What are hybrids?

Well, perhaps you guessed that they are part human, as well as part supernatural creature. All hybrids differ in how they were created-- some are from hybrid families who know what their child is. Some hybrids are a rarity, proof of a secret in their family line. Hybrids are the only supernatural creatures who have the true identity of a human, yet also the imprint of a supernatural-- which is why they are dangerous. Supernaturals belong to a separate community in dimensional pockets found all over the human world. They keep away from us as we do them, but when a supernatural and a human have a child, they are called a hybrid. The hybrid is usually brought to a pocket dimension where their human identity essentially dies off, and they are their stronger, supernatural self.

However, there are exceptions to this custom.

Hybrid families have undergone training in order to control their supernatural halves, and in turn, be permitted to live in the human dimension. Although, this comes with a cost. Training a hybrid is like taming the devil, for the polarity of a supernatural creature and a human creates a war inside their bodies that can only be controlled by the breaking of a naturally stronger supernatural spirit, and the strengthening of a human identity. This process takes time, and some hybrids are agonized by their uncooperative supernatural sides. It's as if there is another person controlling them, two souls occupying one vessel.

Training groups are all called by different names across the world, but essentially entail the same processes-- forcing the supernatural half to become submissive to the human half.

Coffeehouse Vulpina.

A modern contrast to the retro styled buildings of this city, Vulpina is a newly refurbished and exceedingly popular landmark of Lecanora. Her polished interior is both impressively classy and eerily sterile. You've spent some time here before despite it being slightly unsettling-- the coffee is unmatched in richness and flavor. At times you wonder if it's even of this world.







Downtown.

A pretty standard place where people gather to have some fun. There are lots of restaurants and a few clubs here and there, which you will admit look a little tempting to venture into. It looks over a canal that lots of people go by on their expensive luxury yachts. You're a little envious of that freedom.


Niva.

This basement level room is where you will spend most of your time as a member of Niva. It captures the old historical and original style of the building, everything left untouched. Although it is below ground, there is a large window on the right wall that has a clear image of the outside... but which outside?
