "Let's see how cocky you are after your dead" The other girl said who started rushing forward, as she pulled out a short sword and threw the sword at Rai who simply let him pass through her chain and passed beside "Try a bit harder than that a bit please." Rai said as she threw her own weapon around the girl "Wow are you stupid, because you just threw your only weapon." Rai said as she pulled on the chain and wrapped it around the woman keeping her tied up "Oh did I really?" The woman said before she disappeared in a puff of smoke, Rai's eyes widened as her chains dropped and she started to dodge and as she did she saw a sword starting to cut through her clothes, Rai dashed forward quickly to prevent the sword from actually cutting her "Wow, your quite fast" The girl said "and your just annoying" Rai retorted back "Now just get on the ground and stay there so I can go check out the explosion" Rai said as she recollected the chains "Ooh yeah no can do, the boss said nobody can go there" The girl continued, Rai smirked underneath her mask as her hands turned into a blur of hand symbols "I wonder are you fast enough to catch up to lightning?" Rai asked with the other girl tilted her head in confusion "What are you talking about? Of course I'm not fast enough to catch lightning." The girl said "Excellent, we shall continue this battle later Lightning Release: Lightning Transformation Technique" Rai said her whole body crackling with lightning before to turning into lightning bouncing off buildings and towards the smoke "Ooh that's not good, how was I suppose to know she was going to run. Oh this will be an easy job, none of these guys run away from a fight, well guess what the one I had to fight ran away" The girl complained to herself as she ran back to the smoke as well

Kiyoshi Renku
Kiyoshi abruptly found himself awake in his bed, unaware of what woke him. He sat up, mind in a slight turmoil as he tried to understand why he woke up. He heard commotion from the main hall of his home - a fairly large complex adjacent to where the Hyuga clan's sector resides, just to the north. Kiyoshi slowly rose out of bed as he heard the commotion continue - it was his father scrambling around as he spoke to Kiyoshi's mother in a stressed and confused tone of voice. Kiyoshi couldn't quite make out everything his father was saying, but heard enough to know that his father was leaving to investigate something and his mother was to stay at the house with Kiyoshi. His father must have thought he was still asleep. But what woke me up in the first place? Kiyoshi wondered.

Kiyoshi headed to the doorway of his room, and just before emerging into the main hall he heard the door to the main hall quickly slide open, and footsteps go running out, before the door was slid back shut. The young Shinobi emerged into the main hall to see his mother standing at the door with her head down with one hand still on the handle of the door.

"Mom, what's going on?" Kiyoshi asked timidly. The sound of her son's voice caused her head to snap up towards Kiyoshi. Her face held a comforting expression, but her white eyes showed worry and fear. Her hand dropped from the door handle as she turned to Kiyoshi and began to slowly make her way to him, that unconvincing smile on her face every step of the way.

"I don't know, Kiyoshi. I'm sure everything's alright. Your father's gone to see what's happened, he'll be back before too long," she said, her voice mimicking her face in that it tried to be reassuring, but the uncertainty found its way through. Just as she finished, Kiyoshi heard the sound of more footsteps. Then voices: some confused, some determined, some angry. He heard the footsteps get louder - as if whoever was running began to run harder - then he heard the clashing of metal. It didn't take long for Kiyoshi and his mother to recognize the sounds of combat. Pure chaos in the street no more than a hundred meters from where they were standing. Any sense of comfort in Kiyoshi's mother's face had been replaced with worry. She grabbed Kiyoshi's hand and began leading him to another room.

Before she could get fully into the other room, the door slid open forcefully and a man wearing tight black clothing and his mouth covered walked confidently into the home. He made eye contact with Kiyoshi just as his mother tried to pull him out of view. She was too late.

"Well now, no point in hiding. Best to make this as quick as we can," the man said in a moderately deep and scruffy voice. He was dragging his words out, adding to the eerie feeling of being hunted, though there was no hunting. Kiyoshi and his mother were already cornered, and he knew exactly where they were. Kiyoshi held his breath as he heard the man's footsteps draw slowly to the room they were in. It felt like he was stomping harder and walking slower just to add effect. Every step that Kiyoshi heard was mirrored by a small gasp from his mother. The young Shinobi noticed that his mother was holding onto his wrist so tightly his fingers were starting to go numb, and as he looked down and noticed his mother had already grabbed a knife and was holding it just as tight, if not tighter.

Just as the man's figure began to appear in the doorway, Kiyoshi felt his mother drop his wrist and saw her lunge forward towards the menace. Kiyoshi watched the knife travel directly at the man's heart as the man still hadn't even started to move away from the lunge. For a moment, Kiyoshi thought his mom may actually be able to succeed... But that thought faded just as quickly as it came. The man swiftly stepped to the side, the knife flying right past his body. His hand shot out, grabbing the woman's wrist tightly and twisting. The knife fell from Kiyoshi's mother's hand just as the man forcibly turned her body and grabbed her by the throat. He pushed her against the wall, lifting her feet off the ground.

"Hmph. Nice try, but no dice," the man said with a smirk, "Don't worry, I'll make it quick for the kid."

Kiyoshi watch in horror as his mother did what she could to fight off the man, all in vain. His heartbeat pounded loudly in his ear, and without thinking Kiyoshi grabbed the knife his mother once held. He held it up with two hands, all of his time in training completely out the window because of his state of fear and panic. He charged at the man, but just before he was to hit, the man used his free hand to draw a kunai knife and stop the knife still. Kiyoshi's mother's flailing was starting to get weaker at this point, and the man turned his head to meet Kiyoshi's gaze.

"Little punk-" the man was interrupted by the half-scream, half-grunt of Kiyoshi's panicked breath as his chakra funneled into the knife, the wind-based chakra infusing with the blade. The knife itself did nothing, but the chakra flowing around it managed to cut the man's finger, at which point the man winced and jumped back, dropping Kiyoshi's mother. Kiyoshi wasn't finished, his panic forcing adrenaline through his entire body and his voice boomed into full force yelling as the kid slashed wildly at the intruder. The blade never made contact, but the unstable wind chakra did. Ripping through the man's clothes and leaving small slash marks on his abdomen and chest. After a few strikes, the man's shock faded and he managed to get a grip on the situation. He grabbed Kiyoshi's arm in one hand and his throat in the other. He twisted Kiyoshi's wrist until he was also forced to drop the knife, then lifted the boy as he grabbed another kunai knife from his tool bag.

"Alright, you brat, I guess it's you first," he said, this time his smirk was nonexistent, his voice held only anger. Kiyoshi looked out of the corner of his eye to see his mother still on the ground, conscious, but unable to move. The man held his knife far back, and prepared to lunge.

"Shize, come. We've got a mission to complete," a voice emerged from the doorway. The intruder's hand stopped quickly. His shoulders dropped, and he dropped the young boy to the ground without a word. The fear in Kiyoshi prevented him from moving as he hit the ground. The intruder walked slowly to the door, almost as if he was a young child who just got caught stealing. The two men walked out the door, but a moment after there was the sound of something landing on the ground and a few dull thuds. Another man ran into the building.

"Kiyoshi!" his father yelled, running to the young boy's side. "Are you okay?"

"Father..." was the only word Kiyoshi could muster before the sobs surface, tears streaming down his face. The man pulled his son up by the hand and walked over to his wife, picking her up and putting her over his shoulder.

"Come on, Kiyoshi. We're going to the infirmary. We'll all be safer there."

Hikari Dageki
Status: Alarmed, But still her usual self
Location: The Streets, To Haruki and Otoro's house

A loud booming sound interruted Hikari's slumber, making the chunin jolt awake and sit up on her bed as she groaned at the thought of having to leave her good night sleep that she needed and enjoyed. 'Since I'm awake, might as well check it out' She thought to herself as she quickly slipped on her weapons pouch and tied her headband on her leg before jumping out the window into the dark streets of Konoha. Whatever the caused the explosion, it was definitely not for a good reason, she thought. She had to keep it low, in case there were enemies around.

Jumping from rooftop to rooftop seemed risky so Hikari stuck to the shadows and let a water clone do the roof jumping instead. She planned on checking if her siblings, Haruki and Otoro were alright while the water clone stayed in the shadows, ready to assist if things got rough and then later check out whatever caused the explosion. However, her plans were interrupted when the clone fell out of the roof by a kick to the stomach, thankfully not taking much damage from the fall since it was a small house. The clone had only managed to get into a sitting position when the attacker, a brown haired man, jumped at her with a kunai in both hands. Clone Hikari blocked the attack with her own kunai, both putting force into the blades.

"You're tough" Clone Hikari said before kicking the unknown ninja in the stomach and pushing him away in the process, making him stumble backwards and giving Real Hikari time to come up from behind and sweep her leg beneath his, making him fall. Hikari then stood over him with a smirk "But I'm faster" She then knocked him out with a hard hit from the back of her kusarigama.

Once he passed out, Hikari sighed and grabbed anything that seemed to identify her attacker before looking around for something that could work as a rope. She didn't find anything so she put im in a genjutsu instead before continuing her way to her sister's house. Hikari's eyes narrowed at the thought of her siblings being in danger.

"You two better be alright."

The distant sounds of explosions had woken Lunae. Stretching her arms and yawning she got up out of her loft. Why did something have to ruin her beauty sleep?
The comfy bed of a daughter of the head of a clan was just great. Not that her life was honestly great. But that wasn't important right now.

Honestly explosions? At 3 AM? Somebody was just asking for stupidity.
Where were her squadmates? Probably in the same situation. She had to wake up her family.
Heading into another room of the rather large home, (Perks of being a heiress of a clan) She managed to find her parents room.
Pushing up against them she tried to wake them up.
"Mom! Dad! I heard explosions! Wake up." She said nudging them repeatedly.
They didn't budge at all. It didn't seem like they were going to wake up.

Then it seemed Lunae had no choice but to go out and investigate herself. Hopefully Konoha wasn't under attack which she was pretty sure was exactly what was happening.
Heading out to the streets, she noticed strange people over the rooftops of the clan grounds. They definitely weren't Lunaekyo so they shouldn't have been here to begin with.
What was happening? Some kind of uprising? She didn't recognize them. She easily knew every single face of the people in this area.
Ofcourse. I got to handle this. Why am I always cleaning up messes caused by other people. Sheesh.
She ran up the walls of her own home and headed to the rooftop. She didn't really see any other option than try to stop these people.

Well then. Perhaps this would be a good time for her to use her ice jutsu....

Sensõ Iyasu

Iyasu viewed the chaos from the rooftop of his family home, a quaint cottage on the outer edge of the village. Usually, the building stood proudly alongside the walls of the village. But instead, it was currently resting against the wall for support. For a moment, in the time immediately following the detonation of several paper bombs throughout the village, the building had seemed to wail painfully into the silent night through the gaping hole left in it's side.

It was then that all hell had broken loose, enemy Shinobi scaling the wall dozens at a time. Hidden Leaf Ninja, quick to respond to the threat, clashed with the enemy at every turn. Ranging from Jounin to even the Genin, they defended their home with all of their strength.

“What do you plan to do?”

She likely already knew the answer, but she asked the question regardless. Behind him was his mother, Sensõ Ai, who had probably stopped to check on him on her way to the clinic.

“I’ll move fast, take out as many as I can without being caught up in a direct fight. Go on, make sure your patients are safe"

Giving just the smallest of nods, she turned and leapt from the roof. She would reach the clinic quickly, as long as she wasn’t swept up in a fight with the enemy.

The sound of a glass shattering within his home gained Iyasu's attention, and he ducked quickly inside. His mother having just left, it could only be an enemy ninja within.

“Come on out Ai” a pale woman with dark blue hair stalked slowly through the building, taking great care to knock over every object she passed. “I swear; all I want to do,” she forced the door to Ai's bedroom open with a powerful guest of wind, concluding her sentence in a menacing tone as she stepped through the doorway; “is tear your throat out"

Uzumaki Keiko, a traitor to the Hidden Leaf that had vanished before Iyasu had been born. She and his mother had a history, and enough bad blood to fill an ocean. When Ai found out she had been in their home, she would wish she had stayed behind a moment longer.

Finding not her despised rival, but instead the woman's son asleep in the bed, Keiko was delighted at the opportunity to cause Ai the grief that comes only with the loss of a child. Practically dancing over to the bed, the crazy woman grabbed a kunai and drove it into the young man's wooden chest.

As thick vines trapped the woman's hands within the chest of the wood clone, Iyasu pounced from the ceiling in the corner and took out the woman with a swift slash of his chakra scalpel. Released from his Clone’s trap, Keiko's body flopped onto the floor. His home clear, Iyasu moved on to find another enemy isolated from the rest.

As he leapt from the hole in the side of his home, an enemy Shinobi tackled him. The two plummeted together to the earth, where the enemy ground Iyasu's face into the dirt before spring boarding back to a distance. Climbing to his feet, Iyasu shot the invader a glare.

The enemy was a tower of a man whose lack of a shirt revealed a lean, muscular build. He seemed to favor Taijutsu, which was sure to give him an edge in a fight against Iyasu who, as a healing-nin and an assassin, favored a deceptive approach rather than an outright brawl. The ANBU's best chance for victory was the Byakugan, and even then he was at a disadvantage. Once Iyasu had adjusted his forehead protector to cover his left eye and activated his Byakugan, the two assumed their fighting stances.

Kitsune Touga
The men down the street from Kitsune kept their eyes locked with his for what Kitsune felt was a lifetime. He tried to read anything from their gaze, but his attempts were met only with determination. Determination of what? Kitsune couldn't be sure. All he knew was that these shinobi were dead-set on accomplishing their goal, whatever it may be. Then, they started running towards him. Three in total, the other four seemed to be trying to go around him. He scanned them as they charged him, looking for anything to identify them by. Two of them had Land of Lightning headbands, but the symbols were marked out, and one of them had clothing Kitsune knew was from the Land of Hot Water, but no headband. Kitsune suppressed the sharp pain in his side, preparing himself for a fight against unknown opponents

"Water Style: Tearing Torrent!" the water-based chakra pooled in his hand, creating a small spiraling ball of water that ejected from his hand towards the group of three running at him. Their column split as they moved to avoid the water sphere, but just as it approached the middle of the group...

"Water Style: Liquid Shrapnel!" the ball of water exploded, sending small shards of water all over the street, including at the three Shinobi approaching Kitsune. They were caught off guard, hit by the shrapnel, but the attack didn't have enough power to severely damage them. The Shinobi stumbled, attempting to regain their focus after the disorienting blast of water.

"Heh, is that all you've got?" the one in the front mocked, a confident grin on his face. He was still relatively unharmed, but he was soaked in water, and so were his allies.

Kitsune dashed forward without a word, deciding he had no time to banter with his opponent. The front Shinobi wasn't caught off guard, bringing his arm up to defend against Kitsune's fist. His left hand made contact with the man's right arm, and the man's eyes opened wide as the sharp pain and subsequent numbness ran all the way up his arm and into his torso, caused by the burst of lightning-infused chakra from Kitsune’s hand. He couldn't even move his body as Kitsune's right hand slammed into his gut, causing a massive muscle spasm in the man's abdomen. The man fell to his knees, attempting to gasp for air but a paralyzed diaphragm preventing him from doing that.

Kitsune danced around the first man, analyzing the two other men who were still quickly approaching him. The water at the second man's feet came together to form a whip, the handle of which rested in Kitsune's right hand. The whip snapped up around the man's left leg just as Kitsune yanked it back. The man's leg came out from under him and he did a partial flip in the air before hitting the ground. The whip untangled itself from his leg just as the third Shinobi swung her kunai at Kitsune. He dropped to his knees and slid under the kunai, snapping the water whip around the woman's arm. He woman braced herself, pulling against the whip in an attempt to prevent Kitsune from pulling her. It only took a split second for the lightning traveling through the water whip to cause the woman to shriek in pain as her legs gave out from underneath her. The whip lost its form, the shapeless water fell back to the ground. Kitsune's foot connected with the woman's jaw, her eyes immediately glossing over as she lost consciousness.

The second Shinobi was starting to get back up, while the first seemed to finally have some semblance of control over his abdominal muscles. Kitsune's right hand reached down and grabbed three kunai, tossing two of them towards the first Shinobi. Before the kunai even connected, Kitsune was dashing towards the second opponent. Kitsune's kunai clashed with the now-drawn kunai of his opponent, but the fight was cut short quickly as the sound of metal clashing echoed two too many times. The kunai he had thrown at the first ninja had been deflected by one of the Shinobi that seemed to be going around Kitsune. Before he could react, another of the ninja had grabbed Kitsune's left arm. Kitsune pulled away, but the Shinobi he had already been fighting managed to get ahold of his right, too. They twisted and pushed him to his knees.

"Really gave us a run for our money..." the first Shinobi said, standing up weakly as he struggled to maintain what control he had over his spasming muscles. He drew a kunai and began walking towards Kitsune. Kitsune pulled against the two enemies holding him, but their leverage on him prevented him from being able to pull away. The man made his way towards Kitsune, but just as he lunged towards the subdued man, Kitsune yanked hand against the two men holding his arms, then pushed forward as hard as he could. The men, trying to stop Kitsune from pulling away from them, were taken aback by him pushing towards them and were unable to stop his palms from making contact with their chests. Kitsune then swung his now freed hand around towards the lunging opponent, pushing the kunai away from his body, and grabbed the blade with his other hand. He slammed his fist into the man’s elbow, breaking it and allowing Kitsune to redirect the kunai directly into the man’s chest.

Kitsune stumbled as one of the Shinobi that had been subduing him connected their fist with his side. The pain from his broken rib shattered his focus for a moment, just long enough for the other enemy to catch Kitsune off guard with her kunai as she swung it towards his face. His hand reflexively snapped up and grabbed the kunai by the blade, stopping it less than an inch from his eye. Kitsune gritted his teeth, sending lighting through the kunai into the woman as he activated his Sharingan. He debated internally whether he should be disappointed that he had been pushed this far, or impressed that his opponents were skilled enough that he needed to activate his Kekkei Genkai.

The rest of the fight happened in a flash. Of the remaining three Shinobi, only two could actively fight, due to the woman being incapacitated by her muscle spasms. The first of the two swung his kunai at Kitsune, but before his blade had even reached its destination Kitsune had already evaded and counter attacked, pushing his hand into the man’s chest and delivering an excessive amount of lightning directly to the man’s heart. The other man received a swift kick to the stomach, causing him to bend down directly into the path of Kitsune’s other leg as he spun to deliver a downward kick to the man’s head. He was unconscious before he hit the ground. The woman began to stand up from her knees, looking up at Kitsune as her numb body fought against her efforts. It was in vain, though, for the moment that her eyes met Kitsune’s, she was met with a lightning-infused strike to her chest, causing blood to spurt out of her mouth as she lost consciousness.

“Hmph. As weak as I thought,” Kitsune heard from the rooftop. He looked up, seeing one of the another two ninja. One was standing on the edge, as if he was about to jump off, while the other was standing back a bit. The one standing back had a symbol of an eye on the cloak he wore, right on his chest. The iris was yellow, and drew Kitsune’s gaze. The front one prepared to jump, but he was grabbed by the man behind him.

“We don’t have time to deal with him. Subdue him and lets get on to collecting the artifact,” the man said, seeming to be the leader of the two, maybe more. The lesser one grumbled, stepping back from the edge as he put his fingers up to his mouth without weaving a hand symbol. Kitsune braced himself but couldn’t defend himself from what seemed to be a web that shot out of the man’s mouth with such force it knocked Kitsune to the ground with a loud grunt. Looking through the web, he saw that the two men had already gone.

Kitsune struggled against the web for a moment to free his hand, but once he did the gentle fist technique made short work of the web, freeing him quickly. It was too late to pursue the men, though, they had already vanished. Kitsune was jerked back to reality as he recounted the events of the past minute. His head snapped up and looked back down the street to where he saw the Hokage laying. He was now sitting up, with one of the two Bear ANBU with him. Kitsune ran to the Hokage’s side. He was conscious, but obviously dazed. Before Kitsune could ask him a question, the second Bear ANBU came running from the rubble of the Hokage’s office.

“One of their squads has stolen the Scroll of Seals and are running!” the ANBU Member shouted. Kitsune gritted his teeth. Was that what they were after, or was this attack meant to steal more than one thing?

“Gather a squad together and go after them, leave markings to guide us if we manage to follow,” Kitsune ordered, “take two others with out, I’ll leave who to you.” The ANBU member nodded before his body vanished into a puff of smoke. Kitsune turned back to the Hokage.

“Lord Kana, are you alright?” the concern evident on his voice.

Quickly making hand signs, Lunae had quickly formed the Frost Flower Jutsu. a beam of frost shot outwards from her mouth shooting towards one of the people on the rooftops.
Now on the rooftop herself she was able to make out how many there were. There were three people and they seemed older than her by quite abit. The frost beam shoot towards one of them before one man had pulled out a giant fan and blocked the attack.
Well that sucked. They seemed like they were all male. And well one of her best attacks didn't exactly do anything.

Given her situation it probably would be best to run. One of the man must've been thinking the same thing and jumped over her and landed behind her.
"You picked the wrong fight girlie." He said.
It seemed she would have to fight her way out of this to stay alive.
Lifting her scythe she prepared to take on all three of the assailants alone in the dark.

Which one was the weakest and easiest to take out fully? She would need to be conservative with her chakra if she was to survive this encounter.
She figured she could at least take one down and then find a opening to escape. She wasn't weak for a genin by any means as she was the daughter of a head of a clan.
She began twirling her scythe to perform Spinning Scythe Breeze. Hoping to knock away one of the enemies with the wind created by the technique.
"Spinning Scythe Breeze" She shouted.
Large winds began to form almost in a sort of tornado knocking away the enemy behind her.

On one of the rooftops the hectic night was becoming cold and still, bits of ice still raising from the ground of the first frostbitten attack of the victim. The three shinobi didn’t seem deterred by the beam of ice, still approaching the girl with weapons drawn. A fan, sword, and club surrounded the now spinning scythe, each waiting for their opportunity. It came as the wind furrowed and then exploded outwards, the fan wielder taking the brunt of the wind backwards, but leaving the other two in position to attack.

“Good try kid, but you came up short.” The sword meant to cut the midsection and club to deliver a mighty blow to the head.

“Crystal Release: Growing Crystal Thorns!” Two pillars of ruby crystal burst through the structure, forcing the assailants to backstep or be impaled. The pillars turned suddenly, each one chasing after the men as they hastily retreated. The club wielder wasn’t quick enough, garnering a pillar to smash him into the adjacent building. Fast enough to evade the pillar, the sword user moved under the crystals and was able to spot the one using them.

Jumping from roof to roof, crystal still forming in tree like branches in an attempt to stab or crush him, the shinobi continued to maneuver closer to the user. Taking the blade in his mouth and making four hand signs, the shinobi smiled through clenched teeth. Abruptly turning into the crystals his hand lit with fiery electricity, “Lightning Release: Crimson Shock!”, pulverizing the incoming pillar until the user was wide open.

“Any last words, dead man!?” The vagrant dashed forward with a cackle, electricity now crackling in his poised blade as he moved with great speed. Covering the gap in between the buildings and following as the man back pedaled, the renegade finally thrust with intent to kill. “Just one,” The masked Anbu stifled a chuckle, “Pocket Woman!” throwing out a small rock towards the man. The sword wielder only had a few moments until the realization hit him, literally, another leaf shinobi appeared from the rock and smashed the thug with an axe kick.

Deep breathes and a quick survey of the area, both of the shinobi jumped over to the rooftop with the genin on it. “Lunae, you alright?” Madoka spoke first, stepping past the crystals now breaking down and dispersing like dust in the wind. Madoka recognized the girl, another student at the academy, just not in her team. A cursory glance showed the girl was uninjured, but wasn’t safe here or alone.

“I hope not, we’re going to need the help.” The masked Anbu stepped forward, lowering his mask as he did so to hang loosely around his neck. “You know I can’t take her, you’re going to?” Madoka turned to her brother, already trying to read his plans. “I’m heading to the infirmary, she can help me with anyone along the way and I’m sure they can use the help there.” Takara nodded to Madoka, “Plus she’s up for it, Lunae?” Takara gave the girl a small wink before her response.

‘Ahhh, fuck everything hurts.’ Kana’s body pushed against the rubble on top of him, failing against its weight to slump once more under it. ‘Get up, you have to.’ Once more he pushed against the stone, this time halted by another nearby explosion as the shockwave was enough to pin him once more. However it was the calming after the explosions that Kana could hear the whimpering and calls of his partners, crying out with them with understanding. ‘Nooo!’ The stone slabs relented against the man as he pushed them off his back, finally freeing him as the Anbu arrived.

Dai, the largest of the Ninken in Kana’s company, had taken the brunt of the force. Burns and shrapnel littered his body, Kana carefully checked the pulse of the limp body. Shaking his head, Kana took a few deep breaths before turning to the Anbu members, “Check the artifacts and check on the Ninken” One taking off into the office while the other moved to the dogs. Kana sat down against the wall, attempting to collect himself for the moment. Avoiding the dogs, Kana’s eyes moved to the street as he watched Kitsune approach.

“I’m fine Kitsune,” Kana replied, watching as the other Anbu members followed their orders before turning back to his Ninken. By this point Dai and Nao had settled against Kana, both averting from their brother. “This was a large distraction, for more than just the scroll of sealing and I don’t think they are done. Kitsune you need to capture one, alive.”

Kana stood, struggling against his sore limbs as he prepared his signs. “If they leave with the artifacts it’ll be a huge loss, but if we gain nothing from this it will be pointless on all ends. I’ll send help around the village and help with the chase for the scroll, focus on your task.” The blood stained the ground as Kana finished his sign, “Summoning Jutsu: Hataro’s Flock!” Three owls, massive in size formed on the rooftops looking down on the group. The beginning of banter was starting, but a few looks around showed the severity. “Hataro, take the Ninken to the Inuzuka’s, they need attention. Hideyo you’re with me and Hiroshi take Kitsune, he’ll guide you.”

Hataro nodded, taking the pack in its claws before flying high above the battles below in silence. Hiroshi, noted by the large land of fire bandana hanging around its neck and the various fighting equipment from extended metal claws to a row of explosive papers across his chest. “Hold on tight, point me in the right place, and I’ll take care of the rest.” The deep voice came from the large barn owl as he fluttered down to the street, waiting for Kitsune to board.

Hikari Dageki
Status: Alarmed, But still her usual self
Location: Haruki and Otoro’s

The house was locked by the time Hikari got there. Smart on their part. Either they noticed the explosion or left the house. There were little to no signs of struggle outside and she couldn’t hear anything inside, but Hikari knew not to get her guard down yet. The kunoichi made her way to an unlocked window and quietly went in. It was dark inside, which was little problem for her since she knew the layout of the house. Some movement caught her eye and her guard was up, which was a good thing since a kick came flying her way, which she managed to block with her kusarigama, but had made her stumble and lose her balance. Followed by a leg slide, her attacker pointed a familiar blade at her neck. Hikari gulped and narrowed her eyes at the blade, and tried to see more of it before the blade touched her neck.

“I wouldn’t move if I were you” An all too familiar voice had said. Hikari broke into a grin “Otto Chan? Is that you?” The blade retracted and a hand was offered “Hikari? What are you doing here?” Hikari was lifted up and she dusted herself “Checking on you..Where’s Haruki?” Footsteps were heard and Hikari’s elder sister appeared and put on the lights. She looked worried.

“Well, speak of the devil” Not after Hikari made the comment, she was pulled into a hug by her sister, which she gladly returned. After their hug Haruki inspected her sister for wounds and they all went outside together “Where are you headed? The infirmary?” The eldest Dageki nodded “I want to make sure everyone is alright. Otoro is coming with me” Hikari smiled at the raven boy “I’ll go get some help. Take care of her will you?” He nodded and they went their separate ways.

Hikari made her way past many of her student’s houses and clan grounds, when a certain one caught her eye. Two figures were on the rooftop, but she couldn’t see their features thanks to the dark. What she could see was that one was holding something or someone.. Narrowing her eyes, Hikari stepped into the shadows and made handsigns, summoning a water clone which made an entrance with a kick towards the figure holding the person/thing.

Otoro Dageki
Status: Alarmed, Protective
Location: The Streets, To the infirmary

The way to the infirmary was currently quiet. There was no trace of enemies nearby, something Otoro enjoyed. Guarding Haruki wouldn’t be much of a problem if things kept on like that. The said Dageki was right beside him, jumping on rooftops with him, looking focused. A glint ahead caught his eye and he pushed Haruki out of the way, the katana grazing his cheek before he hit the floor. Hissing in pain, Otoro shakily stood up and helped Haruki up. The impact didn’t affect her much, thank goodness. “Well, aren’t you a gentleman?” A feminine voice some few feet behind him had said. Otoro looked over to his sister “Go, I’ll take care of her”
Haruki wasn’t convinced “But-“ “Just go! I won’t be able to take care of you if you’re fighting. The infirmary is close. Go!” The eldest Dageki hesitated, but decided to trust him on this one and left. Otoro and his attacker both got into fighting stances and stared each other down, waiting for the first move.

Okita Yonganken
Time: ~3 AM
Place: Her Home -> Streets

When the bombs went off and the sky was filled with the sounds of panic and fighting, Okita believed she was dreaming still. She believed she was still in a dream, a nightmare if any, and that everything would be over when she woke. Huddled in the corner of her room, covered in blankets and hugging her pillow, Okita tried to drown out the sounds. Tucking her head underneath a pillow, Okita closed her eyes in an effort to go back to sleep, or wake up, whichever came first. It was only when the window closest to her bed shattered and that a shard of glass cut her cheek did she realize this wasn't a dream. Bringing a hand to her cheek, she touched the blood welling up, feeling the red liquid coat her fingertips. It was by instinct that Okita rolled out of bed and activated the seals on her wrists containing her chains. As she brought herself to bear, Okita watched as an intruder came in through the window and proceeded to lunge at her.

Nimbly ducking out of the way, Okita swung an arm leveled at the man's neck, but he dodged and closed the gap. Blocking the punch to her kidney with her knee, Okita backstepped and rapidly went through hand seals. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Unleashing a torrent of flames that almost consumed her entire room, Okita watched emotionless as the man who tried to kill her was incinerated. Going to where there was once a wall (now a burnt hole in the side of a building), Okita jumped out into the night. Unsealing a scroll on her arm, Okita landed on a nearby roof and unraveling it, Okita unsealed her old ANBU armor with a quiet poof. Quickly placing it over her pajamas (a simple t-shirt and yoga pants combo), Okita hung her old mask on her belt. Continuing on her way, Okita encountered another enemy, this one on a rooftop.

She saw her pull a kunai from her dead comrades heart, and Okita felt rage, a controlled rage, but a rage nonetheless. Readying herself, Okita watched the woman turn to her. "Hopefully, you'll be more fun to play with!" the enemy bellowed out. Rushing forth, both met in the middle in a flurry of punches and kick. Blows were blocked and dodged, and the fighting continued as chaos reigned around. as Okita went in for a punch the enemy shinobi grabbed her arm and went for a grapple, but Okita, seeing this, grabbed the wrist of the arm grabbing her and threw her over her shoulder. Dropping the chains to let the blades of dangle, Okita swung out. Two slashes now marred the woman's chest, as Okita kept spinning and swinging. Trying to avoid the chains, the woman substituted with a log (praise be the log), and flashed out a jutsu.

"Lightning Style: Electromagnetic Murder!" As a wave of lightning arced towards Okita, she too called out her own jutsu. "Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!" A large wall of mud appeared and disrupted the jutsu. Jumping over the wall, Okita threw out one chain, impacting the shoulder of the woman she was fighting. With a growl of pain, the other chain soon found its way lodged into her other shoulder. "Damn you! Damn you Shackled Akuma!" she roared out as Okita pulled. The woman's body flew towards her as she crescent kicked her head, snapping her neck. Dislodging her chains from where they hooked into the shoulders, Okita continued along.

Hearing commotion below, Okita looked down to see one of her fellow teachers, Hikari, with her two siblings. She watched as Hikari exited, soon followed by Haruki and Otoro. Watching Otoro turn to confront the mysterious woman, she narrowed her eyes. She knew Otoro was trained by his sisters, but this wouldn't do. If he fell here, Okita wouldn't be able to live with herself, nor would she be able to confront Hikari or Haruki. Jumping from the roof with a soft rattle of chains, Okita landed besides Otoro. "Dageki..." she called out to him. "Stay behind me, and don't do anything stupid. We'll take her together, understood?"

Kitsune Touga
Kitsune nodded at the orders given to him. “Yes, Lord Hokage, as you wish,” he stated subserviently. He would have liked to follow the escapists that had the scroll, but he knew that he was uniquely qualified to capture an enemy alive. Not knowing the strength of his opponents, he knew it would be best to not go at his task alone. He had to find people capable of fighting and capturing an opponent alive.

His eyes darted around blankly, not particularly looking at anything, as his mind raced. It only took him a moment of thinking to decide he should just find who he can, and form a team out of them. He couldn’t risk putting too much faith into just happening to find who he wanted.

“Go up for now, get me an overview. I’ll see who I can, we’ll go from there,” Kitsune said as he climbed on Hiroshi. The owl made an affirming grunt before lifting off. Kitsune held on tight as the force of the massive owl flying tried to pull him off. He scanned quickly, noticing pockets of people - both ally and enemy - all around the portion of the village he could see. His eyes scanned each battle. Many of the enemy Shinobi seemed to have the upper hand in their battles, but some of the Elite Leaf Shinobi were balancing the invasion out as they dominated their opponents.

His grip tightened in frustration. He couldn’t be everywhere at once. He wanted to help the people in trouble, but if he stopped to help each and every one, he would never be able to accomplish his mission.

“Everything alright, Kitsune?” Hiroshi grumbled, feeling the grip tighten. The voice snapped Kitsune out of his frustrated daze, he scanned the village again, trying to ignore the frustration in the back of his mind as he continued to try to find someone useful to his goal. He noticed Hikari Dageki, recognizing her as one of Kiyoshi’s teachers during his time in the academy. He knew she had some skill in stealth, and her Storm Release would likely be useful should there be a big fight.

“Yeah. Hiroshi, take me to Hikari, that girl over there!” he said, releasing one of his hands to point towards Hikari, unaware that the figure he was pointing to was actually a water clone. The owl began flying quickly towards the girl, causing Kitsune to attempt to snap his hand back to gripping the owl. He lost most of his grip, though was able to hang on just barely. Hiroshi began to shake his back, and Kitsune lost what little grip he had left as he felt himself beginning to fall. Why would Hiroshi shake like that? He must’ve felt Kitsune almost lose his grip, why would he intentionally make Kitunse fall? Then, he felt the sharp talons of the weaponized claws close around his arms, safely holding him up without cutting him. Then, he realized it was intentional, Hiroshi was just making it easier to drop Kitsune with accuracy.

After he managed to get his heart back under control, he continued to surveil the landscape. Hikari wouldn’t be enough, they’d need more than just the two of them. Just as he thought that, he noticed another Shinobi: Okita Yoganken. He knew her from her time in the ANBU, though now she was a teacher just like Hikari. She would be almost a perfect fit on their team.

“Thanks for the catch, Hiroshi! Once you drop me off, I need you to get her and come back to me! Her name is Okita!” Kitsune shouted and pointed, the air bellowing in his ears and making it hard to hear. The look in Hiroshi’s eyes told Kitsune that he understood. Kitsune nodded silently and focused his eyes on the fight between Hikari and the figure that Kitsune couldn’t quite make out.
