◈ ◈ ◈

Only a few hours had passed since the morning sun crested the Hokage Rock, bathing the beautiful Hidden Leaf in rays of golden yellow. Today was a new day in many ways, and Naruto Uzumaki was excited for everything that would come next.

A lot had happened in fifteen years. His proudest feat was of course becoming Hokage, something he'd worked all his life for, but he had also gotten married and had two amazing children. Konoha, as well as the world at large, was flourishing under the new peace brought after the war's end. Businesses that had been around since the village's original foundation were able to open for 24 hours at a time; condos housing hundreds of people were constructed, which then allowed immigration, shelter for those in need, and a sharp increase in Konoha's population; and the village had become, to an extent, no longer dominated by shinobi.

But still, despite not being primarily shinobi, they did still exist—Naruto and Kakashi had both made sure of that. Their jobs may have been less exciting, their roles oftentimes reduced to glorified keepers of the peace or errand-runners of the general population, but they still trained and employed full-fledged ninja. The academy still existed, teams were still trained each year, the Chunin Exams were still hosted and funded. The Jonin lining the interior of the Hokage's gathering room proved this; dozens of them stood at full attention, while eleven sat cross-legged on small floor mats in front of the short stage Naruto stood upon. His eyes scanned over them all, admiring the organization, the respect for this ceremony. After spotting the Jonin Council located behind the ones who were sitting, Naruto gave a quick smile, then removed his hat and held it at his side.

"Another year has passed," started Naruto, "and that means another wave of students have graduated the Ninja Academy. They'll soon be assigned to teams under your care, signifying the passing of a torch from one generation to another. Instead of being entrusted to, as we have been, it's now time for us to be the one who entrusts to this new generation of shinobi." He took a moment to pause and glance to the side. Shikamaru shook his head slightly with a smirk on his face, and Naruto took it as a sign to keep going before looking back to the gathering of shinobi. "This new generation may be different from the ones before, but that doesn't mean you should be less hard on them! Bring out their strengths, weaknesses, and let them do the same to you, 'ttebayo!"

A big grin spread across his face and his eyes closed. Naruto had often got carried away during his work as Hokage; he'd only been in the position for six whole months, and though he did a good job filling Kakashi's shoes, he wasn't completely used to the formality. His grin turned into a normal smile and he crossed his arms before speaking once more. "I'll list off the Genin teams now, and then their Jonin sensei."

Shinakichu had never been one to question her father's choices, especially as Hokage. She didn't understand politics, or how to run a village, or many things about ninja or the Will of Fire or most of the stuff he talked about, but hearing what team he'd assigned her to was a bit nerve-wracking. Haruka Uchiha, and that quiet kid with pink hair, not to mention she'd never even heard of the Jonin who was going to be in charge of them. Did her father deliberately choose people he knew she'd be anxious around?

Haruka had always been intimidating, at least to Shinakichu. She had been outgoing and more along the lines of an extrovert for as long as Shina could remember, and it was often awkward when the Uchha would say something to or mention the other in conversation. For this reason, she mostly avoided Haru, though didn't dislike her at all. Shina had even felt bad at her brother's funeral, and tried to give her condolences as best she could. But Ryūji? She didn't know a thing about him. He was mostly quiet during school except to defend his clan's name, from what she'd caught—something that Shina found odd, since he didn't seem to have one. That was really all she'd picked up during their time together in the academy.

Maybe it wouldn't be all bad. Sure, Haruka was outgoing and loud and liked to express her opinions; sure, maybe Ryūji was quiet and possibly easily upset, but as long as Shinakichu didn't do or say anything that would put her at odds with anyone, maybe she would be able to make friends with them. It wasn't like she could just get away with avoiding them for the whole time. After all, from what she could tell, these types of teams usually lasted until the next Chunin Exams, which was almost exactly a year away. Taking a deep breath, Shina let it out slowly, and looked back to her homeroom teacher. It would feel odd not being instructed by Shino-sensei anymore.

She leaned forwards, pressing her cheek against her hand with her elbow on the table and continued listening to her teacher list off the new teams for this year. The main thing that concerned her was the fact that she had practically no skill as a ninja. Would they make fun of her? Haruka was an Uchiha—the daughter of aunt Sakura and the infamous Sasuke, while Ryūji was one of her class's top students. They were on another level than Shinakichu, who had cared more about making friends and maintaining relationships than learning skills to pass the graduation exam.

To put it bluntly, she wasn't very excited about being assigned to Squad 7, or meeting her new teammates.

Some say that the flames of Hell burn cold. Sasuke Uchiha didn't believe in this rumor personally, but he understood what the saying meant now.

When he'd first started this journey, it was a way to atone. To redeem himself to some extent, repent from the sins that he'd done and the people he had hurt. He wanted to right his own wrongs, explore the world and experience it in a new light; protect everyone from behind the scenes, like his brother had tried to do many years ago. It had gone well, all things considered, but his journey of atonement was sidelined for the Ōtsutsuki. He couldn't stop thinking about the possibility that another one of Kaguya's kind could invade his planet, hurt his friends and family... not to mention the fact that she had an army of Zetsu ready to wage war for an unknown purpose.

Now here he was, in another of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's dimensions. Unlike the ones Sasuke had been to before, this one was entirely coated in snow and ice, and not even the layers of clothing or the scarf he wore dulled the cold. The place was unforgiving, without any patch of warmth or forgiveness, but from what he could tell, this was the last dimension under the control of the Ōtsutsuki Team 7 had sealed during the war. If there wasn't anything here, then that would end his investigation, and he would return empty-handed with none of the information he sought.

While trudging through the snow, Sasuke's entire body felt like it had developed a sheet of frost. He'd allocated some Chakra into warming himself up, but if he used a Fire Jutsu and there happened to be someone—or something—else in this dimension with him, he would run the risk of being detected. If combat ensued, then Sasuke would be at a disadvantage; he was shivering, and several inches of snow coated the ground, rendering him almost completely immobile. It would end before he could react.

As long as he kept funneling and heating his Chakra at a manageable level, he would be confident in his own safety. Thankfully, whatever it was that he'd managed to sense earlier seemed to be nearby; Sasuke estimated only a few more miles before arrival at whatever it was. He hoped this had all been worth it, but even if it wasn't, at least he would be satisfied knowing he did all he possibly could. Either way, Sasuke Uchiha's journey was coming to a close.

Haruka was honestly not very surprised with how the teams had turned out - even her own seemed oddly appropriate. She could almost imagine the Hokage snickering into his far-too long sleeves as he sorted her team out. She was frankly more incredulous at the universe itself, for allowing this fabulous joke of a team to form.

Haru glanced behind her shoulders to glimpse at both of her teammates. Ryuji was.... Fine. No, that was being too mean. He was a perfectly good, perfectly decent person, as far as she knew. She knew that he'd be a vital part of whatever kind of team they'd form, and yet Haru couldn't shake the nagging feeling that his personal baggage attached to his clan would come to bite them in the future. Her being who she was, Haru could definitely feel the creeping sensation of fate gnawing at her ankles.

As for Shina, Haru had come into contact a few times with her in the past - half of which were orchestrated by the Hokage, who seemed oddly determined to set them up together as friends. The other half, of course, were organized by Haru herself, out of sheer curiosity and little else. What could she say - the red haired girl was a true mystery to her, having rebuffed Haru's many attempts at conversation and camaraderie, and always having this.... strangely nervous energy about her. If nothing else, Haru was glad that the two of them would have to get to know each other, now.

Haru's sensei proved a huge blind spot in her mind, an especial annoyance considering Haru considered herself somewhat "in the know" when it came to even middling ranked jonin in the village. It's not like there were a ton of them, of course.

In any case, Haru tentatively closed her eyes in anticipation, letting out a small smile as images of the future flashed before her imagination.

Opening her eyes once again, she turned once more to look straight at both Ryuji and Shina, giving each of them a slight wink before turning back to face the front once again.

Ryūji Sakurai

59yhqoQKDTSA57z8NGUpJx-PCjplQOdIo4aIQ6b7UWM5TZfEI0FYTDFntoN4y-h46y7ZG0XoM8Y8xYHXLLAKM-BruzmIdPj8lwVAQln5s76SHgNif02JWTwbM299V_CLoxY16CJE
Sitting in the back of the class, his chin resting upon both his hands Ryūji sighed when the teams where listed off. “It seems like Lord Hokage decided to do something troublesome.” Ryūji thought to himself as his grass green eyes surveyed the room, landing upon the two who would become his teammates.

“So Haraka Uchiha and Shinakichu Uzumaki…” Ryūji didn’t really have much opinion about them other than the observations gathered through classes and tests. Haraka was in Ryūji’s opinion annoying, it always seemed like she had something to say to people and was one of the louder students within their class. Thankfully, she didn’t bother him much during their time in the academy, other than that she was useful, talented and with her bloodline is a valuable asset on their team.

On the other hand Shinakichu was someone who Ryūji found not all that interesting, sure she was the daughter of the annoying Lord Hokage but she didn’t stand out much to him. Her grades weren't anything to admire and it seemed like her focus was to hang around with 'friends' rather than develop her skills. “At least she was quiet…” Ryūji pondered to himself, however was somewhat irked at the idea of being teamed with such baggage as a teammate.

But in the end what annoyed him the most was their apparent Jounin sensei, despite the Lord Hokage placing his daughter and his best friend’s child on the same team Ryūji had expected the sensei to be someone better known. It would be disappointing if their sensei was someone who was just an average Jounin. But in the end it didn’t matter who he was teamed up with, his strength was enough to carry his weight on the team so long as the other two didn't slow him down.

Ryūji sighed once more before catching Haraka winking at him and the Uzumaki, he merely ignored her, ran his left hand through his sakura pink hair and reaching into his inner jacket pocket and pulled out a book, upon its front page was written the words “Icha Icha Paradise - A Story by Jiraiya”. He opened up to where he last left off in the novel before a singular thought came into his mind which he quickly dismissed “Though they are both pretty cute… I guess that’s a plus.”

Asami is taking a deep breath, she has her first genin team to lead and she wasn't even that much older then the kids, she also has no clue how to go about this 'assignment' she was given for one reason or another. She was used to solo missions, not leading a team of people she needed to keep safe. "Damn Shikamaru and damn Hokage." she mumbles quietly under her breath, wondering why Konohamaru couldn't do it, he has more experience then she has and is probably a better fit then she is.

Though she wondered if it was on purpose, her father led the previous team 10 and she guessed that now it was her turn, she glances at the genin and lets out a sigh, she would manage, if she could find someone who could give her advise. Hey eyes land on the jonin in charge of team 7 and she gives a slight grin, well she found who she was gonna ask for advise if she need it it, though with only one student, that and she could use someone to complain to who wasn't part of her family.
-----
Kimiko frowns, guess there weren't people for her to be teamed up with and they were low on jonin too apparently, she wants to slouch in her seat, not wanting to think about how disappointing her parents will be when she comes home and tells them she's not in a team, she could continue training on her own, well with her ninneko anyway, speaking off her ninneko, where did Yami go this time, probably hiding in the shadows, it is why she gave it that name in the first place. She'd wait for the ceremony to be over to sulk, she was finally fitting in too.

Since her clan wasn't living there during the war, or before that, she was an outside and now she was teamless, great, she glances at the other genin and sinks down into her seat slightly, maybe she could bother one of the jonin to train her with her water jutsu? If they weren't assigned any teams anyway. What did it matter anyway? All she had was the very basic medical jutsu, her ninneko Yami and her taijutsu skills.

Shikamaku was finally on a squad, the new team 10. 'What a drag.' She thought in her mind as she heard the genin teams being announced. Of course Lord Seventh was the sentimental type, having but together his kid, Shinakichu, and Sasuke and Sakura's child, Haraka, on a team together. And with the addition of Ryuji Sakurai, it almost seemed like the old team 7 in new skins. Her eyes then glanced over to Kimiko, she ended up without a team, maybe she could ask her to switch with her own team. With that thought, Shikamaku's teammates on Team 10, the new Ino-Shika-Cho. She wondered if they would live up to the old one, they had done so many great things during their generation, even Asuma had told them that their Ino-Shika-Cho formation was perfect. Her father was the advisor to the Hokage, a job she wanted in the future. One of her teammates, Inotaki Yamanaka, she'd practically grown up with him, seeing as Shikamaru, Ino, and Chouji were all still very close to each other. Then she thought about their sensei, Asami Sarutobi, Shikamaku had honestly not expected her. She knew her growing up, her father was really close to Asuma's family so that wasn't a surprise, but she expected Konohamaru to lead their generations Ino-Shika-Cho. This was all a surprise to her. During team formations, neither the Hokage nor her own father, let her help out in the formation of teams, she didn't even get a peek at them until they were announced today. 'What a drag' She thought once more before looking back up at the clouds from the window.

Uzumaki Naruto finally finished with the list and took a breath. "Now that that's over with," he said, holding a thumbs up accompanied with another smile. The bandaged prosthetic arm stuck out from underneath his cloak, a reminder of all he'd gone through to get where he was. "I'm counting on everyone to carry on the Will of Fire to these new genin. Entrusting the future of our village won't be easy, but I know you can do it!"

For a brief moment he kept the thumbs-up held, but eventually dropped it and raised the Hokage's hat to his head. "Missions will be starting two weeks for now, starting with D-rank. That'll conclude the ceremony."

As the other students of the academy stood from their desks, Shinakichu did the same, and stretched her arms. The Squad list had been given out, so she assumed that meant she needed to hook up with her two teammates and find their sensei. It should be easy, right? Just go up to them and hang around until Kitaka-sensei appeared and introduced herself. Most of the students were dispersing, going off to meet their respective Jonin, so Shina cut through them in search of Haruka or Ryuji. Anxiety still swelled in the back of her mind but she did her best to ignore it for now.

Asami sighs and looks in the ground of genin, looking for her team and she waits somewhere they can easily spot her, fiddling with the sleeves of her shirt, she's nervous to say the least. She could also go greet the kids, well she knew Maku, but other then that didn't really pay much attention to the kids of the previous ten 10. "Might as well." she mumbles and she walks to Maku with a smile "Yo Maku." she says "I almost didn't think it was possible for you to look bored today."
--------
Kimiko leaves the room and picks up her ninneko on the way, heading to her clans training ground, she wasn't carrying her weapons, but there would likely be someone to spar against regardless. She's petting Yami's head absendmindely, her companion just snuggles closer "Maybe I can talk to Shikamaru, maybe they forgot I was on the list." she mumbles "Then again, he's not one to miss important details, he wouldn't be the hokage's adviser otherwise.", she needed to stop talking to her companion, it rarely spoke back anyway, but there was no one else who she could talk to now anyway, everyone's meeting their assigned jonin.

"And why do you say that, this whole day is a drag." Maku responded when she saw Asami and proceeded to walk to her. "So what do you have planned for today?" She asked the jounin expecting her to say training of some kind, or a bell test like Kakashi did back in the day. Her eyes glanced around for Inotaki, since he was part of their squad. She started to wonder, would he get Sai's Super Beast Scroll, or his mother's Mind Transfer Jutsu. For the tradition to carry on, he'd have to get the latter but Maku was sure she could think of a formation where the Super Beast Scroll was used instead of the Mind Transfer Jutsu, though it would take a lot of experimentation and trial and error.

Shinju was just sitting at the corner desk over in the back, shying away and just resting his chin on his hand as they were going over the lists having a habit of biting his lip a little as he was thinking of what was to come now they were to have missions and what his teammates could be like but he snapped out of it once the hokage was done which he grabs his bag and stands from his seat stretching out his legs a bit as he turned to the window for a moment as this whole team thing was going to be a big step forward for all of them in their goal to be a full fledged shinobi, he glanced around at the other students briefly, with a tight grip of the strap of his bag.

Mitsuza Kitaka

The genin team ceremony was always a bittersweet moment. It was the dawning of a new generation of shinobi, the beginning of a series of tests that would strengthen or break these new recruits and decide their place as Leaf Village ninja. It was also a reminder of genin teams past and present, the Will of Fire was strong and the cycle of Konoha nin was never ending, even with their decreased numbers. Many good ninja had died fifteen years ago, Taiyou included, and with the new era of peace there were fewer academy students eager to become jonin.

It was nerve-wrecking for Kita as she waited for Naruto to announce the teams. Being picked as an instructor when there were so few needed was a big deal, and with so few nin running around they had to train their genin teams to be the best of the best. Which gave even more reason for Kita to be shocked as Naruto-sama listed off her genin team, his face unable to hide his excitement at the new teams. Being the instructor of Team 7 was an honor, but Kita was beginning to worry that she was unqualified. She’d been ANBU for years, chased down rogue nin and battled them in tricky situations and harsh conditions, as well as serving as the Hokage’s personal guard. But none of that compared to the terror of a genin team.

Not wanting to seem ungrateful, Kita smiled back at the Hokage and made a mental note to bug Kakashi later. No one knew how to handle the Uchiha and Uzumaki’s better than he did. Hopefully, this new generation was less…intense than their parents. Something made her doubt that would be the case, however.

From being in the Hokage’s personal guard, Kita knew quite a bit about the young Uzumaki. Shinakichu was a quiet girl, much unlike her father. There was so much potential power to tap into with that girl, as long as she could bring her out of her shell. At least she wouldn't have to worry about Shinakichu being as much trouble as her bull-headed father. Kita knew less about the Uchiha girl, but it seemed she might be taking the place of team troublemaker if the chatter she'd heard held any truth. The third member, Ryūji, was more of a mystery than the rest. She'd heard what had happened to the boys clan, a tragedy similar to the Uchiha's so many years ago. The dynamic of the team made her nervous, but Kita was determined to be the best sensei for her team.

With a grin that was more confident than she felt, Kita approached her genin team. "Hello, my lovely little students. Obviously, you all know each other. I'm Kitaka Mitsuza, however you may call me Kita-sensei." The kunoichi greeted, offering a little wave to the three genin stood before her. "Seeing as we don't know one another very well, I'd like to assess your talents for myself at Training Ground 3."

Taki was.... thoroughly unimpressed with their jounin. He hadn't interacted with Asami before, but he was aware of her existence, vaguely. That said, what little he'd seen hardly manifested the air of someone he'd want to aspire to be, let alone be taught by. He barely stifled a roll of his eyes as he echoed Maku's words with an empty flourish.

"Indeed. I do hope we get to something new - we're genin now, after all."

Haru turned towards both Ryuji and Shina, but quickly nodded at Kita's words, "It's good to meet you, Kita-sensei! I'm sure we won't disappoint - I hope, at least!" She added a toothy grin to her words, though internally she was already beginning to think over whatever starting exercise their sensei would have them attempt. Haru knew of teams that had been failed on their first day - her father's team 7 had almost ended like that - but she doubted Kita-sensei would do such a thing. Who would be such a fool as to fail the daughters of the Hokage and the Last Uchiha?

Well, she mused, she could just fail Ryuji. That would totally be possible, if unlikely.

Shaking her head out of its endless contemplation, Haru turned once again to her team mates.

"So! I'd be lying if I said I didn't kind of expect this, but I do hope for the best with our team! We're filling some pretty big shoes, after all."

Ryūji Sakurai

At the sound of what was supposed to be his new sensei, Ryūji slowly closed his book making a mental note of where he left off, stood up from his seat, and walked towards Kitaka Mitsuza. Standing in front of her with the two others he ignored the nervous look on the Uzumaki’s face and whatever the Uchiha girl was musing about in her head. He placed his right hand fist into his left hand palm and gave a hold fist salute, his attention solely forcused on trying to discern their instructor, he couldn’t understand why she was placed in charge of the three but this supposed evaluation of the group’s talents would be insightful towards that.

After processing all that information and coming to an answer, Ryūji’s right hand reached to his side to feel the sheath of his family's greatest heirloom, the foundation of his clan, the Hanabira Saku. He let a small sigh of relief escape him, “Thankfully I remembered to bring you along…” he softly muttered to himself before collecting his thoughts and calmly replying “Hai, Kita-sensei” heading out of the room and leaving towards Training Ground 3 without another word.

Assess your talents for myself. Shinakichu hated those words. Especially now that they were coming from her new sensei, who Shina knew would probably be as hard on her as she would with the rest of Team 7. From now on, she had to try her best if she didn't want to be looked down on, or made fun of, or mocked because of her ineptitude despite her heritage and bloodline.

Haruka began to speak a lot—something that the Uzumaki had easily expected. That much wasn't too hard to predict based on what she already knew. Haru stated the obvious, that they were to be the successors of her father's Team Seven, and that a lot was going to expected from them. It only helped to feed Shinakichu's anxieties about the situation. Sure, maybe Haruka and Ryuji could live up to those expectations. They were knowledgeable and skilled (especially Ryuji, who had better grades than most people in the class), but Shina? It was hard for her to see herself in that situation. To see herself on such a pedestal meant that she amounted to something, and at her current state, that was too far to reach.

"Y-yeah," she nodded in response to Haruka. "I'm sure we're gonna do fine."

After Ryuji gave his reply to their sensei, Shina took haste in separating herself from the awkwardness of the situation and followed him out of the room. The words Training Ground 3 echoed in her mind out of fear she'd forget where they were supposed to be meeting.

Finally.

Through cold winds where snow blew through the air, Sasuke Uchiha finally caught a glimpse of his destination. Situated upon a hill made of snow, a spherical palace with several spires surrounding the main structure stood.

Stood was a strong word. The building was in tatters; the top of the main spherical building had been busted inwards, and the exterior had developed several layers of spiked ice, especially closer to the ground. He made a mental note to be careful when he got there, but wasn't slow to approach in any regard. The closer he got, the more that the place was underwhelming. From afar, it looked like a castle of sorts. A palace where, perhaps, Kaguya once resided. However now that he stood here at its entrance, he realized it was merely a shell of whatever it had once been.

Nevertheless, he couldn't waste any time. Sasuke didn't sense anyone else's chakra or life force, but that most definitely didn't mean that nobody else was here with him. He needed to get in, find what he could find, and then leave.

Asami chuckles at Maku "Why don't I tell you that when we get everyone?" she asks with a smile "Although I do wonder why Konohamaru wasn't assigned this position, but we can ask Shikamaru later." she points out. Don't get her wrong, she's honored to be picked, but there must be more qualified Jonin "Let's go to training ground 2 and there I will tell you what I have planned." She says. Sure the bell test had crossed her mind, but she has something else, that and she hadn't been able to get her hands on any bells anyway, though that was a good way to test their teamwork "On second thought, I'll see you there. I need to grab something." she says and heads off, she also stops by Shikamaru to tell him they left team 2 without jonin, which could've happened in Naruto's excitement, but still.
------
Kimiko eventually settles for sitting on the roof of her house, looking at the sky, how did they forget to assign a jonin she'll never know, but it happened, then she hears her mother calling her for lunch, so she heads over, instantly getting questioned about the team assignments. "It was fine I guess. The Hokage's a but sentimental and remade team 10 and almost made an exact replica of his own old team, so yeah." she answers quietly, she was a little disappointed, but she couldn't do anything about it, she's not gonna mention her team doesn't have a jonin, her grandmother would go straight to the Hokage's office and scold him until he treats her dear granddaughter right.

Shinju goes for something in his bag, pulling out a water bottle to take a swig of before placing it in his bag again once he was done with it and he watches the others go off with jonin to their assigned teams, so he was part of team 2 but he didn't have a jonin to report to so he puts his hands on his hips and let out a sigh."No need to stick around here then..." He mumbled to himself, maybe he could go off about his own business and find something to do or simple go home but then his parents would question him on the day, about his team who he his only teammate currently was Kimiko and in which they didn't have jonin for the team, he decides to simply try and sneak off and grab a snack and go for a walk.

Kimiko goes out after lunch to avoid further questioning and she sighs in relief as she feels Yami lay down in her neck "Time to find my teammate." she says, going to the village again, taking a spring before jumping on the gate before moving to the rooftops, trying to see if she can find Shinju so they could maybe train together or whatever, she figured he's not gone home, parents are always so excited about team assignments. When she sees him she jumps down "Shinju! Wanna spar for a bit in the forest? I mean, it's not like we have something super important to do and I'm itching to spend time away from my family." she says with a slight smile while Yami sits up to inspect the boy.

Shinju was just leaving a little shop at he grabbed a small snack, he was nearly startled as Kimiko had jumped down infront of him and her raised voice taking a small defensive stance for a moment before lowering his guard, he glanced at Yami briefly."Uh hi." He gives a small wave."I mean it's not like I have anything else I got to do except just to home, it's not like we have a joinin for the team anyway either." He walks by her to go in the direction of the village entrance giving a small sharp toothed grin."So sure, why not? Can't go falling behind the other teams and have them show us up, it's just the two of us too so let's get training and improving our skills." He smiles at her.

Ryūji Sakurai
1651774516508.png
Arriving at training ground 3, the location of which they where to hold an assessment for their new Sensei. Ryūji looked around and studied the typography of the area, except for the center of the training grounds being plains and the nearby river, the rest of the area seemed to be dense forests. “Typical for Konoha, makes sense…” he thought to himself as he completed his evaluation of the area, while he does not know what the assessment will be, it can never hurt to be prepared.

Next, holding one side of his neck with his hand, he cracked his neck, shook each part of his body and started stretching. Limbering up his body, making sure the muscles are loose, he ignored the others behind him as he prepared for their sensei to arrive.

Ryūji started making rough estimates on what their sensei would make them do, “Maybe compete against one another? No, then it would be unfair for the other two.” Ryūji thought to himself, “However it is a possibility as she could focus on the Uzumaki girl with that excuse.” he rubbed his right shoulder, feeling the uneven burn scars through the cloth and fabric of his clothes.

Perhaps it’s a team exercise? Wouldn’t be much of a team exercise then an escort mission then. After all there is no way that our sensei would injure the other two given their parents. Ah who knows maybe I am mistaken and we are just gonna do a display. Either way I’ll make sure to excel.” He sighed, running his hand through his pink hair as he looked at the other two, studying them before continuing his warm ups.

Finishing up his warm ups he walked up towards a tree, and leaning on it took out his book, opened it to the page he was last left on and continued reading.

"Yeah, besides, maybe we'll get a jonin and I doubt that person would want us to have slacked off." Kimiko says with a smile following him "Though... if my family finds out this team doesn't have a jonin..." she trails off. Team assignments were important, probably just as important as the chunin exams, but to end up without jonin isn't good "So, do your parents know about this situation or?" she asks quietly.

Shinju walks with her."No, I haven't been home to speak with them because of that so I just went for a wall and got a snack but they do know I was to be assigned a team and jonin." He shrugged, he sighed."Wonder why we weren't assigned a joinin..." He mumbles a little."I have been trained a little by my father, what about you?" He asks her.

Shikamaku just sighed and nodded her head towards her sensei. With that she made her way over to the training grounds and just decided to wait. Finding a tree to provide some shade, she laid down with her hands behind her head, and watched the clouds aimlessly. Her head filled with shogi tactics, battlefield strategies, and sometimes it just went blank as she watched the clouds aimlessly pass by. She just stayed like that, shielded from the sun, until something or someone interrupted moment of silence.

"My clan trains with each other quite often, though the younger kids get group training until we decide what weapon we want to use." Kimiko explains "And family is important to us, if my grandmother learns we have no jonin I fear for the Hokage." she adds, yeah, she didn't want her grandmother to know, she'd get very angry. "We're already outsiders, so I imagine none of them will take kindly to this.", it's a well known fact her clan moved there a few years after the war ended, at least she always enjoyed messing with their 'rival' clan, as their ninneko calls them.

Asami grabs the old bells and stops seeing a picture of her father, she's not going to let him down, she nods heads off towards the Hokages tower first, hoping to find Shikamaru or Naruto.

Shinju gets to the training grounds with her."Outsiders so you're new here? I've mostly known this place but part of my heritage comes from another village but I mean I've been raised here I sometimes feel out of place here just sometimes though." He shrugs and grabs at the ninjato at his hip, the smaller blade was easier to carry around with him and he sighed thinking of how his mother would react about the teams and them having no jonin."My mother would have a field day if she knew about not being assigned a jonin I would fear her, father might take it better than her." He bites his lip a little."Being a swordsman runs in the family I suppose as well as our special nature transformation technique of the Hozuki clan so I've had alot of practice on that stuff." He explains.
