Kazuo Senju
Team.. Uhh.. ^

"Hmm? Oh? So you've found me!" The jonin paused for a second leapt forwards from his spot in the middle of the room so desperate to kill him. he didn't bother to wait for them to come in, he threw open the door with gusto, the man now stareing happily at the three genin of his. "Ah, what lovely faces, good to see Kaito didn't drone on for too long. he does like his particulars at times... When he makes it on time anyways.

But, of course, I am as you might guess Kazuo Senju, by most accounts I gave up being a ninja due to loss of a leg, and decided to take up a storefront to make ends meet. I have a daughetr roughly about your age named Lyn." he beamed even more when he spoke about his daughter. "Now then, with my introduction out of the way, I shall let you perform yours.

We have a mission to be certain but fear not, it will be done in time. Lets get to know one another first." the man speaks quickly, WALKING backwards into the room when he had just stated that he lost a leg not too long ago. The leg seemed perfectly human, wearing a sandle and was covered abit by a pant leg.

"Come on now, come on in the room wont bite unless you think it'd help you train. it's a ferocious beast sometimes though so be wary." he states as the swinging axes go away, leaving the room barren once more.

"Come on, tell us all who you are and what your speacializations are, what do you do, what do you want to do and what do you wish to do. And, of course, tell us what you, yourself, see yourself as bad at.

Do not worry, there will be no judging, we are a team, and we shall know each other's ins and outs if we are to succeed as a team!" Straight from a damn manual on "how to be a teamleader" probably...

But the man seemed to look at them expectantly, waiting for their answers... The basket nearby his foot smelled lightly of sweetness and honey...

“These damn Anbu, must they make this building so troublesome” Ryūji muttered to himself, using two fingers to rub his eyes. While the work of his two new teammates have made the process much simpler, the facility was still a maze. Ryūji couldn’t even remember anymore how many doors he opened up to either find it completely empty or a random Anbu member doing some… unpleasant things.

He shuddered at the thought, at least using Kiyoshi’s ability they hadn't runned into any dead ends, but they still had walked for over 44 minutes. Ryūji rolled one of his chakra coins in one of his hands using his knuckles, pondering to himself when suddenly Eiichi called out that he got something before rushing down the corridor with Kiyoshi. Ryūji rushed behind the two of them until they reached their new sensei, looking at the red headed Uzumaki Ryūji had his signature sly smile appear on his face while he quietly said in a lazy yet playful tone “~Luuuckky~ who knew we were gonna get such a beauty as our sensei.”

He made sure to keep quiet listening to what his sensei and Kiyoshi had to say, taking notes on Kiyoshi’s ability and… backstory. “Now it seems like the whole situation about his origin bothers him… hopefully it doesn’t come to create trouble for me. That would be annoying, but still a rare sound kekkei genkai huh…” Ryūji thought to himself before realizing that he had to go next.

So speaking out loud in his usual lazy tone ”Hai Kasane Ojousan, I am Ryūji Ganbā. I don’t think I particularly have any strengths, after all if you read my case file the complaints on my work ethic should be there. Though I might know a little bit of basic ninjutsu and the like, nothing of note, no fancy kekkei genkai unlike my compatriot on my right. Just a regular old guy from a family known to gamble. Weaknesses, I mean my taijutsu is horrendous, and my stealth is all but non-existant, other than that people say that I am the 1% of terrible personalities, but I think they are just jealous of my looks.” Ryūji joked a bit while retaining most of his abilities, after all there was still hope that Kasane wasn’t given a full report and she might just kick him out. That is what he hoped for even if it meant angering the beauty in front of him.

Plus it doesn’t feel like a good idea for a Ganbā like him to say that he is probably the best amongst his fellow genin/anbu in fuinjutsu to an Uzumaki. Plus just revealing his hand didn’t sit right with Ryūji, after all what kind of gambler would he be if he didn’t at least try to retain some form of security. But if things go wrong he could just pretend that he held the information because ‘Any true Anbu won’t reveal information about himself to anyone.’. These thoughts ran through his head at 100 miles per hour as his face still showed that same, scumbag smile, a perfect poker face which was directed at the Uzumaki.

"I need the space for these, can't bite from behind the silly normal mask!" At least the other girl seemed to get it. "Right? Gotta change it up sometimes."

She actually thought that might not be enough space but she figured if she said that her second teammate might have an actual heart attack. Which would be counterproductive to her wanting to be the first squad to find their sensei. At least this Rokuro dude was entertaining enough.

"So where should we start looking for our new boss?"

“Guess just everywhere? The bingo book didn’t mention any specific likes for places. My old team had two Hyuugas so I usually just let Deki lead.”

She let out a full bellied laugh at seeing her teammate throw the robes on in a way that he wound up covering part of his face. Instead she struck a pose throwing her own robe up letting the ends flutter in camaraderie.

"Yes... let's go look for our supposed new 'boss'."

Oh looked like bonding could wait until they met their new Sensei. Fair.

After several opening of doors she was beginning to think they would find everyone but their sensei. The last door she opened was apparently a can and she was fairly certain she had already made an enemy of some random Anbu from forcibly yanking it open. With a boisterous but half-hearted apology she quickly shut the door on the poor fella.

    “Whoops, not that one!”

She ran away from the door headed back to the group when she heard the more subdued words of her female teammate.

    "I... uh... I... found the guy....Through here."

    “Nice work!”

She continued her jog straight up to the room. As soon as she got to the door she felt the whoosh of air as the door was flung open in front of her.

A family man huh? Oh she could appreciate that. Though part of her wanted to kick the supposedly lost leg to see what this one was made of.

"Come on, tell us all who you are and what your specializations are, what do you do, what do you want to do and what do you wish to do. And, of course, tell us what you, yourself, see yourself as bad at.”

If it was introductions he wanted that was easy enough. She skipped into the room taking a seat once in the room with her legs crossed one over the other. She slapped her chest once before starting up with her own introduction.

“I’m Kanon Ametsuchi! Specialization- Ninjutsu and the blade. I attack, and support. I know a bit of medical techniques as well from my previous sensei, no jutsu yet though. I want to learn even more jutsu and become the very best kunoichi there ever was. I’m not bad at anything……………………except maybe genjutsu.”

Eiichi | ANBU HQ | Squad Uzumaki

Kiyoshi's response to their new squad leader was a bit of an eye opener for Eiichi. Not Land of Sound, Land of Silence? Ironic, in a way. There was a hint of grim in Kiyoshi's voice as he said 'now defunct', but perhaps he had merely misheard. Throwing his colleague a glance proved fruitless- those bangs hid far too much to really be discernible in any useful manner, and the fact they'd only just met would mean it'd take time to properly get a read on his redheaded companion's vibes.

So it is a Kekkei Genkai, huh...well that makes sense.

The next was Ryuji. Ryuji's response, though layered with his own thoughts, was...insightful...in its own way. He couldn't help but give Ryuji's smug expression however an annoyed glance, especially since the comment he made about their squad leader being attractive had slipped from his lips.

Yeah, she's alright on the eyes- but you don't say it when you don't have a chance in a million. He merely rolled his eyes at the end of Ryuji's statement and decided to get his part done.

Standing a bit more stern, his eyes narrowed, taking on a much more serious expression than the one Ryuji portrayed. "My name is Kishi Eiichi." And after saying this- he respectfully bowed. "I am from the Kishii Clan," then he stood straight to look Kasane in the eye, "and while I have no idea how much the Uzumaki remembers of our two clan's history, we were once allies before the separation that split our original homeland apart. I'd call it luck that gives me the chance to work under a long lost ally of my clan- but considering how I got here- which you probably know all about- I'll just say its a stroke of good coincidence. Uzumaki-san" the serious expression shifted into a small smile "I look forward to working with you."

"I didn't have high hopes on teams but considering what we just went through to find you I can see at the very least I won't be having a problem with one of my teammates like my genin team." He said with some hint of relief.

As if realizing he hadn't answered her prompt though he added: "Oh, I also have Kekkei Genkai. My clan focus in Genjutsu and Taijutsu- though I leaned more towards Ninjutsu in my training while factoring our style of the art of trickery. There may be times" he said taking a few steps at his teammates to turn and look at them, "that I may ask you guys to do something a bit odd- bare with me when I do. I always factor in how my teammates approach combat so I'll make adjustments- but still- if I make a odd request, just trust me on it unless you think it's too dangerous."

Turning his attention back to Kasane with a glance over his shoulder he said: "My Taijutsu could use more work in general. I'm not as good at it as I'd like to be- however I'd still like to further my Genjutsu and Ninjutsu capabilities. I'd like to be able to beat Kanon at least once so she can stop adding wins to her chart- but most importantly" and he sounded deadly serious here: "so she can stop being so smug every time she tackles me to the ground and I can't fight her off."

The smug fatass never gets off once she gets that upper hand till I give in. Whoever taught her to wrestle like that isn't just an asshole but also did too good of a damn job.

And he grinned evilly here at the next thought. "One of these days I'll get her back for all those losses."

Clearing his throat, he added: "So what's next from here?"

Squad Kazuo
Following behind the two girls Rokuro let out a discontented whine, hide & seek had now fallen a long way down his list of fun things to do. While he had initially been right with Kanon enthusiastically poking his head into every room they passed he had grown tired of it by the dozenth wrong room and was quickly reduced to grumpily throwing open the doors then stomping off leaving it open. When Emi finally called them over to the right room he had mostly stopped paying attention and was instead playing around with a kunai like it was a fidget spinner. "At laaaaasssst." Practically jumping for joy he rushed over to the door.

Entering the room Rokuro's eyes all but sparkled at the swinging deathtraps instantly wanting to run around and climb all over them, once they were deactivated he pouted in disappointment and he looked around for something to turn them back on. Following Kanon's lead he plopped himself down on the floor and elected to play along until he could ask about the fun axe room. "Hellooo, I'm Rokuro Sekiyama! I bite like the room does, then I get people's blood and then I can use their chakra element for ninjutsu, well I also use taijutsu to get close enough for that stuff or sneak up on 'em. Genjutsu is just weird."

Hisa walked at a slow leisurely pace through the halls, and she didn’t speed up at all once both her new teammmates began following her. Both seemed content with her leading the way to sensei. It felt good to take control for a moment, but she felt she needed to clarify a few things.

“My name is Hisa Hyuga, as you both understand. Since we were all selected to join the ANBU, we must all be at least competent ninja to some degree. However I feel the need to note that I tend to do the most strategizing in groups. I will do my best to come up with the best ways for us to complete our mission.”

Hisa spoke while walking, never turning to look at them. It’s not like she needed to with the byakugan active. But now with her introduction out of the way, they were already approaching the library where their sensei was located.

Hisa stopped in front of the door and released her byakugan, and letting out a quiet breath as she relaxed. She entered, calling out as she did so.

“Sensei? Are you here?”

Emiko Senju

BRLjpnX.jpg

Emiko had been pressed up by the side of the door hearing Kanon's praise as well as Rokuro's relief and excitement. An ounce of satisfaction had so briefly washed over her even if it was a feeling that faded just as quickly as it came. It wasn't really all that much of an accomplishment... and the suddenly tossing of the door wide opened had caused the girl to nearly slip out of shriek jumping away from where she had propped herself against the side by the door closer to her teammates. The ANBU mask really was such an unexpecting blessing for her. The expressions she were making would of embarrassed the hell out of her, even more then she already was.

The young shinobi looked towards Kazuo reluctantly. His mentioning of her cousin Lyn lingering in her mind only enforcing the fact it wasn't just some façade and that was really her uncle. The fact he was actually part of ANBU still seeming so far fetched given what she knew about him. It wasn't about if he was skilled enough for her. His very personality seemed so contradictory to what in her mind a member of ANBU would be like. How kind and compassionate he was... not that she thought he was great or anything! She could recall her times when she was little how she would be with cousin and Kazuo would play little games with them. A bit of an embarrassing thought to Emiko being a teen now though those memories only further made it feel strange that Kazuo would be in a place such as this.

Emiko had stood back, electing to follow into the room only after her teammates. Likewise when it came to sitting she was the very last to do, hesitating for a few seconds before finally sitting herself down. She glanced up through her mask keeping her eyes fixated mostly towards her uncle ushering them to introduce themselves. They had already done so with each other though truthfully it had been a much quicker greeting just giving their names before. If they were to be a team it made sense for them to say a bit more about their talents.

"We are a team, and we shall know each other's ins and outs if we are to succeed as a team!"

Wait... why does that sound familiar? That wasn't from that stupid book he asked to borrow from her dad a while ago was it?

Before any further thought could be applied, her attention shifted to her teammates glancing over at the two as they spoke introducing themselves. Both giving their full names as well. The teen frowned, granted the expression remained still hidden by the mask. It wasn't as if she could hide her relation forever. Still she really wished she could. She observed her teammates, seeming to take a bit of mental notes of what they said. Kanon's words giving her a better idea of what she was like where as Rokuro left her with more questions then answers. Biting people for their chakra nature? What kind of weird thing was that?

She was silent as her teammate finished glancing about giving an awkward moment of pause before jumping a little shaking her head a bit. A soft hue on her cheeks at the awardness she felt she put into their introduction.

"Oh, um. My name is Emiko Senju ..." She spoke, her words cutting off in both volume and being rushed out as if attempting to make it harder to understand in some hopes no one might pick up on the link between herself and their squad leader. Her hand lifted up shifting the mask on her face swiftly as if to ensure she was concealing her identity more out of impulse rather then expecting it to help.

"I primarily specialize in Ninjutsu. I am an Earth specialist... primarily with... to put it in the most simplest terms mud. My main focus is to drain my opponents and use my Jutsu in order to disable them so they aren't a threat. I am... alright at everything else... there isn't anything I am super bad at, but I'm nowhere as good with them as I am with Ninjutsu."

Ton Yamada

...Ton was convinced... Yes...

indeed...

This was a good sensei.

Quick, succinct and to the point.

She quickly showed she was a threat and truely meant it with every bone in her body that she could kill them in any second she so chose.

And Ton loved every second of it.

"Of course sensei." he was quick to answer and snap to attention. "Ton Yamada, I am good at all things. I do not specialize." his answer was quick, his eyes looking instead to the bingo book. A nara... "Sensei, the Nara specialize-" he spat out the word with a degree of venom. "In in shadow controll, that is a good degree of spacial control in an area. How do you believe we should approach this?

...After the others make their introductions.. That is..." he looked to the others with a face that said "hurry up and do it already we are wasting time."

"...I have an idea or three in how I can, but we need to know what we all can do, lest our plans falter immedately. But when I say I am good at all things, I am mean so, and I am more than ready to aid should help be required. Weakness is not something easily accounted for without time and effort, I will help, but work on your owns faults as well.." the young man was nothing speacial to look at in truth, the most important looking thing on him was the ANBu uniform he just got and the foxy face mask.

He had upon his belt a katana and wakizashi, he had a light bow upon his back and a face that looks like he is consistently watching a dog shit on his carpet.

He was good at pretty much everything, except for the charisma department.

Team Taisei

The Byakugan gave him a little warning before his new team arrived. Enough time to put their files away, climb off the table where he'd been sitting cross-legged, and look professional-ish. It was a much more casual meeting than he'd had with his first ANBU team, all those many years ago. None of them were in masks. Taisei wore his regular jonin uniform. One of the new kids had a crop top on.

And they were infants. Hisa Hyuga was fourteen. Had he ever been that young?

"You found me. Gold star for you." He gestured to the girl in front of him, who had blank white eyes behind her glasses. "Hisa Hyuga, obviously. Which makes you Uchiha Natsume--" Black hair, tanto and a truly dazzling number of pockets, "--and you Nariko Nakamura." Blond, bo staff, way too happy to be here. Weren't they just prototypical little representatives of their clan.

Well, except for the part where they'd ended up in ANBU.

"I've read your files, and you've read whatever the Commander put in that bingo book. I'm sure I don't want to know. I have a bobcat mask, but while we're not on a mission, you can just call me Taisei. Taisei-sensei if you have to, but I don't stand on formality. I primarily specialize in genjutsu and bladed weapons." He tapped the hilt of his own tanto and raised his eyebrows at Natsume. "Uchiha, we'll talk. But like all ANBU, I can do whatever the mission calls for. That's the goal you three will strive towards, and the Commander chose me to help you get there." For whatever reason.

"So, let's hear it. What are you already good at, and what do you need to work on?"

Location: ANBU, Interrogation Room -> HQ Library | Mood: Excited | Interactions: Hisa Hyuga ( InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum ), Natsume Uchiha ( AtlannianSpy AtlannianSpy ), Taisei Hyuga ( Noam Noam ) | Mentions: N/A
With the three of them going through the facility, it took them basically half the time, if not faster, of the others to find their respective senseis. The Uchiha, who looked like an Uchiha based on hair and general disposition, seemed to be the rather moody type. Still, a somewhat shy Hyuga and a broody Uchiha meant Nariko can get all the spotlight on her. Better that way, honestly. She didn't mind being the proverbial or literal punching bag for anything so that her teammates can do what they need to.

Though, the leisure pace the Hyuga was walking in did make that buzz of excitement have no where else to go. Nariko didn't like moving so slowly, it just made her feel like they could be doing something else worth their time. Still, she didn't want to seem rude as they had just met. But since her teammates were being exceptionally slow, she began looking at the doors and even peeking through. She found the bathrooms, vacant interrogation rooms, a hallway that likely led to prison cells, and then-

The Hyuga began speaking. Said her name, said they all should be competent ninja, and said she does the most strategizing. Well, so did she!

Once they approached the library, Hisa called out and Nariko spotted the tan man with pale eyes within the library, looking at them. Those pale eyes always made Nariko's hair on the back of her neck stand on end. They don't even need to be using their doujutsu for her to feel like they are staring right through every fiber of her being.

She beamed as Taisei got her name correctly though, resting her hands on her hips in a triumphant pose and fiery determination in her eyes. The fact that he read their files was a bit disappointing as she loved to explain herself. However, when he mentioned he had bladed weapons, her eyes glazed over in scrutiny. Did he deserve the blade? She looked over to Natsume, who also had a tanto.

Surely, Taisei is their master, and if all three of them looked to be good taijutsu users, then he must be better at taijutsu than all three of them combined. If that were the case, Natsume had less of a reason to even have a tanto unless she's fought tooth and nail to train for it or with it. Though, her eyes darted to Taisei as she just realized he had said he specialized in genjutsu. What about taijutsu? What? He's a Hyuga, why not taijutsu?

She sure hoped this won't be a shitfest.

Though, she narrowed her eyes at him as he wanted to talk to the Uchiha girl. Why? Did she do something wrong, or was it because of her clan? Either way, it made her wary of them both.

But then, Taisei asked what they were good at. With an excited chip to her voice, she grinned a bit too wide as she explained herself a bit more, pointing to herself with her thumb. "I'm really good at taijutsu, being fast and strong and stuff. And using my staff and strategizing when I'm the spotlight. I'm pretty good at ninjutsu too, even got a kekkei genkai for lightning storms. Though, don't ask me for fuinjutsu or genjutsu stuff, I'm pretty shit at it and never use it. Don't wanna use it, but I also dunno how to leave it." Without faltering, it was apparent nerves and excitement had gotten to her as she said it all with that huge grin plastered on her face. As if she was way too happy to not be good at what she said. She put her hands back on her hips as she finished, very happy to have gotten some attention.

Squad Taisei
Natsume Uchiha

Natsume was wondering if she had inadvertently made some kind of statement. Taise had given her a fairly meaningful look and a promise to 'talk later' while indicating the weapon he shared with Natsume and the Nakamura girl was suddenly staring daggers, Natsume didn't need a byakugan to pick up the lasers being bored into her back all of a sudden.

Jeez if I'd known it was gonna be such a big deal I'd have left the damn thing at home Natsume thought, feeling weary already. Natsume liked the shortsword well enough but only in so far as it was a good quality tool that suited her purposes: it gave her a useful melee range advantage over the more typical kunai without the unwieldiness or longer training time of a more specialized weapon, it was imminently practical. Taisei and Nakamura seemed to have ascribed more meaning to the weapon than it owner did however, they both had kekkai genkais and yet seemed to take more pride in their pointy bits of metal, it was weird. Natsume hoped they weren't expecting her to bust out some crazy kenjutsu technique she absolutely did not possess.

Feeling now some kind of expectation, Natsume cleared her throat and introduced herself, though she would have happily gone last it felt like the conversation had naturally drifted in her direction. "So uh yeah, I'm Natsume. I don't really have any particular strengths or weaknesses, I guess I'm not that familiar with fuinjutsu but I can handle most everything else okay..." Natsume trailed off, wandering if she should add something else. It felt like a blunt assessment but what else was there to say? That she had a sharingan? Well duh and it wasn't like she could do anything unique with it, just standard... Uchiha stuff.

Instead of continuing Natsume just sort of shrugged noncommittally and threw a glance at Hisa. The Hyuuga girl had already sort of introduced herself on the way over but maybe she wanted to make a more formal impression now that they were in front of their instructor? It would be a whole let less awkward if she did.

"We? Oh!" Yumi caught sight of the spider sitting in Ren's palm. She kind of remembered that the Ogumo clan had bugs like the Aburame, but they were a really small clan and she usually didn't pay attention when people talked about bloodline limits and things like that. But ninja spiders were cool. "Is he a summons, or does he just, like, hang out with you?"

What could have been a nice moment was interrupted by Ton being a blatant asshole yet again. Oh sure, he didn't specialize. That just sounded like a fancy way of saying he wasn't good at anything. "I'm an archer," Yumi said, grinding her teeth and not making any comments in his direction. None at all. She could so be mature. "So if we don't want to get close enough for this Nara guy to snag us with his shadows, that can be arranged. Wind-type chakra. I'm okay at seals and stealth too."

Folding her arms Kasane sat back to let the trio speak, if Kiyoshi's body language and Ryuji's rather crass actual language were anything to go by then being stuck with three pubescent boys was going to present some rather specific problems.

Kyoshi's rather matter of fact statement of his homeland's dismal state was a little worrying and maybe something to check on later. It was nice to see he had an interest in fuuinjutsu, most genin went for flashier ninjutsu or simpler taijutsu. In all he seemed like the most level-headed and well balanced of the team.

Ryuji by contrast was obviously half-assing it and leaving out most of his abilities to avoid being called on to lose them, Kasane expected he was hoping ANBU would help him drop out of his creditors view. From his file she knew he was actually quite skilled with genjutsu and even more so at fuuinjutsu. Plucking an abandoned pen lid off the table she flicked it out of her hand sending it to ricochet off the wall and bounce off Ryuji's ear. "You're in ANBU now kiddo, hiding what you can do from your team is more likely to get someone killed than let you coast through D-rank dogwalking missions. I'll be sure to show you two how to do some serious sealing, whether you like it or not."

Eiichi went last and was surprisingly polite at least towards her, she could see he was already prepared to butt heads with Ryuji. "I was raised here in Konoha so I didn't have the pleasure of knowing any Kishi very well until now." She smiled slyly at his reason to improve at taijutsu. "Hmm and who's this Kanon then? A girl friend or...?"

Leaving the question hanging she stood up. "As for what I can do you probably guessed by the Uzumaki reputation that I know a lot about fuinjutsu, I've also got nin and tai covered while I've only really studied enough genjutsu to be able to snap myself out of it." Making for the door she gestured to her team to follow. "For now let's get out of this dustpan and we'll see if there's a training chamber free, then we can find out just how much of what you told me is true."

As Kiyoshi finished his minor introduction in front of the group, the red haired Anbu would soon turned to his left; glancing at the blue haired tactician whom had earlier in the day managed to utilise their strengths to the best of what could have been achieved given their situation. Not bad for the group of three who hadn't even spent a minutes breath together. Considering his demeanour prior to Kiyoshi and Eiichi revealing their skillset with sensory jutsu, it came as asurprise that Ryūji had defaulted back to his lacklustre, almost lazy like tone as if he didn't much care to be here.

Earlier, Kiyoshi had brushed it aside as nothing more than the initial reaction of a man faced with a bleak situation and scarce information to go on, but given they had just achieved their first mission, so to speak, surely he should have been more motivated now?; was this just who he was? Someone quick to choose the 'defeatist' or less work orientated route? It was too quick to judge, but given what has already transpired, Kiyoshi was quite confident that he was not too far off the mark with his current opinion. Nevertheless, he continued to listen to Ryūji as he spoke.

"Lacking in stealth?" Kiyoshi thought to himself, already seeing that that may impose a problem for those who work within the shadows that the ANBU operate within. However Kiyoshi knew that he had the ability to make up for that particular weakness to an extent and despite Ryūji's present demeanour, Kiyoshi knew undoubtedly that the man was not dumb enough to still manage to get the enemies attention if he were unable to produce sound.

After all that was said and done by Ryūji, Kiyoshi's current assessment of one of his new partners was that he was not the type suited to close range combat and that given his lack of mention of Genjutsu, probably suggested that he had more talent in that department than Kiyoshi did. The Lazy comedian, yet someone who on paper covered for some of Kiyoshi's weaknesses and vice versa. A balance. At least that was what it seemed like for now. While Kiyoshi hadn't noticed; Kasane seemed to be well aware that Ryūji was not being completely transparent with everyone given her comments.

While Ryūji portrayed himself as the Wily yet indolent person; Kishi seemed to be the other side of that coin; The serious but professional one. Where Ryūji was seemingly too relaxed, Kishi on the other hand was stern and to the point.

Listening with the same vigour that he had offered to Ryūji, Kiyoshi took several mental notes regarding the shared history between Kishi's clan and that of their squad leader as well as the vague hint towards a history that like Kiyoshi's seemed to be shrouded in a bit of darkness. To what extent Kishi's past was plagued by despair; Kiyoshi wouldn't know given that his clan was never affiliated with the leaf to begin with; Unlike that of the Uzumaki and perhaps that of Kishi's clan as well.

That stern and serious bravado that he had displayed would eventually dissipate as Kishi focused less on his past and more towards the present. Like Kiyoshi, it seemed that Kishi did have a positive outlook towards their team thus far, even if it was still early doors. His proficiency with his own KKG as well as the mention of their specialty in Genjutsu and Taijutsu as well as his focus on Ninjutsu suggested that he was the most balanced skill wise out of the trio and could in essence be the one that bridges the gaps and solidifies the teamwork among the trio. That being said he also seemed to be the biggest risk taker among them, considering his confession towards having 'odd' idea's at times. In that sense he seemed to be a gambler just like Ryūji; perhaps an even bigger one considering he basically admitted that his motives towards improving his taijutsu were to 'get one over' Kanon; information that seemingly didn't need to be aired out in front of everyone. A sly grin appeared beneath Kiyoshi's mask as he read between the lines of Kishi's remark. Kasane seemed to read those lines as well.

With the trio's introductions done and dusted, Kasane would soon arise to her feet; confirming some of their suspicions as she did so. From what she had admitted, it seemed that Kiyoshi in terms of strengths and weaknesses in regards to their skill sets seemed to align more with Kasane then the other two; given they both focused more on Ninjutsu and Taijutsu and lacked talent in Genjutsu.

Gesturing for them to follow; Kiyoshi would follow Kasane through the door towards a training room. It seemed that they were to showcase their talents to one another.

Hisa Hyuga
Squad Taisei

With it now being her turn to introduce herself, Hisa put her hands down in front of her and bowed to Taisei.

“My name is Hisa Hyuga, and I am a sensory specialist. My byakugan allows me to keep an eye on everything within a very large radius. I’ll do my best to make sure we go into every situation as prepared as possible,” Hisa stated. She paused for a moment, realizing she forgot to mention her actual combat abilities.

“Combat-wise, I tend to focus on a mix of genjutsu and taijutsu if my blade fails.” Hisa reached behind her, turning the scabbard to her tanto blade so that it would be visible to Taisei.

Hisa purposely left her techniques vague. She didn’t feel entirely inclined to reveal her specific abilities just yet. She felt bad for not trusting her teammates just yet, and she didn’t have a ton of reasoning for it besides having just met them all.

Hisa cursed at herself internally. She’d show them what she could do personally. It’d be the best way for her to assess their skills too.

Hisa’s gaze turned to Taisei. She wasn’t thrilled about having a cousin as a sensei. A hyuga reject learning from another was almost humorous in her mind. Almost. He had to be skilled if he had survived this long in the ANBU. Plus his specialties were in line with her own. She no doubt would have something to learn.

Finishing his so-called ‘explanation’ Ryūji observed their sensei, obviously she was unimpressed by his lackless introduction. Ryūji deduced that she most likely did, in fact receive a completed report on his abilities and… issues. He sighed at the realization before seeing Kasane pick up a pen lid and flicking it, his eyes widened slightly as the cap ricochet off the wall and hit his ear. The force was strong enough where Ryūji could hear a faint buzzing noise in that ear, he raised his right hand and covered the ear. “Looks like she didn’t enjoy that. *Sigh* Looks like there is no getting out of this…” He thought to himself as he waited for the buzzing to subside. Hearing her announce that she will teach them some serious fuinjutsu skills Ryūji mused for a moment about what that could entail.

Then he turned his attention to Eiichi, listening to him directly and politely explain his abilities Ryūji sighed, processing the information laid out “So his clan has history with the Uzumaki, interesting but ultimately pointless for the job, a straight forward guy… not exactly my type of person but it will definitely make communication simple. He also seems to have an issue with his former team… why do both of them have to have such troublesome pasts?” Ryūji complained to himself before continuing his evaluation “Another Kekkei Genkai huh… makes you wonder how many of the new recruits have one. That’s something I’d like to bet on, but what is his bloodline ability? Ok so a ninjutsu specialist, that could work so long as I play support…” he stopped thinking after Eiichi mentioned Kanon, he looked at the other two, seeing their bemused look before looking at Eiichi and grinning “Ok now this is fucking gold, looks like our stoic comrade has himself a girlfriend. By the sound of things they get into quite the struggle.” he chuckled at the thought, then as if pretending to accidentally let out a small comment, said “Aaah ∿Lucky∿ not even a day into the Anbu and you already have a lover…”

After all was said and done with Kasane giving in Ryūji’s opinion an answer that was really as bare bones as his own, he watched as she made her way to the door and talked about showcasing their abilities. Ryūji’s face froze as he ran through all the possible meanings of that sentence before whispering “You got to be fucking kidding me, please god I know that I’m lucky but at least this time let my suspicions be wrong.”, there were two scenarios he could think of about what the showcase will be and the second one frightened him to no end. After all, he was not built to face monsters without notice.

Kazuo Senju

"Wonderful! Wonderful! Truely I picked well. Don't worry everyone, i'll have you fit as fiddles and well on your way as proper chuunin soon.

Please don't worry about that exam.

You are true stars we have plucked from the fold, each and every one of you has great potential, and can grow to become a true epitome of what is to be a ninja.

How you coordinate yourselves in your daily life is up to you, as long as you do not reveal yourselves you'll do fine.

Do and you will be dust in the wind, if we don't get you our enemies will and i can swear it will be a worse of fate.

Nothing makes Kaito angrier than somebody blowing their cover and we have to go and extract them.

If we end up performing such a mission, I suggest treating the person as you would evidence." The man, with an immaculate smile, leans forwards towards his student, his eyes watching them with what could be considered a fatherly love.

"And burn them quickly."

He stands back up straight, his height fully towering now, but he quickly kneels down to collect the basket.

"Here, sandwiches, choose from what you like, sorry, sesame seed bread was all I had on spare if you don't like that. For now eat these as we talk, we have a mission." He handed the basket to Kannon, gently walking past them all with carr that belies his stature.

"It is the senju way to, whilst having a favorite, to shore up our weaknesses to be truely unassailable. Whilst I believe its a good thing, I also know the power in facing a true powerhouse.

I shall teach you whatever you wish, if you don't understand something, or are experiencing yrouble getting something to click, do not be afraid, its why i'm here.

I am not going to tell you how to grow, but I will help you grow. Like how a tomato plant needs a supportng trelis to raise it'self high, I shall support, but never truely guide." He finished off his speech and sighed.

And within a heart beat he spoke again.

"Today's mission we will be hunting down a possible child snatcher, orphans from a organized orphanage have been going missing. I have heard unpleasant things about Madam Iwamoto, we arr to go under guise of the usual ninja there to teach and guide young ones in the fine art of simple ninjutsu.

Simple rope tricks will do, but how you inspire them, is up to you, as long as you don't scare them.

When we find out our reason for the dissappearance, we with extract the issue and allow opporations of the place to resume without issue.

You will be in civilian dress at first, and be returning later the night after that so don't waste too much energy or you'll have to deal with some more of my cooking hohoho~! We will meet out front of it, dress lightly for the midday, dinner is on me...

...Hmm... Any questions?

Miyu took a long drag on her cigarette, blank eyes as she walked, almost as if she wasn't paying attention. But as she let a puff exhale in a long slow breath, she opened her bingo book, looking through it.

----------------------

Shikahide Nara
Rank: Jonin Candidate - Chunnin level
1649816083425.png
Psychological Profile: Aggressive for a Nara, Shikahide has a disposition to violence. Has attacked allies before He has a fondness for gold, and spending it. Often found gambling. Doesn't work well in teams.

Combat Profile: Specializes in giving 'weight' to his shadows. His shadow is able to interact with others, but cannot change shape for shadow possession like most Nara. Tends to use it to physically attack. Talented in setting traps. Can replace with his own shadow.

Notes: Inactive in combat last 6 months. Signs of surgery can be seen across body, no medical records available. Seems rusty, and still healing.

--------------

Slowly, Miyu struggled to get her robes back on, struggling with a few buttons and zippers. Last of all, she grabbed a mask, a pale regular ceramic mask, with four claw like grooves running down it with red stripes. As she passed by an office counter, her fingers twitched, and a piece of paper came flying in at her. She handed it to Yumi.

"Mission this time's not elimination. It's to plant this on him, and let him think he's won. Kaito thinks something fishy is up here. Shikahide's a sociopath, but he ain't stupid. He also ain't likely to leave the village for no reason, clan funds stolen or not. Seems desperate, but we don't know why. Was about to hit Jonin, despite his tendency to beat the shit out of his allies. And I HATE saying this, but while Kaito's an asshole, but... he's generally not wrong. Tch."

The group continued through the winding maze of stone underground that was ANBU, a faint chestnut smell filling the air, until they came to several tree roots blocking the path. Miyu continued to walk as if she hadn't noticed, and walked straight it. Anyone who followed would find themselves outside, sunlight kissing their bodies, noonday sun beating above them.

Below them, stood the four faces of the hokages, and a perfect view overlooking the village. Miyu blew a ring of smoke into the air. "North. Try to keep up. We're heading to Sazon's Bend, and looking for footprints from across the river. No ANBU reports of him at the Valley of the End, or anywhere near there, so we've got time."

Miyu's body started to fade color, turning a dull yellow, before beginning to disintegrate into webbing in the air.

Body Flicker

------------------------------------------

"You know this ain't enough money for me to have gone rogue over!" A muscled man in an orange jumpsuit and goggles cursed and threw a coin pouch to the ground. Under him, his shadow moved on it's own, though just as angrily, stomping and flicking off the air around it.

Above, a voice sounded.

"Oh, it wasn't a bribe. Besides, we both know with you having raided the clan treasury, you're set for money. I like you, Shikahide. But we both know you're starting to come undone. Hiroto would have dispatched you if I hadn't saved you." Above the ninja on a nearby tree, and man with vines weaving in and out of his skin, visible across his biceps, and curling inward at his shoulders. Without a shirt, the mesh continued across his ribs, giving him a wooden one, and a patchwork of vines over his stomach. The Senju Crest was tattoo'd on his forehead. He was relaxed with one foot behind him against the trunk of the tree, and his head against his hands.

As if to verify the claims of being well paid, below, a thin line began to draw across the shadow like a smile, before the hands outstretched, coins and bills and gems flooding out of them onto the ground, before being reabsorbed into it, grabbing the thrown pouch too. The shadow hugged itself giddy, and Shikahide threw it a worried glance, before shaking his head. Suddenly, he flinched, and grabbed his head, dropping to one knee as he yelped.

"Out of sync. You've got to control yourself."

Shikahide hissed. "Tch. Just tell me no ninjas are after me. You said you'd do that much."

"No... regular squads are after you. ANBU's it's own thing, and patrols might still exist. So, no time to rest sadly. Get to it. Sadly, I've got to deal with an angry Hyuga Clan." The Senjuu gave a tired sigh, before beginning to sink into the tree itself, disappearing.

Mayflower Jutsu

Shikahide spat at the spot his 'friend' had been, before making several labored stepped forward, swaying as he went. He began to weave a few handsigns as he went. "Almost... free..."

As he stumbled, a few red flowers could be seen blossoming along the way, with crystal blue stamen reflecting everything, like a bulbed mirror.

----------------------

At the riverside, footprints could be seen headed deeper into the woods. They were fresh, and the path swayed unevenly back and forth.

Well, Nakamura, at least, wasn't suffering from low self-esteem. That was good. And a lightning kekkei genkai was interesting as well. He'd known that the Nakamura had some sort of innate ability with lightning, but not the specifics. They were a pretty small clan, and as far as he knew, none of them had been in ANBU before. A family known for bright blonde hair and thunderstorms didn't make for stealthy shinobi.

"Not knowing how to break out of genjutsu is going to be an issue," Taisei said bluntly. "But you're on the right team to work on that." And he didn't foresee anyone becoming trapped in a genjutsu on this first mission, at least.

Uchiha's self-assessment matched what her file had said--a competent genin with no particular specialization apart from a fondness for bladed weapons. Which the other two apparently shared. And being an Uchiha, he had to assume that she was halfway decent at genjutsu. Alright, maybe the Commander had given him this team for a reason.

"Yes, I'm familiar with the capabilities of the byakugan," he said dryly when Hisa was done with her speech. "Thank you. In any case, we seem like a well-balanced team. And I'm happy about that, because we already have our first mission."

Taisei held up a scroll. "It's a simple C-rank, don't worry. It seems that the Uchiha and the Senju are arguing over some very fancy wine. And when children argue over a toy, it gets taken away. The Commander says we can destroy the bottles, steal them, dump them into the river, whatever we want. But whatever we do, we need plausible deniability. Neither the Uchiha nor the Senju should know that this is an inside job."

He passed the mission scroll to Natsume first so that the genin could read it. "I think the best option is to stage a burglary. We use genjutsu to hide our entrance to the house and steal the wine. Any objections?"

Eiichi | ANBU HQ | Squad Uzumaki

Ryuji hiding more details about his own capabilities didn't go unnoticed, it'd more been ignored. Whether they said everything about what they could do or not ultimately did not matter to Eiichi- as if they were to be a team, it would be inevitable that everything his teammates could do would be laid out.

At Uzumaki's response to him however Eiichi could not help but give a respectful nod at the acknowledgement of his statement. The moment Uzumaki-san had mentioned Kanon in a minor jest towards him however- Eiichi's eyes widened slightly, before narrowing with the expression of a curious squint before it faded once their squad leader had decided to keep the ball rollling and move things along with them all following her.

His teammates however, had not.

Repressing a groan, regretting having ever let that bit slip unchecked about wanting to get payback at one of his childhood friends- Eiichi remained silent throughout the minor jokes at his expense. Though it slightly annoyed him from the way he rolled his eyes the second Ryuji started grinning at him after their squad leader had said that, he wasn't about to get mad at simple jokes provided they didn't go too far. In this case, with Kiyoshi and Ryuji, the jokes were in good humor. It wasn't like with Baozhai or some of the others within her circle of friends who liked to make up fraudulent stories about him being some kind of gigantic pervert that gunned for the rowdier to dumber to brutish spectrum of rom interests to boost his own 'low-ego' by manipulating them with whatever strange methods those Mud Shinobi were so elegant at using in the heat of battle.

The only thing he did say as he followed them out of said dustpan, briefly ignoring Ryuji's own inner exclamation of turmoil, was a simple statement of: "We're not dating, and she's just a good friend." One that likes to get on my nerves, but a good one nonetheless.

However even as the words were leaving his mouth- he had a feeling he'd just be saying that over and over in the foreseeable future. In a lot of ways Academy life seemed to have followed him into the ANBU, at least with the people here, it wouldn't be in hostile waters.

Once at the training room, Eiichi's attention turned to its layout. If they were going to be displaying their abilities here, he wanted to get a good eye on the space he'd be working with. Open environments like outdoors really were better suited for what he could do, but that didn't mean he wasn't used to practicing in enclosed spaces either.

"I don't see what you're complaining about" he spoke in reference to Ryuji. "The sooner we have a better idea of what each of us can do, the less surprises there will be. So, Uzumaki-san- how are we doing this? I've got not problem going first, in fact I'd like to see what Ryuji here can do personally speaking. After seeing Kiyoshi use his KG in action to help us narrow down our paths, I've got a pretty solid understanding that he would probably be able to navigate any blindside tricks I'd pull with ease. Ryuji though" and he turned to look at his teammate- "since you went about leaving details out, why don't you get up there with me and show me what you can actually do?" He nodded with his head as if a sign of encouragement. "Do, don't say. Show me what you got."

Squad Taisei
Natsume Uchiha

Natsume took the mission scroll from Taisei and suppressed an urge to groan. Of course something like this had happened, whatever the Senju had the Uchiha had to have too. Natsume still remembered the time in her childhood when the clan elders had damn near emptied the clan's treasure vault planting an ornate meditation garden to match the one the Senju had just gotten. Nevermind that the Senju had simply used their wood release so it hadn't cost them a single ryo, the less important members of the clan, like Natsume, had ate little more than plain rice for months while the coffers recovered. Of course that had all been carefully concealed from outsiders, as far as the rest of the village where concerned the Uchiha were their usual imperious, prosperous selves. It was therefore not all that surprising to Natsume that as a newly minted anbu she was still working to cushion her family's fragile ego, idly she wondered just how many similar missions the anbu had carried out in the past.

"There is a possibility that if we use genjutsu suspicion will fall on my- the Uchiha, and we'll exacerbate tensions rather than smooth things over like the mission is intended to do." said Natsume mildly, raising her hand absently as she scanned through the mission text, leaning against the nearby wall to read more easily. "Genjutsu is an Uchiha specialty afterall and I suspect the Senju would be especially on the lookout for it in a case like this. Actually, now that I think about that aren't their Senju in Anbu with us? We could try asking one of them about the security measures we might encounter,"

Natsume finished reading and stuck her hand out with the scroll for someone else to grab it. "Oh and if we're trying to stage a burglary we should try and sell the stuff, or at least make a show of it, make some disguised inquiries with wine merchants about how much they'd be worth and that sort of thing. If there's evidence of an obvious financial motive that'll make it seem less likely to be an inside job.

Location: ANBU, Library | Mood: Excited, Concerned | Interactions: Hisa Hyuga ( InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum ), Natsume Uchiha ( AtlannianSpy AtlannianSpy ), Taisei Hyuga ( Noam Noam ) | Mentions: Eiichi, Kaito, Everyone else because booze party

Nariko nodded at Taisei's comment on her lack of genjutsu cancelling know-how, glad att he sentiment that her teammates would have her back. However, as her gaze lingered on her teammates, her boisterous smile faltered.

It was at this point that Nariko had realized everyone in her team had a sword. And not her.

She didn't know if her family would even want to give her a sword for having disappeared off the face of the planet and being recruited into ANBU. In fact, they'd be outraged if they knew she had left her team, but she didn't know if they were going to understand that she had no other say in it. She was forced to, but she felt happier here. For once, she felt like she didn't have to walk on eggshells.

However, the fact that not one teammate, but two teammates had a sword made her wary. Were they trained for it? Were they respecting their swords enough? But if Taisei-sensei had a sword, then it was likely these two would train with him on how to be better at the sword. Which was good, Nariko guessed. However, she loathed to think that they had to learn how to utilize their sword better as they were given it too early.

But if her sensei had a sword, it would be remiss of her to fuss over Natsume's and Hisa's ownership of tantos. As Natsume introduced herself, she made herself sound rather well-rounded, average. That was good. She had a Sharingan for sure, right? While Nariko didn't fully remember every detail about the Sharingan, she did know it came about from some form of tragedy. Maybe she received her Sharingan during the chuunin exams...

Then, it was Hisa's turn. Hisa stated quite the obvious, even for the Hyuga sensei. The fact that they both had a Byakugan made Nariko wonder who she was explaining this to. It would be idiotic of her to not know what a Byakugan was, living within a village whose Hyuga clan was a big deal.

But then Hisa said something about if her blade fails...

The only reason why it would fail is if you don't know how and when to use it...

Of course, there was the other possibility that the sword wouldn't be good for everything, but saying it "failed" to do anything would be more about Hisa's skill and knowledge on how to use the tanto than the sword's capability. No, it was Hisa's capability.

She wondered if Hisa was the worst one here in terms of sword use, but if she could utilize genjutsu, why couldn't she combine genjutsu with her blade? She mentioned that to Eiichi after she won against his blade with no genjutsu, having been bested by his genjutsu ability the very first time they fought.

Either way, it was also annoying Hisa was a little vague about her abilities. Why? Granted, it wasn't like she told everyone of her Fang Fist Style, but almost every Nakamura clan member practiced it and there was a dojo made by her own mother who taught this. Then again, they can always figure it out in the field, it was just a hassle to accommodate for something like not knowing what your teammate could do.

Unless she was horrible at explaining things. Me, too, girl. Me, too.

Then, they had their first mission. Nariko's eyes snapped to Taisei, excitement brewing in her blue eyes. A C-rank mission, about taking booze.

Booze...

They want them-... To take and destroy booze?

She was going to get at least one bottle for everyone! Including the fourteen-year-olds, they're in ANBU. It'll be a bonding exercise with not just one team, but the rest of the teams they'll likely be working alongside with. Oh, and the commander, Nariko couldn't forget about Kaito.

A strategy was forming, with Taisei wondering if they could steal the wine and set up genjutsu to hide it. It would be a good idea, but something about it wasn't right. Thankfully, Natsume had brought up a good concern about the Senju blaming the Uchiha due to their use of genjutsu. Nariko leaned over to peer at the mission paper over Natsume's shoulder before going back to stand in her spot so as to not crowd the purple girl.

A few ideas sprang in Nariko's mind and she grinned wildly, holding up a finger as she leaned towards her teammates.

"That's the cool thing, you can drop calling cards if you know who's who and get them into trouble, ooorrrrrr-"

She made a Tiger sign, a puff of smoke clouding her visage before she appeared before them as a man. A six-foot-tall man with lean muscle wearing the traditional black and green garb of a jonin on duty with sweeping brown locks that curtained down to his mid-back and bright hazel eyes that nearly looked golden. The bo-staff, while not changing, did look like a longer tanto. This was a random man she thought of, as she didn't remember anyone else looking like this. "We can just transform into people, I take the brunt of the attention, I do a bit of Substitution jutsu to give you guys the actual booze while I carry around a bag of glass and rock, and have someone chase me around the place before I disappear. Body flickering is great and you two could probably hide me with your genjutsu if you know how to do that." She winked, her voice having deepened considerably due the transformation. "I'm okay with nearly being caught, I love a challenge where I get chased!"

She then paused, blinked a few times, and then beamed again as she realized Natsume's other pieces of advice. "Yeah, we should probably ask a Senju. That way we know what to avoid and how to trip it, so we can worry about me getting chased and losing them. No one should know it's me." She made the Tiger hand signs and transformed back to her normal form in a puff of smoke, her voice back to her gruff, chipper self. "And, acting like we're selling it would look even more like we are just some random jonin stealing and selling the stuff! However," She put a finger on her chin. "I would like to take back at least twenty bottles. Two just in case anything breaks, and eighteen for everyone to share. One for us recruits and our senseis, and two for commander Kaito." She grinned, feeling quite generous and happily so. "I'd like to at least have a little fun breaking ourselves into the success of our first mission as ANBU by drinking." If she could smile wider, her face would split in half. She looked so proud, her hands on her hips in a power pose of confidence as she thought nothing could go wrong with this plan.

Hisa Hyuga
Team Taisei

Hisa listened to her teammates comments on their mission with little reaction. She was too busy dreading the fact they had already been assigned a mission. Were the ANBU really putting the new recruits to work so soon? Hisa had thought they’d be taught some useful techniques or something for the first several days first. Hell Hisa hadn’t even eaten lunch yet. Hisa didn’t even remember what time it was in all honesty.

With a quiet groan, Hisa rubbed her right temple. She didn’t want to try and think about a plan yet. Nariko already had some ideas, but they were too risky for Hisa’s taste. Hopefully there would ‘t be any need for a chase. Getting some of that booze would be wonderful though…

“I don’t think we should do much planning until we have a better idea of what we’re getting into. If we can’t find any Senju around here to talk to, I’ll take some time to scout before we break in.”

The beginning of missions were always the most stressful. At least it was for Hisa. They had little information to go on, so they couldn’t do much planning. A plan without the proper information was like studying ninjutsu for you taijutsu test in Hisa’s eyes. That’s what worried her. Then when it came time to actually gather the information, Hisa was always worried she’d miss something vital. No matter how perceptive her byakugan was, Hisa knew she wasn’t perfect. She could easily overlook something by her own error. Even if everything went perfectly, there were.

Hisa rubbed her temples again, this time with both hands.

“I’ll try to learn how to seal before our mission, just in case,” Hisa said before turning her gaze to her sensei. “So… do you know a Senju we could talk to?”

ANBU were supposed to be stoic, but Taisei couldn't stop the small grin from spreading across his face as he listened to his students talk. Oh, they were smart, in addition to being tough enough to survive the chunin exams and weird enough for ANBU. Uchiha had already found the potential holes in his plan, Nakamura had come up with a potential alternative, and Hisa had at least attempted to bring them all back down to earth.

Yes, this was going to be a good team.

"You make good points," he said, when Hisa had finally cut off Nakamura's runaway train of thought. "The Uchiha are well known for their genjutsu, and so their longest-standing rivals will almost certainly be on guard for it. But they'll be on guard for any shinobi techniques, including transformation and substitution." He inclined a head towards Nakamura. "Which doesn't make it a bad idea. Those are generic techniques that any shinobi might know. But in some instances, a simple disguise is better than transformation. After all, no amount of chakra can wipe away hair dye, contacts and new clothes. And using those lets you save your chakra for when you really need it.

"As for recon...yeah, I do know a Senju here in ANBU. But what makes you think he'll give you the correct information?" Taisei raised his eyebrows at them. "After all, wouldn't he want his clan to keep this fancy wine for themselves, and show off their power by beating up anyone who tried to steal it?"

It wasn't a real concern, of course. Taisei had known Kazuo for nearly half his life, and the man's loyalties had never come into question. He would put the best interests of the village over petty clan politicking, every time. But he wanted to hear his students' opinions on how to determine whether a contact was reliable. This was what his own sensei would have called a 'teachable moment.'

And underneath the underneath, another valuable lesson. Sometimes, an ANBU mission would hurt your clan. Better to consider the problem when it fell on some other family first.

As they walked Kasane overheard Ryuji's quiet panicking and smirked evilly and chuckled at that as well as the ribbing Eiichi was getting.

Pushing open a set of double doors she led the boys into a wide open room with a high ceiling filled with poles of varying heights and levels of scarring with ropes haphazardly strung between them. "We use this room to train for fighting in three-dimensions, among trees or in ravines stuff like that. So here's your little test." With a puff of smoke she vanished and reappeared perched on a long rope running almost right through the centre of the room. "Come and force me down from this rope, come all at once or together with whatever you like but I do reserve the right to change positions if you just cut the rope down." As she spoke Kasane strolled along the rope as if it were a garden path. "Don't leave a girl hanging." Adhering her feet to the rope with her chakra she walked around it to stand upside down, from her back a trio of shimmering chains sprouted and one beckoned for the boys to approach.
