The Silent Z The Silent Z its a pleasure to be on board! I wanted to run by you first before I start making a character if it's alright for them to have Fire nature?
They're primarily a close range fighter as well. I didn't see a character in the group that revolved around getting up close and personal

Ginko The Mushishi Ginko The Mushishi Takigakure does have plenty of water nature shinobi but no reason not to go another route imo, fire release is fine. Close range specialist should be fine as well, the role player we lost was the weapons/close range fighter of the team. Crayon’s the medical/plants/genjutsu specialist, Elena’s Jonin kinda versatile but more ranged capable with her elements at play. So I’d say your character idea from what I see from early description works well here.

Poll question (sorts): I’ve been with my free time have been trying to figure out how my Yori will develop abilities wise. Element release wise he will eventually add water to his Yang. But have been trying to figure out what would be fitting additions to his arsenal of skills, thoughts on expanding his venture in Fuinjutsu from generic sealing technique for his two supplies scrolls into something more was one idea.

Thought about some ninja arts outside of his hiden. But blanking on ideas, currently his style is based around his hiden, incorporating traps into his fighting style which can lead to a excessive use of ninja tools at times. So adding some trap based techniques and/or tool related is one thought.

Also considered a specific weapon for him to train in, Tanto was one idea, Kusarigama was one before the rp began and we got our Jonin role approved. However one idea that keeps coming back was the Fuma shuriken and building a fighting style around it for Yori.

So since I’m one of those who likes to talk ideas out was wondering if you folks would mind pitching in some of your thoughts?

The Silent Z The Silent Z im a sucker for the Fuma Shuriken. They're probably my favorite tools in Naruto universe.
But I do like the idea of creating traps, characters like those are always fun to have and plan ahead in the heat of battle. I think I like the trap based style more.

Ginko The Mushishi Ginko The Mushishi Asuma’s chakra knives, Kusarigama, Staff and the Fuma shuriken were favorites of mine that got far less attention compared to the many swords and etc out there. Imo the Fuma shuriken was underrated and underused in Naruto, it had nice potential.

Yori already uses plenty of ninja tools to create make shift traps and etc, so adding trap based/themed jutsu seems quite fitting and most obvious. Also would mean he unknowingly turned himself into a combination of his parents as one used the clan hiden and the other trap based techniques and fighting style. But I agree it’s a fun role to play and Yori has the combat style and mind to fill the role, it helps make up for his limitations where his hiden is concerned and the toll it takes if used over long periods.

Ok folks Crayons Crayons ElenaIsCool ElenaIsCool Ginko The Mushishi Ginko The Mushishi a small update:

I understand the schedule in Rl with homework and work has put delays into our storyline, However to help prevent other potential possibilities that could occur unintentionally, I’ll be moving turns from Elena to Ginko. Gives a Elena a bit more time while still giving us a small move forward assuming Ginko is ready and doesn’t mind jumping in a tad sooner then previously mentioned.

Thanks,
Toast

All good!

I haven't replied here for a bit because the development of techniques and such was too much for my brain to handle, although I do like discussing them, usually.

I think traps would be awesome and really tie in well with Suiren's genjutsu if we could set up scenarios that merge the two together in a battle formation. With Mr Flame-io in the team (hi Ginko!) he will be super useful as a distraction/bait.

As far as unusual weapons go I'm a big fan of kusarigama as a thing. They are hard to use, but really fun to RP with as you have to think about what you're doing and the combat becomes a bit less slash-slash-dodge. Also if Yori used his extendy arms he could have fun with destroying the enemy's perception of his chain range and really do some messing up when he engages them.

I think Sajin's mother probably knows Suiren's aunt quite well. A florist and a herbalist seem like natural allies. They can exchange plant tips and such. :) So it's possible that Suiren and Sajin knew each other from a young age, but mostly I just like the idea of aunt being all "oh lily of the valley, did you know those are poisonous!" and Sajin's mom laughing nervously. Sajin's mom probably gets a kick out of all of Suiren's family being named after flowers.

I didn't put a chakra nature for Suiren yet but I'm thinking it would be Yin, then Water. Apparently genjutsu are Yin release mainly.

Developing characters techniques is easily a obstacle for me with certain builds. So I understand from both angles of coming at it.

Traps wise- It’s the most easily accomplished and fitting option for Yori of whom uses makeshift traps already to limit himself hiden wise and if the tactics fit in other scenarios. But fit wise for the team it also adds another element of combo attacks and plans. Definitely agree here! The options are abound with the traps going hand in hand with Suiren’s genjutsu while using Sajin as distraction bait.

Weapons Wise- While adding trap techniques over time will come. I’m thinking of adding a weapon as well, due to the nature of Yori’s fighting style and Sajin’s being similar while taking into account the minor differences and more obvious ones, Yori will be developing his style more so then already planned, since Yani is out I’ve looked into weapons again. (Besides ninja tools) The Kusarigama is rather intriguing when you take that into account, also gives a specific training Hikari could mentor Yori in.

So I’m liking the traps and Kusarigama ideas for Yori. Seems like the breakdown as it stands now outside of Hikari who has the most versatile style and options: I figure; Sajin (Close range offensive specialist) Suiren (Genjutsu, Plants/medical specialist) Yori (Sensor, Tools/Trap, Defense)
To keep things a bit more unique between them leaving out similarities in the breakdown. Could be wrong but I imagine Yori still fits the defensive specialist/or shield of the team role. Due to how many ways he can use his hiden defensively.

Sounds cool 😎 nice ties for you two there.

Sounds like Yori and his Yang nature. But true, Yin seems fitting as first nature.

Yeah I think we have a pretty diverse team. Maybe if Yori is mainly defence, he could focus on weapons that are more used to shield or disarm. Maybe a chain (Kusari without the gama) is more a defensive style?

Yin and Yang makes a nice combo I think. XDD

Partially that’s his build originally, so making him defensive primary in team situations makes sense. On the topic of weapons for Yori and this build I’d say a specializing in such weapons that focus on defense and disarming makes further sense and even a Kusari then a kusarigama to account for different situations makes sense too. Allows for a defensive specialist build while still having a bladed option for certain situations as well.

It does make for a awesome combo! Xd we shall have our own Yin and Yang combo here.

We should make so many combo moves for the team. XD Yin/Yang combo, Fire/Water combo, Trap combo. XD

Crayons Crayons That's Flameio Hotman to you xD (Avatar reference YEET) Also HELL YEAH that would be amazing for Suiren and Sajin. That's finna be it I'm clocking it in.
Ooooh steam release would be so fun for the group, especially with Sajin turning up the HEAT.
The Silent Z The Silent Z I don't mind jumping in early! If anything I can get a post up tonight just to kick things in gear for us!

Oof that’s more time for me then!
Ey The Silent Z The Silent Z does Yori have a kusarigama? I was thinking about Hikari giving the team gifts for passing the Chunin Exams
He doesn’t have one yet, no. But that sounds awesome!

I’m thinking about Suiren and Sajin’s gifts...

I’m thinking teaching Suiren a new jutsu? Book on poison?? Idk really

Yo Ginko The Mushishi Ginko The Mushishi whats a good gift for Sajin?
Food can be adequate! XD Although if its more personal, I do intend to have Sajin grow with his ninjutsu, as some of them at the moment aren't perfected yet. Perhaps a scroll explaining fire ninjutsu more in depth, that was bought for him during the travels to the Chunin Exams could be an appropriate gift? Though his improvements won't be seen until later in the game.
