Mission Files - OOC Talk

Sherwood Sherwood Are we still close enough to the ley line that I get triple my normal shape-shifting time?
Sorry for the wait in my reply. Yes, you are still in the Ley Line, and have the effects of the triple shape shift time.

Oh, looks like they "shadow updated" the Coalition War Campaign book as well, to revise it in line with the changes that happened in Rifts Ultimate Edition. Lots of OCCs got bonuses they didn't have before, especially Perception bonuses. I am making it a point of purchasing about one or two of the updated PDF World Books off of DriveThruRPG a month, since they're cheap. So far I just picked up the latest printing of RUE (probably not worth picking up if you already have it, no significant changes), The GM Kit (kinda neat for only $5, but not a game changer) World Book 10: Juicer Uprising (some OCC changes), and World Book 11: Coalition War Campaign (lots of OCC updates).

Let me know if you guys need them.

They would be a great addition to my PDF collection! Thanks much!

I have a lot of the 1st edition books. I have only a few of the 2nd edition, so I think that Vaneheart Vaneheart probably has more titles of the newest books than I do.

Just a rule question: Where exactly is the line between evil and supernatural evil? I'm wondering if my passive would be able to notice vampires, or if their evilness gets not detected.

I think like, humans with no magical/psi abilities, or non-supernatural beings, but are evil, wouldn't really show up unless they had direct evil intent against you at that very moment, and even that is debatable (see the Sense Evil psi power). Entirely GM discretion there. Inflicting harm isn't an evil act in of itself, but intent to harvest organs for the Demon Lords later might be.

Pretty sure vampires would show up automatically. Anything that is a supernatural being, but also of evil alignment, would show up, due to alignment radiation. I know that the psi power Mind Block blocks the psi power Sense Evil, but I don't know if that would work against the mystic's OCC ability. A high level evil magic user or psychic that isn't a supernatural being by itself might also show up at the GM's discretion, especially if it was in the middle of doing something evil. I would probably say a psycho-killer in the middle of an evil occult murder spree that wasn't a supernatural being, but actively doing insane evil stuff, would probably show up, or an evil-aligned magic artifact, object, or weapon (maybe even evil Biowizardry, or Blood Magic TW items) would probably show up, via the wording "possessed by a supernatural force."

Evil Fairy/Fae beings, being half-in, half-out of the supernatural being category (they are "Magical Beings" whatever that means rules-wise), would be entirely up to the GM. Evil Spirits, Ghosts, Astral planar beings, and possessing entities would show up, since that is a key part of the Mystic OCC in general.

EDIT: Probably wouldn't be able to Mind Block the OCC ability, since you can't Mind Block Psi Stalker abilities which are similar.

I'll wait until later tomorrow to post, since I've been a bit of a attention post whore lately. My other two games have slowed down to nothing since the site transition, so this is pretty much the only one I'm actively in at the moment.

On a side note, since this guy seems to be pretty good at getting weapons, I wonder if we could maybe negotiate for a certain percentage in stock on hand at a discount rate? Like, if we asked for $400k to find his sons, but we could instead be like, $400k, or $300k plus $200k worth of gear? Or even $300k, plus a 50% discount on various items he might have or might reasonably be able to get?. Or something along those lines. Equipment and assets. If I was a power armor or bionics/cybernetics guy, I would be all over this. That said, there are a few neat weapons/armor that Ozug would love to get, in addition to more efficient vampire slaying weapons other than squirt guns (still have to bypass any MDC armor or armor clothing first before squirt guns will work). Might need silver/wood melee weapons, reloads for rail guns, and other fun stuff to do the job.

Just a thought.

P.S. Payment for rescuing Rebecca was 400k in universal credits total, not 400k each, right?

I'm all in favor of securing advantages for the future, like getting a discount on future weaponry - in fact, I was thinking about reinvesting my share of the escort earnings right away, obviously in a way that fits Lizas worldview. Didn't manage to fit it in in tis post, but I'll probably approach our host in that regard before we start our hunt.

The payment total for getting Rebecca back was supposed to be 500,000; with 100,000 in advance. You now have 400,000 in credits and the six rifles.

You can absolutely ask for equipment that you can sell later on.

I'm still around. Just having a hard time keeping up with the volume, speed and quality of posts around here.

Just think of all the great xp you are earning for the quality role playing.

Oh, ok. I was worried that I was going a little overboard. Not getting my usual writing fix in, (other RPs are on hiatus, or waiting on players, and I finished my other writing work) so I'm spending more time on this. In my first RP on here, where I was playing a Private Investigator, I had posts slightly smaller than the large one I posted last night (not always, many were short, probably 50/50), and it turned into a big problem for the game, even though it was meant to be a detailed RP game (at least the way it was marketed to me initially). Posting speed was only about one post a week, so I started out making more detailed posts to make up for the slow rate. GM got pretty cross with me, although the other players seemed alright with it. I toned it down, although one guy in the RP took a lead and started writing posts nearly as big as mine. :-P

Thankfully that game has a new GM now, although she's having fun making fun of me for it.

I'll try to tone it down here though. Don't want to be THAT guy.

On a side note, is Ozug the only male in the party? I thought Grond was a dude?

That is true; Grond is a guy. And don't worry about the lengths of your posts. If they start to get too long, I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the quality and the detail that everyone is brining to the game.
