Kurama studied the pair of Megas he'd called to meet with, crimson hues moving between the pair. "As the two of you heard this morning, the only way to secure Lugia's alliance is to retrieve his missing scale." He tapped a claw against a map spread out on the desk before him. "Now according to the god, this scale is in the possession of his fellow deity Celebi. Due to his . . . rather unusual tendency to almost always be moving between different time periods, finding his stance on current events has proven difficult."

The fox took a slow draw from the pipe that rested in his hand. "That said, it's rather well known that Celebi has always had a peaceful nature. The chances of this becoming dangerous are very slim," His eyes narrowed towards Pietra, "I do not want to hear about anyone trying to start something during this mission. Your mission is twofold: recover the scale without causing a scene and, if possible, learn Celebi's position on the upcoming events. Arceus seems to have begun setting things in motion, we need to know for sure who stands where. Gather your teams and head out to Ecruteak City, report in once you've arrived. You're dismissed."

*Note: if you wish you can play out rounding up the teams. Megas can play the NPCs or ask a GM if you'd prefer. Or you can fast forward to arrive in Ecruteak. Wolf, IG, I'll leave this to the two of you on where to begin.*

Celebi

The stage is set

  • The Shrinekeepers had managed to trim back Celebi's foliage, somewhat. At the very least, none of it was trying to consume any of the apprentices at the moment, and that was better than before. Still, any Nomemon that wasn't a Grass type and used to the fact that plants grew even faster than a metaphorical weed around the Time Traveling God would have thought that the "garden" that surrounded the temple itself was utterly out of control. Perhaps, if Moltres had agreed to send one of his Shrinekeeper Apprentices, there would have been less foliage. As it was, it looked like the plant life could have consumed a Nomemon at any given moment.

This foliage was especially thick around the entrance, and for an obvious reason; Celebi, himself, was sitting out there on a beanbag chair that he had brought out there himself, after stealing it from a convenience store that couldn't do much to stop the Nomemon from leaving with it. For one, he was a God, how could they stop him from leaving with something? Second, he could Time Tavel, they would never actually catch him even if he wasn't one of their Deities. Why had he stolen it instead of buying it? Well, for the same reason that he had stolen Lugia's Silver Scale! Well, no, not for the same reason. He had just compulsively taken the Scale on a visit to Lugia's shrine without thinking about what he was doing, and had only been conscious of what he had picked up when he arrived back at his own shrine. He had just wanted to aggravate a store owner in the past when he took the beanbag chair. Revenge was fun.

What he was doing while sitting in the chair was considerably less illegal; He had decided to start knitting to pass time. Not a sweater, because he wouldn't wear that due to his wigs, but a nice scarf. Now, he still didn't actually need this, but... Eh, maybe one of his Shrinekeepers would like it. Yes, that Weepinbell he had nearly killed by accident would look adorable with a scarf. Or maybe Moltres would like it. Yes, the Fire Bird was supposed to be visiting later, and Celebi was almost done with the scarf he was knitting, he would give it to him. This was the right day for Moltres's visit, right? Yeah, he was pretty sure that it was.

The Shrinekeepers were just generally avoiding the area in which he sat, and a majority of the apprentices were imitating their superiors or risking learning the hard way why trying to pull weeds around the God they served was a bad idea. Celebi didn't like violence and wouldn't have hurt the young Nomemon without reason, but if he wasn't paying attention, he wouldn't notice that the plants around him were trying to swallow someone whole. He could, of course, stop the plants from growing, but that took conscious effort. He couldn't make an effort to not let himself rapidly grow the plants around him and relax at the same time. If anyone needed him, he could just as easily make the plants around him shrink.
