Bonjour! Let me first introduce you to the world of Mystic, which is based originally off an old role play a friend and I did years ago that I've now turned into a novel since most if not all the plot was of my own creative process.
The world of Mystic is based on the current world in contemporary times, save for one thing: Tech is more advanced and the world has superhumans called Mystics. The world functions much like Dragon Ball Z in that it is combat-focused. Below is more of an introduction:
Genre:Action, Adventure, Comedy, romance.
Similiar to:Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super
Mystics: Beings blessed by the Gods before birth to possess supernatural powers, including enhanced strength, speed, durability and heal factors.
Types: Seekers and Keepers
- Seekers nor Keepers are inherently evil, one just had domain or control over shadow while the other is light. These are known as primordial powers.
Basic abilities:
- Manipulation of light and shadow (primordial)
- Teleporting (shadow realm for Keepers)
- Light/Shadow Beams
- Light/Shadow explosions (Think Ki in DBZ)
- High-speed travel/Shadow-stepping (Think how they move so fast in DBZ that they vanish or Flash-Step, also subject to name-change.)
- Light/Shadow Aura
- Transformation (shadow and zodiac, for Keepers only) and summons (for Seekers)
- Fusion (Requires at least two people to collectively focus their energy together)
History:
Zeus created the Mystics as a means of controlling problems and dealing with monsters. All fabled heroes of the real world were mostly Mystics, such as Hercules, and Villians, like Hitler.
The first Keeper and Seeker were two of the strongest heroes and Mystics to exist, they eventually battled one another. The Seeker was victorious.

Zodiac Powers:
Capricorn= Psychic Power
Aquarius= Water
Pisces= Nature
Aries= Battle Spawning (weapons, armor, stuff like that)
Taurus= Earth
Gemini=Lightning
Cancer=Shape Shifting
Leo= Fire
Virgo= Wind
Libra= Gravity
Scorpio= Poison
Ophiuchus= Time (One person may have this every 1,000 years)
Sagittarius= Crystal
Power-ups:
There are certain things that can make the Seekers and Keepers stronger.
Seeker power-ups: Seekers are strongest during the day, the more sunlight there is the stronger they get, however during the night they get weaker. But on a sunny and cloudless day, they get the full power up from the sun.
Keeper power-ups: Keepers are strongest during the night, the more moonlight there is the stronger they become so if the moon is full they get the maximum power up from the moon.
Mutual power-ups: Both Keepers and Seekers become stronger when it is their zodiac signs time of the month, so as an example, now if it is march 8th so at that time anyone with an Aquarius sign would be at their strongest now. Keepers and Seekers also get stronger if they are holding their birthstones.
Birthstones are a multiplier.
Power multipliers
- Time of day/night: x5
- Birthday/Birthstones: x10 (They can be stacked with the stone and birthday, as well as the time of day)
- Zodiac aura/transformation/summon: x25
- Primordial aura: x50
- Primordial transformation: x100
- Olympian Form (A form that increased physical attributes): x500
- Fusion: x1000 (combines the strength and the two as well as enhances it.)
