Nolan Light is a bit of enigma to the public media. His existence is somewhat well-known, but hit parents don't mention him much. Those in the media who do locate him find him to be a boy of few words, and few recent pictures exist of him due to unwanted cameras tending to fry around him. Due to this, many view him as cold and maybe even stuck up. Nolan does little to dispel these thoughts. He tends to be cold to those around him but due to suspicion more than a sense of superiority. He has found most who have approached him with a friendly disposition in the past have done so with ulterior motives.

Despite this, Nolan tends to be very professional, and he will quickly conform to working with others if the situation requires. Nolan understands all too well that's he's not infallible and actually tends to belittle his own ability. This causes him to actively seek out allies as he believes such professional relations are his only real shot of climbing the ranks.

If one does manage to get close to him, they'll find him to be very thoughtful and protective of those he cares for. Nolan has found real friendships to be a rare commodity, and he highly values every one he makes. He is quick to deny any such feelings, and he will quickly wave aside any from of appreciation with "that's what friends do".

Nolan is the son of Powercrest, a hero with quirk that allows him to manipulate the kinetic energy on his body (such as absorbing blows and amplifying his own movements). A nationally ranked hero known for his pure combat ability, Powercrest was even known to take on international missions every now and then when there was a raid on a powerful villain organization. The other thing Powercrest is known for is being a playboy, party man who enjoys a lavish lifestyle. Ironically, if Powercrest actually bothered working on his public image, he probably could have broken the top 10 in the US rankings.

Nolan is also the son of the beautiful Voltaire. The hero celebrity extraordinaire. Her electric quirk made her stunning to villains and those who saw her on the big screen. From movies to missions to charity events, her work for the people never stopped . . . not even for her son.

Nolan was the result of a quirk marriage. After facing a powerful long-ranged villain, Powercrest found the limit of his quirk. He hoped that through a quirk marriage with a powerful ranged combatant, he could cultivate a quirk that had no such weak points. Voltaire, on the other hand, was looking to settle down, and found she would probably get a big boost in ratings if she managed to "tame" the "beast" that was PowerCrest. Thus the "Power Voltage" couple was born.

For a time, they seemed happy enough. However, they struggled to have a child which brought on a few marital tensions. Due to this, Nolan was considered a miracle child, and he was coddled early on by both parents. Tutoring him in many lessons, Voltaire and Powercrest believed they were quite possibly raising the next top hero.

Then everything came to a crashing halt when Nolan's quirk came to fruition. They couldn't understand why Nolan's electricity seemed to be weaker than his mother's, and why he seemed just about physically weaker in every way to his father. When the mechanics of Nolan's quirk were fully understood, the dream of him even being a hero died in their hearts let alone the number 1.

No longer believing himself able to achieve his initial goal, Powercrest fully immersed himself back to his hero work. Voltaire on the other hand found that, despite initially increasing, her ratings had began to slip since stepping out of the spot light to raise a child and also returned to her work. Now fully invested in their careers once more, this eventually caused the two heroes to agree to a divorce.

Nolan remained in "joint custody", but in reality was left in the capable hands of tutors and maids. His parents actively seek to avoid one another, but do visit him on occasion.

Nolan wishes to prove them both wrong; he's determined to prove himself to be a capable hero. He aims to surpass both his parents and prove himself worthy of acknowledgement.

The user can convert kinetic energy applied to his body into a electromagnetic energy he can store in his body.

Nolan would never admit it, but he secretly craves his parents' approval.
