Estelle Ackley was born and raised in York to the Baron and Baroness Ackley, Robert and Louisa Ackley, along with her older sister Emma Ackley. Her family has acquired massive wealth over generations through the textile industry and are prominent figures in society. Stella has been raised to be a proper lady, constantly attending societal events in order to maintain the family's influence. Naturally outgoing and kind, Stella is popular in society and well known for being able to light up any parties she attends. She has grown to love these parties but is bored of having to be picture perfect all the time. She is rather spontaneous, and more often than not does not think things through, causing her mother to be harsh on her. Estelle loves chasing thrills and will takes risks in order to satisfy this need. Well acquainted with the rules of society, she does her best to remain proper but occasionally knowingly lets this perfection slip for the sake of having some fun.

Estelle has met the Duke at a couple high society parties and likely made an impression as the life of the party, causing her to be invited to the Duke's birthday ball. Her father has worked closely with the King a few times, and has introduced his family out of respect of the crown.

Robert Ackley is a Baron who's family has made a fortune through controlling much of the textile industry in England. Often coming across as intimidating, he is a cunning and strategic man when it comes to business and politics. However, has a soft spot for his family, especially Stella, and is rather kind when you get to know the man behind the money.

Louisa Ackley- Mother

Louisa Ackley came from a successful farming family. She is a social climber who will stop at nothing to have a plan in high society, finding an in through marrying Robert Ackley. Obsessed with appearance, Louisa has raised her two daughters with an iron fist, trying to find them marriages that will boost their standing in society even further.

Emma Ackley- Older Sister

Emma Ackley follows after her mother, trying to impress her by maintaining their family's perfect image. She is much more uptight than her sister and does not take many risks, everything in her life being carefully calculated. She is engaged to a wealthy earl and is set to be married in four months.
